  • No. But, sadly, it's typical lately. And on PC too. It's the worst matchmaking I've ever seen, finding game takes SO long and then we're getting that kind of ranks. I've stopped playing killer at all, partially because of devs approach, partially because of matchmaking. And now I'm close to leaving the game completely. Game is being progressively ruined.

  • Thank you all for your answers. I did the quest by picking up chest item, but I thought I completed it before by picking up survivor's item. I don't know, it's weird.

    @Fibijean said:

It should actually work if you collected someone else's item, whether they were dead or just gave it to you. I've done this ritual dozens of times and it's always worked for me with other survivors' items.

Did you go into that match with an item yourself? Because that could have something to do with it - for example, if you brought in a brown medkit and left with someone else's brown medkit, it might not register it as a new item.

Well, yes, I brought flashlight, but I picked up key, so two different items, game shouldn't see that as same.

I started nurse a few weeks ago and I’ve mastered the blink muscle memory, and I can catch any survivors who are out in the open or at pallets my only weakness are LOS blockers which I’m still learning and I am making progress at being able to catch survivors through there LOS blockers. So why doesn’t anyone play nurse SHES extremely good, my only motivation to start learning her was better I was tired of loops so I just started using her , I will admin i was absolutely bullied to oblivion by survivors but not that I’m starting to get the hang of her I’m getting more fear / respect and the bullies are going away

Because it's not their style? I know she's good, but I don't like her gamestyle. I HATE (the most in this game with all my heart) Billy and I don't really find Oni interesting, apart from mori animation and overall visual design. I like Ghostface, Pig, Myers. I might not have as good results, but I play for fun. It's matter of preference.

  • @Peanits said:

I would hesitate to say that this is because of balance, but either way, I would absolutely suggest reporting stuff like that. We have a team of people reviewing reports and we do not tolerate that.

I was reporting lots of people, not some offensive talk (I'm not some snowflake) but things like "I will kill you in RL". Not out of fear, but I think that's crossing some line and if person reacts like that, maybe they shouldn't play. But I still keep encountering people like that, guy (I won't say his name, he could've changed it anyway) who was saying lots and lots of things like that, saying he's reported after every game. And I still see him around.

  • TL:DR (at least not fully), but I have to say, community has often much better ideas than devs.

People who use hacks, be it wall hacks, speed hacks, whatever. It shouldn't be allowed.

People will lie and pretend hacking isn't a thing that exists in video games but it is, every online game has hackers. I don't record my matches, this isn't my video but here's one sample of proof: https://streamable.com/w58qr

Theoretically, if anyone reads this forum, they have user's name, it's obvious cheater, so he should be banned without question. But to be honest, in what game cheaters are actually being banned regularly? I think only in Tarkov maybe, in PUBG support even encourages cheaters to buy next copy of the game, so...

  • Matchmaking

  • Because devs don't know how to fix matchmaking. So they'll just hide ranks.

  • Well, the game is now basically 4vs1... but 4 killers vs 1 survivor, given the fact how badly devs are working to turn killers into the ones, who are actually struggling in the game. When I think it should be other way around, right? Survivors have strength in numbers, so individually they shouldn't be stronger than killer.

  • Hmm, actually making killers the way they should be? Scary and dangerous? I mean, right now - put great survivors vs great killer and survivors will always (at least over 90%) win. Game is only being balanced around baby survivors crying about this, crying about that. And just to be clear - I am survivor main, I'm not really good and I hate ruin change.

Especially reasoning the nerf is... silly. 'New survivors can't hit skillchecks' tell me something devs (if any devs will actually read this), and don't take it as an 'attack' or something, it's just food for thought. Lets say you're balancing a shooter, would you give new players aim bot, because they have hard time hitting head shots? Or in Mortal Kombat full combos on one button, because it's hard for new players to sequence a full combo? No, as a new player you have to learn mechanics, hitting skill checks IS a mechanic, basically only thing a survivor has to know. Each game has something you have to LEARN and in DBD we have those skill checks. What are you going to do next? Remove killes' weapons, because new survivors have hard time looping? Just think about it, you're going in wrong direction.

  • I honestly stopped playing killer after this challenge was released. And I tried a few times. Five DC games and some 'I rather DC than give you challenge' chat after game. So I kind of stopped trying, it's pointless to put that kind of thing in the game, that has so much DC problems.

  • @HealsBadMan said:

I'm not talking about SWF or KYF, rather the exact gamemode we have when you queue for Killer or Survivor, but WITHOUT the ranking system? It would be a better way to separate the players who are serious about playing competitively and people who are messing around, 'farming' BP or doing such that could ruin games for those competitive players?

Hmm maybe becaue ranks here matter as much as last year's snow? Honestly, who gives a damn about rank in game where you don't have tournaments and no rewards at all for the rank you get? What difference does it make?

Pretty much every other game that has a competative ranking system besides dead by daylight has some sort of restrictions in place to keep matchmaking balanced.

I'm not a CS:GO player, but what kind of restrictions are there? Devs punish you for playing with friends? You can't play 2+1+1+1 vs full 5 team? I'm pretty sure you can.

Adding voice chat? Yes. Making two modes where killer plays vs teams or solo survivors and vs teams killer gets some buffs? Potentially. Punishing people for playing with friends after making that an option? Worst idea ever, unless you'd like to lose some amount of playerbase, then yeah, it's a good idea.

  • Soon posts are going to be 'remove killers from the game, they're OP and unfair'.

    But on a serious note:

    • killer plays with 3 perks until last gen pops
    • you can cleanse totems at any point
    • you can cleanse NOED totem once it's active
    • you can run styptic

And about that perk on low rank, yeah, well, eventually new players are going to learn about perks, killers and tactics anyway. What difference does it make if it happens when player is on rank 20 or on rank 10? There's always first time they see that perk and for the next time they'll know - cleanse the totems.

Finally, about your last part, that you don't care that cleansing gets rid of it. Well... then too bad for you, but it's literally easiest perk to counter. You can counter it before it can be even used at all. And 'when it's up it's OP'... so is it OP or is it situational? It's not OP if you can remove it from the game completely before it does anything. And it's a good last chance for killer to do something. Sorry, but that's one of the most balanced perks in the game. Fact, not opinion.

  • No, farming is not bad. It could've been if there were some leaderboards that would lead to points for tournaments or something like that. If it was really competitive and farming was an easy way to get yourself to a tournament or something. In this state? I play games (all games, not just this one) to have fun, not to sweat, curse and tryhard for no reason. If some survivors start meming around I might join, why not? If I run into much worse players, and each gets hooked twice before even one gen pops, come on guys, have some fun, it's matchmaking fault, not mine, I will let them have their points and let them out.

I've had killers who have camped or hard tunneled me message me after saying "git gud," "ur trash," and most recently "u should stop playing this game as survivor." They won & I moved on yet they feel a need to message me and insult me as if camping and/or tunneling and winning wasn't enough. Something is seriously missing from these peoples' lives. Sad.

To be honest, many players I encounter are some sad kids, or complete morons. I don't know, some people really think it upsets someone, if they write 'easy' or something? It only tells sad story about their lives.

About gen rushing... what the hell is even this mystical gen 'rushing'? Doing gens? I think that's kind of survivors' one and ONLY objective. What are we suppose to do to not gen rush? Jump on the hook once or twice? Killer has like, kind of in a way, four different objectives (not counting protecting gens) - survivors.

And about camping and tunnelling, I feel like, sure, those are tactics, but kind of lame and stupid. Sure, you can get a kill, but that's really fun for you? I guess I'm not sweaty enough for this game, but I like when players have fun, it's just a freaking game, without tournaments, proper rewards for anything, ranks etc so really, relax kids.

  • If something happens during loading, you shouldn't get the penalty/ban. Game won't start, people won't lose items or anything, your team won't have a more difficult game (because it WON'T start), only 'downside' is people will have to wait a bit more again.

Friend I play with crashes quite often during loading, no he doesn't DC and even if he was, so what? Game DOESN'T start. So why should he get the penalty? It's not his fault game crashes, or loses connection. If it happens once the game starts, alright, but during loading? Come on. Fix your game first if you want to start banning people.

  • Fine, I might be a potato.

  • I guess only option for original Freddy now would be a skin.

  • I give the hatch quite often, I'm not really a tryharder:

    • If they played very well, without toxicity
    • If they were handicapped by early DCs
    • If I maxed out my points anyway
    • If gates spawn is very unfair (same wall and switch is visible from one spot and I wouldn't need to move to see which gate is being opened)
    • If last person basically surrenders to me

3k, 4k... doesn't mean anything, there are no tournaments, no rank rewards, so what's the point of tryharding so much? With 3k I pip anyway, so last lucky survivor can have some bonus points from me. Sometimes though I close the hatch and give them the gate. If you'll ever be last survivor, looking for the hatch and spot a Ghostface, 'teabagging' the hatch, closing it and then coming at you, 'teabagging', then don't be afraid, I most likely turned 'Scary Movie Ghostface' mode on and you can safely go for the gate ;)

  • No, because SWFs 99% of the time are one of the two types:

    • Meming and farming hooks - gets boring and pointless quickly
    • Tryharding and toxic - gets frustrating, even if I win, seeing butt dance zillion times, just because survivor managed to drop a pallet on my head, woooow, that skill
  • Lets just remove survivors instead.

  • No. Just no. It also doesn't work that way, 16 perks vs 4, most survivor's perks are to keep them alive, help with the chase. There aren't that many perks that speed up the game or affect the game all the time, like mentioned Ruin. Few survivor examples:

    • Borrowed time - is not active for the most portion of the game, works if you hang around the hook, and even if it works it affects you if you tunnel
    • Decisive strike - also doesn't affect the game, works when you're into one person too much
    • Chase/escape (mostly exhaustion) perks - help during chase, otherwise they don't speed gen progress or anything

    From killer's perspective:

    • Dying light - works since the first hook and keeps on going, only getting better
    • Ruin - works passively, affecting every generator, until hex is broken
    • Pop goes the weasel - massive gen regression, technically affects all survivors, not just one
    • Thrilling tremors - can stop everyone for short period of time
    • Devour hope - (assuming you protect the totem) stacks tokens and works on every survivor you hit, not just one

See the difference? Survivor's perks mostly affect only themselves in a specific situation, if I have lithe, it will help me, not my teammate, therefore effectively you are worrying about 4 perks at a time.

Honestly I don't know if you're trolling, I hope so, but if not, I wonder about your 'skill level' so to speak. I have barely 200h and I don't feel like I need more perks as a killer. If I had 16, to make game 'fair' in your eyes, each game would turn into a slaughterhouse. Imagine: Ruin, DH, BBQ, Nurse's Calling, Dying Light, Thanatophobia, Pop... I'm half way through and it's already OP as f... Even 6 perks would be OP.

And last thing, adrenaline OP? Dude, are you high? Just add to that, that you're a fan of ebony mori and DH shouldn't be hex, that would be a good summary of quality of your post. I really hope you're a troll.

  • I feel like in some situations mori helps way too much, vs some better survivors, now you only need to catch them twice, don't worry about DS and finally it makes the game much harder and intense for survivors. Although, sometimes ebony mori was helping (like I said - vs much better group) I don't really feel like it's 'fair'. Killing instead of hooking should be only possible on third hook I think. Then it would have very small impact on the game, you're basically dead anyway, sure, you might get flashlight save, block and wiggle or something, but in most cases, you are going to die. So in this situation it would only save few seconds for the killer and usually it wouldn't do anything, since mori lasts for a few seconds and often hooks are nearby, so mori instead of last hook would be just a cool way to end a survivor, without making it too fast.

Then ivory mori could be exactly that - gives ability to kill any survivor, if they've been hooked twice, ability to replace third hook with execution.

And ebony mori could've been mix of improved ivory and nerfed ebony - gives the ability to kill ONE survivor that's been hooked at least once. This way you'd have one 'OP' mori, to eliminate quickly biggest threat, or some 'funny' teabagger ;)

Although I have to say that I don't really run into mori too often and also I don't really use that too often either. Mori-ing takes away some of your points and I tend to be too greedy to use that. And although ebony feels too unfair and unfun to play against (or even play with it), I don't really feel like it's the biggest issue right now, it's just not used often enough. Unless others have different experience and it actually is used often.

I know what you're getting at. It's very frustrating to get removed from the match quickly. I used to get really frustrated at campers and tunnellers but I've just stopped caring. I don't care about my rank, I've improved my gameplay and if I die that round, I move onto the next. Since then my ability to rank up has greatly improved, I usually get at least 1 pip every match except for occasional noob matches where I make really dumb mistakes. I now have more fun playing and get less salty at the killer. I despise face campers though... I imagine them sitting behind their screens making sneering little faces 🤬

We have to remember at the end of the day both sides want to win. Most will do what they need to do to win - even if it feels cheap. If this happens to me I make it my job to distract the killer for as long as possible and hope my team can save me eventually 😊

I do agree that killers seriously affect how the game plays and how (un)fun it is. Survivors are the ones that can have their match ruined very quickly. This never happens to killers so a lot of them don't care 😒 And about killers getting more points - I agree to a certain extent. I think it's true at low ranks but when you get to purple/red ranks, killers can get a 4k and still barely get a black pip.

I'd love if we got more blood points for being camped. I've had matches were I was tunnelled and camped for the entire match then died as the gate opened. So for my (unwilling) sacrifice I got very little reward.

Sorry for super long comment, didn't realise how much I wrote 😯

Well, yeah, I quite rarely de-pip, usually it happens when I get caught early by spawning almost on the killer and then - being tunnelled few times or tunnelled and camped or when teammate dies, disconnects, then another and then I'm just like f... it. But in 'normal' games I at least keep my rank.

And I get it, both sides want to win, but I also play as a killer, and I don't really have that douchebag 'hard mode on'. Maybe I'm stupid, but I like when both sides have fun, good chase, rescue, getting gen done and at the end of the day, better wins. For example, I hook person A, person B quickly unhooks them, so I go after person B, I will let person A go, unless I down person B and A tries to farm the hook. Or in other words - if survivors are fair with me, don't teabag or anything, just do their job, I do my job and try to be fair as possible. I could get easy 4Ks in most games if I was going after unhooked person every time they get unhooked, but it's kind of no brain playing. And not really rewarding, I'm chasing injured person, while 3 people can do whatever they want, if I go after the rescuer, then rescued person most likely would like to be healed, so at least two people are doing nothing when it comes to gens. But if those situations happen, in my opinion, those survivors should get some bonus points, it's not their fault they can't do anything. They keep getting points from one category and then they reach their cap. Maybe once they get 8K for chasing and still get camped and tunnelled, maybe they should start getting passively points from other categories. That would discourage tunnellers, because some have this mindset 'I won't give others points' and give little something for those, that can't participate in the actual game, not by their own fault.

True about killers, but still, I think you'll get more points for insidious Bubba's basement, rather than for being tunnelled for 3 hooks straight ;)

  • @karatinac97 said:

Survivor here. Camping and tunnelling are legitimate strategies so they shouldn't be punished. Yes they're annoying and can be unnecessary sometimes but killers gotta kill, just the same as survivors gen rush (gen rushing is not toxic, it's literally the objective) and juke killers.

I don't mind (kind of) tunnelling and face camping, BUT, I do mind (a lot) the fact, that it completely denies my my game. I literally can't do anything. I get chased for X time, teammates are doing gens, trying to get killer's attention on themselves and killer just ignores them and keeps going after me until I die or somehow escape (no I don't teabag or flashlight click). Killer gets points no matter what (unless AFK), even without killing everyone, still gets points for chasing, hitting, kicking gens, pallets, hooking... even if all survivors escape, killer usually gets, at least, decent amount of points. And this is what I complain about when I play survivor. I'd like to get some BP bonus, when I get camped or tunnelled longer than certain amount of time or something like that. You know, I 'sacrificed' myself for the team, so okay, I can be face camped, I can be tunnelled, but if it happens for too long, give me some extra BP. Because I'll get my 8K for chasing, but that's it and I'm not gaining other points not because I hide in locker, but because my game is 'denied' for me.

    excusemewhat

Like I said; subjective experience. But let me rephrase that - I prefer Spirit than Billy, any time. If I was given choice to face Spirit or Billy, I'd pick Spirit without any hesitation. But I know most wouldn't agree with me on that, but that's what it is - subjective, like opinion on GF.

  • @TerminalEntropy said:

It's not a provocation but a legit question - have you played GF on higher ranks? Least high green, purple? Because GF is a noob cleaner, true, but adept survivors are quite good at destealthing him in my experience. Hell, there's a thread somewhere right now where a survivor put GF on a list of Killers he enjoys to go against, so... xD

Well, that's subjective. I enjoy playing vs Spirit and HATE (with hundred exclamation marks) playing vs Billy and I think many people would have much different opinion ;)

I play around rank 7-8 as a killer and between 7 and 9 as a survivor and I absolutely love playing GF and find it challenging, to play against him. Stealth, no terror radius aside, sometimes I see him stalking me around the corner, but looking at him doesn't do anything (while when I'm leaning I can be pulled out of my power xD) and sometimes he's out in the open, I reveal him, but at the same time I get exposed. Though last thing I guess is ping issue? I don't know, but I think every part about him is fine, but revealing should've been more consistent:

    • No simultaneous reveal + expose - I guess that could be server side problem rather than mechanic, but I don't know, but it shouldn't happen, either expose and reveal a moment later or reveal and don't expose after that
    • Leaning reveal - consistent; either it's possible or not, make your choice and adjust that.
  • @Mr_K said:

I think some people here are delusional to think the community is fine with Billy as he is. More people with the same points as Nomadd are going to come forward the closer we get to Billy's addon rework.

Thanks. I hope so. I have few years of experience in balancing games, card, mobile, shooters I know a 'bit' what I'm talking about. And sure, I mentioned I'm rather new to DBD, but still, Billy is nowhere near to be balanced. When you look at the stats he was performing better than Spirit and I think that speaks for itself.

And I find it hard to believe someone is using obstacles or loops as an argument that they are 'counters' to Billy. No, obstacles affect every character in the game and looping is a 'mechanic' against every killer. But there's no killer that with basic kit can get to you fast as Nurse and insta down you like Leatherface. Nurse with Devour? No problem, but she has to work for those tokens, keeping the totem active... So no, Billy in that shape and form is one of the worst balanced killers. He can have his sprint, his saw, that's not the issue per se, issue is with cooldowns, or lack of them. Imagine Spirit without cooldown, just activation time, would that be balanced? And she can't even insta down you. Yes, it's not the same power bla bla bla, I know, but it's same 'category'; overperforming character, technically you obviously can mindgame her, you can juke her, you can not let her hit you with her haunting.

He got a huge weakness. Loops. Understand how to run a jungle gym and he needs to M1 you. After he M1ed you, you basically won the chase no matter what, because his strength in chase only comes from his instadown.

Ummm... what? Loops? I thought looping is basically what you do with every killer... It's kind of like saying 'survivors' weakness is that they can die'.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108732/whats-with-the-nerf-billy-talk-and-speculation

He is high-tier and pretty balanced, when you manage to avoid his chainsaw charges and make him bump into walls.. or just never get noticed in the first place.. you can easily defeat him. The only rework i could understand would be a cool-down for his chainsaw, but him getting stunned when bumping into stuff is already a "cool-down" to me.

However, does Low-Tier Killers deserve a rework, such as Doctor or Pig..

So, he's pretty balanced and all we have to is 'manage to avoid his chainsaw'? So maybe simplify this advice to 'he's pretty balanced, you just have to not die' :D So Nurse and Spirit are also absolutely fine, just avoid blink and haunting and you'll see they're balanced and didn't need any nerf :D What kind of an argument is that? Do you even read yourself? I get it, you like Billy, I liked old Spirit, but it doesn't mean I considered her fine. With old beads game was turning into an easy mode. And I'm sure some Spirit mains would say 'she was balanced, all you needed to do was to mind game her haunting'. With that argument nothing is ever overpowered.

And as for 'low tier killers'... maybe, but buffing needs to be also done carefully, in order to not 'Freddy' the given killer. But if you look at stats Pig is doing pretty alright, Doc as well. I like them both actually, Doc has some cool builds, Pig can also be very dangerous, with specific maps especially. Maybe they could use some teaks, but I don't think it's that important now.

Billy isn’t mindless and it isn’t easy to play as him either . To use his chainsaw and to use it efficiently takes many hours to learn so if ur facing a hillbilly that is wrecking ur team it is because they have put many many hours into him to become that good . He has counters . He doesn’t need nerfed whatsoever.... he is very balanced as a lot of people have said . Mindless is sitting on a gen hitting mindless skill checks and opening a gate and I play both sides .

Why are you using word 'mindless' as a response to my post, like if I used it? Which I did not. And honestly, I have much better record vs EVERY other killer and my team always (well 95%) gets totally wrecked by Billy. And I don't play on high ranks, 10-ish. But okay, I have that experience, you might say you have much different, that's not a real argument. So let me, try to, explain to you why I hate Billy and why I don't consider him balanced at all.

    • Charge - M2 and off you go, NO requirements to fulfill, no downside, no nothing, just M2 and run, maybe even hit someone sometimes, but okay, that's not big issue, since getting hit on large distance is rather rare and easy to avoid (unless we add high ping and weird hit boxes but that's not just his issue). But you know, my problem is that there's no downside, no nothing to it, once you stop running you just charge the chainsaw, which is really fast and you can run/kill again. Nurse can blink super fast, but gets fatigued, gives you some chance to run away/hide/something. Legion cannot really kill you with frenzy, unless some addon combos exist which I don't know of. Oni has to collect blood and can charge for limited amount of time - and that's really balanced charge combined with attack. See what I'm talking about?
    • One shot downing - not totally bad by itself, Bubba has pretty much the same thing and it's fine... but... I think combining THAT fast movement and insta kills? Come on. This one is tied to the charge, doesn't require anything, doesn't have any downside (no, stopping when hitting an obstacle is not a downside, just in case someone would like to say that), doesn't have cooldown.

No, he's really unfun to play against.

    @deadbyhitbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/904161#Comment_904161

Billy has weaknesses. The only time he's too strong is with Instasaw. His weakness is survivors who expect curves and stay in areas where the Billy will have a hard time getting a saw. That's what makes Billy so much fun though, even when survivors get to that area, you can usually still utilize curves, and the survivor can try to play around curves. He's such a well designed killer.

So... basically what? Looping him is his weakness? I mean... isn't good looping good vs almost every other killer? That's hardly a reasonable argument, unless I don't get something. But let me put it this way - I loop a killer X somewhere, use windows, pallets, even lockers, utilize some quick & quiet maybe with dance with me, manage to confuse him, run to the other place. He runs around for a moment and I'm far away. Even if he sees me, I'm far enough away to make this distance even bigger and disappear somewhere, so he won't go after me, because he'll lose even more time. Billy? Just M2 charge to me in 3 seconds and off we go again. Honestly I was never ever able to really lose him, only time I didn't go down was when I played vs some even lower rank Billy and he got too mad after tryharding saw around some corners and just left me.

    @NahImGood said:

He needs no changes, not even add ons. Survivors can have strong items + add ons, so why can't killers? Everything that's strong for killers doesn't need to be changed.

Omegalul if you think nurse or spirit pre-nerf were fine. Freddy and Billy are statistically some of the highest performing killers in the game. And it's not because someone like Freddy is hard to play......

Rank 1 killer main before you throw shade at me for being a survivor.

Amen to that. I don't really like playing vs Freddy too much either, would I like nerf? Maybe, but probably not as much as Billy's.

And I agree with pre-nerf Nurse and Spirit. To all Billy mains, I used to play like almost only Spirit for some time and it was really an 'easy mode'. Needed easy points? Spirit and that's it. But even as, back then, Spirit main I was agreeing with people who wanted to nerf her. She was really insane. But multiplayer game is not just about me and what I want, if there's so much 'whining' about Billy, maybe there's something on the line? If it was one post here and there, okay, but I think it's been going on for a while, if devs said they'll look into it. And then looking at the stats and how well is he performing. It's always annoying when in some game your favorite character is nerfed, but well, there are other people too and what's weak or okay for you maybe not as fine for others. I do much, much better against Spirit than Billy, but I wouldn't say 'she's perfectly balanced, because I do okay', there are other players too.

Yk I wish that would happen, but I believe Billy will get the Nurse treatment where, they announce they will do add on changes, then announce they are look at the base kit, then announce that they will do "slight" changes, PTB goes live and we find out major changes happened to Billy's base kit where he gets some unfun feature, and then they will ignore feedback.

Devs have lost my trust especially how they handeled Nurse, and Doctor looks like he's about to get Legioned.

Maybe, but still I have this mindset, that he looks like combining best of two very powerful mechanics - charge and insta down. And so far I've seen that every killer has strengths and weaknesses and Billy has, for me, really not much weaknesses, not much requirements in order to activate best of him.

But then of course, I might be, and probably am, wrong. But I'd still like to see something that would slow him, 'just a litttle bit' ;)

  • Okay I am a relatively new player, so my judgement is probably wrong, so don't bite my head off, like I said, I'm new. But as far as my observations go:

    • Billy runs across the map (almost) like Nurse, without any fatigue, drawback, nothing. Sure, he can bump into walls or not turn around too easily, but it's hardly a real downside
    • Insta down - and that combined with the rush? I mean... come on, no cooldown, not fatigue, no special requirements (like stalking, collecting blood) just hold M2, aim and there you go
    • That two combined? There's only so much you can do against him, you can't really 'outrun' him, he'll always get to you, if you're far away he just charge his rush and bam, he's suddenly right there

For the 100th time; I'm new to this game. So if I'm wrong tell me how the hell THAT is balanced, compared to the other killers. What is it that I don't see about him? Because, at least on paper, that's like combining Nurse's blink speed (almost) with Leatherface's insta kills and so far 99% matches against him were the most frustrating I've ever had in this game. I really rather play vs Nurse or Spirit.

  • Year 4 and chapter 15... so does this mean we're going to get chapter 15 this year? O_o

  • Why stop there? Lets go further:

    • 1 lvl - first hook phase is ignored and surv moves to second
    • 2 lvl - second phase is ignored and surv is killed on hook
    • 3 lvl - killer can mori survivor on first down

I think that would've been more balanced.

  • Hate playing vs:

Freddy - teleporting, slow downs and annoying dream world, not the worst to be honest, out of my 'hate' list he's least hated, rather annoying

Billy - dash + insta down just triggers me, sometimes feels like total bs

Oni - to be honest, he feels like tunnelers wet dream, get hit once and you can't really lose him, since you keep dropping huge, glowing blood orbs, feels like 'who needs scratch marks', I might be wrong, but so far it works like that for me

Others I either like or don't mind. Some have something annoying about them, but nothing that would bother me too much.

  • I also don't understand that 'Legion' name. I mean, I get it from the lore, but mechanic wise? We just have a killer that has multiple characters as skins. When I first read 'Legion' I thought they're really 'legion', like, I don't know, creating some illusions of themselves and player can't tell which is which until gets hit by the real one. I don't know, just something that would make 'Legion' a... legion. Now he just might be called 'The Runner'.

  • Same ######### for me. Great job.

    Target of Opportunity =/= Tunneling

If you cross map or immediately go back, by passing other survivors for the unhooked player, that's what i'm talking about. Tho some survivors are butt hurt over any type of tunneling, that's what i'm referring to.

I am only butt hurt when killer finds a survivor and will chase him till he dies, ignoring everything and everyone around him. Not caring about gens, avoiding other survs, who are even trying blocking etc. Just tunnel vision on one person.

Lol. The game already gave you a god loop, a couple of jungle gyms, and abouy 10 pallets during your five minute chase. The game doesn't need to give you anything else.

I don't mind being chased per se, but if I can't do anything for the WHOLE game, because killer finds me to attractive to leave me the f... alone I'd like some sort of 'reward' for being a bait for the whole game. Since I can't touch a gen, I can't heal, myself or others and most likely, I can't leave. So two-three categories are out for me.

  • 'refusing to participate in normal gameplay'

This one is quite... open for interpretations. If killer is chasing me and only me (one survivor in general), ignoring others, ignoring gens, just catching one surv, camping somewhere close to the hook and tunneling that poor bastard until he's dead, without caring about objectives being done... I think that should also count as 'refusing to participate in normal gameplay'.

  • Survivors - hate getting people who spend first two minutes farming with unhooking each other until they die.

Killers - face campers and tunnelers. Sure, you might say it's tAcTiC, but it's really braindead tactic. Plus it's literally preventing (at least) one player to have any chance to play the game. Forget exiting or something, just playing. I've just had three games where killer decided to chase me, only me, ignoring gens, other survivors, just 100% after me. Team completed 4 gens and eventually I died and killer just stood under the hook.

There should really be some kind of punishment for the killer or reward for survivor if that happens. 5min non stop chase? Come on game, give me something, haste, BP bonus after the game, anything. Losing rank in that situation is not my fault, I literally can't do anything.

  • Totally agree. Those challenges turned into 'Farm by Daylight'. Some are fine, like Trapper's 'trap X survivors', that fits his gamestyle, gameplan, you're already trapping the map, so the challenge here is to get better at playing Trapper. But others? Just encourage dumb playing, grinding and tryharding.

I play mostly survivor and no matter the rank I mostly get some dumbasses that are farming hooks. Buddy got down, unhook, buddy picks up him and they keep going until they're dead. It's really great to encourage stupid playing. Or basement camping, just to get that shrine quest.

  • Main issue with those challenges is that they encourage people to play dumb. Games turn into a farm fields instead of just normal gameplay. Good challenge, that's actually a challenge and doesn't force dumb plays and farming are Trapper's trapping quests. Sure, it's difficult to trap 5 people in one game sometimes, but it fits his playstyle, you set traps during game... challenge here is to make your trap plays better, and that's great. But lets take a look at other quests:

    Survivors:

    • Unhook 25 survivors... yeah, that totally doesn't encourage farmers to farm hooks and die in 2mins
    • Unhook 2 survivors during endgame collapse - usually if endgame collapse starts and there are 3-4 people left in the game and killer gets one, they'll just face camp. Plus it's second quest, almost blocking survivor path so... good job, good job
    • Escape a trial without being hooked - like... really? I hope if killer DCs it'll count. Sure it happened to me few times, but usually I'll get hooked at least once. And how is that not an encouragement to just crouch and do nothing? For many people it will be for sure

    Killers:

    • Hook 15 survivors in the basement... - so too few insidious Bubbas? Okay, it is some sort of challenge in some cases to bring a person to a basement, but come on. It's more frustrating and sure, I shouldn't do it like that, but I was still kind of tryharding the basement, losing survivors 4 times during an attempt to bring them there.
    • Basement + shrine - so the challenge here is to play with 3 perks basically? Sure, it can be some sort of challenge to hook two people at the same time in the basement, but that's still an encouragement to just camp.
    • Grab 6 survivors - I thought this tome was about Trapper, when it comes to killers... for me it's kind of okay, I have all the stealth killers to make it easier, but it's still kind of annoying, encouraging tryharding just that.
    • Sacrifice 2 survivors during endgame collapse - not the worst quest by itself, but if I play vs potato team I have to just what, sit in the corner and wait until they stop hiding and finish gens after 20min?

Plus biggest issue, in my opinion, is that you have to pre-select the quest and can complete only one per trial. While some are annoying, difficult, tryharding. I was walking around destroying pallets, kicking gens, while I grabbed few survivors and few days later I'll have to do this once again? I've already escaped without being hooked, using spine chill, but I'm still unhooking 25 survivors.

Yeah, I know, this complain is a stretch, but some quests have way too many random factors. They encourage weird behavior, most cannot be even completed during, relatively, normal gameplay, like basement ones. Not the most difficult, but sometimes you don't get too close to basement at all, and you have to either threw the quest away, for the duration of the game, or do some weird things and most likely lose and not complete anything.

  • I'd LOVE to see two chapters:

    • Hellraiser - Pinhead and Kirsty Cotton
    • Silent Hill - Pyramid Head and James Sunderland
  • Pinhead for sure. I wouldn't play anyone else :D

  • Survivor who's not doing anything gets 'attacked' by crows, so killer should get some penalty for not doing anything as well.

Or hooked survivor should get some bonus points for not being able to do anything, I mean if killer is camping.
