  • You know, I hated SWF too, until like a year ago, I realized...

Why the hell does it matter? It's a video-game. Most of the time SWF are just people trying to have fun with their friends. Do some groups play extremely sweaty? Sure, but that doesn't mean we should just get rid of the option entirely. Some Killer's play extremely sweaty against obvious Solo Queue lobbies. Should we get rid of them too?

That's pretty much what I mean, yes. That and the lack of the bell are the only things that bug me.

The Oni part or the Wraith part, lol?

As a Wraith main, the lunge could definitely be toned down. I'd be fine with it being what it was before, that was good enough. I'm just glad they made him not so add-on dependent.

Coxcombed could also definitely use a look at (Though I still think All Seeing - Blood is now his strongest add-on) but I don't see it happening. BHVR tends to look at one killer then not touch them again for months.

  • Trickster is better than he was but he's nowhere near overpowered. He's likely one of the worst killers in the game. If you think Trickster is overpowered you must think Huntress and Plague are too, right? They do what he does but better.

Again, I have no idea why "Bhvr have been working ont his a while" have abything to do with the next killer, considering how Re 8 have FOR SURE more develpment time than the intire DBD Itself

What? I highly doubt Resident Evil 8 has been in development longer than DbD has existed. RE7 came out in 2017. Less than four years ago. RE8 development likely started around that time. Not before DbD came out officially.

  • 90 seconds is too much, but it should be upped to 60.

People are sleeping on how good Lucky Break is. Making a killer lose one early chase is still extremely powerful. People that can't see that just want to whine about everything.

Because of how much it's used, it's one of the first 'secret killer perks' new survivors are made aware of.

They're incredulous that a killer has found them in their secret hiding spot, and outraged that they got killed. So someone says "oh they probably had BBQ, it tells the killer where you are" and they place 100% of the blame on the perk.

I'm not gonna say the aura reading isn't useful-- It is. But there are so many perks that offer much more accurate and valuable information, but they are never complained about and I don't get it.

I remember when I first started playing, a Huntress found me with Whispers and I thought she was hacking.

  • Honestly, can someone explain this to me. Why is BBQ, a perk that has multiple counters more complained about the info perks that just don't? If you think BBQ is OP you by proxy have to think other perks are OP.

Surveillance has no counter. Literally. You cannot avoid it. You can only hope the killer is not looking at you when you start working on a gen.

Whispers has no counters, and it's really not that hard to use.

Nurses has no counter, other than avoid healing in the terror radius which is something you should do anyway. And you can't do that against stealth killers or killers with small TR.

Thrilling Tremors has far more accurate info on gens, but I guess its inherent cooldown of a minute makes it okay to survivors.

BBQ has multiple counters, has a set radius, and only activates if the killer is playing well and getting down. BBQ can be avoided, people just don't want to then complain it's overpowered.

They should just remove the rank system all together and just implement a background skillbased matchmaking because all Rank does is PISS people off. Just becomes a total bore fest when you get to rank 1...here's 1 depip from a bad game then 1 pip to rank 1 again, then let's reset you back to rank 9 because of a buggy rank reset which you're supposed to only go back 1 colour...but here is 30k bloodpoints for our inability to Rank Reset people that we've been doing for 5 years.

It's getting to the point with these devs that they really don't know what they're doing to run a live service game.

You mean like...the MMR/SBM they're working on right now?

  • Unless MMR was put in without telling us, no, this is not intended. You should've just gone to rank 5, I believe.

A fair argument. I can see the reason for giving killers resource management.

But because one has it, that doesn't mean all should.

Especially if one's power is not suited for resource management in the first place

I mean, I never said they should give it to everyone. I'm just pretty sure that's the reason. They have resource management to Bubba too.

  • Huntress already had resource management, which is what they gave to Billy.

Never thought about it like this, what Solo Queue buff would you propose? Groupless people get a small movement speed buff?... or a progression speed buff? Or where you thinking smaller, like less chance to depip or more bloodpoints?

No, nothing like that. The biggest solo queue buff would be a working matchmaking system for one, but all Solo Queue needs imo is more information at base.

Something like a ping system, or a simple wheel that can say "I'm being chased by the killer!" And things like that. A totem counter (not from a goddamn perk, thanks BHVR), maybe even symbol icons that can tell what a survivor is doing.

Changes to make tunnelling and camping more counterable or less desirable would also help solo queue massively. Keep in mind, none of these statements are originally mine, these have been floating around everywhere.

  • Honestly? Yeah, it is. Solo Survivor is a wasteland of death. This isn't an excuse to nerf killers, because there is already an issue with amount of killer players vs survivors. We really need to buff Solo Queue-- Then, if Killer's need a buff at that point do it, but I doubt they will be.

This game is nowhere as survivor-sided as it used to be.

Only inexperienced survivors go out of their way to avoid stepping on the trail inside a chase. In a simple loop, you can just lay a bit of trail on the pallet and proceed to follow the survivor. If they remain in the area, no matter if they throw the pallet early or not, they need to step on it.

It's not hard to inflict torment. The main issue with the ritual for me is that not all times I want to send someone away to the gulag.

Then all I get are inexperienced survivors. The survivors I get when playing PH will do anything to avoid Torment. Including just avoiding loops.

It should be "Hit 4 survivors with Punishment of the Damned"

Imagine if Demo's daily was "Hit 4 survivors after recently exiting a portal" I don't think I'd even bother.

    @Mooks said:

    I feel ya!

whenever I have that daily I pretty much throw the entire match to get it done.. they did change GFs daily according to feedback. Let’s hope they change this one to be more accessible as well :)

I played a lot of Ghostface back when his daily was "Stalk a survivor from a corner, do seven consecutive kickflips, and down a survivor" so I have no idea why PH's is still so difficult.

  • Janky hit boxes. That's literally it. It's also possible the prompts for the animation got ######### up and it snapped you to the trap. Or a mix of the two. It's just DbD being janky. What else is new?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I wouldn't say I count as "major" but I definitely wouldn't mind!

  • Smolface.

For those unaware, Smolface is when Ghostface uses both the fastest crouched movement speed add-ons and does nothing but crouch all game.

Accompanying it with PWYF makes it better, obviously.

  • If a killer is running all three of these together, they're probably not amazing at the game.

Pop and Ruin literally have anti-synergy, and Corrupt would force them to look for your Ruin.

One at a time aren't too hard to deal with, imo.

  • Tunnelling is it's own issue, but how are loops and pallets broken? I believe pallets were fixed this patch, (or at least I haven't had any issues) and I don't know what you mean by loops being broken.

The goal of a rework should be to get ALL killers to an equal level of power, so why not make them all A-tier to give them a chance against these pesky SWF groups?

Because Solo Queue exists and every single killer in the game can excel against Solo Queue.

Hell, I've exceled against those "Pesky SWF" as most of the killers you mentioned.

  • I'm of the opinion most people don't know how this game works. Once got accused of hacking because I moried without a mori.

I had Devour Hope. They didn't know what Devour Hope did.

  • I don't believe Wraith's buffs can count as a rework. They literally just buffed him.

Also, Leatherface and Doctor. Both these killers were made stronger than they were.

Clown is technically better, even if it's not the rework people wanted. The only real failure in my opinion is Hillbilly.

  • I'm not sure if he's "trash" tier, but I gotta agree with a lot of the others when I say Trapper.

  • The killers are the biggest game-changing additions ever brought into the game. Most of the time, they're the focus of the marketing. That changes a bit with the Twitter focus on Yun-Jin, but most of the time the focus is on the killer. Hell, a lot of the survivors don't show up in their own chapter trailers.

  • Imo, it's probably "Killer/Survivor mains" but meant in a clearly malicious sense.

  • You didn't even try with this one. I couldn't catch any kind of fish with this bait!

  • I believe it was stated they have no intention of looking at newer maps, at least not for a good bit.

I think it was in a QnA stream, but that might be wrong.

  • In my honest opinion, Solo Survivor. And not in the "let's give something that should be base to a perk!" Way.

@GoodBoyKaru knows what I'm talking about.

  • BBQ and Breakdown, sounds good. Deliverance still worries me. And for the survivor hooked during EGC, it theoretically could put a survivor deeper into the map when they were about to escape. That could be interesting, but I could see it being infuriating for the survivors. Or, a survivor gets hooked in away from a door and they get hook teleported to a door. That's just RNG, with no way to counter it. It's just getting lucky.

The biggest problem I'm finding is this idea completely removes any kind of pressure the killer could have with hooks. That pressure isn't always fun, but important in a game like this. It removes interaction and makes hooking almost a lose-lose. Hooking is good for pressure, this removes pressure completely. I think slugging would become way more prevalent in an mechanic like this, because killers have less incentive to hook them before. Hooking herds survivors where the killer wants.

Would this be more fun, at least for survivors? Probably. Solo Survivors definitely need love, but I think it's far from balanced in the initial idea. I'd be more inclined to have this be a punishment for hard camping (when other Survivors aren't already there, attempting an unhook.)

    That's just my opinion, anyways.

  • I like the idea on paper, but there's so much they'd have to change or refine that I doubt it'd ever work. Or that BHVR would ever seriously even attempt to implement it, since it goes against what they've already said on the matter. There's probably so much code focused around a mechanic as old as the hooks that changing them this drastically could ######### up a lot.

How would BBQ work? How would any other perks that focus on hooks work? Breakdown, Deliverance? This mechanic practically guarantees a safe unhook for every survivor. If a killer hooks someone during EGC and they're not on Deathhook, they lose. There is nothing they can do. And taking away the hook aura is a big loss of information for the killer.

As much as I hate camping, I don't think this is the way to address it. They just need to implement more risk to camping for the killer, and more ways for survivors to counter it at base. Not an overhaul of an old (if flawed) core game mechanic.

  • Because it's not a very effective anti-tunneling tool.

A killer who is actually tunnelling won't give a single ######### about a five second stun.

It definitely needed the nerf imo but I always wanted it's anti-tunnel buffed. The fear and free progression was Old DS's power, never the stun. Now the stun is all it has.

  • The devs don't work fast enough when it comes to bugs and existing content.

But hey, gotta pump out that new chapter every few months!

Bad optimization is also up there.

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

Yes, Wraith got a nice buff last patch. His speed addins were removed, he got a speed boost while cloaked, his post uncloak lunge was improved, and you can't see him past a certain distance when cloaked. For the first time as long as I can remember, the first killer I ever picked up is an actual threat now.

Just something to point out really quick, the Windstorm add-ons weren't removed, just adjusted to match his new speed. They are much weaker now, but they still exist.

  • Wraith was recently buffed. He's completely invisible past 20 meters and his post-uncloak boost lasts .25 seconds longer.

Mainly maps with pretty unsafe pallets like dead dawg midwich or lery’s. It can make him feel like a pig dash but better.

Not saying he’s OP but he is really good at shorter loops

To be fair, I feel like most killers can excel at short loops. Doc and Clown can completely shut them down, but yes, Wraith's super-lunge is incredible at short loops. Dead Dawg is just killer sided in general, imo.

  • @Phasmamain said:

It’s really weird to think but wraith actually feels too strong on some maps now. I wouldn’t call him OP but going from pretty much D tier to this is insane

Wraith was always this with the right add-ons. Out of pure curiousity, what maps are you talking about?

  • @MadLordJack said:

I don't see how Wraith is comparable to Freddy. Freddy was genuinely, ridiculously easy. His counteprlay consisted of predropping pallets and really hoping your teammates were doing gens. He could spam snares and fake teleports, synergised ridiculously with every slowdown perk, for free anti stealth, and put survivors to sleep passively.

Wraith is quick and has a pig-dash lunge. Woo. Can't do much about maze tiles, path pallets, larger loops, main buildings, etc. Has decent synergy with slowdown perks but actually has to give something up to use them since his basekit lacks tracking and only has a mediocre chase power. Is he easy? Yeah. But in a good way, like Blight. But without Blight's skill cap.

I don't get it either, I've just seen more complaining about him recently. I suppose it's because more people might be playing him in response to his buffs?

My main issue is current Wraith is barely different than old one, just with a freed add-on slot. If you think current Wraith is a problem, you thought old Wraith with Windstorm was a problem. The only difference is the buffed lunge and complete invisibility past 20 (at least I think it's 20) meters. The buffed lunge is strong, but the complete invisibility doesn't do much. Especially when he still breaths like a congested 80 year old smoker.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"I can easily admit that All-Seeing Blood (which imo is much stronger than All-Seeing Spirit) and Coxcombed clapper need looked at now. Especially when paired with the right builds, or The Ghost (which is stupidly powerful for a brown add-on). Same with Bone being only Yellow. I also think he may need a general add-on pass as a lot of his add-ons are just bad when compared to others, which forces uses of the stronger ones."

Maybe this is the case while some people complain about Wraith now. I have not had that much of a problem so far with Wraith, but I have not seen that many since his Buff.

However, if we consider that he does not need Windstorm anymore (which was basically set before the Buff), he can use some other of his really strong Add Ons. And having the silent Bell and purple All-Seeing might be too much, who knows. At least I can understand that people complain about that, if they face a lot of Wraiths using those Add Ons combined, because they can do this now, since no Add On-Slot is needed for Windstorm anymore.

But I dont think that they need to be looked at just now. MAYBE in the future, but not anytime soon.

I think that's just Wraith's biggest problem now, is a lot of his add-ons aren't worth using. Blink isn't with using, Blind Warrior isn't worth using, Swift Hunt isn't with using. And a lot of Wraith's better add-ons are still common or uncommon rarity. Why wouldn't I use his better add-ons if I get them so often?

I think Coxcombed is mostly fine for being an Iri, but I can see it being looked at. All Seeing - Blood is ridiculously powerful in the right build.

  • BHVR will never make camping bannable. They don't consider it toxic, the devs themselves consider it a unfortunate but valid strategy. They value player agency quite a bit.

I'm not saying I fully agree, I think camping is definitely some sort of a problem, but making it bannable is a completely stupid idea. This would force killers to just walk away from the hook, even when survivors are hook bombing. Camping just needs more counterplay. Making it bannable is overkill.

Tbf BHVR were able to make their own cosmetics for pig and Tapp so I don’t think licenseing is an issue here

Well, the licenses all likely gave them permission for the original cosmetics. Same with any original cosmetic for any licensed character.

  • Because the license didn't give them any. Back before Demo, the only licensed killer with unique music was Myers. Freddy still doesn't, and neither does Leatherface.

    I like bing bong boi.

There's nothing wrong with anything that's there, it's just that he feels too simplified.

If he could tap into his uncloak haste more easily in chases, he'd probably be third or fourth.

That's fair. I'm just heavily biased to Wraith, as he's my main.

He's from a time when Billy was the most complicated killer in the game, but I (personally) don't hold his simplicity against him. I think simple can be fun, just like something more complicated like Oni, another killer I really like, is also really fun.

I would love for him to have more chase potential though.
