Might just be the "bot" accounts from brazil, check the accounts before they leave the lobby
That's just oddly specific. What would Brazilian bot accounts be doing in Italy anyway?
-
I would guess that they're getting connected to a "bad" server (i.e.: high ping), which is why they're dodging, and has nothing to do with you.

That's interesting, but it sounds abusable, especially when used in combination with Slippery Meat.

Maybe. And admittedly the cultural thing is neat. I just can’t help be a wee bit irked by it.
Culture is also why you and I (and most people) find it off-putting in the first place.

Do you know the significance of the number "4" in Korean culture?

I just dont understand why is it so hard for devs to make an option in Custom Game to play alone, on an empty map. Thats the only tutorial people asked them to do for years.
Probably because the game is built on the foundation that if only one person is on the map, the trial ends immediately, and changing that could cause problems (like trials not ending when only one person remains).

it does not really matter, if I was the only one who has problems I would think on fixing my internet or console, but it is clear that a fair amount of players are having a bad experience.
If someone is doing better I am obviously happy for them, but if you release a product, it has to work perfectly for anyone that can buy it, or this, or you clearly state that on certain consoles or older pc this game should not be used anymore.
That means simply being honest with clients.
No product that has ever been released works "perfectly". There isn't a single piece of software out there that doesn't have bugs.
Don't confuse a vocal minority on a forum for "a fair amount of players". Fact is, people who don't have problems with the game are much less likely to come to the forum to talk about how they're not having problems.

This is beyond ridicolous and I really think it is time they give us a clear explanation.
Could it be that other players simply have a different experience than yours?

That's a very bold assumtpion.
Feeling like an outsider or different to others is not a trait unique to lgbt, not even close to that. Not everything revolves around sexual preferences.
Orientation, not preference. A preference would be saying you like short men. Orientation would be exclusively liking men.

I may be wrong about this, but I thought I read during an AMA that the devs don't mention anything about any character's sexuality because they want the players to be able to determine it for themselves. Basically all of our headcanon and ships are possible, just not official.
This could be something that another user made up during the AMA though. I really can't remember for sure.
Then it was brought to their attention that they'd been giving away characters' sexualities since the Nurse, who was released a few months after the game itself, so they decided to stop purposefully excluding LGBT characters.

Actual sane LGBT people care about representation but good one, which means properly written characters.
Putting aside the fact that a loud minority is still a minority, as well as the fact that I see a lot more people complaining about them than I see them, that's not what anyone here is doing. There's no purpose to bringing that up here when nobody is doing that except to try to stir up controversy.

You could've just said "No".
With the amount of bots and false accounts on Twitter, I'd take anything you read there (from unverified accounts) as 100% false. Regardless, if you read that being espoused by certain accounts on Twitter, then engage with those accounts, don't bring it here and imply we're all asking for that.

As I said I am bi trans myself so don't you dare call me homophobic)
Question: Have you actually asked any LGBT people here what they want in regards to an LGBT character, or did you just rely on what other people were saying on the subject?

I'm not saying a reinstated penalty won't prevent any DCs, just not enough all by itself.
- It won't do anything to address the ones due to technical reasons for starters.
- It won't do much for the DCs due o toxic behaviour of other players. Because eff any penalty when you feel sort of abused. (Could blame he commu nityor lack of in-game policing).
- As a sole measure it won't be enough to combat some of the fundamental issues leading to many, albeit not all DCs (Some ppl are just archetypical dung-heads, can't change human nature.)
- If ppl DC on purpose (a lot), it's a sign they're not having fun (any more) for some reason. 90%+ of the time it's not likely in order to troll you as another participant in the trial. So you want to FORCE them to continue doing something unfun in a game? GL with that.
I'm not saying a reinstated penalty won't prevent any DCs, just not enough all by itself.
And nobody's saying it will be enough by itself either. So it seems like we're in agreement.

I guarantee you, you've lost more new players because they got camped/tunneled out of a game so just left only to get penalised for the experience.
The players leaving because of no d/c penalty a small minority.
I'm a survivor main. There are five players in each trial, four of whom are survivors. When you DC, you're ruining the trial for four other players.
If DC penalties were so easily bypassed, we wouldn't have DCers try to convince people otherwise.

I was talking in the context of the invisible swing. It's easier to see that she actually short blinked and got the hit before reappearing because sometimes you'll actually run into her and get bodyblocked.
I know what you meant. Her landing area has a hitbox. It's one of those things you don't know about unless you play her.

The whole issue about DC penalties comes down to the matter WHY people do it. Make the penalty as harsh as a 1-week- ban or even a 1-month one., it likely won't save everything. Or much at all. There will still be DCs, might they be technically-induced or otherwise.
Personally, if some other players, may they be playng killer or survivor, bug me enough to make me voluntarily DC, a penalty won't change that. I'd rather take the ban than endure for minutes after minutes some gameplay that feels like punishment instead of fun. And yeah, we don't have e.g. a blacklist to address this issue.
At the end of the day, you can't force people to play a game/match/trial they don't enjoy (any more). Not to an extended degree. For a clear example: the other 3 survivors DC'd before much at all happened. You expect me to stay around as sole survivor thereafter for... something? Not going to bother. I'd rather take whatever penalty and if need be even leave the game for a month or whatever.
If you can't relate to that, you're either still having fun in that very situation or simply are a glutton for punishment.
DCers DC because there is no penalty and they feel entitled to ruining everyone else's trial just because they didn't like something that happened (not the "right" killer, they were found/downed first - or at all - and so on). If you tried to remove all the reasons why people DC, you'd just remove the game.
If the DC penalty didn't do anything, DCers wouldn't try to convince everyone that DC penalties were useless.

the best one is you can't even type "kill", in a game about killing. So whenever I say something like "you got a good kill" or "I finally killed you" it ends up looking like I'm insulting the user and then there's an awkward exchange as I try to explain what I wrote. Can't write killing in a game about killing. Joke of a system.
Obviously they didn't want people saying "#########", but surely they could censor the word "kill" if its followed by "yourself"/"urself" etc., but no best just censor the word "kill" instead...
I can type "kill" just fine.
-
@Bwsted said:
I would have to see footage for a specific case.
However, there's indeed a bug where she can swing before being visible on the survivor's screen. Sometimes the survivor even gets an invisible bodyblock. It's possible she short blinked when you double back and then had the bug upon lunging.
I can't tell if the blink is tied to latency.
The invisible body block is not a bug, it's how her power works.

The report feature is totally useless b/c BHVR doesn't review them. When they do they demand video which means any console players are just sol b/c we can't submit video or type comments in the report. You would think at least for those platforms where they can provide the detail BHVR would review their internal DB logs of the match in question. But who knows what goes on. I get the impression they have like 2 people working that department part time. It isn't worth the resource investment to the devs no matter how horrible an entire block of the community is.

DbD is unstable. It'll always have issues, right now it just has more than usual. Next time there's an update that causes crashes, they'll have to disable DC penalties again, and again there'll be a huge rise in people disconnecting on purpose. Bots would mean no having to disable and re-enable the penalty, and it would mean people who are disconnected because of the game's own shortcomings aren't unfairly punished. Bots would solve some of the other issues like DCing to give a teammate the hatch or to deny the killer a BBQ stack. And killers would no longer be able to DC to deny anything to survivors. That would give players less of a reason to DC.
Bots would mean that those matches where there is a disconnect aren't ruined; penalties don't help those matches, they just make them less common, but that doesn't make someone who waited in a long queue feel any better.
It's better to improve the game than to focus on punishing people. Do I think it's okay to disconnect because you don't like the killer? Hell no. But punishing people for disconnecting doesn't make anyone happier, it doesn't make the people left behind in the match happier. Decent bots could improve the experience, and I think that's important.
Bots are not the same as humans. Even games with bots still punish DCers. If they don't want to play the game they paid for, then they can go play something else instead of ruining everyone else's trials.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
I can almost guarantee BHVR's doing this so they can re-enable DC penalties.
No one ever considers the greater consequences of their actions. If players refrained from disconnecting so much, penalties would not be necessary. Instead, BHVR wants to get those back on as soon as possible (we know this because they tried to re-enable them the other day, even though performance issues weren't fixed and RPD was back in the mix). With the Switch still crashing, though, they can't re-enable DC penalties. If however Switch is kept separate from the rest of the platforms, then the other platforms can have the penalties re-enabled while Switch keeps them off. That's why the Switch isn't getting the 5.1.0 update tomorrow with future fixes to come.
BHVR should've implemented bots instead of the damn DC penalties. If disconnected players were replaced with bots, this wouldn't be an issue.
Ugh, maybe I'm wrong, but this is the reasoning that makes the most sense for postponing the Switch update. Disconnects not only ruin individual matches but now they're screwing over an entire platform. Thank you to everyone who thought it was cool to abuse the lack of a penalty while it was disabled because it obviously wouldn't have a larger impact.
Seriously, the Switch playerbase is not big enough to have cross-play disabled. BHVR could at least postpone the Bloodhunt, Switch users will still experience the poor performance and crashes and they'll have a much harder time getting matches.
Sorry, don't mind my ranting. Like I said, I'm a bit upset about this, and my friend's having his post-Switch-DbD-purchase regrets again, which kinda makes me feel bad since he bought the game just to play it with me.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2384377#Comment_2384377
Np.
Hopefully they get it done quickly, but I personally don't have high hopes for that. Man it'd be nice if they surprise me, though.
DCing would still be an issue, with or without bots. DCers shouldn't be let off the hook just because there are bots.

I agree, I think if they perfectly optimize DBD on every platform it's on, DBD on Switch will be able to run at a stable 1080p 30fps docked and 720p 30fps undocked, or even 720p 60fps.
God DBD Switch running at 720p 60fps would be a dream come true.
720p 30 FPS is probably the best you can hope for. The Switch is pathetic in terms of hardware. I know of a dev from another game, Hellpoint, who complained about having to optimize the game for the Switch because of how crappy the hardware is.
Apparently, its GPU clock speed when undocked is in the hundreds of MHz (I think 300 MHz, but I'm not sure). For comparison, a GTX 750 has a clock speed of about 1 GHz.
