This fourm just makes me laugh even more at how whiny some players/Survivors are, lot of ya are some entitled pieces of work......
-
Oh darn it's late and I misread this thread xD I gave a response for an original Killer.... :'(
As for licensed, Pinhead would easily be my 1st pick or Krampus from the movie .
Pinhead could leave puzzle traps to solve, causing damage if you fail heavily. His weapons would be his chain, for a short to medium range hit, but have a mini stun for whiffed ones at a further distance.
Krampus would make use of different demented toys, maybe a pounce attack? -
I never bother with a standoff, could've had one and probably would've won it as Doctor...but it's better to get my smack and move on.
If I get to a Hatch as they jump and I grab em great, if not it's whatever. Otherwise I'll look for the Survivor until I either down em,or the escape.
Until something major changes I'm jus not gonna waste minutes standing around to "mindgame" the 50/50 on if I get em or not
The exception to contesting the Hatch is if I can Trapper or Hag trap the area and get em, either trapped or NOED em... -
I'd love a Mannequin-like Killer, that has decoy Mannequins to place around the map, which it could inhabit and be used as a jumpscare tactics as well as give it map pressure. Would have a small number to place as well a range in which to place each one
Could be seen as a Spirit/Hag mix. Would have a very odd way of moving, not sure on what kind of Perks it would have..but it's a start -
@scorpio
"I don't know what game you are playing but for me toxic survivors are toxic whether they live or die. If they die, I'm a camper/trash killer/tryhard. If they live, the game was ez/I'm a trash killer/git gud/etc. You cannot win with toxic survivors. They'll be toxic no matter what happens because their lives are sad. Note: I am only talking about toxic survivors, not all survivors. If you talk ######### to every killer after a match, I'm talking about you."
Only saving grace if being on console is I don't have to read any post game chat. Though that doesn't stop people from teabagging during the match. Had at least 2 tonight that did it on,pallet stuns or if I JUST barely missed a hit.
But yeah, unsportsmanlike players are going to be toxic in some way or another. I played this game as Survivor way before I took thr plunge to Killer and play both about 70/30 or 80/20 split.
But for those games as Survivor the only "toxicity" Ive seen is when a Killer repeatedly smacks someone on Hook, mostly seems to be when they farmed a Teammate or made a mistake: potato, missed Hatch or the alternative, when someone was toxic. Ive had no problems Hooking a toxic egotistical chump and making sure they stay there.
I only spare Survivors if a game went really badly for them (mostly when it's a 2 DC game early on...not if the game's been played and then DC at the end) or if it's a mutual farm game (rarely happens on console) -
Only ever had a Wraith be nice to me so far. Had a match where two DC'd when downed/ 1st Hook, then the third killed themselves on Hook.
I was the only one attempting saves and working on Gens. Wraith found me, we did a small chase but downed me and I didn't struggle and he then indicated for us to farm and so we both got a nice helping of Bloodpoints out of a situation that would've sucked.
I guess because I didn't DC or struggle let him know I was not a typical punk.
-
If he doesn't go "Ho Ho,Hooooo" after smacking someone or taking a Pallet hit, in place of his laugh, I'ma be sad
-
Sharp Hand Joe +Fire Up is already OP tho
/s -
All it would take is a Joe & Susie mask(accompanying animations too ofc) given alongside buying Legion and people wouldn't care about full costumes being sold.
It personally doesn't affect me, but I understand why some are raising concern over the tactic -
Dunno if intended, but there's plenty of sound issues/"changes". Trapper has a similar thing with his traps.
Either way, I don't like it -
@Tsulan
I personally think noed is fine. I dont get all this hate towards it."I don´t get the hate either. I guess it has something to do with that survivors think they won the game, once all gens are repaired. That they deserve to escape.
shrugs"I wont generalize amd lump all Survivors into the same group, but there's a fair amount that are entitled and feel they are the power role in this game. Many feel if the Killer isn't playing a certain way/using certain Perks that they're automatically a "tryhard" or "sweaty" which I find really hilarious.
I play both sides, but favor Killer, call me biased all ya like...but I see more Survivors on these boards complaining about Killers than I see the other way around, sans SWF talk, which mostly amounts to asking for a balance or slight tweak IE: extra BPs, notification it's a SWF and, my personal pick, Killer's Perks, Add-ons & Offerings not shown till the match is over for everyone.
And before some of you retort...no I don't expect a 4k every time I'm killer, I aim,for 4k and happily settle with whatever I end up getting, which at times is a 0-3k scenario.
-

Seriously, slowly work on getting all the Killers. Never know who you'll end up enjoying and having access to all the Perks gives you some flexible freedom of build making.
I personally say first Leatherface for BBQ & Chili and for Franklin's Demise, which are great Perks to start out with.
Spirit is a fantastic Killer with pretty strong perks, but she does have a bit of a learning curve. -
Gods no.....why not ask for Killers to be perkless at all times.....Survivors get enough information as is....there has to be some element of surprise, danger and the unknown.
The game already shows debuff icons when affected by Totems and status Perks... -

Nope........bad idea. Why does it matter if others get the skins after the event is over but have to pay money for em?
Hate the mentality of "I have this cool thing, others shouldn't". -
If they optimize and fix the damn console's framerate then I'm easily a lifelong player. Some maps as some killers is just the worst. Occasionally some Survivor matches I get run perfectly fine (seemingly better than when Im Killer) and then I encountered a Sloppy Butcher glitch where EVERYONE, even after being healed spurting blood and tanking the game to almost 5 frames....
Not to mention my GF and I have difficulty getting into a match as SWF, so that kills off a lot of me playing
so something is up with the matchmaking on console (seemingly at night), had a whole thing where 20-25mins went by without any matchmatch, she had to leave and not even a second, I was thrown into a match. It can't be that hard to find a game for 2 in a SWF
So, while I want this game to last damn near forever, it's in dire need of fixing....hire out people who can actually fix these things, because years of these same issues is unacceptable, esp when we're told misinformation, saying half truths...
I have a ton of love and support for this game, but at somepoint the lack of structural support from the Devs/Company is gonna be breaking the camel's back for others & myself. -
The only time someone doesn't leave that I won't really fault is when someone wants to find the Hatch for extra Bloodpoints (or bragging points).
But yeah holding the game hostage like that and being toxic is garbo -
By all means :] *Honk Honk*Delfador said:Forum users actually rank clown theme high.

Depends on the map and if any Mist was used. Had some framerate drop hard on Yamakoa Estate & Father's. Other places seemed alright, but, there was not a true optimization fix put into place.
-
Clown is one of my favorites, hands down a lot of fun! Sure he's not S tier, but I say he nearly gets into or just misses A tier. He's great with chases and can disrupt unhooks with a well-timed bottle. Love his Teachable Perks, even if Pop Goes The Weasel & Coulrophobia are considered "meh". There's some solid utility with him and def messes with some survivors that get too focused on a particular loop, just lacks the ability to apply map pressure

Because this looks like bait.Solo survivor has never been easier. I really don't understand what you are implying.
Oh and I'd say that we'll see more complaints about camping killers. Just a side effect when you nerf a perk that reduces camping.
Killers need to be the weak role... you want a bully simulator or what?
So I'm definitely the last one to complain about survivors being to hard and killer to easy. I believe this game has improved a lot with the latest patches balance wise. But explain to me how survivor is the easiest it's ever been. Survivors have seen multiple nerfs and killers have seen multiple buffs in the latest patches. Survivor definitely isn't nearly as easy as it was a half a year ago.
Also, complaining about camping is totally fine. Of course complaining about killers who camp isn't fair, since they are just using a valid strategy. Problem is that camping is a valid strategy right now, which isn't good game design. Don't you understand how unfun and boring it is to get camped and just stare at a hook until you die as survivor?
I was gonna write the same thing but @Tsulan is not like the others here, though he is biased, just like every single one of us, he thinks before he writes something. So I tried to understand what he meant and came up with this.
Solo survivor has never been easier. OP complained that playing solo is difficult now and tsulan said that playing solo was not easy to begin with, it has always been difficult and nothing changed much to ease the pain solo survivors have.
At least this is what I believe he meant to say.

SWF = should be renamed and redone as Ranked Matches
Solo = should be renamed and retooled as unranked Matches
Kill your Friends = should have no bearing on the game as it is kind of a freeplay/creative mode anyway. My two cents.
Also this communication/voice chat thing being tossed around as being game breaking is kind of hard to combat when consoles like PS4 and XBox have it built into their systems. Punishing PC users for using chat is just dumb, (I play on console btw.)
The people that argue against SWF just want ez 4Ks, they don't want to have to earn them.
They argue this game is competitive and SWF ruins that. Name one competitive game where a team doesn't get to communicate with one another, mental.

For console, the framerate is the biggest issue.
Perks that are seldom or outright never used (Adapt Trophies/Achievements and new Players using em don't count) need a HARD look & rework for. I LOVE this game and the Perks are one of the biggest reasons why. I love customizing a loadout/build and trying out new combinations...but when a large chunk are honestly worthless, like not even meme/weird/fun use...that's a problem.
Killer's Perks not being visible until EVERY Survivor has exited the Match, either killed or escaped. There is no reason for a potential SWF to call out what Perks a Killer is using and to counter it for that. Early Kills or endgame Perks are completely nullified if person A informs the teammates they have Blood Warden and a Downed Survivor DCs to let the othera escape via the Exit Gates... Such as:
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/a6bv7o/took_me_a_while_to_make_this_but_im_happy_with_it/
There are def other issues but these are some of the bigger ones imo -

I remember when first starting this game, brand new, barely looked at much information about Killers, Perks amd strategy (no regrets tho) and thought Surveillance was a nifty and decent Perk xD YEAAAAAAH first time as Pig I realized ALL too quickly how garbo it is....its insane they haven't reworked it by now. Id say at this stage it needs to be 100%overhauled.
While Legion's Discordance is pretty decent for lower Ranks and may have some initial use, it will be countered hard by coordinated SWF or savvy Survivors in general. I still like it tho. -
I want mah Clown menu music back xD

3 kills is not a win , right? xD
*looks at forums again, sees Killers asking for some tweaks/small buffs for Legion and a few Perks looked at*
Yeah, sorry you're not even close to the mark. The real story is people playing Survivor want the Killer to their rules/way and blame Killers when they capitalize on bad plays/potato'ing. While Killers want certain Killers and Perks to be looked at and something done about SWF situations...not even once about demanding 4ks all the time... -
I'm at the point I probably won't bother with thr Shrine. I play enough and get enough enjoyment as is, at my own pace and unlock the Teachable Perks decently enough. Besides, seeing a fair bit of the level 30 Perks (let alone seeing more I don't care about appear) is enough for me to say "Pass".
For Killers I'm moving right along, haven't really played Survivor in awhile (played a few matches for the 1st time in months) so I MAY be inclined for 1 or 2 Survivor Perks but ehh. -
It's still a fun Perk imo, and can be good for certain builds, but yeah it's not gonna be staggeringly good just as is, but with the right build, Killer and add-ons can def have some fun with it.
Im personally fine with how it is currently. I say go have some fun trying it out, not everything has ro be S Tier Perks/Meta imo :P -
I love the design behind Hex: Lullaby, I wish it was just a token based Perk where you generate tokens like Play With Your Food, Fire Up, Save The Best For Last. May be too complicated but wish it would target each Survivor separately, generate tokens but you lose then when hooking said Survivor?
I feel like it's a little too slow to gain any momentum and unlike most other Hex Perks, where you can get some millage out of em before it gets cleansed, Lullaby ends up a bit lower on the totem pole imo -

I already am a killer main, always have been... but I keep trying to play survivor because that's actually the aspect of the game that brought me in to begin with. I've been a killer main from the start because it's easier and less frustrating than playing solo survivor.Wolf74 said:@Avariku said:
I might go back to it after dedicated servers become a thing, but I can not [BAD WORD] stand playing survivor.every round is 1 of 4 things.
- Camper
- Killer with ######### signal that puts you at a blatant disadvantage
- DC leaving you at a blatant disadvantage.
- Legitimately skilled killer that kicks the teams ass.
yes, there are the occasional rounds where I'm not matched up with potatoes or run into a killer who genuinely doesn't get sweaty for kills... but you mix all of this with the lack of bloodpoints and the current bugs in the game, one of which refuses to accumulate my co-op actions for the daily ritual and its just one frustration after the other.
and yea, I could go on to list the myriad of bugs that plague this game, but a quick browse through this forum and you'll see it laid out for you.
the devs have done a great job in many ways, I won't pretend that the game isn't good, but the cons weigh out the pros far too horribly.
seriously bhvr, you need to fix this game, as it is it just feels like a shameless money grab from your customers.
I am really looking forward to see you become a killer main.
Lets wait some days maybe weeks and see how your postings will change.^^
and I've stated many times before that I have NO issue with patrolling a hook, that's just smart, same for tunneling... if I go back to a hook and the unhooker is already gone but the injured guy is sitting there healing like an idiot... he asked for it. (that wasn't really to you, just in response to some other comments)
my opinions on this will not change because this game is NOT survivor sided. SWF sided, sure... but survivor? no.
and don't give me that crap of "just go play another game." I paid the same for this game as you did, I'll take a break from survivor, but not the game. go [BAD WORD] yourself with that attitude. (again, not specifically to you, just in general to those that gave that response)
The devs NEED to fix the blatant imbalance between solo and SWF. period. Survivor is not fun for solo and the lack of earning any significant BP by playing that role is just a slap in the face.
as I mentioned on another thread, there's so much that favors killer indirectly that it makes solo survivor painful to play.
- lag favors the killer
- pallets aren't responsive lately meaning I'm standing there mashing the button but the pallet doesn't drop until I'm already hit or down.
- camping favors killers against randoms not SWF.
- survivor DC favors killer, which is the only one who gets a BP bonus for it too.
the list could go on, but I already know it won't do any good preaching this to other killer mains, they just want their 4k's and obscene power roles while survivors are there only for their entertainment. -
I know how I feel will change if I allow myself to Rank up more, but currently having a lot more fun than anticipated and its been rewarding on improving my gameplay as them, even if end result is less kills (still getting high amounts of Bloodpoints tho).
But there's a lot to like at lower levels currently for me, but since I have other priorities for my Bloodpoints with getting other Killers to lvl40 for Teachable Perks (late to getting into DbD, joined when it was free on PS+ around the BBQ Summer event) my Legion is naked at level 1 using a single Perk xD guess I'm a masochist with that.
That said, higher ranks will more than likely be far more punishing to play Legion without a good Perk build and add-ons. So while I'm still all for/pro Legion on just about everything, from their look, their backstory, their cosmetics, their Perks (fun change up/meme stuff, which I like) and a great ability...mostly... I still feel Legion needs some tweaks and fixes for higher rank/coordinated teams and for the future as a whole. -
I play on console and have given the Nurse a few goes recently. I'm pretty bad with her as a whole, but have moments where I shine as her. I WANT to do better with her, getting a 2k and nearly a 3k (damn Kobe while I had two hooked and ping'd between em) made me feel decently confident in doing better, even with a horrid match on the new map.
It just takes a lot more effort to get the Blinks down decently, when to not use all your blinks and as mentioned, understanding the group of Survivors you're facing AND their habits/ways of playing.
If you can get that down decently, you have a chance to really put pressure on a Survivor team. That said, Clown, Hag, Michael Myers and Spirit are more my mains (I play every Killer off & on, some more than others tho). So, at least for console, Nurse is not mandatory. I know on PC she's bit different in how well her snipe and snap hits can be at being effective.
For myself personally, I'm going to keep practicing with her but I'm not sure if I'll fully commit to mastering her and playing her seriously xP. -
*shakes head*
It never ends.... -
My only thing I need to learn and practice is how to better scout the map and deal with a coordinated team that fully split up and nullify the full use of my ability and end up running around like a mouseHatCreature said:Most games I can't catch up to Survivors as much as I'd like but I have has one awesome moment where my Frenzy ended rght by a Feng Min and I was close enough to chase her normally, then she ran into a wall and couldn't turn away in time so I downed her.
I'm having a hard time finding the right way to down people because everyone I watch uses good purple addons and I have all these browns and some yellows, totally different playstyle with those.

"Killers who get sweaty"
Pffff, Using that unironically is pretty hilarious.
Your other points are easily rebutted
-Patrol and Proxy camping are fine, esp with all the aura hiding with lockers and Distortion, Killers are going to assume or err on the side of caution that if they Hook someone and see no other auras via BBQ, that at least one other Survivor is nearby....no-one is guaranteed a free unhook. Not to mention if a Killer notices a SWF or overtly altruistic group, to expect people to run over....not even remotely the Killers fault...stop acting like we should turn a blind eye
Facecamping from the get-go/start is the ONLY tactic I won't defend
-Not our job or fault if your teammates DC, I always personally give a rule of thumb that if two DC at the start I attempt a farm match, or if DCs happen throughout to do the same or just give Hatch...but to chastise Killers that don't is laughable, some rather move on and play a full game.
-Survivors that potato, it happens with everyone who plays this game. You can either accept it or move on. This again doesn't fall to the Killers to give leniency for bad plays or lack of skill. Don't forget gamers of all types play this, young old, disabled and ones who just can't grasp the higher strategies/tactics.
The only caveat I will ever give is that if a Killer DCs, full points you've earned up till that point and a quitter bonus and keeping your items should be given...
-
Things can suck, I won't deny that...but there are multiple posts by thrm adnauesem about how bad Killers are and there's already a topic relating to this very topic of theirs.Unicorn said:
I don't think they're necessarily mad at a killer, I believe they're more so upset with the way the game is for survivors right now. The game is asymmetrical where 4 people have to work together, it's going to be inherently one-sided when the team can't work together, fall for bait or can't keep a killer busy enough.
The best solution other than a break/don't play is to get/make friends for better coordination in a SWF which can easily give you a better chance.
To each their own but I laugh when a Killer has face camped me and the other players go and gen rush them. Yeah not always the case, but take it with a grain of salt....its all fair in love and war and it's def war in this game. -
That's a pretty bad Killer to jus hook you like that. I would've tried to farm and let you go in such a situation
-

The weirdest thing for me is that Ive had matches as Legion, that were enjoyable (lower Rank due to reset and a weird event of me losing Rank and pips desoite safety pipping) as I got to stab people, though with only base perks & 1 perk slot open, I'm not quite going to perform overly well.
I end up with about 1-2k result games (still getting the hang of the speed and screen zooming while on console, a bit jarring/vertigo feeling) and end up doing a lot despite not dominating games....and I end up with MORE BP than I do with my games where I get 4k results (not counting BBQ, other BP Perks and offerings here) nearly 30k in one match where I only secured one kill.
If nothing else at least Legion is fun lower ranked and a BP machine if you can stabby stab people a lot. Which is negated/diminished the higher you Rank up and go against decent Survivors/SWF groups.
-
Since Legion is 4 individuals:
My Chemical Romance, Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, Iced Earth, Dimmu Borgir, Twiztid -
One wish I have is to notify us when it's a SWF group... Overwatch shows people when it's a group working together.
I doubt it'll ever happen, but there should be a bonus of BPs for Killers going against a SWF if they're just gonna leave things as is...Ive had games where I downed a SWF player/get them set to be sacrificed and they DC and their friend instantly leaves as well...screwing over the solos -
Lmao...you people are hilarious
-
I find it hilarious when Survivors DC because they get downed/hooked first, or a teammate unhooks them when Im,still near and down em again... Had a game as Spirit where someone DC'd at the start, then had a guy kept Teabagging me, got em twice and they teabagged at a pallet then dc'd.
Other teammate after getting hooked and using Deliverance DC'd as I dropped em. Downed the last guy and gave em Hatch xD. They were new and didn't understand what I was doing and wiggled free twice, had to down em and find it first xD
Sucks for Survivors to get f'd over, but for me, I'll always give hatch as long as the person wasn't being a toxic one -
On console it can be worse with some maps dropping framerate with Survivors spazzing out, using dense mist offerings...it's fairly rough...the game needs a full deep clean rework on how stable it is. The new map has a tendency to hard crash the game too...
-
Yep, so much this. I'll always proxy and patrol a fresh Hook and then fan out...but when Gen rushing happens...you force our hands.GraviteaUK said:@MyNamePete said:
cAmpIng iS A leGIT stra Te G Y!1yes its obviously not bannable but it's not fun to go against
Neither is a 4 man SWF with that guy with hook blockers and a torch but here we are.
End of the day most killers don't find it fun to camp either but against some of these bully teams that is the only strategy to mitigate de-pips
Had a game as Leatherface, three of the Survivors brought Bloody Party Streamers, so,it was obviously a 3 or 4 man SWF. I made one attempt to communicate for us to farm, downed a guy and took him to an open Gen for all to see, let him wiggle off and he proceeded to run.
Ended the chase shortly and Poor 3 gens done, they got an unhook as I went to look for others, downed the rescuer and hooked em *pop* gen done. By the time I went to smack a gen and get another down, final gen done and the person unhooked...found someone and downed em and had to camp to get one kill....ended up with a 3k as they were overtly altruistic and kept bouncing between downs and hooks.
So yeah, essentially in two and a half chases and two hooks with an attempt to not camp, all the gens were finished. Sure some killers facecamp from the get go, but Id wager a fair bitnof us are forced to with how the fast Survivors can be
