I don't play as much as I use to, but it's pretty fun for a bit when I get on. It does slowly fade away after a few games of playing with rocks for teammates.
surprisingly, the tunneling doesn't feel as rampant as before but it does occur. Negligible compared to the teammates you get, solo q is still a painful experience.

I don't get why it's not like this
introduce crap perk, rework it, take credit for 'listening to feedback'
-
we don't need proof, just reading the perk description is enough to know it's garbage.
How this is the best they could come up with during the design process, knowing chapters are worked on months in advance, yet this perk actually reached servers in its current form. Astounding, truly.
-
don't see it much in solo q. The few times I've brought it I've gotten little value because I end up being chased first, teammates unhook before I can use STB, etc.
par the course for so called 'game breaking' perks that only affect game balance for swf or high mmr, relatively meaningless in solo q
-
Thrill is annoying but not sure about it being op; hex builds are high risk, high reward and I'm fine with that.
Hexes having their progress restarted and not regressed makes it more of an issue than it needs to be. Combining Thrill w/ something like FTD also makes the issue worse.
It's just another perk/build that stomps solo q as usual. Rework hexes instead of thrill imo but in typical bhvr fashion they'll probably go past reverting it and just obliterate the perk for no good reason
-
well, 2v8 is over. I suspect things have started to normalize. I see 25% and 50% often, I also see no BP incentive sometimes.
being 100% sure that it's off while also saying you see it at 25%???? interesting
-
2025 dbd is likely the same old, same old. Nothing bhvr has done suggests otherwise
awful new perks, multi power killers, bug ridden updates, waiting months for fixes to old and new bugs, etc
-
it's strong, sorta. I've not had many games where I've been able to get full value out of a hex thrill/devour build, they usually end up cleansing all of my totems by 2/3 gens, sooner depending on the map. Had 1 game where they took out all my totems at 5 gens and I was perk-less all game.
it's an interesting thing to balance. On one hand, ~46 seconds to dedicate to a single objective that is not a gen is pretty rough. On the other hand, you could luck out and cleanse devour first or thrill and make them perk less shortly after.
unfortunately, it's one of those things that is punshing to solo players and those with a lower game iq (aka people who absolutely cannot play while having plaything), but manageable for swfs.
-
2 similar condition, garbage perks can't be ran together? Man, that's crazy. These perks are both bad but crows is absolute crap. IF you were going to run weave you might as well run crows but they don't let you LMAO
classic behaviour stuff. If you're gonna make a crap perk, make it as terrible as possible.

Let me explain clearly why Shoulder the Burden adds extra hook stages to the game:
- How Hook Stages Normally Work
- Every survivor has 3 hook stages:
- First Hook → Second Hook → Death Hook.
- The killer needs 12 hooks total (3 hooks per survivor) to kill all 4 survivors.
- Every survivor has 3 hook stages:
- What Shoulder the Burden Does
- When a survivor is unhooked, they can give one of their hook stages back to the person who unhooked them.
- For example, if someone is on their second hook (death hook), they can use the perk to go back to their first hook state while giving the unhooker an additional hook stage.
- How This Adds Extra Hooks
- The killer now has to hook the unhooked survivor again to get them back to their second stage.
- They also have to hook the unhooker again to reclaim the stage they gained.
- This means the killer ends up needing more than 3 hooks per survivor, increasing the total hooks required to eliminate the team.
- Maximum Impact
- If one survivor uses Shoulder the Burden, it can add 2 extra hook stages (one for the unhooked survivor, one for the unhooker).
- If two survivors use it, it can add 4 extra hook stages.
- If all four survivors use it perfectly, the killer could need up to 20 hooks instead of 12.
- Why It’s Significant
- The perk recycles hook stages, making the killer's job harder because they have to hook survivors many more times than usual to secure kills.
what is this logic? is this chatgpt nonsense?
the unhook-er doesn't get a reduction of his hook states, he gains one while the person on hook loses one. It literally balances itself out. Now, you have to hook the person who used the perk 1 less time as he is now going to be on his 2nd hook once you physically hook him for the first time.
- How Hook Stages Normally Work

I reported a bug and as a console player, initiating a recording isn't at the top of mind as I play (it's also more involved to do this as a console player). Well, the ticket was closed because of no video, as if the video would have helped any more than the words used to describe the bug.
people are already taking the time to report bugs via the forum and now you're just ensuring some people don't bother with it anymore. Noice

One patch note vs multiple times of them adressing it as anti camp measure?
their official patch note is not enough for you? their literal, official announcement introducing the mechanic?
oh brother, OP will accept nothing short of mindless agreement with him. This is not a discussion, this is just ignorance
-
this post became pointless once you someone shared their builds.
So a 4 man clearly bringing the strongest gen builds, happens to match against a person bringing zero gen defense, and per usual forum logic: killer too weak, let's balance game around this cherry picked, extreme scenario that is not representative of your typical match

good post
a comp player and his teammate making a video literally dedicated to using WGLF
this is very representative of the average player's experience
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
It's still really good even at 100%. This doesn't kill the perk at all. It still has the Endurance without needing to be activated anymore and that alone makes WGLF far stronger than it was before.
The problem with the heal speed being 150% was it created too many situations where the killer had no correct play. It took WGLF beyond being an anti-slug tool and put killers in lose-lose situations especially when combined with MFT for double endurance, particularly in situations where it wasn't safe to pick up the survivor due to the threat of a save. And it will still be able to do that some now, just not as much as it could before.
countered by: don't slug
drawback: 1 teammate not on gen for a chance at WGLF that can be negated if a killer decides to pick up immediately; killer can bait the slug and down or get free hit
risk is not worth reward now, especially since most of the time your teammate would go right back down
-
my first 2 games post WGLF nerf and entire team is slugged in both
love to see it. Didn't take long for killers to realize no one would be running this perk anymore
-
I def saw less slugging post WGLF buff, killers seemed genuinely concerned that it could be in play. I saw killers more reluctant to slug and they'd just pick up immediately which makes the perk useless. The perk was strong on paper but it could also easily be countered.
but as usual, nerf it into a useless state. Before someone says it's not 'useless', yes it can still be used but it's not worth a perk slot anymore.

But "updated news system" (what I'm about to say is if updated news system means when you can check news in-game), I mean cmon, who cares? Put that time you spent working on that on something else, like that's worrying that they had that instead of something else written there..
why would they 'SM' him? to compare SM to any other killer in the game is absurd
-
just do the gate in their face, if they let me go, great, if not oh well. Not wasting my time when that situation is usually in the killer's favor
-
don't think BBQ promotes going from hook to hook, they do this already with or without bbq
out of 3 other survivors (less the hooked one), they may come to you. They still need to down you and you have the opportunity to loop so it's not exactly a death sentence. If, as you state, it's constant aura from BBQ then it sounds like you guys are already losing the game if hooks are being rotated that much.
-
I was going to say inb4 the thread gets hijacked with the good ole killer is too weak, gens too fast, survivors too strong rhetoric but it's already the first few comments
I see them as frequent as usual, maybe about 5 per dbd session but nothing out of the ordinary

it's not a change you have to make. You can already hide this stuff unless you deliberately click someone's profile to view it, which you have the power to not do, lol???

I believe it tbh
I was tracking games and got to around 70 ish games and realized I escaped less than 15 games and just pretty much gave up on tracking as I think the results spoke for themselves at that point. Mostly due to inefficient team play and there's nothing we as individuals can do to make up for poor play

Nice reverse psychology. It's the ones giving up at the drop of a hat that are entitled.
Yes Daniel, let me stay in this match where I'm on hook and I can see my teams' auras and realize no one is trying to progress the match. Sorry that you can't quickly process the match information available to you to realize the match that took you 4/5 minutes to get into is already over.
Let me linger a bit longer with 1 teammate dead at 4 gens. Are there some games where we can bounce back? Definitely, but they are not the norm. Please elaborate on why you think players should stay in pointless matches? To play for hatch? No thanks
-
when they fix the fundamental issues that drag the fun out of the game
or you could just ironically feel entitled yourself that your teammate needs to stay in the game with you even though someone else threw way before they decided to go next. That works too

My suggestion would stop it but this chase thing will just kill the perk. Three tokens go fast if the killer has aura perks and you could not hide forever on my version as that was the main gripe any against is was complaining about. The people who play like people think every Distortion user played are not going to change their playing style. They will use other perks and other game mechanics and still keep hiding. Destroying a perk is not going to effect their playing style. Its treating a symptom not the cause.
yeah, 3 tokens will go fast, if as usual, we apply forum logic where we take the extreme end of things and apply it to a general match. So, sure, 3 tokens will go fast when killer brings 4 aura perks and singles you, the distortion user, out.
you can still use the perk, you just have to earn your 2 tokens, big deal. If you want to stealth you can do that but you'll need to use more brain power to know when to get in a locker, when to crouch behind a gen or walk away if you correctly guess killer is coming your way, etc. You can't just freely mind your business all match because distortion has you covered; perfectly fine. Learn to play the game.
I prefer to take chase because it's engaging but I know when to do gens, save, heal and when I can just stealth a bit to avoid an unnecessary chase so I can finish a gen. I don't need distortion. If the killer finds me because of my aura so what, he's focused on me and hopefully my teammates do something with this time

So your solution is to turn those same distortion users into locker rats. There are no other aura counter perks and they wont just stop using stealth gameplay. The perk was already a dead slot for survivors. It's already a rather big weakness having that perk in chase and this change only makes it worse. With aura perks being stronger then ever, if anything you'll see even more distortion user's regardless of the nerf since there's no other counter. The game's just turned into a gen rush/tunneling simulator instead of your so called gen simulator.
the same people who didn't care to run distortion pre-nerf will not care to run it now. Don't know why the perk being nerfed would cause an uptick in users.
tunneling is not new, not related to distortion. 'Gen rush', yes, what the hell else are we supposed to do during the game when we're not in chase, unhooking, or healing? What are we supposed to do at the start of the match when there is literally nothing else to do?
You want to rat in a locker, go for it. Good luck perfecting the art of timing a locker perfectly so you don't get aura read. Your aura will be read now more often now thanks to not being able to hide your aura all game anymore……

Plenty of distortion users take chase, this make's it so all you'll do is take chase/gen rush.
I'm sure some do. In my experience, I really only see 1 person on our team with distortion and 9/10 this person is ratting all game. Plenty of users on here agree and have shared that this is similar to their experience: distortion players usually just hide or as they call it, 'stealth gameplay'.
this doesn't make it so that all you'll do is take chase and 'gen rush'. Just play the game dude, no one is stopping you from walking and hiding if you hear the killer or playing smarter, it's just not rewarding you for hiding and forcing anyone without distortion to get focused on. It's not a big deal unless you relied on it so much.
all this makes it is so that you can still hide but you have to earn it by playing the game beyond sit and do gens. Go alleviate some pressure from the other 3 team members, do saves, heal, etc.
-
@Wezqu said:
Yep its was bad change in my opinion.
I would have changed it to give you three tokens at the start and then you get them back when you get unhooked from the hook. This would give you top nine tokens to use during the match. Only other way to get a token back would be unhooking other survivors safely but can't have more than the max three tokens. This would make the perk work better and force the hider to go unhook if they want more tokens. This would be better than some charge in chase but at least they changed it to two tokens instead of the single use it was in PTB.
the entire point is to stop rewarding players who use exclusively use it to hide and sell their 3 non-distortion teammates to the killer; hence why you only get tokens if you participate in chases too and not just gen simulator…
-
@Marc_123 said:
Bad update. There is a reason some players try to avoid chase.
I sometimes used it and when the killer ran auras (like Huntress) they already chewed through the tokens pretty fast.
well, maybe it's time you take chase and learn it instead of just dodging it. The game exists beyond a simple 'do gens' level.

I am trying it with Object now but I haven't been lucky with the Killers so far. I get many Legions, Tricksters or other killers who get fast hits and without sprint burst to give you a head start, it get's really difficult to stay healthy. Woo is basically a must have.
funny
there was this outcry about how broken it was and it would be so OP despite the average chase being ~30 seconds; surely people were going to double the average chase length while also remaining healthy

Do you not think we're at kinda a turning point though?
Credit where credit ia due, perks have been getting updated up the wazzoo recently... I dunno about you, I feel like BHVR are being a little bit more adventurous and brave with perks over the past few months, and they actually seem to mostly listen to feedback from the PTB now, so busted stuff like Corrective Action doesn't make it to live, and they seem.to be fairly balanced on the final results.
Like Draculas new Hex perks have some pretty ugly combos, Belmont got a slower acting medkit syringe and a Survivor Lethal Pursuer.
I mean yeah, meta redefining perks haven't really cone enough, but the only time something is meta defining its on MFT level, which personally I'd rather avoid. I'd take 3 decent perks over 1 stupid broken one any day.
I wouldn't call feedback about corrective action a win in terms of devs hearing us out. They should have known about this synergy and not wasted time on the changes, even then it made it to PTB where it became clear it was not going to live no matter what (rightfully so).
adventurous perks is a stretch, most new perks are situational and useless. Fun in a gimmicky sense but no value whatsoever to further the match or enhance your survival (drac had a perk to kick chests and Trevor had a perk where you had to waste time opening two chests for the chance to heal after 60 seconds).
useless perks are a result of too many chapters. We constantly get perks that function similarly to older perks but fulfill their functions much better.
I rarely see any Dracula DLC perks in my lobbies; at best someone brings Wretched Fate 1/100 games, Trevor's perks? forget about it

Basically just "if the outfit might clip with other cosmetics on the character, it needs to be a full set". Which is fair, but I really don't see it applying to this skin at all. The head, jacket, and pants all have comparable individual cosmetics for other characters that work as mix-and-match.
clip as in if it might not go well with other items?
-
what's the reasoning in some outfits being sets?
-
oh the outcry that will follow if they gave her another cosmetic before any less popular character who drives little revenue!
-
in general, I rather have a teammate than a bot load into the match if someone happens to DC while the match is being created. In solo qeue however, a bot is probably a better player let's be honest.
but yeah if this means you'll be forced into bot games if someone quits then that's a terrible idea. If that's what it means then it's just another day at bhvr where they implement changes that no one asked for, no one will appreciate, and you wonder why they thought it was a good idea in the first place.
