Well, that's kind of what Killers should be like: see how much time you can waste before you are inevitably caught. You shouldn't be able to 1v1 a Killer. That's just bad asymmetrical game design

Because you're a beginner at the game. Come back when you face good Spirits
And this is not me being mean you posted your screen once and you're relatively new.
lmao did you not see the devotion 4, almost devotion 5? I have a a little over 1.6K hours in the game. And I HAVE faced good Spirits. I hate facing boosted ones.

Not a survivor main, but I'd rather go up against spirit than legion.
I've never understood this. I've had plenty of people explain it to me, but I still just don't see it. Spirit is super fun to verse, and Legion is also really fun to verse.

There's plenty of counterplay to keys. They require a lot of work to use. They don't need nerfed.
But moris was probably nerfed too much. They do nothing for the killer now.
No there isn't, what are you on, yes they do.
I don't think so, good they shouldn't do anything THAT impactful as an f-ing OFFERING

Sorry but i'm 99% sure there was a speed decrease. A pure visual illusion would have been pointed out by Legion mains very fast.
This. For people who play Legion regularly, it would be pretty hard to miss a reduction of 15% move speed, even through a visual bug.

My waiting will involve not playing this game and playing something else that has better balance.
And that is your choice. I've stopped playing Overwatch until they can get their balance together. What was it that Mathieu Cote said?
"Maybe, take a break? Play survivor for a little bit. Maybe you're burnt out. O-or play something else for a change? Go play Civilization or something"

Sure. But WHEN? How long will it take? Mori's got nerfed before, and keys did not. Keys never have been. It makes it hard to keep up hope that they ever will be.
Who knows. In the meantime, we just have to wait. It's all we can do. If it helps, just imagine any survivor who escapes using a key as someone saying "We would have lost anyway, I forfeit". It makes keys a million times less frustrating, even a little satisfying
-
I mean, true, but at the same time, the entire Bloodweb system wastes billions of BP on stuff we will never ever use, so nothing new.
-

The problem over all is, they where nerfed to uselessness, and the fact keys didn't get a similar treatment.
Keys WILL get a similar treatment. Besides, mori's shouldn't be powerful. Offerings shouldn't have a huge effect on a match. Perks, items, and addons? Yes. Offerings? Not really. Mori's were too strong and them being useless is fine. As for keys, they are less of a problem, but still a problem nonetheless

I used it on Nurse one time and it was ######### awful. Never again.
seems like the only Killer is was actually good on was Pig, and that's because she could activate it while crouched, essentially giving you an instant ambush with no sound queue.
-
I disagree. Moris were a problem for a long time, and they shouldn't be used to steamroll a game for free.
-
Aw, that's dumb. Ah well. I only had like 54 on Clown and 31 on Legion, and it's ass on both, so I really don't care lmao.
I hope we can at least use them in custom games

-
As a fellow Killer main, I 100% agree. I feel like mori's should be purely for a more interesting death than the Entity stabbing you like some weird horror hentai.
I'm not even upset about them not nerfing keys at the same time. I'm really not bothered by keys too much. Survivors who escape with a key, at least to me, essentially say one or more of the following:
"I concede. We can't beat you, so we'll just use a key and escape"
"I want to be an ######### but don't have the skill to do so"
"I could escape out the exit gates, but I want extra BP" (these guys are fine. I respect them)
"I care more about the bold "Escaped" words on the screen than enjoying the game"

@Lambda said:
No seriously, tell me. What's wrong with that kind of representation. When Jane Romero (Latin American), Zarina Kassir (Lebanese), Yui Kimura (Japanese), Felix Richter (German) and Élodie Rakoto (French Madagassian) were added to the game, everyone was just all fine and dandy, like any person with a brain would be. Representation is nice, it's important to us. As soon, however, as a hypothetical LGBTQ+ person even begins to be discussed, all I see are angry casual homophobes complaining about it.
"Muh horror, no relationships"
So should we just absolutely void and remove the pre-existing straight relationships that are already in the game like Felix and Nurse? Or are gays exclusively not allowed?
And before you start typing "I don't care, as long as they don't rub it in our face" and as much as I HATE that kind of response, I think that goes for just about everyone. Behaviour has to remember to make them an actual character.
I don't mind LGBTQ+ characters in the game, as long as it makes sense and that's not all they are. If their entire personality is "I'm gay", then no, screw that. If it's saying "canonically, Claudette Morel is bisexual", that's just stupid.
Besides, my biggest gripe with this is that there are more ways to connect with a character outside of skin color or whether they have a penis, va-jay-jay, both, or neither. For example, I connect with Frank (Legion) from his mentality in the Soldiers Of Chaos archives, and his thoughts about the education system. I can relate to that, I can CONNECT to that. Or, I could relate to how Jigsaw tests people's will to live, and what they would do to survive. I can relate to how people are ungrateful for their lives, and I would totally relate to Amanda Young being a follower of Jigsaw and eventually feeling like no one deserves a chance to survive the games.
Try and find THOSE in survivors or even Killers. "Representation" is just something people ######### about for no reason.

Every pink addon on the survivors side they've touched in the past two years has been "nerfed into the ground", no one runs odd bulb, no one runs BNPs, no one really uses needles, they're all pretty irrelevant compared to their first iterations.
I feel very confident that the keys will get nerfed into the ground as well.
I beg to differ. Barely anyone uses Odd Bulbs, but every other game I get 1-2 or even 3 BNP. I've actually been planning on making a forum post asking survivors why so many people are bringing BNP nowadays.
And Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringes, I use whenever I can. They are fun as hell to use.

What is it? Only one I can think of is Repressed Alliance, but that still works in the survivor's favour more often than not
-
Oni doesn't need a nerf. He's very easily counterable, and you can loop him similar to any other Killer, difference being you have to be more careful and you're punished more for messing up.
Oni is perfectly balanced atm

What makes your thread even sillier and you coming off as nothing but arrogant is that you are a player with level 4 devotion, actually almost level 5, which implies you have significant number of hours in DBD, but you were playing against brown ranked survivors.
The fact that you made this thread says everything about the type of player you are.....
Oh, the only reason I'm against brown ranks is because I had to AFK alot to catch up with the rift. Nothing more, nothing less.
Also, this whole thread is lterally just a joke. Calm your tits lmao

If you can track down the Killer, you can gain pips. Otherwise, just take the BP/item and get out. Not much you can do
-
Getting 4 stacks of BBQ.
In a seriousness, I count a:
"Win" as 3-4K
"Draw" as 2K
"Loss" as a 0-1K
If a key is used, those survivors essentially forfeit, and count as kills
A survivor getting hatch or post-hatch gate when all other survivors are dead still counts as a kill
Alternatively, if I face against really good survivors and I at least get a 2K (1K if they are god-like/SWF), then that is better than any 4K in the world.
As survivor, well, it doesn't really matter
-
I don't know many actors/actresses, but Emma Watson as Kate Denson could be cool, and I would kind of like to see Robert Downey Jr. play Ace Visconti.
-
Probably their best designed Killer (I still prefer Legion, but that's only after they changed them around a ton). Not too strong, not too weak, very fun all around. Shame no one plays him.
-
Is that Victor gets crushed but you don't get hit? Really not surprised.

This is what I'm saying. We have 24 Survivors with a whole plethora of skins. Surely one of them suits your fancy by now? I'm not sure how this turned into a thread about diversity or representation. I'd just like to see less resources be put into what are essentially just paid skins, and more into important things like game health and balance.
It's because "muh representation" is important to people, despite the fact that there are alot of ways to represent yourself outside of sharing a skin colour or a set of genitals. I 100% agree, but people will find a way to argue about anything.

All jokes aside, Windows blocked off by breakable windowpanes.
Maybe it damages the survivor to jump through, it wont down, but it will always wound you.
but then what about things like tractors or fences, that makes no sense for window panes.
Otherwise, I love that idea. Maybe have it inflict something like Mangled or Deep Wounds as well.
-
That's... actually kind of cool. I'd totally be down for that. Maybe also only limit it to the Obsession, so it can kind of be this little link between the Killer and Survivor, kind of like the link between Voldemort and Harry in the Harry Potter series

Thanks for the advice but as a solo survivor you have to be as toxic as it gets since lots of solo survivors don't really do objectives or anything for that matter. Even if I deserve zero respect it doesn't matter the devs don't care about solo survivor. For the killers that tunnel and slug they also deserve zero respect but I mean its a tactic yk.
People who maliciously tunnel deserve 0 respect, but slugging isn't bad at all. No idea why people get pissed about it.

Representation is important, and people (maybe not you) absolutely care about it.
...How exactly? I'm all for representation, but only if the situation/lore calls for it. If it's something like Overwatch where it takes characters from around the world, then fine, go ham. If it's something like TF2 where women aren't allowed in combat positions because that's what it was like during that time, then no, we don't need a trans character.
The Last of Us 2 did this very poorly. Abby was modeled the way she was to be "trans friendly", and they have Ellie and Dina as lesbians, but a (massive air quotes here) "trans" person beating up on lesbians and killing people out of pure rage isn't the best representation, no?
Furthermore, WHY is representation important? So you can feel "connected" to the character? There are a million ways to do that outside of them being the same skin color or having the same genitals.
Food for thought.

from your posts seems like ur a killer main. fin.
I do main Killer, but since this is how to be toxic as survivor, I went all out on what annoys me as Killer. If this was the reverse, it'd be the same thing (except no Killer or their perks really frustrate me, not even a first hook mori).
However, I do play both sides regularly, I just prefer Killer when it isn't bugged to hell.
-
If you run Smoll PP Build (DS Unbreakable), you are immediately a PoS, no questions asked. Don't care what side I'm on or what is going on. If you have Smoll PP Build, you deserve 0 respect.
Object of Obsession is annoying, but not toxic unless you're in a SWF or versing a Freddy.
Adrenaline is also only toxic if in a SWF with 4 man Adrenalines.
Dead Hard is less toxic, but more infuriating, but it also says "I can't run the Killer around efficiently without being able to press E to make up for my mistake", so there's that.
BTW, I play both sides, and I feel this way no matter what side I'm on.

@Almo said:
This requirement will stay. There are things we don't want, like someone going into dying state due to a Bear Trap with Honing Stone triggering stuff like Surge. The alternative to the basic attack requirement is making exceptions. For example we could say Surge works for Demo Shred, but not Trapper BT/HS. Now every time we add a new Killer, we potentially have to through and update every perk with these exceptions. It's just not a maintainable design with the vast amount of perk/addon/power combinations available.
Since every Killer can basic attack, we can create the perk, and know exactly how it works with every Killer without having to check a ton of different interactions. If this means some perks don't work well given some Killers' powers, then that's just the way of it. Not every perk is exactly as useful on one Killer as it is on the others. Learning to choose your perks well to synergize with your chosen Killer is one of the important skills in DbD.
I have heard it said that this answer means we're "lazy"... that we're not willing to "do things that take work". Whole programming languages and paradigms have been based around preventing the same thing in code as we're trying to prevent in design with this strategy. You don't want a ball of yarn of a design where tugging on any little thing pulls a whole ton of others.
In a game as complex as DbD, there will necessarily be some of that. But minimizing it through smart design is still a worthwhile endeavor.
And Honing Stone triggering Surge is... bad? I really don't see how that would be super powerful. Hell, Hex: Blood Favor was already garbage, but it was at least interesting because it was one of the few perks left that required hitting survivors but not restricted to M1 attacks. Now it's garbage, never to be seen except for Adept Blight. It's not even good for meme builds.
Or something like Gearhead. Interesting idea for a perk (that didn't need nerfs, like come on guys) but completely useless because M1 Killers need other perks to even compete with non-M1 killers. Knock Out was honestly a perfectly valid perk, but now it's so restrictive and borderline useless. Save The Best For Last is the only M1 specific perk that actually makes sense.
-
Legion and Twins wouldn't be too bad. Legion to keep them injured, Twins to keep the pressure going with Victor (assuming their bugs are fixed)
Legion and Oni would also be really nice. Oni would get his power constantly.
Wraith with double windstorm and anyone else would be dumb. Wraith just stays cloaked and bodyblocks the survivor, the other capitalizes off that and gets easy chases
Clown and Huntress could be pretty decent
Legion and Doctor would be annoying to verse. Get afflicted with Deep Wounds, then you're shocked into tier 3 and now you can't mend
Plague and Spirit would be cancer for most people. Don't even need Stridor.
Hag and Trapper would be funny. As soon as someone gets stuck in a bear trap, the Phantasm kicks in and you get essentially insta-downed.
Imagine 2 impossible skillcheck Doctors with double Calm addons. Ooooof.
Double Iri Stone Trapper. No loop is safe.
Nurse with Knock Out and Pig. Ultimate combo to keep constant pressure on survivors.
Infinite Tombstone Myers with Doctor using double range addons.
Just some ideas.
-
On paper, easy A tier. His ability to keep survivors away from gens even if he has to drop chase is nice, his afflictions are good utility, and he has one of the best anti-chase powers in the game.
In practice, probably low B. He gets screwed over by dedicated servers too much.

Ooh I would be really interested to see the results of a truly anything goes tournament in which the win condition is simple survival. Every tournament I've seen so far has ruled out a number of maps, add-ons, items, perks, and even playstyles (like camping, slugging, and even repairing while injured). They usually make the win condition something like BPs earned instead of focusing on how many survivors escape too, which of course changes how people play. If there were actually a competitive scene it'd be pretty useful to see how the top players on each side did against each other. Without that, though, or at least a good MMR system, it's really hard to say how balanced the game is at various skill levels.
It would be interesting, yes, but this game is not tourney ready in the slightest. Even a game way more competitive like OW is so far from being competitive, much less DBD.

I know this would be controversial, but what if survivors only had 3 perk slots, but the fourth would be an innate perk for that survivor.
Like claudette having botany knowledge innately, so she's a better healer. This would give survivors more unique aspects about them, and make them more than just skins.
Or keep the 4 perk slots and have each survivor have a small passive, like Nea walks and crouches 10% faster, or Meg vaults 8% faster, or Jake's screams can only be heard from a maximum of 40 meters away. But I love the idea of a innate perk for each survivor as well. Probably would be easier to balance
