most of the playerbase play this game on PC it should already be known. 1st of all i'm on xbox and the person has cross play symbol. Playstation has limited names you can use. You cannot use a psn name with symbols or spaces. only _. pc and nintendo switch are the only platforms you are allowed to use ANY symbol and name for. but lets be real here. Do you think people play this game sweaty on nintendo switch at 30 fps and the fps isnt consistent. So they are obviously PC players. Also PC is the only platform that has the MOST try hard sweats that take every flaw advantage the game has. for example. Full brightness in game, Stretched resolution. etc...

It's estimated, but not known, because console manufacturers are quite adamant about never giving away player numbers, for some reason.
1st of all i'm on xbox and the person has cross play symbol.
That just means they're not on whichever specific XBOX model you're playing on. DbD is available on two different versions of XBOX and PlayStation.

That's a good indicator, yes.
but lets be real here. Do you think people play this game sweaty on nintendo switch at 30 fps and the fps isnt consistent.
I think most people play to win (what you call "sweaty"), regardless of platform.
Also PC is the only platform that has the MOST try hard sweats that take every flaw advantage the game has.
Gonna need a source for that.
for example. Full brightness in game, Stretched resolution. etc...
Those are not flaws in the game, they're settings. Settings that you can change on a TV screen as well, as someone pointed out in another thread.

because some games I go against red Rank survivors that play the game normally and sometimes I go against try hard sweats that play the game PERFECTLY. We are human so it's impossible to play it perfect. seriously every mind game I do fails and they are on PC so it should be obvious as to why they did so well. Stretch resolution is the only answer. and it's not every game like I said. Only some games. It's very frustrating to go against these types of players. Full tryhard and full sweat taking advantage of stretch resolution and they are playing as a SWF. just imagine
How do you know they're on PC and not another console? Hell, how do you know they didn't just have a perfect game? Those happen from time to time.

It's already happening
Of course it's just shooters right now, but the fact it can be used in every platform is already worrying.
I might've known.
This is just like the "Macs can't get viruses!" claim that just ensured people using Macs took no precautions against malware, resulting in their systems becoming infected more easily.
There is no reason whatsoever why an operating system can't have malware. There is no reason whatsoever why a program cannot be hacked. Assume everything is vulnerable, doesn't matter if it's electronic, mechanical, or somewhere in between.

dont forget, no cheaters in console vs console
Fewer cheaters, not no cheaters. Cheating is possible on any device, it's just harder to do on some of them. With consoles becoming more and more like cheap, neutered PCs, I'd wager console cheating is about to explode.
-
If I'm not mistaken, they implemented this for the basement stairs, so killers can't block survivors from the stairs any more.

No, tunneling is not prohibited. No idea which trick you mean, but if it's not an exploit or a hack, it's allowed.

yeah i guess Devs would have to create a system so that you actually get DC penalty only if you hit the "leave game" button.
And then people pull their ethernet cable or turn off their wi-fi and for free DCs.

Ok well it might have been on tv in some countries or netflix or something that I have missed. I'm 43 and first time I heard the name was on this forum.
I watched it before Netflix was even a thing in my country.
-
- Ping fluctuates, it's not a constant number
- You're assuming you both have the same exact reaction time, which is most likely not the case. 38 ms sounds like it could very well just be a difference in reaction time

Action speed debuff. If two people are in swf, those two suffer action speed debuff of 15% on healing and repair. If its 3 or 4 people, than 3 or 4 people suffer the action debuff.
The biggest issue with swf is that they complete objective way faster than solo because they get many information perks for free to optimize healing & repair. The chases are about the same and rely on individual skill-level. In the end, SWF is just power-trip for survivor. A power-trip that is forbidden to talk about and that killers just have to get good.
Action speed debuff. If two people are in swf, those two suffer action speed debuff of 15% on healing and repair. If its 3 or 4 people, than 3 or 4 people suffer the action debuff.
That will also affect solo survivors who happen to be in a lobby with SWF.
-
There is no way to nerf SWF because the advantages inherent to SWF come from outside the game. If you were to try to nerf SWF, you'd just end up nerfing solo survivors.
-
BUT the main thing everyone wanted changed which was the exposed at the end of the game
Gonna need a source on that. The initial main complaint was that it lasted forever, which is why it was nerfed to only last 2 minutes. Then it was that the counter was to do nothing for 2 minutes, so it became a hex. It seems like the "main complaint", in truth, is just that it's a killer perk to punish survivors for never letting go of the gens.
the #1 most hated perk
Again, need a source for that. Self-Care was definitely more hated, as was Decisive Strike before its balance change.
Personally, what I hate about NOED is that survivors still won't cleanse totems, despite its existence. So what I hate about NOED isn't even related to NOED.

I don't report for "doo-doo head" words, I report for words in my langage (so : not in english).
These words are simple, they said in another language : [You know this bad word] your [choose one of your parent]
I report people for THESE words : but I have no feedback if they've been punished or not... Ban for 2 hours / 24h / 1 week / 1 month ? How does it work ?
You won't receive any feedback, nor will you see temporary bans on their profiles.
I can assure you that the reports are read, though. A while back, a user attempted to prove otherwise and essentially "dared" one of the people in charge of dealing with reports to post the content of the report. Said person did, and it was proven that the reports are actually handled.
Many people will claim otherwise, but I question someone who essentially says "Don't bother going to the police, they won't do anything anyway", because it just seems like trying to cover for criminals. If they're wrong, then the police actually do something. If they're right, then nothing will happen either way. There is no downside to reporting someone.
If you think the absence of feedback is suspicious, then know that it's easier to set up a fake automated "Your report totally did something" message than to create a website where you can send in additional information (should it be necessary).
-
You don't need to send screenshots of the chat, a simple report will do the trick. As for what will happen, it depends on what they said. Pretty sure they wouldn't ban someone for calling someone else a "doo-doo head", but if they start slinging racist slurs at people, that's different.

No, Steam user reviews. This is what I mean when you say things I didn't say and then act like I said them.
So i should simply quit until further notice?
If the game is unplayable for you, as you claim, then yes. That's just basic common sense and follows directly from what it means to be "unplayable".
And [BAD WORD] me and [BAD WORD] my money right? I don't get to play what i bought, fantastic. Can't even get refunds, amazing. [BAD WORD] the consumer.
The alternative is to continue supporting a supposedly broken product. Which do you think is best for you, the consumer?
EDIT: Besides, you yourself said you were quitting, right in your OP. Why is it only a bad idea when other people are proposing it?

Most reviews are positive, it was just a vocal minority of players who seemed to have a vested interest in trying to force CDPR to go under.
Yeah i definetly need to stop playing this cause it's definetly not worth it but i suppose that's good then right?
It's not good, no, but if the game "isn't performing at an acceptable level", then you definitely shouldn't accept its current state. Playing it just means you do accept it as it is, or at least believe the problems aren't that big of a deal.
i gotta say i was expecting that as your follow up.

So i should take crap and like it? I'm not justified in DC'ing when clearly the game becomes unplayable? I'm guessing you probably would play Cyberpunk at launch, or AC Unity, or insert whatever disastrous game... And i'm having issues across 2 platforms so clearly the problem isn't on me DC'ing because i can't play, clearly the problem is the game. If the game was alright i wouldn't be DC'ing. DC bans won't stop me from DC'ing whenever i have justification for it, what DC bans will do is make not play for longer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394416#Comment_2394416
What event? It was a Log In bonus and compensation for catastrophic chapter launch, there was no event, it was copy paste. They deliberatly lied about putting more focus on the big events, we have the proof to this right in front of us. Survivors weren't getting enough cake's compared to killers, not that it mattered much since game performance has been at an all time low, so the chances of cakes being wasted are absurdly high anyway... What nice thing has come out of the event?
So i should take crap and like it? I'm not justified in DC'ing when clearly the game becomes unplayable? I'm guessing you probably would play Cyberpunk at launch, or AC Unity, or insert whatever disastrous game...
I did actually play CP2077 at launch, because I didn't experience any of these big issues other people did.
And i'm having issues across 2 platforms so clearly the problem isn't on me DC'ing because i can't play, clearly the problem is the game. If the game was alright i wouldn't be DC'ing.
If you're DCing that much, then, clearly, the game is unplayable for you and you need to stop trying to play it. How many times do you need to burn yourself on a hot stove before you stop trying to touch it?

I'm guessing you didn't experience that many real-life emergencies (the only real justification for DCing), so if you want to know why the penalties are back, it's because of you and people like you, who feel justified in DCing for any reason.

Nobody said it's needed, they said it's wanted. Just like how we didn't need any of the killers besides the 3 we had at release. Hell, we didn't even need the game, for that matter. But those things are wanted.

Why are you so up in arms about this if you truly don't care?

Me, the people you're responding to and thousands of other people.
Just for the record, I don't actually care. However, it is because I don't care that I support it, since it won't negatively affect me (or anyone else, for that matter), but will make some people happier. There is literally no downside to this.
People who don't care about something can't also be actively against that thing. People who claim not to care but are actively against LGBT representation do care.

You need to calm down and not jump so fluently as you do on these sort of posts, the game has not been sexes at all, but really it is a game? it is not that vital or important for it to be jumped on, people wis and think to believe as they should. It is a fricken game who the hell cares! think I care what sex Abe is when I am on Abes new game.
Dodging the question and implying I'm the one with the problem so soon?
If the game didn't have sexes, I couldn't know that Jake and Dwight are men, nor that Meg and Claudette are women back when the game was released. You may not care, but other people do, as has been pointed out in every single thread of this nature. Again, what do you hope to gain by acting like this is new information?

Because they said, and I quote:

Note the word "changing".

I don't care and many others wont if Jake is gay, if he is, if people portray him as gay, fine, i don't know how this helps in the game, sex or gender shouldn't be a thing, if people say people as gay, straight etc my point is if people want or wish to believe in such then let them.
Too late, the game has had sexes since release (otherwise I couldn't know that the Trapper is a man, for instance), and sexual orientations since the Nurse.

Just because it's a fictional character doesn't mean there isn't an established lore. Harry Potter, for instance, isn't an Italian duke from the 14th century.

Interesting point. I must admit that I just pulled names of games that seemed popular out of my ear.
If these games have problems, and there really aren't any games that HAVE worked out hit registration to keep fans happy enough, then it can never get fixed.
I just remember being pretty happy with a few games like TF2 and Battlefront, at least enough that I didn't feel the need to look into whether or not it's being worked on and I could get on with having fun.
If these games have problems, and there really aren't any games that HAVE worked out hit registration to keep fans happy enough, then it can never get fixed.
Indeed it can't, because of the laws of physics. Information can only travel so quickly. It doesn't matter how perfect your code is, or how high your tick rate is, you cannot beat the laws of physics.
The only way you could potentially make it look like it's all working instantly is if everyone lived so close to the server and each other that the ping between any and all players is lower than any of their reaction times.

My guess is, you must've been playing very close to the server, and so were the other players.

You can solve for it in a way. You have to find a way to make it make sense for all players involved. Like in an online shooter, right? It's a little Hawking-ish, but you shoot at me and I move and you haven't seen me move yet and I haven't seen you shoot yet.
From your perspective, you shot dead on. From my perspective, I moved out of the way then you shot. Who was right? To your point, one has to be picked. Honestly, I don't know the solution but I DO know that there are tons of games out there with more players and faster reaction requirements that don't have these sync complaints. So there IS a solution to make the game FEEL right even if the math isn't right or perfect. We have to wait for Behaviour to MAYBE find that happy medium or, like some games, to just keep oscillating back and forth and pissing everyone off. Hopefully, they find a solution. Maybe hire someone from a Battlefield dev team or Fortnight or Apex Legends or something where this kind of hit validation is critical so they can find out how to make it work and keep their paying players happy.

I keep seeing videos of all those games from people complaining about hitboxes and hit registration. That's because there is one absolute and overriding factor here that no amount of programming can account for: the laws of physics.

Other suggestion would be just allow the remaining players to auto-forfeit the game.
DCs are so common - penalty or not - that I'd rather just end the game or see some balancing act to keep people in it to the end.
Nah. With the penalty, DCs are fairly rare.

They are already in regions that isn't brazil, I see them on U.S. servers so its not impossible for them to be in more places, as far as I know they either go between joining lobbies as swfs then 3 leave and 1 waits until 3 more survivors join then leave, or just as solo queue wait for the timer to go down to like ~10 seconds then leave, they are just here to clog up the queue
USA is relatively close and, at least, is in the western hemisphere. Italy isn't on either hemisphere as Brazil. There's really no comparison here.
My guess is, what you call "bots" are just suffering from the same problem as these survivors: they're connected to servers that are too far away, so they leave and rejoin the queue.
