I'm glad to finally have a way to get these on PS4, but still like the idea of exclusive content. It's always cool to see unique special items in a game and know that the person played during the eligibility period or accomplished some in-game feat.
-
I agree that at least on red rank on PS4, I run into this a lot. And I have not disconnected however I can see why a lot of people do. It's super boring and I think he has way too many gimmicks.
-
Can someone explain how would a mechanic that allowed you to decline being unhook get abused? As far as that being an option, you can guarantee if it ever does happen it would be a perk that will only work once and only if you pass a difficult skill check and within 5 seconds of being hooked and within 32m of The Killers Terror radius and it makes you the obsession and your aura is permanently revealed to The Killer for the duration of the match.
-
Where's the promised PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhanced patches? That's what I want to see!
-
So can you still complete every node after you hit the final one or should you do them all before selecting the eye icon?

They tested a system where the hook time didn't go down when they were close but it was abused by survivors running around it allowing others could do gens easier.
They added perks to entice killers away bbq and make a choice to name two.
So how do they punish a strat that is allowed and has been since the games release? What will make a player not secure a kill if they so please?
The devs themselves when playing camp at times it is discouraged due to its impact but it is also a viable strat that is allowed to be used by their own words and actions.
While we may not think camping is fun for either side we can't speak for everyone as fun is subjective and beleive it or not some do enjoy doing it. No punishment will stop some who want to do it. If someone hits a place where their skill level isn't where they are in rank nothing will atop it from seeming the most viable choice.
Even pips or points don't matter as some have what they want and don't see not ranking up as a punishment. It's why finding a way to make it not as viable is the best solution and right now that's is currently in the survivors hands.
Your first sentence is confusing. Survivors abused the Perk by camping the Hook? If so, change the conditions to where it only works when The Killer is within range? I didn't follow the PTB changes since I'm on PS4.
And a remedy to a problem doesn't have to eliminate but rather reduce it. Sometimes things are always permitted or done one way, doesn't preclude the possibility of future changes. If The Killer is determined to kill you, nothing will stop them goes without saying. There are myriad ways to address camping, but I don't have enough invested interest to share my ideas and then have to deal with explaining them. If the Devs solicit a feedback session on the topic, I'll be sure to post.

@twistedmonkey said:
You never punish a player for using a strat in the game. It has always been part of DBD and its encouraged in certain situations.
You reward them more for not doing the act by making not camping worthwhile. This is what they have started to do. Unfortunately if someone just wants you dead then no reward will ever stop them doing it. It's just how it is.
If someone camps always remember survivors have the upper hand. Do the gens and get out instantly. Don't worry about points or emblems just show them its a non viable strat.
You can punish via any means and it doesn't even have to impact BPs or Emblems. Many games are faced with these problems and have to remedy to maintain game health. I know the Devs discourage it but perhaps they could do more? Camping isn't fun for The Killer or The Survivor but some feel it is the only means to secure a Sacrifice.
@PigMainClaudette Yeah that could work, there's also Camaraderie. Again I don't think the Perk goes far enough and has unnecessary conditions and limitations. Why does another Survivor have to be within 16m and only work once for 34s on the Struggle Phase of the Sacrificial Sequence?

Because I should not have to deal with effing abuse by some Survivor who has his own fake set of rules in his head and is salty that he lost 'unfairly'.
I should not have to be told I'm a bad player, in the game or on these damn forums, because I'm not playing 'their way'. 99% of these 'Tunneling is BS' threads are people who don't care one whit about game balance. They just want rules put in place to force people to play with their made up rulebook.
I've been blasted for tunneling, 'camping' (I don't camp because it's not a way to win, but since I did not LET 2 people unhook their friend; I camped. They literally walked up to me as if expecting me to just walk away), running Iron Grasp or Agi to counter hook sabo (got called sweatty & a tryhard), for KICKING A FREAKING GENERATOR.
Survivors need to grow some balls or stop playing a PvP game. I'm not trying to troll people. I'm not using exploits. I'm not cheating or using glitches. I'm trying to do my MFing job and FREAKING WIN.
AND I SHOULD NOT BE PUT ON BLAST FOR TRYING TO WIN!
And THAT'S my god damned problem with these threads!
Don't let it bother you but there is consensus on what tunneling is (definition wise). We also know you can "win" without tunneling. So ultimately it is a choice and sometimes choices are made that upset people. So while tunneling is allowed, it doesn't insulate you from criticisms. It's that same criticism that sometimes results in a shift, whether specific tactics become banned or so shameful that no one would want to be seen doing it.
-
I miss the plants too and filing the vials up. I also remember some very nice Killers during that event. I knew I was doomed, didn't care and just wanted to get my essence and 98% of Killers would allow me to Harvest before killing lol

Regressing is a joke. It takes 3 seconds to start a regression and less than half a second to stop a regressing generator.
And Survivors can temperarily remove hooks, thereby nullifying a hook attempt.
And Killer's can't be banned for tunneling, but if a survivor so much as THINKS a Killer is tunneling, even if it was just dumb luck, they DC. Or abuse the Killer in endgame chat. Or come onto the forums and demand punishments and rules be made up to force everyone to play their way, fair or not.
I want to be able to play efficiently (which sometimes means tunneling) without Survivors pitching a 3-year-old level hissy fit in chat afterwards.
Yes but progress is regressed, and there's always PGTW, Overcharge, etc. Survivors sabo is also wasting their time but it doesn't regress your Hooks in the same way a kick regresses Generator progress. Why do you care so much? Imho you seem to either have to and/or love to tunnel but are bothered by the fact that you are being called what you are. Just ignore people and move on. No one cares how you justify it, especially if you think completing a Generator is a worthy excuse to tunnel someone lol I personally never tunnel but it is probably bc I know how unfun and painful it is as a Survivor.
-
I only get Ruin if I see it, almost never actively pursue it. However it is an RNG perk, sometimes you get potatoes that spend the entire match looking for it and other times all five gens pop while it's active and then there are those matches where Ruin is ruined within nanoseconds.

I don't actually tunnel that much, unless they are healing under the hook. That is THEIR FAULT and I don't have to let the people get away. But of course, if Survivors don't get to escape and heal for free, it's tunneling.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/804836#Comment_804836
Nono. TUNNELING is 'Survivor-rushing' since it's the Genrush equivalent for killers; It's doing your objective as fast as possible, which means attacking the wounded person.
And again; so many Survivors stomp onto the forums 'I was clearing my 3rd gen in 20 seconds and the Killer hooked me and tunneled me! It's SO UNFAIR that the Killer can play efficiently! They should be punished for not ignoring the wounded Survivor! I deserve free healing after an unhook!'
I understand what you're so desperately trying to say, but it doesn't make sense. The difference is that The Killer has the power to regress your progress. That's the only reason why Survivors commit to protecting their investment by completing a Generator. Survivors do not possess the power to nullify a Hook state. A Killer can achieve a 4K without tunneling; it's not a prequiste to "winning" the Trial. Players that never tunnel get all four all the time, but you won't hear of Survivors escaping by abandoning Generators.
With that said, I think Killers should be able to tunnel without getting banned. Just own it and stop trying to justify it with silly comparisons. Tunnel away!

You're wounded AND you've already been hooked once. You're the easier prey. You're the quicker kill.
This is literally what a Killer's goal is; TO KILL.
If genrushing is fine, then Survivor-Rushing (Tunneling) is fine. It's the Killer's objective. People need to stop complaining that the Killer is being efficient.
That goes without saying but there's a term for it, and it's called tunneling. The point I was making is that OP situation is not tunneling, and I think some Killers like to pretend that that's really tunneling. Like why some survivors accused the killer of tunneling even when it's not. And LOL, Gen rushing is not Survivor tunneling. Survivors have to complete generators, if not they regress and then all of that progress is lost. If you don't tunnel a Survivor, it isn't like their previous Hook is undone.
-
I think a lot of these topics are only trying to undermine what is truly tunneling. I've been tunnel, I've been unhooked and the killer will specifically and exclusively chase me down even when there are other people trying to direct his attention away. So yeah there are people who will be accused of tunneling even when it's not but there are still very real situations when Killers unnecessarily tunnel.
-
Halloween should be the biggest annual event for this game and it's so disappointing. They need to do holiday overlays for the maps. I don't expect every map, but there should be one map each Halloween updated with a visual overlay. Add some jack-o'-lanterns, spooky music, maybe abandon trick or treat bags and other Halloween themed visuals. It's very disappointing.
-
Killers get way more points, and I do think it needs to be balanced. It's especially true during special events, and it's something the devs have adjusted but I don't think they've gone far enough. They last talked about the fact that during events there's an imbalance where most people are playing killer and the reason is for the blood points. I'm not sure why anyone would care if survivors got a buff in blood points? I see people here complaining about it. Yes there is competition with survivors but there should be less competition to encourage teamwork.
-
I think when the Gap is that massive, the points need to be adjusted. Since it's expected that the killer would annihilate those survivors, the survivors should get pip protection and double or triple bloodpoints. Whereas the killer? At Max should just get a safety pip.
-

Maybe if the time they stayed broken was longer and something like it required an entire toolbox to do one hook.
With the number of hooks on the map, one toolbox to break one Hook for even three minutes? Totally not worth it.

Considering the nature of the devs these days, I doubt we'll get another free chater let alone free perks. The goofy perks will get released but they'll get released with characters as actual "serious" perks. A la, Camaraderie, Mindbreaker, and Buckle Up.
You're right, they will turn them into DLC perks.
-
Yeah I think it would be nice to see more general perks added to the pool. There's a lot of fun and silly potential for Perks to be made. Faster Totem Cleansing, Reveal your Aura to other Survivors while cleansing or healing someone, etc. Nothing super game changing but maybe some fun stuff for people to play around with.

Despite everything, I think the real reason we will never get voice chat is the cost and moderation headache. Every game has toxicity and drama on voice comms, and they also have ways to mute or opt-out and report people. That's money and time, which is why some devs leave it up to the platform options or external voice chat. I do think it would be funny and very hostile to have them on PS4 but don't see it happening.
-
I think the global sound suggested by @Dehitay is a great idea and attaching the counter to a perk, perhaps Small Game would be a good choice for that.

I agree with OP, he's not fun to go against at all! A very boring killer.

Well that's just you.
Just yesterday I fought a Leatherface who just hooked my last teammate and I was standing on the hatch spamming M1 the entire time. Leatherface walks over, gets to me before my teammate dies completely. I jump in... and he closes the hatch on me.
It's just you man. There is no conpsiracy that survivors are favored in hatch showdowns.
I was helping a friend get the hatch trophy and we succeeded, however I totally forgot to remove my key. Luckily I had Weaved Ring and Milky Glass on. Unfortunately The Wraith was using FD and knew where the Hatch was and the last person died on the ground. I recovered the Key, and opened the Hatch and began to fall in and got hit (FD made me drop it again). My character teleported to the dying state on top of the now closed hatch lol I had seconds left on DS, used it, grabbed the Key and jumped back in but not before he got another hit and thus my key was lost.

I got off the rails, I'll admit.
I generally prefer having the usernames. Without it, it would make retribution against certain sandbaggers or survivors you have a grudge against impossible. And personally, I think that sometimes certain people need to be reminded that they shouldn't poke the killer too much lest the killer come back at them with a stronger build.
Yeah revenge and retribution are good points but that narrow enjoyment is less compelling that ultimately protecting the experience for everyone. I still think it is outweighed when compared to the potential toxicity and negativity associated with arming every Killer with this information. It doesn't further anything game related, other than revenge and possibly predicting a Survivor's perks and comes at a high cost for the Survivor on the receiving end of some nastiness.

My situation: I see S_Panda who switched characters at 6 seconds giving me no time to create my own plan, and change my stuff based on that
Your situation: I see another claudette.
But it's still the same username lol That is what this is about. The Killer still knows you're S_Panda, your character selection is immaterial.
-
@S_Panda said:
Except my example literally deletes that information...
I don't mean username as in Survivor name - Claudette vs David, username is your individual platform account username or ID. Swapping Survivors at the last minute is to try and avoid Franklin's Demise but that doesn't conceal your platform ID. Otherwise not sure what you mean by deleting that information.

They say that they mean that in terms of you can easily prepare to counter a specific killer's power.
It's a very dumb idea to set your build one specific survivor's perks.
Especially considering there are three more survivors who are more than likely running different perks that could screw you over.
Yes if Survivors could see The Killer, it would make things easier. I would run Calm Spirit against The Clowns and The Doctor, etc. I understand why we can't see The Killer prior to the match.
@S_Panda said:

It can give you info on a survivor you played against before. One of the fun things survivors can do which counters any reasoning they're shown beforehand is change survivor at 6 seconds remaining for their actual loadout (items). A killer could remember this and what they used for the future. Like others mentioned before I feel it's more often friendly than detrimental of showing a name beforehand.
It might "feel" friendly but armed with this unnecessary information, a Killer can become toxic and create a hostile experience for that Survivor. The fact that The Killer doesn't need to know the username of any Survivor outweighs the small stated benefit of predicting a Survivor. If the devs truly wanted The Killer to know this, the perks would be displayed. The Killer has a lot of pre-match information and that isn't diminished by concealing the usernames.
-
@FrenziedRoach said:
It's easier to remember killers you play against because it's just one player name you have to remember. And at least on my platform, you can see if they've had a name change.
The unknown factor is a large part of well-written horror-suspense media. This game is just attempting to take that a step further with the unknown killer.
If that is unacceptable to you, then let me give you a more practical reason.
On more than one occasion, ways have been found to find out both who the killer is and what they are playing. And in all occasions, when the exploit got to be well-known enough that a lot of people were using it, the number of endless lobbies and lobby-dodges went up considerably.
As a result, the devs were forced to close the exploit to get survivors to behave and play the game.
It's been found to generally just a bad idea in this community to let people know who their killer is.
Idk what you're going on about? This is about the usernames of Survivors on display, not The Killer. I don't care to see their username and am fine with the current system. Survivor usernames should be concealed until the end.
-
@StevePerryPsychOut said:
On xbox you can see killer's username in your recent players tab. The only time it's come into play for me is when I let 1 person go in a 2 man swf. We ended up in the same game next time. I recognized it right away, but they didn't know until we got into the game. They sent me an invite to party up and I ended up letting everybody go but some random bill who suicided first hook. I still swf them once in a while, though I usually prefer to play solo.
If they were to conceal the usernames, I guess that means no more farming lol I have met some awesome Killers and SWF with them afterwards.
@FrenziedRoach said:
I've never seen a problem with it myself - but I generally don't remember most survivor names and don't care enough to get back at anybody.
Certain other playerss, however, make it part of their style of play to punish certain people they see again. And personally, I think this makes the game better. Because let me tell you something, when I suspect that a killer I destroyed a couple games ago is in the game; it puts me on edge and makes the game scarier as I got the feeling he's gonna be gunning for me hard. But what makes it cool is there's that unknown - is it really the same guy or is it somebody else with the same outfit? That unknown just adds to the suspense.
I guess they could provide the option to toggle off concealment but then they would raise red flags for some Killers. I disagree with the fun factor, especially if they bring TS or Mori for you. You get deleted within a minute and all because you escaped a match earlier against them. Your second part about the unknown factor, that is always the case whether our usernames are shown or not.

If you REALLY think he is, post a video on the forums or send it to the response team with a ticket.
I have video clips of Survivors working with The Killer, bringing him to other Survivors and have in-game reported and followed-up with a video report. I get a canned reply that they will review but can't comment, meanwhile those people are still playing. One of them is a streamer and he continued to actively stream all week. Perhaps they were warned or banned for two hours? lol I still report because you never know what they do.

The lobby in all retrospect is for the killer not the survivors. It let's the killer judge the survivors and tweak the load out in response to the incoming survivors they will have to deal with.
True but these goals are achieved without seeing the individual usernames of The Survivors. Even so, the goals they wish to advance for The Killer can't come at the expense of the overall experience and health of the game.

Yeah a lot of adjustments too. I think some of the Altruism perks need a little bonus for the person using them. Babysitter could provide some bonus BPs so it has some benefit to the owner of the perk. And some perks need an adjustment to the conditions needed to work, like Diversion.

It's the other way around. Survivors are the Reactionary Role.
If a killer camps a gen, survivors can't go to it and must go somewhere else. The killer is a deadly presence to be respected. Survivors must play around the killer or die.
The game requires 4 survivors to match up to 1 killer. No single survivor can deal with the killer. The Killer is not the Reactionary Role. The Killer is the Power Role.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/767263#Comment_767263
If it's so public maybe the survivors should also be able to publicly see the Killer's username in the lobby, no? No need to see the killer himself. Just the username.
See how you like that.
@Mochan Well said on everything, including the display of the username. The devs decided to shield the username/ID of The Killer to prevent lobby dodging, bullying and harassment. I don't understand why these principles can't be applied to The Survivors. Survivors run into the same problems.

@Jb94 said:
I'm on ps4 too and mainly play killer. I very rarely check names before the game starts--once I ready up my attention goes elsewhere. Still I'd like this option to be there for a few reasons:
1. Enabling perks. The obsession mechanic gives one survivor significantly more importance to the killer than the others on certain builds. Memorising the names of players gives important information in order to prioritise chasing/ not chasing for Remember Me, STBFL, PWYF etc. If you have a build which revolves around one of these perks, this small advantage is much better than randomly starting chases until you see the obsession spikes wiggle.
2. Lore friendly--the framing device for the lobby is that the survivors are haplessly standing around on their screen. The same is visible from the killer's perspective, however the killer has the added context of their chosen spooky-boi creepily staring at them from the bushes. Then idea is that the killer is stalking their prey, sizing them up and planning ahead. The names are a small detail, but it adds a level of vulnerability to survivors that the killer knows more about them than they know about him or her.
3. Random survivors dodge each other- Survivors regularly dodge lobbies for reasons other than ping (I've noticed this a lot more since individual character level has become visible) - you probably just don't notice because it doesn't boot everyone from the lobby as with the killer or because you exclusively play with friends.
4. Killer discretion- gonna show my bias here a little. Personally I very rarely dodge lobbies as killer, but god is it nice that the option is there. Red ranks is rough and if I'm trying to run someone off meta (I don't have meta perks unlocked on most of my killers and like to whip them out for variation) it's nice to pick a lobby which isn't causing my TV screen to drip beads of sweat (I see you 4 blendette team with 3 instaheals and a key).
More broadly, there are only a couple of names that have lodged in my head from playing. One for good reasons (a guy I've played against a couple of times, who ggs and chats after the game), the other for very bad reasons--they're a member of an swf team which has DCs once I'm winning to mess with me/ secure hatch (twice) and otherwise just gone out of their way to play like asshats if the advantage is on their side- the only reason I've remembered this person is that their name is ironically wholesome. I've not dodged this person to date: but I've had at least 4 very unfun games against them win or lose. That I even remember the name of this person (something I don't actively bother with) is a real testament to how horrible my experiences with them have been. I've concluded that I don't actually want to play against someone who's part of a team of people dedicated to making sure I don't have any fun from the very start of the game- I'll probably forget to check names at the start of future games, but if I do spot this player, I wouldn't hesitate to dodge.
Those are my thoughts at any rate.
- They could go with Survivor 1, Survivor 2, Survivor 3 and Survivor 4. Or even use the character names and add a number if multiple, Claudette and Claudette 2. Whatever works. Some guys randomly generate a name or maybe they can implement an in-game display name option
- Lore wise we don't exist, so our usernames don't advance the stated goal. The Killers already know way more than we do, they see our character and items being held. This provides the necessary information, the usernames is immaterial other than for negativity.
- Never dodged another Survivor, almost never get paired again for whatever reason. With that said, the usernames could (should?) be displayed to other Survivors and not The Killer. Problem solved.
- The devs they don't want anyone dodging, so this isn't a goal they want to advance. Likewise, as a Survivor I too want to run off-meta perks and have fun but realize I may be at a disadvantage. It's a trade-off to decide what to run but this isn't enough justification to say Survivor usernames must be displayed.

There's a lot of perks that only do something as a countermeasure to something else, like Franklin's Demise, Hangman's Trick, Lightborn, Overwhelming Presence. They're already far from commonly used.
Burning perk slots on these only functions in specific circumstances and they otherwise don't contribute to the game at all. It is important for the killer to have information as to whether they are necessary or even more perks serve 0 purpose.
It would also be a massive buff for keys, as there would be no option to use Franklin's in a reactive manner, so it would rely on spotting the tiny model, and even then the only counter is tunneling the ######### out of someone which still doesn't even remove the key from the match.
If you want to argue that then killers should bring Franklin's EVERY match, that would also create a frustrating environment for all survivors as basically every item loses significant value. At the same time killers are losing some advantage in chasing, stalling or tracking just to MAYBE counter items.
As for player names, from the killer side it is honestly the best way to get involved with the community in games. You get to know players more than just seeing their name on the end game screen.
@anarchy753 I understand and don't mind The Killer seeing character and items. My point was to illustrate that The Killer does have access to a lot of pre-match information and how little the username matters.
@TunnelVision said:
Strangely enough, i had a survivor message me on PSN while we were in the pre match lobby? How does that even work if survivors can't see my username until the match has started?
@TunnelVision there is a way to view this info, in fact three ways to do so. Idk if explaining would proliferate something the devs do not want known.
-
Oh yeah there's that too, but I don't think that's much of an issue. Ping is definitely a reason to lobby. But that's a legitimate reason. I don't think it's an issue of the highest priority but it's something that should be relatively simple to remedy. You just don't display the names above the heads, it certainly wouldn't require weeks or months of work to accomplish. The information would just be suppressed. Not to mention that you can't wait for every issue to be resolved because this game introduces issues in perpetuity with every patch. If I waited until the game was in perfect form, these issues would never get resolved. It's something that they resolved for The Killers, I mean if you think about it survivors being able to see The Killers Perks at the end of the match, was that the end of the world? Most of the time you can infer what the killers running anyway. However they implemented a change to address that issue.
The topic has been brought up before and it's usually the same talking points. I just can't think of any reason why seeing the user names of survivors is mandatory.

Then who cares? Do you believe that a PUBLIC ONLINE GAME, should not be PUBLIC? Because that is what i'm getting.
If you are going to play an online game, then don't be surprised that usernames will be used.
(While I cannot confirm this, but due to personal experiences, I VERY RARELY get "sniped", or get tunneled/camped because I played with someone last game.)
Then why can't Survivor see the username of the Killer? Oh right because it promotes toxicity and Lobby dodging and bullying and a host of other problems. So stop acting like your username is a prerequisite to play an online game. There are games that Shield your username or provide you the option to create an in-game display name. It's clearly an issue, this topic has come up many times before. There's no reason for the killer to see the usernames of the survivors in the lobby. And that's great that you never experienced that, but would you happen to be an exceptional player you do get targeted a lot. And this game is not even, this isn't like Call of Duty or Destiny.

To clarify I mean our usernames, not the character itself. I don't care if a killer knows I'm playing Steve but I do care if a killer knows my name is Nicholas.
-
I can't change my name on PS4, it's not like other platforms where there's a display name you can change an unlimited amount of times. I was just making the broader point But ultimately I don't see any compelling argument that could be made that justifies killer seeing the username of the four survivors in the lobby. I think it just encourages toxicity and problems.

Whatever the case is, with or without ruin, I will usually tap if I know I have to disengage very quickly. Like when someone's about to be hooked right next to me and I'm trying to get as much progress as possible or something. I have really bad luck letting go to go do something else because there's a skill check and then it blows up and then the killers on me lol

Other games that have longer seasons, simply Decay your rank if you don't play enough matches on a weekly basis. They could simply make the season last 90 days and after 7 days if you haven't played a match and you're in purple or red rank you'll start to decay.
-
Yeah I think I've only played it a handful of times. And I've only gotten one ID card in my web.

Yes but there will always be a reason as to why people ragequit. Those people exist in dota,cs, probably every online game there is. But at least there is some "punishment" for doing it, here there are no consequences.
Oh this match gonna be harder? ######### it, lets dc. Aw they killed ruin in 30sec? DC. Sorry without consequences you can dc whenever something doesn't get your approval. So yeah every dc has to be treated with cd.
If people still continue to dc even with say 1 week cd, than yeah you probably have some issue which needs investigating by the devteam.
I agree 100%, disconnecting is very bad for everyone involved. However I believe that they have been very conservative with punishment because they do realize the game has some pain points that can be addressed. I think mori is a problem that results in disconnects, and I believe the developers are going to address that offering.

Who cares why they dc? People will make up all sorts of weird excuses as to why the dc was justified in their eyes. Fact is, it is against the rules. In other games nobody cares why that special snowflake did ruin the game for the rest.
Put them on 2 hour cd, for the first and increase this cd with each time they do it. I don't care if it was ragequit, if mommy plugged their cable out.
I agree with you, they're really shouldn't be any distinction in terms of disconnecting because there's room for abuse. However the problem with symptomatic treatment is that it addresses the symptoms not the cause. And knowing why people disconnect is important to the games health. As a community we don't have to necessarily discuss that but you can be sure the developers will. They don't make decisions in a vacuum, and discovering what compels people to disconnect is an important part of addressing the underlying issue.

PS4, Lagging, frame drops, a match ends if playing survivor and the killer is immediately removed and shows as zero bloodpoints.
Bald heads
Kicks you out of lobbies
Stops searching for lobbies be itself
How much $$$ are the dev's getting from console players? I'd like to know. Are we just a cash cow while you only care about PC players?
I agree with you except the part about the bald heads! I've seen wigs falling off during a match and that's embarrassing. However survivors need to take responsibility for that and start gluing their wigs down.

Nope. It is not the case, and in fact hasn't dedicated servers been active for a bit now? For testing? Pretty sure it was in live not too long ago. So if you had it during then, you really can't blame lag.
I'm really getting the feeling that you arn't gonna listen no matter how many times you are told by several different people that you are wrong in this. Unless you happily jump face first into red ping, latency doesn't matter as much.
Also, guess what? Even a Dev said that the Killer and YOUR net matters when you join a game (When servers are not being tested) So maybe if you are wanting to blame it so hard on lag, you should check your own net.
But seriously, you have people on Survivor telling you that you are wrong. Just, listen and learn from the post and try and drop earlier.
Dedicated servers aren't live, they're still being tested in ptb. They're only testing capacity right now, they've made it very clear that they're not testing hit detection and other latency issues. Besides the fact that I'm on PS4, and there are absolutely no servers on this platform. You should educate yourself a little bit more on networking and algorithms related to gaming before you try schooling me about it.
