Perk affects new survivors who cant hit skillchecks, and this make those survs more frustrated and leave the game = great perk design!

They aren't frustrated because this perk is impossibly terrible and no one uses it.

  • The Lord is only a vampire in name. He doesn't even really drink blood.

  • Too much self healing and bad powercreep in general.

  • Bloodpoints don't mean anything anymore. They aren't valuable. Why would you want more of something to toss in the dumpster?

Okay, I think I veered too far from where I wanted in this discussion, while yes Nowhere to Hide can be countered… if or by the time most Survivors figure it out is probably around the second time the Survivor is found. Friends Til the End lets you know so yes you can counter it in a way. I wasn't trying to go in depth about the Perks of today because there are plenty that do strange actions and the Killer gets rewarded with Aura Reading. There is no Counter to Lethal Pursuer as you’ve said even though even with Distortion you still run the chance of being caught, lol. The statement of all the perks I mentioned before were in some way shape or form a way to help track, see, or to know where Survivors are or would be. Doesn’t matter if they we good or bad at the time they were still there, they could be used and they could be countered. Yes if a Killer downed a No Mither player and didn’t pick them up within 32 seconds then yes the Survivor would run away… which still has counter from the Killers. Knock Out while is annoying you are correct, it’s not used enough to be a problem so no one really complains about it… but plenty of Killers run Aura Readings, not all but plenty. But to have an argument about Distortion users because it takes away from their many perks abilities. Why do Survivors have to “Get good” while Killers can open a locker, kick a gen, break a pallet or breakable wall, Survivors get an unhook, etc… the list goes on.

The discussion about Distortion hiding your Aura from the perks I mentioned before is so small it didn’t boost its usage, now BHVR at one point added a Token to Distortion because of all the massive and easy amounts of Aura Reading Killers was getting. Then they gave back 3 Tokens but at a recharge rate of 30 seconds while in Killers Terror Radius why… because of the huge list of perks that could show Aura Readings. Then they nerf the perk while also making two strong Aura Reading Perks in the same patch??? What???

Now Survivors have 3 Perks outside of Distortion that can hide their Aura, but they are not as good as Distortion as they require a prerequisite.

    Sole Survivor

    Boon: Shadow Step

    Off the Record

These 3 perks and Distortion are the only 4 Survivor Perks that Hide Aura, but sadly they are also the only ones that have counter play; Distortion’s counter play is just using your Aura Reading Perks until the Survivor’s Tokens run out (which is bad counter play but the tokens aren’t unlimited.)

But Killers have Aura Reading for just about anything, they have 29 Perks that provide Aura Reading… and that’s not including the Killer Add-ons.

Simply load into a match, Aura seen (Lethal Pursuer).

Killer carrying a Survivor in the Dying State, Aura seen (Awakened Awareness and Scourge Hook: Hangman’s Trick).

Killer hooks a Survivor, Aura seen (BBQ & Chill, Alien Instinct, Friends ‘til the End, and Grimm Embrace).

Survivor unhooks Survivors, Aura Seen (Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage).

Killer kicks a Generator, Aura seen (Nowhere to Hide).

Survivors Healing themselves or other Survivors, Aura seen (A Nurse’s Calling).

Survivors complete a Generator (Bitter Murmur and Rancor).

Survivors being in the Exit Gate, Aura seen (Blood Warden).

Killer Searching a Locker, Aura seen (Darkness Revealed).

Survivor in the Dying State, Aura seen (Deerstalker).

Survivor enters Dying State while other Survivors working on Generators, Aura Seen (Eruption).

Survivors are working on Generators and hitting good Skill Checks, Aura seen (Gearhead).

Survivors being near a Dull Totem, Aura seen (Hex: Undying).

Survivor Blessing or Cleansing a Dull or Hex Totem, Aura seen (Hex: Retribution).

Killer simply Injuring a Survivor, Aura seen after 25 seconds (Hex: Face the Darkness).

Survivors near unopened Chest, Aura see (Human Greed).

Survivors near dropped items, Aura seen (Weave of Attunement).

Survivor enters the Basement, Aura see (Territorial Imperative).

Survivor Stuns or Blinds the Killer, Aura seen (Nemesis).

Survivor tries to blind the Killer, Aura seen (Lightborn).

Survivor Fast Vaults a Window or Pallet, Aura seen (I’m All Ears).

Survivor drops a Pallet, Aura seen (Zanshin Tactics).

Survivor escapes chase, Aura seen (Predator).

Killer Snuffing Boon Totems, Aura seen (Shattered Hope).

To nerf one perk while all these others exist in the game is silly and completely one sided as the Killer can bring up to 6 different effects that provide Aura Reading completely counter Distortion in the 1st 36 seconds of the match. And while yes Survivors do have Perks, Items and Add-ons that allow them to see the Killer, it’s nowhere near as impactful and mostly tends to them doing nothing to help the match.

Ah yes, hangman's trick. Noted oppressive perk. I know that when I combine that with territorial imperative it's just free wins. Survivors are helpless before my ability to see them go into the basement on a cooldown and if they happen to be near a scourge hook boy howdy are they in trouble.

Jokes aside your post does the opposite of what you're trying to illustrate. All it shows is that killers only have a handful of actual decent aura reading perks and having a single perk that requires no input from anyone counter all of them, indefinitely is problematic. You could list notable oppressive and commonly seen perks like shattered hope and awakened awareness all day long, but it doesn't mean anything because killers only have four perk slots.

  • Wolf form is antiloop. I hardly ever see them bother with anything but it.

  • @Hex_Ignored said:

I agree. Limiting it to 2 uses at max per game is quite extreme, especially considering how this is the most ping dependent perk in the game.

And yet it's still one of the most popular perks on the survivor side. Weird.

In any case no no no no. I spent years hugging the asses of every survivor trying to bait out E. I still do that, but only after they've been hooked. It was incredibly tedious.

  • Pointless. For killers props would only be given after letting survivors escape. For survivors it would just be for trading hooks at endgame.

It's still trash for the vast majority of people.

It's one thing to make a perk require contributing and helping teammates (doing gens, healing etc.) but being forced to spend time in chase automatically makes the perk worthless for most of the playerbase.

Sure good players can effortlessly do chases that last 1+ minutes perkless (at least against most of the Killer cast), however those people don't really need it in the first place and are usually using it almost more as info than actual stealth.

Newcomers/casual players now are forced to get chased if they don't want to be seen through walls, inevitably getting downed and hooked (and likely tunnelled) rather quickly and making the early experience worse since, let's face it, there's so much aura-reading that finding Survivors will never be an issue unless they creep around in lockers or are using certain perks, and that's what's going to happen: the rats that hid and didn't help while using Distortion will simply use lockers more and help even less.

Not everybody can loop good, and no perks should require getting chased for a while for the chance of getting value (as there's no guarantee that the Killer even brings an aura perk in the first place) but everyone can contribute to the team by doing gens. Making gens grant tokens would have fixed the issue of rats without killing the perk for those that used it but actually played the game. The result will merely be that rats are now in lockers more and that other people will replace Distortion by a gen-speed perk or an exhaustion perk (likely SB or Lithe) to replace the lack of stealth by easier chases or genrush potential.

This "too much aura reading" thing annoys me so much. You're only ever going to see BBQ, nowhere to hide and lethal. Nobody's running awakened awareness or shattered hope. It's like saying survivors have so many gen rush perks and they're so problematic and pointing at stake out and fast track like they're huge issues instead of niche, mediocre perks. Survivors have so many ways of losing the killer! It's unfair! While gesturing at parental guidance like anyone runs it.

Even bad survivors are gonna be able to get tokens back. If you hold w after getting hit that's half a token. If you have the brain to vault something at the end of that sprint you've probably gotten your token. Like what did these people do before tokens regenerated? Did they collapse and die when the killer saw their aura?

That change is just trashing the perk. Like always if they hcange any survivor perk its dead.

No, it was trashing it with one token. Now it has a pretty reasonable requirement that encourages people to engage with the killer.

Also you've gotta ditch the us vs them stuff or thinking the devs favor a particular side. It's emotional nonsense.

I don’t think the idea was to make it a fair change. They probably just wanted to get rid of it like they always do to perks, that are complained about.

It literally is a fair change though. It's an incredibly powerful perk that you actually have to do stuff to get now.

  • Why would you see the same Mori 4 times when it's only performed on you once?

  • You don't see how the effort of one is not commiserate with the effort of the other? Really?

It’s 5%, it saves 4 seconds, and you have to chase the survivor for 90 seconds without getting a hit, its not that crazy…

Saves 4s multiplied by 3 survivors as many times as you get chased per match. Not saying it's problematic but it's also not weak.

Cool story. Killer mains got our Distortion ruined. Tit for tat.

This weird tribalism is the biggest thing wrong with this game. "Their" side got something nerfed, so people want the other side to lose something as well. Not for balance reasons, but just to be vindictive.

The game is asymmetrical. It's not a seesaw. It's a big machine with a lot of moving parts and when one part gets tweaked or changed out it's often necessary to keep the machine running well. It's not favoritism, it's just maintenance. Take it for what it is, not what you want it to be.

  • If you've outplayed the survivor two or more times during chase and gotten a down, picking up and carrying a survivor to hook should be the least vulnerable part of the interaction. Resetting that whole operation should be risky and difficult.

  • Or like..... You're playing an A tier killer with a really good suite of add-ons?

  • I wish I could give you my cheevos. I've got this one and couldn't care less. It's baffling to me that anyone cares about achievements. They don't do anything.

Dying Light 2 has a backpack the character wears at all times because he has a paraglider. The design on the backpack changes depending on the outfit/glider. There's a real in-game reason for the backpack existing. But players requested the ability to remove it, so the devs made it something you could toggle on and off. Backpacks are on every outfit, so their existence didn't stop people from buying cosmetics, it was just something players wanted the option of disabling and so the devs gave it.

Meanwhile, DbD likes to randomly add backpacks/purses to cosmetics for no good reason, they usually detract from the outfit, there's no gameplay purpose to them, people have requested the ability to toggle them off for a very long time… and still, still this is not an option. The backpacks absolutely do stop people from buying cosmetics, BHVR loses money because this toggle isn't in the game.

There are also cosmetics I won't buy because of the glasses. Or some female heads I won't buy because of the makeup (love the hair, but no, absolutely no to the makeup).

It might not be a bad time to also mention linked sets. There are survivor heads and killer weapons that certainly don't need to be linked, but after all this time BHVR has still not altered their system to allow for linked sets to consist of only two pieces. Again, money lost.

You can't even see your dude in dying light

  • "fix" solo queue? Behavior interactive can't force people to play efficiently or how you want. They also don't make the anti cheat, it's licensed from epic.

  • The game is asymmetrical and killer perks should be stronger than survivor perks, because there are less of them. Straight 1:1 comparisons are always going to be nonsense.

  • This is classic us vs them, but you don't see killers clamoring for comeback mechanics when they've lost the game or basic stuff like this that gamesense already tells you about.

  • Bring back the old fog please

This game being classified as "horror" is like calling call of duty zombies "horror." It's only scary for the first 10 games, then it becomes a strategy game from there on out. There are other games created nowadays that are "rated appropriately" that also have accessibility options to tone down blood and gore. Besides, if it's a setting, what does it really matter? I personally wouldn't turn them off, but I have friends that would love to play more of this game if they didn't have to see Dracula slitting their throats for the 20th time in a day, or singularity melting their face off. Just because it's "rated appropriately" doesn't mean that everyone in the target audience is desensitized to blood and gore (and plague vomit).

You're playing against twenty Draculas with twenty Moris? That's some interesting matchmaking. If your friends are so put off by a ten second animation I can only assume they'll find something else to be put off in short order.

well, there is a difference between playing how you would like them to and playing in a manner that's detrimental to the objective and team - to put it nicely

I had a game this morning on eeryie. I loop for almost 3 gens before going down, nice, go team (seriously, go team). Somehow, it was still a 4k. After those 3 gens popped initially, not one of the 3 randoms touched a gen until I had the last gen 90d (meaning I did the 4th and most of the 5th gen alone), at which point 1 of the 2 remaining randoms hopped on with me, only to immediately hop off because killer was carrying the other guy to hook. We finish that gen if they stayed and can salvage at least a 2 out because the killer was not great imo. Like at one point I was looking for a gen to do and saw all 3 of them in chase, literally all 3 running together, not to bodyblock, just running as a pack, against BUBBA. He didn't snowball that which goes to show that he was not that great anyway and the game was winnable had my team's effort not fizzled out.

so yes, I agree you can't expect people to play how you want but surely it is not much to ask for them to not be completely inept.

To you they're inept. To them they're playing the best they can and making the best decisions they know how.

MMR in every game works the same. You'll always have weak links because the players with higher MMR are supposed to buoy them up and give them a fighting chance. If it were all players of the same skill people wouldn't climb because every low MMR player would drag each other down.

  • No to gen progression perks.

  • I had a game last night where the survivors finished 3 gens during the first chase, then another during the second(3 BNP, hyperfocus). Then spent the next twenty minutes pressuring the 3 gens they created and prerunning the second they heard my terror radius. Fortunately I was playing knight and could pressure multiple survivors simultaneously but I still maxed out one gen and got damn close on the other two.

It's obvious that these people were expecting the three gen system to just win the game for them. If I'd been playing a killer with less map pressure I would have lost not to the survivors, but to this system. It was very frustrating and tedious.

  • @frictionless said:

You can't "abuse" an accessibility feature that doesn't give you new information. All it does is exactly its job: makes it easier to read differences in terror radius stages for people that struggle to, cannot, or just prefer to have that information conveyed differently. If you think the only reason to add or maintain accessibility features is for people that "need" them by whatever your arbitrary personal definition of that is, then you don't seem to be in favor of accessibility features in general.

Visual skill check notifier is a fantastic idea and I'm in full agreement with OP on this one. As a suggestion for visual representation, maybe having some kind of "spark" effect in the survivor's head, similar to the current VTR, could work thematically.

VTR turns sadakos lullaby from an easily missed background noise that gives her a measure of stealth into a visual siren you cannot possibly miss.

Like there's a reason everyone uses it. It gives you a tiny hair of advantage. Finding that annoying doesn't mean somebody has a torch out for deaf people, it just means it's annoying.

  • People on your team are never gonna do the stuff you want them to. No amount of matchmaking can make others play the way you want them to.

To be fair, seeing exactly where the Survivor is when breaking chase (which can be accomplished by simply walking for a moment after breaking LOS, it's how good loopers can greatly delay blocking the window of shack against M1 Killers without Bamboozle by walking a moment to reset chase after turning the corner) is insanely valuable on certain Killers and can guarantee hits in certain situations if the Survivor doesn't leave the loop.

Nurse can get a guaranteed hit by knowing exactly where you are, Pyramid Head can do the same, Knight will know exactly where to put his guard to guarantee a Hunt. Any kind of range Killer can pre-emptively line up a shot since they know when the Survivor will cross the corner. Fast Killers know exactly if/when the Survivor ditches the loop and will know exactly where to dash to cut them off etc. The only Killers that don't really benefit that much are M1/low-mobility Killers (Pig, Ghosty, Nemesis to some extent, Trapper etc.) but it can still be useful for knowing when and where the Survivor is going after breaking LOS and waste less time.

It's not a meta perk by any means but it's not trash either and can be very strong with certain Killers. And while nuked Distortion can protect you from this, the Survivor will be left completely vulnerable to whatever other aura perk the Killer has, making it essentially worthless for hiding.

Tying gen progress to token recharge would remove Survivors ratting around and being useless (the only problematic part about it is player-dependent) while still making the perk accomplish it's purpose if the Survivor actually contributes and isn't just hiding all game.

If someone is shift teching then knowing where they are when it activates doesn't matter. They've already broken chase and reset the entity blocker and gotten what they wanted. And like, how often does that happen? It's exceedingly rare.

Nurse can't figure into any perk discussion. Sorry. She's not even playing the same game as everybody else. Don't care.

So pyramid Head is hitting someone, losing chase and LoS and then..... hitting them with his power? During a six second window? It'll take most of that duration to catch back up with them. Is that worth more than a game stall perk? Ha.

Knights one I actually play. Empty perk slot on him. You can't see auras while drawing a hunt line. So you'd hit them, lose chase, see their aura and then it'd vanish when you went to draw the path. You know what doesn't vanish and you'd end up using anyway? Blood pools. You use those to track survivors in power.

Who's a long range killer? Huntress? Trickster? Unknown? For any of that to be fruitful they'd need LoS and for the survivor to be in range during the aura read or directly after. That's an awful lot of stuff having to line up for a whole ass perk slot to maybe get value.

Like yeah does predator do what's on the tin? Sure. It'll definitely show you an aura when the thing happens. Is that useful? Can be. Is it useful enough to take over something that consistently does stuff? Haha. Of course not. I'd put money on the usage rate barely increasing.

  • @mysticalCat said:

I just say remove all aura perks/add ons. Every single one! There is no point- killers can see scratch marks, pools of blood and hear grunts of pain. Survivors can see the killer and when someone is in a chase and if that survivor gets downed the location of the killer that way. Auras are hand outs and ruining the game. I don’t even run the perk distortion that often but having 6 ways of seeing auras is kinda insane tbh (4perks and 2 add ons) I get there are perks survivors can run to disable scratch marks after getting injured and pools of blood, but still, get some skill instead of relying on aura perks. And guess what if survivors bring said perks you won’t have to worry about gen rushing perks

Ah, the natural conclusion of the aura bad sentiment. Makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

  • Dunno about the "woe is me" tone of the quoted post, but survivors do need better BP gain.

  • @ErebusSurge said:

I’m going to run predator if it’s a 6 second aura reveal aura reveal on escaping a chase

Why? Typically when a survivor has escaped chase it's because you hit them and they gained distance. You know where they're going. How is that worth a perk slot?

  • @ErebusSurge said:

distortion will be useless, I love that the devs have said “too easy to hide all game” with distortion yet they have changed predator to a 6 second aura reveal if you have the audacity to escape a chase and that ISNT deemed too easy for killers

Nobody is going to run predator. It's a C tier perk. How often do survivors break chase and you don't know where they are? It's that worth giving up surge, pain res, grim embrace, etc? Of course not. It's a nearly worthless bit of info.

  • Yeah, the killer should have been forced to pick you up so you bud can get his flashy save. And the endurance should be 60 seconds. And your move speed should be 150% for a minute or whatever.

  • @FallenAngel24 said:

I completely agree. Distortion should have been left alone. Even if a survivor is running Distortion, if a killer has 3+ aura reading perks plus an add on with aura reading (which has been happening A LOT recently), it's been difficult to gain our stacks back even while in chase. Especially if it's against a stealth killer. I main survivor and do use Distortion often. But when I do decide to play killer matches, and I am not good at killer, if I run even 1 aura reading perk it turns my game around and I get a 4k easily. With more experienced killers running multiple aura reading perks it's going to make games so much more unfair with no way to counter them

What killer is running this sort of overkill aura build except huntress? You're better served running game stall than aura on 90% of the cast. Especially if you're playing a standard terror radius killer, then you're never going to be able to use up all the distortion tokens.

I just don't understand why people have to make up these exaggerated scenarios to prove their point. When the witch hunt was "haste perks" and I'd have to ask: which haste perks? Then they just stutter and uhm and ah play with your food something something. Like that isn't one of the worst perks in the game. Good on precisely one killer with one specific build.

Now it's aura perks. Guess what? You're only ever going to see three aura perks in your games. NtH, lethal and BBQ unless you're playing vs a huntress or trickster. Then they might have darkness revealed. Maybe. There could be fifty aura perks in the game but most of them are at the level of awakened awareness, so who cares?

But i guess it is only gonna get worse. Don´t like this direction at all.

Like what aura stuff? Specifically? You can't just wave your hand at an entire suite of perks and say yeah these bad boys are problematic. It'd be like breathlessly posting THESE EXHAUSTION PERKS ARE OUT OF CONTROL after they added smash hit, of all things. Incredibly niche and innocuous perk.

  • A lot of the time starting close to the killer makes them find you last because they tend to search farther areas first. Starting spawns are fine.

But sure, do you idea. I wouldn't say no to finding the box easier.

  • Honestly just get rid of bloodpoints and BP offerings and let people run whatever they want at this point. They're absolutely inconsequential.

That's chill if you don't care but it's clear that "most" do care. I personally don't care for the 4k either but I find you and I are in the minority. I think it's disingenuous to say that most Killers don't care about the 4k. When 7/10 games it's clear the Killer wants it. Of course in lower mmr you'll have Killers just wanting to have fun.

Mind you I specifically said regardless of MMR. My comment and implementation of the screenshot was not to bring up mmr. I even clarified this and how I am talking about the win condition. How it's been set by the Devs very clearly. In DBD there are win conditions regardless if you care about mmr or not. If you want to play your way that's fine as well but it doesn't change the official win condition and I don't agree people should just play how they want as if it's the official standard because that is, if not, one of the leading contributors to toxicity in the community. As people can't decide one what is a win or not. Leading to frustrations on both sides.

As for "Killers are supposed to kill Survivors." I was literally going to add a bit about this but I thought nah it's too cliché for me to assume the other guy is going to actually say this, but you did lmao. Letters on a screen can come off not as intended. So please don't take this as an insult if you do. I just got a little giggle out of this but it's not laughing at you.

I didn't add this part but I was going to say in my comment… It's how Killers think, "Killers are supposed to kill Survivors"(literally word for word) and it's the Survivors job to hide, repair gens and attempt to escape (unhook etc). Although here you are saying Killers job is to kill. Is there any way for Survivors to prevent the Killer from participating in the match? What I mean, is there any method similar to how slugging prevents a Survivor from participating in the match. Can I as a Survivor prevent the Killer from participating in chases or interacting with the game. Do I prevent the Killer from hunting, picking up survivors, hitting gens? No…

Flashlights, sabo and protection hits are intended mechanics in the game and technically you could argue that slugging is a part of the game as well in some aspects. I would like to clarify I do think there is a time and place to slug and it's 100% justified. Although, doing gens, unhooking etc… doesn't prevent the Killer from participating in the match. Where as slugging nearly removes all ability to participate in the trial for a Survivor.

As for stats I don't know what stats you've seen as most stats should be taken with a grain of salt. I've seen statements by the Devs about the percentage and combined time on the ground. Although these are averages. As well this is a fallacy. Of course majority of the times a Killer will pick up a Survivor. When you have 4 Survivors in a trial. Majority of the those downs if not 99.99% of them are followed by a hook. So I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your stats do not reflect what we are talking about here.

The issue is not on the general consensus of slugging. It's regarding a situational event that takes place when there are specifically only two Survivors left. You are comparing apples to oranges. If the Devs restricted the stats to the percentage/time spent downed when two Survivors are left in a trial. You'll find that 43% and 24% becomes much much greater. I literally have zero doubts about this. It wouldn't even be gambling money at that point if it was a bet. You'd be guaranteed to win. Mate I live it nearly every time I am one of the last two left. It's just facts. I see it even when I spectate and I spectate 9/10 of my matches to the very end.

***If you do statistics you'll learn that you can not take such broad general data and say here is the answer when asking a very specific question that has parameters. If I asked how long do Survivors spend on the ground on average during a trial? That is a general enough question that the stats DBD provides is sufficient. If I asked how many chests are opened during the trial on average? Again a general question. Although if I ask, "How many chests are opened during the endgame collapse?" Well now that is a far more specific question that has specific parameters set in place. I have to eliminate the noise that is everything prior to the endgame collapse. I hope this helps you understand better why grabbing generic statistics is not an appropriate argument.

Alright. When there's two survivors in the game then one of them randomly escapes. They're just dropped outside the gate or whatever. The entity gives them a gold star for being a good and lucky boy. This is what you're asking for with extra, inane steps.

Personally I don't care enough to argue against it. Again I don't really slug for the 4k and almost always let the last survivor go.

  • I think after gens are done the killer should be able to simply leave the match. Personally I don't care for camping someone in the EGC for a pity kill and would simply like to go next.

This is a double edge argument. I agree Survivors do play hide-n-seek more often than not at the end.

For me personally if there is one gen left. I'll do my best to get that one gen done. I also see other Survivors do this as well. I've had a few times where the random and I clutched an escape. Although I agree most people just play hide-n-seek.

Here's the thing. Survivors only hide and wait because they know the Killer is going to aggressively rotate to each remaining gen. The risk of getting caught doing gens increases with how many gens are left and if you are 3 gen'd. If it's a smaller map it again amps up the difficulty.

Therefore the remaining Survivors "need" to hide. Many times I had to hide for minutes because the gens were so close and the Killer was rotating between the gens so fast it was impractical to even get on one for more than a few moments. Not saying Killers are too sweaty but they are very "determined" lol.

Yet most of all, Survivors tend to hide because we know what's coming. Despite a 3k being a win for the Killer. Most Killers aren't satisfied unless they get the 4k. Many times I have opted to sacrifice myself whilst there are only two remaining Survivors and the other was in chase and on death hook. Hence, I either body blocked the Killer(taking the hit) or took chase accepting my fate. Yet does the Killer hook me? No, he immediately proceeds to hunt down the other Survivor.

It's not about blaming Killers but a fact is a fact. Those who play Killer regardless of finger pointing… take advantage of the system in order to deny the last Survivor the opportunity to even have the "minimum chance" to try and get hatch. Please note below, hatch is not a 'win' for the Survivor. It's literally considered a draw. It's not about mmr but it's clear here what the Devs intend the win conditions to be.

The developers aren't forcing Killers to slug at the end of a game. They designed the game to be played a certain way. The killer is meant to hook the Survivor. It's the refusal to participate in normal gameplay that has led to this issue. If Killers simply hooked instead of so desperately wanting the 4k… This whole post would be obsolete. If the Devs intended for slugging? Why even implement hatch, hmm. They intended for the last Survivor to have an opportunity to get hatch. It's basically meant to be a 1v1 at the end if you think about it.

*You will never get rid of slugging. There is no fix nor band-aid that can cure slugging. Although if we allow for Survivors to punish slugging via being able to pick themselves up after a fixed period of time or the option to self sacrifice after a few minutes… This will increase the rate at which the last Survivor can at "MINIMUM" have the opportunity to even try to go for hatch. Either that or the Killers will start hooking more and the slugging will be more situational. Which is fine with me. If the Killer slugs the last two Survivors next to each other and hooks/moris them. I have no issues with this.

A loss or a win toward an invisible number you have no real interaction with feels inconsequential.

Killers are supposed to kill survivors. Killing more survivors feels like winning more decisively. People like winning in PVP activities. Making 4ks impossible and telling killers that they'll take their 2ks and be happy with it is incredibly clumsy and counterintuitive.

Also I wouldn't say most killers aren't satisfied unless they get the 4k. I know I don't care. If it were happening most games you'd get more slugging for the 4k, which equates to more time on the ground and the stats do not bear that out. Sorry. But I also understand why some go for it and don't blame them.

It's definitely an improvement. But I'm not really sure what you could do to make the perk even moderately popular. Maybe all three stats could get buffed to 50% for a minute? I don't know. The perk just feels really pointless.

Chest opening speed buffs suck. Totem cleansing speed buffs suck almost as much. Healing speed increases are useful, but it's eclipsed by other perks.

Maybe it needs some other effect added to it. Like making healed survivors exhaustion recover faster for a limited time? Like an altruistic but weaker version of vigil?

My idea with it was to give +X seconds onto the next hook timer of the healed survivor in addition to the current effects. I still like that one a lot.
