I'd rather a free 5 second then to have an idiot teammate unhook me in the killers face
Nobody will be unhooking in the killer's face anymore - cool down after a basic hit has been reduced. After taking a hit from a camping killer, there's usually only just enough time for the unhook. Chances are a survivor attempting to unhook in the killer's face will be grabbed.
-
I already accept that I'll die when faced with a Nurse or Blight lol I never even use Dead Hard, so for me it's business as usual...
-
It'd be interesting to see survival stats for swfs vs solo. I feel like swfs probably skew survival results. Could be wrong of course, just wish we had that break down though

They just nerfed the gen slowdown.
Overcharge, Jolt, and Thana have been buffed. Lots of talk already around Overcharge and Call of Brine used together. I would not be surprised to find full gen slowdown builds on most killers going forward.

Look ive played this and other games long enough to read a meta when I see one. I see where the devs are going they dont want killers to only get 1 k matches they've literally said it in the update post. They want a hide and seek gen game not a loop the killer till the exit gates open game.
Well I hope not. Lots of gen slowdown perks on killers side means hiding really isn't a viable option. You come back to your gen to find it at 0% lmao
-
Re Spine Chill, someone made a good point on social media that deaf players will be at a disadvantage. I remember way back when, there was a deaf player on the FB community page who made it to red rank thanks to SC being their ears.
-
The thing is, the people who used this perk were already okay with the 50% reduced speed. Something tells me they won't stop using it because it's even slower. It just means they'll be hiding away in corners for even longer lol
-
Yeah there is. I've only found one though since the chapter came out - and I have spent a lot of bloodpoints in that time

Yet you can watch streamers go on a 50+ winstreak with pig. Actually ANY killer going on a 50+ winstreak highlights how horrible the balance in this game is. It's hideously skewed towards the killer. Only a 4 stack SWF with all meta perks and full items AND voice comms can compete with a killer running the best characters and builds. Solo Q just lose by default to any sweaty killer with a brain.
How can I go play killer, camp/tunnel starting at 5 gens and literally not lose a single game all night and then come here to these forums where people are crying about genrushing lmao
This reminds me, some days after Dredge was released I saw a guy claim he was a C/D tier killer. He elaborated later and said he was on a 30 game win-streak (so 30 games of 4k in a row with Dredge) when he went up against a 4man swf and got demolished. So he claimed Dredge isn't balanced because he can't 4k a coordinated team at high MMR.
I have full sympathy for the issues faced by a lot killers in games, but I worry sometimes that killer mains like the aforementioned guy can skew feedback in a detrimental way. If killers were balanced around 4k'ing 4man coordinated swfs at high MMR then new and solo players would stand no chance.
-
What else are survivors supposed to do while you're waiting in the basement?
-
Same. Every game is average 4 flans being brought so we are all leaving with decent bp. I haven't really noticed much bm at all either, everyone is just playing normally. I usually avoid playing on weekends as it's when I feel the SBMM is all over the place, but I played last night (Saturday night) and it was fine.

Detectives hunch. People like to claim you need to do all 5 totems to counter noed, but no. Just a quick map read in the end game. Same goes for ruin, devore, any hex
Apparently DH can detect the event invite pedestals. Probably a good perk to have during the event.
-
Yeah I'm surprised Shadow Step doesn't get more use. I suppose because unless you get a map where you can hide the totem well, it's hard to get much use out of as the killer can find it easily.
For me, Overcome and Lucky Break are pretty strong together. Bit bummed Lucky Break is getting a rework because it'll probably be a nerf. Whenever I run these two together my escape rate is pretty high. I try not to use it much though as chase skills are pretty important to have in this game.
-
I had this issue with my first two masks. I assumed they'd been given to the two wearers I don't own (Deathslinger and Trickster) but then my third mask came through fine and it was Deathslinger. I have 9 masks total but technically should have had 11. I've seen a few people say the same happened to them so I'm just chalking 2 masks up to a glitch/loss.
-
I played pretty much all day yesterday while the kids were at school (and then again after they went to bed lol) and bar a couple of killers tunnelling, my games were actually quite fun. 4-5 flans every game, and while killers weren't going out of their way to let survivors live I still managed to get 9 masks. My biggest complaints were some of the team mates I had.
-
The Nightmare Edition disc has the ST dlc, they can get one second hand online or in stores that sell used games. I got it on PS4 and BHVR are still offering PS5 vouchers up until Sept if you have it on PS4
-
Not just escaping though. If you are the last person alive and hatch is open somewhere, you'll get it. Learned this the hard way when a killer decided to let me find hatch on RPD and we ran around for ages and couldn't find the darn thing. He ended up just hooking me, and I still got the mask lol
-
Survivors have to make it to the endgame in order to get their masks, so I imagine that's why everyone is rushing. Probably 9/10 survivors that I sat on a gen with today had Prove Thyself. I feel like if it were easier to get the masks then everyone would be focusing on getting bp/flans instead and games would be far more chill
-
Regardless of what i said earlier, I've used one every game today. Everyone's actually been quite good this time around. I've even had a couple killers down me by the exit gate, hook me, and go open it so that I still get my masks before the entity finishes taking me. Team mates have been a bit hit n miss but overall my games have been good
-
The event encourages it unfortunately. Survivors have to make it to the endgame to obtain their masks, so everyone is rushing sadly
-
Pretty sure i have but I don't own him. I've unlocked two masks so far and there's only 2 wearers I don't own and it seems I've recieved both their masks because none of the others have one. Really really bummed.
-
I've had 5 games so far and theyve been okay. Two tunnellers and no campers. Team mates have been a bit so-so. Two of them ignored me on hook after the last gen popped, I could see them both by the 99d exit gate waiting, but they didn't open it until I'd been sacrificed. I'm pretty sure they did it on purpose to try prevent me getting a mask but I did manage to get it as my icon hadn't turned to a skull yet.
A team mate was helping the killer in another game, I guess in the hopes they'd get given a free escape. So all in all my team mates have been worse than the killers so far.
-
I found one in the RPD map but it disappeared as I ran up to it. I'd given up hope as soon as I spawned into that map so I doubted lightning would strike twice, i didnt bother searching for another. I only found it because I was looking for a totem in an office
-
I've got 1 mask out of 5 games lol and it was only because my team mates opened the gate a second before my icon turned to a skull after they didn't bother to unhook me. My issue is I can't find the bloody pedestals, or when I do they disappear just as I run up to them D:
-
I got 23 cakes from one survivor after spending 700bp. I probably could have done better if I prioritised the cheap items and offerings

Talkikg about queues, how are queue time in survivor world ?
Cos i get a match within 10 seconds as a killer. Seems like killer left already, dont worry, plenty of survivors left to bully
My queues are only slow in the evening, which makes sense as people get home from work and want to play with their friends so there are more survivors online. Morning and afternoons as survivor it takes 10 seconds to find a match. I always hear about these long survivor queues but I have no issues.
-
I don't know why I expected it to be different this year but I did, and I'm disappointed :(

Had 5 cake offerings during a double BP event. Survivors gen rushed the hell out of there. I was like #########?! That could have been well over 150k bloodpoints for everyone. But nah.
Both extremes just feed into each other. Survivors gen rush because they're worried they'll get camped or tunnelled and won't get bp value from their cakes, while killers feel inclined to camp or tunnel because the gens are flying so fast and they're worried they won't get any bp value from their cakes.
The double bp event was painful a couple weeks ago with every survivor having Prove Thyself and every killer decked out with aura reading perks. This event will probably be the same.
-
I recall hoarding my cakes during the event last year because I just wasn't getting any value out of them. I did end up using most of them but only when the event was over. I don't remember why I didn't use them during the event but I'm going to assume there was lots of camping and tunnelling going on lol that's usually the cause
-
Nope. I'm a solo survivor and I recognize absolutely how detrimental swfs can be to the solo survivor experience, but at the end of the day it's a game. I couldnt imagine telling people they cant play a game with friends.
-
Jake and probably Haddie, since she like hunted the supernatural down for a living
-
A survivor in one of my games did it to deny a Myers his Tombstone achievement. I was the one who popped the last gen and sought out Myers to let him take his third Tombstone kill (me), then spectated to see if he'd get his 4th or the survivor would escape through hatch or gate. Myers was coming up quick while he was opening the gate so he just DC'd lol
-
I can't see that ever happening as people would basically killer shop, and everyone would avoid poor Bubba. Queue times would take so much longer too.
-
Give it a few months and I think most people will adapt and stop doing this. People are always unsure around new killers and new abilities.
-
I just hopped on (handheld) Switch and have the opposite issue

I think Devour Hope is fine. It's scary as hell when it pops, but it can be countered, and it's quite a gamble for a Killer to bring it.
Playing as a Solo survivor against Dredge for the first time this weekend and I have to say, the Nightfall is way too dark. I play on console (which is darker on every map than PC) and I can barely see a damn thing during Nightfall. To have to deal with that for a full minute is a bit too much imo. My rando team mates were d/c'ing or suiciding on the hook. They have to make it at least playable. There's a middle ground between what we saw on the PTB and almost complete darkness like now.
Same. This is actually my only real issue with Dredge. I'm on Switch, the worst of the lot, and Nightfall is pretty much unplayable. I like the concept absolutely, the ability to slow the game down for the killer, but to be not able to play for a full minute sucks. I've watched streamers play and they can see far more than I can in Nightfall. It's like night and day in comparison lol

I have a few. I think fixated + sprint burst is the best general stealth combination right now. Iron will and spine chill are probably the two best stealth perks after that, so wrapping them all into one build makes for a pretty sneaky playstyle.
Shadow step is the best stealth perk when you are inside it on indoor maps, especially with Lithe. So that's the idea behind the second build. Once you get into a chase, you vault a window and Lithe through the boon or Lithe to the booned area. Map offering as well to make sure shadow step works well
And finally the last one is more high-risk high-reward but you basically get the smash hit, break LOS, and then go find a place to silently heal
I feel like Distortion is a must have, with the amount of aura perks killers have.
I'd actually love for it to be updated with more tokens because the tokens get eaten away so fast nowadays

That is really odd then unless you play insanely off-peak or something. If someone is qued for an ungodly amount of time they will get matched regardless of MMR but it is often the other way around with killers having an instant queue and Survivors waiting for ages to find a match.
For me, as a survivor, it depends on time of the day. Mornings and afternoons I'm usually in a lobby between 10 and 30 seconds. Night time is longer, can take up to a couple of minutes. Weekends are probably the worst for me in terms of SBMM. It honestly feels like my MMR is redundant on weekends.

So this is what happens to those missing Midwich hooks

No no no no, don't try to mask your hatred against LGBT+ people by being a person of faith.
Thank you! That really bothered me too. I'm a former public school educated Australian (our public schools are crazy multicultural) and as such I know people of all walks of faith and being anti-lgbt+ is NOT some mutual thing they share

I've always wondered if the stigma/hate towards self care was warranted. Like
If you bring the perk and use it effectively, is it really that bad of a perk? Like yeah there's healing perks that are more effective and such but in terms of utility and efficiency self-care is up there. A lot of killer snowballing happens because survivors end up in a situation where nobody can get healed
The perk is also incredibly useful for the endgame, sometimes you're injured and far from a gate and you need to be healthy in order to get out.
I've been half tempted to do some kind of self care experiment, just to see if I can form a conclusion about the perk because I'm very torn. So many people are convinced it's a bad perk but I'm just not 100% convinced.
I agree. I don't use it as I always bring a medkit, and I'll admit that I used to think badly of players who did use it, but it absolutely can come in clutch in endgame saves. I've seen it countless times.
I also got matched with a 3man swf last week who refused to heal me. They'd ignore me or look at me for a couple seconds then run off. I suspect because leaving me injured meant the killer was more likely to prioritise me over them (they were right). Self Care sounded really good right about then lol

I think this is one of the main problems. MMR was always a pile of shite for Solo queue survivors. Devs refuse to do a damn thing about face camping/tunneling at 5 gens which is almost always a guaranteed loss for solos. Then the system dictates you aren't that skilled, and you go down, with less skilled survivors. Rinse, repeat, soon you're in MMR hell, able to loop a newer Killer for days but it doesn't matter because your team mate aren't doing generators anyways. They're creeping around the map and hiding behind rocks.
Another bad side effect of the MMR system (and how it only take into account kills/escapes) is that eventually decent Solo queue players get sucked into the low MMR vortex then matched with new Killers who then d/c (don't blame them really, it's frustrating).
As of late, I notice being matched with Killers who are obviously very skilled, while the Solo team is a mish mash of experience. One team member is competent, the next team mate is default Meg with all yellow Meg perks (a month in), etc.
I think it's that the Devs either can't or won't recognize that they keep buffing/nerfing both sides according to Killer vs SWF dynamic. Solo queue is the cannon fodder they ignore, but there's actually quite a lot of solo queue players.
You summed the solo experience up perfectly. Every time I load into a game my first thought is never about how skilled the killer might be, but rather how skilled my team might be. It's such a mixed bag lol
-
Dredge better cough him back up
-
I always give new killers a few months to get used to them, so I'm reserving judgement. I will say that the difficulty I'm having is in having to just *think* too much at one time in a chase. Like trying to mindgame, and trying to keep an awareness of lockers in my general area so he doesn't cut me off, and trying to pay attention to his remnant and trying to find the next best place to run. And I know my team mates are in the same position because it feels like by halfway through the game every single pallet is gone lol. Add Nightfall, and some killers using perks like sloppy to help bring it along more often, and it's definitely tough.
I'm hopeful though that in a few months I'll be able to pick up on certain tells that will help me predict his next move. Might have to dust off the old Spine Chill for a time.
-
It's very dark on Switch, I can't really do anything during Nightfall. Feel a bit useless if anything that whole minute lol
-
Yeah, editing videos is standard really. I watch some streamers live who will think nothing of badmouthing other players in the game, and yet when the game is uploaded to YT later all that has been edited out. I suppose they just want people focusing on the game and not getting distracted by their angry rants lol
-
I don't think they'll ever give you baby survivors, even after a few months off the game. You mention putting alot of time and money into it so I'm assuming you were playing for awhile before your break, which gives you much more experience than someone just picking up the game. But I do think they should at least have some sort of neutral zone whereby those who are coming back after a break and might be a bit rusty get matched with each other, and then after x amount of games their results roll over into SBMM.
-
I'm... actually pretty torn up about this

My personal survivor tier list on how good of teammates they are
I play Zarina and this is accurate lol I don't care if I die, I'll go down trying to save someone no worries. The only times I have left are when my team mates haven't been very team matey towards me. Like leaving me to second stage on first hook, or ignoring me when I need a heal (this rarely happens but it did the other day so I'm still salty about it) or farming me for unhook points in front of the killer. I know if I try and help them in endgame, they probably won't help me if I'm the one downed.
