Lately I’ve found I can’t play this game anymore. I’ve just lost all interest in it and can’t bring myself to find any more joy. I don’t know how long I’m going to not be playing for but this is a (hopefully) temporary goodbye
Sometimes a break is all that is needed. Def been there before. Hope to still see you around the forums @totallynotamegmain

I can still aim well with ps4 controller, but it's still noticeably so choppy and not as fluid as it used to be before they updated flashlights a gazillion times. Maybe they could put reticles on flashlights to make it easier to aim the thing and know where it's pointing. 😀

It is once again Thanksgiving here in NA. While the family is over and turkey is getting baked in the oven, I will be sitting here, wishing to get baked in the garage.
Happy Turkey Day y'all.

Blindness is misunderstood for just how much it can actually do. Anyone can take a look and guess some things it does, but i'll include a list of just some other ways you probably haven't thought about and how to get value from blindness.
- Survivors won't be able to see slugged or hooked survivors, though they do see the initial alert of where they're hooked.
- Perks like Kindred or Fogwise on survivors, as well as perks on killer like Rancor, won't reveal your position.
- Perks like Clairvoyance and Detective's Hunch won't reveal your totems, making them slightly harder to find.
- Perks like Bond and Empathy won't work until blindness is removed, making it harder for survivors to find each other.
- Perks like Deja Vu won't reveal gens, even though it gives the survivor a bonus to repair speed.
- Perks like WoO don't reveal window ledges or pallets
- Perks like Trails of Torment, which make you undetectable until survivors touch the revealed gen, won't be revealed.
- Staple in just about any slug build
-
We have different reference materials. I was thinking more CvS 2. The newer games he twists more and he is not as extended straight out and stiff-looking visually (giggity). Chun-Li works too 😁.

I actually haven’t and I think it’s not really reasonable. Killer players would not be happy with removal of pre game lobbies.
but I think it is most important to display the ping the same way for killer and survivors during the match the way it is currently only for survivors when in the menu/esc
for me it’s not about dodging but having same treatment for both sides and being able to see what causes certain issues to not jump to possibly false conclusions.
I am inclined to agree. You would think it would be as straight forward as tweaking the original code that allowed everyone to see ping during p2p days or possibly integrating some setting from server side.
Would you be open to the idea of ping limits.

yeah. Have asked for this for years now.
i guess since survivors can hide their names/profiles now, it’s not necessary to show the killers name/profile anymore but yes, ping is needed.

Why would they get rid of lobbies?
Just a passing thought. Surely you've seen the rhetoric on why lobbies should be removed before?
Well, say they actually did get rid of the match lobby. How would either side be able to see ping without being in-game to check?
-
I agree.
Food for thought. If they ever got rid of lobbies, how would you be able to see the killer's ping?

I liked it. Used it on some of my builds, didn't mind going against it as killer.
Oh... jeez, that is a lot of posts. Talk about wasting time, eh?
8k? Jeez. I didn't know there was that much about Freddy to post about 😋😘
I used it a handful of times trying to like it enough to place it in my main lineup, but no such luck. I didn't mind it either, but every day I'm reminded those days certainly weren't for everyone.

Please…enlighten me on your playstyle with pyramid head
What do you want to know exactly?
PH I like to run an even balance between information perks and gen defense perks. I'm not a stealthy Pyramid Head. Some people like ToT and playing sneaky, but my style is mainly it's just dropping trails in various locations and using PoTD until everyone dies. Leave your trails at pallets, grassy spots, and windows so that you can pretty much have survivors tormented a majority of the time, this allows you to use your cages whenever you need to (more pressure, or mori). Generally, never break pallets unless it's god pallets or super super safe pallets (you can probably think of a few that fit this). Kinda like Trapper because many pallets guarantee Pyramid Head a hit with his PotD attack.
I use PoTD a lot, especially around tight loops if it can clear it well enough, and blind spots if I know where the check spot is or get lucky (maybe some skill) enough to predict their movement. This is where I'm All Ears shines, and it's really satisfying and fun hitting survivors through a wall ;). Also, PoTD cancels, which is a strong mind game when ur closing the gap at a pallet. Don't use PotD attack out in the open, it's super easy to avoid and most time any experienced surv will make you look foolish paying for it.
If you want to know about cages, it really depends on certain criteria, and I use SH:PR/DMS combo in a lot of my builds with him I'll just go for hook unless it meets that criteria for caging. If I'm going to hook, might as well kick gen too while I'm there.
Another perk combo that you probably won't hear from anyone else on here but me is Thrilling Tremors + PGTW. This combo is slept on but it's actually a solid information/gen regression pairing on him.
-
As others have said, it's doable on PH. I use it in one of my builds currently on him with NWTH, Corrupt and I'm All Ears in the flex slot. You can make it work, but how much you use it will vary from game to game. If it were in the flex slot and I had to change it, I'd look at swapping to Deadlock, DMS, SH:PR, and even Jolt
-
Probably the Knight. There's just a lot going on usually in those matches with him and his goons. Love using his yellow and brown add-on combo when I play him, but hate facing it lol.
-
Imagine Knight with a Havel the Rock outfit and Dragon Tooth as his great hammer.

Well, there you have it, right? On release, DS was a strong offensive perk, leagues stronger than UW. Then they changed it to post-unhook, and it was still leagues stronger than UW, and very easy to weaponise. It wasn't until the Conspicuous Actions change that the perk was finally balanced.
As for the last part, I don't know why people keep talking about the uptime on Ultimate Weapon. It doesn't have permanent uptime, and a single scream per survivor every thirty to sixty seconds is... hardly proof it's OP on paper. It's very strong if you're a good killer and you're good in chase, but those two things are completely independent of the perk itself. It's not an aura, it doesn't give an actual advantage to chasing or downing survivors, it just gives you a spot to start looking.
I wouldn't even go that far. It was strong, but not p2w strong. More like Pay-to-hope-and-pray-I-have-a-chance-at-surviving-1-gen-cause-tunneling-is-even-easier-at-this-point-in-time. Once per match and just equipping it by no means give you this great advantage and higher probability for success to escape (or track and get kills in UW case which it does very well). A little spicy feet and some luck maybe skill to waste time, but also Unnerving Presence and Enduring were both strong shut-it-down perks for DS. Can't DS when you miss 1 skill check? Or just a well-timed 3 dribbles and a hook if you were savvy enough, and you didn't even need a perk for that. Hardly p2w if it's not letting me use it all game long and offers an array of different options to counter it. Even comparing across eras UW is still the better perk.
Also it literally has blindness in the perk? That doesn't give an advantage in chase if you pick one up near by? Information denial? Where it's happening at for comm callouts, killer location, where the down is, what resources are available if there is a pallet immediately there? Hello, WoO???

Were you not around for old DS or something? Hell, I wasn't around for old STBFL and I know how busted it was.
I was and at its core on release, it was a strong offensive perk, but at least that led to the wise decision somewhere down to line to tie it to once per trial, there was some risk on when to best use it and immediate skill check means you won't always get value if you miss time/ stutter/ frame drop. STBFL imo was fine, it was strong on certain killers granted, but you still had to work for your tokens and most of the time to get the full value and ime that meant outside just bad survs it was not until mid-game you got to really put your foot on the gas pedal. Competing with such perks at the time of BBQ, Nurses, Ruin, TOTH, NOED, Tinkerer, Bitter murmur, whispers, dying light.
UW has benefited from the power creep since that time. Benefit from different design approaches devs have taken to perks. You can have up all match long with nothing tying it down. I can get so much uptime on a perk with little effort because the CD is done by the time I've hooked a Surv. I say look i'll use this tool you're going to give me, but come let's call a spade a spade here.

DS, OoO and STBFL all were meta when they first released and all of them were stronger than UW
😂. Okay Huxy, let's get you to bed.
-
🤣😂 Which one are you saying is p2w, i'm curious, STBFL? OoO? DS? This is literally one of, if not the strongest info/blind perk released. Even at their strongest, none of those perks got the insane value like UW. I can scratch my butt all game and have it carry me on any killer I play. No need to 🧢, it's over; the secret is out.

the only way UW would be pay-to-win was if it was part of the meta or meta-defining, which it isn’t. It’s not even in the top 10 most used Killer Perks if Nightlight Perk stats are to go by (which are far more reliable than kill rates)
Meta has absolutely nothing to do with it being pay-to-win. Pay-to-win means you are paying real money to have an advantage. UW is a huge advantage, especially with how it combos with perks already mentioned in this thread. Go ahead, and look up any definition of pay-to-win. Lmk when you find one that has anything to do with meta. 🤣😂☠️.
-
It's a pay-to-win perk. What more is there to say?

What compels me to stick with the Pig, though?
Honestly, probably very little to nothing if you want to play competitively. Still an S-tier meme machine, but until they give Pig the huge QoL update that she desperately needs, it doesn't matter much. Boops and the chance for head pops are what come to mind. That and she does play a mean game of "Who's the #########" with Iri Tape + Rule #2. Other than that, might as well play Chucky.
-
Depends on how you define cheating I guess. Unfair advantage? Technically, yes. Skill Crutch? Absolutely. If you are worried about being banned (which I highly doubt would happen) then contact BHVR to confirm and see what programs are whitelisted for their EAC.

-
All I know is that whoever is carpooling with me is in for a great time in my ride. It'll be litty 😎.
-
Little to none. Killers tend to avoid high prestige in my experience when evaluating risk vs reward chasing p100s. Similar to what @I_CAME said, I see killers dropping chase or not even pursuing if they think players are going to be good enough to eat into their time. Heck, I notice that even openly challenging killers with the slightest of moxie in my old bloody p3 Quentin outfit will have them double-thinking if they want to chase me, especially around strong tiles.

How did I forget about the huge maps? Totally agree. It can be so punishing to play on these maps with a poor mobility Killer. Lately it seems like BHVR have realised this, so the issue should improve a little with any future maps / reworks.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3582345#Comment_3582345
I think it's mostly fine too (outside of the events, anyway). It's better than it was, though a couple of maps here and there are still bad.
But Haunted by Daylight was a pretty rough experience all round.
My exaggerations aside, I think a fairer take i'd give on that topic would be fine to play, for the most part, but underperforming compared to console counterparts and PC and (arguably) harder to be competitive against cross-console matchups.
-
I think it is genuinely unfair to players that we don't have separate queues or game modes yet
I think designing killers for certain peripheral inputs like on PC but not controller is unfair
The most unfair thing to me is the poor optimization across consoles, especially for users of a platform like Switch. I would classify Switch treatment as being a step away from cruel and unusual punishment

true dat. Definitely more ish to wade through getting started and imo Shrine is not as generous.
