How so? There is not a single openly gay character in the game, or a character that supports the Ukranian governments ownership of Crimea. No reason for the game to get banned there.
And if the devs want to add a killer based on a Russian mass-murderer or an openly LGBT character, what then?

If the killer were camping, I would have understood, tbh, I have been camped to death before, but even when the killer was chasing others, I was sort of ignored and they fully stated it was because I did not equip a toolbox to match them.
I dunno, I am pretty new to the game and I've only been playing like a couple months so I don't know what does and doesn't count as griefing in the game.
Then they were just dicks. However, it's still not bannable.

you dont know he was camping thats just an assumption. On topic no its not but its messed up that your team didnt help you unless the killer was just patroling around your hook.
I know it's an assumption, that's why I said "guess". I'm not sure why you felt the need to repeat my statement.
-
No. You're not entitled to a save and they have no obligation to save you. If they all did gens, my guess is the killer was also camping, which makes their decision smart.

Sad to hear that Russians often show bad attitude but I guess it's fair from your perspective.
Adding a server in Russia would be a huge performance buff to the game! But I guess it's complicated by poliical issues. Russian government very unlikely let Western countries to build some strange web servers on their territory that could be potentially used in military purpose. Same thing from Western countries. They would not build anything on Russian territory because their politics often known as Agressive and Homophobic.
I don't know for sure but i guess this is a problem.
I think the political issues will be the biggest impediment. Russia's government is very censor-happy and BHVR is supportive of things they don't like. I doubt you'd be able to get a server there without them demanding that the game be censored.

It's political in the sense that it is taking a stance on a human issue that others will disagree with.
It's also basic human decency, and shouldn't be remotely controversial to anyone with a shred of empathy in their heart.
Fair enough.

Everything is political. This is a fact of life.
Hell, people on these forums rampantly treat killers and survivors as though they are political parties in terms of the mean-spirited us-vs-them mentality.
OP's idea is a nice and kind sentiment, but in my heart of hearts, I know this thread is just gonna turn into a powder keg. I bet it probably already has, in the time I took to scan the thread and type this response. (EDIT: I am pleasantly surprised. I hope I don't jinx it.)
I don't see what's political about saying black people's lives matter just the same as white people's lives. The fact that some people try to make basic human decency political doesn't mean it is.

I see the phrase "quality of life update" misused very often. A quality of life update is like changing the color of the cursor so it's easier to see. It's Trapper being able to reset his traps without picking them up. It's not changing a core mechanic of the game.
If it's just about making slugging fun, maybe the devs could add in a mini-game for slugged survivors to play. One of those little Tiger Electronics games and they get to earn some BP while they bleed to death. I'd be down with that.
Many people ask for blatant killer/survivor nerfs with thinly veiled excuses ("QoL change" and "not fun" being the main ones). Don't think they aren't aware of what they're doing.
-
@whammigobambam said:

I find it very inconvenient when the killer decides, and they do, to leave me on the ground for 4 minutes as a slug just because they can. There is no perk that can fix the dead space of 4 minutes. I'm sorry but slugging is bad manners and it is used very maliciously.
Killers find it very inconvenient to be stunned for 5 seconds. There's no perk to fix that either. There used to be, which is why DS now stuns for 5 seconds, but that perk was nerfed while DS remains the same. If that doesn't show favoritism, I don't know what does.
You lost. It's not supposed to be fun. Take the L and move on. Stop asking for killer nerfs, learn to play better.
-
I think it's a good idea. If some people start targeting others for these cosmetics, they can be banned for griefing/harassment, which I'm guessing will remove a lot of the toxicity as well.

Show usernames in the endgame screen.
Killers check profiles and dodge survivors if they've played a lot. Legacy cosmetics cause lobby dodging as well.
So make your play time private, problem solved.

By not abandoning a teammate or by using builds designed to counter camping and tunnelling?
Both. Bubba counters your builds, so they'll start using him more often.

There is something seriously wrong if the game encourages people to hide their profile.
There would be something wrong if the game encouraged that, yes. However, it doesn't in the slightest. I can't think of a single decent multiplayer game on Steam that doesn't let me open up someone's profile. Those who don't want their profiles to be seen simply change the adequate privacy settings.
-
@I_Teabag_Gate said:
No.
We use Borrowed Time and DS. We'll save the first one and try escape. If you manage to get the rescuer, we will heal the DS user and they'll go for the next save. Add in other people bodyblocking and we should be fine.
We usually manage to get everyone out in these circumstances.
If you want more people to play Bubba, you're doing a great job.
-
@I_Teabag_Gate said:
It raises the point.
Killers should not be able to see survivor items or check their profiles.
If I'm allowed switch at the last second I'm already able to stop them setting up to counter my item.
Checking Steam profiles let's killers know if its SWF and how many hours someone has played. Killers don't need that information.
Franklin's Demise is a perk that only does anything if survivors are carrying items. Overwhelming Presence is another. Killers should absolutely be able to see survivors' items.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
So killers get that Information for free and can lobby dodge or change their loadout as they want. But when survivors do the same thing its cheating? Double standards again.
If the devs wanted survivors to have this information, they would have it. This is literally using third-party software to gain an advantage in a game that you're not supposed to have. The only double standard here is yours.

That's neat, I was once rank 1 and I remember it being hard - even nurse was not easy to play and the first P3 killer is nurse. Which gets me to question, is it still that hard at rank 1 killer?
I wouldn't know, I'm rank 10.

I had a survivor earlier today complain about the Huntress using an aimbot. Also using aura reading hacks (I guess).
This was after I ran this Huntress (who had Iridescent heads with infantry belt btw) around for 8 minutes until she finally just gave up and went to look for the Nea who was very poorly urban evading around everywhere looking for the hatch.
30 minute game and I got 28k points and she had 7k (the Meg who died 25 minutes earlier had more points than her).
I don't think it was aimbot and aura reading hacks that got you killed, sweetheart. As if a Nea crouching around with fluorescent pink hair is hard to miss on Pale Rose after she alerted the fifty-billion crows on the ship and wondered why the hell the Huntress went there to look for her. *sigh*
What rank was the Nea, just for the sake of stereotypes?
-
@podkall said:
It's at least a relief that this happens less on killer side due to some things like camping and tunneling not being strong in high ranks which filters them out pretty well. or am I wrong? are there more bad killers in red ranks than I think?
In my experience, red rank killers deserve to be there. Survivors, on the other hand, not so much.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Last time I was in red ranks, I saw a Laurie get sawed in half by a chainsaw while she just didn't even attempt to move from the generator.
Was like, the start of the game (first 40 seconds or so), so it's not like she had a reason to give up.
Like, was she deaf? Was she blind? *Shrug*
Lag spike, maybe? I find that I get big lag spikes right at the start of the trial, even if the rest is stable.
-
I just had a trial where the survivors actually prevented NOED outright by cleansing all the totems on the map. This had never happened to me before as a killer and only once as a survivor. I congratulated them, naturally.

I've had those kind of matches before where I see the absolute carnage and domination I did and feel bad figuring the MM screwed over some poor Green/Yellow bastards only to find out that they were reds.
Although the fact that I'm a 1 Red Rank Survivor should tell you it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to Red Rank :D
I know it doesn't, I'm rank 5 myself. However, they were just... terrible. The last time someone played that poorly I was up against rank 20s.
-
Other (less complicated) options:
- Increase regression speed
- Speed up the "damage" interaction
- Remove gen tapping (maybe make it so repairs don't start until the character is actually repairing the generator)
- Add a very small instant regression (5% should do it) to each "damage" interaction (nerf PGTW accordingly)
-
I took an extended break. I can't be blamed for rank resets.
EDIT: I'm now rank 5, but when I "resumed" I was rank 20. That's not my fault.

I play killer more than survivor. It’s a depip 100%. 3 Hooks at total and even camping them. Noone walked out with anything thus it was a pointless match for all.
Yup. Almost makes you wish you'd finished those gens and escaped instead, huh?

Okay than enjoy being basement camped if you have no problem with that.
About your other point, I really don’t care about other’s bullshit when they cleary main killer blockeads with zero empaty thowards the other side.
Just tought to I put this here as an other example of how ######### solo survivor experience is that you obviusly can’t know.
You weren't basement camped, someone else was. You simply fed the camper.
I'm a rank 5 survivor main (rank 11 killer) and I have no sympathy for feeders. Stop feeding campers, punish them for it. This Huntress learned an important lesson thanks to you: survivors will feed campers.

On some killers, sure.
-
Chase starts when the survivor runs in front of the killer (within a certain distance) or the killer hits a survivor.
Chases can end very quickly. It shouldn't take more than 5 seconds of breaking LOS, by my estimate.

This game I wonder if it's worth it to continue..
No, forum jail.
-
Next time, don't feed. If you were injured in a locker and she was, as you claim, camping the basement stairs, then that means you were there as well, feeding the camper.
PS: If you DC'd, you didn't "escape", you lost. Let's not mince words.

I have already let hundreds of survivors escape, voluntarily! But I never favor someone. whatsoever
Nobody's standing up for these #########. If you hadn't deleted it, the mods would've deleted it for you, likely with jail time. It was a friendly piece of advice for your benefit, not theirs.

I may have to try it one day. Lot of people seem to be on Team Warm Milk for calm (like you said, calms you for sleeping). That just sounds so gross...
Try it first, judge later. I won't tell you you'll like it because taste is subjective.

Report these people in-game, but don't put their names on the forum, that's against the rules.

Gah! Warm milk sounds absolutely disgusting :D
Taking a break though is a solid idea if you're getting that frustrated by it. The SWAT TEAM SWF can be an absolutely mind screw of frustration and you trying to play the next game angry isn't going to do you any good.
Warm milk puts you to sleep right away, it's scientifically proven (maybe).
-
Candyman.
-
I don't think you know what DDOS means. It's not the same as hacking. Also, there are no more hosts in SWF.
To calm down I recommend some warm tea or milk. Sounds silly, but they can be quite calming. You could also take a break from DbD.

yeah I know they do something, but it would be kind of „satisfying“ to get some kind of notification. But as I said, I understand why they don’t do it

People are weird sometimes. I had a game as Spirit last month, first game back (but I was rank 8 since I bashed Oni a lot), and someone accused me of being on a smurf account and being bad? I stomped his team btw, so idek how I was 'bad' to him, or how I am this completely different person he mistook me for. When I demanded an explanation he just left lol.
If someone calls you "bad" when you win, they're just projecting.

that seemed like a small mentioning and not the main point..
which mods do you mean though? Those from Behaviour that will look into the reports of end-game-chat abuse?
would be cool to know that the report of racist slurs etc worked but I guess that would be too much work for little to no profit.
I thought the fact that the story is summarized in the title+2 sentences would indicate it's not the main focus. I edited the OP to make it clearer that this is (supposed to be) a mod appreciation thread.
I mean the BHVR mods that look into the in-game reports, yes. I don't think they split the types of reports into different teams.
Trust me, they work.

If I give someone a specific advice, it's because I do it too or tried it myself at some point or would do it too, if I had their problem. I always tell people to report ######### like this guy because I also always report ######### like this guy.
