To be fair lot of people were making tons of threads of Candyman.
Does not bother me at all since just gonna be covered up again by newer discussions but I do like to see opinions on what everyone has.
[Edit] Also yes I am in for Springtrap since why not.
"Were" being the operative word. Nobody's making them all that much. FNAF threads, on the other hand, are borderline spam at this point, IMO. They all start and end the same way, there's no unique perspective, it's all been said and done.

It is annoying it's an items we bought in bloodweb and that we decided to bring as our help imagine if I could smack killers weapon out of hands? He can't hit survivor right? Same as I can't heal with no medkit because someone else randomly smacked it out of my hand perk is fine but by far it's most obnoxious one in my book at least
Look at this way:item+add on+add on
Price in total:10-20k bp and wasted because killer smacked me randomly
And with current gain 20k bp takes us whole match to earn
That's the killer's job, though, to stop you from doing whatever you want.
The whole point of playing survivor is that you're the victim, whose life is in the hands of a killer, not the aggressor. And the point of playing killer is that you're the aggressor, who's trying to kill everyone.
-
As a survivor main, I don't understand this either. It's not like items are rare or anything, any bloodweb is going to be littered with them.

Well i am here trying to find solution for it and you are just saying it wont work but you dont give reason :D but dont you think facecampping should be punnished somehow? Or that devs should find solution for it cos atm this game invites trollers to spread their misery in this game.
I'm not giving you reasons because you have no idea how often this suggestion comes up and how repetitive the discussions are. Here's the algorithm. Note that "you" and "I" are just placeholders for "whoever suggested this" and "whoever is pointing out that it's a bad idea":
- I say it's been tried before.
- You ask when. If I already mentioned when, skip to 4.
- I say when.
- You come up with a slight variation that doesn't address the basic problems of the original idea. Alternatively, you claim that your suggestion is actually different, even though it has the same basic problems.
- I point out that your slight variation doesn't address the basic problems of the idea. Alternatively, I point out that your suggestion isn't different where it matters and shares the same basic problems of the original idea.
- At this point, most people will insist that it can be done, or that at least they're trying to come up with a solution (like you're doing - and here I do mean you, specifically).

So you think facecampping is not bad? And you think devs are trying to fix it?
No, I think what I already said twice: any killer punishment based on proximity to the hook is bad. Don't try to extrapolate further than that.

Then why asking for those if it can be fake and so they ignore? Can’t they jest check your previouly matched players and see if the data of the video and report info is correct? (Steam used to do that when P2P and when dedicated servers came in devs said that allowed them to collect more data than before and start developing the dc penalties)
Because when you report, certain data is recorded for later review that can validate the video. Think of it like two factor authentication, if you will.
@killerpiller said:
@Orion well okay there is obviosly some reasons that i dont understand that hook distance thingy would not work but so you are saying devs ######### up desining the game and cannot fix it or dont want to?
No, I'm saying any killer punishment based on proximity to the hook is bad.
-
@killerpiller said:
@Orion umm no? Like the timer can be like 50 seconds? If he stays 50 seconds near the hook lets say 10 meters its gonna be facecampper 100% of the time. Like it does not affect gameplay to normal players? Normal killers hook survivors and leave or scan the area for maybe 20-30 seconds to find possible rescuer. (notice i said before last gen is done) so explain to me hows that gonna be bad? Cos if there is legit good reason i wont be so tilted cos it feels like they are allowing it.
I'm not going to debate this, it's been suggested way too often and I'm honestly tired of going through the same arguments over and over again.
Using hook proximity to punish killers is not a good mechanic and was objectively proven to be flawed. Just look up any other thread where hook-proximity-based mechanics have been suggested.

Uhm, they ask you their steam ID for a reason and in my video their profile and link was visible
You can easily fake all that. An in-game report cannot be faked and allows the devs to do something about it.

You replied to me, that you didn't read most of what I wrote, yet you still have a opinion on what I posted? I might not be the best with forming proper sentences, but what I wrote is readable to the person that mentioned me back so there is no need to then start calling out my English, that's so rude. I only asked you to read it. You have no problem reading other threads with poor English and bad spelling, yet you have a problem with my posts English?
You called out my English first. Anyway, I'm done replying to you, this is getting off-topic.

You @ me without reading what I said and then went on to moan about my writing when others can read what I say. There is not point replying if you haven't read what I said in the first place, that's just ignorant.
I already explained that I literally can't read that and told you that I hadn't read it, in the interest of being open and honest. Note that I haven't insulted you once, but so far you've implied I can't read and are now calling me ignorant.

My bad there tbh. I was speaking generally and I wasn't trying to say you specifically are thrashing anyone. Bad wording.
But reading through these threads you see a lot of other people actually doing it.
And no one wants others to immediately agree with them. I'm not a huge FNAF fan. I played one game. But from these discussions I see FNAF fans or people who want FNAF being a lot more respectful. That's all.
My bad there tbh. I was speaking generally and I wasn't trying to say you specifically are thrashing anyone. Bad wording.
It's alright. English is a very simple language, so that stuff happens quite often.
But reading through these threads you see a lot of other people actually doing it.
I see a lot more people being reasonable, though.
And no one wants others to immediately agree with them.
I disagree. I've actually been put down, insulted, and so on, for daring to express that I don't want FNAF in DbD.

You have no clue who I am and why I type the way I do? I don't have the best phone either, not all of us are you. You're just petty to be frank and you're not worth my time anymore.
You're the one who essentially accused me of not knowing how to read properly, but I'm the one being condescending? Alright then.

The thing is you and plenty of other people keep resorting to "we are just sharing our opinions, same as you and everyone else", but then keep pushing other people down for their way of thinking.
No one is saying you have to agree that FNAF should come to the game, but not trashing others for wanting it would be nice.
Where did I trash anyone? Where did I push down anyone?
Regarding the person I was replying to, I made a comment that put aside my dislike of FNAF, its supposed popularity within the DbD community, and everything else, yet I was still accused of "shutting down others" or whatever.
IMO, it seems like you just want everyone to immediately agree with your statements and support your ideas, no matter what their true opinions are.

I'm not asking you to accept what I'm saying, but I'm also not asking for you to shutdown my opinion just because you don't understand it. If you don't like fnaf, alright but don't @ me on why I'm wrong. Because there is no wrong or right when it comes down to taste.
Who's shutting you down? I'm addressing you, talking to you, the same way you're talking to me. What's the point of posting if you just expect people to never reply to one another, like we're all just shouting into the void? This is a forum, it's a place for communication.

If you understand English, comma's and fullstops it really isn't that hard to read.
Then I guess I'm not reading it. Why should I when you don't put in the bare minimum effort to make it readable?
Since we're on the subject of English, it's "commas". There is no plural in the English language that uses an apostrophe followed by an "s". Or in most languages, for that matter.
I understand English just fine (C2 here), but that's not the only thing that matters when it comes to readability.

Sorry I keep going on, I'm not great with long paragraphs, in terms of open minded. I don't see it as you have to accept what I am saying, open minded means you can see why someone else would think that way, you don't need to accept what i say, only understand why I might feel that way, just like I can understand why you want candyman
I do understand. It's a game you like and you consider it horror. Since other licenses have been added to DbD, you want that one as well. I still don't want it.
Just because I understand doesn't mean I have to want what you want.

I gave up on reporting in this game. After 2 months of wait reporting ingame a killer with hacked legacy I ended reporting via ticket, when 2 weeks later they took action and finally banned this individual.
I said “ok that’s it” after making a report via ticket with video evidence of hacker flying around the map and freezing me in the middle of the shack forcing me to DC and eat the penalty. During that patch, there were a lot of saving errors after finishing a match not letting ne enough time to report ingame. After sending the ticket and waiting again 2 weeks for an answer, they told me that they couldn’t do anything because I selected “no” in the question “did you report ingame too?”
Honestly a lazy and useless support team.
If there's no in-game report, how are they supposed to find the player out of the millions of trials that are played each day? Magic? Hell, how are they supposed to know you didn't just get someone else to change their name and hack because you want another player banned?

Make it readable and I will. I'm not refusing to read it out of spite or whatever, I legitimately cannot read that thing.
Look at how I typed and how 99% of people type. We separate our points by paragraphs. This aids readability and makes it more likely that people will read your comments.

Well why wont they make it so if the killer stays near the hook (before last gen is done) for too long the entity stuns him for like 15-20 seconds so there is some kinda opportinity to save from facecampping bubba?
Any mechanic based on proximity to the hook is inherently flawed, as was demonstrated during their test of just such a mechanic back in the first PTB.

People seem to shut down anything they don't want in DBD. This community is so closed minded it's unreal. I don't like some chapters, however I can see how others like those chapters and see how they work. I've had insults thrown at me for simply saying if others worked why can't fnaf. Just because you can't possibly see something and you don't like the chapter idea, it doesn't give anyone the right to start being quite frankly rude and dismissive of the idea. Some of the people arguing that fnaf wouldn't fit, are the same people that posted about trickster and how others needed to quote "get over it" if adding a fnaf chapter in this game is what kills this game, then it speaks of the community and not the chapter itself. I'd rather we receive originals. I really want their to be more folklore in the game, vampires and werewolves, man. I even think mothman would be a good idea. It might come across like I'm defending fnaf, which I partially am, but for the most part the only reasons I've seen is that kids flock around Fnaf, which in all honesty. Kids should not be playing or watching fnaf at all. I certainly wouldn't be letting my child watch that #########. The other reason I was given is that there is no possibility of a power or perks, which is just closed minded to say, many have made concepts and many have had ideas without posting about it. Anyway, I'd rather we have a licence that centres around folklore, however I would be happy if they added fnaf. I would be unhappy like others if they made springtrap like the other killers or did a lazy job of the springtrap chapter. The difficulty with a fnaf chapter, would be the Devs and team would have to put a lot of work into making fnaf unique. Trickster was a let down imo. They were lazy and gave him throwing knives, when they could of made a power music based or sound based.
Full disclosure: I didn't read that full wall of text, just the first two sentences.
People are sharing their opinions, same as you and everyone else. Most people don't want FNAF, it's that simple. Having that opinion and sharing it is not being "closed-minded". I told you already that "open-minded" doesn't mean you automatically accept anything someone else tells you.
-
It's allowed because there's no way to prevent it that doesn't also screw over every other killer. The killer should be allowed to stop you from unhooking, that's all there is to it.
There is indeed a DC penalty in place.
@Junylar said:
Reports doing anything is an urban legend. There hasn't been any evidence provided that anyone has ever been banned after an in-game report.
Blatantly false. Evidence is presented quite often, but it's overshadowed by how many people spread the myth that reports don't do anything.
-
Yes, when you report for things that are actually against the rules and provide evidence when needed. Face camping isn't against the rules, so nothing will be done about that. It's the DbD equivalent of calling the cops on someone because they're not speeding.
-
There's a difference between idea/prediction posts and people advertising the license they want, then getting mad when everyone else doesn't like/want it.
I've seen many idea/prediction posts that went perfectly fine. Hell, I wrote one of them. It's when it goes from "I hope it's X" or "Here's a concept for X" to "X should be in the game and here's why, also if you don't support me you're being [insert negative thing here]" that we have a problem.
It also doesn't help when people who want something are blatantly dishonest (for example, claiming something is "wanted", even though the reactions are mostly negative) or spam multiple threads on the same subject to fake consensus.
-
You can still report it, though.

Yes but in competitive games fun usually takes the backseat in favor of skill based gameplay first and fun as a more secondary objective.
Again, they are not mutually exclusive concepts. For many people, "fun" is the skill-based gameplay.

You said the Killers were inherently bad. Many people think Trapper is unplayable, certainly not S tier yet, a skilled player can win with him.
No, you're asking why we can't have mediocre killers. Implicitly, you're asking for killers who are inherently capped so no matter how good a player is, their performance will be limited by the character (i.e.: inherently bad killers). Again, don't change the subject to players' skills.

Post game chat is something different, I agree, but no one is being bullied by pixels in a video game, period.
Again, that completely disregards the fact that there are humans behind those pixels.
That is not what bullying is.
Please, do tell: what is bullying, and why is it impossible to do virtually?
And it makes actual situations of bullying seem less significant if people think not having fun playing DBD is bullying.

Just because BHVR doesn't listen to you doesn't mean they don't listen to the community. I can think of several times they have listened to the community. The DC Penalty is a good example. Much of the community wanted it back and for good reason and they listened.
A lot of people also conflate "listening to" with "doing exactly what people want, no matter what it is". The devs are humans, capable of independent thought. They can listen and disagree, like anyone else.

Source engine has an in-game demo recording feature. One simple console command to start recording and another one to stop. Both commands can be bound to keys.
But that's in Source Engine, which was released in 2004. We are in 2021 now, we live in the Dark Ages, how can we have these forgotten miraculous technologies of the Ancients? We can only dream of them.
I'm not saying the system is perfect, I'm just saying it's there, and DCing doesn't help. The mods can't act on reports that aren't sent.
-
If you'd recorded them, you could've reported them and helped get them banned, which would've helped to fix the reason why you DC'd.

YOU just want others to endure so that YOU get to do whatever. YOU are only thinking about YOURSELF. YOU want others to be frsutrated just so YOU can get your BP...YOU don't give a damn about whatever others might be enduring, YOU just want the match to go on no matter how BAD and miserable it might be for someone else. It's all about YOU...
Will you get sick (and potentially die, or at least suffer long-term effects), be enslaved, or have your country go to war if you don't DC? My guess is "No", so don't compare those things with a video game having a DC penalty. It's demeaning to the people who died of COVID, the people who were (and are) enslaved, and the people who fought and died in wars.

No one is being "bullied" by pixels in a video game.
Should I be allowed to DC without a penalty when a doctor slugs me when no one else is left and refuses to hook me? When they stand over me and just shake their heads at me and let me bleed out because I dared to play the game and be the last one alive? Should I be allowed to DC when my teammates body block me when I'm cleansing a totem, for instance, and we both get crows?
Don't act like killers are the only ones who have crappy games they'd like to move on from and are forced to stay in by the devs. At least you have End Game Collapse. Put on your big kid pants and open the gate.
No one is being "bullied" by pixels in a video game.
There are people behind those pixels, though. The OP may not be justified in their excuses to DC, but let's not pretend it's just "pixels in a video game" or "words on a screen". There are real humans on both sides of the screen interacting with each other.

If you hit a survivor as the Nurse, your recovery period is technically longer because it includes the post-hit cooldown.

Absolutly but then you're agreeing with me that not all DC are just bad sport players. There's a reason DC penalties were turned off during this chapter right? Guess what people are still having issues so why is the DC penalty back already before the problems are solved? Clearly the problems aren't solved, they jsut want to keep people lokced in matches afraid of not playing because of the DC penalty. They're forcing people to either endure the issues or not play. It's as simple as this.
I'm not agreeing with you on anything. You're trying to muddle the issue by lumping people with legitimate issues in with people who purposefully DC, even though we're just talking about the latter. They're not the same thing, and you know it.

Until you can say why they DC'ed you can't tell they will ruin another match, that's the point. THeres so manny reasons a DC can happen and you're all going the DC'er is BAD SPORT, can't take a loss, bla bla bla... That's not true, that's not what i experience. I don't have manny Survivors DC on me and if i ever DC is because of game breaking performance issues, wich are not my fault.
Performance should remain more or less the same in any situation. If you're DCing so much due to "performance" that it becomes a problem, then you should probably wait until the game is better optimized.

You for real? A DC can happen for any reason and you're immediatly accusing the DC of bad sport, that's what you're doing, you're being toxic, yes. You don't have to care for their feelings but you can't tell why they DC'ed either so why should they be banned regardless of motive? If power goes out, if internet goes out, if game crashes, etc are you saying these things should punish you still? Wow very considerate of you.
We're obviously talking about people who DC on purpose, hence the term "DCer" (meaning "disconnecter", meaning "someone who disconnects (on purpose)"), as opposed to "crasher". Don't act like this wasn't obvious.

I'm not accusing you of anything, you said " DCer can ruin another trial." you don't know if they will ruin another trial cause you don't know the first DC happened.
You're accusing me of being toxic because I'm not thinking of the poor DCer's feelings, even though DCers are already inherently toxic. It's like the paradox of tolerance, but with DCers.
For the record, though, I didn't even say they would ruin another trial, I just said they could (which they can, by DCing).

You're assuming the person will DC again, until you know why they DC'ed there's no reason to suspect that. So you're already acting on bad faith against anyone who DC's. Now that's Toxic.
You shouldn't try such basic rhetoric as accusing me of what DCers do. It really doesn't work.

what's toxic about DC'ing? If they found a reason to DC then let them, you don't lose anything, only the DCer does. The only thing you can complain about is potential longer queues.
You lose the normal trial you queued up for while the DCer can ruin another trial.

How is it better? Yes, the amount of DCs is smaller now, but the amount of quits of any kind, including DC, suicides and plain AFKs, is the same. It just takes a bot longer to quit, and the unhooked quitters will just run around the map wasting pallets and throwing the game to punish their team for not letting them go from the first hook. Nothing is changed in essence.
If the amount is the same as before, then you've just proven what everyone said: the penalty works, because the amount of quitters actually increases when the penalty is disabled.
The best evidence that the penalty works is that DCers keep coming to the forum to try to convince everyone that it doesn't.

Last time I did MMR I played a meme build on Hag, got a 4 man bully squad which I didn't mind I lost too since I was just doing a meme end game build. Thats the problem is with match making the way it is you can't just 'move on and forget about it' you're kinda forced to play with high rank survivors even if you're just barely learning a killer. This is why survivor queue times are so high is because no one can just practice a killer or have fun because in higher ranks you're FORCED into a competitive sweaty environment.
Wait for MMR, then. That's what I'm doing.
