I imagine veteran players are having boon ptb flashbacks and the real old players are having mettle ptb flashbacks. Bhvrs track record of introducing then reacting later really doesn’t instill any confidence
True, but this is the first time they are doing PTB for an early preview for something that is not coming out with the next live update.
-
If you think about it. It got indirectly buffed when they reduced the speed boost on injury. So now it would be getting an indirect nerf. To compensate
-
You are correct, it's a basekit feature that's always active. Thankfully this is an early preview that is not coming with the next live update so there is plenty chance for feedback and change.
-
Yep. It is bad design. The offering system is used badly. Disappointing to see they haven't realised that. It should not be used for bp boosts at all. It's supposed to be for things that change the trial. Because why does everyone need to see that people are bringing personal bp offerings at the start?
-
Since when did every killer player slug regularly?
I don't see this change getting in my way at all. Unless survivor abuse it with unbreakable which i do think should be nerfed with it's announced change.
-
No, i won't feel guilty about making people lose a game where the results are completely meaningless.
-
Any Means Necessary
-
Why can't the match get force ended after EGC. This whole ordeal is so stupid.
-
No.
His anti-loop is pretty weak and the snare placement is buggy. Dream Pallets often do not fool survivors.
Dream Projection is pretty much useless without information perks like BBQ and Chili
The dream world obliviousness is not that effective, it just makes it so freddy doesn't work with stealth or terror radius perks which is a shame.
He has the worst add-on set in the game. So many add-ons that do the same thing but with weak side effects. His best add-on is the one that causes survivors to start the trial in the dream world. It's not strong at all but it's as good as it gets.
Overall i think you should only get freddy if you like the look of the dream world or you just want to play freddy and don't care about anything else. For the average player i think they will find freddy to be a boring and weak killer.

How would you remove it then? Because the problem here is that you can’t remove camping without affecting gameplay for the ones who aren’t camping.
They could have at least made Reassurance basekit. But they used it as a selling point for the chapter instead.
-
Are you saying that BHVR shouldn't do more about cheaters and hackers? You are right that the issues streamers are complaining about are mostly exclusive to them but they just illustrate the kind of powers cheaters can have in this game. What other game is there that cheaters can hold players hostage? This post makes you kind of suspicious.
-
Favourite: Spark of Madness. Great characters, fun perks, scary map.
Least favourite: Sadako Rising. I personally don't see the appeal of Ringu so i didn't expect to like this chapter anyway. But the gameplay of the chapter doesn't feel unique or anything. Also Adult Yoichi is an interesting idea that does not have the room to develop in DBD as a licensed survivor. All of the perks are a bit bland.

They are designed to counter camping. Counter camping...counter camping...counter camping. So I have your consent then, OrangeBear, that camping is not an intended feature and is abusive? It is very appropriate to call it an exploit if more than two perks have to be designed to work around it. It's the same with gerrymandering in politics. Does that make it okay? No. Should more be done about it? Yes.
If it wasn't an intended feature wouldn't they just remove it from the game instead of making perks around it?
Looping wasn't an intended feature either but they decided to incorporate the strategy into the design of the maps and perks.
-
I don't believe they have ever said that the choice to have 2 zombies was a technical limitation.
-
Make playing DBD require a phone number verification. It's what blizzard is doing with overwatch 2 to reduce cheaters and smurf accounts.

Doing the objective in the game is not toxic. That is what survivors are supposed to do; it is the crux of their escape plan. I'm not sure what you are requesting here. Are you demanding that survivors not escape by doing Gens, stand by and let you kill them instead? On the other hand, there are no specific add-ons, offerings or anything else that is specifically designed to enhance camping. There may be some by side effect, but that was not their intended purpose. Therefore it is abuse of the game mechanics and should be punished. Bringing in a BNP coupled with a toolbox is not abuse, it is a literal item in the game. Camping is not an item, nor was it an intended feature.
There is the Kinship and Reassurance perks that are designed to counter camping. Therefore, it's not appropriate to consider it an exploit.
-
He could use better add-ons but i think he is pretty solid otherwise.
-
Whenever people say this the message i understand is "Don't camp because it makes the game unfun and harder for survivor players".
My response to that is why should i care?
I don't play this game to entertain other players i play it to entertain myself. I play games because i like being rewarded for efficiency, tunnelling and proxy camping and rarely camping are the most efficient strategies. If i ignore these for the ultimate sake of positive reputation then it comes at the cost of me having fun. It's not worth it for me because i like i said i don't play the game for that.
If people aren't having fun playing the game then i suggest they play a different one. I do the same myself, i respect all players regardless of how they chose to play, because i look at it from their perspective.
-
They can't "fix" cheating. Cheating will always be an issue in every game and it's a dynamic problem. When they "fix" it, the cheaters break it again, so they fix it again, until it gets broken again.
-
I definitely think it's worse. Before i ran small game so Ruin Undying was no problem. Now Eruption, Call of Brine and Jolt are perks that have no counter whatsoever.
-
See the problem is "bad" behaviour is subjective.

I was hoping they would reconsider the Mori rework, so many of us hate it, but... probably not.
I'm thinking that the mori rework has gotten more changes due to feedback hence why it appears that it's been delayed.
-
It's likely the mori rework. In the anniversary stream they said it would be Halloween 2022, so i think that the mori rework has been delayed but they are going to give a preview of it in the dev update.
Custom game bots are winter 2022 so they are expected in chapter 26.
-
I am having the same issue.
This perk charm was the Infectious Fright one.
edit : i just noticed, you can all see all three of this mikaela's perk charms are solid black too.

Look, I respect Otz and he helped make me a better Killer and deserves commendation for that, but ever since the 6.1 update I've started to disagree with him more and more.
I honestly feel like he failed to adapt to the new game. I watch his newest streams, and especially his newest build recommendations and I have a hard time agreeing with him. I feel like he approaches DBD as a competitive game, and it honestly isn't. DBD is a game where sweating is actually detrimental to the game, where shooting for "the win" makes the game bad.
A Killer who "wants to win" is going to bring 4 Gen slowdown perks. They are going to be as oppressive as possible. They are going to hook camp, tunnel, all of the things that make the Durvivor experience undesirable.
Same with Survivor though. Survivors who want to win will rely on SWF team mechanics, which IMO is tantamount to cheating, while doing their best to Harrang and irritate the Killer, destroying the Killer gameplay experience.
IMO, this is actually why they went for the 6.1 update, to try and alleviate some of these symptoms. While yes, any Killer who wants to bring 4 slowdown perks still can, and I'm not on board with saying they shouldn't be able to, they shouldn't NEED to. When I run Killer, I try to bring 1 or 2 slowdowns, while building up what I feel will be a fun and challenging experience for the Survivors.
A good example will be this video here OTZ made about a year ago.
Literally no slowdown in the build, it's a build made to try and arrive just as the Gen pops and create mayhem. Honestly, should Otz win or lose this match, at least everyone was able to actually interact with the trial and play around with the situation the "power role" presented them.
Think about the concept they are bringing with Make Your Maker, where one player creates a difficult situation and it's the other players job to deal with the situation. That's what playing Killer in DBD today is. It's here's what you have got to deal with, deal with it. Should the Survivors overcome your most dastardly design, well good for them, and if the Killer's implementation successfully stopped you, well then good for them. It's an appreciation for the other players actions that is missing from the DBD community. When I play Killer, and others escape, I am happy for them, especially when it was because they overcame rather than I failed. It means that I need to go back to the drawing board, analyze what went wrong, what worked well, and how I can do better. When I play as Survivor, I have to try to find the gaps, the holes. You've got to find the salvation, even if that salvation is being the last alive and finding the hatch. It's eking out that gate escape because I patiently waited for the Killer to patrol this gate and he got impatient and decided to spend just a little to long checking the other gate.
I can't speak on the other issues Otz is having because they don't affect me. I dont have to worry about stream snipers. I rarely run into cheaters and hackers. When I do go against SWFs, even though I do consider their coordination essentially hacking, it is what it is. That doesn't mean I wasn't able to chase them down, it doesn't mean I wasn't able to implement my plan. It just means they were being fed information they weren't supposed to have, but at the same time who am I to say people shouldn't be able to play with their friends? It's just a dirty little reality we as Killer's have to accept.
Maybe a little break from DBD is a good thing for Otz, it will give him the ability to hopefully change his view of the game and let go of these notions he's failed to let go of of the game that were potentially destroyed during the 6.1 update, and for good reason.
Very well written comment but unfortunately i think this will be an unpopular opinion.
-
Do you have clip for this? Last time i was watching him he said that he wouldn't be taking a break because he feels like that would be letting the cheaters/snipers win.

That's not true, i've literally looked at profiles that have it
Keep in mind that Steam Achievement Manager exists. I don't know if i am allowed to say anymore.
-
Nobody has that achievement on steam yet.
-
I've been saying this. I lose so much as survivor but the killers i go against don't get any worse. One match it's bubba with that benji build, i lose, and then next match it's prestige 21 nurse who kills everyone at 2 gens left. It's hard to believe this game has matchmaking at all.
-
No, it's barely being used. It's only good when it's stacked because an extra 30 seconds against a face camping bubba won't help much, especially considering there's 50 extra seconds that they got when the gens got increased.

They say all kinds of stuff. Remember automatic bans? Remember when moris were going to be forced every match? It's better to expect absolutely nothing.
Moris are still supposed to be coming in halloween 2022. So next update.
They definitely made a lot of loose promises in the 5th anniversary stream but in the 6th one they gave time frames for when we can expect the stuff that they said.

Or...You could run it. And stop asking for things to be basekit
No
The problem is that if you have kindred and someone else gets hooked. You see everyone else's aura but they don't see each other and you. So you could be closer and go for the unhook but someone who is a bit further would still be coming for the unhook as well. So basekit kindred is different than basekit borrowed time.
-
@WesCravenFan said:
The developers have flat out said "We are not making Kindred basekit".
Like they have addressed this request. Specifically. Many times.
Stop asking for it. We already got a clear and firm NO on this.
Do you have a source for this?
I have heard from Paulie Esther that they rejected this idea one time but i've never seen a source for it.
-
Yes. Killers would be making a mistake by chasing someone with 3 health states.
To find survivors to heal with Renewal i would recommend Empathy, Bond or Empathic Connection.
I would also recommend Lithe or Smash Hit to get more distance when being tunnelled.
-
Killers play better when they have no perks because they go into the match expecting to lose and with no perks to rely on.
-
That's very lucky
-
I don't think perk is worth running for it's effect alone. Only for scourge hook builds so you can hook in basement. Floods of rage plus monstrous shrine basement hook is quite good.
-
Well it wasn't in the patch notes and it was acknowledged shortly before the 2nd patch so i would assume that it has not been fixed.
-
BBQ was affecting perk variety massively. It should never have gotten the bp bonus in the first place, it was a band-aid for the grind that people became attached to but now they've taken it off and addressed it properly.
WGLF was dumb. You could hook bomb a survivor and get 2 tokens, 1 for protection hit 1 for safe unhook. Unlike BBQ, it did not promote wanted gameplay, it promoted throwing. The new wglf effect is also very cool especially with FTP.
If you want the same token system you can use grim embrace or no way out.
-
survivor is just a lot rougher now. There's many situations where the game previously favoured the survivor but now it favours the killer. Like if you got downed in endgame after being unhooked. Before you would have DS so you would escape but now DS is disabled so you die. You have to endure more now.

Yes yes yes yes a million times yes.
The Default have to stay in the game, no reason to remove them. And trapper is the best option for this considering he was the first.
I wanted Wraith and Billy too, but too late for that.
Sure, we're used to it. But in due time it'd be unique that this one killer has multiple themes.
Wraith? He did not get unique music yet.

Feng Min and Ghost Face

Maybe some auric cells will change your mind (they won't)
-
prime gaming is an extension of amazon prime. there's loads of benefits other than gaming to it
-
I assume yes because the game usually specifies when perks don't stack.
-
I would love for some killer to have a hitscan gun that instadowns.

Isn't that statistic also from a different tracking site that only high-level players are plugging their match info into or something else like it?
Nah check the news section they posted official stats today
-
Buff doctor because why not?
-
Nurse because pallets and vaults are nothing against her.
Blight because it's very hard to dodge him given his hitbox and turn rate.
Pyramid Head because he is designed to tunnel survivors out of the game.
Huntress because of the ridiculous hitboxes.
-
There's an article somewhere whey they said they want the average kill rate to be 2.4, because they feel that is what satisfies most killer players. 2.4 is 60%, so the average kill rate is only 1% higher than they want it to be. It's almost unbelievable how the numbers have shifted exactly how they wanted them to.
