Sounds like you have very very bad Internet.

That's funny. I suggested that exact BBQ buff a couple years back. It's still a good idea.
Weave just needs to reveal the aura of the item. The oblivious is fine as it is.
I'd go further with alien instinct and make the oblivious 25s. I love that perk irrationally.
-
They will never add this, because they cannot moderate it. The chat filter shows they're invested in censoring what people in their game say, however flawed it is.

a) only survivors have a handful of useless tools for this. Unless distortion gets a proper buff
B) I’m talking about ALL aura reading. Information is one thing, perma wall hacks isn’t info, it’s an answer.
The game is to hunt survivors not know where they are at all times to use your 6 perks plus 2 powers, plus speed boost, teleportation, sub human reach to kill everyone instantly.
If you need more than a 2 second aura reveal to play the game the indisputable fact is you’re not good enough. 8-10 second aura reveal is like having training wheels on a bike. Fine whilst you get the hang of it but you need to lose the wheels and grow up.
Aura reveal in this game should be a hint to guide you if lost not the answer to ensure victory.
There is no "perma wall hacks" in the game. You're just exaggerating every aspect of the game and it's undermining your post. If I cared to I could turn it around on survivors, but it's disingenuous and intellectually dishonest to do so.

I think this would be a good addition, Jolt/discordance/surveilance/deadmans/eruption all have information that can counter it, thrilling tremors also.
all the people over reacting here is funny. You can see the generator auras and hear their progress… you don't need to see EVERYTHING through aura reading.Jolt has a range and the screams aren't directional. If someone is screaming from jolt you can probably just y'know, see the gen being worked on. Discordance only works vs survivors that group on gens. Good survivors do not do this. It gets way way less valuable when you go up against good opponents. Surveillance works, but there's a reason it's rarely run: it's clunky. Dead Man's switch works on one gen, if a survivor let's go after a hook. That's useful, but not as information. Thrilling tremors has a longass cooldown, a short duration and is otherwise very very tepid information.
It's got the same problem the last iteration of distortion did in that it makes aura perks unreliable. Hook with BBQ and don't see anyone because they're using their infinite aura suppression perk on a gen. That'll feel great. Hook someone with alien instinct and don't see anyone cuz they're just on a gen. Great. Run floods of rage, don't see anyone but the unhooker. Not valuable information.
I cannot believe yall are in a tizzy over distortion still. My survivor games haven't changed at all and as killer is nice to be able to actually use aura perks.
-
Nobody likes this?
Huh. I think it's pretty cool. Items that you can only find in the trial seems good to me.
Not a fan of the firecrackers though. Not unless they fix survivors clipping into your model to get saves.
-
No you don't.
-
They won't do this. The entire reason they added the finisher Mori was to make them more common to increase the perceived value of the skins with unique Moris attached. Or a Mori shop.
Sorry you have to watch a brief animation sometimes 😥
-
Good God, you're right. There's an area without thirty back to back God pallets. This must be remedied immediately.
-
Old Circle was one of the strongest perks the game has ever seen. It's in a good spot right now.

Blame gens becoming longer and longer and longer, with all the gen locking, regression and slowdown being used these days. There is no room for error anymore hardly.
I'm not saying gens can't go quickly, but one down and suddenly the games extended by half a minute or more depending on the combo.Every single perk you're complaining about has been nerfed. Severely.

PVE would be better than being paired with people that you don’t wanna play this game with, and basically being forced to play the game with cheaters/toxic players or take some ridiculous penalty.
You come off as someone that rage blocks everyone that doesn't play exactly how you want them to.
Do killers get to disconnect for free in this system?
-
That's not quality of life. It's a buff to everyone. Even good swfs misscall what locker they're in. That information does not need to be infallible.

I’m just wanting a perk to be buffed like you do? Is there an issue?
Then make a thread about it. What a weird ass thing to be hostile over.
I like the terror radius requirement of overwhelming presence, I just wish it lingered for while. My idea from a while back was that when survivors use an item while under the effect of it is that they're hit with a skill check that takes some charges if they miss it. It'd complement the terror radius requirement better.
-
Well, it would be funny seeing all the survivors trying to become the obsession so they can use self care 2.0, at least.

Well they certainly need to fix the "teleport spam instakill" playstyle as thats why i stopped enjoying playing as her because everyone associates you as a "spammer" even if you just try to get around the map
This only works against people who are confused and frightened by the idea of interacting with a big glowing box. Condemned will never proc on survivors that just do tapes.
-
It's interesting how people use solo as an excuse to run Windows.
Are yall playing with swfs that call out every single pallet they drop, infallibly, throughout the whole map? Because that's the info Windows gives you. Constantly. I've never played with anybody that does that, nor could I remember that information if they did. Guess you're just built different, huh?
That being said I don't think windows is a huge deal. Give it a slightly smaller range or something.

Are we just wedging Aura Bad into every unrelated conversation now?

I genuinely hope Smokebomb comes as a perk. its fun, cool and unique. If you don't think disengage mechanics healthy or fun, then you really came to the wrong game seven years ago, Survivors had it from day one!
It is also just a few chases, you take it too seriously imo. I got flashbanged 3 times tonight in one game, I'm not gonna quit over that perk, nothing is going to happen to me over it. My MMR will reduce, then bounce up again next trial, and that matters so little anyway.
You can do stuff about flashbangs. Look at a wall unless they clip into you. Smoke bombs are way easier to get value from.
I'd be fine with them as a one time use item like someone else said.
-
Twitter rioted when distortion was changed. I expect they'll make it start with 3 tokens and gain a token for every second in chase by the end of the year.
-
@Iron_Cutlass said:
I honestly hope the perk gets reworked altogether.
The perk has an insanely strong effect but it is shoehorned behind an awful activation requirement and leads to clunky/unfun gameplay just to force value with it, only to have 60 seconds of fun followed by another set amount of time of depression trying to get it to proc again.
Also the perk always procs when the final Generator is completed, with NOED and other Haste perks, it can lead to the Killer snowballing with very little effort. While NOED is definitely the main issue with this, Machine Learning is a massive enabler of this playstyle.
I think Machine Learning has an interesting idea, but I really dont think it fits into the game. I think the easiest thing BHVR could due is make it a token-based perk that gains tokens when a Generator is completed like Fired Up is.
It's not a good perk. Noed gets you one down 95% of the time before it's cleansed.

I played about 70:30 survivor:killer before the finisher mori was implemented. Then it took me some days to even want to try a survivor match. What I've found since then is that proxy camping and tunneling appear to be the rule now rather than the exception. It's become shockingly common for the killer to run back to hook and come at me if I've just been unhooked.
Slugging for the 4k also appears to be practically expected now, and I actually breathe a sigh of relief when I see the third survivor get picked up. It's quite uncommon. The toxicity level I've been seeing has reached a point where the game is becoming unrewarding. I'd say this isn't a sideways push for basekit unbreakable, but more of a desire to keep the game enjoyable.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on these experiences that are completely opposite mine. Again, I invite you or anyone to show me these very common games where the no good bad killer is always running back to the hook and being a bad boy and hitting the guy off hook. It happens rarely.

First of all i said a little bit.
And the whole discourse and debates about distortion tell me its out of hands - i mean, distortion wouldnt be as controversial if it was only about these three perks, would it?
The discourse is vastly overblown because there's a large contingent of people that don't want to engage with the killer at all. They lost a tool to play cowardly and are upset. So now aura perks are the bad guy, just like haste bad was the mantra early this year.
Again you're not being specific. Because you can't be. Is hangman's trick losing you games? Awakened awareness? You seeing alien instinct a lot? How about hex: retribution? No? Wonder why. Hint: all of those perks have very little impact compared to actual game stall perks. Knowing where a dude is doesn't automatically kill him. You have to chase and outplay at least twice.

Camping and tunnelling (especially the latter) always were and will always be complained about. Slugging joined because the Finisher Mori system (in it's current iteration at least, there's room for mending) actively encourages slugging for the 4k to see the shiny animation (which will get worse after every new Killer/Visceral skin/eventual Mori dlc). It wouldn't even be that complicated to make the Finisher Mori system much healthier.
It was expected and predicted by many that slugging would become worse as a result so it's nothing surprising even if unfortunate.
My perspective is skewed because I've always just gone and found the killer to get in one final chase because I don't care about hatch, but I have started to track my games.
Out of fifteen matches I saw one camping/tunneling example. It was me on rpd vs an iri head huntress. 2 out at the end. It would have been 3 but I messed up and let her get an m1.
Slugged for the 4k once, vs a dark Lord. I didn't spend more than 1:30 or so on the ground.
Now previously I almost never got slugged for the 4k, contrary to popular sentiment. So I'll concede that it has increased. 0-1 is indeed an increase. My sample size is very small but congruent with official numbers on being slugged inordinately and Scott junds tunneling video and poll. Frankly I do not believe people who claim to see this stuff frequently. They won't play duos with me. They don't have evidence. It's incongruent with all the other evidence.
Finally it's pretty obvious what people screeching about slugging want: basekit unbreakable. They got basekit BT. They got anti facecamp. Now they want more. I've seen people saying they want basekit Windows as well. Suppose after they get UB that'll be the next target.
-
Explain to me how aura reading is out of hand. You're only going to ever see three perks outside of huntress and nurse: BBQ, lethal and nowhere to hide.
-
I like how slugging has entered the tired complaints about "camping and tunneling". The sideways push for basekit unbreakable is ridiculous.
If you really feel this way I encourage you to record your games. You'll find this stuff doesn't actually happen that often, if at all.

Dracula is overtuned, but it's mostly because his kit is insanely overloaded. They gave one killer the powers of 5 different killers. Individually those powers are weaker than their associated killers, but when all are loaded onto a single killer they become overwhelming.
Bat: Spirit + Dredge
Wolf: Wesker + Oni
Man: Literally just Pyramid Head
I think it's mostly just the bat that's problematic. Flame pillar is fun to juke and so is the wolf, kinda.

There are some people who want to move on to the next match as fast as possible, and I imagine that's in part because by the time they've reached the end of the current match they've been bored for a while. The ends of matches can be dragged out, boring slogs depending on how it goes. Or maybe they really believe in optimizing their time for max points and animations and queue times eat into that.
I don't have the issue myself so I'm just theorizing. At the end of a boring match when I'm in the death animation I'm sighing with relief like "Finally, it's over." A few seconds of animation doesn't make it any less over to me.
I too, begin to experience extreme boredom if left unstimulated for a few seconds.

I love that you really want to screw yourselve even more, you want a not so good perk to be nerfed, for what?
You killers want survivors to use stronger stuff? If I were you I'd be grateful that the survivor has windows, one less perk I have to deal with, why do you hate windows so much? The pallet and the window will exist whether the survivor uses the perk or not, I'll never really understand the windows hate.Windows is really strong, actually. It is the most popular perk in the game for a reason and it's not just because solo bad.

I've posted that it should work both ways.....a couple of times. It's still a good idea. Don't like the idea of making auras inconsistent again but it's such a niche perk it's probably fine

Ohh come on, Knowwhere to hide and Friends til' the end. You chose two of the most easily indentifiable aura perks, the latter whitch is obvious when its used. You think Im a entitled survivor main that started playing DBD this year that gives up easily? I love DBD and Im not oblivious to see that we are reaching the point of too many aura perks and the devs are slapping aura reveal on everything. When Im looping I want to know the killer bested me with good skills and mindgames not because he is reading my everymove.
Nowhere to hide is what I would consider the most difficult to determine, cuz the effect follows the killer. I picked the most common aura perks. The only ones you're gonna see outside of huntress.
I never called you an entitled anything main. That kind of language is pointless and unproductive. Just like you handwaving "too many aura perks" when it doesn't matter whether there's 50 or 500 aura perks when most of them have such powerful effects as "see man near one of four hooks on the map" or "you can see a person if they're really close to 3 chests on the map. Also they can turn it off, lol "
The aura discussion has a lot of nuance people are not willing to engage with. Namely that most aura perks are piss weak and not worth running. Have you ever seen awakened awareness? Alien instinct? Probably very very few times. That's not a coincidence. There's only a handful of viable aura perks, most are niche or unusably bad. It's the same mindless hivemind mentality that brought you "haste bad" early this year while bemoaning such stellar perks as PWYF and batteries not included.
-
Glendale has my favorite aesthetic in the game. I'd love more variants.

I always used Distortion not because I hated interacting with the killer but because I hated not knowing when my aura was being revealed. Change the aura reveal mechanics to warn us when our aura is being revealed like in 2vs8 and I will gladly remove Distortion from all my survivors.
You know what is revealing your aura with a tiny bit of game sense. Killer beelined toward you after kicking a gen? Golly gee how did they find me? It's a mystery. Killer beelined toward you or a teammate after hooking someone? Whatever could cause that? No one knows. It's an unanswerable question. Why oh why did I get exposed after the someone got hooked and I'm the obsession? Dunno, better just give up because it's impossible to know. Come on.

Yeah, I could see that.
I have to admit that I personally disconnect already every time someone is doing a mori on me because I don't like them. Not having the option to skip makes me play the game less. But you're probably right that BHVR would want to be advertising paid animations.
..... What? Can't you just look at your phone or something? Alt tab? Disconnecting because of an animation in a video game seems very extreme.
-
@smurf said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3824438#Comment_3824438
Those aren't really the same thing though. The people suggesting to skip moris aren't interested in seeing them, and feel either that their time is wasted, or that they just don't want to see them.
If we want to compare this to cosmetics, it would be closer to a cosmetic that comes with some kind of animation that only activates at the end of a match where a survivor causes the killer to watch the animation as the match ends. And then the suggestion is still different than asking to make such cosmetics default, but more like asking not to have to be made to watch the cosmetic-related animation.
It doesn't matter what you want. It matters to BHVR that their paid cosmetics are seen, because that gives them greater perceived value and helps push sales.
-
They will never let you do this, because they want people to buy the new Mori skins. It's tantamount to asking them to add an option to make all cosmetics the default. Won't happen.

You lose random and unreliable value from Haemorrhage, but get to keep it working fully as intended if you're actively using it yourself. It'd still work for preventing 99'd heals and for ambushing healing survivors, but not for just disabling the Solidarity you didn't even know the survivors had.
You get both status effects, but they're healthier.
I mean, your version of hemorrhage doesn't do anything. You get that, right? There's nothing stopping 99 heals on a gen. If I interrupt a survivor getting healed under hook and chase their healer they can simply finish it off with their medkit. It gets rid of like all of the utility of the status effect.
Which again, might be fine if mangled comes back. Just not sure about it.
-
So getting rid of hemorrhage in exchange for getting mangled back?
Hmmm. It's close to being a fair trade, I guess. Maybe.
-
There's no reason why I should be playing in a South American server in Kentucky.

I like this idea. Remove the gens and hooks from the event modes, set a ten-minute time limit, and then everyone can just play with the void stuff. Collect orbs and smash pumpkins and interact with that void well, collect your void crystals or captured haunts. After the time is up, it just goes to the tally screen with your points. Everyone wins. :D
Just have a ten minute long screen where bloodpoints go up and you get event rewards at the end. Same thing, and equally dull.
This community is ridiculous with how they want to police how others play. People can sweat if they want. People can chill if they want. It does not matter. Event elements are made to complement and hook into the normal gameplay loop and they do it pretty well.
-
No you haven't.

Killers are proxy camping in-void and then using the power to 2-tap the survivor so they can tunnel through endurance, interacting with the event in the smallest sense of the word.

This is just what people do. It's a pointless thing to bemoan. All you can do is play the way you'd like to be played against.

Also if it was such a bad niche build why would I bother running it or even mention my experience trying it as killer. Also rapid brutality with knock out franks and weave was my own idea I thought of smh.
You're supposedly running m1 perks on killers with excellent damaging m2 abilities. I'm sorry, but that's nonsense. Like wesker automatically picks up survivors he downs with dash. How's that have any synergy with knockout? Your build is just random stuff thrown together.
