Don't argue with Orion. He is a hardcore killer main who hasn't played a single game as a survivor. He would probably like all survivors to spawn on hooks.
Rank 5 survivor, but OK.

At least you try to let them know tbh. I should really voice my appreciation more to killers who take the time to make sure the survivors are on board instead of just expecting them to be alright with it.
I didn't add them to inform them I wanted to farm because I generally don't farm, but the same principle applies.

To answer your question with a statement instead of my own questions: I don't. I don't give a damn who "wins" in this scenario. I care about the confusion associated with said scenario.
Players will learn. Clearing up "confusion" doesn't require the creation of an entirely new mechanic that removes an accepted (if boring) strategy.

Playing without Mad Grit isn't a handicap. Playing without STBFL isn't a handicap, Playing without Discordance isn't a handicap. And all of these for good reason. Playing without NOED, just one singular perk. Yeah. Maybe a handicap in a sense. There's a fine line here.
Going perkless is a handicap compared to equipping Mad Grit or STBFL or Discordance. However, not equipping your most powerful builds - whatever those may be - is always a handicap.

Why do you think players deserve a free kill for capitalizing on something that can only be described as a design flaw that's existed long before EGC even existed? Why is this niche kill scenario more important to save than saving the time of everyone involved in recording and processing reports related to killers body blocking before EGC? Or further, saving the time of everyone in these threads, where people have to outline what's bannable and what's not when it comes to body blocking every. Single. Time.
Can you answer the question?

Not all of them work on DBD, only 200 of them are involved in the production of DBD.
I'll ask you the same: have the devs said how many people are working on DbD?

I've tried adding survivors before. They never accept until after the trial is over.

And that's exactly why I hate this perk. You admit it yourself, that not using this perk, is essentially handicapping a killer.
Not using your most powerful builds is handicapping yourself. Playing perkless is a handicap, playing add-on-less is a handicap, playing without audio is a handicap. I'm not sure you understand what "handicap" means.

Well believe it or not, a lot of killers, including me, play killer without NOED. And can still rack at least a kill or two endgame sometimes. It's not something ground breaking, it's just more difficult because the odds are stacked against you, if you haven't been playing well that match. Which, if 3 or more survivors are all alive when the gens are powered, then I think they deserve that win. Only getting a single kill, or none, before the gens are powered, is a sign of bad play as killer, and success as survivor. Sure, you could say totems are a secondary objective for survivors but I think that's bull. It doesn't bother me much anymore, since I'm not like OP, and I just cleanse totems whenever I can. But my biggest problem with NOED is how much of an actual crutch it feels like for killer. Played bad? Here, have instant downs. It's such a one-sided perk. It doesn't reward you for playing good, but rather rewards you for playing bad.
[shrug]
If you prefer to handicap yourself you're free to do so, but don't pretend NOED does anything except punish survivors for not cleansing totems. They "deserve" a win when they actually get a win. If they didn't escape (I'm guessing escape=win in this context), then they didn't deserve it.

"Using "face camping" to mean hard camping delayed a fix because people were reporting "face camping" as a bug without further explanation (or with insults, in typical salty gamer fashion). What does face camping mean nowadays? That the killer is close to the hook, which isn't a bug by any stretch of the imagination. Are the devs supposed to read the player's minds and know who's using the term correctly and who isn't?"
I still don't follow. The devs knew that the interaction was blocked because the killer's hitbox was in the way and you could only unhook from the front. How many reports did they need? I don't even think they needed any reports lol. It was very easily reproducible by their QA team. Whether they got 1 report or 10,000 is irrelevant. It's not like a bug that only happens on some maps with certain fog conditions and certain killers with certain add ons lol.
Do you even have any reason to believe the exploit fix was delayed due to false reports? Like did a dev or CM say that?
Bug report comes in, says the killer was face camping. Doesn't go into detail about what that means. Devs assume it means that the killer was close to the hook, report gets thrown out because that's not a bug.
It's been a while, but if memory serves, there were replies that "face camping" wasn't a bug. All because people don't know what "face camping" means.

Scratch marks are too ridiculously visible and last too long, they should only give the killer an idea which direction you've gone, not lead them right to you. It doesn't even make sense. I don't leave bright red trails while running through the woods and walled maps, like #########, why would anyone "scratch" the walls while trying to escape from a killer?
DBD has repeatedly removed stealth from the game, offering survivors on a silver platter for the Killer and we can't out run them so... LOOPING.
If you want to argue sense, most of the characters don't have degrees in electrical engineering either, but they sure can repair generators with ease.
DbD has supernatural elements. Don't try to make sense of it by comparing it to real life.

Bethesda work on multiple game first of all. Second they don't have to come out with patches every week if they don't launch updates with a ton of bugs in it. Bhvr doesn't have 200 people working on the game. They have a lot more. Still don't understand why bring bethesda into this. The only things they have in common is their practices.
Have the devs ever announced how many people were working on DbD?

DBD community never ceases to amaze me.
To be fair though, you can still safety pip after being sacrificed endgame, and NOED can easily be countered by doing totems. 2 things you seem to be missing, that much we know. I will agree with no doubt though, that NOED is a terribly designed perk in the first place, and I still don't understand why people would defend it staying in the game. It's not getting removed anytime soon though, so just counter it. Do totems.
NOED makes the end-game risky for survivors if they failed to cleanse the totems. Without NOED, unless a survivor is stupid and leaves a gate at 99%, you will escape the vast majority of the time. Is that what you want, to have essentially won before the trial is even over?

Yeah and some idiots still block people in a corner for hours without triggering EGC. The benefit of implementing a solution to such conduct far outweighs the negatives in this case.
...unless it's absolutely buggy at launch of course.
That's holding the game hostage and it is bannable. It's not what happened in this scenario, though.

So disable the killer's collision when near survivors that have AFK crows above them within a certain radius then. It already happens with windows and Spirit phasing, so we know it's possible. BHVR just has to work out the technical details.
Survivors could easily exploit that by just getting the crows on purpose.

Most experienced players don't even need NOED tbh, when someone fully masters a killer, it almost NEVER gets to Endgame from what I've seen.
It's not about needing it, it's about using the best possible builds. An experienced player who's playing to win won't use Monstrous Shrine over NOED.

Again never claimed to know how it works or even said it was easy but okay, keep trying to one up me just to try and make yourself look good defending a underdeveloped game. It's not a case of me being mad updates not coming out as quickly as "i" want, most of the community feels the same way.
The player base is obviously going to increase if they've literally brought the game to new platforms likes the Switch. The game is on Xbox Game Pass which is also going to entice more people to play it and I feel bad for new players joining this game who are going to leave because of a lot of issues.
But yey another person who just looks at stats. They don't tell the whole story...
Well, I said programming isn't as easy as you seem to believe and you ignored it. I can only conclude you think programming is super easy, barely an inconvenience, which would mean you don't know anything about it. I'm not trying to "one up" you, just pointing out details.
I'm just talking about the Steam numbers. I have no idea about console. What's your explanation for those?
Stats don't tell the whole story, but they're much more reliable than looking at the forums and proclaiming they represent the entire player base.
-
Putting aside the fact that punishing people for playing with friends is absurd, penalizing SWF will also penalize solo survivors, because it'll make the entire team less effective.
-
@ItzPixelYT said:

Why are you trying to tell someone who plays the game to learn some programming? This is their day in day out Job...they're doing it for a living, doesn't matter how hard it is they get paid to do it...doesn't really justify the timeframe in updates they give us.
So all the NOED complaints are meant to just go unnoticed just like DS, BT, Adrenaline etc...? There's literally too much stuff complained about and not a lot happening on the dev side is what my POV is. If they addressed it and said they would actually look to fix these things then it would be fine. But no more and more feedback complaints build up more and more people leave the game because nothing get's done about it...
Because they think programming is easy, just like you. You're literally criticizing something you have no understanding of. If you did, you would criticize very different aspects of the game, as opposed to "updates aren't coming as quickly as I want" (which also ignores what I said before, about people complaining about how often they used to update).
Most of the complaints are to go unaddressed because the people who complain don't accept reality: the stats don't support their complaints. One of those stats, funnily enough, is the fact that the number of players keeps increasing, not decreasing as you claim.

So you sit and nitpick NOED out of everything I said...okay? Not quite sure what your argument is supposed to be about because i'm literally just talking about the majority of complaints that i see on the forums and never claimed to have a issue with it personally, clearly the community find it an issue in the game or it wouldn't be complained about so much, just another ignored thing like everything else the community offer. Pretty sure i didn't sit here and claim to know how easy or hard programming works either, but having some sort of game breaking bugs in the game for so long isn't doing it justice is it?
You mentioned complaints and how the devs don't address them, I chose an example to show that complaints don't mean something is unbalanced or needs changing. NOED is simply the best example because it's been nerfed twice, yet the complaints remain. The problem isn't the perk itself, it's that some people just don't want to counter it. The same principle applies to the majority of complaints.
-
For killer:
- Monstrous Shrine
For survivor:
- Lightweight
They provide negligible benefits that only noobs would think are useful. Experienced players use powerful perks like NOED.

In that case, let me just notify @Peanits because I'm not sure where to send a support ticket. Save the video.
-
I don't think this is reportable since it wasn't holding the game hostage. However, if you didn't file an in-game report, you're screwed.
-
Yes, they just like tormenting the killer. If the killer goes there he gets punished with a "lost chase", while they get rewarded with a "won chase". Of course, they like to pretend it's innocent ("to give killers some points", or "to get some more points", or whatever).

Hillarious.
We all know that DH isn't working to a lot of people (half of the surv playerbase)
Your logic doesn't make sense "If it works for me it should work for everyone1!1!1"
....
I'd like to see the source of that statistic you just made up, about DH not working for half of the survivors.
My logic is that if the majority of survivors are using it, then it's working for the majority of survivors. If it's working for the majority of survivors, then the issue must be unrelated to the perk, since the perk is common to all of them. It's a basic scientific approach.
-
That would have the same effect as allowing killers to block it.

I'll admit, the concept is interesting. I'm all for ways of making DBD a horror game again. I just think it'd feel horrible in practice. Maybe try experimenting with survivors having a slower sensitivity than usual during some actions. Even then, I'm not sure if it'd actually stick or just feel unnecessary. Only one way to tell, I guess. (Make my own tech demo version of DBD in Unreal engine and try it out.)
Messing with sensitivity is pointless when I have a button on my mouse that can double it. I shouldn't have an advantage because of my hardware.
Maybe it'd feel horrible, maybe not. Like you said, though, only one way to know for sure. The problem is that the devs aren't convinced this would be a good idea, so they (understandably) won't devote resources to trying this out.
-
Holding the game hostage means that the game in a situation where it will never end. For example, the last two survivors refusing to repair any generators and hiding until the killer disconnects.

Sure, but no. What good is that little amount of tension when it hampers gameplay. Does it really sound fun to get off a generator every time you just want to LOOK around you. Not even a survivor main, and I think it's an absurd idea. Survivors are vigilant, where killers are instead tunnel visioned on one goal, that's the point.
Also I'm implying you're talking about stealth killers like most people are. While their spooks are startling, it's kind of literally the exact OPPOSITE of tension, if you don't even know it's coming.
The tension is in knowing it could be coming at any point. I'm not saying the idea is flawless, but I do think restricting the survivors' camera a bit while they perform certain interactions would do wonders for tension.

Scott Jund had some good ideas about this as well, buffing and nerfing perks in a rotation each month or week.
That sounds like a nightmare to implement and play with. Consistency is important, I don't want my perks to do one thing one day and something different the next because it's, quite literally, not their day. That would also make the grind worse by actively making it necessary; after all, your perks might be garbage tomorrow, so you should get them all just in case.
