I am Solo, so what does that say?
That you are good/above average/ and make smart plays.
Not trying to sound rude, just that you know what to do unlike most people that just hide.

I've been escaping alot in the last few weeks, so much more than i used to and i haven't changed the way i play at all. Survivor seems too easy, so easy its kinda boring
Am i the only one who feels this?
Nope, survivor has been always the easier role, except solo queue but yeah, 2 man ez mode, 3 man why even try mode, 4 man usually ez escapes.
Only solo queue and killer require skill and knowledge, the rest not really especially with how people play these days.
-
They should add cheating, hacking and using slurs because I still get those and they don't get banned.
-
Clearly you are as good as a player with 2k hours, bhvr should give up in the idea of mmr but they won't because they spent 2 minutes into it.
All they did is make queues take longer and matches last less than 6 minutes, fun.
But basically what is happening to you is that you are getting outplayed by bhvr and their horrible mmr system.

Understandable, I was mainly referring to the pallet animation, generator I can understand, and while he does rarely use his clever in the games like you stated, I still would think he would prefer to use his clever on a piece of wood opposed to kicking it.
Yeah 100% I would love to see him use the clever to destroy pallets, I wonder why they never thought of it considering how loved PH is, the silent hill fanbase is probably one of the best fanbases out there that will follow silent hill stuff wherever they go.
-
I mean unless you know silent hill 2 then you know that PH rarely uses his clever, in fact you can steal it from him, he also has like 3 in game animations.
But considering that bhvr re uses every animation I doubt we will see a change, look at boons and how killers destroy it, same hatch animation, pallets and doors? Same animations with a few exceptions ofc like nurse, oni etc.
Also fun fact, if PH hit a gen with his clever most likely the gen will be destroyed, a pallet makes sense but not a gen.

What is worse than a sore loser? A sore winner. As Killer you can't do anything to stop them from leaving. In a few cases the overestimate and get caught, but that good feeling does not erase the other times when they just tease you.
I read many times, that you can just ignore it or don't go to the exit gates. If ignoring it would help, there would not be daily complains about it. And if you don't go to the exit gates, you have to stand somewhere waiting until they leave, a complete time waste.
I am proposing to change that, so you can't crouch at the exit gates and in an area around it, because everybody knows, survivor will just find a way to exploit it.
Nobody would be harmed. It has only positive aspects.

No, the devs need to see how many people are leaving because of it.
I am playing survivor until VHS comes out. My brother has 2k hours as killer, and isnt even buying the new killers. Hes playing survivor for a few matches, playing other games.
They need to address it. Id rather old DS anyday.
Theyll never release it but id love to see the drop in killer players numbers
I don't remember this thread but numbers are dropping at least on steam, last week we had 38k players, 2 days ago we had a constant 28k, that is a massive drop, I haven't played against a console killer in a while.
When the artist came out we had 34k, which is even less than when a chapter comes out.
See, I hate to say "this is going to kill the game finally" but people are honestly just quitting because of how unfun the game is for killer, I too main killer but have been taking a break from the game in general, this is my 3rd week of only playing the game for dailies then go play something else.
I just dislike that if I want to have fun as killer I have to play really strong killers aka blight, nurse, the rest of the killers just play pre drop simulator or pallet breaking simulator.

Hello everyone,
this will be a rather pointless post, but its just an observation that I made.
When you are totally crushing the survivor team as a killer, hooking everyone, outplaying them, disrupting their plans, etc. at one point the survivors might just give up. They then t-bag in a certain way that indicated defeat, and you could hearlessly and mercielessly mow them down, but that feels somewhat rought.
Same thing, very often, when I wounded and downed the last survivor, I gave them hatch or carried them over to the exit gate and let them wriggle out. Normally all these players are very thankful in the after game chat and tell you how cool of a killer player you are.
The other way, though, its works far less. If the survivors are totally dominating the game, they 99% of the time just keep up the pressure, go for each and every flashlight/pallet save, swarm you, body block on the way to the hook, sabotage etc. If the killer gives up, he will be flashlight clicked, taunted, t-bagged to no end, sometimes even stalling for the end of the game, essentially taking it hostage.
In my (still rather fresh) 255h with this game (about 4/5 as killer, if not more) I have encountered exactly ONE survivor who acknowledged that I gave a fair game, while still being destroyed by the others, and who then waited at a hook at the EGC. One singel person. Another time, that I will never forget, I downed a survivor during the EGC and carried them to the exit gates, but he wriggled left and right and crawled out, so that I could pick him up. That makes two instances of Altruism towards me, the player behind the killer, vs uncounted humiliating and hurtful attacks at me.
I know that it is an asymetric team game, that fosters a we vs him attitude, but I get the feeling that its somewhat expected to show mercy as a killer in certain situations, while a code of conduct for survivors has never been established. The hight of altruism might be to let the killer hit everyone at the exit gates, but even that is debateble as its more a humiliation ritual.
Just my thoughts and maybe someone of you has something interesting to add to this.
Happy hunting (and surviving) everyone.
Don't worry, I have 3k more hours than you and I have only played against like 10 survivors who are actually very nice, some even friend requested me.
See I don't want to make this a me vs them comment but we are going there, usually survivors see the killer as a joke but if the killer does anything that can make them unhappy even if it is the teammate they will complain to the killer.
One thing that I've started doing, if the survivors play fun I type gg if the survivors are boring I just go next asap, no need to waste time typing anything since usually they will complain regardless.

I'm not going to get into super specifics (don't want to spread this) but it involves a sequence of stairs and vaults that makes you able to loop the majority of killers (including Nemesis) for upwards of a minute with no obvious counterplay or risk. And it's super easy to access from anywhere on the map.
Ran into it today and...yay. Now we have a Tower of Pain.
So it didn't get fixed during the PTB, it is almost like PTBs are only for streamers to bring more people in and never get a change.
I'm not going to spread the word as well but it is pretty dumb that bhvr does not change anything regarding maps.

But I'm saying that the DG masks never stopped being a thing. People have been able to unlock them on Steam for free even though DG is dead. So, the DG masks really aren't comparable to any of the other "exclusive" items. The event and legacy cosmetics aren't earnable/unlockable anymore, whereas the DG cosmetics never stopped being unlockable. No purchase required, no installation, no playtime, all you had to do was be linked to a Steam account, which meant consoles specifically were excluded because there's no cross-progression. Everyone except console has had the ability to unlock the DG masks this whole time by doing practically nothing. You can't say the same for event or legacy cosmetics.
I'm making no comment about whether I think legacy or event cosmetics should be made available to everyone. I'm just saying that the DG masks are nothing like those. Using the DG masks as a reason to bring up event or legacy cosmetics is spurious. And I'm baffled by the people who seem upset about the DG masks because the only thing holding console players back from getting them even just last week was a lack of cross-progression, nothing more.
I'm not upset at console getting stuff, I'm upset at what exclusive means for this company.
That is about it, I basically said legacy because of those cosmetics being rare (even though there are twitch streamers with hacked accounts that still have them, example account made in 2019 but with all legacies).
I'm upset or maybe sad that exclusive means nothing for this company, like I said I have the huntress mask when the event was a thing, the billy bbq hammer, now that everyone has it, what is the point of it being rare? Like is there even a point in having exclusives?.
I know what you are saying, that the dg mask is free for every steam user, imagine if you got a rare skin in any game, that you grinded the heck out of it just for devs to be like "nah free".
I say legacy because that is the only exclusive item there is left.
-
Since the mmr got activated?
About 3 on the killer side, only if I have dailies.
For the survivor side aka the fun side, I do play for about 4-5 hours.

The only people that play him, including me don't play dbd anymore, we play breaking pallet simulator with all the pre drops.
But I can clearly say, there are about 3 of us playing billy in my region or servers.
Not everyone likes pre droppers.
-
If I had to do this game but for the survivor side running exhaustion perks, I would die of alcohol poison within 5 matches.
If I include boons, unbreakable, ds or BT, I would probably die in the first match.

But you can't still unlock Legacy cosmetics. Steam players could still unlock the DG masks just by clicking a link and hitting "cancel." I added DG to my Steam library just last week to see if it still worked, and it does. There was no exclusiveness to the DG cosmetics, no purchase or playtime required.
But if dbd was on ps4 when legacy was a thing then many players would've gotten it as well and that probably, bhvr has been saying "this is an exclusive item" but has been giving these exclusive items to everyone, like the bbq billy hammer, or the huntress mask, kate's shirt etc.
My point is, what is the point of keeping exclusive items if they are being given for free later on? I understand legacy players will feel horrible or annoyed if they grinded for nothing.
I didn't had a pc but I used to watch dbd early on like a month or so after release and when it came to ps4 I bought it.
-
Billy and Oni, Idc if the billy player is bad if they are playing billy I will gladly loop against you because I know you and me love that.
Really good oni players as well, I know how painful the game it is for oni players right now with the pre drops and stuff but I love to play against them.

Personally, I would love if escaping as a survivor was more rare and only happened in situations of extreme teamwork coordination (I don't care about dying as long as I get a few fun chases), the maps were darker like before , there was more blood and better sound for tracking and less powerful perks. More emphasis on stealth instead of having everyone running around and less aura-reading perks.
What about you?
Dbd would be perfect for me if there were no exhaustion perks, neither noed.
Basically bailout perks, to be able to get 1/2 kills with noed and extend chases by a lot because of a perk.
-
Can't wait for legacy to be available for everyone, if the excuse is "not everyone was able to get it" when I was on ps4 I never got the chance to get it because the game wasn't on it until later.

I had a game tonight on Haddonfield.
I booned a house in the corner at the start of the game because I wanted to gain access to my infinite heals. Little did I realize it would turn into a fiesta where all four of us just kept bum rushing the Huntress, running to the boon, spam healing ourselves and each other, and then bum rushing her again.
This tomfoolery lasted, literally, around 10 minutes and it was the stupidest thing I've seen in awhile.
I kid you not when I say that boon probably assisted with, or allowed, around 40+ heals. The huntress couldn't even move to snuff it out, because we were just throwing ourselves at her for funsies.
---
Then again, we did all die in the end... I guess that means CoH needs a buff, if anything.
Try a build dedicated to healing, with coh, it is the most stupid thing I've seen, healing in like 6 seconds is really stupid.

I mean sure the algorithm needs tweaking but what also doesn't help is that the meta is favoring survivors imo at the moment. With less killers playing of course the ones that are still playing, were going to have a wider range of skill rather than what our actual mmr is. Thus why you get games you can 4k and the next one you literally have a 4 man escape.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658228#Comment_2658228
Thats why I brought up inbalances my post, which was the essentially getting at what you stated.

No thanks, I already know how it feels to play those dog water killers.
I think you should also mention that the only killers he has been playing is blight with double speed addons or 1 speed addon and c21.
You see I love Tofu because I can relate, I watch him daily but I hard disagree with him saying that killers only want an ez w instead of improving, we argued over an hour yesterday, you probably saw him and me talking to each other for about 30 minutes about mmr, he gave OW examples and I gave Apex examples.
What he basically said is play meta if you want to fight meta, I have no idea who doomfist is but I guess OW but he basically said the same thing that I said in apex.
This is no longer about personal skill imo this is about map rng, I can run ruin undying corrupt tinkerer every single match and will get different results, even if I'm a top player (which I'm not) map rng + people thinking they are high comp players are ruining the fun for the killer.
He also had a poll which I disliked because not only viewers will carter to what he is saying (on the mmr topic) viewers will side with him, example when slinger got nerfed and he played him Tofu said that slinger is still really strong that not that much changed, then chat started saying how it was true and true, but how come you don't see slingers anymore? I've seen 1 slinger since his nerf.

I was watching ohtofu last night and he brought up the current state of killers. Tdlr he essentially was saying that killers are being babies because mmr is doing it’s job. I mean sure we’re not 4king every game but a lot of us are still 4K at least 50+ percentages of our games. The mmr is working as intended and putting us against skilled survivors, the way it should be. Kinda was a wake up call to me personally and gave me more perspective on the games I lose. Instead of thinking the game is inbalanced (which I still think it is to a certain degree) I took tofus advice and now am thinking more or less what I did wrong during my matches instead of thinking this game is just 1 sided.
Just my last piece of advice I’d like to leave all my killers out there is unless your getting paid to play this game (content creators) why do you care if you lose? Sure it’s annoying to get teabagged / Bm’d but it’s not worth working up a stress over this game.
He also said yesterday that mmr is bringing competitiveness to a non competitive game, which if bhvr really wants to go that path then they should make a ranked mode.

Idk the original name or the name people have given it but it is the extra flick you can do with certain killers like oni blight where you can actually do unintended stuff, you can do a proper 180 and if you have way higher dpi you may be able to do a 360 hit, I tried it with 6k dpi and wasn't able but I was able to do that with blight only with oni it is more like a 180
-
Maybe it is because you are more used to playing billy? Billy main as well, I have no issues playing as either but for me bubba is way easier to learn and master compared to all the things you have to learn as billy.
Especially in certain spots with invisible collision.
But yeah it is a hot take, I respect it but I disagree.
-
Saw a bit of your stream, about 30 min, wish I had survivors like that, survivors that lasted 20 seconds in chase that rarely look back against a pig.
Chill stream though.
The thing is that after this rank reset something happened, survivors have been extremely clueless even on my end which is weird, and when I play survivor I get paired with people that have 8 hours in the game (not joking)

Did every killer 2 games each. Iridescent 1. Lost 6 matches total (3k escapes), Tied 2 times, 3k'd 11 times and the rest was 4k's the rest of the time. Played as Iri 4 Survivor with my dude and barely won with escapes while having the most points just about every match. Always had a survivor who would screw up the game. Killer is far from hard. I did the killer challenge without tunneling, camping AND with only 1 gen regression perk. No stacking Ruin with Pop. The games were pretty easy. If you're losing then it's probably your skill added with camping and tunneling just to win. This game is really balanced but 1 bad Survivor can ruin a survivor's team from winning. 15 hours of killer streams total and 5 hours of Survivor to show the difference and BOTH Iri.
Being an adult with 2 kids is easy, especially having to buy baby food and diapers, the easiest part is not being able to sleep and having to work 12 hours the next day.

Scratch that, PC blights are boring to go against. I’ve just been getting sweaty pc blights with their DPI cranked up, escaped a couple, lost a couple, he’s still boring to go against in the end. Idk why BHVR can’t just adjust his power to not be affected by DPI or to just adjust it to the maximum range console players can curve with it.
Higher dpi does not mean more than 180°, even controller can do hug techs and the up down flick, controller can do the same but people instead of practicing they just complain.

It’s not gone. I play blight on pc as well and adjusting your DPI affects just the curve alone. Add one of the turn add ons or both and it’s crazy how they can get curves that realistically shouldn’t happen.
But this comment made me realize you do not know anything about blight if you think turn rate addons are good.

Between today's earlier thread on Survivor queues getting longer, the below reddit thread and my own experience as Survivor as of late, it is clear that there is a greater lack of Killer players in the community, and most of the people who prefer to play Killer typically point to the same thing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/qzk55b/where_did_the_killers_go/
The Killer role is just very, very stressful. Even now, when I've managed to give up on caring about winning or losing, I still get Killer Jitters, and some days I still stop myself from even booting up Dead by Daylight for Killer because of the risk of people actively trying to stress me out. Even when people aren't toxic, it's hard to feel like Killer is a rewarding experience nowadays. I, and I'm sure many others, often feel like Killer gets punished for having a good match with a 3k or 4k by having to play an obscenely strong team next game and get obliterated where 3 gens are done by the time you get the first Hook. The current MMR system only deciding based on kills or escapes doesn't work, and I'll be happy to offer some ideas for how to change it at a later time.
Going back and forth between having a good game and getting utterly wrecked isn't fun.
On top of the typical stress that comes with playing Killer, the game is rife with hackers. Many console players have turned crossplay off, and PC players have no option but to dodge. The hacking has gotten so subtle that it can sometimes be very difficult to tell whether or not a Survivor is cheating or legitimately good.
I remember reading from a BHVR dev once that it particularly stings when players say devs don't care. Personally, I think the devs do care, but the constant outpour of content every 3 months really hurts the devs ability to do QoL stuff and maybe help Killer be a more fun and less stressful experience. Otherwise, more and more people are going to take Cote's advice. Seems like they already are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvRMd7aQ5v4
I hope that the devs are considering doing something to make Killer less stressful.
No, they won't make it less stressful and more fun BUT you can buy the new skins!!

Or do you take a more balanced approach?
These days, I'm leaning more away from regression perks in general, as I find that a lot of the time, Ruin can be inconsistent and if I'm struggling enough to want the regression, Pop is of limited help.
Instead I'm leaning more towards an information heavy, maximum offense/pressure build and just straight unga-bunga'ing it. Nothing gets people off gens like two people on hooks.
LP+Plaything+Retribution+BBQ/Discordance is probably my main build on any non stealth killer right now.
On stealthies, it's usually LP+Devour Hope+Retribution/STBFL+Monitor/BBQ
Depends on the killer.
Snowballers I go for info.
Set up, a mix between info and slowdown.
Meh killers I go for whatever is on my mood atm.

I wish they would add more, I still get paired in east and west servers just because I am in central, we do not have a proper server so the game just tosses us randomly from time to time.
There are no dedicated central servers in the U.S and I bet a lot of Brazilian players would also love a proper server since for some reason they play with us.

You know what’s sad? I have a theory that a lot of DBD cheaters/hackers never played DBD before the cheats. Whenever I watch a content creator run into some of them, they look like they do not know the basics. They start off with light blatant hacks, then after failing a few times to either catch or evade the opposition, it’s like they just say “F it” and turn on the full blown hacks. They stop trying to do their objectives, and just focus on being a spectacle in the trial.
I guess what I’m really trying to say is, some people out there just came to this game because they see it’s online and you can ruin the experience for others with these cheat menus they purchased/acquired.
I agree and considering it is really hard for bhvr to ban them it is like ruining a game for people for the cheap price of 20 dollars.

That map helped me get a lot of adepts even when the killer wasn't suited for it.
I will also miss getting into the room with 2 pallets that has lockers in there to use head on.

This may well be a hacker (never seen the 2nd killer in the lobby before) but there have been instances where a survivor has been exchanged for another killer when loading into the game.
Have had a Nemesis and Deathslinger before, except on the results screen the extra Nemesis was displayed with the details of the survivor who was meant to be there.
Neither killer knew what was going on and they just dicked around for a bit, revelling in the absurdity of it before letting the survivors escape.
Presumably there was another game loading simultaneously that ended up with 5 survivors and ended before it began.
Games with 5 survivors usually end when they all load.
Games with 2 killers will continue, and yeah 100% this was a cheater as I saw them change in the lobby.
But yeah sometimes it CAN be a bugged lobby, it happened a long time ago as well, maybe you remember but there was a time where there was server issues and it was possible to play a 4 killers 1 survivor in the match.

I had this once where 2 survivors changed to killers last second.
i think those two were harmless but now I would also just turn off the game during the loading screen.
That is what I do, currently since the cheater pandemic started, I've been dodging private profiles because I'm tired of seeing cheater, I'm not joking when I say, I have seen about 20 cheaters just this week alone, I'm tired of getting taken hostage and dc penalties.

Tbf if I saw that I'd stay and take the 5min dc penalty if needed. Really curious to see what that looks like and the survivors reactions lol.
From my experience, I have played matches like this, usually survivors want out but the killer will pick them up and go to the sky where you can't pick them.
If you have not experienced it I suggest you give it a try but it is not as funny as you'd think, killer just zooms, downs, and use other killer's powers.
