  • That would be cool. Kate could be Alice, maybe Jane as the Queen of Hearts? Claudette, not sure yet.

What's to stop any other killer from just tunneling you and camping you on a hook anyways if they apparently want you dead so badly then? Pig doesn't need RBTs to do that -- nor does any other killer.

You're not being "held hostage" in a trial if the opponent is actively trying to kill you to remove you from the trial via death instead of the exit gates.

This logic of "game should just end when 5 gens are finished" from some of the community and apparently the devs themselves is dumb imo. If that's the case, then why even have the EGC in the first place. Just make the game end and if it's apparently supposed to end. Instead all we got was hatch closing which was programmed a year ago and held back for god knows what damn reason and what essentially amounts to a concede button for the killer that takes 3 minutes to take effect.

Being Hooked isn't the same as RBT on you. If someone is camping, not much you can do but an RBT doesn't guarantee a kill. If at any point the Killer wants someone dead, they will die. That goes without saying. So RBT doesn't change that.

I don't think five gens means game over but it is the beginning of the end, however Survivors still need to open the gates and escape and Killers can still kill. A lot can happen in those three minutes.

@fenshing She certainly can't currently camp all four but she can patrol them enough to force a Survivor to just go for it or face a guaranteed death in three minutes.

  • Not sure if I agree, but if the choice is allow them to activate upon EGC or not? Then yes, I agree with the changes to her.

  • It sounds like too much of a chore, besides how do you address the tunneling and Jigsaw box camping that will be inevitable? Not to mention the fun factor. I don't want to be held hostage in a Trial. The Pig just has to use her RBTs before the 5th gen is done. EGC is about accelerating the conclusion of the Trial, not making it tedious and prolonging it for either side.

  • Absolutely not! I think a lot of people are missing the point of what's trying to be accomplished with the endgame collapse. It's not about making things easier or harder but rather it's about bringing the match to an end. I have never been in a match where survivors refuse to open the gate after the 5th gen is completed. However I have been in many matches were both exit gates are open and people are still lurking and taunting and searching chests and cleansing totems. That's what the endgame collapse addresses, and it accomplishes those goals because everyone's limited to 3 minutes.

  • I don't blame them at all. It's boring but effective. I wish I could wear brighter outfits, like that new upcoming white dress but nope. I feel like I get tunneled asap with them on.

  • Is anything going to be done about the location of the exit gates especially in relation to the hatch? I've seen the hatch spawn perfectly in the Middle where you can watch both exit gates very easily. I've also seen situations where the exit gates are so close that it would be impossible to open them undetected.

  • It can still be really useful, but I assume as soon as you get one generator done the Killer is just going to close the hatch and initiate the collapse anyway. Not to mention the associated risk of revealing exactly where you are for a few seconds and possibly not being able to make it to another generator or find the hatch in time. I think it most cases people are simply going to carefully look for the hatch like they do now and as soon as the killer closes it, just go try to find an exit gate.

  • I totally agree with Milo, if anything I want the option to accelerate my bleed-out on the ground to encourage Killers to hook me or I will die and deny you the hook altogether. I hate being held hostage in the game, I can't do anything but crawl until I die or they find me.

DC penality is weighed against total amount of games played. So if someone dc's say 5% of their games purposely, but they play 15 or 20 games a session then they will never really get dinged by the system. The game is also problematic in terms of stability. You can be force dc'd while loading in or even mid game due to the game just losing its mind for a moment. So getting hit for it is going to be rare. Also the devs don't really put out metrics on negative behavior and punishments to said bad actors so it makes the issue seem that much more under handled.

Is it based on Lifetime matches? So if I played a grand total of 500 matches and never once disconnected, how many times could I disconnect before action was taken? I'm just trying to understand the system.

  • What happens if the Killer slugs and the timer runs out? This will encourage Killers to slug even more so than before and just leave you on the ground for the Entity to consume you and get the kill credit.

His default outfit, of course. His clothing doesn't matter when you're hiding in lockers 24/7.

Why are Dwight's known to hide in lockers?

You can't reasonably get rid of camping in this game cause in the end it will always be exploited. The best you can do is run one or more of the many anti camp/tunnel perks

The BPs debit needs to be more generous to try and discourage the behavior. What are the anti-camp perks? Afaik there is nothing to protect the rescuer? That's the real issue for many people, can you even get the hooked person that may have DS or Mettle off? Even the anti-tunnel perks don't do much. Run DS and if you keep a chase going for a minute, DS is rendered useless.

  • @GrootDude said:

@QwrtyMan213 that is every match on PS4 though.

Exactly. What I have been doing with good results in dropping them a little early and usually perfectly stuns them without me getting hit. Another issue is getting hit around corners. I have replayed some clips and it seems like the game lunges the Killer around a corner to hit you. Going thru windows is problematic too, you're clearly on the other side and the Killer hits air and you get struck.

  • That's what I understood, just wasn't sure. It happened to me and someone else. Gonna send a video in to the bug report. Thanks.

Trick is to force them to use their m1 but looping at a pallet or a window. Well that with Billy or Leatherface anyway. HUntress is more tricky as she can throw hatchets at you through pallets and windows. Id say with her its mainly trying ti get her to waste her hatchets so she is forced to m1 you

Very tricky, she can even throw them way above your head and to your left or right and still hit. Not to mention they go around corners too.

  • They need to reduce or adjust the Hooks, the changes rendered Boil Over pretty pointless and Wiggle feels silly in most cases.

  • The issue is a Survivor DC doesn't end the match and deprive everyone of any BPs gain or possible safety Pips. I have stayed in matches where one DC and can still safety Pip as Killer (depends on rank). However if a Killer DCs, you lose a Pip. It's considered disruptive to the experience when players are deranked in this way. And the fact that players will move to lower ranks simply due to DCs. We want players in the right rank, not a 1 survivor in rank 10 due to DCs.

  • Maybe Boil could counter Iron Grasp and increase wiggle speed by 14%.

  • Yeah I really would love the new music cues, especially the Lunar New Year theme. And I hope the soundtrack is sold at more vendors.

  • Here's an idea, why don't they make the hex ruin invisible until at least five generators are completed? Maybe that would be better? I feel like sometimes yes it's in a conspicuous spot and other times it's in a very inconspicuous spot, sometimes you can't even find it. It's a trade-off, but I think Killers expect that ruin is going to be the new objective. It does nothing for me because sometimes I run Stakeout or I'm just really good at getting hex skill checks.

Killer pip system is fine with the exception of losing because people Dc/ kill them selves on hook.

this fix we got was to address the fact that there weren’t enough people who could rank up, causing major issues with queue times at the higher ranks.

Yes which created a lot more issues with killers at rank one going against Rank 10 survivors.

  • Is there a detailed explanation of this perk anywhere? I have a few questions about it. Which hits are considered bugs right now? I know the nurse blink is bugged. And this is the part that I'm not sure about, so if I get hit and metal of man is activated and right after I heal the killer can permanently see my aura until I've hooked again? Now what happens after I'm hooked again and I heal? They can no longer see my aura right? Now what happens if I'm down immediately after metal activated and I never get to heal, and I'm hooked? The killer would not see my aura because I've been hooked after the perk activated?

  • Yeah I think so too actually. It's a way to punish and discourage that behavior because there's nothing less fun than being basically locked out of the match until the killer decides to come retrieve you or someone recovers you. Outside of the occasional spotting of a Survivor nearby, killer is really should be hooking but it feels punishing as a Survivor to just be lying on the ground. Sometimes I want them to find me but they can't find me lol

I really wish PSN would record/let players see data like this; I'm really curious now how many bloodpoints I've earned throughout my time playing DBD.

Yeah the achievements tracker on Xbox is really cool, I would love this on PS4. I suspect we'll get it on PS5.

  • When is Anniversary?

  • The one thing I don't like is the actual or perceived lack of red survivors on PS4! I've had so many killers disconnect as soon as the first generator Pops, that I went from rank 1 to rank 3 and then finally hit rank 5. With that said, I'm not interested in going back to red but I'm also not interested in constantly going against rank one killers with teammates that are rank 8 9 10 and above. On the other hand, my killer for the first time is ranked 2 and that was easily achieved because most of the survivors in my games are Rank 10 or lower lol

Ideally your rank is not your reward, but rather to gauge your level of skill and match you with other people of your skill level. You should eventually hit the rank that you're comfortable in and then have a hard time ranking up past that. With that said, the emblem system is still being tweaked and adjusted and any odd edge cases should hopefully be ironed out.

I think a big issue is the fact that you lose Pips when the killer disconnects from a match. And at least on PS4, disconnections happen fairly often. Especially if you get one generator done before they even get a hit in. I also dislike the idea of competing with my fellow survivors in order to progress in rank. It really should be a team effort, and I understand some survivors will accelerate more than others but the prerequisites to pip are high the only one or two survivors per match can reach them. And that's if you're playing highly greedy and highly selfish.

  • @Saint_Ukraine said:

I used Kindred the other day, and no one came for me. I died on my first hook. Bunch of f*cking a**holes. Took that sh*t off and put on perks to help prevent my getting hooked in the first place.

This is how it always feels with perks. I get slugged and left to die on the streets for many matches, then I swap to Unbreakable and insta-hooked every time after lol I run Prove Thyself and the Killer has Discordance.

  • What really sucks is we lose Pips when a Killer DCs.

  • @rangerdanger0 said:

Still isn't all that hard tbh.

I have played many games still where I pip or almost double pipped. I find it is harder to pip now but it still isn't INSANELY hard (unless you get tunneled)

It depends on your rank! It's still easy in the lower ranks.

  • I think sometimes people want to see what the killer was running! And unfortunately they can't see that until everyone escapes or dead.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Stun times need to be longer, @Maximus7. Its too short right now. It is not stopping killers from tunneling.

Yeah the stun is not enough. The killer will still tunnel.

  • I think the hatch prerequisite should be a level of participation in the generator progress. That would encourage people to work on generators, if they are the second to last person and they realize they haven't achieved enough objective participation to qualify for the hatch to appear. I've been in matches where I got one generator completed and everyone was killed. And then I managed to complete another generator and I find the hatch and The Killers camping it.

  • @BillSimmons said:

Happened to me as well, game lasted about 5 minutes. Once 2 gens got popped in quick succession the killer quit. Unfortunately because I was downed and hooked in that 5 minute period I lost a pip, instead of black safety pipping.

I'd like a system that punishes ONLY the party who disconnects, not the other players in the game as well.

That's terrible, in my case the killer left as soon as one gen popped.

    @burntFuse said:

Seems fair considering how many times I fail to pip as killer because survivors DC.

The difference is that when the killer disconnects, there's no further opportunity to earn any points whatsoever. However if one Survivor disconnects, there's still a chance for you to safety pip.

  • I don't understand the Survivors that run to the opposite side of the map while the Killer is clearly in a chase or holding someone or hooking across map. Sometimes healing on the Hook makes sense, a lot is based on a variety of factors.

  • I agree that I'm not a big fan of these type of perks that should just be passive perks for everyone. I think adding more info to the HUD would be nice, such as an icon depicting that a Survivor is in a chase, 0/5 Totem counter, and maybe a Generator progress bar or at least indicate X are being worked on.

  • What about a countdown timer begins when the Exit Gates or both are opened? Obviously hooking or chasing someone would pause or extend it to factor that in. Maybe this should only occur when it's the last Survivor? I agree something to discourage wasting the Killer's time would be nice.

  • That's great. So does that mean North America gets it on the 19th?

  • I 100% agree with this. As far as reporting, you could still view the names at the end. If the issue is you wish to report after you are killed but before the match ends, you can still do so without seeing the names. This is how some games are.

At Rank 1 on PS4, I run into the same few killers every night. Sometimes even multiple times in a row and some start dodging or simply camping/tunneling you. Not fun at all. I was the last one, no gens completed but managed to easily complete two and find the hatch thanks to OoO, Sole Survivor and that perk for bonus repair speed if you're the last one. I got some nasty hate mail over it and that night ran into him twice, got tunneled asap and camped. Lost two pips.

  • Kinda new so this is a common theme with them? Say things are coming then silence for months? lol

  • Does the game favor the killer actions when there is a disconnect between killer and survivor actions? It seems to give the favor to both but unfortunately for the Survivor, it doesn't matter if there were already injured. I guess that explains why the pallet stun and killer hit both count?

  • Great idea, would be interesting.

  • Nice insight, thank you. Do you know the 1-30, 31-35 and 36-40 costs? Thanks.

The animation is just a visual thing, they have nothing to do with hit detection.

And yes, a killer can reach through the window and hit a survivor on the other side, just like in IRL ya know

I get that IRL but the game doesn't depict this animation at all and usually, the killer is too far anyway. It's like the Huntress' hatchets, those hit despite flying by your head and way off target. I guess it's just the game.

  • @fluffybunny said:
The same could be said about Claudettes. Either they're farmers or urban evaders who self care nearby well into your second stage and then finally go for you.

I agree with this, but it's not always as black and white. There are only two hook stages, so afaik there's no need to prematurely rush a survivor on the second stage?

  • Actual event exclusives that are exclusive to the event, can't be purchased by any other means and exclusively available during that event. Even if it has to return annually for that event. Too much stuff is widely available.

  • I haven't played as much, nearly every match for me is the killer exclusively chasing me down repeatedly and I can't get away. If I am unhooked, I am insta-downed and back on the same hook anyway. Wiggle feels pointless since there are so many hooks. And then the killer lag is insane. Nightmare I never know where the lullaby is coming from, does he see me or am I safe in this spot? The Pig's gimmick isn't fun, running around to as much as four puppets to try and break free. Doctor's spam the electric floor through walls and other barriers so where do you go? The forums really paint a different picture that the game favors survivors, maybe it does and I just need to learn the perks and how to be a terrible survivor for killers.

  • I'm confused, do some killers allow a survivor to freely escape if they don't do certain things? I'm new to this and basically run the self-heal, seeing injured allies anywhere on the map, light footsteps and the ability to revive yourself from the downed state. I still have killers chasing me exclusively the entire time, until I am killed. I feel like I need to learn what everyone uses and go with that like DS.
