If the thing about "no OT" is true and I could work from home, I'd consider it as an alternative career.

I heard that it was a person with a spreadsheet who picked them.
"I heard" is not a reliable source. Heard from whom? How would they have access to that information? Can we verify that this person actually exists?
Nevertheless, it wouldn't surprise me if that were the case, seeing as how every spreadsheet in existence has a "random" function, which would certainly make it easier than having to create a random function of your own, test it (to make sure it works properly - there's a lot that goes into making a proper random function), then add it to the game to pick the perks automatically. In the short-term, it's cheaper to just have a human use a spreadsheet. It also prevents dataminers from knowing which perks will be added to the Shrine in advance, since they don't have access to the RNG.

I have more than 1500 hours in this game, but thanks for the advice. And I have no desire to learn the layout. It's a garbage map that is bad for both killers and survivors.
If you don't know the layout, how do you know the map is bad? Is it bad because you refuse to learn the layout?

Yeah running around being unable to find a generator or figure out how to get to a Jigsaw box, or to a slugged teammate, or to a hooked teammate, or back to a gen once a found one? Absolutely thrilling.
Yes, that's common for indoor maps, since you can't see very far in any particular direction. You'll learn the layout, eventually.
-
Once the crashes are fixed, none. Players DC, maps don't DC for them.
35 minutes sounds like it was very tense, which is kinda the reason why you play survivor in the first place.

It did, up until 2.4.0. It's on the trivia section, I linked to the wiki article on the very first comment.

Exact numbers of consolers aren't known due to the various UEA's but in loose terms all consoles together passed PC end of last summer. No doubt due to lockdown plus the base game being free on MS Gamepass and PSN most of that time.
The PlayStations are by far the largest chunk, and their numbers by themselves were approaching the PC total before the RE chapter nuked us.
Those on Xbox like me are a very distant third, followed by our Switch & Windows cousins. Also apparently there is something called Stadia out there as well.
I had found some very rough figures from 2020 and posted them here in a thread somewhere I'll look for the link when I'm out of work.
If it's the data I'm thinking of, that just shows the total number of people who have ever launched DbD. It's not the same as the player data for Steam, which shows current number of players.

May have been fun as killer, but it was completely unfair.

you cannot do a thing against decent nurse when u play solo, u need to be with full team. if the nurse prioritize weak links = gg ez for the killer.
That's literally how all killers play, prioritizing the weak link. Why would they go for the best player first?

I know...I am just stating facts that relay my perspective of the anniversary and yeah consoles are unacceptable right now but who cares we are the minority.
I mean, I care. I may not play on console, but you are still fellow players. I'm sure most players would agree with me.
Even on a purely selfish level, console optimizations will probably translate to optimization on PC as well. While I don't have problems with that, given that the devs want to keep adding content, having the game be well-optimized is better in the long run.

I love going against Nurses - in fairness though if it's a top tier Nurse you probably are going to lose, but I don't mind that. I enjoy the attempts to outwit her, and the fact that the game is played so differently.
I cannot play as her, she's tough to master and I just don't have the time to put in to learn her, but I've gotten a lot better at playing against her.
Advice from a former Nurse main: Plaid Flannel is a great learning add-on to understand and "absorb" the way her blink travels. The rest is just knowing how survivors think and play. Nurse is probably the only killer for whom you need to play both sides to truly master.

Ok enlighten me, what are her counters, which she cant outplay easily with her kit, cause every good Nurse ive faced, destroys the team easily, only cases which is otherwise is a heavily indoor map like Hawkins and R.P.D where she struggles, everywhere else she is basically a god.
Like I said, the best way to learn her counters is to play her, see what it feels and looks like from her perspective, then think about how you'd counter her. If you run into survivors like me, who know her weaknesses, that's going to help a lot too.

I know she takes skill, but the reward is extremely high.

That's not what I said, at all. I'm saying that just because you see changes in one area and not another doesn't mean that the devs think the other area doesn't matter. If what people on the forum are saying is true, the situation on console is unacceptable. However, the devs work in teams, so just because one team creates new content doesn't mean another isn't working on optimization.

That's because a lot of survivors think like you.

Fact is, there is a lot you can do, but it requires changing the way you play. The best advice I can give you is to play as the Nurse, see what it's like, and then try to develop strategies against her that work for you.

Yes? That's normal for every piece of software. If you dedicate 100% of your coders to fixing the same problem, it actually takes longer to fix because each programmer has their own idea of how to fix it, their own approach, and they're going to spend days debating over which is best. "Too many cooks in the kitchen", as it were. You never dedicate 100% of your programmers to fixing the same issue, that's just begging for trouble.

Ya I definitely think newer perks have a lower percentage chance of showing up. Not a single Binding of Kin or All Kill perk made it into the anniversary shrines and only Hoarder has been in the shrine since those chapters came out. I do not want to buy/support those chapters since they were released extremely unfinished/unpolished/buggy/broken so I've been waiting for those perks to hit the shrine. To be honest, I should have done the same with the Resident Evil chapter. I'm very suspicious that not all perks are equally weighted, which seems highly deceptive of them.
Yes, they do, because there are more perks overall now than there were before. That's how probability works. See my example below.

You mean the oldest licensed characters have had their perks appear more often than newer ones? Why is that in any way surprising?
Think of an opaque bag with numbered balls 1-10. If I keep drawing them, then putting them back in the bag, I have a 1/10 chance to draw any one of them, right?
Now say I drew them 100 times and every ball 1-10 was drawn between 8 and 12 times. Now you add a new ball, numbered 11, and I draw them 100 times yet again. Would you expect the 1-10 balls to have fewer total draws than the 11th, keeping in mind the 100 previous draws without ball 11?

Person gets a set of rules on what perks are not allowed to appear and they pick at random following those rules. It's not done through code so they can pick for events/rift challenges/ or themes.
If a human were picking these, you wouldn't see randomness like we have, because our brains inherently seek out patterns and connections in random data. Humans do not have an inherent understanding of probability and randomness.
This is why a shuffle feature (for some Apple product, I believe) actually had to be made less random so it would feel more random, because people didn't understand that randomness means you can get 10 songs from the same band or artist in a row (especially if that band or artist is featured more often on their playlist), so they had to make the shuffle actively avoid doing that (i.e.: make it less random) because otherwise people would make the non-existent connection between two songs and conclude that the shuffle "wasn't" random.

The first time Candyman speaks in the first film is an experience that sticks with you until the day you die.

You're doing yourself a disservice by not watching, at the very least, the first film.

They ARE comparable in terms of strength, if not mathematically then statistically.
On nurse maybe lethal is overall better, but on all the other killers 4 coup de grace stacks and 1 at the end are much stronger, because you can win so many more mindgames with it, and even 1 single stack would be better than lethal pursuer.
Once you've seen the not being repaired gens at the start, you already know which are the other ones they're repairing.
They ARE comparable in terms of strength, if not mathematically then statistically.
"Strength" in what regard, though? Lethal Pursuer is much stronger if your goal is to find survivors when the trial starts.

"Enduring has appeared over 20 times, Agitation 20 times, Adrenaline 16 times, Sprint Burst 17 times, Shadowborn 16 times etc."
Know what all these perks have in common? They belong to the base game characters, they literally are the ones that had the most chances to appear in shrines compared to any newer perks, which is only exacerbated by the fact that back then, there were far fewer teachables the shrine could pick from than nowadays, so of course there was a lot of repetition with those.
Another fun fact: the Shrine was introduced in the same month when we got our first licensed characters, Shape and Laurie, meaning that their perks inherently had a lower chance to appear compared to non-licensed ones. Overall, we have fewer licensed characters (and therefore perks) than original ones.
-
There are two rules to the Shrine:
- 2 survivor perks and 2 killer perks will appear
- If perks are required for the current Tome challenges, they will appear (on the first week or something like that)
Other than that, it's random. You can check the following wiki article to see how often each perk has appeared:

Well I'm trying to get people to click on the discussion lol so a controversial title is the best way to do it.
Also a good way to make it seem like more people want the Wraith nerfed. You know, in case the devs don't open every single thread to see if one of them might have a clickbait title.
-
I still think the Candyman DLC release was postponed because it was supposed to match the film's release, which is why the Twins were so buggy.
Regardless, I'm sure the devs have their eye on Candyman and have approached Tony Todd about voicing him (because Candyman without Tony Todd is like a sandwich without the bread - sure, the rest is still tasty, but it's not a sandwich any more).
-
Their effects are not comparable at all. It sounds like you just find survivors easily at the start, which is why Lethal Pursuer seems worse to you.
-
Nurse. There's nothing quite like hearing that scream and realize you're about to meet your match (or your maker). It saddens me that many people want her nerfed instead of embracing the different gameplay and learning how to counter her.

No, you open up a support ticket. I don't have the link with me, but I'm sure someone else can post it.
Note that it is imperative that you also report them in-game at the end of the trial, no matter what. If you don't do that, then your report will be thrown out.

If you're being held hostage, just open up any recording software, record it for a while, then report them and send the video to the mods.

Well I live in America where we have freedom of speech. Racial slurs and what not should be allowed in a society of free speech, I don't like it, i think it is abhorrent, but the more this is allowed to be in the light the more it is ridiculed by the people.
Now with that said this is a company and they can stipulate anything they want as even if they were an American based company they don't need to follow the constitution at all. We all enter into an agreement when playing this game to follow their rules and if you don't like it don't play. Now with that pointed out "No Way" seems like a far reach of low hanging fruit, just like
Loop, looping are also censored words I have run into that make no sense. I think they are going a bit to strong, and I feel that BeHv is trying to protect against the woke or is woke. But the reporting system can certainly cover most of those situations rather than trying to censor words that the minority will cry about. I mean you can censor the obvious N word, Curse Words, Racial slurs of any type, these are common.
But lets face it even though I love their game their response into situations are poor at best. I been playing for about a month... maybe a little longer now that I think about it, regardless a few days in I was streaming and caught a speed hacker on my stream we clipped it and sent Behavior the links. it took till just the other day to get an email that stated, thanks for the report we will be looking into this. Can you imagine if they had to deal with every cry baby that thought their precious feelings were offended upon?
So the end result of this is I may not like all the BS censored words but I think that it is the better part of the solutions. Maybe open a ticket with support about it they may be able to shed some light as to why or find it was in error.
Free speech applies to the government, not private venues. You should read your constitution more carefully, because it's irrelevant to this situation.
If you think something was censored that shouldn't be, just open a feedback thread, help the devs improve the filter.
