If you are the guy that opens the hatch at 1 gen 3 survivors left mid chase right in front of the killer and screw both of you teammates. Politely ######### off.
This happened to me last night, I was playing trapper on badham, a meg who didn't do anything rescued the survivor in front of the hatch, she left as I was walking to close the hatch, the survivor was quentin, we both stared at each other, I felt horrible because that has happened to me and let him go.

As someone who went through the insta heal nerf, ds nerf, MoM nerf, nah we are good, tell killers if killers are getting nerfed, so they can use them to their heart content.
An Eye for an Eye.

I understand the concern killers have with them but it just seems like it's just pure negatively.
I'm happy that there is a new mechanic that will lead to more strategic thinking. Again I understand killers concern of another objective, but totems in general are a optional objective if you don't really need to take out hexs to win then killers shouldn't really need to worry about boon totems. I honestly think we should wait untill there is more information but I'm still excited for it.
I mean from the thread you are making it sound like a battle vs time (what killer has) is a very easy task, so if you are giving the killer extra stuff to do then gens should probably be 1.5 twice as long.
Breaking doors, breaking pallets, patrolling gens, some killers need to set up and some start weak, some killers have tracking issues, most killers are m1 killers, chasing against hold W players also time consuming.
The problem is that if boon totems are as strong as hexes then the killer side is doomed, it is unfun as it is now imagine if boons are as strong or give a strong buff? It will be the worst patch for killers.
We know nothing yet so the concern is still there and won't stop until at least we know stuff about boon totems.
-
@VonCrow said:
Gens going this fast basically means short games, which means basically negative stuff for everyone:
- Less fun and BP for everyone.
- Survivor gameplay being just M1.
- Killers forced to run 4 antigen perk - no space for fun builds or perks.
- Killers forced to camp and tunnel to secure at least one kill - bad experience for everyone.
- More bubbas, more Noed.
I wish both sides could see this as something bad for all of us. We should be in the same boat: we want this game to be fun.
The problem isn't gen speed, 80 seconds is a lot the problem is maps and how separate survivors spawn.
If you do not believe me, try lethal persuer, you will usually see this, 1 survivor in 1 gen, 2 together and the other 1 is closer to you.
And yeah, we want the game to be fun, which from these past updates hasn't been.
Early game start never came into the game, it's been what? 1.5 years?
-
Yup, I'm actually kinda scared of boon totems since we do not know anything yet, but if they are hexes for survivors that makes them stronger, yup bye bye playing killer until properly balanced, I'm down to play survivor only.

This definitely isn't normal FOV, look how high you can see over all these objects.
They do it because it looks better!1!!11!1 not because they get unfair advantages.

I've 4k with clown with only forced penance, so does that mean that clown is OP and needs a nerf? Or that the players played bad?

Seems like there are plenty of people queuing as killer given they have longer queue times.
- There are more killers at a high mmr rating than survivors.
- There are more killers queueing to play than survivors.
My queues are horrible, about 10 minutes per match, then 6-7 min that it lasts because haddonfence/badham + bnp and gen perks + hold W meanwhile I don't use that many slowdown perks only 1 or none.

I'll mourn with you, I main oni, as much bs as topknot currently is, I loved using it.

Balance maps aka all badhams, haddonfield, gidgeon.
Do something about hold W players, I mean the ones that as soon as they hear the TR are already leaving from point A to point Z if not, then speed boost to the killer when they are not in an active chase something like that.
And lastly, give an incentive to playing as killer especially when all of the odds are against us and by that I mean it, at least a BP boost or breaking the cap per match (this goes for both sides not just killer)
-
Mmm.
Survivors: bnp, blood ember, speed healing addons for medkits those make medkits insane especially if it's a green one or purple.
Killer: all seeing purple, mdr, alchemist ring, top knot, rusty shackles, I would say tombstone but it is needed for achievements/trophies.
But with the current meta, let's not give killers nerfs
-
Santa is real as well, the silent hill movies were better than the games also when an eye lash somehow gets into your eye it feels amazingly good.
-
Auto heaven is bad but gidgeon is good for killer?
-
When I started dbd was the longest I took a break from this game, it was for about 4 months because I was getting destroyed back in like mid 2018.
But currently I'm also taking a break because I dislike playing killer now which is my main role.

Psst I have played over 4k hours - with about 60% of that as killer. Please check my post history - I am a 50/50 killer who sides with killers and survivors on various issues. trying to paint me as a survivor main - shows your bias - not mine :)
Not to be on anyone's side but those maths aren't wrong, what the OP is basically saying is that hold W requires no skill for the value that it gives

I’ve reported people and seen friends/family report people, and they were still playing months later. There’s also nothing to stop someone from just making a new account. BVHR still has no effective way to address the hoard of cheaters.
No family share could work and might make them at least waste more money.

FYI If a streamer is cheating - if you report that to Twitch they will lose their account. Hacking/Cheating is against the ToS of Twitch and the other streaming platforms. Not sure why if you see a streamer cheating you wouldn't report them to their respective platform as well as BHVR.
If you want the problem to stop - you have to do more than post about it on a forum - you have to actually report people.
If they erase VODS nothing happens, that is how people also evade the copyright, but yeah I mean hackers are still there after I report them.
But yes, I have also reported them though the actual support.

support will reply to you after they banned the cheater(usually saying "we will begin investigating for you and will take action if it's required")
also checking the cheater's profile
I don't remember ever getting one of those emails but I still see that the hacker still streams with the same account.

@Mr_K is correct with the way the MMR/SBMM is working. If you've got a high MMR with a killer, there's no way you're going to be put with people at a super low MMR that would be unfair as you still have a baseline knowledge of the game mechanics, tiles etc. So it would be incredibly unfair to put you against new players, even if it's with a killer you've never played.
If you're playing with a killer that is new to you then your MMR won't drop too much if you're already experienced with other killers - it'll be less, but it won't be low. It will take some time then before the MMR on that killer balances out.
As for the other things mentioned in this thread about "lies", sometimes things have been mentioned that we're working on or even just in the planning phase - these get jumped on and people expect them to be implemented instantly. There's no lies - we're working on things, it's just somethings don't happen as quickly as we all like, other things come up, some things are put to the wayside or in a backlog whilst something more necessary is dealt with. Or for whatever reason, something just can't be done. It's not about lying.
Mandy, I like you as a person but as someone who had to change platforms because of how terrible it was for console players, have you guys been actually working on console optimization for the past 3 years? You guys said early in 2019 that console was going to be optimized 60 fps and whatever it was.
It is 2021 and that patch never made it, and in fact it is worse FPS wise, telling people to buy SSDs to help their past gen console isn't optimizing.

and they still do ban cheaters, every cheater i've reported got banned
How do you know they are banned? I still see the same cheaters that I've reported and some of them stream on twitch, still nothing.
I've seen the same hacker for about 7-8 months and nothing has happened.

Today I purchased Deathslinger for the first time and tried to play for the first time. I pumped the killer to level 11 and decided to take only three of his main perks. The game ended for a very long time and the players mocked me all the time, because I could not stop repairing the generators in any way and I could not catch anyone. And two of the players were SWF.
I miraculously managed to catch one of the survivors and installed facecamp, because the generators were already started. And after all this, I still get messages that I am a camper, but how else could I kill at least one?
I thought with the new system I would play against players of my level, but I get thrown against very strong survivors.
ETA on the fix might be 1-6 business years.
Your MMR starts half way, you will lower it if you lose just VERY slowly.
So basically, play the game and lose, because we all love to play games and always lose, that is why we all spend time on videogames, to lose never to win.

For fun. And individual killer mmr is not a lie.
It kinda is, I never played plague and I still get the same players.
Also dataminers who have gotten banned for leaking that information confirmed that there is not such thing as individual killer MMR, if you are a godly nurse that will increase the other killers MMR, slower but it will increase it.
So basically I main Oni but suck at plague I will still get really decent survivors vs my plague because MMR is not working as intended.

I think adding it for brutal strength would be better, I mean brutal is just a perk that feels pretty damn good, might as well make it more interesting.

Yeah but the game map has been gone for like a month.
That is kinda unrelated, RPD was almost out of the rotation for also a month and the reason was kinda different but still.
Not being able to break a pallet can be the factor between losing a match or winning especially in that map, if you have to go around to break it then you are giving the survivors an easy way to escape the chase or giving them enough time to go to another loop, this is very unbalanced.

I'm fairly confident that I am retiring from playing Killer. I'm upset and worked up, so don't expect logical ingenuity.
I've tried to give MMR a fair shot, but most if not all of my matches have been miserable.
I've played around 50 Pinhead games, 10 Freddy games, 30 Nemesis games, 2 Blight games and maybe 25 of a variety of other Killers. I have routinely received the exact same Survivors, regardless of the Killer I play.
I have NEVER played Freddy on my account. I did not even own him. My first match with no perks and no add-ons and I get put up against a 4-stack I had just played as Nemesis. There is no individual Killer MMR, or if there is, it means nothing. I'm calling BHVR out on that.
The final straw was today. I've been trying to play Blight for days, but queue's are so long that I can't seem to manage it. I finally got into a match. I took one chase and 3 gens popped. Took another chase and two more popped.
Two hooks. 5 gens. Everyone gets out. Incredibly fun and engaging gameplay. Especially when I SAT IN A QUEUE FOR 45 MINUTES.

I welcome you into the "retired killer main turns into survivor main" group
@RenRen said:
Wait didn't they say there was individual mmr? Is it bugged or something?

They will never back down on stuff like that, so yes, killer side you do have to be decent in order to have a small amount of fun especially since the mmr is not completely separate.
-
Stbfl double engravings meta /s
It is so fun to have 2 cooldowns in 1 killer!!.
Honestly if people had issues before with basekit billy they were the problem.
"Overheat barely does anything!" Sure buddy, only limits skill cap and interesting stuff you can try, it is so fun messing 1 chainsaw because survivors teleport from 1 side to the other and almost get overheated.
Engravings need a massive buff to compensate for the crap overheat mechanic.

Because I cant be bothered to play anything other than survivor.
The highest I ever achieved was rank 6 on the old system with trapper. Been playing since the patch for my sbmm to settle but it isnt...
Now I wait 15+ minutes to be paired with teams that stomp me. My sbmm has not gone down as it should since this patch...I see the same survivor players matched against me(started paying attention to the names). Fun spending time supporting your busted system (money and my free time🤬).
I am flattered you think that a regular green rank killer deserves getting this treatment for achieving purple rank once.
I have tried games in the morning before work and in the evenings same story does not matter what killer I used...some I have touched maybe 4 to 5 times.
Killer mains thank you for the ones who are still playing with this crap...survivors hello I guess I have been converted.
How have your games been since the new patch?🤬
Tip if you are playing in central NA, don't play in the morning, not worth it.
I also gave up on killer, games were fine when sbmm came out, as of now? Hell no.
Killer currently is the most boring it has ever been in my 3 years of playing this game.
-
Yes, don't heal when there are 2-1 gens, I love to not have my power to instantly have it and 4 man slug because of greedy people.
-Signed by a Oni main
-
Nope, I stopped playing killer because of how boring it is, matches last about 6 min.
Most builds are a copy paste.
Survivor has been annoying rather than harder, every single match you see the same kind of playstyle, down after 1 gen popped = facecamp until struggle.
I refuse to use stronger perks like exhaustion perks and ruin undying for killer.

Just for the record, you are aware you're trusting the word of someone whom you know is a dirty cheater, right? It's like asking a liar for the truth and believing him.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2507450#Comment_2507450
It was a sad display, I had it recorded but lmao forum be protecting cheaters.
The recording can be shown if you don't show the names, though. Besides, the recording is supposed to go to the devs, to complement an in-game report. We regular users can't do #########.
The forum has a no name-and-shame policy because I can easily make a video showing "you" (i.e.: someone with your name) saying something racist in the chat or whatever, post it here, and start a witch hunt.
I mean we do not have evidence on anything, I see the same hacker a few times a week, so it's either bhvr sucks at banning people or they don't care.
At this point I'd rather believe what a hacker said than bhvr since they don't tell us anything at all.

Yeah hopefully bhvr fixes something in that regard, since the sbmm got activated I've played against 7 hackers, and not those subtle hackers I mean those "I hook myself, I have urban evasion tier 70, I have 50 perks, I run faster than billy with engravings" hackers, also 5 min stun, perma blind etc.

I obviously can't get confirmation on this but I'm like 60/70% sure family share accs get auto banned if they are sharing a game when the owner is game banned
Or at the very least BHVR/Steam has the tools to do that if it's the case.
I asked a hacker that basically gave me a confirmation on that, first if you family share you lose the secondary account for 7 days, your main account nothing happens on the first violation.
Then you can come back and get banned again for hacking then you lose family share, then you can do the same in the main account.
Also there are people selling steam accounts for 5 dollars with dbd on it.
So 5 bucks + hacks that you may have then rinse and repeat until the end of times.
Easy anti cheat is from what I read, one of the worst anti cheats in the whole anti cheat industry.
Some say that it is very easy to also evade VAC bans so I wouldn't be surprised.
-
Not that it matters because hackers only get banned for like 3 days at most, plus they can always buy the game for like 5 bucks and continue hacking, plus family sharing.
So it doesn't really matter for them.

maybe, JUST maybe, whispers isn't THAT good of a perk and you just like it. No one said whispers is a bad perk, its simply no where near as good as you make it seem. Maybe stop being an insufferable arrogantosaurus.
edit: also holy lol thinking whispers is needed on nurse at all.

It's overrated.
It's not bad by any means but people who say they can automathically find survivors thanks to triangulation are forgetting there are 4 survivors in a trial. It can really mess up the process.
People who praise whispers as the best tracking perk are having a serious case of cognitive bias. Remembering all the times they were able to find the lone survivor in a corner and forgetting all the times whispers misled them.
Especially the fact that it just doesn't work after a hook means it's not that amazing. That's when you need that information the most to be able to use the pressure your hook creates.
Still a pretty decent perk but nowhere near the best tracking perk
Sure it is overrated, but it has a reason, triangulating with noisy killers helps a LOT example with Billy or Nurse.
My issue with it and the only negative I have is maps with 2 floors or more, that is when I would say whispers is kinda useless.
Usually people that say that whispers is a bad perk are the ones that don't know how to use it.
Also it has amazing synergy with a lot of killers and I can explain a bit.
Trapper, you can be extra careful if whispers is on.
Billy, chainsaw noise.
Nurse, blink noise.
Spirit, you can actually get some grabs.
Stuff like that.
-
My killrate dropped which is fine, and survivors play very optimally in my experience.
But honestly, the game became more boring for the killer side, now you do actually need to use certain slowdown perks if you want to have a fair match.
Oh also since the sbmm got enabled, I've been playing against more hackers, 3 years I saw 1 hacker, when sbmm got turned on, I've played against 6 hackers.
In total I have about 3.1k hours (2 platforms 1900 on ps4 and almost 1200 on steam), most players I play against have about 5k+ and a few days ago I played against someone with 11k.
My only problem is that playing very efficient is what makes the game not really fun for me, because technically if I want to play efficient, I have to sometimes force 2nd stage on hook, defend a 3 gen and tunnel/slug, not fun at all.
My survivor experience has been ok-ish, most of the time I have to be THAT player that has to do all gens, all rescues, loop because my teammates are allergic to gens.
