Just report them dude.
The devs definitely ban people, and if you report this person, and then another person is just as awful it doesn't mean the first person wasn't banned.
I did. Again, I intended for people to focus on applauding the mods instead of the story itself, that's why there are so few details.

Lol, he's probably lying about being mori'd 4 times before. Highly doubt he's that unlucky.
It doesn't matter either way, I have no idea who he is and wouldn't change my loadout just to trigger one person, that's just silly.

Lol, I can kinda understand getting mad over Moris, but DH? That's ridiculous, it's so situational and can be prevented before it even gets value lol, totem spots really screw it. You must be satisfied lol.
I was for the first kill because it was one of my dailies (all killer dailies, FML). The chat just made me shrug. Dude was very self-centered, acting like I knew he'd been mori'd 4 times before and only took DH to trigger him personally.

It's just a terrible perk. Pretty much only used for the cool graphics on the icon, as well as the satisfaction of killing someone in the basement just a tiny bit faster.
Lowering the odds from 4% to 3.4% is basically nothing, and almost every other perk in the game will help you more even if you do manage to get basement hooks.
Indeed. MS is probably the most useless perk on either side.

I used to think BHVR was one of the most consumer friendly companies I've ever seen work on a game. It just used to be the game, the DLC's, and some cheap cosmetic pack bundles if you cared. Come the inclusion of the in-game store, I really wish more people gave open backlash cuz now we're stuck dealing with a pretty ######### hand, and a dumb pseudo battlepass, and an bloat in skins. It's not as bad as other games in some ways, but there's some things that baffle me.
Mostly, the grind for shards is ridiculous compared to the prices of anything in the store, and you can't buy everything with playtime. Honestly, I'm okay with some cosmetics being pay walled since I guess they need to earn their moneys back somehow. But come on man, $10 for a cosmetic for one character?? And there's a lot of these. And worst of all, people support it, so they're not changing these anytime soon. That's ludicrous to me. And I hate hearing people defend BHVR on something like that by saying stuff like "Yeah well, ever play a multiplayer game before?". My point is BHVR didn't used to be like that, I thought they could be different from other companies. So speak with your wallet. And I really hope all these rumors of Legendary skins pricing at $20-$25 isn't true. That's just gonna be a personal nail in the coffin for me with BHVR and supporting them over skins anymore.
If there's one thing I can congratulate them on, it's the bloodweb. Bloodweb progression, is probably the most genius progression loop I've ever seen in a video game. And I actually have very little problems with it, besides Prestige reward still only being a cosmetic. It felt perfect when I first started playing because there wasn't really a connotation of being withheld from the "meta" perks, or something, like most people feel now. The most there was, was really wanting BBQ, DS, and Unbreakable/BT. Otherwise, it was just naturally progressing through the game, getting teachables as I learned of them, etc. It didn't feel like a pay to win E-sport like people seem to make it out to be quite yet.
Also if any devs are listening, please make Devotion do something already. Seriously, what's the problem. Respect your players playtime. It's just a number, when it could at the least be a very small permanent increase in shard/BP gain. Or like 200 free Auric cells. I dunno, ANYTHING.
You don't have to buy any cosmetics or anything in the pseudo-battlepass. I don't see the problem.

Who says bt isn't supposed to be used in the killers face? Is it written in small letters in the perk description or?
No, it's written in the fact that the killer can grab you off the hook, thereby getting an insta-down and disabling half the survivors with a single chase.
So while you can technically use it to unhook in the killer's face, it'd be like blocking the Hillbilly's chainsaw with your face. You're not supposed to do either of those things.

Borrowed time is designed for saving against campers. This mechanic was designed to make Borrowed time unhooks easier because people used to let go a few seconds ago but STILL get grabbed.
Anyways, it's not something I do myself, I just hold M1, open the gates and don't look back. But it was intentionally made to help against campers for those unhooks and prevent unfair grabs, so I'm curious as to why it was removed.
Borrowed Time isn't supposed to be used in the killer's face, though.
If this was intentional, why was it removed? Did the devs actually say this was intentional at all?
-
@Poweas said:
The tapping one was intentional to prevent unfair grabs. I'm VERY curious as to why THAT was removed, it's just going to make saving against camping way too difficult. (If that's the one you mean)
You shouldn't try to save against a camper anyway. The fact that it's even a thing survivors consider is just proof of how little the killers actually matter. If the killer is somewhere, you should want to be somewhere else.
EDIT: Also, no such thing as an unfair grab, barring latency. The killer is there and grabbing is a thing they can do. You decided to take a risky action, that's all.

ill do the math for you:
the normal gen repair speed is 80 seconds, however for each wounded survivor you take 4% longer to repair it.
that means the stats would be the following for each individual survivor:
1 injured player: 83.2 seconds (+3.2 seconds repair time)
2 injured players: 86.4 seconds (+6.4 seconds repair time)
3 injured players: 89.6 seconds (+9.6 seconds repair time)
4 injured players: 92.8 seconds (+12.8 seconds repair time)
also keep in mind that in order for the biggest slowdown to happen, all survivors need to be alive, which means you still got the full manpower on gens - every killed player will not count towards thana, so the individual slow down will decrease with each dead survivor.
It's a speed decrease, not a time increase. You need to divide 80 by 1-x, where x is the decrease.
1 wounded: 83.3333 s
2 wounded: 86.9565 s
3 wounded: 90.9091 s
4 wounded: 95.2381 s

Either protecting against a hatch escape, or she thought you had DS, or just being a dick. The nodding tells me it was the latter. Regardless, it isn't holding the game hostage.

Interesting, is there any perk I can switch out for Iron will? I can't play without it since this one time where I literally died as a Blendette due to not having Iron will (2017 btw) and ever since, I've had it as a staple.
Maybe Aftercare, if you're not interested in rescuing others from hooks and/or healing them. Alert should already let you know when the killer is in a chase.

Yeah, that's fair enough tbh. What's your optimal build for survivor, out of curiosity? I've been hopping between builds and nothing feels right.
Right now I'm using Aftercare, Alert, Dark Sense, and Kindred. Since I'm a stealth player, I can use these perks to keep an eye on the killer and make sure that when they reach me, I'm not there any more.
EDIT: However, I'm currently experimenting with other perks. I didn't use Aftercare or Kindred before, I had Urban Evasion and Iron Will instead. I'm trying to find the optimal aura-reading build for stealth purposes.

The best possible builds are subjective to their playstyle though, most wouldn't consider NOED from my experience. But the example you presented is true.
Of course, playstyles matter, but some perks are just objectively better than others. My point is that if you're not running a fully optimized build (based on whatever resources you have available and your own playstyle) and playing to the best of your ability, you're handicapping yourself.
-
IIRC it's 5 € worth of AC per character, so 10 € total, as opposed to 7 € if you just buy the chapter. Auric Cells are only cheaper if you want to buy one character.

This isn't a religious argument, it's a historical argument.
If someone says King Arthur didn't exist it's fitting to correct them, because he's based on, possibly multiple, actual British chieftains.
Whatever you want to call it, you don't start an argument by saying your argument is not debatable.
Saying King Arthur didn't exist is factually correct. "Based on" doesn't mean it's the same person. My name is based on the Greek hero. Do you think I'm a Greek hero?

I mean there's a wide spread global religion based on the guy, due in no small part to the huge impact he and his followers had on one of the most influential civilizations in human history.
His existence isn't debatable. The truth of his teachings and his status as the Son of God are though.
If you're having trouble understanding the difference; it's the distinction between saying Karl Marx just didn't exist and saying that communism isn't something you believe to be a valid socio-economic philosophy.
Let's not get into religious arguments, please, especially when you open with "this part of my belief isn't debatable".

Dsfix was released at the same day. Anyone who had the power could install it for free and run it on higher fps. For console it was fine. Like every other single game on the ps3 back then.
I wouldn't accept DS1 graphics on my PS3 any more than I would on my PC. MGS4 had better graphics and controls, with fewer glitches (I didn't encounter any myself, but no software is completely bug-free), and came out 3 years earlier.
Face it, DS1 was poorly made.

Oh sorry, 9 years is nothing. It's like it was released yesterday. What was I thinking using the word "old", should have used "new" instead.
My point is that 8 years and a few months isn't enough to justify its severe shortcomings like being locked at 30 FPS and having ######### graphics and controls. Again, not to beat a dead horse, but look at Crysis. Much better controls, graphics, and framerate. And it came out in 2007.
If you want something that came out a little later and on the same platform, look at MGS4. Came out in 2008, had better controls and graphics than DS1.

Back then everyone was fine with 30 fps. The "I want 244fps or I die" comes from spoiled kids. Put them in front of console/pc in 1980 and they play as if nothing happened.
Dark souls 1 is a quite old game and was never planned to be ported on pc. Consoles couldn't handle more than 30 fps at that time so they build it around 30 fps.
You think a game that's not even a decade old is already "quite old"?

I didn't know it could cause nausea. I know that too high of an FPS can cause it, but too low is news to me.

@Frankie said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1327663#Comment_1327663
Playable FPS is very subjective. Just throwing that out there. 90% of PC gamers wouldn't consider 30fps playable. It's why we chose PC over consoles. I mentioned DSfix as well - but that doesn't change what the PC port of DS1 was. You're only furthering the point he was making by saying that a mod fixes these issues. When you need a mod, the port is ballsacks.
30 FPS is indeed playable, but a good port is more than just "make this run in that other platform in the exact same manner as it does in the original". It should take into account the actual platform. You wouldn't port a game to console only to have it require a mouse and keyboard, for example.
-
@DwightOP said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1327653#Comment_1327653
30 fps is playable and graphics isn't everything. In fact, the "bad graphics" gave ds1 a unquiet atmosphere. But you wouldn't know that, new kids like you only care about fps and the best graphics. Btw, I played the ps3 version back then and I was totally fine with it.
Also, if graphics and fps on pc were an issue for you:
There was a dsfix which gave you 60 fps and tons of texture mods bringing the graphics on the newest level. In fact, some of the texture mods are better than the remastered version. But ofc, you probably never attempted to search for solutions. U probably started ds1 and closed it immensely after dying against the tutorial boss.
But you are good at searching for excuses, I give you that.
I was playing video games before you could walk up and down stairs. Sit down.

Duplicating in terms of rolling to use a humanity in combat without consuming it. This allows you to do pvp 24/7 without grinding humanity. But ofc, you don't know that.

So, why are you asking me then? I showed you one example and now you go backtracking "aaaahhh yeeeaah but naaahh. Bhvr doesn't have to do that aswell"
Ok I guess? Don't ask me for examples then. What a waste of time
Not backtracking. You wanted to establish that they were comparable, so I asked you to prove it. My argument doesn't hinge on you being right about glitches of this nature being accepted as techniques (which they weren't, seeing as how they were removed in DS2 and DS3, so you were wrong to begin with).
Ultimately, glitches are glitches and techniques are techniques. The difference is that the former is unintended behavior and the latter is intended behavior. While developer teams can incorporate glitches and turn them into actual mechanics, these decided not to and for good reason. You disagree and that's fine, but let's call a spade a spade. These were glitches, not techniques.
-
@DwightOP said:

They removed a lot of techs (well for you "glitches") like moveset swaps, dead angles, roll swaps, R1 swaps, twinkling, duplicating etc etc
I'm a hardcore dark souls player, Im living this.
And no, just because some particular features aren't continued in the followed titles doesn't mean anything. They are all basically stand alone in their mechanical gameplay. Poise isn't a thing in DS2 for example, toggle escaping isn't possible either. Every dark souls title has his own approach on the mechanical fighting.
You think item duplication isn't a glitch? Alright, I can see this discussion will be pointless.
I'll just leave you with a bit of wisdom: just because you can do something doesn't mean you're supposed to.
-
@DwightOP said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1327582#Comment_1327582
Backstab escapes still exist in dark souls remastered. They removed other things like dead angles. Sooo, they "silently" accepted backstab escapes and haven't "fixed" them. Anything you want to add or do you finally agree with me? :)
If memory serves, Dark Souls Remastered was just a graphical upgrade, which is why the fans were so pissed that they hadn't fixed the actual problems with the game. The real test for acceptance is seeing if it's still present in DS2 and DS3 which, to the best of my knowledge, it isn't. Even if it were, just because one developer team did it there doesn't mean these devs should do it here.
-
I know SWF is unbalanced. I also know that nerfing them is not the right course of action. Ideally, you'd want to buff solo survivors to the same level as SWF and then either buff killers accordingly or nerf survivors in areas that SWF doesn't change.

From what little I understood, here are the main points:
- Pyramid Head's cages don't give any points toward the sacrifice emblem
- Killer powers shouldn't make emblems harder to get
- If you want iridescent on sacrifice, you have to avoid using your power
- Cages are similar enough to hooks that they should give you points for the sacrifice emblem

Why do I have to find that exactly?
Regardless: dark souls backstab escapes.
Because you're the one who made the claim that they're comparable to combos.
I didn't ask for a glitch that was accepted by the community as a technique, I asked for a glitch that was accepted by developers as a technique. As far as I know, that glitch was removed.

U know what is a "glitch" aswell? Combos in fighting games. Yes, exactly. They weren't intentionally in the fighting games back then. And look now: they are established techs now.
Find me a game where clipping into character models or teleporting without having any skills to that effect were adopted as mechanics.

But it's nonsensical nevertheless.
It would be like, as a killer, you go to pick up a survivor and then you change your mind and your screen turns back at the survivor without any control.
These actions should not happen at all
Like I also said, the problem with any "solution" is that it would make skill checks virtually pointless. You could let go of M1 at any point to avoid them.
