In that you are right, this is not a discussion, this is just me schooling you about a problem in a game where you basically just say "its not op because i belive so all of you complain to much", you havent offered anything remotely relevant to support your claims the boons are perfectly fine as they are, yet here im even bringing numeric data to back up my claims, so i would say this "discussion" if it can be called that its over, i dont se a point in loosing more time trying to explain something to you, you cant or dont want to comprehend or are just to stubborn to accept you dont have a decent argument behind it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2604292#Comment_2604292

This would be one of the easiest way to make the boons a valuable resource with a tactical aproach, that would also be a tactical aproach for the killer as if they play with hexes they are reducing the area where his might be and have it destroyed to.

An alternative would be to have them have "charges" each boon could be used 4 times per survivor, that would also make them a tactical resource but would still allow them to use them on the same totem if they want.

No, I gave you my point of view, I gave you my reasons. I said yes, it is good perk, it requires quite a setup, can be removed, does not affect whole map and cannot be protected. Yes, I would agree that cooldown (when it's snuffed out) would be alright, yes I would agree that killer should be able to pick whether he wants to quickly snuff out the effect or take few more seconds and completely break the totem. But definitely not what you said - "unless the four survivors are doing the exact same thing and the blessing takes over 35 seconds its not even a discusion worth bringing to the table" - four survivors doing one totem for 35 seconds (that can be destroyed in half) is not balance, that's just pure desire to basically remove it from the game. It's like if I said "hey let's make it so the killer has to setup his hex perks, it should take a minute to lit up the totem" - that'd be also absolutely ridiculous.

And I suggest you changing your tone, you don't hold any superiority to 'school' me or anything. If you can't have a discussion, then don't discuss. Don't automatically assume you're always right and know everything and person you're talking to is stupid. You may or may not be right, but even if you are, you can talk like... well, not like typical member of DBD or LoL community.

  • I played today with 3 Claudettes in team and I played Felix. Killer tunneled me since the start, never hit any Claudette and let all of them go and in the chat said he killed me because he hates Felix.

Please ban this player he's clearly racist and hates white people.

Not important?...so are you saying that healing and preventing a chase is not important?...clearly whe arent on the same chanel. They dont need to afect the whole map to be strong, they however show their ridiculous strenght on smaler maps as they cover a lot more of the area, still that doesnt dimish the power they can hold as a tool and an infinite resource. That also brings back the point, hexes are a 1 time thing for the whole map, boons are infinite to be used in ANY totem they can find. Again seems whe arent on the same level of understanding of both things.

Yes, both sides have very strong convinations of perks that can bend rules, still for the most part they have counterplays, the thing is those strong killers are the ones that can bypass the survivors meta builds...this just brings back to the "stronger" killers who can compete with said survivors. What you arent looking at its the way the game works, for the most part high MMR are its dominated by survivors where ONLY a handfull of killers can compete with them, and thats not a coment its a FACT.

When your game has a problem with one side you should adress it, but given that the game has a bigger population on the survivor side its pretyt obvious why the devs are escared to work on them as much as killers, this is a situation of potentially loosing 4/5 ths of your player base verus 1/5, you dont need to be a cientist to know why things work the way the do.

Did i ever mentioned win ratios? not at all. The core problem isnt the rate of wining but the way it happens. I have 0 problem to play a game with all 4 survivors escape IF i have fun chasing them, having a few hooks and why not, even having some silly situations mid game or goof around.

Just as survivors love to complain about camping tuneling or even certain killers just because they dont like them, i dont enjoy having my game become a chore because ALL the information given to me to "try" and find survivors its completly negated thanks to a single perk. Im going to repeat it, i dont care if i have a 4K or a full escape as long as i have fun, but when said boon literally makes it so im just wandering around aimlessly with 0 input to do "something" then we have a problem. Im just going to remind you, survivors complain if they dont have information at hand, if the terror radious its not big enought they complain because the killer sneaks behind them, if they killer has some form of ranged atack they complain if they dont get a sound "clue" of when the killer its preparing their atack so they can dodge, or how about a grunt and so on. Yet its perfectly fine to strip down all the info for killers?, mind telling me exactly how shadow step its balanced? and please, dont try and bring blessing time, unless the four survivors are doing the exact same thing and the blessing takes over 35 seconds its not even a discusion worth bringing to the table

What discussion? You're not even interested in discussion. 'Boon op'. And you want 4 survivors blessing one totem for over 35 seconds? And then be able to remove it in less amount of time than closing a hatch? Yeah, not broken.

Except the game ITS reliant on scratch mark to give you a general idea of the direction where the survivor its moving. Its not giving you direction, but its a way to prevent complete stealth, something survivors cry and moan againts for killers to have wich in response creates terror radious, weird sounds the killers do and information to prevent complete stealth.

Unless its the hex itself it takes 14 seconds, wich in all honesty it isnt much at all, i have seen plenty of survivors who easily sneak behind the killer rebless the totem and keep abusing the mechanic on the area over and over.

Again, the only one that takes a decent amount of time its the hex and bless, dull totems take 14 seconds only. Also its at best a minnor disadvantage, should i remind you that thats 1 suvivor doing the totem while the other 3 are doing their objectives?, unless all the team are searching and blessing totems its not a particularly big disadvantage

Except hex are snuffed out and they are gone completly from the game. Plenty of times RNG puts survivors literaly in front of the hex, leaving the killer with 3 perks trought the rest of the game, meanwhile boons can be reapplied indefinitly trought the entire game. They arent the same in any way.

Clearly whe come from diferent places when it comes to balance, boons need to be readjusted and nerfed, specially shadow step.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602241#Comment_2602241

Tryharding? i mention time becase survivors LOVE to bring out how "much" time they waste on doing boons and how "bad" they are for the game, its funny how they try bring out 14 as this terrible amount of wasted time ,but the moment its shown how in the grand scale of the game its way way less impactfull they try to make it be they quickly change their tune or just get overly defensive.

Oh right...because comparing a hex that can be permanently snuffed out of the game its equal to a boon that can be reaplied to the exact same totem over and over and over right?.

Yea, because the killer needs to chase survivors, down them, then find a hook to put them on, kick generators, harash other survivors hoping while it was on the previous chase they didnt rushed 2 or 3 gens while at the same time trying to keep people from unhooking first survivor while at the same time worrying about boons that make chases virtually imposible and allows them to healh out indefinitly, but clearly killers need more things to do mid game right?.

The funny thing is that they arent competitive teams, this are just people who have a decent amount of cordination, wich just exposes how easily this boons break the game, specially in comunication teams.

If survivor is reapplying Boon over and over again, that's just more time that surv is not doing anything important. Plus, again again - Boons do NOT affect whole map and I can't protect it.

Only 'funny' thing is that there's no discussion about anything. Both sides always have worse time, both sides jump on the other side for making a point... geez... We could point 'op' stuff on both sides, rule breaking, game breaking stuff etc. Yeah, there are perks that are very good, but are killers without powers or perks? I think killers also use perks that are 'pretty good', especially on strong killers.

And in the end, you're not supposed to win every single game and I'd say that it's rather rare that killer cannot get 1-2k consistently and gain a pip or at least not lose one. And yeah, in some situations you won't win, just like I won't win in others.

  • @Viamont said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602116#Comment_2602116

Wrong, for the most part "almost" all perks have a counter play, shadow step on the other hand doesnt.

Taking away scratch marks its already bad enought, specially on heavy structure jungles where survivors can lose line of sight extremely fast, add the fact they also while inside the area cant be tracked by aura perks and you have a recipie for disaster, add iron will and you have efectively become invisible. "but blood pools" yea heres the thing, in many maps its not a good way to find survivors, the pools easily blend on the enviroment making it just as hard to follow them, not to mention you might have to lower your camera in order to have a better vew reducing your area of search to half the ground half what you have in front.

Shadow step its absurdly overpowered, in a full team comp just with that one they can do watever they want, i have already seen and sufered it miself.

Boons need to be toned down a notch and make them a tactical play and not just a free to apply anytime i want without problems, 14 seconds for a single survivor its nothing compared to the time of a killer, thats something many dont understand. 14 wasted by a survivor are 3.5 seconds for a killer, unless the entire theam its doing exactly the same thing the time isnt the same for both sides

Geez you're counting seconds in this game? I mean... kudos I guess, tryharding is just something I'll never do in DBD.

But back to the subject - how do you counter Ruin? Devour Hope? You cleanse. How do you counter Shadow Step? Same way. And yes yes yes, precious 3 seconds or whatever, but come on, killer kind of has to take some time to do actions as well. And as for competitive playing, I kind of find it hard to believe you're running vs competitive full teams (that reminds me Tru3's rants whenever he's losing it's ALWAYS to 0.3% best survivors in the world) but even if you are, then I think competitively DBD behaves differently than team of noobs just screwing around, like me and my friend are doing. I've seen competitive games, out of curiosity and I think there are other issues than Shadow Step, that's just another thing that might help, but actual full competitive team would win against most of us anyway, Shadow Step or not.

It is not a problem that the discovered HEX Totem will be destroyed. That's the way it's designed.

The problem is that Boon Totem does not destroy HEX Totem, but overwrites it and then disables it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602028#Comment_2602028

Let's have a discussion about NURSE somewhere else, not here.

I believe that they should be adjusted eventually, but if you ask me which one I should prioritize, this one should be adjusted first.

And I'm telling you, that basically every perk, power, item is some sort of a 'rule breaking' thing (I'm not starting different conversation, because I don't want to, that's one and second Nurse was an EXAMPLE). That's their purpose; altering rules. Quick & Quiet does this, Ruin, Tinkerer, Sprint Burst, Med-kits, killers' powers... literally everything. Same thing with removing scratch marks with boon totem - it's supposed to help with chase in that area. But it's not a global effect nor it does remove blood pools, in open areas it does literally nothing and so on and so on. Is it strong? Probably. Is it overpowered? Not even close. I'd say Iron Will + Lucky Break is closer to being overpowered than this Boon.

  • If you want to bring 'destroying rules' argument - Nurse destroys rules much more effectively. If we want to nitpick - anything that goes around regular 'chase-vault-drop a pallet-kick a pallet' routine breaks the rules of the game.

And just be clear - no, I'm not saying delete Nurse, Huntress or whatever else (I don't even complain about their existence), but if we want to nitpick, let's nitpick.

Perks and powers are sort of 'rule breaking mechanics' in general. No rule breaking would be perkless survivor vs M1, powerless killer. Perks are meant to break or rather... hmm, overcome difficult situations that may arise from certain situations and mechanics.

Yeah, I agree... Ha ha ha... Imagine playing Leatherface just to troll survivors. That would be awful and totally not who I am...

Well if you're the one who loves face camping with Bubba just to trigger people... well, that's kind of griefing and approach of a 10 year old child, but whatever gives you fun I guess. Shame you can't just play the game instead of putting your effort into triggering people. Again - that's why I absolutely despise this community.

If you're not like that - sorry, but that's how your response sounded.

  • @pyramidheadmain6233 said:

I like using it just cause it makes people angry.

And that's why I despise most of this community. Many people have this mentality "I don't play to win, have fun, I just want to make someone else angry, ruin someone else's fun". That's a very childish, griefing behavior.

As for the main topic, I don't mind NOED that much, I usually do all the totems and NOED hardly ever activates. What I don't like about it still, is that it's so, so cheap - if killer is good, NOED is not needed, if killer is absolute trash, and can't get more than one hit during whole game, it just feels... not really fair that suddenly he gets a free down and possibly even a kill, if he manages to protect the totem.

As for the survivor perks you've mentioned, they are second chances, but during the game and usually won't give you a free escape. It's like, Dead Hard can give you access to window or a pallet, but Bamboozle can disable that window.

Killers complain about survivors, because survivors use perks that help them during interactions with the killer - BT, DH, DS etc. Killers mostly use stuff to defend gens - Corrupt, Ruin etc. and stuff like that is not helping during interactions with survivors.

I have to disagree with your second point. Most killers don't do it every single game to ruin someone's experience or make them angry. I think.

I didn't say 'most killers' do it. I said there are two reasons why people do it and second one is just pure griefing :)

I didn't say it's more common or anything, I just said it happens.

  • It kind of depends why killer is doing it, in my opinion:

    • when situation requires it, because it's endgame or whatever else... it sucks, but alright, I get it, I'll never say it's 'fun' strategy, but I get it you try anything at this point to get at least one kill
    • when killer plays this game just to trigger and provoke people, you know, when they dedicate their time just to make someone mad (people have stuff like that put on their steam profiles or they say this on their streams, they openly say they want to make someone mad), I'd argue this is griefing and you won't convince me otherwise
  • I almost don't play killer at all, but if I do I consider Pinhead my main. I love Hellraiser and Cliver Barker's work in general.

Before that I played Pyramid Head, but... I don't like Pyramid Head in anything besides SH2, yeah I'm an orthodox Silent Hill fan ;)

"it feels rather fair to have a chance to manage to get to another loop."

There are other exhaustion perks for that.

Until someone starts crying that exhaustion perks in general are OP and shouldn't be in the game (I've seen certain youtuber like that, I won't name him because of my despise for him) xD

No, but like seriously - each exhaustion perk helps with different situation, no perk is universal, no perk works in every situation. When you're running in corn Balanced Landing won't help you, but Dead Hard will. If you're on Haddonfield, most likely Dead Hard won't be much help, but Balanced Landing will be borderline OP.

  • @Rhoska said:

    @Nomadd

"And on average, it doesn't do much."

Then you would have no problem with removing DH or nerfing it, as the change would not do much, on average.

Well nerfing, by definition, would lower the value of the perk. So from 'useful' would go to 'unplayable'... yeah, sure I wouldn't mind that.

But in all seriousness - if it was nerfed, I wouldn't cry, I mostly don't care when something is changed, I'm as far from sweaty tryhard as possible, but still - I don't see a reason why it should be nerfed. Sure, it helps, but it helps once and it's just that - help, why shouldn't survivor have that? Killer is already faster, have bloodlust... it feels rather fair to have a chance to manage to get to another loop.

I specifically said not to use whataboutism. Please focus on the topic at hand. What you guys are talking about are separate issues that should not be compared.

Well then I gave you my answer - you said it's not balanced because it gives a second chance and in my opinion that's exactly why it's fine. Plus you still need to know how to use that. And on average, it doesn't do much.

  • @Trwth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2585143#Comment_2585143

I'm asking why you think Dead Hard is fine. As in, what are some good traits about Dead Hard that make it a healthy perk?

My problem with Dead Hard is that I feel like it gives people second chances after messing up. More than a few times have I mindgamed someone only for them to dash to a pallet, saving them despite the fact that they misplayed. It's just so powerful for an ability you can use at without any conditions.

What about NOED? Gives even more chances after someone messed up. The whole game you can't catch someone, then suddenly you get free down/kill.

There's no problem with Dead Hard, there's no problem with NOED. Some perks are just good and are supposed to help you in certain situations. On average DH gives you few more seconds of the chase. Sure, there are situations where it'll give a way out, but on average it won't do much. We remember mostly those situations that were worst for us, you, as the killer, remember mostly situations where DH gave your opponent much longer chase, I, as a survivor, remember that it "never" works and I'm "always" exhausted on the ground.

Plus - isn't that the point of using those certain perks? Wasn't that designer's choice? To actually BE second chance perk? And what do you even mean without any conditions? You have to be injured and you're then exhausted, it's not like you can spam it. And yes, being injured IS a condition (same as vaulting for Lithe or falling for Balanced). Killers that insta-down will bypass that.

You do know that the rank/grades don't matter anymore right?

There's the hidden mmr which do the matchmaking now, still terrible btw.

As for noed, i don't care about it either cause it's something to get rid of easily.

The people complain about noed are the one's who don't do bones because they think it's a waste of time, then come here complain about it.

I wonder how they will do when there will actually be a secondary objective someday 😂

    Is it a terrible perk?

    Yes.

I've been hit by it a couple of times as well which sucks if that happens.

And there were always 2 reason for.

    1 i didn't do bones

2 i was mostly in case and my team didn't do any bones.

But other than that, it rarely ever gets active

I know ranks don't matter, but I'm just saying that it's been my experience ;) I don't know, maybe new(ish) killers think they need to tunnel to kill at any cost to progress at Ash rank? And they don't know you progress there basically no matter what ;) It may be just a coincidence, I'm not saying there's a correlation.

Yeah, I always cringe during watching some youtubers, that keep counting each millisecond and say what's 'oPtImAl' and stuff like that. Don't do bones, don't touch chests, don't use Built to Last (like Scott was counting precious little seconds you could've used to do a gen) or Self Care... It's a cringe fiesta to me. And to be honest, I don't like Self Care even, but I will use it just to say f you to tryhards like that xD It's funny, how they complain about MMR and then they count each second of the match. Guess what - tryhards meet tryhards, I stack We're Gonna Live Forever (with Borrowed Time) and that's my win condition, maybe that's why I don't get sweaty tryhards and games are more fun - no gen rushing from me, no NOED from killer. But I digress.

But as for NOED - I don't play killer at all and I still think NOED is mostly fine. Though I'd say it's like old hatch - it can shorten the match in a not really fun/fair way, if it goes off.

I once had a rework suggestion - remove 'hex' part of the perk, it still triggers the same way, but it works on survivors that's been hooked twice. Probably though in some cases it would've been much more overpowered, but it would've been really 'one last chance' perk, with stronger effect, but you'd have to 'earn' it. But I still think NOED, as it is, is mostly fine. And to all the tryhards who think destroying totems is a waste of time - don't do totems, but don't complain about NOED later.

  • To be honest I rarely get tunneled or camped and people are often saying that on iri ranks killers constantly camp and tunnel... and to be honest after rank reset I had much more miserable experience on low ranks, than on high. On low killers were actually tunneling, not accidentally stumping upon same survivor, but actually they were consciously picking one survivor and had tunnel vision on this one person. Best situation was when I body blocked a Bubba and he was so focused on getting to that survivor, he refused to use chainsaw on me and tried to move around the whole tile just to TRY to catch up to that survivor he was focused on xD

That's tunneling, when killer just happens to find you again... well, next time you're unhooked find a better spot to go and heal. Recently I really had rather nice matches, even if I was dying, I was feeling it was fair.

As for NOED... I have kind of mixed feelings, I don't really mind it, because in most games me and my friend we break all the totems anyway, so it usually doesn't affect us. What I don't really like about it (don't flame me ;) ) is that most of the time it just gives free kills to really, REALLY bad killers. And yeah, I know you can say that it at least gives bad players chance, okay, but it still feels kind of cheap and frustrating when killer can't do more than one hit on you for the whole match and then he gets you... I feel like that's equivalent of old hatch, when survivors could just end the game on the spot. But you can get rid of NOED before it even activates, so I'm like 90% okay with it, even if it sometimes frustrates me :)

I have a good time when I feel like the Survivors have to struggle against me instead of the other way around.

Just like feeling in control of the match as Killer personal preference

So it's fun to stand under a hook when other player (literally) is unable to actually play?

OK so.. hear me out. There are these things called totems. You can cleanse them. Right? Following me? and if you destroy them you get bloodpoints. You know the thing survivors don't get a lot of? Also rushing gens is with using perks/items that speed up the progress. Another Also, What's the point of playing this game if your just gonna finish gens super fast. I thought this was a game of killer chasing, finish gens, and escape, not finish gens and escape.

Geez, cut the sarcasm. I get it, most of this community cannot hear other side and have civilized conversation, but ffs... I asked the question, if this is your way of having a discussion, let's just end it here.

Actually I do totems, but everyone likes winning, so bigger priority are, still, gens. If survivor gets unhooked and you find that unhooked one, do you purposely ignore him? Both sides are doing objectives.

Yes, doing gens is boring and I play to interact with the killer, but there are weird situations like killer is chasing someone for a very, very long time and refuses to let them go, or face camps them... I'd say in 90% of the time, if killer plays 'normally' (tries chasing everyone instead of fixing on someone) and applies good amount of pressure, there's no 'rushing' anything. If killer however decides to ignore everything around him besides this one person... gens fly quickly.

I 'rush' when killer camps or tunnels one person, if the game is normal, I do totems & open chests. But speed of the game is determined by both sides.

Plus it's mostly BHVR's fault - one side's goal is to interact (kill) with the other side while the other side's goal is to... leave. It's a weird design decision, when to sides, two teams are playing same match, but have to do entirely different thing. Killer is actual multiplayer, PvP, survivor is... PvNothing (xD) with optional PvP. When game is telling players 'you don't have to do X', many of them won't do this.

Sorry lol, didn't know killer trying to kill you is a problem.

Except... the person you're quoting was talking about something different than 'killer trying to kill'.

So, wait... doing objectives, no no, let me start again - doing ONE AND ONLY objective a survivor has is now 'rushing' it? xD

But okay, I'd like to hear your answer, your solution to this - if a killer is NOT chasing me, what am I supposed to do? Politely wait? I can do one gen and then wait X minutes? I'm seriously asking, when does the 'rush' start and when doing gens is not 'rushing'? I thought that killer should patrol, attack survivors and defend the gens, but alright...

Yeah if you 4ked a lot then you were placed in a higher seed when sbmm started. Your main killer dictated the starting level of your other killers.

What? Did you even read what I wrote? xD I played two (2, TWO) games as Ghostface in June and played those three games in September! Previously I've played as a killer in 2019, how is that '4keying' a lot? xD

I play killers (LITERALLY) like two games every few months, in 2019 it was last time I actually 'played' killer, I mean regularly. If a player like me gets paired with 4 survivors who play regularly on rather high level, then the system is stupid and/or broken.

Your mmr will likely adjust fast if you haven't played that many matches. If you 4k'd most of those, the system probably just seeded you too high.

I lost all of those matches and previously I played in like June (I think) two games as Ghostface. And Trickster and Pinhead I've never played before so...

What killers were you playing? I dont know why your mmr was that high☹

Trickster (first time ever), Pinhead (first time ever) and Huntress (first time since 2019).

  • I have an idea - turn it off.

  • I only have bad stories - I haven't played killer since 2019, in 2020, 2021 I played like... two killer matches per three months, so how 'high' my MMR can really be, right? When it started, I thought to give it a shot, since it should be finding me people with my 'skill' level...

So first match - me on Ash IV, vs 4 absolutely sweaty SWFs, each with few thousand hours, iri ranks (before someone says 'but ranks don't matter' - if I have Ash IV, it means I haven't played or played poorly, right? If someone has Iridescent I it means he played pretty well and pretty long. It's not even an opinion, it's a fact) etc. So I got destroyed before I realized ######### happened.

Second match? Basically the same. Third? Wanna guess? I mean... I guess I must be super skilled and my MMR was rising even though I didn't touch killer for two years!

I tried it a few more times and decided to quit. Great job BHVR, as always.

    • I can idle/kill myself

You can’t look at one person and go “this is the reason why this game is in such a bad state” when it’s in the best state it’s ever been in.

    Is it?

I have a lot of gripes (Wraith nerf, about 2/3 of killer perks being completely useless and half the killers being mediocre, cheaters, SBMM quirks, Haddonfield) - but compared to when I started playing just over a year ago, it's so, so much better.

Still, just because it's in 'best state ever', doesn't mean the game is in good state. Just the way he was talking about MMR...

  • That's maybe how it should be, but survivors are not being treated as a group, by themselves. Killer sees them as a group, but they see themselves as four individuals, that's why this system is utterly stupid. Because it allows you to do literally nothing, not help your team and escape and your personal victory will be counted as a victory. It doesn't matter if you don't help your teammates, you escaped, kudos.

I always look at points and that's my factor whether I won or lost. I treat the game like it's a 'match' with the Entity being a judge and giving us points. But if I had to put victory to something, I'd say the more gens you do as a team the better (with escapes being like a 'huge bonus') and hooks count towards victory, with kills being a 'huge bonus'.

I realize this is probably not what most people would agree on, but personally, if I go and sweat my ass just to escape at any cost... it's boring after one game.

  • If Patrick is LEAD game designer, I have the answer why this game is in such horrible state.

  • Whether you find flashlight clicking, teabagging and other actions like that as annoying, we can say objectively, that those actions ARE performed to do exactly that - annoy and nothing else. And in my opinion, if you do something with a conscious choice to annoy other player(s), then you ARE toxic.

And it doesn't matter if it annoys you or not. I don't care for the end game chat for example, doesn't matter if it's something silly like calling me stupid or more serious like death threats. I find it all rather silly and I don't care, it won't trigger me. But objectively, it's not really healthy that a person gets so aggressive over a game.

Teabagging and other actions like that are like a 'language' between players, it's like a middle finger - somehow, in history, it's been defined as offensive and games do stuff like that as well, define their own 'language' or signs. So whether you find it offensive or amusing it doesn't matter - it's purpose is to annoy you and it's being used in 99% of the time only for that. So I think it should be deemed as toxic.

  • It would be fun to get something new, but new map equals a possibility for another RPD.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/285191/please-add-a-concede-option-for-slugs

I know not everyone enjoys slug mechanic but if u add Concede button, it will benefit survivors even more. Currently survivors die on hook to open hatch. If they do same while slugging, well it will be almost impossible to get 4k.

Yeah, but it's really frustrating when you get a killer on Ash IV (literally, the lower the rank, the more people tryhard, lol) who slugs for 4k and you literally cannot play the game. When you're slugged for this long, it's like you've lost and you cannot leave and you're forced to spectate the game.

I get it, everyone wants to get as much as possible from the match, but still that's like the worst (or one of) mechanic in the game. I remember Tru3 once said there should be something like if you kill 3rd survivor, 4th is revealed to you, he sees you as well, pallets are reset and you're stuck in a chase for X amount of time. You see survivor's aura from time to time and your goal is to catch him before the time runs out, if he outlasts you, he escapes. I think that would've been more 'fair'.

4 Boon totems spread throughout 60-70% of a map is also braindead, so if survivors have this, why killers cant?

OMG... first of all, you CAN get rid of totems. Do you understand difference between 'can' and cannot'? You CAN snuff out Boons, with your changes I CANNOT get rid of your 'hexes'. So no, Boons are not braindead, they are strong, not braindead like idea of 'hexes without totems'.

Second - Boons most likely will get nerfed. Geez, do you even understand the words 'TEST BUILD'? It's not out yet! They are TESTING stuff! That's the point of PTB, you go there, you TEST, you give feedback. I know BHVR works in a weird way sometimes, but I'm pretty sure they will tweak the numbers of Boon totems.

Third - if Boons were perks without totems, then yeah, Hexes could also work without totems. You can get rid of Boons, I can get rid of Hexes. You can do it also extremely quickly, I can't stop you from doing so, setting up Boons takes a lot of time, you can defend your Hexes, stop me from cleansing them...

Mocking is not the answer here, crying is never received as a valuable opinion, it's just that - crying. Give an actual opinion why Boons are too overpowered, propose a change. If people were only doing what you're doing, BHVR would never nerf/change anything, because they'd never take that kind of 'opinion' seriously.

Please read my response to the first guy, i've already answeared this idead of "OMG X perk would be so broken".

On the Exhaustion topic, i said "5 or 10%", devs could try it out and see which number fits best, but even with this small speed reduction survivors would still be able to loop for days using pallets and windows.

Take a look at clown, he reduces survivors speed by 15% and also make them slow vault windows, but even then, he still is one of the weakest killers in the game, i asure you there are several reasons for that, and a 5% decresed speed for survivors who already used one of their second chance perks won't change much, but could help a bit.

Yeah, because Clown has no map pressure, but 1v1 he's pretty decent, everyone can tell you that.

You still have absolutely no clue about what balance is and what you're trying to do is completely butcher one side. I don't know if you ever play as survivor, but you seem like an absolute killer main, who recently has miserable time and it seems fair to you, if devs gave you auto-win mode.

Again, your suggestion was never standing next to balance, you're just trying to make this game unwinable for survivors. I agree, that some killers are on the weaker side, but completely destroying survivors is not the answer.

Again again - survivor speed. You are already faster, 10-15%, if you still can't catch someone... it kind of is not devs fault. You have powers, bloodlust, you can mindgame as well as survivors. Sorry, but your problems with catching survivors are not the reason why they should be butchered to the ground.

As for perks, again - they would be EXTREMELY overpowered. I gave you an answer with a suggestion - play KYF match with those perks, make rules with your friends that they cannot touch totems, to simulate your idea. This will really be most braindead, easiest win of your life.

  • @DbD_Enjoyer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2538137#Comment_2538137

I think that whenver you have the Exhaustion status effect on you, your Running speed should be reduced by 5 or 10%.

That way there is a trade off for exaustion perks, which would probably bring more perk variety into builds in general.

So running at 90% vs 115%, who can bloodlust on top of that... yeah, I see how that wouldn't be broken.

    But as for Hexes:

    • Devour Hope would've been OP as hell, 3 hooks and you get permanent expose?
    • Crowd Control - simply broken, with your great idea of running at 90% chases would end in 10 seconds
    • Blood Favor - pretty OP if that wouldn't be Hex
    • Plaything - permanent stealth no matter what... yeah, that's obviously totally fine

You seem to be upset about Boons, okay, but still that post sounds like typical crying of a killer main who wants a total easy mode, not even easy, but auto-win mode. You REALLY and sincerely think this would've been balanced? Because your idea wasn't even near that word.

Plus Boons are good, yeah and BHVR will probably nerf them anyway, but you know you CAN get rid of them? Yes, they are good, but they aren't 'uncounterable'. Boons are nowhere near being as broken as your idea.

Play KYF match, equip DH, Ruin, Blood Favor & Crowd Control, make rules that your friends cannot interact with totems (to imitate your idea of Hexes without totems) and see how the game goes. I guarantee this will be a complete braindead, easiest win of your life.

  • Sure and notification when survivor tries to open the exit gate. And the slowdown should be equal to the distance of how far away is the killer, if killer is 20m away from the hatch/gate, survivors has to work 20 seconds more to open it.

  • We don't even know what boon perks are going to do any you're already crying.

  • @xnicolay said:

Well keep going BHVR, destroy every single killer.

Yeah, because they're not buffing Trapper and they didn't destroy hatches.

I have an idea - let's just remove exit gates, those bad, bad survivors have enough mechanics to help them.

  • I think Zubat was showing few times those amazing 'mindgames' - running and spamming M2 until survivor takes a bait and uses Dead Hard, or you just catch up.

There was casual mode before MMR and everyone complained they faced either hell strong killer or babies with less than 10h. It was literally 3 weeks ago. If u revert it back, crying won't stop. Now devs finally made somethin close to skill vs skill and suddenly those who enjoyed beating babies start to cry like they can't do it anymore. Otherwise i don't see a problem in chilling or whatever u understand behind it. If u don't want to escape or kill then just run all over map and do whatever u want, but don't ask beating babies casual mode.

I love how you twist my words into something I didn't say.

I didn't say I 'don't want' to escape/kill - I said I don't sweat my ass off to do this at any cost. If I get nice amount of points, it's my personal win. I play for fun actions, builds etc. Holding M1 and crouching in bushes just to escape with 10k points isn't why I play this game.

I didn't say that casual mode should be the only one - let's have two - rank mode with proper leaderboards, more rewards etc and casual, for those that don't want to count every second, sweat and tryhard at the expense of fun.

I didn't say skill vs skill is bad. I said like 10 times that if you are a sweaty tryhard, then stop complaining, you're there for a reason and that's fine, you're good and you finally are facing good players.

My point was simple - I don't get whining about high MMR. I played other games competitively and it's, arguably, NOT fun. Playing high level in MTG feels like a chore, like any other card game, same with PUBG and I'm sure it's like that with DBD. But that's the thing - it's not my problem. It's nobody's problem. If you want to jack off at your 'high MMR' then it's your problem that games are not fun at this level. That's with every game.

  • @R2k said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2517042#Comment_2517042

U are wrong. Every competitive game is balanced around top tier/tournament level players. None cares about babies whining about balance. Do u rly think League is balanced around silver players? Dota? Sc2? etc....

Dbd greatest problem is we don't have proper player statistics so we can't judge who is right and who is wrong and what perks they use. So it end up all about players crying all over. But also there are things vast majority agrees(example: Nurse is great against SWF and Trapper is useless).

Also u are wrong about MMR. Unless u intentionally throw game after game and refuse to become better at any cost, eventually u will become better, so suggesting to throw games on purpose is bad idea.

Games are mostly balanced around majority of the players. Yes, there are changes that aim to fix balance issues around top tiers/tournaments, but overall game is being balanced around the overall statistics. And stats are reliable the more data you have and do you have more data from 1% or 99% of the playerbase? If MTG: Arena was being balanced around competitive players, than Nexus of Fate wouldn't get banned and in Hearthstone also many other nerfs/buffs wouldn't happen. Tarkov is balanced around overall opinion, not about opinion of 0.5% of the playerbase, they have to adjust to the changes, not other way around.

Plus, I think you're confusing top tier/tournament players with decent/good players. I don't play LoL, but I'm sure the game is balanced around statistics they get from like 'decent' ranks. Yes, game is not being balanced around 'baby players', but I think you forget there's a long road between 'silver players' and top tier/tournament players.

I don't see where I'm wrong about MMR? That you should stop whining if you are so high? I stand by it. Again - years of being competitive MTG player - no one forced me to play like that, no one forced me to do tournaments. But when I do... I kind of have to adapt and play what's good in that environment. That's how it goes in every game; in casual mode you can mess around, have fun, play super funny builds and cards, but once you try to get to tournament level... you ditch fun deck that sometimes works and play something meta, strong and consistent.

Also no - I don't throw games on purpose, I just play and have fun. If there are players that sweat their asses, count each millisecond, because some actions are 'nOt oPtIMaL', tryhard as hell to get 4k, escape at all cost, even if they don't have fun, but they need to 'win'... sorry, but that's not my problem and they shouldn't complain the game is not fun for them. It's a gamestyle they pick. When I played MTG tournaments were also not really that fun, especially in comparison to fun matches with my friends, with actual FUN decks.

Maybe they should introduce actual leaderboards, so sweaty players could see themselves climbing that and also casual mode, with no ranking, no MMR, no rewards at the end of the month.

  • @OniHatesSWF said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2516377#Comment_2516377

Do you know why there're only 3 killers in high MMR?

Or you never get to that level?

You can keep quiet and play your low rank game match. Quietly.

Have you ever played any game in high MMR/ranking/competitively? I played MTG for 15 years and 5 years of it was absolutely competitively, going on tournaments etc. And you know what? In such high level environment only few cards/decks are viable. If you are really high, you have to play the best, you can't play decks with Chimney Imp and expect to win tournaments with it.

Decide what you want - high level of gameplay or casual fun. That's how it works in every game.

  • Well, I repair the gen when the killer is not around. I mean... what else I'm supposed to do? It's not like I have other objective you know. Am I supposed to stand and count 5 minutes till I can start working on the gen?

I usually go for totems, chests, because yeah - I don't like short games to be honest, repairing gens is the most boring part of the game. I seek the killer to get some chases too, that's why I play, for the interaction between two 'teams'.

But a lot depends on the killer, last night I played against the Huntress who was standing 3m away from the hook with hatchet ready to throw, so... I don't see a reason why I shouldn't do gens if the killer basically allows me to do that for free.

  • This is just typical crying, just like survivors cry about perks/killers and think they should be able to escape every single match - killer mains are doing the same thing; complaining about survivors' perks, thinking they should be able to 4K each match. You're not different than entitled survivor, you're just on the different team.

Oh and by the way, I absolutely love the 'high MMR' discussion. But you know what? No game ever will (nor should) be balanced around your top tier. If you truly are in the top tier, you're there for a reason, on your own demand and well... you gotta work with what's meta. But top tier is what? 5% of players? Bit more, bit less, but still VAST majority of players are not top tier and never ever will be. I don't know what's my MMR (by the way how do you know people know you have the 'highest'? Is there a way to check it? xD) I'm definitely a casual player and I seriously wouldn't want to play the game that would've been balanced around top 5% of tryhard sweaty players. No casual player would like that. And casual players are the majority, vast majority of this game. Any game.

And going back to playing on high level - what exactly do you even expect? Have you played any other game on high level? You know, I've been playing MTG for like 15 years, 4-5 years I played competitively, going on tournaments etc. And you think I was able to play some 'fun' cards and decks? No! If you're on that level, you play the best of the best, most overpowered cards that are allowed, you go for the win, so yeah, you play meta. It's boring, but that's the 'price' of playing competitively. When I play with friends, I play something that's actually more fun, but something that in competitive matches would've totally lost me the game.

So... again - if you're at the top of MMR, stop complaining about it, no one forces you to hit highest MMR and if you are there, you play meta, that's how every game works.

  • To be honest, new matchmaking system is kind of a lie I think. Or bugged.

I have around 800h in DBD total. Out of that I have like 50h of killer time. I played two Pinhead matches, before that I played 3 Ghostface games, like in July. And before that the last time I played killer was in late 2019/early 2020. So my question is - how big my MMR can realistically be? Yesterday and two days ago I tried playing killers again and I used killers I have never ever played before and... I was each time put against not only SWF teams, but people who individually have thousands of hours into the game. And yeah, they were really good, definitely much much better than my killer skills.

So... there aren't enough players that would have MMR as a survivor as low as my killer MMR?

  • The game has not enough objectives, not too much, #########? xD

Running for the box is great way to 'force' interaction between killer and survivor. Game has not enough mechanics like that. When you play against practically any other killer, you may hold M1 and 'win'.

  • @Peanits said:

This is normal. When you play a Killer for the first time, the game will base your rating on your other Killers rather than the default/lowest rating. From there, it'll adjust separately as you play. If you have a few bad matches, your rating with that Killer will lower and you'll start to get paired with Survivors that you're more comfortable with. If you're a natural with that Killer, it'll stay the same or even increase depending on how well you're doing.

This week I started playing killer again, a bit (really just a few games). Last time I played killer was in 2019. And all I'm getting are players that have thousands of hours into the game and play extremely well, especially comparing to my non existent skills as a killer. Is that normal too? I thought after such a long break my MMR on killer should be as low as possible.
