You do know this game is made and owned by Behaviour Interactive, right?

Trapper. Feels like every time I take my eyes off the ground for even a yoctosecond, there's a trap.

They should fix the game and address why players dc or the problem will never be resolved.
Have you actually read the reasons why people DC? There's one for each DC. Maybe the killer "isn't fun" (i.e.: can actually stand up against the survivors), maybe the map isn't quite right (i.e.: isn't completely one-sided), maybe someone got hit/stunned, maybe someone didn't get hit/stunned, and so on.
If the devs were to "address" why players DC, they'd just remove the game from every store and shut down the servers. The real solution is to keep the penalty, fix the real problems (crashes, other bugs, and balance), and the DCers can keep getting penalized for ruining everyone else's trials.

Question: Is Pride for people who are struggling with finding their sexuality?
Certainly not asking for myself or anything….

Sure.

Because I enjoy shooting the ######### with my SWF teammate and don't take the game too seriously, so I can lose without a care in the world.

How often did you see the killer before the rework, though?

So let me get this right. In your mind because I'm not gay; I don't understand what it's like to singled out, discriminated against, excluded from things because I'm not the exact same as everyone else even though I look the same and people are too stupid to be informed?
BULL ######### #########. I've been through hell my entire life because of ignorance and discrimination. I had a childhood that has completely messed with my perception of myself to this day because of it. Just because It wasn't over me being gay doesn't make it any less damaging.
If the topic was titled how is everyone's pride MONTH my response would have been this.
"It's okay, the month isn't really for me but to anyone it is for I hope it's going great."
But it wasn't. That's why I said what I said because I should be allowed to be proud of my sexuality too without taking away from people who are gay and are proud to be it.
If I were gay it would be easier, I'm not but I still went through as much of a different hell growing up. One that doesn't get recognized, have it's own month, or a flag. But still happened because I was different. Again that's awesome for anyone who's gay, it doesn't apply to me though.
Two mistakes were made hear. the first and most important is that I read a topic title that meant something completely different then what it was intended, I said something that to me wasn't a big deal because I've never felt anyone who was gay as being less then myself. Second you read what I said and were instantly blinded by fear and the feeling of being attacked when you weren't being attacked at all. I was saying I was proud of who I am just like you are proud of who you are. Not saying I was superior to you.
I know all to well about a lot of the things you're going though even if they're not the exact same. I was still labeled and treated differently, unfairly and as an outcast because of it by ignorant and uninformed people.
The same thing you're accusing me of now.
Hello shoe, welcome to the other foot.
If you didn't know this was specifically about LGBT Pride (even though it's mentioned in the OP), why did you mention "straight pride" and only "straight pride"? Why not the things you were discriminated for?
-
@Ryan489x said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2295456#Comment_2295456
I'm not saying that, It should allowed, however If someone can't make a topic about being straight(which is unnecessary to be clear) without coming across as someone who is a bigot and uninformed and would clearly get into a lot of trouble for doing so, but someone making a topic about being gay or LGTBQ is okay because of what it is?
I can be proud of who I am just like someone who's gay be proud of who they are, I respect that.
You're putting words into my mouth and I really don't appreciate it.
The topic title is how is EVERYONES pride. do I not fit into everyone?
You know very well this is about LGBT pride, or you wouldn't come here with "straight pride" to try to disrupt the thread. Furthermore, it's been explained why "straight pride" isn't a real thing, except to try to detract from LGBT pride.

They only give me killer rituals. So had to play a few this weekend but Ya that was it. Killer is a mess right now and survivor where I'm at has instant que's. As long as you don't play nemesis the game is decent just some minor spikes (console player). Let a nemesis come to the party and I'm just running into walls and #########.
I don't care about rituals, I just play whatever I feel like. I'm also not playing with the DC penalties disabled. I'll probably wait until MMR makes a permanent return before playing again.

I have yet to see any of that. Yet to kill anyone and them bring up a charm, yet to see a bunch try to farm and even if they did I wouldn't go looking at there charms. I let 2 survivors live over the weekend both on death hook (never looked at charms) because it was a Nancy and a Steve. The fact those two ended up last two alive plus being a stranger things fan said what the hell. But charms? This is funny.
Same, apart from the killing part (haven't played killer). I've requested screenshots and/or recordings of these instances, but nobody has provided any so far.
-
@chargernick85 said:
Charms? Charms? Don't talk about charms! Your dead because your a survivor..........Nothing else.
My perspective.
OP is saying that even one person wearing the LGBT Pride charm immediately turns that trial into a farming game, or that people with the charm are more likely to be left alive. In other words, the exact opposite of what you're talking about.
-
@Moundshroud said:
Seriously? This is a thing? The only time I notice charms is if the Survivor wears them on the back position and they are brightly colored. Even then, I'm only going to notice it if they are trying to blend in and hide. This is why I never wear one except in the front position. Most people squat and face into a corner and/or terrain with their back out. If you are wearing dark, or appropriately colored clothing, you blend in. The charm sticks out in that case. That is why I've been wearing that brightly colored target in the front position for the month.
I'm not letting anyone live, nor am I killing them, over a charm. I don't care who you are in the real world. I don't care about your age, gender, political affiliation, sexual preferences, religious denomination, or even if you are the kind of person who takes your shoes AND socks off on a commercial airliner. Inside the Entity's realm you are just a Survivor or a Killer and are treated as such. One of the main reasons I wasn't excited about the inclusion of identity politics inside the game is precisely this situation. There are weirdos out there who seem to care, whereas I don't. Even if I met you in the real world I would not care about these things.
or even if you are the kind of person who takes your shoes AND socks off on a commercial airliner.
People like that end up in the Bad Place, or so I've been told. It's no wonder they're in the Fog...

What and risk being camped and tunneled even more? No thanks. :)
You yourself just said that "the feedback" is leaning toward the OP's claim (even though most people are saying the opposite). It shouldn't be an issue to just try it out, see for yourself. I mean, I equip it all the time, so I have that firsthand experience. Who knows? Maybe it'll help your decision.

To me it didn't sound like they were looking for a specific players. That's what that rule means. Specific characters? Yes. But that's completely different. Who wouldn't tunnel a blendette? That means that most killers have broken the rules
So we've established that killers can and do play differently due to certain cosmetics. Why is it a problem when it's the Pride charm?
-

No I said "if". I haven't seen enough feedback on it yet to be fully convinced of its influence power, but its leaning that way.
So equip it and try it out for yourself. Why are you hesitating?

I drew a paralllel to it cuz these mentioned things also wherent completly op or busted but still annoying at a certain degree and got changed in a very healthy way.
You are right noed got nerfed back then, so what? Same as Mori, it got nerfed twice, same as Pallets with vacuum, there are many things that need more then just 1 change. Thats the circle of life my friend, everything can change constantly.
Whatever your justification, the way I applied your logic works.
One side refuses to deal with a pretty basic game mechanic, so that mechanic must get nerfed, to the other side's disadvantage. That's your logic with NOED.
So killers should refuse to break pallets to have them break themselves, they should refuse to aim so aiming is made easier, and so on.
-
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294585#Comment_2294585
I mean if theres a magic charm I can equip to make killers stop camping, tunneling and being overall toxic jerks to me I'd wear it all the time.
So you admit the Pride charm doesn't actually do anything, or else you'd wear it all the time.

@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294579#Comment_2294579
So you think its only causing those outcomes and not the other way around? I mean you literally have people here saying killers are giving hatches and farming with people who have the charm on soooo I think you're wrong there.
Let's assume you're right, even though you're not (seriously, count the number of people actually saying that vs. the number of people saying the opposite - like me). Why does that matter? People have been playing differently due to cosmetics since we've had cosmetics (i.e.: since launch). Why does it matter now that it's a charm, arguably the least visible cosmetic option imaginable?
-
@Mooks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294583#Comment_2294583
There will be a few killers (and survivors) behaving differently when they see the charm.
But guess what? That’s probably also affecting every cosmetic or charm or char. There will be people that let Cheryls live, that will always tunnel Jill when they are playing Nemesis, that will target every Claudette because they are despicable stealth players (even when wearing that pink hat and white jacket somehow…).
but it’s the vast minority that actually let those things affect the way they play. And it’s naive to assume it’s only the case when the Rainbow charm is in play.
That's a good point: this behavior (letting cosmetics affect the way you play) is not new, by any stretch of the imagination. So why is it only a problem now?
-
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294572#Comment_2294572
Who knows. Its probably just depends on who you get as a killer I guess. The idea of another survivor having a better outcome because of it does suck though.
Equip it, see how much your experience improves.
-
@CoalTower said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294570#Comment_2294570
It is. I dodge lobbies with that charm because the killers won't do anything but farm.
I've been in lobbies with the charm (all my lobbies have the charm because I have it equipped) and nobody tried to farm with me, at all. I think you're exaggerating and/or just drew some hasty conclusions.
-
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294568#Comment_2294568
Curiosity. People seem to believe the charm is influencing outcomes in matches so it just makes me wonder now.
Well, some people did say they were going to let the charm influence their decisions. Specifically, by camping and/or tunneling and/or sandbagging those wearing the charm. So yes, the charm is influencing outcomes, but not in the way you seem to believe.
-
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294555#Comment_2294555
Why should I believe this won't happen to me for not having the charm on? I'm not convinced but then again how could anyone even tell really? I'm tunneled and camped a lot before the charm so honestly its like nothing even changed if it does happen for not wearing it.
You just answered your own question:
I'm tunneled and camped a lot before the charm so honestly its like nothing even changed if it does happen for not wearing it.
If nothing about your experience changed, why would you immediately assume it's because of something you're not even using?
-
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227012#Comment_2227012
And that is why the pride charm was a bad idea... in my humble opinion. Now I'm starting to wonder if the matches I've been camped or tunneled in recently were because I didn't have it on.
I can guarantee you nobody's going to tunnel and/or camp you for not having the charm. However, a lot of people have explicitly said they were going to tunnel and/or camp people for having the charm. So... y'know, don't try to "both sides" this.

No that logic is applied already to many other things like DS. Ppl abused the hell out of DS and got free gen progress. So the nerf came in and now ppl are forced to use DS how it is supposed to be. Same goes for God windows, they werent that OP if just 1 survivors used it, but ppl started to realize how strong it can be so everyone ran all the time to it to abuse it, thats why devs nerfed them and now ppl cant abuse them.
Not saying that noed is beeing abused but it is not getting used as a help for "new" killers, it is used to get some ez kills without effort for players that have hundreds of hours.
If you're not saying NOED is being abused, then why draw a parallel with something that was nerfed because it was being abused as justification for why NOED should be nerfed? Seems weird to me.
Anyway, NOED has been nerfed multiple times. It became the first Hex that can be prevented from being activated altogether, which is just insane. All survivors have to do is hold M1 for a few seconds and they even get 1000 BP for their "effort".
-
@BenZ0 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294492#Comment_2294492
yes, since you cant change ppl's gameplay just simply add a slight adjustment to the perk.
By your logic, if some Deathslinger players don't want to aim at survivors, he should be buffed to automatically aim at survivors and have perfect accuracy.

I just don't see it being correct that people are claiming one side is more toxic because "Oh i witness it a lot more from them." That's one persons opinion on it. Even if many more share the same opinion doesn't make it correct. I've seen plenty of toxic killers. And I've seen plenty of toxic survivors. But people are free to believe whatever they want. I think it's safer to assume it's about 50/50 than one side or the other to just divide this games community even more because everyone just wants to have this "us vs them" mentality. That's where a lot of this toxic spews from.
The opinion is based on personal experience, though. You may have a different experience, and that's fine, but it doesn't invalidate ours (and vice-versa).

I guess it has something to do with strength among the masses. It is always 4vs1 and the individual in the 4 can most often rely on backup or support from the rest of the group. The lone individual has to present themselves all alone and that, from a psychological point if view, does not "encourage" such behaviour in the same way.
Whatever the explanation, the fact is there's a disproportionate amount of toxicity coming from survivors, at least in my experience.
-
@LeleLP said:

I'd say they're even. You can't truly say one side or the other is toxic from your own personal experience. It may seem like that because again it's a 4v1 game. Of course it'll be more common to see on the survivor side. But no doubt about it I have seen plenty of toxic killer mains. Both sides have bad eggs. End of story. Not gonna be biased and just say it's more this side or the other.
Not gonna be biased and just say it's more this side or the other.
It's not biased if that's the truth, nor is it unbiased to say "both sides are the same" and leave it at that. In fact, it may be more biased to say "both sides are the same", because you're equating, for example, a killer camping with survivors sending death threats.
-
@Hoodied said:
If you are to literally use any perk that detects totems you can counter NOeD, how hard is that to understand?
You don't even need perks, just equip a map or learn the (obvious) spawns. They're really quite obvious, IMO, except those out in the middle of the corn fields.

@Ruma said:
I think the reasons why there are more toxic survivors than killers are:
1. Its a 4vs1. You see more survivors.
2. Survivors know they are the power role MOST of the time.
3. Youtubers and Streamer. Not allowed to name one but there are many big Youtubers who play extremly toxic and act like its all fun and these lil kids try to copy them then.
- Doesn't explain the disproportionate toxicity you get from survivors. You definitely get more than 4x the toxicity from survivors than you do killers.

You're again heavilly underestimating how much difference a knife makes.
4 unarmed people vs 1 with a knife will more often then not lead to 4 dead or heavilly injured people. Any good self-defence instructor will tell you that when you face someone with a knife. That your best bet will always be to run.
I'd rather people let people enjoy the character they like and find a character they like themself rather then trying to change everything to fit their needs.
The characters of 3 teens being manipulated by a person to become vandals/killers is way more imaginative to me then some spoopy wendigo monster that can teleport or a giant demon feeding on blood.
Cause the first thing is something that can happen in real life, has happened in real life and will happen again in real life. The idea that one of your kids later get manipulated to become monsters is horror to me and many others.
You don't have like it, that's fine that's why we have so many different types of horror. But then stick to what you like instead of trying to throw away what others like
Any good self-defence instructor will tell you that when you face someone with a knife. That your best bet will always be to run.
Can confirm, this is what I was taught in taekwondo during our self-defense portion. The best defense against someone wielding a knife (or pretty much any weapon, really), is to run away.

Well its not really a nerf what my suggestion was you know. To add a simple requirement to noed like hooking survivors what you anyway SHOULD do wouldnt harm Killers that play the game right? The only ppl that it would harm is ppl that just tunnel or camp the entire game and get maybe a second kill out of it only cuz of Noed. And that is what I want to prevent, that ppl who dont really do much but still get a easy Kill out of the game.
That's a nerf. It reduces the power of the thing.
What I want to prevent is survivors ignoring mechanics and then getting those mechanics nerfed because they complain they got hit by easily-preventable stuff.

Exactly and that is the dilemma, especially on solo q.
The solution isn't to nerf NOED, though, it's for survivors to start cleansing totems.

I had more then enough matches where I did ALONE all 5 totems or even did 4 and couldnt find the last one or the Killer was always nearby keeping me occupied. Its always easy to say simple things as "just do totems" :).
This argument has the same energy as "I hate getting tunneled" - "Well just dont die"
Or "Gens go too fast" - "Just apply pressure"
There are four survivors in each trial. If you're the only one cleansing totems, then you've just proven my point: survivors need to stop ignoring totems.

NOED is fine the way it is, survivors just need to stop ignoring totems.

^ this is the problem I have, it's such an easy thing to do and it rewards just way too much, I say this when I play survivor, I prefer dying while I looped and outplayed or if I got outplayed then better, I prefer actually trying to be good at the game not just a holding W bot.
A good player who's trying to win will do so in the most effective manner possible. Yes, shift+W is very simple, but it doesn't mean everyone who does it is unskilled, nor does it mean you or I are better than them just because we use strategies that are more complicated and less effective.
This is what competitive gaming looks like: using the most efficient strategy to win.

(Shift+W with Gen Rush) blame Devs for creating/buffing killers with no real counter in 1v1. How to loop Nurse on pallet? or Deathslinger? or Trickster? or Victor/Twins? They win 1v1 easily, also with how many dead zones now, what did you expect survivors to do? ofc i will shift+w until i die next to op tree.
This what happen when you remove real counters like looping pallets/windows to please the killers. cuz killers will NEVER be pleased.
They're supposed to win a 1v1 easily, that's why there are 4 survivors and only 1 killer. It's how asymmetrical games work.
-
Killer: 3+ kills.
Survivor: Escaping.
