smash hit deserves far less ire than head on given there's places in the game like several on rpd where there's unavoidable hallway lockers en route to the only hooks around (on distance note that's dead hard's better use: resetting a chase with a distance bump to another loop if done right)
I actually forgot smash hit was a perk, yeah I think smash hit is more healthy than most exhaustion perks.
-
Not until crashing and script kiddies have been dealt with.
I don't like playing against script kiddies and right now there are a lot.
-
I'm against every exhaustion perk but head on that says a lot.
I personally dislike dead hard because most people use it for distance these days.
I would say either remove the iframes or remove the dash.
I call dh an error fix, because it literally helps people that mess up the most like a killer did a mindgame that actually was going to hit? Nah E to fix my mistake.
On that note I hate most hexes especially noed as a killer main and also hate boons.
-
Great insight
-
For me 3/10, when they said they worked hard for this I thought they meant it but the only different thing is the extra halloween archive and a pumpkin.
-
We back to 2018???? Happy billy noises!!
I need to test this if it is true.
-
I had my most hated achievement which was evil incarnate.
Now that I have it I can do it more easily.
But probably power moves, it was really fun.

Those points are fair enough but it's just my opinion
Also ik Save sucks on Billy but I don't have Bamboozle yet ok it's a band-aid for now
As a replacable perk I guess it can be a thing, I just don't think it is one of those perks that billy needs, and yes I've been maining billy for about 3 years.
To each their own and how they use them.
-
Billy with stbfl....... Can't tell if you are trolling or not.
But I will take the bait, stbfl is really good in most m1 killers, demo being the strongest user.
It is decently good against hold W players.
Probably one of the healtiest perks in the game.
Stbfl has limits on what it can do, most of the snowball comes from survivors stacking up.

I don't want Ruin Undying nerfed, lmao. No idea where you got that from. I defend the survivor side when I see dumb comments from killers, sorry.
"The OP isn't exaggerating, if you want BP you need at least 1 slowdown to have a fair chance with certain killers, not all but with certain."-This isn't true at all and is a great example of what I mean when I say you guys exaggerate, lol. You can get BP with any killer in the game... What I said is absolutely a fact. No one is forcing you to run slowdown perks and you can still win without them in a lot of games.
You literally said it in a boon thread, they asked for a nerf and you said if they nerf ruin and undying.

Pressured is definitely more accurate. I wish I could take BT off, but sadly the state of the game basically demands I run it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2580424#Comment_2580424
The problem is how do you balance around this? If you slowed gens Blight, Nurse, and Spirit would be nearly guaranteed wins.
I agree, there is no way to balance this, if you make gens take longer then stronger killer will have an advantage, I guess the only thing that I can think is making normal regression be slightly stronger as of now there is absolutely no point in kicking a gen.
-
Yeah it has been kinda weird these days.
Sometimes you are playing normally and then the next match is 200 ping, you check the survivor's profile and they are from EU.
-

No one. I rarely use any gen perks on my killers. People just love to exaggerate things on here. Nothing new.
Oh it is you, the guy that wants ruin undying nerfed even though it is not the best combo, the one that defends survivor side even though they are slightly stronger right now.
The OP isn't exaggerating, if you want BP you need at least 1 slowdown to have a fair chance with certain killers, not all but with certain.
Show us how you play killer, you should stream dbd if you are that good at the point of rarely using slowdown perks, at this point I guess you are better than fog whispers and stuff the ones that get paid to play this game.
-
Usually when you make a map in game and don't want to delete a thing you just put it outside the map because it is easier.
So I guess they just put that outside of the map because it was easier to move it around.
-
I'm actually scared when it comes to animation bugs, like I bet the lack of scratchmarks we had a while ago was because they were implementing boon totems, now with the animation bug/change I'm feeling that they are changing something else like maybe vault speed or new perks like bamboozle.

I don't think multiple survivors with Circle of healing is correct way. It's different for shadowstep tho.
I would use only 1 per team, because every other survivor gets free perks (self-care + we'll make it) because of it and you just don't need more of them.
Yeah, shadowstep is probably why I dislike these perks, no scratchmarks, lack of footstep audio because bhvr, IW, certain grass and stuff makes it really hard to track by blood.
I'm ok-ish with CoH, because people bring busted medkits daily so it isn't THAT much.
I think the correct way for CoH is 2, but may change depending on the map, just what I think.

Eh, that's going to dramatically go down after the novelty wears off, but yes, a four-man running all of them with decent coordination is going to be tough. The thing is, though.... a four-man with strong perks and decent coordination are already incredibly tough to go against, that has nothing to do with boon totems.
The mechanic could do with some tweaking, but anyone pretending that they're a massive problem or that they're breaking the game and need to be nerfed right now immediately is just... being silly. That's the only word for it.
If they get tweaked sure it might be healthy, but maybe they could stay kinda as is and remove map offerings, it is horrible to play in indoor maps with these perks.
The thing is what can they do? Knowing bhvr either as is and nothing or trash perk.
And yes going into a 4 man is tough but these perks make it tougher way tougher than it should especially in certain maps.

Let me destroy that totem and I am happy.
Otherwise, they are not OK.
You can play around them -> yeah, but only with specific killer and perks, but you don't know you are going to face them, do you?
Undying was possible to play around too and it didn't save it...
This is what I was trying to say as well, boon totems also remind me a lot of old undying, but got nerfed.
@jesterkind said:

I never said they weren't strong, and nor would I. They are strong- I'd go so far as to say very strong in some circumstances- but what they're not is broken.
You can play around boon totems. They're not overwhelming and you're not powerless against them. I then went on to outline how and why they can be played around.
Regarding your last line, I agree. They're the exact same level of healthy and reasonable as NOED is.
The thing that bothers me the most is that, yesterday and today, it was usually 4 man after 4 man using boons (Idc about swf usually) but coordination + map offerings is why these perks should be changed in a more healthy manner.
It is a nightmare to play against these perks in indoor maps, on normal maps it can be annoying but just like you said not OP just strong.

Slight benefit to the killer like pulling them away from the objective and slowing them down.
If you're just responding to me to complain about totems in general, I'm afraid I'm not going to respond since it's clogging the thread and obscuring helpful information.
How is obscuring information if you are telling them that they are not strong basically? The fact that 14 seconds for 1 survivor is not the same as 14 seconds for the killer says a lot.
30 seconds for free green medkits? How is that not strong? The fact that boons are strong and gives killers a 3rd thing to do is just insane, boons make any m1 killer have more issues, especially if you have a duo or a dedicated build as survivor.
Boons as they are right now are probably the same as unhealthy as noed.
Let me add something, you said that sloppy will slow them down, but only 3.2 more seconds, which if they by chance have either botany or desperate will make sloppy completely useless and only make them bleed more
-
@jesterkind said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2575125#Comment_2575125
Obviously not every killer can make equal use of Sloppy, I didn't think I had to clarify that I'm not suggesting it be used on killers that don't use it.
Yes, a slight benefit. It's dragging survivors away from the objective, that is a slight benefit. Do you have anything useful to say here?
Slight benefit to the killer, like making it really hard to track and give them green medkits, great benefits for the killer, very nice.
And don't even say "bUt KiLlErS cAn bREaK thEm", I will continue to say, 1 second for the killer is 4 for the survivors, if killers have to go out of their way to break them then the perk is obviously strong.
-
@jesterkind said:
First of all, everyone should stop whining and dramatising about this, they're not absurdly broken and it's absolutely possible to play around them. I've had a few games with them so far, and here's what I've gathered over that (admittedly very small) sample size of experience:
- Thrill Of The Hunt still absolutely works. It's not a tracking tool anymore, but it doesn't lose tokens when a totem is blessed, so unless they bless over it directly (which wastes even more of their time) it slows down their blessing actions by a lot, giving you time to interrupt or just otherwise ensuring they're off generators for longer.
- Oftentimes a survivor will run you towards their totem in a chase, and you can snuff it after you down them. Neither boon perks are at their strongest when a survivor is actively in a chase - no scratch marks is strong, but not overwhelmingly so - and so that's usually your best bet. Like reloading for Huntress/Slinger/Trickster/Clown, or breaking pallets for most killers, snuff the boon during your downtime after downing someone or after hooking them.
- Haunted Grounds still works, as previously mentioned, and instadowns in general are strong against CoH since it doesn't much matter if you're full health when you're Exposed. Similarly, addons that inflict Broken are going to be quite popular for a while, I'd wager.
- Doesn't hurt to slap Sloppy Butcher on your build, to give more blood for tracking and to slow down their healing by a marginal amount.
- BBQ is basically useless against a full boon squad (save for that extra BP, which is admittedly always nice), so I'd swap out for other tracking that doesn't rely on auras. Also, endgame builds are gonna be more useful now to give you a bit more of an edge if generators fly while boons buy them some time. I've had some use from No Way Out specifically!
This is absolutely a mechanic that can be played around with smart decisions and an adjustment of playstyle, and conveys slight benefits to the killer alongside the significant benefits to the survivor. This isn't hopeless!
Let me run sloppy on billy or sloppy on blight, sure.
Slight benefits to the killer, sure, my grandma never had relationships with my grandpa as well.
I guess let me censor that word myself since that is for some reason not censored
-
Broken status addons, forced penance, legion, 1 shot killers, plague and my current counter to boons which is taking a break from the game.
Other than those, I have no idea.

I just wait until they are nerfed. Maybe never but playnig killer now is absolutly no fun
Playing killer wasn't fun since the sbmm got activated, same copy paste builds, now boons make it even worse and more unfun for the killer, m1 killers are going to have it worse I bet.
I 100% agree with you.
-
@WolfyLegend123 said:
Nah, they are easy to find and easy to destroy, think of em like hexes for survivors, but I would like it's range to be shorter, and a few other things to buff killers, most of my games against boons where fine, you should prioritize breaking boons asap, the game doesn't need for boons to be removed, simply, buff killers to some extent.
P.S You guys had, over 2 weeks, of PTB, you should've been making these then, not now when the update is live, sure it might get nerfed but you should've stated so when it was still in ptb.
We did complain about boons in the PTB feedback, they only reduced 4 meters and not stackable.
Also yes they are easy to find but time isn't on the killer's hands, it is on the survivor's.

Thats the problem
I think i will stop playing the game now
Yeah same, I stopped playing for 2 weeks after how horrible the PTB was, this proves once again that bhvr does not care for feedback, boons were even stronger in the PTB now they are "nerfed" barely touched.
I'm going back to my dbd break until they fix these perks since my matches yesterday and today have been horrible against those perks.

Noed is quite reliable against solo q yes.
1 perk reliable according to you that you as a survivor don't even need break until the endgame, you don't even need to break all 5 totems you can just memorize where they are in that match.
1 second as killer = 4 seconds as survivor.

If they nerf all the hex totems into the ground as well, sure

Meanwhile boons are really reliable and can be blessed as many times as you want.
Also nice whataboutism

Those perks when combined are MUCH stronger than boons.
Not at all, no scratchmarks plus healing in 16 seconds is stronger than gen regression, especially when survivors can just straight up spawn in the hex.
-
Inb4 some survivor mains tell you, just break bones.
Those perks are absolutely bs and hopefully they get nerfed to the ground.
-
Weird, usually the survivors quality increases at night for me.
In the afternoon is balanced usually, 2 bad 2 good players.
During the night after 12 a.m most survivors are pretty good.

Is there a chance it depends on the server you're on?
I'm on the UK servers and although I've definitely faced a lot more cheaters than usual lately, I don't get them as much as other people say they have.
Oh yeah that could be it as well, I'm on US east, our area is currently infested with script kiddies.
-
@MrBuffalo said:
You're asking a lot from incompetent/lazy devs.
Asking for the bare minimum is too much.
Fair enough since warning people here about certain common script kiddies is too much and mods will erase that part.
@Exxodus21 said:
They CAN. But they probably won't.
Yeah I forgot that they won't do anything to help the normal players, I guess it is the perfect time to hack legacy or something since they don't care at all.
-
Since the sbmm got activated, I've played against 11.
All of them have been reported with clips attached to them, they are still unbanned as I saw them recently.
Maybe I've played against subtle cheaters since I've seen some things that do not make sense and sometimes you can feel like they have hope (the perk) activated midmatch, and that is according to my math since normally it takes 27 seconds to get the first hit when they hold W from 1 side to the other.
Wish I could tell people here their names so they can just dodge lobbies but it is against the rules in here, so basically they are protecting script kiddies here.
I also made another thread like a week ago in case you wanna waste the script kiddy some time.
The longest the match can last is 2 hours, some will take the game hostage if you have something to do like get some groceries and stuff, just leave your game running stay in the middle of the map and wait for them to either dc or waste their 2 hours.
I asked a script kiddy once if they get banned, they said that they do not get banned since the reporting system does NOTHING so yeah, and yes I trust them more than bhvr at this point since they have more reasons to tell us the truth unlike bhvr.
-
@Darca1213 said:
Need a video clip or explain more for this to be a real think. 1k hours and only seen 3 cheaters ever
So I'm guessing you have low mmr if you have only seen 3 cheaters right now.
I have 2 clips right now, but it is not like bhvr will do something.
-
Gen rushing isn't a thing, neither is camping and tunneling, also slugging isn't a thing.
-
Outskilled, outplayed, clearly they are the better players, you did half of the match but died so you are a bad player.
Hopefully I don't need to put the sarcasm at the end.
-
Scratchies have been inconsistent for like 6 months maybe more, so yes they have been pretty bad for a while.

Apples to oranges.
Lethal pursuer is a detection and tracking perk, Corrupt is a gen slowdown perk.
This is like comparing medkits vs flashlights when it comes to opening the exit gate.
Lethal makes it so you get into a chase faster meaning you create pressure or slowdown however you want to call it.
Corrupt gives you time so you don't get those far gens done and you can find a chase faster.
This is a fair comparison

Hmmmm.
Well we know all new accounts start at the same MMR.
Yes, but that is what is killing the intentions of new and casual players.
New players shouldn't play against competent players, and before you say, "but new players will lose" yup I tested that as well, I lost 4 matches on purpose right after I won my first one in that account.
Had a probably hacked account player because legacy with private profile, no hacks just that.
Then I had players with 2k hours and some 1.5k.
That is not really fair for new/casual players.
And I know I shouldn't complain because technically I was smurfing and now I don't mind since I played billy, I don't need perks other than enduring on him, but imagine how new players feel when they get players like that.

Was this on a fresh account or just a new Killer
Fresh account.
Well family share account, I made a new steam account and just family shared dbd.
-
Depends on the killer.
Nurse? Lethal.
Billy, Lethal.
Blight, either.
But I personally believe that corrupt is 100% better.
-
@Pulsar said:
.....the game is balanced for casuals.
I disagree with a smurf test I did, from player lvl1-10 I had nothing but sweats.
You can say that I did not do bad because I didn't but the fact that a new player can and will play against 3k+ hour players is not acceptable for casual players.
The current system should be horrible for newer or casual players since they do not have all perks unlocked.
If you lose 2 matches as survivor from the starting point you get paired up with, not to be rude but you get paired with bots so people will never get better like that.
-
I would change BHVR, instead of dbd, they need to understand the playerbase which they don't in any way possible.
-
Mmr- people thinking they are going to get sponsored for sweating in matches.
Maps- most maps are bs for the killer side, that is why survivors use map offerings every single match.
Lastly, bhvr not listening to feedback, most people were saying how bad MMR is, they didn't listen now we have this ######### system, apex with mmr is honestly harsh af, cod mmr is basically meta stuff daily, those are examples, dbd they will bring strong stuff EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH. it is getting extremely bored.
-
Killer main for 3 years, I no longer play killer these days.
Now I prefer the fun role which is survivor.
Thank you MMR, I still hate this system.
-
Not a bad video for new players.
Funny how they basically said to hit and run style as killer.
I was hoping for facecamp like Almo but nope, it is a legit video.

Today I encountered my first hacker and he almost ruined my graphics card while teabagging me, he head oned me while not being in a locker, when i downed him he insta healed and other things. Basically they had power over the entire game + he had all the perks at the same time. When I wanted to report him the entire in-game report page was blocked with a wall of "n-words are f-words". I asked him why he does this thing. They replied with: "because devs don't ban hackers", and then he changed my first message with a wall of n-words.
I'm really scared because I did some research and I found a site where you can buy hacks for 20 dollars that have the exact pack that my hacker had. They can basically change every single aspect of the game: can turn your perks off, can get everyone's IP, can froze/brick someone's device with flashlights.
I don't hate devs. I don't know if they want the best out of this community but I spent 2k+ hours in this game and I love it. I don't want my PC bricked by someone that is trolling and doesn't have repercussions...
Not even 20 dollars, they can buy scripts for 5 bucks
-
If I had 5 perks I would use corrupt on everyone even the ones that I use the most.
