    The devs have said a lot of things. They change their mind pretty frequently. You don't have to read these posts, you know.

    @brokedownpalace

    That's true, the developers can change their mind about things later down the line. I just don't like how perk are used to balance the game, we need an actual secondary objective, and not a perk based secondary objective.

    Just now trying to catch up on all the comments on this thread.

    Auras of Lockers that have Bear Traps in them are shown to the Trapper.

    Trapper can reset Bear Traps from the ground.

    I use to be a terrible influence on the forums, to a point where the moderators were this close to using the ban hammer on me, literally, but they still believed in me and gave me more chances to improve. Trust me, the moderators are very forgiving if they see you're trying to be a better forum member. After 7 months from my bad past on the forums, I'm happy to say that the moderators have the biggest impact in my life! It's so emotional to see how much I've grown within a short amount of time! 😭

    Do totems

    @Horus

    I actually do a lot of totems because Small Game is apart of my build 90% of times as a survivor, and I often use a Map to see the auras of all totems I've tracked. However, there are times where the killer chases me, and I have to pray to the Entity that my teammates aren't couch potatoes! :(

  • @se05239 said:

    There are several ways you could ease the grind.

    1. Increase overall amount of BP gained.
    2. Remove perk levels, so that they're already at tier 3 when you unlock them.
    3. Let us get several perks per bloodweb.
    4. Reduce the cost of nodes in the bloodweb.

    I've an old thread with a suggestion on how to improve the BP offerings to actually be useful. The TL:DR version is that we change the 15 (16 for survivors) offerings to 8 for either side while also improving even the cheapest offering to let you earn more BP.

    Here's a link, in case anyone wanna read it → https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/46827/a-rework-of-bloodpoint-offerings/p1

    @se05239

    I liked @DocOctober's idea about only getting tier I perks, then using them to level them up. In theory, you could get all tier I perks, and be done with the grind because the rest involves using the perks to get their tier III values.

    oh, i havent viewed your rework idea as a nerf to the perk at all. (otherwise i would have just said "cleanse totems" and left)

    honestly, your idea is a huge buff to the perk! i mean, when having a 120 second countdown ticking down to the survivors doom and then locking them in for 90 seconds, thats like a guaranteed kill! if you happen to hit a survivor 30 seconds into the collapse, they are dead. literally. on top of that, the perk is not removable and has a fairly simple activation condition.

    that is one hell of a strong NOED.

    my main issue with that rework would just be, that it would kill any reason for dull totems to exist in the first place. like i said before, the devs could also just remove dull totems from the game and only add hex totems (which would actually make them harder to find, now that i think about it...) if a killer uses hex perks.

    imo we need something that puts the focus on those totems, which is exactly what NOED does.

    on top of that, your idea is like a 180° turn for that perk. i cant recall the devs ever completely deleting a perk's effects and then add completely different ones to it. perks usually keep the main effect, it just changes how the effect activates / plays out. NOED has always had this exposed effect, they just changed how it activates. it went from a permanent endgame perk to a 120 second countdown to a Hex perk. your idea would not only remove that effect, it would also remove the totem aspect and add something entirely different, which is why i said it should be its own perk (or, now that i think about it, it should be a bloodwarden rework. that would fit even better!)

    i hope i made this more understandable with this post.

    i really dont dislike your idea, i just think it isnt fitting for NOED, honestly.

    have a nice day! :D

    @Mister_xD

    I appreciate the feedback, and yes, I made sure to consider the EGC when making the new No One Escapes Death. Hear me out.

    No One Escapes Death is strong because the Exposed status effect guarantees a hit survivor cannot escape, unless they have the Endurance status effect. The Doomed status effect is like the Exposed status effect where they cannot escape, but they aren't downed in the process, unless they were previously injured. This adds a more fun factor to the perk, while keeping its strength (I made sure this rework buffs the perk, so killers wouldn't freak out on me). Yes, 90 seconds is long considering the EGC is 120 seconds, but that's because the EGC doesn't start until one of the two Exit Gates are opened, PLUS survivors can 99% them. The 20% attack cool-down helps the killer hit as many survivors as possible, so multiple survivors are impacted by the Doomed status effect.

    I see your concern about totems, but I sincerely believe the developers will add a mechanic like No One Escapes Death where dull totems are transformed into Hex totems in future chapters.

  • @Mister_xD

    Just to be clear, I don't want to nerf No One Escapes Death, I just want it to activate differently, and have a more fun mechanic (while staying a strong perk). I'm saying this because I don't want people assuming I'm wanting a nerf - I just want what's best for the game just like everyone else here. I feel like No One Escapes Death is an unhealthy perk for the game overall, and it needs a rework.

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

    I know the developers have a bad history with reworking stuff such as The Legion, but if they took my rework idea, No One Escapes Death will be a great perk in my opinion.

    Also, there could be perks in later chapters that create Hex totems during the Trial.

    @MySpaceBarsBroken aaand you completely forgot to mention the part where survivors can prevent it from activating by simply cleansing some totems ^^

    dont worry, i gotcha. we dont wanna forget anything here, do we? :D

    @Mister_xD

    I don't like how we are using perks to create a secondary objective, which means I want an actual objective. I think I'm speaking for every here because you shouldn't be forced to run Ruin and NOED to slow the game down just a little bit. :(

  • @PigNRun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/589282#Comment_589282

    I dont see your logic here. If NOED is useless against dedicated Survivors, then are you saying whatever time spent on cleansing totems was useless against the very same teams you can struggle having lack of time.

    @PigNRun

    I'm saying No One Escapes Death is inconsistent because you have to hope that you get lazy survivors AKA survivors that don't do totems. Therefore, the perk isn't based on the killer's skill, but more about feeding off the survivors' laziness. I don't care about what the perk does, I care about how it is activated.

    See I was thinking perks like Balanced Landing, Sprint Burst, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, etc. Ones that are strong and don't have any downside.

    @ClogWench

    Balanced Landing can be troublesome in certain maps, but otherwise, the perk is balanced around exhaustion and drop points.

    Sprint Burst doesn't give you control on whether or not the perk activates, unless you're always walking around, which is very slow.

    Borrowed Time doesn't make both survivors immune, which means the savior can be downed and hooked.

    Iron Will is a stealthy perk, but stealth isn't really viable in Dead by Daylight, so I'm okay with it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/588915#Comment_588915

    Yeah exactly, it's a killer perk with effects that are determined by survivors and not the killer. I'd like to see these entitled killer mains name one single survivor perk with effects determined by the killer instead of the survivor other than Alert, Boil Over, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, Distortion, Kindred, Mettle of Man, Sole Survivor, and Spine Chill.

    @Dehitay

    Decisive Strike, the killer has control on whether or not it activates and if it triggers on them, for the most part.

    However, this isn't what the thread is about tho, No One Escapes Death doesn't have a skill curve attached to it. You just have to hope survivors are lazy, and you're guaranteed a strong End Game.

  • @ClogWench said:

    People complain about NOED not requiring effort on the killers part to activate but survivors have plenty of perks that give them benefit for no real effort and with no downside.

    @ClogWench

    Perks like Technician doesn't have much of an impact to the game, so they don't need a condition nor a downside.

    Lightweight is in the same boat with Technician, you won't be able to tell a difference to be honest.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/589288#Comment_589288

    So what you are saying is the perk is balanced and is not OP.

    Not only can it be countered, but it doesnt even work much of the time.

    Yeah I see where you coming from. It's a team game, if your team sucks, not the killer or perks fault.

    @DrDeepwound

    The perk isn't consistent, that's what I'm saying. You as the killer have no say on whether or not the perk activates because you're hoping to the holy Entity that you get lazy survivors.

  • @DrDeepwound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/589268#Comment_589268

    And now that totems (both dull and hex) give Lightbringer points, totems are literally part of their objective now.

    As they walk right by every dull totem on the map....

    @DrDeepwound

    I do every totem I come across, and I often bring Small Game or Special Maps to locate totems easily. However, in most cases, you're likely forced to do all of them because your teammates are lazy. Like I said, this perk is very viable when you get lazy survivors, and is near useless when you get dedicated survivors. See where I'm coming from?

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

    Maybe because Orion doesn't like your idea and thinks the perk is fine how it is.

    The problem is literally that survivors don't want to do their optional objective, even though people keep whining that survivors need something else to do.

    YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE TO DO, DO THE DAMN BONES!

    @FrenziedRoach

    Probably, but I would like some counter points from him since he seems to understand a lot more than I do. However, my point still stands, No One Escapes Death feeds off of the survivors' laziness, and is useless when you get a group of dedicated survivors. My idea for a rework to involve a little more skill, plus changing the perk to not be completely destroyed when you do get dedicated would be great.

  • @Orion said:

    My only problem with NOED: survivors who don't break totems.

    You are not exempt from countering a perk and also exempt from its effects. This is entitlement of the highest order.

    @Orion

    Well, I gave my reasoning on why it is a problem, but instead of giving me counter points or try to argue back, you just call me entitled. I didn't even call it a crutch and I always cleanse totems. 😭

    Nothing against the content creator, but some of those tips were downright stupid. Really, run past the Nurse while she's fatigued? Does she not have ears, #########? He also said you have to guess when they run behind cover which...you don't, just blink at the entry point LoS was lost and use the second blink to correct.

    @ScottJund

    Sometimes you have to do the unexpected to mind game the Nurse. Listen, these tips aren't going to work 100% of the time, but it's at least something to help you.

  • @Gardenia said:

    Some of you all have selective memory, doing all of these mental gymnastics just to justify Nurse. If you put time into Nurse that doesn't automatically mean you should 4k every game. You're not the only person playing this game, it's multiplayer, other people put time into playing Survivor, but do they always escape? No.

    On another note, OP just provided a video and as someone else commented. The fact that you have to evade a chase just to survive because it's borderline impossible to escape from a nurse means that she is OP. If you cant do ANYTHING, at all to escape chase, that's a problem. Because she ignores vaulting and pallet mechanics, you can't do anything. She can lunge with blinka, go through walls, see auras with perks....but you want us to "stealth".

    We can't break LoS on a decent nurse because the player still had eyes and we have to run to a place to hide first WHICH LEAVES SCRATCH MARKS.

    I see the same people running around.

    I still have the PSN name so I presume that would be enough. I’ve also tried contacting support about being held hostage in the basement awhile back by a nurse and they told me to just use the in-game report system.

  • You just repair it as usual for 3 seconds then the regression stop.

    It's not complicated nor easy to accomplish if you're in a chase. However, I prefer an entire objective rework because if you're not using slow down perks, or if your killer isn't insane at applying pressure... Good Luck!

  • How about this?

    When a survivor repairs a generator while it's regressing, the regression will stop after they repair it for more than 3 seconds.

    If the A.I sees a potential pallet spawning location, it will run to that area and begin to loop the killer until they are a specific distance to them.

    Once the pallet is dropped, they will either stay there if the loop is safe, or leave if it's unsafe.

    They will try to 360 you once you get in melee range, or will use DH then resort to 360s.

    The gas stations can be limited to 2 or so around far corners of the map, Killer can not see its aura. This 2nd objective should be safe to do, and to lure Survivor to do corner Gens early because those are close to Gas stations.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/705/KVO93B8ODUUA.png

    Yes, gen repair time can be up to 60sec. But I do hope there is another system that can completely get rid of tunneling. Im tired of Hag basement tunneling that zero chance to escape, it ruins the experience playing this game.

    There should be "no survivor hooked twice in a row". I mean if I get 1st hooked and if there is no other survivor get hooked but me getting down for the 2nd hook, I should have DS to escape, and it should be re-active again after my 2nd hook to prevent 2nd & 3rd hook in a row. If this hook system happen, I can take trials with even more/longer objectives, I feel I did alot of thing every single trial, even if I die, I should feel worth it.

    @C3Tooth

    There should be a hook streak system where you'll get more BP if you hook a survivor that's different than the one you previously hooked.

    Also, I wouldn't mind 2 Gas Stations, I said 7 before because there are 7 generators in every map. I'll update the thread to reflect your feedback, and I'll add the visual to the thread as well. :)

  • Can we remove the 8K BP cap in every category, and keep the overall 32K BP cap? I feel like this would boost overall scoring for both roles.

    Example:

    Survival Category- 6,000 BP

    Boldness- 20,000 BP

    Altruistic- 15,000 BP

    Objective- 10,000 BP

    Total: 32,000 BP

  • Thread has been updated to reflect community feedback, I appreciate y'all for giving me constructive feedback (especially @Peanits)! 😁

  • @MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky said:

    I feel like the regression should affect the progression of the gen as well, of course, slower progression or half speed of how fast the regression of the gas is.

    @MrsPiggyIsSoSneaky

    I liked @C3Tooth's idea more because it only affected gas, and not your actual progression. This meant more running around for the survivors, and less time holding M1 to recover lost repair progress.

    Also, @Peanits can I get a BHVR read on this? I think this would heavy benefit the game in my opinion, with some tweaks that is.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

    I have some concerns:

    1) It will be harder for the killer to defend gens. A lot would have to get changed around that.

    2) How your suggestion currently works, it will be a big difference whether the survivors are SWF or communicating with each other. It will make the difference in power levels of solos and SWF even bigger.

    That being said, when it comes to my fun as a survivor, I'd also prefer to run/sneak around the map and doing a 2nd objective instead of sitting 80 seconds at a gen.

    @NoShinyPony

    1.) I agree with your concern.

    Perhaps, when the killer looks at a generator, it will tell the killer how long ago a survivor was interacting with it.

    2.) That's something we cannot fix because of how asymmetrical games work. The minor roles (survivors) will always have an advantage if they can manage to work together as one unit.

    However, we can get close to balancing SWF, but we will never perfectly balance SWF unless we have a completely new game mode for it.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/582136#Comment_582136

    How about the third option.

    I'd rather be chased/hide from the killer.

    Doing gens and any kind of potential second objective will always bore me I've come to realize. The fun aspect of dbd comes from the player vs player "combat" if you will, the battle between players on the ability to escape and kill. Of course I realise that there needs to be some form of survivor based objective in order to delay the game and escape, but that's not and never really will be the fun part about playing survivor I guess.

    That's not to say I'm against a second objective. Hell I've even suggested them in the past. I just fail to see the potential fun in them anymore.

    @Maelstrom10

    Well, if you're always running around trying to find more gasoline, then you'll have a higher chance of running into the killer. At the very least you'll be forced to stealth around the killer because you're visiting more areas of the map.

  • @sorrowen said:

    I think it says a lot that DBD's whole objective is kinda over way too fast and is outdated at this point. Its 2019 the devs should have more to do that means winning besides doing gens..........also I hate ruin because it doesn't mean anything at higher ranks where people 2 person gens all the time. Legion's perk Discordance has shown survivors rush mainly by putting two survivors per gen if they can and if you are a 110 killer like huntress by the time you get there its almost done even with ruin.

    @sorrowen

    IMG_ac4aa13e-3ee7-459b-a950-58a9e43a4d9c.png

    This should be self explanatory of how poor the current objective is, so much so that the emblems system sees something is wrong here.

  • Ruin Talk

    I'm going add this on to my thread because it's a problem for the game's health in my opinion. I dislike Ruin as both the killer and the survivor because of the following:

    Killer

    Whenever I equip Ruin and I look at it in my perk HUD, I can't stop thinking about how boring it is to keep using the same perk over and over again. I want to be able to use different perks like survivors can without being at a severe disadvantage, and I don't want to keep using a band-aid perk 24/7/365. I tried not using Ruin for more "fun" builds, but the fun only lasted for around 5 minutes because of the gen-blitzkrieg. It's ridiculous, honestly.

    Survivor

    Whenever I see Ruin, I immediately look for totems because inexperienced players are forced to hold M1 at a generator for 7 more seconds per every good skill check. Therefore, it's possible with Ruin that generator times to reach above 2, and that's not fun. Ruins makes M1 simulator even worse for survivors, it's crazy! However, I know that killers need it, but man does it suck to stare at a generator way longer than you need to. :(

    @radicaldenson

    Let's say I was using my Sole Survivor perk in a real game during the EGC:

    I start to open the Exit Gates until it's at around 50% because the killer is coming. I quickly run away, and while doing so, Sole Survivor hides my scratch marks. The killer is unable to trace my marks, then I quickly run to the other Exit Gate while the killer is occupied trying to find me at the other Exit Gate. Rinse and repeat until one of them is opened. :)
