  • How hard is it to adjust the values and try them in ptb? I realize a total rework takes more time but a lot of perks just need some value adjustments. Why not try Boil Over at 20 m? It just seems like there's so much reluctance to change the perks to the point where nothing gets done. Perks are languishing. Give some perks a little love and see how it works out.

  • What we really need is for Survivor names to be suppressed, on PS4 red ranks? It's horrible, you run into the same Killers all of the time and they begin to know you and that's not a good thing. They either Dodger or Camp if they perceive you as being toxic.

  • Why would anyone run autodidact with 25% when they can just simply run botany knowledge with 33%?

  • Are we ever going to see Killers be forced to think, memorize and work a little bit during the end game collapse? Currently the EGC holds their hand, they perpetually see the exit gate auras and can see the progress light.

  • I'm actually surprised Behavior doesn't just Implement an in-game code Redemption option like other games have.

You can't mind game a hook. If you've been getting hooked due to trying to mind game something you can't mind game I feel bad for you. Yeah if it was to accelerate the speed of wiggling then it would need to lose everything else it does.

I didn't mean about the hooks, I meant in general. Basically there's very little you can do regarding hooks. Even if you sabotage hooks, there's still ten other hooks in the area. Especially coupled with iron grasp.

Why would it have to lose everything else it does? Doesn't iron increase wiggle meter by 25% and reduce the struggle Effects by 100%? Besides I'm not even sure that would make a difference, like I said there are hooks everywhere.

  • Yeah it's terrible, you definitely rarely get the tokens credited.

  • Sometimes it's close but I've had it happen many times where I've not only safely landed but I started moving away and I still get struck. Not fun! I really hope dedicated servers mitigate a lot of these issues. Especially the massive hitboxes which for some Killers is like the entire screen.

  • The Killers have it so easy anyway! They see the exit gate aura in perpetuity from anywhere on the map, they can see how much you've invested in exit gate progress and in many cases they can watch both doors concurrently and in every case they don't even have to get very close. What about only temporarily displaying the aura? Make the killer work a little bit. And adding some obstacles so the killer has to physically get close to the exit gate rather than look at it from 50 m. Or just get rid of the progress indication?

  • It doesn't work and it sucks. 14 is not enough and 75% should be buff to 100% to truly counter iron grasp. It should also accelerate the wiggle meter by 25%. I don't know it just feels like there's always a hundred hooks in every nook and cranny on the map. There's no opportunity for Mind Games, does it matter where you go because there's always a hook right around the corner.

  • I'm also not confident they actually do anything about it. There's one killer in red rank on PS4 that I pretty much have played against every night and he lags a lot while appearing offline so you never know who the Killer is until after the match is over. I have reported him several times including video evidence and nothing happens. I've also seen Killers take you across the map down to the basement without iron grasp because it's so laggy you don't know what's going on.

  • Mori's aren't fun to go against and why people DC when they see them. There is no skill associated with them and no counter. Same with TS. Not to mention, no Survivor equiv for either. What about only working on death hook? That would be more fair. Or succeeding a difficult Skill Check to fight back and get away?

  • People were complaining about survivors holding the game hostage but that's exactly what killers are now doing! They're holding the game hostage, I've been in games were Killers for whatever reason decide not even to kill the fourth person.

Those cosmetics basically come in the form of a Steam product key, so there would be no way to activate them on console at this time. This is a big part of the reason why we haven't made new exclusives in a while.

Why don't you just add them to the PSN store? Or just give them out at a future event as codes for console?

  • @applepie_1998 said:

Survivors DC’ing before game starts is more than justified. Why stay in a game where you won’t earn as much points as well as being tunnelled straight off the hook to be mori’d? If anything they should show what the hidden killer offering is, so survivors know if it’s an ebony mori or not.

killers aren’t innocent either, I have seen many disconnects because of map offerings, stacked BPS offerings and lobby dodging if they see too many medkits, flashlights, toolboxes, or a hint of an SWF group. Difference is that the killer can take steps to counter some of these issues (Use of OP addons, Franklin’s demise) While survivors are completely powerless against ebony mori.

Exactly right! You get tunneled and then killed, that's no fun! I think you should only be able to Mori after the second hook or if someone's already entered the dying.

  • I actually agree with OP, I was disappointed and hardly anything was shown. Basically a lot of talking but not much actually revealed. And just to clarify, everyone has an OPINION on the stream. There's no right or wrong answer, so some people here need to stop acting like there is.

@Nicholas I'm just super confused we don't even get perk reworks or something?

We wait a month and a half for Ghostface to be told to wait a month and a half for a freddy and badham rework.

Then we will wait another 6 weeks for the next hopefully full chapter we should have gotten 3 months prior.

Just ghostface as Ch 12 would've made sense if we were getting anything else like balance changes/charms/map changes and so on...

I'm not a big fan of the Chapter every three months commitment if it can mean just a Killer or even just a Survivor. I agree it wouldn't be so bad if they were launching other stuff on 06/18 as a one-time situation and calling it the Ghostface Page. It makes me wonder if C13 will just be a new Survivor.

  • This is basically a Page, not a Chapter. No Survivor and no Map but they are "committed" to doing one chapter every three months and so will just adjust the expectation that a Chapter can now just be a Killer. They might as well update Leatherface and Ash to Chapter status.

  • @Kagrenac said:

We got a solo survivor just a while ago.

But that wasn't called a Chapter? I was under the impression Chapter meant Killer/Survivor/Map. Leatherface also wasn't considered a Chapter. This is a huge disappointment.

@FireHazard For me the tunnelling is just as much a problem as the DC-ing. Maybe more. Cause it happens almost every game. To me, that is loosing fun quickly as a survivor. Its the few games where killers actually try to do their best and not just be a prick for which i play this game.

I dont see what me staying in a tunnelling game has for an advantage. When you get downed again 1 second after your feet touch the ground, what good am I in that way to the team? Has nothing to do with being farmed or my teammates doing unsafe rescues. With killers like that, there is no chance at a safe rescue. just the tunnel life.

I run BT. I do saves. And its actually scary how many times that BT goes off. Its basically the same as DS. if you get hit with it, it means you are just a low life scummy killer. And most of them are. And i hate to have to bring a perk in the game that does nothing for me, to counter a fifth perk the killer is using. Because downing someone straight from the hook and get rewarded for it, is basically a free perk. And a very strong one, cause there really is no counterplay. A tunnelling killer will always get you.

I agree, and anti-tunnel perks don't really do much and aren't fun to use. DS is a prime example, many Red PS4 Killers will simply slug you and let the timer run out prior to picking you up. The real issue is everyone wants to see bans but that won't accomplish much. Why are people actively and repeatedly DCing? This is the question we need an answer to. Other games have faced many DC issues and when the Devs didn't just implement bans, but surveyed and talked about it with players they discovered the root of the problem and corrected it.

  • Prestige BW is a joke.

  • EGC heavily favors the Killer, they can easily find Hatch due to speed and freedom to move about aggressively. They see the Exit Gate icon highlighted in perpetuity, often both are so close anyway. Why not highlight it for a few seconds and then vanish? That would provide at least some opportunity for a Survivor to Escape and the Killer to do something other than patrol all the map auras. People take about holding hands? Seeing Auras all game is exactly that.

@Nicholas I can agree, certain Killers play-styles are to be questioned of course. Some of them lack class, or even a plan when going about things in a trial.

But regardless, you shouldn't DC because of it still. You shouldn't DC under ANY circumstance in-general its not the way to go, of course its easier to just leave and move on.

But then that just makes you apart of the problem if you do that... You won't always face Killers like this, so I don't see the reason to use such drastic measures.

I didn't say anything about me disconnecting, and I didn't say I necessarily agree. I was merely pointing out another example of why people may disconnect. In the example outline, I think the killer shouldn't be able to hold survivors hostage. IMHO the Survivor should have the option to accelerate the bleed out and simply die on the ground.

  • @FeelsVeryBadMan said:

Imagine complaining about DCing when you're playing Prayer Beads. Sorry, but I totally understand why people DC against that.

You're saying that it's not fun for you, but ask yourself this: Is it fun for the Survivors?

DCing when you get downed or when it's a killer you don't like is not okay, but playing against something that has little to no counterplay justifies DC imo.

PS: I do not support DCing in any way, but I totally understand when people DC against something like this.

TS is another one that isn't Fun! I think the problem with all of these request is that it doesn't get to the heart of the issue. Why are people disconnecting? Why are people going to torture themselves if they're not having fun? Another big issue are killers that slug you just to get the final Survivor. It's one killer I went against last night was really after my friend and a random was in the dying state for what felt like 30 minutes, and he would come back with deerstalker pick him up and drop repeatedly. He was using him as bait with Insidious, and fortunately the random messaged my friend and said he was going to disconnect and to go to the hatch. Needless to say The Killers greed cost him a sacrifice and the other person got to escape. Not to mention the fact that he was holding this one Survivor hostage, it was very boring to watch the whole thing.

Did you guys speak to the owners of Scream as well and did they rejected you guys' offer? Would be strange of them.

Sometimes they can't reach an agreement aka money issues. One side may have wanted too much.

  • Pennywise would be great! I would love to see everything you outlined. The map would be really interesting with the sewers.

  • @Timtom24 said:

YES, that would be a chapter that i would love! i always wanted a desert map in dbd... that would be perfect for the mummy, i loved Rick O'Connel in the movies so that would be a positive thing to if he would be in the game as survivor. Hamunaptra would be the perfect map ... i mean the special name of the city is City of the Dead ... its a must have xD

Yeah I would love it. I'm surprised this section doesn't have more activity. It's a great way to get the developers to notice some ideas.

  • It's not really balanced in most situations, especially when Exit Gates are spawned on same wall or so close you can watch both easily. After you've invested some progress on one gate, it is almost always too late to try for the other. So all the Killer has to do is patrol both and at a certain point, you're doomed. He doesn't have to seek you out, only deny the one gate with progress and let the EGC kill you. It's too easy for the Killer, beyond speed and freedom, he also sees both Exit Gate auras on a permanent basis AND the progress indication via the red lights. What if he couldn't see the auras but for a few seconds? That would require some effort to memorize them like Survivors do.

  • @tennmio said:

On ps4 tunneling is kind of the playstyle. It's rare for killer not to tunnel sadly. It's such an egoistic move and so boring, but most killers in purple and red ranks tend to do it lately.

Also PS4, at Rank 5 atm and 100% tunnel. They tunnel so hard they ignore everyone just to get you. And DS, BT, nothing works! lol Also running into Killers leaving people on the ground and letting DS timer run out. The one build that works well for me has been: Flip-flop, Boil Over, Tenacity and Unbreakable. Especially the last two, many Killers get confused when you seemingly vanish by crawling away so fast and far.

  • Super useless, who will bother with generators when they are the last one? Killer and Survivor are both looking for Hatch to start EGC. I remember discussing this Perk with a friend before EGC went live and I thought it would allow the Survivor to hear the Hatch at a slightly greater distance or something more useful. Wake-up is another one, needs a buff. It's a shame the perk was indeed left behind by the devs.

  • @TreemanXD Sure, thanks. It would help to see what it looks like.

@thesuicidefox Thanks for the further details.

  • @GrootDude said:

@Nicholas the killer (without calm spirit) could see an idea of where you are in the form of a scream bubble on IW you leave a locker and on rancor you do a gen. Myc you scream but do not give your location away.

I had no idea, I will have to find a video showing this. Thanks.

  • I'm confused by all these screams, I have never seen this happen before. When do you scream with MYC or IM or Rancor?

  • @Blueberry said:

As Clogwrench said, it may be very difficult if the gates are too close but it is also basically a free escape when they spawn on opposite sides of the map as well. Something that is even guaranteed on maps like The Game.

The devs have also already recognized these two outlying situations and have decided that they balance each other out and don't need changing. Some games you'll get the bad scenario and some games you'll get the good one.

Just to clarify, they decided atm not to change but left the doors wide open for this topic to be revisited. They simply didn't want to change too much right now and await feedback. I do agree there needs a minimum and maybe other things. The Killer can perpetually see the Exit Gate panel and knows when progress is made, basically hand being held mode. It would be interesting if the panel wasn't visible so the Killer has to actually memorize something and it could provide some challenge. The Survivor is time pressured to escape, and if they have invested time in opening a gate and the Killer returns? It's over, the Killer simply has to camp that Exit and guarantee the Kill. There is no incentive for them to chase you or provide some challenge. It's just camp that Gate for the kill.

  • @SmokePotion Oh ok thanks. So it seems like this is the non-movie version of him. He still looks pretty cool. I just hope he comes with a Survivor and map.

  • Yeah, just The Killer rewarded for failing to kill you in the first place. The fact that they get full kill credit just provides no incentive to actively seek you out. I think some pressure should be applied to the Killer as well.

Finishing a Generator tells the Killer where you WERE, not where you ARE.

Meaning you have a good chance to not let the Killer know where you went.

I played as Killer this weekend too: Never had problems with lobbies, so i'm sorry that you're having troubles, but the game isn't having troubles...in that regard.

Depends on what Perks are at play. Tinkerer? lol

  • Find the Hatch and go in, the can't interupt you anymore. I think most will simply wait for the Killer to close it if they see one on it. At that point, good luck because they can easily patrol both and if they notice the red lights will know which one you're on and likely patrol it more frequently. Not to mention some maps allow easy view of both or sometimes all three options.

  • The Exit gates need a minimum distance and imho need more obstacles so you can't easily watch both. Killer's already have significant speed advantage and can usually easily patrol both. I guess it's all about luck at that point, but I admit the chance seems pretty slim.

  • I wish they would conceal Survivor names to avoid all this drama. I especially hate red on PS4, you run into the same few Killers and eventually if you're good enough, they dodge you or tunnel. I got hate mail from a Killer because I used DS at the Exit Gate and escaped.

  • Can someone explain what happened? What did he say that got people upset? And is Ghost the TV show one?

  • Wow those are cool. Glad to see her get some outfits. I can only hope more Killers do. I gotta look up the licensed killers and see potential outfits. Idr if Freddy ever changes outfits.

  • @XavierBoah17 said:

I think alot of the "situational perks" should be changed. For ex Slippery meat gives 25% chance to escape bear traps yet its chance to even play against a trapper

I think this is a big issue with a lot of cool perks. 99% are super situational or highly dependent on The Killer. Otherwise they are wasted, so most flock to running the same more universally applicable perks. Calm Spirit is nice but how often do you run into The Clown or The Doctor or Infectious Fright? I'm not sure how it could even get adjusted. Small Game could use some tweaks, maybe increased cleansing and disarming speed?

  • @Mat_Sella said:

It's fun, i just hope they implement a Minimum Distance Between Gates so they arent on the same wall in very close proximity to each other

I agree, I have seen some horrible spawns where the Hatch is right between both Exit Gates and all three can be watched without moving. The Devs don't view this as a problem and said for now at least, they think it's a fair trade-off where some matches the exits will be far and some close. However they will revisit this if needed after EGC goes live. Imho there needs to be a minimum distance to avoid this scenario.

So two wrongs make a right, now?

Personally I would prefer if moris were more like Cypress mori.

Also, unlike a mori, you can just bring MoM every single game, for free.

I didn't say that, just found it interesting to read about the fairness and frustration aspect of it.

    @DBD_Pinhead said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/459529#Comment_459529

False equivalency. Mori goes away, you earn them, and are finite. It's the killers job to kill anyway. MoM is a perk, used by everyone, and stacks with others to make survivors look like they're agents of The Entity instead of the killer.

Eh, I never run into MoM as a Killer. In fact only once whereas I have run into Mori's and Tombstones much more often. MoM isn't used by every Survivor, I rarely see it as a Survivor. I have used it once or twice but prefer other perks personally. With that said, Survivors are supposed to survive and yes Killers will kill.

  • Every argument against mettle, including the ones that say it's not fair, it's too easy, there's no counters, can easily be applied to Mori.

  • Is that the killer or the survivors hitbox? It seems like it's the Survivor hitbox, which is already huge. So many times I Vault a window and clearly land safely and they hit the windowsill but I still get struck.

  • @NurseMainBTW said:

You kidding? The new outfit is gorgeous! I instabought it as soon as I saw it.

None will complain that I play Claudette now wearing this FAAABULOUS dress! <3

Can someone post pics or video of in-game footage? It is nice but sometimes the in-game looks awful.

  • Visually they are very cool but from a Survivor perspective, I really dislike them. And I run into them enough. There's no counter, there's no way to escape. In the meantime you're deprived of any opportunity to earn points, and you'll likely depip. And all of this happens completely out of your control. This is a really problematic Concept in a rank based mode.

Maybe this would be the perfect time for the game to introduce extremely difficult skill checks for killers? Want to execute someone? Pass an extremely difficult skill check and if you fail you've lost the offering. I wouldn't care if it provided a safety pip. Especially Judith's Tombstone within 30 seconds of the match starting lol

  • @Bongbingbing said:

For anyone saying MoM is fine, Let's introduce a Killer perk of the same equivalent.

After hitting a Survivor 3 times, the next hit on said survivor in the healthy state is an instadown. After hooking the survivor, your Aura will be revealed when you are farther than 12/14/16 metres from the Survivor.

You see how broken that is? Free instadowns and Free Second chances need to have serious drawbacks because of how strong they are. The Devs should know this, and probably did but went ahead and made an OP Perk for ash to sell him.

I wish there was a Survivor equivalent to Judith's Tombstone or a Mori. What would that look like? Upon spawning in the trial, find the exit gate and instantly open it for an escape? And then the second would complete a generator and another randomly-chosen generator will be automatically completed. A free instant exit with no requirement other than just finding the exit. I think many killers would complain, if they joined a match and within minutes everyone got to escape because they just happen to have a certain add-on or offering. Depriving them of any opportunity to pip, or earn any points.
