I think its fine. It should be consistent across both types of pallet stuns.
-
I dont think it will influence that perk at all. Bt will be the most often case thatll come into play, and most killers already breathe down survs necks if they truly want to tunnel off hook.

Eh. Remove conditional add ons (like his prenerf version) and I am A. O. K. with his current state. His base kit if fine and as a reminder, his overheat mechanic was implemented with the overall map nerfs they were doing at that time. Smaller maps with unlimited mobility did seem like a troublesome issue.
Sure but other killers like blight and nurse still have practically unlimited movement and giving billy that advantage isnt broken imo.
Hia addons need an overhaul, thats true, but i think instasaw prenerf was pretty ridicoulous if thats what youre alluding to.

Remove Overheat, and Hillbilly is in the exact same position that he was in before you started.
It's not a good mechanic, but it's not a good mechanic because it makes basically zero difference unless you're holding the chainsaw up for a ridiculous amount of time or using it to get around Red Forest without actually stopping to chase. Overheat is not why Hillbilly got shoved down the tierlist, that just happened at the same time.
I'm not defending Overheat, to be clear. I wouldn't really care if it got removed (though I'd note in passing it's kind of a waste of resources), I just don't think it'd fix anything to do so.
I thought the exact same before i started really throwing myself at billy. It makes my games a lot more frustrating than they need to be and i think that it does remove some of what billy can go for. Its removal would allow him to go for a few more curves without getting smacked in the face with a 15 sec cd.
Also as @aneurysm mentioned, its simply an unnecessary annoying factor and a turnoff for a bunch of people.

I started this game as a billy main. Havent touched him in years and even though I still play more killer than survivor I'm not looking forward to relearning him all over again
I have never had as much fun in this game as ive had playing billy. The only thing i despise currently is overheat whixh is designed to not let you spam your power which is already difficult to use. I've just now made a thread about it.
-
Dont use map offerings unless you want to pracc
*more of a gentlemans rule ig

Its fine if youre a billy main ig, but reading some comments here makes me remember the entire learning process over again. Gl!

I just want overheat gone man. Sure instasaw was annoying as hell but cmon "spamming your chainsaw" is genuinely impressive if somebody does it and actually manages to win.

Where do i start? So firstly spirit skill floor has raised dramtically since survivors now can read her audio distance is a 115 killer who had her power recharge nerfed. Oni got screwed by coh and medkit meta. Hag appeals is narrow and often one flashlight away from being misrable to play. Huntress is a ranged killer who has been getting shadow nerfed by the increase of indoor maps maoe her power near useless.
Billy got gutted and still hasnt recovered, slinger is utter trash now, twins got nerfed for some reason. Oh and the general playerbase has dropped considerably. People like variety but apprently nerfing killer is how people want to get it. Which will have the opposite effect of driving players away. Buff your killers and stop nerfing every damn killer that people like playing. It leaves an awful taste in every players mouth and they wont move onto another killer they will leave your game.
Blight is the standard for which all killers should be! Map pressure, a low skill floor power with an amazingly high skill celling, nuanced techniques.
Yeah ik, its likely due to the permanent buffs, right?
spirit skill ceiling was raised, youre right about that, but i wouldnt say dramatically.

I'm sorry, I play Trapper, Freddy, Plague, Billy, Pinhead, Hag and Twins and have dabbled a lot with Huntress and Blight.
Blight is most similar to Billy and Nurse and both of those Killers require way more skill than Blight does. Blight is easy to pick up and use right out of the box and is very effective without add-ons.
Don't get me wrong, Blight is very fun to play as. But come-on: Tinkerer, Ruin and Undying makes the game a cake walk.
I primarily main billy, although i do enjoy blight, nemo, huntress and nurse (rip) every now and then. I think youre right when you say that there are killers with harder micros, but, as i was saying earlier, calling him easy is a disgrace to a lot of other killers.
He may be easy to pick up, unlike billy and nurse, but even easier to pick up is also Huntress. But those are some of the most mechanically challenging killers.
Micros easier than blights micro are all of the following:
- trapper
- wraith
- myers
- ghostface
- legion
- pig
- freddy
- cannibal
- spirit
- oni
- nemi
- demo
- doctor
- clown
IMO also, but less clearly:
- hag
- executioner
- artist
- deathslinger
- trickster
- plague
The only micros i consider to be harder are:
- billy
- nurse
- huntress (not sure abt that one tho)
- pinhead
Not to say that these killers arent difficult in their own right, plague and trapper for example have much harder macros, but blights micro is certainly one of the top most difficult ones.
And while i agree that backrevving is more difficult, blight gives you a speed boost and as long as he doesnt have alchemists ring, he cant punish you hard at all. He can punish you the same as most other killers: a free health state that is fixed with coh unless he gives you a chase with it.

2 of those need skill and a LOT of practice. And hag and oni are just uninteresting. It's really not that surprising
I can agree that Huntress needs more skill, but blight needs a lot more practice than spirit. Also oni uninteresting? Sure the beginning m1 chase is unfun but as long as you manage your blood well speeding through the map is fun as hell.

Blight isn't fun for both parties. He's a low skill killer that gets to down you the second you leave a loop. And heaven forbid you are in a dead-zone.
He basically an much easier Nurse but with about 95% of the downing potential.
Have you ever played blight yourself? Sure he doesnt get punished as hard as billy or nurse for a mistake, but calling him easy when id say around 60% of all other killers have easier micro is ridicoulous. The only thing easier about him is map traversal.
And when i play surv i enjoy blight simply bc of the way he rewards you when staying at a loop instead of W.exe.
And he doesnt punish dead zones nearly as hard as bubba, billy, trickster, plague, huntress, or myers who just gets endless value.

Maybe people should stop asking for killers to be nerfed and feel miserable then. So what you're left with out of a roster of 20 + killers. Is only 3-4 that actually feel good to use.
Id say i agree but spirit, hag, oni and huntresses also somehow vanished. I get it blight is fun as hell for both parties, but i think its simply due to his permanent buffs.

-
You get crows because you are actively sabotaging other survs and helping the killer by hiding for no reason. The killer is advancing the game when camping and you need to learn how to combat tunneling and camping, thats what dbd comes down to in the end at a high level.

They don't have the numbers for those perks LOL... Just saying
But yea most of the community sees certain perks as weak and useless
The Devs are thinking months in advance so issues with certain perks aren't answered for the longest time... AKA the balance team don't have long to try and "fix" certain things in the game
And they won't touch the base game... which is the reason some of these perks exist in the first place
Yeah but we know they can pump out patches quickly by the way boil over was patched. Some number changes wont break the game, so theres no reason to not just reduce the cd of dance with me. Keep the hook sabotaged with breakdown for longer. Let exponential have a farther range, and poised to last for 30 sec not 10.
Now i agree with @Crowman that most of the perks wont improve since theyre bad at their roots, but atleast theyd become somewhat more useful.

I like the conceot of making heals easier. It results in more prot hits, more chases, but in the end it makes the pressure you get by injuring survs vanish.
I like @Firellius idea of making the perk have a cd during which you suffer from the exposed status effect. It would indirectly make vigil more useful too.

I was right in top of them at a rectangle loop and couldn't get the charge before they could make the corner.
The problem isn't the rarity I'm opinion it's that it's pretty much required for Victor to play alot of loops. There's no way it's effect should be higher then blowing at its stats. It one of the most used addons because the others are no good and not because the values are low but because the effects suck.
Is iri pendant atleast somewhat useful now? I dont play twins a lot so i cant judge.
-
@Steel_Eyed said:
Rounder loops are more difficult for Victor to hit at. My method is to ‘back rev’ survivors at loops like that.
And Toy Sword is a brown add on. They should probably just move that add on to Very Rare (purple) and drop Spinning Top to common.
In my view, Toy Sword should have it’s rarity massively increased or maybe nerfed further. Ideally killers should feel a need to use higher rarity add ons to play better. Not rely on browns.
Toy sword was used bc it was the only twins addon that actually did something. Right now nearly all twins addons are useless. Compare that to nurse or blight whose addons are almost all great and really useful.
-
So this is a venting channel? I like that.
I had a game with a mate of mime where it was already the endgame against a huntress. He looped her, but he eventually went down. During his looping i get a random off of a hook and 99 the exit gate. I run over to save my mate with bt but the huntress got in the middle and started chasing me. I looped here for maybe one minute two minutes? During which the random simply opens the gate and teabags at it, leaving my mate to just die.
-
I dont think its too abusable, most macro gp of tunneling relies on testing these perks and playing around them. Id like to have other perks like guardian compete with them to make it more interesting tho tbh.
@Restrixc said:
I personally wouldn't like to see DS or BT get nerfed end game persay, I do think the killer should get a lot more end game perks though. Other than like NOED and like some obscure perk I've never heard of. The killer lacks ways to punish survivors for not escaping fast enough. Maybe even give like a perk that prevents injured survivors (or freshly unhooked maybe) from escaping the trials while giving the survivors a boost in healing speed (to balance it out a lot better [Kinda like how Dying Light (Myers perk) balances itself])
There are a few perks outside of noed that come to my mind:
No way out
Is played in comp due to its strengh
Remember me
Not too strong but can be detrimental.
Bloodwarden
Punishes teabagging at the exit.
-
I enjoy most maps as surv, but as killer it just sucks to get hard countered by a map. Thats why i find it odd to have survs be able to pick a map.
I think they should allow killers to ban like 1-2 realms they despise so that oni doesnt need to suffer on the game, trapper can ban eyrie, billy doesnt have to see lerys or rpd, and myers doesnt have to stalk through corn.

@Saitamfed said:
I get it, NOED is pretty much an old perk that has a lot of hate but the way I see it, there are many times NOED can activate and doesn't mean that you're doing a bad job as a killer... i.e. slugging the third and fourth survivor, killing the fourth and closing the hatch, that makes NOED activates and you pretty much already won at that point. Question is. What's the big deal? The killer is playing with three perks for pretty much all the trial, except in late game and just if survivors decided not to do bones... So even if you reach late game, it doesn't mean it will activate. I can easily spot two or three bones in a single match, if I don't take them as a survivor it's my fault not the killers...
And the comments about rewarding bad killers... again, having NOED doesn't mean it will activate and if you're that bad of a killer, the most you can do is get 1K instead of 0K, now if you know the killer has NOED and is camping that surv, and you willingly decide to risk yourself even though you don't know where the hex is and by that, the killer downs and kills you... then I suppose you're getting salty because you didn't have your win. Basically, do it at your own risk... if you want to be altruistic then don't go crying because you didn't get the save. You knew the risks and you were willing to do it anyway.
Because everybody has that core memory of their 3rd ever surv game against a terrible wraith who managed to kill them at the end purely bc of noed. When everything settles, the only thing that remains is that mild discomfort ppl get when seeing that its in play.
On a more serious note i think its very inconsistent for both sides and can most likely be improved upon.

Do you have alright headphones?
Spirit + mother daughter ring + dried cherry blossoms
Im not sure whats most disgusting with the current spirit meta perkwise, but if you want to be nasty something like
No way out + noed + pain res + dms
Will suffice. although noed is maybe not the strongest, it is a saltmine.

so like i know people were freaking out about artist but if you face either a group of solos (low hanging fruit ik) or you have that one iri that hides the box then dms on pinhead is kinda insane. if a chain hunt starts (which you can kinda force either with the forever-hunt build or that box addon) then basically every survivor cant work on a gen until the box is done and then once dms runs it's course. combine it with ruin if you can keep it standing because they wont stick by the gen for the entire 45 seconds and you can get some serious value
Youre a genius, never thought of that.
@Brokenbones said:
I never actually thought about DMS + Chain hunt. I forgot that chains pull you off gens like that.
I guess the counterplay is having 1 survivor working on a gen and having a buddy tank the chains for them but coordinating that is a nightmare if you're not in a swf + it's likely not worth it
I dont think thats a reliable way to counter it, since there need to be 2 survs near echother 1 on a gen on not doing anything and if pinhead checks that gen with the chains he sees 2 and thats too much free pressure for him to be able to apply.
The counter (i think) is to stop working on a gen, that he noticed you working on earlier, the sec he picks someone up. Dms wont procc immeadietly and you can maybe work on it after he threw a chain on it/the box is gone.

But until the system changes you just have to accept that the most fun part as surv imo, is not valued.
-
1. RPD rebalancing please. I think most maps are... fine outside of that. Cowshed and midwich are also worth taking a look at.
2. Killer is fine, not perfect, but surv perks are getting really stale. And its not the players fault. You have to go out of your way to play a fun build instead of just ds dh bt ub part 445.
3. I think there are so many killers now that the game is getting a bit bloated. I would enjoy some reworks instead of a new killer, like for freddy.
4. Yes

@dbd900bach said:
Since Trickster has been talked about a little bit lately, I thought I'd give my own little input on what kind of rework he needs while keeping close to his knife throwing theme.
Disclaimer this isn't an original idea as I'm sure it's come up a lot but this is my take of someone else's take I guess...
Anywho we all know Trickster moves at a slow speed in order to compensate for a ranged ability. This ability comes in the form of throwing knives which Trickster can rapidly throw at survivors. It takes 6 knives to injure someone and 12 to down. This is surprisingly difficult and most of all it is extremely unfun for both sides, that being the killer who has a weak power and the survivors who have to deal with an unfun and sometimes unfair power.
I propose that Tricketers power be allowed to switch between various different knife throws, similar to clown switching between tonics.
These different styles would make up a unique playstyle that allowed Trickster to switch to whatever best suited the situation while allowing survivors a fair chance to counter while also keeping them on their toes about which style he's using. Not all the one's I list should be compacted together into one ability but just suggestions. Keep in mind though that this is only an idea and I have no clue if these would actually be useful or not so don't roast me too hard if something seems obviously dumb. I'm coming up with these as I go.
Trickster does keep his laceration meter and 6 knives to injure
Fan Blade - Trickster breifly charges a hand of 5 or 6 blades and throws them in a wide fan area.
Buck shot - As it sounds Trickster throws several knives at the same time in a shotgun kind of spread
Burst Throw - Thrickster throws three or four knives in rapid quick succession forming a straight line of sorts. If a survivor is holding W you can load their back with an immediate three knives.
Precision shot - Trickster can hold and charge a single knife and fire it like a huntress hatchet, the more it's charged, the faster and farther it goes
Rain Down - In exchange for half is knives, Trickster can cast them above a certain area so that knives can rain down
Shatter Shot - Trickster trades in 6 or 8 knives for a single knife that when it hits a surface, shatters into multiple knives that ricochet once
That's about all I can muster up right now but I'd love to hear other creative ideas though please try keep it within the realm of possibilities though you probably won't
To reiterate theses aren't all packed into one ability with 6 styles, just three or even two if you really wanted
Very interesting. Id love his normal knives + the burst throw, but id make it a hillbilly esque charge up were he moves slowly similar to a missed lunge while charging it. Maybe make the time to charge up 1 sec or so and let him 99 it.

It's a feature of the game and most killers, especially C/D tier, use it to attempt to win matches. For certain killers it is even a 'cool strategy' as directly stated by a developer regarding Bubba.
Yes it's annoying especially several soloq games in a row but is an anti-camp/tunnel provision really a priority? Yes it is annoying - and after? Be angry for a short time - click continue - and play your next match.
Nothing happened.
I even found a super niche technique to prevent it from ever bothering you; just don't get bothered by it.
Just as it is the killer's fault if they let teabagging or flashlight macros get to them, as the developers clearly say, it is your fault if you let camping get to you. By the way, unfortunately with regard to Bubba's mask the developers did not have the courage of their convictions (if they were fully consistent, they would've told the people who were sent racist messages that slurs are just words, and to get over it).
I enjoy the macro GP of camping/ tunneling someone in competitive, but that primarily comes due to bt and ds. Its always a gamble. Without those perks that give players an edge when that occurs it would be quite a bit more boring i think. What id love to happen is for several ways to combat c/t to pop up through different perks. It would be refreshing. Perks like kinship and for the people are great for that but i feel like i rarely see them.
Basement bubba is far less fun and that comes from the fact that as long as bubba doesnt make a significant mistake, there isnt really a way to punish let alone stop him camping. I find the sentiment that basement bubba is a "risky/fun" playstyle antithetical to all of what i mentioned above imo.

The only way I could see NOED being nerfed but still maintaining it's power is to have some sort of prerequisite. Make the killer earn it before it can activate, like someone mentioned earlier, get 8 hooks and earn a token for each hook. If the killer has 8 tokens by the time the gates activate, the hex is applied to a dull totem. This way, it rewards good play, and still acts as an endgame perk. Hook states =/= Hooks btw, every hook counts as one token, if a survivor progresses to 2nd stage or 3rd stage, the killer does not obtain additional tokens.
That would make noed close to useless. I think thats a change thats way too dramatic. One change to maybe make it more fair is let survs know the second the last gen is powered, but for compensation let it have 2 totems that need to be cleansed. that would make it a more consistent perk for all parties involved i think.

I'm making this because there's only ONE killer that I absolutely hate going against.
You could also mention one that is maybe a little too easy for you.
For me, it's Oni.
Every single time I see that it's an Oni, I feel like giving up immediately. I feel like for me personally he's just incredibly strong and very hard to go against. It usually is within the first 5 minutes that at-least two people being downed, or worse. Always ends up with me dying, usually first... Mostly because he's incredibly fast and on a general note I usually don't run exhaustion perks, mostly team helping ones. He's my least favorite killer BY FAR, and have actually disconnected as soon as I've found out it's an Oni before (hate to admit it, but I have done it a couple times)
I can't stand Oni. I don't hate any other killer as much as I hate him.
The others have something to play around outside of m1 but Freddy never fails to put me to sleep with his boring standard m1 chase without many macro decisions at all

Yeah the reason is because im Not Good lol ok than PLZ tell me what i can do when the Match Starts and 3 Gens Pop in 30 seconds and i just get 1 Hook? U cant do anything about it Gens are to fast if u play against sweaty SWF Teams
The reason for that is because you dont generate enough pressure from your first down to get survs off gens.
You job as killer is to get survivors off of gens just as much as it is the survs job to stop you from getting someone out of the game early. Thats why bt and ds are so strong even if theyre prohibitive in their use cases.
If your point is that killer is too weak for your avg match, watch otz' challenge vid, where he played without perks or addons and with 30s afk at the start. Iirc he got 4ks to 3ks mostly.
I also dislike the way you improve, since you dont get to pracc at all with killers and just get thrown into the deep end, but its still far more winnable tahn you think.

U winning a Chase? Nope Dead Hard is here ans the Survivor can easy get a Window or pallet he shouldnt get
U are playing Ruin to have some Gen pressure ? Nope in 7 out of 8 Matches its getting Destroyed instant in the first 20 seconds but hey Survivors can always use theee broken CoH Boon Totems
Most of the M1 Killers are unplayable because of the awful Map Designs
SBMM Working against Killers so if u are a Casual Killer and get a 4K the next Games u are Matches against sweaty high rank Survivors
DbD is losing alot Players because alot Killers players quiting the Game because playing Killer is so stressful Now and they arent Happy about SBMM, Dead Hard and CoH
PLZ BHVR finally do something and fix the Game
As frustrating as it is, the solution is to just play for a long while. Your macro gameplay is probably not too good. I can recommend scottjunds tutorial on that topic

Let's get straight to the point
Because coh is just... ridicoulus, even in its current state.
Outside of that i think its great and underrated, but far from broken or overpowered.
