It's not false reports. It's not like saying "hey he called me something bad" while he did not even say a word. It's what I consider should be bannable (of course, if repeated) because it's toxic behaviour, plain and simple. It's not a fake report just because my opinion differs.
It's a false report because you don't get to decide what is and isn't bannable. If you went to a police station and reported someone painting their house green because you don't like the color, they'd probably fine you for wasting their time.
You know it's not bannable, so all you're doing is wasting the mods' time that could be dealt with important matters.
-
@Alithra said:
Well, reportable is everything, bannable is something else. So yeah, I did report it and will keep doing it. Now it has a timer, but that doesn't make it okay.
Yes, technically everything is reportable, in the sense that you can type in anything, but sending false reports just wastes the mods' time.
-
Well, here's the kicker: we know it will still happen. It will happen less and less each day, however, until it's as rare as letting all the survivors bleed out. Because right now it's the shiny new toy, and everyone wants to play with it.

Well yeah, it can end, but you're forcing the killer to find you and then chase you, not much better than Claudettes hiding at random places not even near the gates just to make the killer waste time, just until the killer DCs to deny her the 5k BP. Yeah, it can end if the killer finds her, but that doesn't mean it's good or fun, so it's reportable IMO, and I did report it everytime I saw it. Good thing now they can do it only for 2 minutes, but if they wait the whole 2 minutes by the gates they're just making you waste your time, again, on purpose, which is toxic and not fun.
Just because you think it's reportable doesn't mean it is. The devs are the ones who decide that, and they've been pretty clear about it. The EGC is their solution to that problem, among others.

My idea threads get a surprisingly good response. I've noticed people here are fearful for change but desperately crave it. Hard combination to please.
However there are always a few people who appear from nowhere with like 12 posts telling me 'bad idea' when they refuse to even acknowledge and understand anything I'm saying.
'I think killers should be able to damage window vaults to prevent fast vaults'
10 seconds later - "dumb idea, killers are already op"
That's the dumb criticism I get back.
So ignore them. What's the harm?

I mean teabagging as in people waiting at the gates doing nothing but showing their butt until the killer comes and hits them. So yeah, it's reportable because it's holding the game hostage.
Wrong. It should be, IMO, but the devs think that killers should just hit the survivors and force them out. It's not reportable because, like with slugging, the game can end.
-
So when new killers are released, do you also assume that every single person who plays killer, from then on until the end of time (or until the next killer is released) will be playing that new killer and nothing else? Or do you assume the logical thing, which is that people will get tired of playing the same thing over and over again and will change it up when they get bored?

Can you please show me where a killer hold the game hostage in a basement or a dead end and you created a topic about it? Just because a lot of people created a lot of this situations doesn't mean putting a timer of 4 minutes now is okay. Some people keep forcing this situation, even if it's just 2-4 minutes, it's still time wasted. It's less time, I agree, but still the same. The problem is not solved, just has a timer now and it looks cool, so it will get forced even more often.
It literally just came out. Why are you pretending to know the future?

That's unfair and you know that.
Recently I was talking about how an Alien chapter would work in the game and I would be hounded saying it's not true to dbds lore and non humanoid killers don't work.
There's no reason to support their claim yet I have to accept it's a bad idea when it's not.
Some people in this forum want to see the game die and I wonder why they contribute in something they don't care about.
I meant, If your ideas always receive mostly negative feedback, the problem lies with your ideas.

What I don't want is people leaving me on the floor for 4 mins just to see an animation. Go to Youtube and see it and let me be. This is like saying people getting bodyblocked on the basement and holding the game hostage was not okay, but it's okay if it has a timer of 4 mins and an animation. Just because it lasts less it isn't okay. I reported all teabaggers even if I watched them do it for only 1 minute.
Teabagging is not reportable, and neither is this. If you can't handle people trying out the shiny new toy for a few days, then stop playing. Give it a week and it should be back to normal.

@AshleyWB said:
Whenever I come up with any idea there are always those who would rather not have anything new added to the game ever.
Just a general trend I see and encounter whenever I have ideas.
No matter what you come up with, it will never please everyone. However, if your ideas always receive negative feedback, the problem isn't the people replying - the problem is your ideas are just bad.

As I said several times, I didn't support holding the game hostage or teabag in the gates back in the days. That doesn't mean leaving you in the floor for 4 minutes for the sake of it is fine either.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/465273#Comment_465273
Yeah, "my" not interested. You seem to know me very well. Why would I post at all then? I knew I was going to get a bunch of arguments against from killer mains. I'm saying games 20 being hold for 20 minutes aren't okay, games being hold for 4 mins aren't okay either. Delete the animation and maybe it will get more bearable, just like bleeding out had no animation.
The animation is cool. If I get slugged, I want that animation so it doesn't feel so boring. If you don't want to see the animation, then alt+tab for 4 minutes.
-
It's not. Holding the game hostage means the game cannot end. With this, the game can end in, at most, 4 minutes.
The EGC is the shiny new toy that people want to try out. This will get better with time.

Maybe some will like to do it forever, you cannot know how people will deal with it in the future. Remove the animation and it will work as well as someone bleeding out on the floor: No animation, no satisfaction, ever, and less BP, so they will mostly try and find you for the BP of hooking you, or they will go afk until the timer runs out because looking for you is not worth their time for a few BP.
You can't know how people will deal with it in the future either, so why are you pretending to? You just sound like someone who just doesn't want killers to enjoy playing the game if it's not fun for you.
-
@Alithra said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/465174#Comment_465174
So? They still make it longer on purpose. Not two, but four minutes, on purpose, just to screw people. Still not fair. Get rid of the animation just like bleeding out had no animation, and less people will do it. Though they will still do it just because some people enjoy making others waste their time, but it will be less people. They made EGC something cool when they shouldn't. I even saw killers starting it at the start of the match for the sake of it. This isn't good for anyone, because people get less BP after a huge loading screen and will definitely be forced to depip. This has so many downsides.
Once it's no longer the shiny new toy that people want to play around with, then we can address these edge cases.

As I said, I'm okay with that. I die? Okay, I die, then ######### put me on a hook and end it, don't make me waste my time.
This will decrease in frequency as time goes on. It's a new toy, people want to try it out. For the moment, let people enjoy the cool new animation.

@Alithra said:

That doesn't mean it should be killer-sided now. Make it balanced, end of the story. Don't make it fun to trigger just so everyone triggers it to see animations. Bleeding out never had a cool animation, that's why most killers would go and try to find you if you're bleeding out, because they can only lose bp if they let you bleed out.
It is balanced. EGC can be triggered when the gates are open or when the killer closes the hatch.
If the gates are open, then the survivors need to GTFO instead of wasting the killer's time. They've won, time to leave. The killer can't do anything.
If the hatch is closed by the killer, then the survivors failed at repairing enough generators to power the gates. The last survivor in particular failed at locating the hatch. However, there are still two gates that the last survivor can open. The killer can only be at one location at any given time. The rest is up to the last survivor.

2m for basic and when someone is hooked slow down by a 50%. And the 50% of 2m is 1m, for a total of 3m. Facepalm
If you take one step every second, you travel a distance of 10 steps in 10 seconds.
If you take half a step every second (half the speed), you travel a distance of 10 steps in 20 seconds (twice the time).
This is high school math.

Do you know of anyone letting a survivor bleed out on the floor? Because I do not. killers would always try and find you to get the points. But now it's worth it because there's a cool animation. Delete the animation and the problem is gone.
Yes, actually. When it happens, I just go make myself a sandwich or go pee. Hell, I do it sometimes as a killer because many survivors, such as yourself, would rather bleed out than let me hook them, since they think the decreased BP gain actually affects me.
Why don't you just deal with the fact that you lost and go make yourself a sandwich? Let killers have something they can actually enjoy for once. The end-game was survivor-sided for three years. I think it's time killers get their due.

Still agonizing, boring and annoying, and you can't confort yourself thinking that by bleeding out you denied points to the killer.
Shows where your priorities are if your only incentive to let someone enjoy something is if it hurts them in some way.

Nope, stop assuming how I feel about things because you know ######### about me.
I actually like it and find it fair so nobody can hold the game hostage for long periods, or for when the killer and the last survivor find the hatch at the same time and they stand still for 20 minutes until one of them gets bored and finishes it. But that doesn't justify that some people hold the game hostage for 5 mins "just to see the animation" (and yeah, it's 5 mins if you're downed, and they do this on purpose just to make it longer, clearly). So at the end we don't get rid of the "holding the game hostage", just put a timer on it to make it from 20 minutes to 2, which is cool, but are they now going free with it just because it has a timer?
It's four minutes if you're in the dying state. Not five, not three, four.
The EGC just came out. Let people enjoy it for a while. After three years of survivors actually holding the game hostage and forcing hatch standoffs, all to humiliate killers, not to mention the cool new animation, this is just how things are going to be for a while. It's no different from when a new killer is released and everyone starts playing it.
-
@Alithra said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/465090#Comment_465090
No, it wasn't just 2 minutes. The timer slows down a lot when you're downed. Did you read the patchnotes about the EGC?
Slows down by 50%, bringing it to a grand total of 4 minutes. It happens to be the exact same length of time it takes for a survivor in the dying state to bleed out.

Oh, thanks! Though it doesn't necessarily have to be a simulated victory. i've played a lot of matches with friends with everyone getting fair perks and addons and just playign a serious average game and rotating the killer just because we were 5 and wanted to play together without leaving anyone out. Tell me where exactly I said that was okay. I said several times I don't support that behaviour, not even from friends playing in premade with me, so why should I be punished in the first place?
All that killers know is that for 3 years, most survivors have forced hatch standoffs and refused to leave through the open exit gates, to humiliate killers. If this becomes a regular thing, which I doubt, it's just the inevitable result of all that toxicity.
-

For real? Well, I didn't try myself but, how many points are we talking about here? I thought sacrifices gave more points. If EGC gives more points, this is completely wrong because killers will force the situation even more and not just to see the animation.
Killers get more BP with full sacrifices. EGC only gives a small amount of BP by comparison.

And by going on YouTube, you'll be watching someone else watching the Entity kill a survivor. At least this will have been your own accomplishment.

Until everyone gets tired of it, I'm afraid you're going to see survivors staying when the timer starts and killers slugging. Shouldn't be long, give it a few days.
-
The timer can last from 2 to 4 minutes, and not a second longer.
With that out of the way, it was known that this would happen. The EGC has a cool kill animation that many people - on both sides - want to see.

I´m sorry but when the killer at least finds you, he could kill you and not bodyblock the gates until the timer is out, he is faster than you and he just goes in front of you and bodyblock, it´s annoying
If he's doing that, just go AFK. No point in giving him the satisfaction of chasing you around.

I'd prefer another rework I heard, with tokens. Same functionality, but you get a token that you spend when damaging a generator.

The problem was, that this kind of mechanics were broken in concept. It was discussed before, but Legions core game mechanic was/is lacking counterplay. On paper a fast killer who vaults pallets and stab people sounds good. But it comes with a bunch of issues. Especially because unlike Nurse, the rules of how chase works doesn't change significally for the killer. Nurse is all about predicting survivors movements, muscle memory etc. Legion on the other hand, activates frenzy and is ready to chase and stab like a normal killer without worrying about pallet and vaults too much.
Devs tried to balance it with stuff like giving him less information(scratch marks), deep wound mechanic and an incentive to switch targets (tracking). Problem is, of them is countered by Legions high speed and map design. LOS blockers aren't as usefull on Legion than on Nurse or even other killers. Target switching was countered by easy mending and multiple stabs with the deep wound bar made Legion very time inefficient in a way neither the Survivor or the Killer controls much about. Maybe the killer more, but Legion chases really felt like time predictable downs. No place for the killer to cause the survivor to make a mistake and get down earlier. Or for the survivor to outplay them.
And that led to current changes, with "nerfing" Frenzies direct chase efficiency to add some counterplay. Problem is, that devs overtuned it, I think. Legion needs less power cooldown. And the missed swing penalty is currently too much as it is right now.
I personally think Legion is currently now in a better spot design wise. And we will see how things play out. And if more fine tuning puts him in the right spot on balance, or if Legion's core design will turn out o be unfixable and end with a complete power overhaul like Freddy is getting.
The whole point of the Legion was just to have fun running around and stabbing survivors, without doing much harm. Survivors never went down from Deep Wound unless they wanted to, kinda like RBTs, and if a Legion just stabbed you until you went down, they would experience multiple stuns in a row and give your team plenty of time to rush generators.
However, survivors cannot accept that killers should have fun too, and thus they DC'd en masse. Can you imagine if killers DC'd when they got stunned or blinded or whatever at the same rate that survivors DC'd from the Legion? Do you think the devs would butcher stuns, etc., or do you think they'd just ignore the complaints? So to reiterate: why the double standard?

tbh the only people complaining is the ones who where abusing him and he needed to be changed and all those changed is good you should get punished for failure you should not be able to just repeadly jump over every singel pallet as soon as you get freenzy thingy and you should not be able to just look away and make the other person timer go down this change is good nothing else. Nobody liked going against him or play him
I never exploited the Legion and I'm complaining.
The whole point of the Legion was that he was fun to play as, despite being ineffective at killing. The exploit could've been easily fixed by not making the timer go down in the killer's TR.
And if you wanna talk about being rewarded for failure, then you need look no further than MoM.

Pre-patch Legion. Fun to play as, ######### cancer to go against. Was uncounterable. Moonwalking, guarenteed chases won, continue on.
Post-patch is Legion in a wheelchair. Super fun for the Survivors, unfun for the Killer. Nothing about him is good.
You think both were fine as design?
I'm lost at what you're continuing on arguing about. Are you defending that all of its good design or?
Legion is trash both ways, making that clear.
The Legion, like all other killers, had counters. Survivors were just unwilling to use them.
Exploits get removed; you don't balance around exploits. Again, see the Entity blocker.
I'm not referring to the design of the character, that's something you brought up. I pointed out why people didn't like the changes to answer the OP. You brought up "fun". I then addressed that to point out the double standard when it comes to "fun". That's when you brought up the design. Don't pretend I'm defending something I didn't even talk about. If you didn't want an argument, then you should've accepted the answer instead of trying to find an excuse to dismiss it.

Both.
Both come into play. Bruh
So what was uncounterable about the Legion that required them to nerf every single fun aspect of the character? The exploit that could've been fixed by simply preventing the Deep Wound timer from going down within the killer's TR?
-

Legion was still a failure and you cannot convince me, or half the community its not true.
McLean in a stream said himself about Legion *not exact words* that it was poor design.
imo, all those things you listed don't have bad game design to it. there's counterplay to nearly all of those, and pre-patch legion was just a mess to deal with.
Is your argument about fun or about counterability? Make up your mind.
-
@FeelsVeryBadMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/464466#Comment_464466
Flashlight blinds are counterable.
Pallet stuns can be baited / completely countered by Enduring. Not to mention Survivors get mostly hit through them anyway.
Gen rush is a whole another topic. Currently the only thing that can somewhat counter it is Ruin. But I do agree that is a problem.
Claudette is unfun only on some maps imo.
Adrenaline is not always used as a crutch in a chase. Stop making it seem like it happens every game.
The difference? Legion had no counters.
"JuSt SpReAd OuT" is one thing. What should I do against a Legion that is moonwalking, looking at the ground so my timer goes down etc. ?
If the problem was an exploit, it could've been fixed by just making the timer not progress while in the Legion's TR (which they did anyway). Look at the Entity window blockers, for example. I don't see the devs rushing to just eliminate windows altogether; instead, they're fixing the bug that survivors are exploiting.
That leaves the "unfun" argument, which has nothing to do with how to deal with things and, by your own admission, isn't something you need to butcher the game to deal with.
So why the double standard? How come things that are unfun for killers don't get "reworked" the same way things that are unfun for survivors do? Unrelenting+STFBL combo, the Legion, the Nightmare, NOED, Iron Grasp, and so on were all nerfed (sometimes to oblivion) because survivors didn't think they were fun, even though they all had counterplay.
-
@RepliCant said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/464454#Comment_464454
To be fair, everything that made Legion fun, was extremely unfun for Survivors.
I'm not sure why the obvious was never put out. The Legion is simply a failure of design.
Let's hope he gets the Freddy treatment. The fact that Deep Wound was only introduced to counter how powerful a Killer being able to vault windows and pallets is a horrible idea.
Everything that makes flashlight blinds fun is unfun for killers.
Everything that makes pallet stuns fun is unfun for killers.
Everything that makes gen rush fun is unfun for killers.
Everything that makes Claudette fun is unfun for killers.
Everything that makes Adrenaline fun is unfun for killers.
Can you see why there might be a problem when you use "unfun" as a reason to completely butcher the game? In a PvP game in particular, everything that's fun for one side is unfun for the other; that's just the nature of PvP.
