Things that made the Legion fun:
- Running really fast in Feral Frenzy
- Vaulting stuff really fast in Feral Frenzy
- Reduced cooldown on missed hits while in Feral Frenzy
- Cold Dirt (because stuns aren't fun)
Things that were changed in the Legion:
- Reduced movement speed while in Feral Frenzy
- Reduced vaulting speed while in Feral Frenzy
- You get one missed hit per Feral Frenzy
- Increased the stun when you end Feral Frenzy and nerfed the add-ons that reduce said stun
And you wonder why these changes were not well received?
-
Not only is it an offering to the Entity, but it's also a heavily salted pudding. Even the Has has standards.
-
Why, exactly, do you think that a single survivor should have the upper hand in a 1v1 after the killer played well and killed everyone else?

No counterplay to stairs being blocked.
No counterplay to survivors rushing the hook with the gates powered and open.

More people need Jesus Christ. Period. No one is perfect and that's the point... ;)
Society in general is insane, and these younger people are "mostly" liberal insane people which drives poor judgement and poor behaviour.
The internet is big, and it helps a lot of people hide behind other identities. What if.... once a year you were faced to deal with someone you harassed in person? No laws. No police.
That would change people's tune.
Anyways. Christ saves all. He has risen and if more people believed... gaming... and LIFE in general would be a better place.
And you just had to bring religion, politics, and ageism into it.
######### are #########. They don't have a particular religious or political affiliation, nor do they have a particular age.

It never ceases to amaze me how we have this delightful and ingenious invention called the internet, which has the capacity to hold infinite knowledge at your fingertips and connect you with people across the globe in an instant, all while being eco friendly - and people take this gift and go “I think I’m going to be a giant cesspool of a person, feed into all my darkest traits and take joy from other people’s misery.”
That's why certain people shouldn't be allowed online.

The number it displays there are rounded to the nearest whole number for your viewing pleasure, but it can be a little deceiving since in reality they may not add up to 100%. To give an example, the 57% might be 56.7%, so you could have 99.7% out of 100%.
I'll let the team know. Perhaps it could round the number down to avoid confusion.
@Peanits There are problems both ways. Perhaps display the percentage relative to the total, as opposed to the maximum?

I'm not denying that. In the long run it won't matter. I'm just defending @brokedownpalace 's reason for being frustrated by it. For now it is different than regular slugging cause it's currently rampant.
Thing is, you don't know what his reason is. He hasn't said it, even though I asked.

I think the difference is that people are doing it more often currently cause they get a fancy kill animation. For a survivor having that happen repeatedly it'll get annoying in comparison to pre update when it would happen only occasionally.
We all knew this would happen shortly after the EGC was released. It was the same in the PTB. Gotta give it some time before people get bored.

There's a difference between slugging for the 4k and slugging just for the sake of waiting out 4 minutes and wasting everyone's time.
True, but OP is making the argument that letting everyone bleed out with the EGC is fundamentally different from letting everyone bleed out without the EGC. I tried to understand what they believe the difference is, but, well, you can see how that went.

Haven't we already established that I don't argue with you? It just goes in circles.
Maybe you have said something to that effect, but I don't remember such a discussion nor your name. Regardless, I'm trying to understand why you believe slugging is different now even though it lasts the same length of time and has a cool death animation to top it off.
-
Which part of my statement do you have a problem with?

@brokedownpalace said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/462735#Comment_462735
Yes but it's pretty clear what the difference is now.
It lasts 4 minutes either way. The only difference is that you get to experience the cool new death animation.
-
You mean slugging? That's been a thing since the game was released.

Yeah, and the alternative "Gespenst" is taken by Spirit as well. Wonder if the translator might have to take some freedom this time.
"The Mask"
And then sued into oblivion by WB.
-
@twistedmonkey Yeah, after they threw in potatoes into the upper ranks by lowering the pip requirements. The 80% is explained by the way they acquired the data, but the 60% has only one explanation: survivors are too powerful, and it shows when you pit the top survivors against the top killers.
-
Why should it give you a token? You didn't hook them, did you?

Right.... so I if Myers was wearing jeans and t-shirt then it would fine because the "clothes aren't significant"
Yes, actually.
When people see Ghostface's mask, they think "Ghostface/Scream". When people see Ghostface's clothes (the cloak), they probably think "Harry Potter". The mask is the important part.
-
@friendlykillermain All you're doing is making sure nobody will ever listen to you or anyone who feels the same way you do. Stop ruining things for everyone else.

Apart from the mask it looks nothing like ghostface. Looks like an assassin's creed outfit with a ghostface mask.
The mask is the iconic bit. The clothes are not so significant.

What's the problem, exactly? I think the leaked version looks cool.

exactly. They aren't really testing anything. They are showing us stuff.
Sure, if something is really really wrong, it gets fixed. But let's be honest. They knew about those problems before they showed them to us.
I honestly think they need more Devs. Because the lack of people working on this project is the only explanation i have for the following.
Refusing to hotfix legion mending exploit, and instead banned people.
Refusing to do more then 1 iteration of PTB before a build goes live.
Choosing between live streams and "community events"
They did actually do more than one iteration of the PTB. Remember how the EGC timer was set to 2 minutes instead of 3 and how they tested different gate opening times?
-
I'm more worried about the fact that the Wraith is called "The Ghost" in German, which will create confusion.
-
@Broosmeister So because players choose not to counter something and rightfully suffer its effects, it should be removed?
In that case, I want pallets to break after they've been dropped. I don't want to hit the space bar. Survivors should just adapt. Good survivors don't need to use pallets after they've been dropped.
Do you see how ridiculous that sounds?
-
@Peanits Any ETA on the Q&A?

@not_Queen summer is already gone, how are you aiming to release it on summer? Will you guys go back to the past and release the servers 1 or 2 months ago? LOL
You know exactly what she means, why are you pretending otherwise?
-
@Peanits But what did you actually change? The patch notes aren't clear and I don't have time to play DbD to check.
-
The Plague is at least 4000 years old, if we were to measure the time that passed from her birth until now. However, time in the Entity's realm doesn't work the way we're used to.
-
@darktrix "You were matched up against players who are much weaker than you and, naturally, stomped them to oblivion. This is obviously not what we want, so we're gonna keep you at the same rank, which will guarantee you're matched with more players like that."
If this is working as intended, I'd like to see what happens if it's not working as intended.
-
@BlackReaper Boring and annoying for whom? I'm not a Legion main, but I had a lot of fun running around and vaulting stuff really fast. The increased recovery from missed attacks was also fun, since it allowed me to play around with survivors. They took away what made the Legion fun by reducing vaulting speed, reducing Feral Frenzy speed, and the increased recovery from missed attacks.
-
Infinite loading screen is caused by a variety of issues, which is why they explicitly said they'd only fixed some instances of infinite loading screen.
-
@Peanits said it'd take a while for PS4, but that they were having problems with Xbox.

Hey, I'm not the one who defined what "holding the game hostage" means. Regardless, this won't affect me anyway since I don't block the basement.
-
It wouldn't be holding the game hostage by the devs' own definition of the term, except in a very specific situation.
-
@Peanits Can you be more specific about the changes that were made regarding the basement stairs?
-
@Peanits The problem is that an average drawn across all ranks (all skill levels) doesn't guarantee something is balanced. That's why we (players) always ask for kill rates to be separated by rank. If newbie survivors get killed too often, or if newbie killers don't kill enough, that skews the average.
Just averaging everything is irrelevant. If you look at the average salary of an Amazon employee, for example, it's in the neighborhood of 100k/year. Does this mean each employee is paid enough? No, because the guys at the top earn many times that amount and heavily skew the data.
You need to hire someone who does statistics so they can work out the medians, figure out the cause of kill rates analyzing more data, and so on. An average drawn from all ranks is just utterly useless if your goal is to balance the game around a majority of trials having 2 kills and 2 escapes. You need to look at medians and standard deviations; not just averages.
-
@Bravo0413 Thank you. Fixed.
-
Holding the game hostage means there's no way for the trial to end unless one or more players disconnect. The EGC will fix most instances by making sure the trial will end, eventually.
Even now, there are times that blocking survivors in a dead-end (most commonly the basement) does not constitute holding the game hostage. If they have active (or soon-to-be active) RBTs, for example, they will die, eventually.
-
Strategies are strategies. My goal as killer is to kill and as survivor is to survive. I draw the line at exploits, which I won't ever do.
-
It is extremely difficult to balance an asymmetrical game due to the asymmetrical nature of the game. The main problem is that the numbers role never feel like the game is fair to them, if it's balanced.
In a properly balanced asymmetrical game, the power role should absolutely demolish in a 1v1. This often feels unfair to whoever gets to be the unlucky bastard - they have next to no chance to survive and they know it. However, this is how asymmetrical games should work, in theory.
In practice, the power role is usually designed to be barely stronger than any individual member of the numbers role, with several built-in handicaps, so the numbers role feel like they have a "fair chance". This naturally leads to frustrations when playing the power role and is how asymmetrical games die. People forget that in a 4v1, every 1 that quits is another 4 who don't get to play the game.
-
That's a good point, but that can already be implemented very easily. The feature is already there, it just needs a few tweaks.
-
Because this wouldn't solve anything. By your own admission, people would just do something different to leave.
-
Because you didn't break the totems.
If you refuse to counter a perk with such a clear and hard counter as NOED, you don't also get to be exempt from its effects.
-
It'll hit in an unspecified time in the near future. Soon™, you could say.
-
No, because a third hook will kill you instantly.
-
@Hoodedfengm1n It's just as frustrating when you play killer and see hatchets phase through survivors like magic.
