It isn't broken, you need to adjust your playstyle to deal with Vigil strats.
Firstly, in the "worst case scenario", 4 vigils means 4 less perks in the trial that increase gen speed, increase healing speed, provide crucial info on killer, or that help with altruistic plays. This also rarely actually happens because Vigil is a good perk but not as strong as people are claiming. I would much rather run other perks as a survivor main. I used to use Sprint Burst and Fixated a lot and threw in Vigil sometimes, but I've moved on from that build because though it is decent, it is somewhat 1-dimensional.
Exhausted: in order to get really fast exhaustion recovery, survivors must group up closely since the Vigil effective range is only 8 meters. this gives you an advantage since split pressure is the most efficient way to complete the main objective. So even if all the survivors stay close to one another to abuse the Vigil effect, they're now making themselves easy targets for a snowball and aren't getting gens done, or if they are teaming up on a gen, their gen efficiency is greatly reduced. I've now addressed the "strongest" case argument for Vigil being "OP" due to stacking exhaustion, and now it is debunked.
Blindness/Oblivious: killers have tons of aura reading ability, so survivors having it too is fair, since survivor stealth has been heavily nerfed. How do you think survivor's feel when there are almost no counter to killers' wall hack builds? The counter to this is very easy, just don't solely rely on perks and playstyles which induce Blindness/Oblivious, just as survivors must not solely rely on remaining hidden the entire trial. Again, this is only in the rare case you have a 4-Vigil team. Since this extreme case rarely happens in practice, most matches still benefit from Blindness/Oblivious killer strategies.
If you're just complaining about 1 player in a match that takes advantage of a good synergy between Fixated, Sprint Burst and Vigil, then no nerf is warranted. There are plenty of ways to play around this playstyle. That player is dedicating 3 full perk slots to player movement, meaning they don't get increased gen speed perks, increased healing speed perks, killer info perks, and altruistic perks. They're strong in one department, and weak in most others. Identify the player's build early on and adjust accordingly.
"Don't run status effects with timed durations"
Alright. Regression perks it is.

its an accessibility nightmare even if theyre limited use
I'm not buying "you can't have cool stuff because of accessibility issues". That attitude is why we'll never have a spider killer. Telling everybody they can't have a dope item or killer because one out of every hundred thousand people have an issue with it is ridiculous.

It's still not essentially being exposed, since you can still loop and mindgame. If it was essentially being exposed, you wouldn't have even had the chance to be cut off like in the clip above and already have been on hook. And yes, that makes a big difference.
And no, I didn't say 'just loop' I said pay attention to what the Ghoul is doing to the best of your abilities. And as it was said before, that loop in particular is a bit of a death trap and yet I could still see where a survivor can waste more of the killer's time before going down had they played correctly.
Sometimes, in situations like that, wasting time is valuable for the others to do gens. Even if it's a few more seconds.Unfortunately I cannot draw you a crayon diagram to explain it but I'm gonna take your hand and walk you through it.
When you are exposed you take one hit and go down, yes? Are you in agreement? Good. When you are in mending you take one hit and go down. Yes? Are you following? It has nothing to do with mindgames or looping in either instance. Exposed does not hinder your looping and neither does mend. Do you comprehend this?
Wonderful. You're doing very very well.
Now ghoul looks at you from half the map away and puts you in mend. You have no agency in this. Even nurse has to line up a hit to take the health state. There is a degree of agency even there though not much. Ghoul provides ZERO agency in this. There is nothing a survivor can do to avoid being a one hit down. Considering his insane mobility and anti loop your counter looping options are extremely limited. You mindgame and leave loop. Ok, now he's on your ass cancel power and you're down. You mindgame and stun him. Ok he scampers the pallet and you're down. You take the long side of the loop ok he slings himself on your ass and you're down. Are the pieces of the puzzle coming together? Does the killer feel fair?

That isn't my clip btw, I should've emphasized that better. Either way, shouldn't the "gymnastics" be incentivized? It's FAR more skilful and engaging than the boring default "eat stun > scamper" play.
And yes, after the survivor dropped the pallet they didn't have many options, if you know the map well its a very isolated loop and death if the killer plays it well. Positioning, planning and pathing is how you counter his movement.Uhhh sure? I reckon you should have to weeble wop around the map to get a down as ghoul. Why not?
Unfortunately that's not the case. The person in the clip did all kinds of unnecessary stuff in order to illustrate "skillful" play. All they had to do was scamper. That's it. I'd argue this isn't even skillful, it's tantamount to if the blight could rush right next to you and cancel the rush instantly.

Exposed means downed even when healthy, and mending, you can still waste the killer's time if you're decent at looping and mindgames. That's a big difference in a game where time means everything.
I said it is essentially being exposed, not factually being exposed. Then I explained why it's functionally the same thing. Your rebuttal is.... Nothing. "Just loop lol". Obviously impossible versus this broken killer, especially with one health state.

Scamper wouldn't have mattered if she stayed near the long end of the loop. Sure it's fast, but once he's in scamper animation you move to the other side of the loop and can still benefit from the pallet being there.
And it's less that you're permanently exposed, and more that it's a long range Legion strike. That's fine to hate, but it ain't exposed.Functionally what makes it different than being exposed? You can't dead hard because of mend. You're not getting a mend off in chase. You're performing the chase with one health state. Every other killer in the game has to actually do stuff to get that kind of value. Ghoul looks at you, you get stunned, injured and deep wounded. The survivor can do nothing about this. It feels vastly unfair. The comparisons to legion are superficial at best and disingenuous at worst. Legion has to actually traverse to your location, has to respect pallets and can be stunned out of power. Ghoul literally vaguely looks in your direction and half the chase is over.

Watching the clip above, I can't say the Ada didn't have agency in that situation.
Even just watching, the Ada could have double backed instead of committing to the loop during the second use of his power when he was leaving the loop for a second, forcing the Ghoul to either A. move back around the corner and continue the loop, B. Vault the pallet to attempt to cut off the Ada or C. Cancel and save a charge and return to looping. And while it would have been easier to just break the pallet when the Ada is on the wrong end, a skilled play like that was extremely beneficial for saving time since the Ada didn't predict the outcome.
In the moment, it could feel like you'd have no options, but looping a good Ghoul requires fast thinking when he's in frenzy like that. Obviously it's a case-by-case scenario, but that clip above, I see the options the Ada had.She didn't double back because she was wary of scamper, which would have gotten the hit. Instead she went around the loop(supposed ghoul counterplay) and got hit anyway. Thrilling gameplay.
I'm always going to hate ghoul as long as he looks in your direction and immediately wins half the chase. You're essentially permanently exposed vs a killer with insane chase and antiloop. It's dumb as hell.

Agreed, but his cancel shouldn't be nerfed. If anything it should be incentivized, It's much more engaging than boring vault gameplay. It's damn annoying in the open but that's his strength. He forces you to position correctly and have a solid plan.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/G0LFHV4HXNID/very-cool.gif
I mean look at this. You could argue this clip in particular would've still been possible with a harsher CD, but that depends on the loop and how the survivor paths. I've hit many cool trickshots that would've missed if I were waiting any longer. (not my clip)
What Ghoul needs is a fix to kidnap, reduced injure range (8-10 meters, was 14)
And an increase to his environment range (revert nerfs including range addon)
His ranges should be separate, currently his injure and environment ranges are unified.I remember you. You have a clip where you're bouncing off walls in midwich when all you had to do was eat the stun and scamper.
Just like this clip. All you had to do was scamper the pallet but the only way you can enjoy this broken ass killer is to put yourself through gymnastics. This stuff looks fancy but ultimately it's not because the survivor had one choice: stay at the loop. If they leave you catch up and cancel. You can sling yourself to the other side of the map and back but it's just set dressing because the survivor has zero agency against ghoul.
-
The last couple patches have had considerable survivor buffs. Survivor has not gotten worse from like three months ago, it's gotten better
-
Or they could just revert the whole thing
-
Skull merchant was nothing like ghoul. She was never that popular and she was mid tier at best. The issue with her was lingering dislike from the chess merchant iteration and an unwillingness to learn her counterplay(turn off drones).
Ghoul is a licensed and extremely popular killer. They will never do to him what they did to SM.
-
Weirdly enough, not a small request. The assets for those menus gets shuffled out when a new one replaces it. If you wanted to swap them out they'd have to be downloaded and cached in the game files. That'd increase loading times and install size. So not as clear cut as you'd think.

I've only seen the devs responding to people who want them nerfed or removed so far. So my guess is that they will either be nerfed so hard that they become mostly useless, or they will just scrap them entirely.
Where have you seen devs talking about it? Not doubting you but I'm curious about their commentary.
As far as accessibility goes...... It sounds mean but you cannot account for every single issue someone has. Not everything is for everybody, sorry.

I agree with all this except the chase music volume. That is not quality of life, it's a game balance thing.
Especially the survivor voices. Hearing survivors yapping kills my immersion.

Well if hitting a killer with headon actually caused them to lose their addons for that match, maybe we'd have a real comparison….
The game is asymmetrical. The killer losing their add-ons is not remotely equivalent to a survivor losing their items.

You can turn of TV, but even doing so she can stack up condemned pretty fast. And she is not weak, that's just irrelevant. She has insane map mobility nad tricky but viable antiloop, better than Pig and Wraith. It just requires some timing = not trash. Cheers.
How's she building condemned when her TVs have been turned off? She has mediocre and conditional map mobility that is completely controlled by survivors. Her antiloop barely exists.

Darling, the killers already have a +15 degree FOV slider, and here it’s +10 degree, and I’m telling you for sure that I didn’t notice any advantage there, it’s just a little more visibility and that’s it, it's still easy to outplay the survivor on checkspots as usual it's not like old strech res or 120 fov config!
Dead by daylight is a game of numbers and even small numbers are vital. 2% and 3% haste on survivors makes a large difference. Any FoV increase comes on top of survivors already larger FoV. You mention how killers have a +15 degree option? That is for motion sickness and accessibility. Survivors have no such issue because their FoV is already larger than killers. Again, the game is asymmetrical.
-
They should really have a generous number of uses instead of infinite recharges.
-
I played for about three hours last night and saw zero hard tunneling. The problem is vastly overblown and these sorts of heavy handed solutions are not only abusable, they are terrible game design.
Trying to make 4ks illegal is also ridiculous. I don't slug for the 4k because I don't care but if survivors had basekit unbreakable I'd juggle them up and down until they bled out from spite.

Nope. Franklins was just toxic how it was, and clown? If you want to talk about "dumbed down", it was literally just a simple formula of: throw yellow bottle when too far away to catch up in chase. throw purple bottle to get your free hit at a loop. Throw yellow bottle at your feat and camp hook with wall hacks. Rinse and repeat.
A perk cannot be "toxic". Behaviors are or are not toxic. Not game mechanics.
Franklin's was a mid tier perk unnecessarily gutted. Killer perk slots are extremely valuable and spending a slot to maybe counter items was absolutely fine. That's one less slot for aura reading(which survivors hate) or game stall.
The fairness or fun of the perk means nothing. Your enjoyment inherently comes with the frustration of your opponents. Are you having fun staring at a gen that got hit with dead man's switch? Are you having fun getting your shred negated by dead hard on demo? Of course not. But that stuff is enabling your opponent to have fun. The only objective measure is looking at how strong a perk is in comparison to it's peers and Franklin's was low B tier at best.
-
They have too much stuff on their plates. The content pace is absolutely brutal.

-
This is a new killer. It's not fair to discard a popular killer that many, many people enjoy and replace it with something completely different.
-
Yeah it's actually nuts how long they take to do anything. Considering how bloated their employee count is I can only assume every decision has to go through layers of bureaucracy to even get a change started.
Like the quest stuff is super bare bones. Just the basic information with no visual flare at all. How long are we gonna take to get something like we used to have? Like the observer's room? Years probably.
-
There is no way they constrain matchmaking according to what cosmetic everyone has equipped. It would increase queues by a huge amount.
If it helps, your skins are not your skins. You do not own or have dibs on any character or cosmetic. They belong to everyone, comrade.
-
It's a very boring way of game balance. Shuts down a lot of perk synergy and makes bad haste perks (batteries not included) even less appealing.

Apparently cheating is more preventant nearer Asia and around Russia than it is in the other places.

No thanks. Most of the survivor aura perks have already been gutted. I see it used more for killer info now, since you can track where people are running. I'm sure some folks use it to throw the killer off by leading them to someone on a gen, but that’s pretty rare.
When were any survivor aura perks changed at all? As far as I can tell powerful ones just keep getting added.

Ghoul's whole chase lethality, if you neglect power vaults of course, comes from the 2 second cancel cooldown, make it any higher and you effectively strip away his whole identity.
Dash Killers usually have higher cooldowns on their powers because they can down DIRECTLY with them like Blight for example who has a 2.5 sec miss cooldown. The main outlier is Vecna who has a 2.75 sec fatigue after ending Fly even if he cannot hit survivors directly while using it and that's because the spell itself is not meant to guarantee downs, Mage Hand and Flight of The Damned are meant for that.
Not to mention that a higher cancel cooldown for Ghoul would still not help survivors in scenarios where they literally have no resources near them, similar to every dash killer in the game.
Also a lot of people seem to be unaware of the fact that pressing the 'cancel Kagune Leap' button while Ghoul is leaping makes it so he enters the fatigue only after the dash itself ends, not during it.
You're never meant to be holding W against Ghoul in chase if his power isn't on cooldown, you're forced to play and stick by the tile, and then hold W if the Ghoul player either misplays or if they decide to break a pallet which puts their power on cooldown.
By the way, Made For This does make a big difference if you're deep wounded against Ghoul. But of course that's only the case if you're in a tile as survivor and not in the middle of nowhere.
Oh and one last thing, Ghoul's power vaults just lead to extremely boring gameplay on both sides. It's obnoxiously strong, especially by taking kidnap-tech into the equation, if the survivor doesn't know how to directly counter it (you literally need to go on Twitter and search for counterplay), and when the survivor does know how to counter his power vault, it practically becomes useless if Ghoul isn't both in Enraged mode and using his first leap to latch onto a survivor and vault a pallet, which is also unhealthy and skilless design.
Meant to stick on tiles and play them unless the ghoul immediately breaks the pallet which does not drain tokens while the power is recharging, then they swing to your position when you have the temerity to try to get away, cancel their power on your ass and just down you anyway because you do chases with ghoul with one health state.
-
I mean, it is buff. You're adding functionality to perk that it currently does not have.
That being said I don't think Object needs the buff. It's the most powerful information perk in the game and it's incredibly useful to coordinated groups. It should retain stealth as a weakness
-
This is not what quality of life is. These are buffs.

No my killer main is Michael. I honestly feel killer is too easy. I don't even go for any kills if I'm having fun jump scaring everyone one. If the survs don't know how to communicate or are toxic then I kill them but its not a challenge. It WAS a challenge back in the day. I used to run matches that would last until the timer ran out. That's too long for little kids but it was sure fun and involved skill and strategy. Something these kids now don't know how to use. I explained a lot of what I and my friends were discussing about the old days. As far as the hatch difference, It was very challenging for either party to find hatch in the old days. Now its pretty instant to find, there's a pattern and usually spawns at killer shack without any offerings or right next to killer 9/10 times. Ive been playing since 2017 so its not hard to see the difference.
I'm sorry but intentionally losing games kind of takes away from any of your ideas credibility. You don't even play DBD.
-
What exactly do you think changed that makes the hatch spawn in front of the killer?
Seems like you just want the survivor stuff back. Do you still want first hook moris? No basekit BT? Guarantee you'd see that in nearly every game because it's more novel now than it was then.
