DBD is the only game doing so, and only since 5.0.0. RE Village? Nothing. NiNoKuni remake? No problems. 30 tabs of Chrome? Zero issues. Modded Minecraft except I've given the shaders shaders and cranked all settings up to 140%? Smooth as butter.
DBD? Choppy, overheating, stuttering.
It's, quite frankly, embarassing.
Hold on there, GoodBoyKaru. Ni no Kuni remake? Why was I not informed of this? Where is it? When was it released?

Welp, DBD may have killed my One X.
This is....new.
Seems unthinkable to me, but, if true, it's a big issue.

This has barely fixed the overheating issue but hey at least it works.
Don't play DbD (or anything, really) if it's causing your system to overheat...

It's been chilling unplugged on my kitchen counter for ~2 hours
If it's still not coming on, then it's most likely dead.

My Xbox overheated earlier (with a box fan helping cool it) and it hasn't turned on since.
I am trying to fix ir, but no luck yet.
Fingers crossed.
Definitely leave it off and unplugged for several hours.

No. The same thing has been asked/said about virtually every chapter.
-
Like, I have seen a good number of people across social media saying their consoles or PCs are simply overheating with nemesis matches, and they don't have potato pcs either.
That doesn't really mean much, they could have very poor ventilation (quite common because people dump a ton of money into CPU/GPU/RAM and forget PSU, motherboard, cooling, etc.).
(which iirc has happened already to another company)
Which one? I've never heard that one before.
-
Because no matter what happens, the people experiencing problems always complain (as they should). Due to the nature of software, it's virtually impossible to launch anything more complex than "Hello World" that's 100% bug-free. The complaints give you the impression that every launch is a disaster because people who are enjoying the content are too busy, y'know, enjoying the content to come to the forum and complain.
-
OP, you are not a "pussy" for having emotions. That's normal for most mammals. Don't think you're somehow "worse" than other people for feeling emotions. The data is clear: people who deny their emotions tend to have more psychological problems than those who embrace and work through their emotions.
With that said, if the ######### are causing you this much distress, you should definitely step away from the game, at least for a little while. It's not healthy to subject yourself to emotional distress.
Regardless of what you decide, I wish you all the best.
-
Why did the devs make melee killers between launch and Huntress?

GOOD, they don't deserve to have their content ruined by bhvr
You're seriously overestimating BHVR if you think they can "ruin" Resident Evil just by having bugs in a game that isn't even part of the Resident Evil franchise. I can only imagine what you think of Resident Evil games and their bugs.

We need to know how it works to give reliable feedback?
Why? I don't need to know how a medical treatment works to know that I'm feeling like #########. Why would you need to know how MMR works to say whether or not your trials are being fair?

what's wrong with having to download the update first? That's how alot of games work. If i can finish downloading in no time, why can't i get the dlc immediately?
There's nothing wrong with it, I'm saying it's worse than the way the devs are doing it, which is just an objective fact if your goal is to buy and play it ASAP.

The cause of this is also how steam manages uploads or not ? I mean the steam store page can be prepared in advance, if everything would immediately be online once they are done, they could release the dlc at the same time as the update.
They could, yes, but then you'd only have access after you've downloaded and installed the update.
-
@Babawizwiz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272685#Comment_2272685
There's no advantage or disadvantage to the devs for releasing dlcs along with updates , sure they may get money faster but that's not really a pro. This has always been their formula, releasing dlcs an hour after the update instead of having everything together. I mean an hour doesn't mean as much now as i'm killing time replying to all these
I'm talking about the advantage/disadvantage to those who buy the DLC. If it comes out in 2 minutes, you can buy it and immediately play it. Doing it the way you're saying would imply downloading the update first, then having access to it.
Your way is just worse. There's no shame in admitting you were wrong.
-
@Babawizwiz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272661#Comment_2272661
If the initial post the devs made about the update was that it would be released on X time along with the dlc, no one would complain about getting the content later.
But it would be disadvantageous compared to how they're doing it.
-
No, it's a blurry screenshot.
-
@Babawizwiz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272639#Comment_2272639
the pros of doing it 'my way', is that players who finished downloading the game can try the dlc immediately.
And you'd get the content later than if they did it this way.
-
@Babawizwiz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2272608#Comment_2272608
Not 'delayed', but announce a date and time where both can be released at the same time. What are the cons to releasing the dlc along with the update? there are multiple players who can download the update in 5 minutes but can't use the new characters.
The pros of doing it this way is that it's like pre-loading a game. You then just need to download a decryption key (or, in this case, buy the DLC) to immediately gain access to the content and start playing. The pros of doing it like you said are... none.
So no, there are no cons to doing it like you're saying, technically speaking, but this way is better.

Annoying because everyone is so focused on them, you never get a "normal" trial.

Maybe, maybe not. But in a unique game such as DBD, we have absolutely no indication what we’re being graded on. I’m not asking for them to copy paste the code online, I’m asking for an actual answer to what determines MMR.
Maybe, maybe not.
The answer is "no". No game on Earth reveals exactly how their MMR works (or, if one does, I've never heard of it).
But in a unique game such as DBD, we have absolutely no indication what we’re being graded on.
DbD is not that unique, other than being the "first" widely successful asymmetrical game. As for what you're being graded on, it's your performance during the trial.
I’m not asking for them to copy paste the code online, I’m asking for an actual answer to what determines MMR.
Look at the current pip categories and interactions that give points toward them, then think of all the things it doesn't take into account. That's most likely it.
Regardless, why does it matter? Either it works and you get trials that are at your level of skill, or it doesn't and you don't. You don't need to know how it works to know whether it is working.

Your credentials can be leaked any number of ways. If you ever used the same email and password virtually anywhere else, there's always a chance someone will hack that place and try your credentials on various websites and services.
EDIT: Hell, PSN was hacked back in 2011. Wouldn't surprise me if it'd happened again.

The issue is that the DC tech can have a pretty hefty cooldown. It also has the added issue of feeling bad for screwing over my teammates even more then they already were.
Disconnecting is not a "tech", it's rage quitting.
OP, the best advice I can give you is to play as the Nurse. Learn her mechanics, learn her limitations, then figure out how best to counter her. However...
Blocking LOS can help sometimes, but other times the Nurse just predicts my movement and downs me no problem.
Yes, that's going to happen. No strategy is perfect. You can and will lose against killers even if you use the best possible strategy because the best possible strategy is still flawed. I will say, though, that if she can predict your movement, it's because your movement is predictable.

I mean, i only play solo survivor and not intentionally throw the game. If i really wanted to sweat i could play in SWF. During the MMR test i went a lot against P3/Fancy skin NOED Spirits. There's already very low variety, this is just gonna make the game more boring than it already is.
It's not about intentionally throwing the game, it's about not always playing optimally. You can't say you're playing optimally and casually, those two are opposites.
You also can't say you're playing optimally and then complain you're going up against people who're doing the same because you keep winning. If you are playing optimally, then you are playing to win.

It's from Tokyo Ghoul
Yup, called it. I'm guessing the main character is a very average person who becomes an undead against his will and tries to maintain his human life while secretly eating people?

Normally I wouldn't do this, but since you brought up "intellectuals"...

Jm on ps4, it cant happen
Your account can be hacked on any platform, there's no reason why playing on a PS4 would prevent that.
-
I say that and have been playing since launch.
-
Sounds like someone may have hacked your account. Either that or you're using Family Share and don't remember.
-
Is there any game with MMR that explicitly tells you exactly how their intellectual property (i.e.: the code behind the MMR calculations) works?
-
@M1MASTER said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2269876#Comment_2269876
The problem is that there's only so much you can limit yourself if you're naturally good at the game. You're gonna be high MMR no matter what you do unless you intentionally throw games which begs the question of why you're playing in the first place.
For example, whether a good survivor uses DS/BT/Unbreakable/Dead Hard or a Mettle of Man build doesn't change the fact that the player might be pretty good at looping and wasting the killer's time; so what are you gonna do? Intentionally let yourself get caught in order to not sweat?
The same as killer. If you're good at your killer of choice, you're probably gonna win anyway against chill survivors even if you don't try super hard so you're eventually gonna reach higher MMR.
If you're playing to the full extent of your ability, then you're not "playing chill". You are, in fact, "sweating".

True. This is why the rubber duckie test exist.
Rubber duckie test is basically reading the code to an object or something and you can realize your mistake. Or least thats what i do.
It's amazing how often that works. Sometimes I call up my BF to describe a problem to him that he has no understanding of, and usually find the solution halfway through describing the problem.
Brains, man. They're weird.
-
I was there, three thousand years ago...
-
The anti-cheat won't actively scan for this stuff, but if you do get banned, the devs won't do anything about it. It's "use at your own risk".
-
No killer has such a thing. What were the add-ons being used by that Blight? It could be a bug, or a cheat.

Part of the problem, but not an explanation. Others have problems too while not recording. At least on PC. On Console it is even more of an issue, but it is common knowledge that the game is not optimized on Console.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2267966#Comment_2267966
Agreed. Another game I played a lot in the past (World of Tanks) had really good support for Low-End PCs. You are able to play this game on a Potato-PC without much issues, while still looking amazing on decent PCs. Like, no comparison to DBD.
(I am also quite sure that the system requirements on Steam are not correct anymore)
I was only speaking of PC. I don't own a console, so I've no experience with it.

3060ti, i9-9900k cpu and I also have framerate issues. Mainly on the newer maps but holy cow. With my build I shouldn't be having any issues at all but it still sucks butt.
Paradoxically, the more recent your hardware is, the more likely it is to cause you these issues. The drivers are new, the hardware is effectively unknown to the developers, etc.. It happens every time.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
I dont know what causes the problems, but it seems pretty random.
Like, currently I have a 1050 TI, playing on Medium and I never experience any Framedrops. I had Framedrops on high and Ultra, but this probably because the GPU is not really good.
Before the 1050 TI I had a 1070 TI, which is compareable to Scotts 1080 TI and I never had any problems on Ultra.
So I am not sure if it is something regarding the GPUs. It really looks random, people (like COntent Creators) with really good Hardware experience it, while others dont.
My guess is that the recording/streaming process is part of the problem. I have a 1070 and don't usually experience problems. On the rare occasions that I do, the devs put out a patch that fixes them and that's the end of it.
-
Not sure how unpopular this is, but...
Most things survivors complain about (camping, NOED, slugging, etc.) are usually caused by survivors themselves (though not always the ones complaining about it).
-
PFG?

Wake up is one of those perks that you could change the numbers all you want and it still won't be good.
Like hypothetically what if you boosted the numbers that you open the exit gates in 0.1 second.
Would you run it? I wouldn't.
Outside of being the last survivor and the killer get's the hatch first it still wouldn't be any good.
I would, 100%. The number of times the gates haven't been opened because nobody bothered to approach them would make it worth it alone. And 0.1 seconds? That's a damn near-perfect counter to NOED that doesn't involve totems.

Nurse is the most balanced killer in the game because chases against her are a matter of skill vs. skill.
