For survivor:

- Inner Strength
- Red Herring

You'd be surprised what you can make the killer do.

🤨
Stealth doesn't fix generators, stealth doesn't open exit games, stealth doesn't unhook teammates, stealth doesn't cleanse Hex: Devour Hope and stealth doesn't keep the killer off your teammates while they fix generators. Stealth does nothing.
And no, when ever I tell a stealth player to loop they say "I know you make it look easy but it's impossible for me." Which I understand because I felt the same way for the first 500 hours but don't lie to them and tell them they are doing a great job while the best player on the team runs the killer for 5 minutes only to find out no gens were done and goes from feeling like a god to feeling hopeless.
Who do you think is repairing generators, opening exit gates, unhooking teammates, and cleansing totems while you're busy being chased? It's the stealth players. See what @alaenyia said
And no, when ever I tell a stealth player to loop they say "I know you make it look easy but it's impossible for me."
And that's "can't take criticism" for you? Whenever I tell a looper to learn to stealth, they almost rip my head off for even daring to suggest such a "boring" playstyle, because they want everything to be doable/counterable by looping. God forbid they have to do literally anything they don't like, such as cleansing totems or repairing generators.

@alaenyia said:
I am a survivor main and play stealth more often than not because I am not the best at loops, kind of average I guess. But I would argue that (only speaking for me) that immersive players are the work horses. The TTVers in neon clothes flashlight clicking the killer into a chase are the ones never doing any objectives. I am the one working methodically from one gen and totem to the next to GTFO. I do appreciate a good looper keeping the killer busy while the objectives are getting done. I would in no way say stealth players are killing their team or not doing anything. It takes both to get out of the match, if one or two people never want to hide and always want to be baiting the killer, someone is going to need to be working on gens. So unfortunately it goes off the rails when the highly visible players get killed off quickly by the killer and the stealth players are left trying to finish. Inevitably they are heckled at the end for "hiding the whole game" when they were just doing objectives. This is also pretty much a game of hide and seek in its base form, so being upset people are hiding is a very counter-productive point-of-view.
Thank you for actually looking at things from both sides.

A lot of survivors think the exit gates are powered by hopes and dreams and not by actually working on generators. I personally don't understand or agree with the playstyle, but immersive survivors tend to be the least receptive to any type of criticism or tips.
There's a lot of confirmation bias that goes into that playstyle. Their team often dies, so they don't focus on objectives or taking aggro because they see it as pointless. Reality is, the team is often dying *because* of their immersion, not in spite of it.

In my experience, it's the players who think stealth is the root of all evil and refuse to even consider it as an option that are the least receptive to any type of criticism or tips.
Tell a stealth player he should learn to loop, and he'll probably agree with you (or tell you that he does know how to loop, but chooses not to as his primary playstyle). Tell a looper that he should learn to stealth, and he'll scream and insult you for even suggesting that.

So stealth players suffer from confirmation bias and it's their fault the team dies, but loopers trying to take on the killer 1v1 and dying isn't related in the slightest.

well first his teammate is being useless staying in a locker near a chase, he's basically stuck there until the chase ends, It was completely on accident for the deception to reveal his hiding spot, I wouldn't consider it remotely close to sandbagging, he had full right to use his perk to try to get away. and if a survivor is playing like that (hiding and being useless), well it's deserved
The teammate getting stuck in the locker was also on accident, because she couldn't foresee that OP would loop the killer around a locker, nor that OP would even have Deception to begin with, nor that OP would use Deception on that particular locker. If OP is blameless, so is their teammate, but the teammate is still the one who got screwed.

Killers have not been the hosts for some time now. The reason for this is that player numbers fluctuate.

@Orion Idk what you mean by that in terms of priority.
To sum up what im trying to prove is that I want survivors to be a bit more bold and smart when it comes to doing objectives now im not saying they cant hide if the killer is going towards our way or if they switch targets. More than likely I doubt people will refuse to follow the plan because I'm pretty sure we would want to survive but usually if the plan doesnt go out well and we have no other options then one of us will just have to sacrifice themselves so that the other can get hatch.
@Nameless summarized it perfectly.

What Orion is trying to say is that a story has 2 sides. While it may have been frustrating for you to encounter those survivors, those survivors probably found it just as annoying when you come along bringing the killer to them for example. The world doesn't revolve around you and your perspective isn't what matters. There are more perspectives and it's important we are able to watch through the perspective of those other people. Maybe they're new to the game, maybe they let their brother play, maybe they just got camped several games in a row and decided they wanted to live a bit longer this game, or maybe the survivor that was hiding in the locker just heard their mother enter the room and they were having a conversation. I'd say these are perfectly fine reasons for a survivor to play stealthy.
-
@Drixpy_Jayyy said:
@Orion back to my perspective
- I don't consider it sandbagging because I did not know she was in there at all
- Survivors just respect the terror radius when the killer is not even coming our way and dont even commit to doing gens causing the killer to be able to use pop now if they are exposed or if its a chainsaw killer thats different.
- I know that I would be going down soon its just that I want survivors to get enough gens done before they save me and before I reach second stage
- It is possible for two survivors to finish repairing gens because I have done it before you just gotta able to still run the killer around and have one escape by door and the other by hatch. Just quickly message the survivor your plan if you can message them and then execute.
Why does your perspective get priority?
- She had no way of knowing that.
- They have no way of knowing that.
- They have no way of knowing that.
- And if you can't message them, or if one refuses to go along with the plan, you're screwed.
See, it's easy to blame the other person/people when you expect them to know exactly what you're thinking, but completely ignore that they have no way of doing that.
-
And now from their perspective:
- You used Deception on a locker she was in and she got caught as a result. That's borderline sandbagging, depending on whether or not you knew she was in there.
- You keep bringing the killer near them, so they have to stop working or they'll be discovered and potentially caught.
- You're going down eventually, so they need to be ready for when you inevitably lose the chase.
- There are two survivors remaining, so they know they have no chance to finish repairing the gens. They're also not going to feed you kills, so they wait it out, see who is found first.

Hell, in some cases different words mean the exact same thing.
Surgical Suture slightly increases heal speed (green addon)
medical scissors moderately increase heal speed (yellow addon)
needle and thread slight increases healing speed (yellow addon)
all 3 of these addons increase healing speed by 15%
Goes to show just how useless the terminology is.
This is definitely an issue, IMO. For the same effect, the language should be consistent.

Good luck with that. They will come up with claims faster than you can debunk them, it's always like this with flawed arguments.
Indeed, because when your statements are not limited by what's real, you can make up many different things while someone's still debunking the first one you said. Meanwhile, the others have spread halfway across the world and a lot of stubborn people will refuse to accept that they're wrong. That's how propaganda and conspiracy theories work.

First of all i never put words into your mouth, never, i was just making your example more applicable at this situation, because if I don't, what you said don't make any ######### sense, since are two things that aren't comparable in the slightest, so i said what i said because again, that's the closest things to the ps plus and ps4 situation, and again don't say "Sony being scummy" even Nintendo and Microsoft does this, it's not fair to just say that Sony it's the scummy one, hell Microsoft it's even worst because they've been the first one to do so.
First of all i never put words into your mouth, never
Yes, you did. My comment is about the SIM card. You're trying to make it about an Internet connection by putting words in my mouth. Hell, you basically admit to it right here:
i was just making your example more applicable at this situation
That's literally changing what I said; i.e.: putting words in my mouth.
if I don't, what you said don't make any [BAD WORD] sense, since are two things that aren't comparable in the slightest, so i said what i said because again, that's the closest things to the ps plus and ps4 situation
It's a comparison, it's not meant to contain a literal 1:1 correlation. I also gave an example with air fresheners and cars, both of which are notoriously unrelated to gaming consoles and Internet connections.
If you have a problem understanding parables, analogies, etc., then that's fine, I have trouble with them as well. If you don't, however, then you can accept that a comparison doesn't necessarily contain a literal 1:1 correlation.
don't say "Sony being scummy" even Nintendo and Microsoft does this, it's not fair to just say that Sony it's the scummy one, hell Microsoft it's even worst because they've been the first one to do so.
The topic of the discussion is PS Plus. I stuck to the topic, which is PS Plus (and therefore Sony). If you want to discuss other consoles, we can do so in a different thread.

I see what you are saying but like most things now days, everything costs money. I mean PS Plus has been around since 2010 so it's not like you would not be aware of this before you choose to buy the game. You are paying for an online service that has been the norm now for a very long time. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and so on.
The game was also free on PS Plus so there is that factor as well.
If you're not happy you could always spend a couple of thousand on a PC and play online completely free.
I see what you are saying but like most things now days, everything costs money.
Yes, and OP already paid for everything they need: Internet connection, console, game. Sony is being scummy, that's all.

Because that the closest things to the playstation plus, so getting to your logic, you pay for the phone [that's like the console] , and then at least in my country, you pay for the SIM [in some way and by your logic it's the game] (not considering offert or things like this) and for it to be usable with an internet connection, you either brought a wifi connection at home (which restrict you) of paying monthly for an internet connection [aka the playstation plus] by putting it like this your logic make zero sense, again, I'm not against what you said about the ps plus (even tho it have some pretty good upside, like two/three game free every month, which it's pretty good)
Then you're talking about a completely different example - yours. I was talking about the SIM card and exclusively the SIM card. The words "Internet connection" are nowhere to be found in the comment you quoted.
Don't put words in my mouth and then say that my example is bad when my example isn't what you're saying it is.

In my country, work the way i say, you pay for the SIM card, and you pay monthly for the internet connection, again, your example in my perspective have quite some flaws.
My example is about paying for the phone to use the SIM card you already paid for. You're the one bringing up Internet connection, for some reason. Again, read more carefully. See the words I used? Where do I even say the words "Internet" or "connection" in that comment?

To use internet connection on a phone, you need to pay every month, what you said it's pretty incorrect
I said SIM card, though. You should read more carefully.
-
- Is it cheating? Yes, absolutely.
- Does it matter? Surprisingly, no. Let me explain.
When someone uses crosshairs, what happens? Their aim is improved to the level of the best Huntress players - the best there can be. Their aim doesn't become better than is possible, it just becomes the best possible aim. Now, if they were to remove the crosshairs, they'd have to work on their aim themselves, learn to aim, and they'd eventually reach the same level as with the crosshairs.
On the survivor side, they'd either have to go up against a Huntress with perfect aim using a crosshair, or a Huntress with perfect aim who learned to aim. There's no difference because the former didn't gain any advantage over the latter, nor did they get access to skills that the game doesn't allow.
Bottom line, in terms of aim, there is no difference between a Huntress who learned to aim and a Huntress who uses crosshairs. This is one of those rare instances where cheating simply doesn't matter because the player doesn't go beyond what the game already allows. Furthermore, the fact that you can get the same effect with a piece of tape is a very good reason not to ban people for an overlay (some of which are inherent to their own hardware) - you literally can't stop them.
-
@TunnelVision said:

It’s good that PC players don’t have to pay anything extra but like I said, my favourite multiplayer games are Sony Exclusives so playing them on PC isn’t even an option for me, so I just try to look at the positive side (getting games each month at no extra cost) - It all depends on the type of gamer you are. One of my friends doesn’t play anything online, so he’s never paid for a subscription as everything he plays is offline and doesn’t require PS Plus.
I’m definitely against having to pay each year to simply play games online that I already paid for, but there’s nothing I can do about it so I’ve just accepted it for what it is.
You could not pay for it instead of rewarding Sony for this #########. This is like giving your dog a treat after it bites your arm. You're just rewarding the bad behavior.

Let's assume kill rates increase with the usage of slowdown perks. Your conclusion would be that these perks are too strong, as opposed to the rest of the perks being too weak, right? But there are multiple variables you didn't take into account, such as how many people use those perks to begin with.
To give an example on the survivor side, practically nobody uses Deception. If you were to compare the survival rates of players using Deception with players using Bond, I'm willing to bet the latter would have a much higher survival rate. Why? It's not because Bond is some super-perk that vastly increases your chances of survival, it's because more people use Bond in the first place, and people who use Deception are probably only doing so because they have nothing better on whatever character they're playing.
Nothing is as simple as survival/kill rates. If it were, the Nurse would need some pretty heavy buffs.

They don’t do #########. There is no real counter to camping since even if your team does gens and escapes everyone is till gonna either de pip or only black pip since the killer refuses to interact with anyone. The tunneling counters we have are: ds which only buys you about 5-10 seconds and you go down anyway, bt which does the same thing as ds essentially, and dh which again only buys you a little time but doesnt actually stop the killer from tunneling.
Camping is the result of a prolonged period of time where the survivors simply refused to work on gens and instead rewarded the killers for camping. It won't be immediately solved by a few survivors rushing gens once or twice. However, it is a survivor-created problem and has a survivor-side solution. There is no need for any changes here.
As for "tunneling" (AKA: playing smart and chasing the weak link like any rational human being would), the only way to change that would be to make it so chasing someone who's healthy and has been hooked fewer times is more beneficial to the killer. Punishments simply won't work and there should never be any survivor perk that can prevent the killer from catching you - that's just common sense.

Unhooks follow a binomial distribution. With the base chance and 3 attempts, there's an 11.5% chance of self-unhooking. With the +7% from the offering, it's 29.5%.
You just proved my point about why the numbers are worthless. People simply do not understand the math.
It's 7% with the offering, not +7% with the offering. So it goes from 11.5% to 19.5%. Still terrible odds. Still not a relevant increase.
My bad. However, if you think going from a little over 1/10 to a little under 1/5 isn't significant, I don't know what to tell you.

Yes, 20% of 80 is 16. However, it's a 20% decrease in speed, not a 20% increase in time. 80/(1-0.2)=100. The increase in time is 20 seconds.

Those words are assumptions by someone else's standard though, which is a problem.
Take Vigo's Jar of Salty Lips: It is said to 'considerably' increase luck. So if your chance to jump off the hook is normally 4%, how much do you get if it is a 'considerable' increase?
7%
You still have no realistic chance of getting off the hook. That 'considerable increase' is pretty negligible.
Giving the percentage allows people to make the estimations for themselves rather than relying on the judgement of someone else. And it's not like DBD is averse to using them either, because perks, more often than not, DO include percentages in their descriptions.
Ideally, we'd have a toggle option to give players the option to simply choose whichever they prefer, so everyone can get exactly what they want.

quick question: what's your point?
My point is that most people can't do the math. Putting it in terms of "slightly", "moderately", etc. is better if you want to convey the idea of how these things affect the game. Those who want to (and can) do the math can check the wiki for the exact percentages.

-
Former Nurse player here (before she was gutted), but I think my advice still works:
- Don't be afraid to lose. Nurse is a difficult killer to play; losing is not only perfectly normal, it's expected. Accept that you will lose most of your trials until you learn to play her.
- Plaid Flannel is a good way to study how her blink landing zone travels, but don't become dependent on it. Use it to observe and learn, then remove it and try to develop muscle memory and aiming skills (for vertical blinks).
- Keep in mind that each survivor (the players, not the characters) runs differently. Try to learn how they move behind LoS blockers during the chase and use that against them. Smarter survivors (you'll learn to recognize them) will try to move unpredictably, but human brains are not good at being random. In effect, what's most likely going to happen is that they do the opposite of whatever they did before (go left instead of right, stand still instead of running, stuff like that).
- Always try to keep a mental map of your surroundings. It's very easy to become disoriented while playing Nurse, this will help.
- Read the wiki if you feel the need to understand her mechanics better and gameplay alone does not answer your questions.

I disagree. I feel like people being banned for reasons out of their control that they paid money for and pumped money into is going to cause more people to leave the game than a few intentional disconnects here and there. Penalties of hours to days are uncalled for.
It's not "a few intentional disconnects here and there", it's "multiple disconnects per trial, every trial".
If you're so sure it's not your system, then write bug reports and help the devs figure out what the problem is. However, the penalty is not going away.

I personally don’t think spending roughly £4 a month to play online is that bad at all. On PS5 you also have 20 free games to download and you get 3 new games each month for free, so all in all, it seems like a good deal to me.
I spend 0 to have my PC use the service I already paid for and give it access to. I'm not familiar with subscription systems on PC (because I find the practice to be predatory at best), but I'm almost certain they'd cost less than whatever you pay on console, simply because consoles are sold at a loss and thus have to make up the difference somehow.

The US has infamously poor infrastructure. Don't confuse maximum speed for good internet. I have 500/100 Mbps of guaranteed (note the difference between "guaranteed" and "max") download/upload speed and never have any disconnects. It's perfectly stable.

I know what you meant. It's still infinitely more expensive than it should be, as well as an anti-consumer business model. It's unfortunate that a lot of people feel the same way you do, or consoles might actually be worth buying.

It is happening to a large portion of the player base. You must not be paying much attention. I play 8 plus hours a day many days so one or two disconnects a day adds up. It is not on my end. I have the best internet one could have. It occurs on multiple systems and multiple internets. Before they implemented it I never had many people DC at all. Disconnecting makes zero sense at all no matter if you are the killer or survivor. You still lose either way. If you are a survivor you can just not struggle on the first hook same outcome as if you disconnected. If you are a killer just set your controller down. Both have the same outcome as if you disconnected. So the whole penalty system is pointless and only harming good players. But again you must not be paying much attention to forums and FB pages cause I can demonstrate/show where it is happening to thousands of people. Not to mention DBD is the only game it happens on.
I have the best internet one could have.
I highly doubt that. What country do you live in?

It's not.
Solos double SWF's playerbase.
Solos double SWF's playerbase.
Source? According to the last (old) data I saw, solos are about 50% of the playerbase, with the other 50% being some form of SWF.

The problem is by buffing solos then SWF will think they are punished for being SWF and will demand those buffs too.
If you buff solos so they're on the same level as SWF, there's literally nothing for SWF to demand - it'll be things they (we) already have.

The online subscription is the only thing encouraging them to make consoles. They design and sell the console to you at a loss and make up that loss and profit from the online subscription.
It's too bad they refuse to acknowledge the obvious problem in the "consoles are too expensive to make and need to be sold at a loss to compete with PCs" thing.

and playing killer against SWF is hell.
seems like the only solution is to remove SWF or nerf SWF and both solo and killers will be happy
Or buff solos and killers, because people shouldn't be punished for wanting to play with their friends.

Any third-party modification comes with the risk of a ban. No one can guarantee you that EAC won't ban you for this. Use at your own risk.

Let me tell you a story, about DbD before SWF.
People queued up at the same time, to try to trick the game into putting them in the same lobby. When that didn't work, they left the lobby (or DC'd mid-game because other players wouldn't leave the lobby). They did this so often and regularly, that many lobbies broke outright.
History would repeat itself if limits were added, because you can't stop people from wanting (and trying) to play with their friends.
