Still not an exploit.
Only because the developers don't consider it as such. That's why I gave my opinion and explicitly pointed out it was just my opinion.

Makes sense tbh.
The hit is ignored, it is not a new state. So it is logical that you keep your 99% healing.
The hit itself is not ignored, only the damage. If the hit were ignored, the killer would have no cooldown and the survivor would have no on-hit sprint burst.

Mother's Day is today in the US. Not sure if it's different in other places.
Interesting. Seems countries that celebrate it in the first week of May, as is the case with mine, are in the minority.

It doesn't say anywhere it's an exploit though, there's nothing stopping you, so when you get the borrowed time effect you can heal back to full, it could be an exploit, could just be game mechanics
That's why I said I'd classify it as an exploit. As far as I know, the devs have not talked about this.
-
I'd classify that as an exploit.

As easily as triggering the end game collapse as soon as you are the last survivor standing. It would give the survivor the opportunity to find the hatch or open a gate quickly without being trapped. If he’s found he can hopefully stumble upon the open hatch instead of being slugged or held hostage for 3 minutes with no way out.
Held hostage for 3 minutes? Every part of that sentence is wrong. It's 4 minutes, and it's not being held hostage if the trial will end. Talk to survivors who've been blocked in the basement for hours and tell them that you're being held hostage when the killer slugs you for 4 minutes.

@Orion Yeah, it’s solved, but the issue is that it just causes too many issues for Survivors than there is good. The problem I’m worried about is that, with how things go, if something isn’t done about the hatch situation relating towards it giving Survivors a free deathwish is the fact that most changes that could help Survivors generally end up hurting Killers, hence why I wanted to give an idea that could help both sides before something drastic comes. :P
It should cause issues for survivors to be caught in a 1v1. I don't see what the problem is.
-
The hatch situation is already solved by the ability to close the hatch.

Maybe. Maybe not. In any case that’s completely off topic.
The reality is we have most killers being those 2, most gates being either really close or on permanent sight, and no way out other than waiting to get automatically sacrificed.
Yes, those killers have high mobility, which benefits them in the EGC. Each killer has their own strong points. Bamboozle, for example, is worthless on the Nurse. This is not a design problem, it's a design philosophy that some killers are better than others at certain things.

The problem is most killers are Billy and Nurse. And you can watch both gates from the distance in most cases. It’s as easy as paying attention to the red lights and you can instantly be there. Let’s also keep in mind perks like whispers which guantee if you are around a gate they can basically camp the area until found or time runs out. The opportunities for toxic plays this update brings are many.
If the other killers rewarded skill to the same extent as the Hillbilly and the Nurse, you'd see more variety.

I think i typed it wrong. i meant the developers shouldn't wait that long to buff/nerf only wait like a month. and yesd the legion took a long time before change.
Yes, they should, so people have a chance to actually learn how to play with the new things and the meta has a chance to settle.
-
I always say GG except when I judge it'll be perceived as trolling.
-
I'm pretty sure Mother's Day was last week.
-
Calm Spirit should be renamed to Heroin if that's the case.
-
They'll probably rework it once the game settles and only if there's a problem.
-
@Milo Indeed, it's 4 minutes when someone is downed or hooked. However, according to Almo, they intended for it to be 3 minutes when someone is downed or hooked.
I'm guessing someone (internally) made the common (yet absurd) mistake of equating a 50% slow with 50% additional time, hence the confusion.

That's a solution for the other survivors, not for the one being camped. So the other survivors get to rush gens and stack up a bunch of blood points and escape but what about you, the one being camped? What do you get? Nothing. 6000 points if you're lucky and everybody else, including the killer, gets more blood points than you. Meanwhile it took you 10 minutes to find a game only to receive pennies.
The problem is as a survivor you are rewarded based on your individual performance, not on the team performance. So as a survivor if you get camped it sucks big time regardless if everyone else on the team wins.
Why should you get anything for failure?
-
The devs are already doing this, as far as I know.
-
Mods said to record it, report them in-game, and then send the video to them in a support ticket.
-
If it's as prevalent as you claim, then you might as well just stop playing for a week.

@Tsulan A dev confirmed that it's 3 minutes. It's badly worded.
@se05239 No, a dev said that it was their intention to make it last 3 minutes. It lasts 4 minutes and I've already posted video proof of that.

Obviously the killer would not close the hatch until after the hook?
But the killer has no idea where the last survivor is, and the hatch is a free escape. Therefore, closing the hatch is the right tactical decision. As far as the killer knows, the survivor is near the hatch.
-
You'd have to prevent friends from being in the same lobby, eliminate the pre-game chat, kick people back to the main menu without the possibility of checking who they're playing with, and a bunch of other features to make sure SWF couldn't play together and information was not being passed around.

Perhaps then the survivor can only kill themselves once EGC has been triggered? This was the killer can get the 4k under normal circumstances but cant just slug the last survivor and wait for the EGC timer to run out?
Same difference. Killer slugs one survivor, who then goes AWOL, kills the other one, closes the hatch. Now the last survivor can deny the killer everything with the push of a button.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
This is just another reason why survivors need the ability to commit suicide when they are in the dying state. It's not unrealistic either since the survivor could kill themselves with whatever they use to stun the killer with decisive strike. This would be a way for the last survivor to keep their bloodpoints instead of DCing due to a toxic killer.
It would be abused. Survivors already willingly crawl away to a random corner of the map when they're slugged to deny killers the hook and associated points. This would take away any possibility of the killer getting that last hook.

4 minutes isn't toxic. It's a brief annoyance. Get over it.
Toxic is intentionally taunting the other player(s). @thrawn3054 gave one such example. Slugging by itself is not toxic, but thrawn3054's example is an example of toxicity.

Guess I'll be dying a lot more then.
That's your choice. Nobody's forcing you to play that way.
-
As a former survivor main (surprise!) who ended up playing both sides, playing survivor is a day at the beach compared to playing killer. If you run a stealth build and are even decent at juking the killer, you are pretty much guaranteed at least the hatch. As a killer, you can play perfectly and still be at the mercy of RNG, bugs, and survivors' mistakes to actually succeed.
-
@thrawn3054 said:
@Orion F13 sold 2 million copies. That's hardly a flop. The failure of the dev team to fix long standing bugs, poor communication with the community, and balance issues caused it's decline. Also the lawsuit bringing new content to a hault didn't help. Even with all that it's still doing okay on console. PC is where it died off pretty quickly.
@thrawn3054 How long did it take them to sell 2 million copies? DbD did that in a few months, IIRC.
Do you have data regarding consoles? I don't think the data is publicly available.

Have you been living under a rock?
They all flopped apart from Friday which got into hot water over the rights of Jason.
Predator HG is the next threat to the playerbase. We must press the issue so something can be done.
F13th flopped before the lawsuit. It had a weaker launch than DbD and kept losing players every day.
Anyway, as someone else mentioned, they're different games. The release of Rise of Industry also wasn't a threat to DbD because the games are different.
-
It's not punishing survivors for protecting teammates. You have a choice to make - save yourself or risk going back. You have to take into account the timer as well when making your decision.

It's a discussion about a game. You don't need to get bent out of shape cause someone made a harmless joke.
I wonder if this logic applies to people complaining about killers slugging to see the cool EGC animation.

So you're pissy because I'm being serious in a discussion where people want to be taken seriously?

The guy made a joke about EGC standing for something it obviously doesn't and you took that joke 100% serious and corrected him on it. Like I can promise you, he already knows what EGC really stands for.
And I can promise you everyone knows exactly what he meant when he said that.

@Orion yeah right.. dude that is the most funniest thing ever to have one survivor at the end.. and you as the killer find the hatch first.... close the hatch... run to the doors.. you got whispers.. that survivor is #########.... you don't even need to chase them really.. just move around near them and pin them in location.
They wanna loop?.. no problem... I'll just stand there and watch you run around.. funniest ######### ever.... no way am I never gonna stop doing that.
There is a new sport in the killer world.. and it is getting to the EGC with one survivor left.
See, attitudes like that are why we can't have nice things.

You literally used the same arguments to defend the issue, when there is nothing to defend. It's just grudge. And like I said, if it's possible it won't go away. It will stay. People will keep do it, because they can. It might not be the majority, but it will keep happening. Like it wasn't the majority of survivors who took the game hostage by constant hiding. It was an issue, but a very uncommon one.
And it's funny how you have to twist my argument. My argument is, that EGC is meant to shorten games, when everything is decided. But killers slugging the last survivor for seeing EGC time is another way to drag things out. Maybe only max. 4 min. But it is dragging out, when everything is decided. So it's an issue were the system still fails.
I'm playing DbD for quite a long time. And had my fair share of horrible experiences as a killer and a survivor. Of course I remember, but I'm willing to move on compared to others within the community, after things got finally changed for the better.
How about we wait and see if it'll keep being as prevalent as it is now before claiming the sky is falling? I've already noticed a sudden drop in complaints about this scenario and it's been, what, three days? Like all new things, the excitement will go away. If it didn't, then people would still be playing the Plague.
