I don't give 2 blue ######### how good his 4v1 is if it feels like garbage to play against. No, having chains passively rammed up your ass is NOT my idea of fun. It is lame and not interactive at all, and once again punishes SoloQ massively while SWF eat like kings.

Oh what luck, how fun, I have to leave this Gen I'm working on on the other side of the map while Ruin is up because one teammate is being chased, the other is hiding in a locker and the stupid ######### Claudette is too busy hiding in a bush 10 feet from the box and is too damn stupid to know to grab it.

It SUCKS and this Killer is entirely carried by something he doesn't even have control over, his power is a worse Clown bottle and if he didn't have this passive carrying him, he would be the worst Killer in the game by a country mile.

Just get the box or let someone else get it.

"Oh what luck, how fun, I have to leave this Gen I'm working on on the other side of the map while Ruin is up because one teammate is being chased, the other is hiding in a locker and the stupid [BAD WORD] Claudette is too busy hiding in a bush 10 feet from the box and is too damn stupid to know to grab it."

No, the Killer isn't carried. Your team is just bad, you have the culprits in reverse. It sounds like you're at super low MMR or are focused on extreme scenarios to justify sweeping opinions (Example: My teammates are useless so Pinhead is therefore garbage to play against.), something that is frequently done when screaming for new Survivor perks to be nerfed.

I escaped low MMR by bringing Left Behind to ensure hatch escapes and it seems to have worked in raising my MMR to let me play with decent teams. You can do the same thing as me and run Left Behind if you seem to consistently get bad Survivors as Survivor.

  • @LeonxJiwoon said:

all indoor maps + dead saloon sucks and I who mostly play survivor says this.

Saloon is surprisingly okay for Survivor if you know how to run the main building and the other tiles. You don't need any breakable walls open to run that map as Survivor.

  • @IamFran said:

If survivors know the the map and spawn places of the gens it is very survivor sided, if the survivor don't know the map and gen spawn places is killer sided.

PS: The semi-infinite of the interrogation rooms should be removed.

That's the only loop that really works, so no, not unless the map is reworked to have more loops.

1:1 maps can work in DBD, but they need to be very carefully balanced when transitioning to DBD. RPD could be good now if they were willing to add more holes in walls for vaults, and change some things in the map to allow for stealth. Add more lockers, changing the courtyard where one of the exit gates are to be better for looping, etc.

It's like how characters from other games should be adjusted accordingly when being put into Smash Ultimate. If the character is too faithful, it can come off as bad. There is typically artistic liberties taken to make the character work, and it's almost always worth it.

  • @MrCalac123 said:

Pinhead is a one trick pony carried entirely by his passive. If they made his passive less severely punishing and buffed him so he doesn't break his own ######### chains, maybe people would enjoy playing him and against him. Instead all we have is Wonder Needles, the Box Slapper.

He exists now to slap the box out of your hand and that's it. It sucks and it sucks to go against too.

But then he would be like all other killers and people would compare him to others.

Pinhead is unique for having a good 4v1, I'd rather that not be removed no matter what.

What I really don't get is why they decided to heavily nerf most of the reasons to play him.

I really really hope they add it to console. I'm so bummed it's currently not heading to console.

Console ports can take a couple thousand to make. Optimization costs even more, most likely.

  • Yeah, so, Not Queen doesn't say it's getting changed, just that Fog Whisperers were consulted and the community was asked. She also probably said this because of the skin color of the other people. She'd be stupid to say "it's not blackface" or disagree with their opinions directly since they'd immediately fire back at her.

Also doesn't refute any of the other arguments here. It's not blackface because it's literally wearing someone's face and Bubba is not doing the other things that go with blackface, you're low-key racist for wanting to exclude black people because of racism (even if you're quoting Twitter, which you definitely are since your mannerisms and word choice are that of Twitter), you don't want equality + you clearly want special privileges for black people.

People are right to call you out and I'm very proud of this community. You're also an alt 100% because of that username and low post count, so the mods should probably look into this.

Why would anyone be talking about it further than it already has when the entire conversation is "This is wrong, I'm leaving, goodbye?" I still don't see some of these people in the forums anymore, indicating that they've made good on their word and left for good, and then there's those like me who's sticking around the forums but not playing the game.

    @OP

If you look at the Hellraiser chapter, it's most recent reviews are overwhelmingly negative. People, even if they still play the game, probably aren't playing Pinhead out of resentment.

Yes, because people are review bombing it over the NFT thing.

Also, following "guilt by association", you're still guilty because you're here, and therefore giving BHVR attention. :)

I'd even hesitate to put her at 'A' tier, as she's just so absurdly bad on the big 3.

She really need a specific sort of map to function well.

Wouldn't say this given how she counters the meta, and counters what people are currently complaining about.

She's B tier at minimum, has an anti-chase power that lets her snowball very, very fast.

There is no circumstance possible where I will support someone getting cancelled for a out of context tweet

however, a out of context tweet does not compare to abusing a child and having lord knows how much child (I am not saying what it is but it rhymes with photography)

Victor ruined a child’s life, and indirectly supported ruining the lives of many more, under no circumstances does that warrant forgiveness after his sentence was served, and if what people say about his behaviour on the JC2 set is true, then he hasn’t changed in the slightest

i’m all for separating the art from the artist when the artist happens to have opinions that most people find uncomfortable, molesting a child and watching videos of other children going through the same thing is not something you can just ignore

your willingness to forgive people is admirable, really it is, but if we are willing to forgive the ######### Victor did then were do we draw the line?

This I agree with. Thank you.

I don’t play Minecraft nor am I aware of what exactly you are referring to.

If you’re trying to justify Victor’s crimes, then this conversation can end here, if not then please enlighten me.

Twitter essentially got mad over Notch's beliefs. Don't remember what it was, and I'm sure nobody actually remembers. If I ask people here, they'll just throw out things they barely remember, or how Notch was -ist and -ic, every word under the sun. :)

And no, because that's not my point. The point is the situation regarding the IPs, and how one was made by a "problematic" person and should therefore be boycotted and yet it's still here + people are allowed to play it without getting canceled and doxxed... VS Jeepers who has also gotten the scorn of people but people can't support that because they'd be "supporting their legacy".

This is obviously a blatant double standard. Anyone who specifically takes the "supporting their legacy" stance has to be consistent or they have to admit that IPs can be "purified of their problematicness".

(Also, just as a note, I think pedophiles should be burnt. I hope nobody here tries to do the "You SUPPORT VICTOR???" thing again. Because this is insulting.)

you can’t blame the community for this after we have gotten all other licenses without NFT scum.

  • Thing.PNG

    On the contrary.

Using the reviews for DLC, something that nobody ever reviews because nobody checks those pages + it's pointless, isn't as strong as a main page. It's easier to influence ratings on these isolated because of this. Not as many reviews needed to get a mostly negative thing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention something: The other DLC pages seem to have around the same amount, and it's typically people reviewing licensed content like Stranger Things and Halloween. These pages seem to have memes and stuff, it's checked by the fans of the IP.

After the day I had today playing, I'm not 100% sure. I even threw NOED on for a few games just to try to take that junk out of the game but then it just became five generators of me getting made to look like an idiot and then I'd kill 1-4 people with NOED.

I just don't know what BHVR wants from me anymore. The deck was already pretty stacked against killers versus good survivors and BHVR seemed to be dead set on stacking that deck against killers as much as humanly possibly in this last chapter/hotfix patch.

from a lack of voting rights to constant surveillance

He was a pedo, surveillance is sure as hell deserved.

it's saying that offenders can never be rehabilitated and need to be punished until they die

He was a pedo, punishment until his death is deserved.

Salva commited a crime. For doing that thing, he went to prison, served his probation and has never reoffended

That changes nothing, he will always be associated with the Jeepers Creepers license no matter who owns it in the future. Also do you really think the victim and everyone involved will view it that way? Morally it will never be forgotten, especially by that poor victim, they have to live with that for the rest of their life.

You literally would not know he made Jeepers until you looked it up.

And this is really pushing it. By this logic, Minecraft should be canceled because Notch had wrong beliefs.

I do agree with Shadow Step needing a buff. A killer who understands how to track survivors will have zero issues with countering that perk.

Yeah, exactly. It doesn't really feel worthy of being a Boon with all of the limitations of a Boon, since it's not useful/strong.

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

The problem with boons is the fact that they can be relit a stupid amount of times, far more than old undying could

Survivors waste 12 seconds blessing a Dull Totem. Snuff two Boons total and you basically just bought the same amount of time a Pop charge would.

  • @xBEATDOWNSx said:

Boon's are fine honestly. As a killer, if I chase someone through the range of a boon and lose scratch marks, I make a note to come back to check the area if I lose chase/ down them. If survivors are healing in seconds, it's the same idea.

They take 24 seconds for a survivor to set up and 2/3 seconds to snuff out.

Now if BHVR adds a Boon that doubles as a mini Prove Thyself... Well get the pitchforks

I'd love boons that reduce sounds tbh. Footstep sounds are extremely loud and Reid is Jeff 2.0 in terms of being loud when injured. No scratch marks does not mean anything when there are 3 other ways of tracking Survivors. I'd argue that Shadow Step needs a buff if anything, since it's not as good as Circle and not worth running.

  • @Dumpstick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2594280#Comment_2594280

Do them again. If survivors are wasting time relighting totems that's a win for you.

This. It takes 2 seconds to snuff a totem, and 12 to reignite them. Snuffing a boon twice is the equivalent of 1 Pop charge. 12+12=24, Pop reduces around 25 seconds of gen progress.

You don't need to go looking as well, just snuff a totem if it's nearby a gen being done or if you see it. Survivors will waste time reapplying them, which buys you time.

I would actually argue that Boons are like Thrill of the Hunt and not Undying: You can turn them against the other side if you know what you're doing.

  • @jesterkind said:

I respect that- I just think that if someone's clearly getting irritated and worked up over their perceived powerlessness, maybe I can help by talking about the ways to deal with it. Sound, blood (+ Bloodhound), non-aura tracking like Whispers, Spies, Discordance, all of that still works against Shadow Step, to say nothing of the fact that it's easily the most obvious one to snuff since survivors immediately run you towards it.

Circle of Healing, again, is a different beast- but Shadow Step is definitely something you can deal with.

Fair but a warning: This is the DBD forums, people don't like change here, and people don't like it when the Survivor meta changes, at all. They recite streamers' opinions like religious people as well.

People were told how to counter Legion, some very smart people explained how to turn the old Spirit "50/50s" into 80/20s. It all fell on deaf ears.

It should just work, without needing anyone to be close by.

I was thinking that with the struggle phase change, Camaraderie could be tied to Activate Ability or secondary action. Would be very easy to activate in between skill checks.

  • The two big problems with Camaraderie is how you basically need a SWF to use it since nobody will know that you have it so that you can use it, and that the name was changed to something worse.

Camaraderie is iconic, even if it's a unusual word that is hard to spell. I dunno why it was changed! :(

... Jokes aside, nobody will know that you have it, and nobody will be looking at your hook timer when they get close enough to you, they're going to be looking everywhere else for the Killer, traps, etc.

Of course, if there was stuff to let you know that you had it, Camaraderie might become completely broken because of the amount of time it gives...

  • Nah, seems too weak. We need to make the bullet a nuke instead. Then it's balanced, and a good Survivor perk.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2597481#Comment_2597481

You are often better off not using the ability than using it, but that doesn't mean the ability is weak. It gives you pretty much a guaranteed hit against a survivors that is locked in animation, unless of course you've got a very bad angle on them. If they don't vault or drop a pallet, you just cancel the ability. Of course it's loop dependent whether that works or not. Bigger loops are often actually stronger for Pyramid Head, because if survivors don't drop the pallet, Pyramid Head can cancel his ability, and his cooldown is short enough to catch up to the survivor before they get around the loop again. If the loop isn't that big, then you've got a very similar mindgame as you have with Huntress.

Trying to hit survivors with his ability that aren't locked in animation is not a good idea, unless the survivor doesn't have line of sight on you, then it can work. But if the survivor sees where you are aiming at, the chances are very slim that you'll get a hit with Pyramid head's ability against them, because of the shock wave delay and the limited turning rate.

I wouldn't mind if it was faster, and maybe even had more range, but only if the cooldown of canceling the ability, and maybe even the charge time of the ability, was increased a bit as well.

Yeah, the problem is, Survivors who know how that works are not going to give you the animation lock. They're looking behind them and they know how to make themselves hard to hit. You cancel your power, the Survivor will reposition better. The devs made sure you can't do that anymore because of the long cooldown. lmao

And again, DH is meta, it's super easy to use against PH's M2. You can land a hard read, but the Survivor WILL evade your next M2 if they have DH.

what do you mean should not get stopped by objects? POTD goes through walls. I also disagree with it needing to be faster. It's fine and works like a dream. You just need to practise it and know when to and not use it. If it was any easier to hit he would be way too strong as dodging is currently the only counter play there is. You can't hide behind objects or throw a pallet to dodge it. Especially when it can even hit during a pallet stun so you get a hit anyway. Practise, practise, practise and you'll be hitting POTD reliably even against the best of survivors.

I mean that on some tiles like the long loops on Trappers' maps, it feels like it gets... stopped almost. Maybe this is because of the short range but... I dunno.

And lmao no offense but I couldn't disagree with this more. He's too reliant on hard reads to hit or animation locks. It's exactly why people don't use his M2 and mostly play him for his ability to go through hook states faster. It's too slow, too easy to dodge.

"You can't hide behind objects or throw a pallet to dodge it. Especially when it can even hit during a pallet stun so you get a hit anyway."

I mean no offense, but you must be going against bad Survivors if you're throwing this at me. Remotely competent Survivors know this, they're going to be trying to dodge your power like Huntress or Slinger or Trickster by running around loops accordingly.

  • Essentially something on how NFTs deal damage to the environment because of how they're produced. Even though the people caring probably think "green energy" is unironically a great idea and won't damage the environment in the process.

  • @nikodemo said:

I'm open to it. He definitely needs an add on pass.

M2 should apply torment either at base or with an add-on.

Rotation with M2 needs to be addressed and smoothed out a bit. It's so clunky it makes some hits literally impossible because the rotation angle is so high.

His M2 just needs buffs. Needs major range buffs imo, and should not get stopped by objects. Also needs be faster because this is the easiest ability to Dead Hard based off of pure reaction. There's too much counterplay baked into it, it needs some of it removed because it's too easy to dodge consistently.

I was in a killer match where it was one Boon after another, some in the same places where i found them the first time.

Survivor sets a Boon, you snuff it, then a few minutes later another shows up, sometimes in the same place.

Does this feel like an abuse of a perk? A strong perk that can be repeated over and over with no downside toward the survivors? I mean, when Survivors break a Hex, killers can't reactivate them on another Dull.

I just think this would be a reasonable change to Boons. Not the perks ability or the perks themselves, just let the Bones be broke when snuffed.

Why not just... put the Boon on a small cooldown when snuffed? Wouldn't that fix the issue?

if you dont mind me asking, how would you tweak his m2 to make it abit better?

Not a Survivor main, but increase the base kit range, reduce some of the delay (DH completely destroys his power), maybe make it slightly wider and make it so that it still triggers even when going through objects so the range is visible. And also, y'know, make it work even when no ground is detected or if elevation is detected.

It's so easy to counterplay, you need to animation lock in order to hit it against good Survivors. Otherwise, you need insane reads.

Really love this guy, as Hellraiser is, next to The Thing, my favorite horror movie of all time.

That said, his abilities really aren't well explained.

    • What is the purpose of your chain summon? Is this ever worth using aside from scouting/a bit of BP? In a chase, even if it connects (really difficult on some maps) I find that the time I spent summoning and controlling it is - at best - a wash. It always feels better to just chase.
    • What exactly does Chain Hunt do? It summons chains, and seems to occasionally injure people - but whenever I play him, survivors just never seem to manage gens. Is this interfering with people working on gens somehow?
    • When a survivor picks up the box, but doesn't solve it - and just lugs it around with them, how do I approach this? If they are sufficiently good at looping, it feels like they can stall me out almost indefinitely (had a game earlier with a Leon who did just that).
    • Should I always teleport to the box when someone is solving it?
    • Is it just me, or are his addons mostly...bad?
    1. It's supposed to be an anti-loop ability but it can be hard to use.
    2. Chain Hunt frequently opens small blue portals, then portals aim a chain right at the Survivor's current location. The Survivor can hear all of this and dodging the chains is easy. But this makes doing gens difficult to impossible. Which is why people say Pinhead has good 4v1.
    3. The Survivor's Chain Hunt timer should be progressing while the others are depleted and then paused. Once it hits max, they should get chains on them frequently. Which makes them easier to injure and down. You may want to ignore the person with the box until they have max chain hunt, and then chase them when they're not expecting it.
    4. No. This is typically a waste of time and the box is automatically solved for the Survivors if you teleport. You want to try and walk to and interrupt the Survivor with the box if you can. This is typically done by using your power to chain the Survivor before they can finish the box. If you can injure or down them, even better.
    5. I watch Tru3 for Pinhead gameplay and I only have my own personal experience, but the ones that increase the time to open the box make it easier to interrupt the box because you have more time to use your power + get closer to the person with the box. The ultra rare that injures healthy Survivors upon successful chain summons is great all-around as well. Gives Pinhead a ranged power, which lets him start chases with injured Survivors instead of healthy. Great for M1 Killers.

I like it! Very useful for protecting the good boons that the killer will be in a hurry to destroy.

    For example:

Boon Totem: Misdirect - Bless a totem. As long as it is lit, any stack that the killer earns for a perk is instead applied to a random applicable perk on a random survivor. If there are no survivor perks that take stacks, the killer is still denied all stacks until the boon is destroyed.

NGL, this actually sounds good, but could be really strong in the hands of SWF.

You'd need to adjust maps and add more generators, because we can't just have 8 survivors working on five gens. With Prove Thyself, it would just make the match way too short. You'd need to make maps bigger then, and that's no fun for killers.

But then you also make looping completely impossible. With two killers on a loop, a survivor can't do anything but just hold W until they get killed.

They could try stealth, but... Doctor is a thing. Imagine a Doctor/Spirit combo, you just wouldn't get to play as survivor.

This actually isn't as bad as it sounds, Identity V already does this and 2 Killers on a single Survivor is basically throwing the game. And as for Killers running the same loop... well, we all know why 2 Survivors running the same loop is bad, right? Same thing here.

I don't know what a boon totem will be, so I decided to share two very bad ideas

Boon Totem: 1 (no name idea)

You can bless a totem once in the game. After blessing the totem, attacks that would take you from a healthy state to a dying state will put you in a deep wound state. The totem's aura will be hidden from killer for 50/55/60 seconds. Each other boon totem: 1, reduces time by 10 seconds.

Boon Totem: 2 (no name idea)

You can bless a totem once in the game. After blessing the totem, it will take 3 hits to knock you down. Totem aura will be visible to killer within 16/14/12 meters. Each other boon totem: 2, increases aura by 1 meter.

    Boon Totem 3: Gg Ez

Approach a totem and press the Active Ability button to immediately kill the Killer and escape the match with 32k BP.

    Boon Totem 4: Discord

Approach a totem and press the Active Ability button to set up a Discord call with 2/3/4 other Survivors. Increase your chances of surviving by 200%/300%/400% and increase the Killer's misery by 200%/300%/400%.

As far as I know, each blade thrown is counted as a "special attack", hence why PWYF loses a token per knife. If so, does that mean that each knife hit will apply Third Seal, and each knife hit will block pallets? Because especially that last part could get out of hand very easily.

I can't imagine BHVR overlooking something like this, but it makes sense that the blades would trigger this judging by their interaction with other perks. If anybody could correct me I'd appreciate it, because a Trickster who can block all pallets close to him by hitting one knife seems better than Nurse in chase.

Sounds like a much needed Trickster buff. /s

didn't even test it and here we are already complaining lol

    "no one will play spirit."

    great.

If it will be like old Huntress, prepare for Spirit players moonwalking while in phase.
