I checked off like 4 different spots on my bingo card with this one.
For future reference, it's spelled 'TuNnElLiNg GeNs'.
You can also save a ton of words at this point and instead of complaining that survivors are injured, just complain that they don't start out on hook at the start of the match. Since apparently 'healthy' and 'injured' aren't allowed for any reason any more.
Mine too. Looks like, smells like, tastes like... Hmm...

Dbd is an illusion tho
DBD is real, but in fact the game has just released, we've never left 2016.
Skull Merchant, map reworks, MFT... it is all in our heads.

Believe me I've tried that. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't, very inconsistent in that regard. Even tried it with varying sensitivities.
It's one of the reasons playing Singularity feels poopy too, just unresponsive af with a controller to me.
Imagine a world where DBD and controllers co-existed peacefully without the bullshit
-
Call me crazy, but I don't think SWF is a problem. 🤷♂️
Dbd is an illusion tho, and one day we'll all wake up and it'll all just be one of those big Mandala effects.

The camera with the controller suffers from the same issues though. It always feels sluggish and unnatural and unresponsive, even at max sensitivity.
How much do you rotate your camera on sticks when getting hit with BO? I use both my sticks and rotate just enough to look into the lean

The problem with Boil Over against controllers is the dead zones in the sticks combined with input lag. It is inconsistent in its effect, but basically it's much much harder to counter the sway.
Those using a mouse deal with the sway by going with it, and can actually gain a slight movement increase if timed right. But with a controller you often cannot react fast enough to try and go with that sway, instead pulling in the opposite direction and be slowed & pinball off things. It is even more pronounced in doorframes and the inside maps too.
Makes sense about the dead zones. I just turn my camera and go with the wiggle. Gets me to a hook without getting caught up most of the time. Worst one is when you're in front of the hook and they wiggle off like damn it ya little #########. 😓

Ladies and Gentleman...

I wouldn't say it's exactly a new waybut Boil Over does have a long recorded history of screwing with the controller movement more so than m+kb. Every blue moon I'll have a SWF that runs it and tries to get cute on Temple or Foundry. I couldn't tell you what exactly it is that makes it such a menace to controllers.

Killers having unique themes from top-to-bottom wasn't something they focused on too heavily until the past few years, so lots of older characters are still waiting. If I worked at BHVR, I'd design a full theme for each of those killers on my lunch break. Already did one for Pig in my ongoing theme series.

It was a good nerf. She would have been really dumb without it.
BUT
She should have gotten an exchange. On top of generators, traps also get activated when the exit gate lever gets touched.
Agreed that they should have added some form of buffs. Unfortunately, they didn't even give her a chance before destroying her and her endgame playstyles. They had options too like Tag was sayin. From something like you mentioned with exit gates, Tag mentioned with the END Game timer pause, to a different view such as disabling RBT on hatch close, even tinkering with RBT timer or her TR (and I do not mean nerfing it from 28 Metres, which all the newer killers get to break or bend that rule anyways -🐽-).
I'll leave it at yes, she would have been pretty strong, but still very much beatable in ~3-4 minutes. Pig putting you into a tough situation due to RBTs has always been part of her uniqueness.

It still bothers me to this day that they had a very reasonable problem they wanted to solve (Reverse Bear Trap timer + End Game Collapse Timer = death sentence), there was a very reasonable solution to that problem (pause the End Game Collapse Timer while one or more Survivors are wearing Reverse Bear Traps), but instead of the reasonable solution, they opted for the heavy-handed solution and neutered her endgame viability.
@GeneralV said:
I like Pig, always have.
But I do remember when she was an endgame monster, and I wish that hadn't changed. Pig got unnecessarily nerfed many times, and it was sad to watch.
It still bothers me to this day too fellas. That Nerf lives in my head rent-free. It was so long ago I know it shouldn't even matter, but it does because they did her so so dirty with that nerf specifically. 😤 😤
-
Not sure if underrated or just an underdog.
She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts
-
300 IQ Plague plays
-
What did Pinhead do? Coordination and Do-Si-Do are his worst enemy 😂.
He nearly dodged a bullet multiple times with the questionable nerfs he got already. Just a step above a gutted mediocre puppet that survs can completely dominate with little effort. His add-ons are all he has left. Leave my boy alone he's suffered enough.

In all fairness, the ST perks were general perks. Unlockables require you to P1 a character. Jolt for example was the only gen slowdown general perk. If you look at the list of general perks, it's kinda bare.
I agree and is a shame to lose them from that category. ST perks are a special case of their own since they've been both (at least in my time) and it's the only licensed chapter we've lost and had perks on both sides go from Unlockables -> General -> back to Unlockables. Which, may very well be the precedent we see going forward if that situation were to happen again down the line with another license.

Try a large hit. Surge/Jolt is a really good perk assuming you're on a M1 Killer. Meanwhile the next best regression perks available for free are Huntress Lullaby and Thana... which are pretty terrible and requires new players to prestige their Huntress/Nurse to use them on anyone else. AND using Thrill of the Hunt to protect Lullaby doesn't even really work anymore because they binned the notification part of it.
It's bad. It's real bad.
Regardless, considering these perks weren't originally released for free and were only free for 2 years out of the 7 going on 8 years of the game's life I think killers will be okay at the end of the day. Anyone who needs them has them already, and newer players can always buy the chapter if they fear the perks are that important for their gameplay.
Edit: yeah I used to recommend Huntress either 2nd or 3rd in the past for Lullaby, but it's not as good anymore as it once was. Trapper has always had good perks for starting out, i'd just grab them later on. With him and Artist you have Agitation + PR which is good combo.
With Unnverving Presence, if you get him and Doc you could always do Unnerving Presence + Distressing (Flex) + OC (Flex MS) +Slobby 3 gen lockdown on Doc. That's a pretty solid build on him.

Surge was the only free gen regression perk and is great on Wraith and Trapper. Fearmonger is pretty strong too, especially against other beginner players who favour the aura perks.
Better Together is great for letting other newbies find the gen you're working on (especially important on those confusing indoor maps). Fixated is great for teaching you about the scratch marks mechanic. Babysitter is a decent anti-tunneling perk. And the healing perks are invaluable because getting a heal from your teammates off hook is unlikely.
My current Survivor build is 100% free perks and I have 800+ hours in the game, so no it's not a terrible loss. But it does significantly reduce the number of decent perks for new players to start out with (especially for new Killers).
I think BHVR should just make Spark of Madness or Curtain Call part of the base game for everyone. Would make getting started a bit easier for new players, imho. And think of all the extra Feng skins they would sell.
When I was reading OP I thought they were talking surv perks until I read it again (Just now having my coffee). New killers will take a small hit with Surge and Minbreaker going behind the paywall, as they are some of the better free perks. I used MB often just for the exhaustion effect. Not having quick access to Surge (and it's synergy with another general perk Sloppy) is also something they will have missed. I don't use it often due to being screwed by RNG Gen spawns in the past, but I know it has appeal to others.
Not a fatal blow, just adapt and grind it out as always, but def a void in solid utility/gen defense perks since they're taken out of the free rotation.
If I were a new killer starting today and doing F2P, i'd probably still unlock Nurse and then Billy's perks first and save up shards for either Artist or Plague for a gen defense ASAP. Probably Artist for PR over Corrupt, plus Penti, but that's just me. Both are great at what they do.
-
I'm scratching my head trying to figure out which ST perks are better for beginners than the other og character perks you can get that you don't have to pay $$$. The only perks I can think of in ST chapter worth a darn are IH, Fearmongerer, and Jolt, but none of those are make-or-break perks imo.
-
Lmao and there it is. It was only a matter of time, really.

Lucky Break is such a great perk. My loadout is Lucky Break / Inner Strength / Quick and Quiet / Head On. So good to break sight lines in chase, then jump in a locker and heal, or head on and extend chase.
It really is tho. I run it on a very similar build to yours, Joey. Just using different exhaustion perks: SB(or Lithe)/Q&Q/LB/DWM.
-
The mods do well keeping this asylum functioning. There a fine line between what is acceptable criticism/discussion and what is not.
-
Simple, I just don't equip it. 🤷♂️. I'd rather have the spot freed up for something like lucky break or a Houdini combo.

Great minds think alike, hey Boss Man.
They just need to keep it so tightly guarded against these leakers and gaming media outlets, and just keep it so on the DL that when it does come out it is a huge announcement that no one in the community is expecting.

Let's just get a big one out of the way now. P100 Banner. There's no reason it shouldn't happen. These are strong candidates to use as a medium to make a reward for achieving P100 that is worthwhile. I will be optimistic and say it is not a matter of if, but WHEN. When will they take this opportunity to design something special for it, and when will we get to see it? Will it be sooner along with original content being released, rather than later?

Its an anti FACE camp, not anti camp. The idea is so Killers dont just stand in kissing distance, but can still proxy camp. Its the same reason mechanic gets disabled when all gens are done, Killer doesn't have much else to do at that moment. Agree it sucks that happened, but Survivors routinely calling this an anti campung thing are wrong cause thats not what it is or ever has been.
Kissing distance...😘...😳 That's a new one even for me. I kinda like it 😏. Tis the season to meet under the mistletoe after all 🌹🌺.

Need it in the game

It's usually hard to get many people unanimously agreeing on how obnoxious something is. Not the case for SM. She's overstayed her welcome.
-
I remember I forgot about COH change once and that whole game was a hot mess. It happens. Then you got your types that are experimenting and trying to make it work in a build.
-
It's common in live service games and DBD is no different than its other live serive counter parts in that regard. You have an ever-changing Meta over time and newer characters/perks/mechanics get released and those things usually breaks the game or changes the game around them. C'est la vie
