Please tell me where the figure of 10 times came from. You’re not just saying it without any basis, are you? In fact, the escape rate for survivors on North American servers is lower than in Asia. According to the theory above, this would mean that survivors in North America are ten times worse than those in Asia. Is that what you mean?
Shouldn't you be at practice working on gen defense and macro gameplay? Also Dissolution is good for chase, try it out sometime.

I believe the anti-cheat only exists to annoy the end user. It doesn't work against the actual bad guys like its supposed to. Like, I can't even boot up the game on PC without having to delete my EAC files or else it wont even load. Literally the most active I've seen anti-cheat.

Nah they're still weening on 4-gen regression, aura, and everything else on the Weenie Hut Jr menu but Dissolution. That's alright they can stay sleeping on Diss. You gotta have some hair on your chest to use that perk. When I put it on it means I'm looking for all the smoke.

Don't you know that the administration announced they will be readjusting the maps again soon? In the recent update, the number of maps hasn't decreased, so the environment remains tough for walking killers. Please stop speaking as if the North American server, where generators aren't prioritized and people constantly go off on detours, is the standard.

I have no idea what the eastern players are like other what little I've heard from Hens when he went to Korea. Few things he noticed was that they hardly use any anti tunnel perks cause they found the best way to not go down is just get good at looping.
It's not just DBD pick any game out there and you'll almost always find that the Asians will be more skilled than the western players. They really put in the effort to hone their skills while we don't really try to improve and complain all the time.
Even our weakest NA players are 10x better than whatever the East has to offer. Sounds like a skill issue from what I'm gathering in this thread.

I play almost every single killer into p100 lobbies. Save from hag, trapper, skull merchant and the DLC killers that I couldn't bother… And I can easily say that in higher lobbies I do better with Oni, wich has MUCH MORE snowball potential than the Ghoul that, at the end of the day, is a Legion with better mobility.
You guys cry way too much here, but calling a killer "low-skilled" is easier than owning up your unwillingness to learn how to play the game.Isn't this you crying in a post? Pot, meet kettle.
-
@Just_a_Normal_Guy said:
I just love how this forum is low-skill biassed. If you play ghoul against ANY p100 survivor who knows the game he can be as weak as wraith. If you play against medium to low skilled survivors It will be a mess.
I've never seen a high-tier killer that depends so much on the level of survivor you face.
Nurse and Blight? Unless you're playing against a comp team, you can win 90% of your games, even against a fully stacked lobby.
Ghoul? If there is ONE survivor who knows how to play against him, he'll have a really hard time.
You guys just need to learn killer's powers and weakness and stop being such crybabies.
Or don't idc, if you guys want to be facing blights and nurses every match 'cause every killer that BHVR puts in the game needs to be nerfed to the ground for your "fun", I guess ya'll get what you deserve…
If you play Ghoul, calling people low-skilled should be the last thing coming out your mouth. Or do Ghoul players just not get irony?

The number of pallets is not the problem. Its how bad the loops has become. The sides of the loops are too short to be meaningful, and god awful to play as survivor now.
Just look at the underside of the dock on the swamp maps, and do a before/after comparison. It is absolutely a death sentence for survivors to try and loop there now, since no windows or pallets are remotely safe anymore.
The only decent loops that are left are the ones near the shack, and the shack itself. That gives you a total of 3-4 decent pallets, and 12-13 unsafe and bad ones. The swamp maps never had any true god-pallets either, and were rather limited with window vaults. Right now, those maps are almost as bad to play as pre-density Haddonfield, Borgo and Rancid Abattoir.
And yes, Family Residence is also just as bad as the swamp. It is so RNG dependant to get a seed that actually spawns pallets in the middle between the house and the shack side.I never said anything about the number of pallets in either of my posts? The quality still feels okay. Sure, there's a couple noticeably bad offenders like Swamp and Crotus, but again across most it still feels okay and manageable on both sides, even Yamaoka. Guarantee with a few tweaks (which they have an announcement for already planned) it'll be smooth as butter and all these complaints will magically disappear in time for ST2 release.

Like that swamp pallet connect to one rock lmao. But people are acting like that was intentional and wouldn't get fixed lol.
Exactly. I expected to see more like that, but so far it's been pretty normal.
-
@WoodenFox said:
The pallet changes are actually totally fine honestly besides that one swamp pallet. Pre pallet density is wa an average of 14-15 pallets per map. Post pallet density it went to 18-19. Then after the most recent changes it went down to about 16-17. So still better than before.
I agree. I don't think it's as bad as people are saying. Yea, there are a few egregious ones that have been documented and will be fixed soon i'm sure, but overall i'd say the changes put them in a pretty good spot.

I thought the whole point of the PTB was to test out changes and decide if those changes will be rolled over to the live servers?
First the devs massively nerfed M1 killers with ‘pallet density update’, a patch disguised as “quality of life” but was really a nerf to already weak killers
And now they’ve massively nerfed survivor with the new changes, making a lot of loops incredibly short and unsafe
My question is why? Why not just revert the initial change? And why wasn’t any of it tested in the PTB first? We could have avoided this entire headache if the PTB was actually utilised and the devs could have seen that neither pallet density change worked
A quality of life change, at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country localized entirely within BHVR's PTB?

Pretty sure killer mains were unhappy about the anti tunneling changes, not the compensation buffs. Especially the fact that some changes were abusable in certain situations. That's what I gathered from all the complaints. Never had to do with the compensation buffs. If anything, the compensation buffs simply weren't enough for how hard tunneling was supposed to be nerfed.
I for one would have wished they would have gone through with all the anti-tunneling changes and would have simply increased the compensation buffs to killers instead.
But now, with pallet density being way overbuffed, and all the changes from the 9.3.0 ptb, killers will need compensation buffs as well. And the pallet density will need to be decreased a bit on some maps again, because some maps have too many pallets now.
Unless of course people are looking forward to long ass survivor queue times.
I share a similar sentiment in wishing they would have gone through and just adjusted accordingly. In my perspective, the community pushback included the compensation buffs since they both go hand-in-hand towards balancing. I'm sure we'll have a better picture of the update tomorrow and BHVR's solution it seems, so somethings we'll just have to wait and see. I expect surv queue times will remain the same overall regardless of what they do and the world will keep spinning.

So wait, do you think killers shouldn't be getting any compensation buffs for all the buffs that survivor are getting, plus the pallet desnity update which was a big buff for survivors?
Wait, killers complained about all those big juicy compensation buffs that were being introduced in 9.2.0 and how they didn't want the changes. Now they want the full compensation after seeing most of those changes scrapped? After organized review bombings and childish tantrums all over Twitter, Discord, YT, and many other DBD social platform about the previous compensation?
-
Typical sane killer. You run into them every now and again and their ego could fill an airport.

I think the majority who say this line are all talk. They just want to feel heard or vent their frustration and never had any real intentions to leave. Even if BHVR never released another fix they'd complain but still find reasons to play.

Being able to change killer at any point
I remember when I first started playing you could when you ready up and in a lobby you could then poof you no longer could. I thought it was a bug but then nope you couldn't permanently. I would want to have the ability to change killer since maybe I wanna change to someone else since I wasn't feeling the killer I picked but don't want to back out of a lobby for no reason other then thaf.
I remember those days and wish for the feature to return one day soon. I actually made a post a few years ago to bring attention to this matter. I believe they were foolish to remove it in the first place, and imo it has heavily impacted killer QoL not being able to switch killer in lobby ever since then. Just another reason why those early days were some of the best times to play the real DBD, and not whatever butchered mess we have these days.

I don't necessarily think, gen speed is too fast.
It is the circumstances which are a bit unfortunate in this game mode which then make it feel bad or worse than it is on average.
- If you want to play killer - especially without a duo - you wait ages to get into a game.
- And then, when the game is one of those where the killers get stomped (due to whatever reason), it just feels bad. Because the thought is "And I waited 30 minutes including playing two survivor games for THIS?!"
Maybe a solution to dampen this issue a bit is not the gen speed itself but maybe the spawn logic of survivors. Very often you just spawn in and can instantly jump on a gen with two or even three others.
Just put more killers into the mode with good mobility and anti-loop. Simply opening up the roster would do wonders for a lot of the gen problems.

It still doesn't change the fact that the killer role has only lost content. First they lost the unique killer coop powers from the first 2v8. Then out of the 4 classes, Shadow was the most fun one and it got nerfed. And finally they removed a killer from the roster. All this while giving survivor the strongest tools they ever got in any game mode like mid chase healing or rebuilding pallets.
And as all of that was happening, queue times never got better. Its been a whole year since 2v8 v2. Making killer miserable won't help queue times as clearly shown from the lackluster updates.Agreed. Well written.
It's pretty insulting imo, the fact devs are now removing killers from the mode after constant nerfs. The elephant in the room being that Legion provided the best slowdown and most consistent gen pressure was removed with no compensation, and a negligible effect on queue times. I'm not quite sure what to call that, but it probably isn't good. Maybe I'm mistaken though and killers were only supposed to be grateful to have the opportunity play with another killer.
I think recent decisions show they are operating without an actual plan for balance, which is even more egregious. It's the equivalent of them shooting wildly in the dark, hoping to hit anything that will help reduce queue times. It's not working; it's time for a new approach. Even when the balance is tilted in surv favor for 2v8, the classes give them super powers, and it still isn't enough to bring the wait times down. And yet again its still somehow the killer's fault so they get punished and their fun stuff taken away in a game mode that is supposed to have broken things on both sides and be silly.
Here's an anecdote. My buddy and I were playing a round of PH and Neme yesterday, and even with the best start it still came down to the last gen. Felt like we had to sprint the entire game and always be in chase, try to keep chases as short as possible, and immediately start new ones after hooking, and there was absolutely no room to miss your power it felt like. It felt like we had to be near perfect in so many different areas and even with that strong performance, it came down to every second counting. Who likes waiting 20-30 minutes in queue for a match that lasts 5 to 7 minutes?
-
AFAIK The unhooker just needs to crouch before saving, like hag traps.
-
Just so I've got this updated correctly for the list.
"Keykyntak's Killers You Aren't Allowed to Play in 2v8"
1.Legion
2. Oni
Reason:
Rocks and trees can't be used against them
They are allowed to use their power
They don't require skill
They are better than Trapper and other killers where I can get EZ wins
-
Let me remind you: for MOST OF THE MATCH, he is in an ability that makes him monstrously mobile and deadly, it's a constant one-shot with the ability to turn literally ANYWHERE, no closed map, no trees/rocks can stop himSo, in your own words, @KEYKYNTAK doesn't want us to play Oni because they can't use trees or rocks to stop him from using his ability?
Well no wonder you're struggling so hard against him. Use a pallet instead, a window, or a locker if there's no other options. There are plenty of these around.

I'm not concerned about who you play as, but rather that Oni, as a killer, should have been removed from the 2 vs. 8 mode along with Legion, but for some reason this did not happen.
Please at least read the thread for the sake of propriety before venting your anger in the comments.
Just so I've got this down correct, so far @KEYKYNTAK's list of Killers "You Aren't Allowed to Play"

2. Oni
Any others we shouldn't play to avoid upsetting your delicate sensibilities?

That's actually better that those messages are contained and dealt with by MS and Sony on their own respective platforms since they will ban any type of private chat harassment. They're much, much more strict in issuing suspensions/bans for infractions of the rules than BHVR in that regard, and ragers will lose far more greater in that respect than just access to DBD account & multiplayer functions when it's coming from the big dogs themselves.

Don't you think that players who choose Oni take the game too seriously?
After all, their choice is obviously a winning one, and to do it, you don't need any skill, just a LOT of weight and kills. MONSTROUS mobility + one-shot + constant highlighting of survivors' auras makes playing as Oni TOO EASY and unbearable for survivors.
Well, it's not serious, he has a VERY EFFECTIVE ability that is available for most of the match.
I'm sorry, since when is who I play as killer your business or concern? Last time I checked, it didn't matter which killer someone personally chooses to play. Or should we just be playing off of @KEYKYNTAK's approved list of 2v8 killers?
-
I agree that the devs should remove it. It would improve killer QoL not having to deal with SB on-demand 24/7. It was just not made for this game mode cause its too strong in coordination with the other effects and guarantees survs make it to a safe tile. They should also take a look at other classes because having to break a rebuilt shack pallet for the 80th time gets old pretty quick.

You're actually wrong. Survivors were extremely buffed in version 2, queues didn't change. Legion got removed queues didn't change. Survivor is not interesting to play because there's not much to do, not because they need buffing.
Wait, you're telling me Queue times aren't back to normal after removing the "Legion problem"
-
I feel like it's pretty insulting to remove Legion (who's Konami skins are discounted in-store atm btw) and one half of their replacements feels awful in the mode and receieved little-to-no changes to their power. Not to mention half of their power is made redundant because cages are already in the mode.
Dracula is also mid in this mode because they gave him useless buffs like increasing max teleport range when the maps are small enough he could get around fine with just his base-kit range. Instead of buffing that they should have buffed wolf mode more and definitely more buffs to vampire form. You're basically stuck just playing a poor man's Wesker with a teleport but no shades.

Seems a bit of a flippant response...
So if I were to respond in kind I would patronisingly point out how distance = speed × time, but the maths shows that isnt a big issue at all really, so it would be a fake point to make.
You don't strike me as a Pig main… if you are I apologise, but if you aren't, and for anyone who also isn't a Pig main, let me explain my thought processes.
The raw speed isn't really the issue in of itself, it's the fact there is no need to fear the Pig as you make your way to a Pig Box off hook...
To breakdown some Pig thoughts and strategy, Pig doesn't typically get to go very far from hook before an unhook is made, if she doesn't find someone fast after hooking, her weak mobility tends to mean she is better heading back to hook.
Now Pig is unique in that her built in mechanics don't necessarily benefit her to tunnel off hook, the timer pauses if she starts chase with that Survivor, so she is not gaining value from her RBTs while doing so, she has a non tunnel incentive built in to her kit. What she wants is that Survivor not to be healed and off doing their boxes. This gives her chances to see which way the Survivor goes and look to intercept that Survivor later if she finds herself in roughly the right area of map. So returning to hook to chase the unhooker is a good move a lot of the time for Pig.
The thing is, by doing this, you are also putting the threat you might tunnel there as well, especially if a Survivor makes it easy for you... you are Pig, you want any advantage you can get. So in the event the unhooked Survivor doesn't make it free, they do have to fear you and try to evade you. This means they will path/hide suboptimally, and waste crucial time on their RBT that assists in mounting her pressure. The more time this wastes, the more pressure the Survivor is under to do their boxes, preventing them from assisting in key moments, such as going for hook saves and alike.
With the anti-tunnel changes however, the Survivor has no grunts of pain, no scratch marks, no pools of blood, can see the Pig's aura, has 10% Haste, they can far more easily slip away from the hook unseen by the Pig, or even if they are seen, with little she is worth doing about it... they reach the box at a much higher pace than normal, effectively remaining more or less completely unhindered no matter what threats the Pig might pose...
This is what is what greatly hinders her box pressure, there is effective no reason not to beeline straight for the box, you're completely safe doing so.
Exactly, and that's not even taking into account items like syringe and how they are now doubling the distance, which completely imbalances the formula's balance. If distance = speed x time and now survs not only have these carry over longer, but can effectively bring in items to double that distance then the RBT's lethality and effectiveness are being severely impacted by these changes. Simple as. Heads up post as usual, @UndeddJester.
-
I'll read this more in detail later. Just skimming it sounds like an interesting rework concept.
-
I agree simply out of frustration for the current state of it. At one time, I would have argued otherwise, but over the years it's lost so much that it's become boring, outdated, and a shell of itself after suffering a death by a thousand cuts. It needs a deep rework. Make the bloodweb great again.

Probably to present a consistent model.
She doesn't hold traps in-game.
Not saying it couldn't return at some point as an idle-lobby animation, but in terms of giving visual clarity to the player of what their character model looks like to other players, it makes sense.
I do not believe this is the reason. If so, then why not come out and say this directly rather than no news or new updates for over a year? As OP brought up too, if this was the case then why not remove Chucky's chair and Sadako's lobby animations as well? Pig is not the only one in this regard. This whole situation reeks.
