Speaking like someone who's never been hit with one of those damn things, lmao. (Don't get between my granny and pro wrestling, ever)
LOL. Maybe instead of looping, she can just fight the killer off with her walker until she runs out of endurance. So probably a 30 second fight with the killer before the killer is able to hit her. Then another 30 second fight after the killer hits her.

Legion's base terror radius in frenzy: 40m
Midwich's lower floor area: 4096m²
Legion's base terror radius in frenzy area: 40*2*3.14 = 251.2m2
Legion's terror radius / Midwich lower floor: 251.2/4096 = 6.13%
Maybe you were talking about the total area covered by legion in one frenzy? It is 4411,2 m² (no addon, no vaults, no perk). Even though he can pretty reliably detect survivors, guaranteeing to hit survivors is a whole different story.
If there's a good main building, use it! For instance, the Saloon is particularly strong to waste legion's power (it takes more than 10s for legion to go from the street to the generator upstairs). You can also use long walls, for instance there's 2 cars forming a long wall in haddonfield you can use to extend the chase by a lot.
Legion's base terror radius in frenzy area: 40*2*3.14 = 251.2m2
The area that Legions terror radius covers is (40^2) * 3.14 = 5,026m

Its tied to their Terror Radius.
This means if you spread out(Which is good to do in general) Legion can neither get multiple frenzy hits nor will they be able to detect anyone.
Also pre running the moment you see a deep wounds being applied while in their Terror Radius is a valid strategy as legion even with the speed boosts can't catch you if you pre run from the first hit.
This only works however is if you're not directly on top of your teammate when they get hit.
Finally you can tell if its Legion at the start of the game or not if you DON'T hear deathslinger's gun but still see deep wounds being applied.
Legion's terror radius, by default, is 1/3 of most maps. (He covers around ~3k meters sq and maps are ~9k meters sq). Spreading out almost has no effect. The better option, maybe, is to run to a corner far from other survivors and let him down you there, which sucks and really needs you to run bond.

Only item in the game that does nothing on its own without add-ons - even a green map reveals gens.
It's even a poorer joke when it crops up in chest searches.
All keys should be removed. The developers are never going to rework them. So survivors are getting useless items everytime they pop up in the blood web. I guess it does allow me to completely ignore keys in the blood web and get more toolboxes, medkits and flashlights.

The anniversary is around 3 week forward. So I just thought I would make this post addressing some of these issues, and how they could be fixed.
1. The Power Trip/Unbalance Of The Game.
Everybody and their grandma knows that this game is in favor of the survivors. The reason why goes into:
Weak killers and most killers have little to no anti loop (For example, Pig having a mediocre chase mechanic that can be countered by chaining tiles; Sadako having literally no anti loop.
So let's fix that:
#1. Make killers with no anti loop 120% speed, or make their addons actually viable. You could also give them non chase mechanics that actively make up for the nonexistent chase mechanics.
2. Game Variety. On both sides there are a small pool of perks that you see pretty frequently, that heavily outshine other perks, as those perks are weak. An example of some of the weaker perks are open handed, Autodidact, Left Behind, etc.
All of these weaker perks are use less because they arent worth using and completely suck. I won't give rework ideas for them at this moment as that isn't what the discussion is about, but yeah.
So let's start by buffing the weaker perks. This will essentially give more variety on both sides. This also applies to killers.
3. bad optimization. Fiber internet was added to my area which I will likely get this weekend so I will be able to reinstall DBD, so expect a part 2 of this and with stuff I experienced from my near month hiatus.
Anyways, let's get into it.
First off, let's talk about how on PS4, you can't even have an unhook without the game crashing. Yep, optimization was PERFECT until the Artist patch came around. All of these things make the game *UNFUN*.
4. Developer Priorities. I think we can all agree that BHVR is one of the worst developers when it comes to decisions for their game. I love BHVR, Hell, they even made Wipeout for Wii which was a teenhood masterpiece.
Anyways, whenever they make a good patch, the next patch they take 4 steps back.
Dum decision making by the devs makes the game UNFUN, because there aren't mechanics in the game that need to be in the game. This game is about to be on it's 7th year, their is no reason we shouldn't have a new game mode or something like that.
Seriously, the game gets boring for players after a few months because it's the same being game play for each sides.
So why not fix that by adding a new game mode. 2v8 would be extremely unbalanced but let's be honest, the game was so much more fun when 6 blink nurse and infinites we're in the game.
Also it would make a shift in the normal gameplay.
5. The. Extreme. Grind. Seriously, this games grind is too big. I feel like I should be able to buy a survivor and have them level 50 in a week. Instead, they would be about level 35 because of the blood point economy and how little bloodpoints survivors and killers get.
We can tackle this head on 😏 by doubling the amount of bloodpoints gained in a match by double. This would make it actually feel like I could buy more than three brown nodes in a bloodweb finishing a Survivor match.
On top of that, why not remove some of the use less stuff from the BW. (Luck offerings, etc).
Welp, thats the end of it.
Please share this post as much as you can. I worked hard on this and I need as many people to see this post as possible so that maybe the devs can see it and fix their game.
Anyways, bye have a good day
And Stan Yasutora Sado!!!!
Everybody and their grandma knows that this game is in favor of the survivors. The reason why goes into:
This sentence right here caused this thread to flop, it's not true. After that sentence, everyone ignored you.

I mean, Legion got a buff. Most GF players seem to be saying that he got nerfed. But it's not meaningful either way. It's like survivors complaining about camping so they add 1 second to camaderie.
Survivors have been complaining about face-camping since the beginning of the game and have gotten nothing. The one meta perk survivors have gotten in 4 years, is Circle of Healing and it's been nerfed 3 times now and will probably be nerfed again.
So be happy killers aren't treated the same way as survivors.

A single example, an argument is not made from.

@Tatt3dWon said:
Let me start off by saying that if its end game and face camping is a last resort its not annoying. And tunneling if you are good at looping wont matter I like being tunneled but, I ran a test yesterday and today and out of 20 games I was tunneled out 8 games(all gens got done but the killers mmr still goes up after tunneling me out and face camping) and face camped on 1st hook till death 9 games only 3 out of 20 games where normal loops gens and chase games is there something I'm missing bhvr needs to address this I've seen it all over the forums too and its making people quit in droves. 2200 hours of survivor and 30 min as killer since last January and I play maybe once a week now was playing 10 hours a day. If this doesn't get addressed I think I'm going to just full out quit the game and so are a lot of survivor mains makes matches boring as hell.
I use to think that the developers understand that face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead is a major game design flaw and is causing them to lose survivor-players. However, I think the developers are more concerned about losing killer-players and will never fix face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead, because they are afraid of losing killer-players over losing survivor-players.
Face-camping and tunneling-off-hook-till-dead are just so blatantly bad game mechanics, there's no way the developers don't realize absolutely awful they are. I really have no hope they will fix them at this point.

Weird that the face camping Bubbas, endless tunnellers, meta Nurses etc. didn't stop you, but C Tier Legion spreading damage around is too much.
Nope, those things definitely helped too. But honestly, I just don't want to have to deal with mending over and over again. I've dealt with it before and it was miserable, not worth me wasting time on the game for a miserable experience. I'll wait until the developers nerf or change Legion. Or I'll play killer so I can avoid it completely.

I have no problem with buffing weak killers, and certainly Legion were pretty weak prior to buffs. This isn’t a complaint about Legion’s buffs but rather the terrible design of that killer. It’s just so annoying to spend the entire match mending constantly. I’d rather go against killers that can down you immediately than go through the endless slog of getting stabbed and mending over and over again. Matches take forever and it’s just not fun at all. Do any survivors actually enjoy these types of matches?
The buffs to Legion have definitely caused me to move to different games. The second the developers mentioned they were going to buff Legion, I just groaned inside. But honestly, the who mid-season patch was a big FU to survivors, so whatever.

I play about 60 to 70% killer and I've made threads stating the exact same thing. I would welcome tunnel off hook and facecamping nerfs with relish as I agree the game would end up in a healthier place.
I wouldn't say it's a majority opinion from people who play more killer than survivor but we do exist. I do agree some people are very vocal about their opposition to it though but I think that comes from a lack of faith on their side that BHVR would then change gen speeds to balance out the killer nerfs.
I wouldn't say the next couple months wouldn't be thoroughly unpleasant though but BHVR likes their 2K 2E so I think they would get around to fixing it and, in the long run, it would be better.
Also, the Developers promised survivors that keys would be reworked and we still have useless keys right now.

@Ryuhi said:
What is the point of the "its not fun to go against" arguments? 99% of the game is not fun to go against. The biggest difference is that some things (like legions power) actually have counterplay to minimize/negate their prevalence. Even with their buffs, legion can rarely get the 5 hits unless the survivors are grouped and oblivious.
Annoyed you have to mend? After you do, they didn't score a down, and the only way they're going to be able to down you with their power is if they manage to tag 3 people before you, then get you twice after. Did they tag you first then run back and get you for the last 2 hits? Don't instantly mend. You don't even have any benefit of doing it until after going outside of their TR.
Having to break half the doors on a map to break up god loops is annoying. Not being able to hook someone because there are zero hooks in range due to awful RNG is annoying. not being able to use a medkit or healing perks because you're up against vommymommy is annoying. everything is annoying but take the W when its at least something you can actually do something about.
There's "people saying it's not fun" and it actually "not being fun".
I'm speculating and haven't played against Legion since the update, but if it's extending the game an extra 15 minutes and the game becomes mending-by-daylight, then my guess is it's in the "not being fun" category.
Also, Legion caused the game to be mending-by-daylight previously, and the developers changed him.

I wouldn't say longer, probably around the same speed, if not faster still. It's all around still more efficient than Self-Care by a mile
I'm going to use a guestimate of 4 seconds average time to get to a boon totems AoE. I think there's a rather low number and it probably takes more time on average, but just for arguments sake, lets do 4 seconds.
Think about it though, if the boon is off in the corner to prevent the killer from getting to it, which is the best place to put it, and it takes around 4 seconds (which is a crazy short time) to run straight to it through the middle of the map. That's 4 extra seconds you have to add to the 22, but... If the totem is in a corner around completed gens, you also have to walk to a gen, so that's another 4 extra seconds. That's 30 seconds to do a heal. Then you have the 14 seconds to setup a boon, so the 1st heal is 44 seconds, which is way worse than self care.
Even if the boon was as good as Self-Care, it's still Self-Care healing speeds, which every says is bad and why everyone calls Self-Care, Selfish-Care.
Most people, when injured, will not run straight through the center of the map, but will run around the outside of a map.
Now if you are saying the perk is perk-efficient, then yes. It can save 3 perk slots, if the team is an SWF and communicates this. Even with that, it still heals at Self-Care speeds for 2 heals (not calculating travel time), which is bad. With travel-times, it's worse.

@Notretsam said:
Head-on is simply very abusable by survivors and specifically SWF's.
I truly believe it wasn't attended to be used in the way survivors are using it, it was meant as a last-ditch effort to extend a chase with a killer, survivor runs into a locker and stuns the killer.
Sadly, there are people who think it fun to have a friend run them to the front of the locker and then boom, you get head-on by a survivor that there is no way to know they're there.
Today, I was playing my first matches with Pig, I got Badham Preschool IV in the 3rd match, a rough map for most killers but especially Pig. I get a hook pretty quickly with a nice mind game and then gen pops, all of a sudden alerts are popping constantly at the house. I know from past experience I can't ignore it as they just constantly do it, so I go up to look.
It's the 2 rooms with the pallet and the lockers there, nothing I can do but go past the lockers, I assume they are still in the locker and then boom, head-on. I'm like OK, I go to chase after them but to my surprise, the other 2 survivors are in lockers as well and all have head-on.
Of course, I'm going chase after the survivor and there is no way I would think all 3 survivors be in the locker when 4th survivor is on a hook. I also didn't think anyone would be so childish and do this, I had people before running me into a locker where their friend is but never had it to this extreme before.
This is why Head-On should be disabled and redesigned in a way it can't be abused by childish players.
I suggest changing it to "Lock-In", it's similar to Lucky Break that it works for a specific duration but a survivor can jump into a locker, and that locker can not be opened by the killer or another survivor until it runs out, once it runs out, the perk is disabled for rest of match. The killer can wait it out or at least some of it but survivors can waste more of the killer's time with it, could come in clutch in the end game but it's not abusable like Head-On is.
When you said Head-On in your title and asked for it to be Redesigned, I was assuming you mean it needed a buff, which is does need a buff. I would say a 5 second stun instead of a 3 second stun.

Then you aren't going against good Survivors that use CoH effectively.
If they're looping you next to CoH, then yeah, no wonder you "never have a problem with CoH"
So, either the survivors are placing the CoH boon in the middle of the map and the killer will be able to walk beside it and destroy it within 2 seconds or the survivors are placing the boon in an area where gens have been completed, so they have to walk to it, which effectively makes healing times longer than self-care.

Spread out
Don't heal too often
Don't drop pallets unless you're gonna go down
????????
Let me point out the issues with "spreading out"
- You have to do 1 to 2 center gens or you get 3 gened. The best time to do those gens is in the beginning, where the game has 4 survivors in it, then can make risky plays.
- Survivors have no way to know if they are spread out enough without Bond or an SWF.
- Legions Terror radius covers 1/3 of most maps, so Legion basically has to get unlucky to not find a second survivor. Basically, a survivor has to be in another survivors location and Legion has a 1 in 2 chance of running to that location, on most maps. If the survivors are split up equally, then Legion will be able to find all the survivors on most flat maps and some of the 2 story maps, such as game.

The term "gen rushing" is the funniest thing ever to me. Like sorry were we not supposed to do our objective as fast as possible?
It is always a problem of the killer just not pressuring enough. If it takes you forever to down people then of course survivors are going to sit on gens, what else are they going to do? Sit around and twiddle their thumbs? Sorry killer, we should have just sat around and waited for you to down us or pressure our gens.
Every time a killer accuses me of "gen rushing" I just say they were "hook rushing". Sorry killers you can't hook rush us anymore. So dumb.
True gen rushing is when you have an SWF all run BNPs, Prove Thyself and/or Resilience while breaking up to do gens. Killers don't see it too often. Just saying.

I've yet to see anyone account the time it takes to snuff a well placed CoH too, especially how much Gen time is wasted looking for it
But really, if a Killer is actively looking for totems every time a survivor puts one up, then that killer is losing the game on purpose. When I play killer, I only snuff the totem when I walk past it, which is like 2 seconds at the most. Most times I just leave it up. I've never had a game as killer, where I was like, damn that CoH screwed me.
I think killers who focus on CoH too much is just screwing themselves. In fact, when I play survivor, and I have a killer that constantly comes after a totem, I will literally sit there in that spot and keep relighting it, so the killer wastes time with it instead of doing chases.

Self-Care takes 32 seconds flat
That's 40% of a Generator.
CoH takes 21.3 seconds + bless (which should never be in an area with Generators) takes 14 seconds (only once).
That's 44% of a Generator.
CoH also only needs to be brought by 1 Survivor and allows every Survivor to heal means you'll have overall more Generator time than with 4 Self-Cares
This only works if the boon is set dead center in the map where everyone can get to it without walking. However, if the boon is set on one side of the map so the killer doesn't kick it immediately, then you have to take into account travel times. The average time to get to the totem AoE has to be taking into account.
I love that no one every takes into account the amount of time it takes to walk to a boon.

I agree. I don't think a killer power should be centered around repetitive game delay. It was mistake the first time and it's a mistake now.
It's not a lack of understanding as far as adapting goes. It's not spreading out and not healing is some obtuse concept. The power isn't fun. Repeatedly mending isn't fun.
Agreed. Honestly, I'll be really surprised if Legion doesn't get a rework just because everyone will start suiciding, instead of playing against him.
If all of your games ends in 10 to 15 minutes except for Legion games that end in 30 minutes, then you have a problem. The pacing of game doesn't allow for 1 killer to extend games to 30 minutes without making the game mind-numbing and boring AF.

PREACH IIT!
Literally all the devs need to do is take 1 week and make the perks interesting.
Have a month where they add new content, overhaul the Backwater Swamp maps with complete reworks to the Luck system, all Hag perks, and all Ace perks. Tweak some aspects of Hex totems - and other little QoL changes
"Against All Odds" update.
Work on it for a month, put it onto the PTB the following month, let it hit live when it's stable.
Bam.
Good Ace perks, healthier game, Hag is better - and DLC sales jump through the roof.
Community is happy, Executives are happy, and Devs are probably happy too.
Why they don't have monthly QoL Updates like this to boost DLC sales and make the game healthier for newer players is beyond me, it's a massive missed opportunity.
Thank you.
The "luck" mechanic has died. There's just no use for it anymore. It was tied to Trapper and escaping traps, however, as more and more killers were added, the less it's used, by a lot.
To be honest, there's a lot of mechanics the developers have introduced and completely forgotten about. The chest mechanic is another mechanic that has died on the vine. It was useful, then keys were nerfed, flashlights were nerfed, toolboxes were nerfed. Now you search a chest, you have a 1/2 chance of getting something that is completely useless (keys and flashlights) and because of the toolbox nerf, about half of the toolboxes you get out of chests makes you lose time on generations because of 10 seconds searching the chest. (Toolboxes only give you a few seconds of additional gen time)

Oh c'mon, man, is this where we're getting at?
My original statement abridged:
- Nurse is balanced very delicately (any small change would be drastic as she is now)
- She is very punishing to play for the vast majority of players due to their skill level
- The difference between skilled and unskilled nurse players is the most jarring in the game
- Her kit completely circumvents conventional gameplay
- She completely ignores many perks due to her exemption from contemporary play
- She can be very discouraging to play before reaching a certain skill level
- Playing as or against Nurse includes mind games but also has a lot of bling gambles and guessing games
- Her primary balancing element is that her power demands perfect skill
- She is fine where she is - she'd need a rework if we wanted to make her less risk/reward oriented
I don't see where the straw-man is here, aside from the fact we just had this incredibly long and opinionated debate on if there is ever any 'guessing game' or random chance incorporated while playing against her, or if it's 100% psychological jousting at all levels.
This entire time the philosophical spearhead of our discussion was 'Aren't all guessing games and 'blind gambles' just mind-games as well' meaning it has all shifted from the original intent of the threat into a subjective argument as to the definition of what a "Mind Game" is.
Which more or less has devolved into such a guttural discussion of even if minute considerations can be considered 'trickery' by the simple reactionary nature of the game. Even in light of the fact that I never said that ALL plays against the nurse were gambles and that none were skillful.
Which is a very bitter takeaway from the body of such a statement.
We can argue all day and night as to what a "Mind Game" is with points on both sides. But regardless - the statement of the Nurse still stands.
She's fine as is. She needs no changes.
Her primary balancing element is that her power demands perfect skill
This isn't a balancing element. It just means it takes longer to learn her.
The hard part of learning her is muscle memory, once you've developed the muscle memory to know her blink distances, you just decimate survivors unless it happens to be a really good SWF with comms.
This is like saying a bicycle requires skill to use. Sure it's hard to learn, but once you learn it, you keep knowing it. It's not like you have to relearn the Nurse every time you play her.

To be honest, a lot of times I accidently hit the crouch button when throwing a pallet. I did change my keyboard setup to run E,S,D,F and my crouch is on A.

My suggestion is that newly released survivors have perks that are unique and fun to use. BHVR does a good job of creating perks for Killers, however. And that's what they're doing. They're fun and are funny when used but they're not strong enough to be on DH or BT levels.
I would argue that it's the same for killers. But why use those when you can just spam slowdown perks?
Things like flashbang, blastmine, distraction are all very weak perks but do something and are fun to use.
But also, I think there should be different version of DS, BT, Adrenaline, WoO, etc. Maybe make DS clones exclusive from each other.
So say you have a Decisive Strike, that instead of stunning a killer for 5, the survivor throws down a flashbang that blinds the killer for 5 seconds instead. Or a Decisive Strike that throws down a bear trap that traps the killer for 5 seconds while the killer removes the bear trap. Or a Decisive Strike that throws down a smoke grenade and lets you disappear like a stage magician and move 5 seconds away from the killer.
Or a Borrowed Time that works on yourself, instead of other survivors. An adrenaline that full heals you after the exit gates are powered and let's you rescue survivors quicker. A Spine Chill that lets you see the killers aura for a second, when he looks at you.
Killers rely a lot on slowdown perks and there's a big variety to choose from. There's a lot of Meta survivor perks that survivors feel like they need, why not diversify them.
I'm also up for perks that are horrible, getting some buffs or changes, like Corrective Action. What an absolutely horrible perk, why does it even exist.
Honestly, every patch should buff one of the absolutely horrible survivor and one of the absolutely horrible killer perks. If nothing else, change the numbers a bit, which wouldn't take but a second or two of the developers time.

Sbmm belongs in this game, plenty of reasons.
1st, If it didn't exist we would all be facing babies which I don't know why anyone wants to face someone inferior to them other than to just bully them. If you are also into that thing you also should at least be trying it to someone that actually knows how to play.
2nd, The emblem system was easily abusable causing a lack of variety as well as a constant lack of information amongst the community as a whole. Killers could run corrupt with a nurse and just rack up a bunch of hits by just landing on the survivors while trapper/clown/myers (the variety) would just become territorial punishing their rating in the first place for existing. Sounds like a survivor sided mess, yes it was. Survivors could split gens against a weaker killer as of course hook bombing at the end along with old ds being abused at the end of a trial or you could just key out through the hatch with your team. The system only works when you have everyone playing in predictable ways along with the game not being asymmetrical whatsoever. Which Dead By Daylight should not have to take what works with the game and why it is successful in the first place to appease players that just want to feel like they're winning constantly.
3rd, The game needs a reliable way to measure someone's skill. If you do it by chase, weaker killers will suffer inherently survivors earning mmr for existing. You do it by hooks, weaker killers will suffer inherently survivors earning mmr for existing. With sbmm, you eliminate all those issues. Dbd gives you strategies all around the board along with a build picked by yourself to obtain a set of kills or escapes. Who has any right to determine any of that being skillful other than being able to complete your goal? No one does unless you have completed your objective. Also sbmm will be able determine which killer powers/addons/perks/items needs tweaking. It only seems now more than ever I see really decent balance changes across the board for both sides, notice how they don't need to look at survivor/killer mains barraging the forums about balance. They now can actually properly make decisions using mathematics and data to solve those problems finally.
Sbmm at the end of the conversation will always create a way for both sides to complete their objective rather than it being a one sided mess. Whereas killers used to be chained up to the emblem system or to the hatch mechanic. They now have way more freedom. Along with these changes came great additions to survivors as well broadening their smaller meta as well bringing more variety, while the game can still feel survivor sided it actually isn't since the boons can deactivate a ds or cause over confident plays allowing a weaker killer to take advantage of the situation. If you don't like sbmm, maybe its not the system or the game itself. Maybe you just need to change your playstyle or your build. Sometimes we all have to look in the mirror instead of just complain.
The final thing to mention as well, if you really don't want to play the game the way it is intended to be played you can always form custom match scenarios. Another thing I don't understand about this community is the absolute laziness and pettiness behind it sometimes, you don't have to play sbmm just like the Halo players don't have to play ranked/social matches, because they can form their own custom matches. Also when the halo community did this and 343 caught on to this and brought them a custom browser because players actually utilized that system. Maybe players in dbd could do the same exact thing and the devs might consider adding in a better way to create more scenarios.
I agree with you. However, I am beginning to believe that killers as a whole would be better served by having a bot mode. There's a lot of killers that get stressed out playing against humans and really do want easier chill matches. LOL has a bot mode and some people prefer it.

What are those percentages in hte screenshots in your post?
I got it off an aggregate DBD stats website, Nightlight. Those are the percentage the perks are being used by survivors. (The website gathers stats from players who submit endgame data). It's not BHVRs data, but it does kind of give you a rough idea what people are doing in dbd.

The problem is to make new meta perks for survivor you either need to nerf the existing meta to make room or you need to make even stronger perks which would get ridiculous
Like gen slowdown perks for killers, you can add different versions of DS, BT, Adrenaline, etc. Maybe a Borrowed Time that works for the hooked survivor instead of being on the unhooker. A DS that throws down a flashbang that blinds the killer for 5 seconds instead of a 5 second stun. These perks can be mutually exclusive from each other, you can only use 1 type of DS.
Give survivors the perk variety that killers enjoy.
I mean, you have to do something or 4/5s of your player base will just stop buying content.

Remember your highschool geometry, my friend.
While the tile size is not all that big, the distance you must travel to navigate it is.
If you have to get around 2 structures / fences that are 3 tiles wide in order to travel 2 tiles of distance - those 2 tiles are effectively going to be 6 tiles long.
The distance from the back yard of the main building to the generator inside is less than 12 meters, but requires over twice that distance to be traveled to kick it.
If you KNOW that someone is healing upstairs, so you walk around the insde of the house, around the fence, through the door, around the rooms, up the stairs, and over to the balcony where they are healing - it's a much greater distance you have to travel than the sum of the space between,
Volume =/= distance.
By volume, it's not at all the largest map around. But by relative distance - it is massive.
But that's true of all-but-two maps in DbD. The only 2 that don't have structures in them is Shelter Woods and Wreckers yard.
Unless, Haddonfield is a complete maze, like RPD?

It would be super cool to make a certain area super foggy for like Immersion purposes, and the aesthetic would make it super creepy! Silent Hill vibes basically... It would go well with like quick and quiet and other stealth perks ,and It would be a brand new effect. Do you guys think this Is a cool Idea?
I really like this idea. It's completely original and new. It would be really nice to see something like this, instead of the umpteenth Healing perk, exhaustion perk or completely useless perk.

The map isn’t “massive”, in fact they reduced its size in the revamp. From the notes on the updated Wiki for Lampkkn Land
- This update also removed two rectangular pieces from opposite outer edges of the Map outline, reducing the Map's size from 168 sqT to 152 sqT.
For context the median map size is 156 tiles so it’s actually smaller than most maps. (For comparison Mother’s Dwelling, the “Red Forest” map you’re probably referring to, is 188 tiles, it’s way bigger than Haddenfield.)
I was going to say the new Haddonfield map looked small.

I've not played since before the new MMR.
I came back today and had games switching from annoying to hard. It's probably better than getting only hard games during the first half of the night so ... yay?
The one thing I've notice though is that in a lobby one survivor was way less experienced than me and his friends (He was around 70 hours, his friends in the thousands.)
Bad luck, I thought, he was the first survivor I found, as Nurse, but I immediately noticed something was wrong. He wasn't moving at all like a beginner (good mind games, Nurse-trained, looking back, sliding over the walls, well timed DH, cocky). The guy had probably as much hours as his friends (and me). The guys were very obviously an SWF4 too.
So, is that the new "tech" to lower a team's MMR? You put one alt-accounts in the team?
(Still killed the guy, if only to confirm it wasn't a fluke)
MMR will not automatically create smurfs for high level players. It's so that higher level players are getting to stressed out playing at high MMR and the developers want to give them breaks by giving them players under their skill level.
Not sure if the same thing is happening in mid ranks, the mods said it wasn't, but I've been seeing conflicting information coming up on the forums.

Impossible : no.
Very difficult and stressful : yes, especially if you do not play one of the two or three good ones.
Try mercilessly tunneling, it will make the game a bit easier (but will sap even more fun from the matches)
LOL, this is the part I don't understand. I think every killer knows that tunneling-off-hook-till-dead and face-camping is not fun to do. Yet killers players refuse to let tunneling-off-hook-till-dead and face-camping to be nerfed.
It would make the game more fun for killer players, because, as long as tunneling-off-hook-till-dead and face-camping exist, the game will always be balanced around those 2 tactics. But whatever, I'm losing faith in the developers to fix major problems, they're too busy making paid content instead of fixing problems that driving players away.

You are wrong about the downsides of the Nurse. If it's all you know I'm betting you are having and hard time against her. Check some streamer tutorial, there are plenty available.
You are also incomplete for the rest of the killer list.
LOL, I am incomplete with the rest of the list.

I am not really interested nor have much knowledge about it, all I know is it is a tag where ppl that are non straight grp up basicly and want to support each other or their rights which is totally fine and nice imo.
However I see this often, same goes to BHVR here.
Why is it so important to spread the message officially across the internet that you are gay, trans whatever? If you are really considering yourself and want to live like this then you should do it for yourself not to tell it everyone around you trying to catch their attention somehow?
It just seems to be attention seeking if you scream that out loud just like what happened with David. Again nothing against that, couldnt care less, but why all that official outroar?
Because minorities end up in concentration camps when they don't constantly fight for acceptance and rights.
Every society's majority default position is to remove minorities rights. If minorities don't constantly fight for acceptance, then the majority is going to remove those rights, one by one.
You cannot understand how stressful it is, to know that it takes one single Hitler, Francisco Franco, Robert Mugabe, or what-ever anti-gay dictator is going to come along and decide you don't deserve to live.

Yeah, and she can’t use any other killer assistance method either. It’s almost like she eliminates all clutter from both sides and makes it only skill-dependent on who is better at mindgaming.
She can’t chase via pure move speed (without meme-tier add-ons), she can’t utilize Bloodlust, window blockers are basically irrelevant to her, she cannot realistically utilize most mindgames 110-115% killers can (eg double back walking around a loop), and she can’t use a normal lunge either (her lunge post-blink is 5.667m compared to the standard 6m, her regular post-blink is 3.333m compared to the standard 3m, to punish inaccurate blinks and better reward accurate ones).
She doesn’t nullify chase. She makes it different rules, and one that still performs at a fair even level when players of even skill go against each other. If you want to contest this, you should go ahead and cite proof. The aggregate self-report collection-only site of a few thousand games is not proof.
She can’t chase via pure move speed (without meme-tier add-ons)
She has teleport, which is much faster than any killers walking speeds, of course she doesn't walk. This is like saying the Nurse can't use her bike all-the-while she's driving everywhere in her Lamborghini. Well let me tell you, every other killer is riding a bike while the Nurse is keeping hers in the trunk of her Lamborghini.
she can’t utilize Bloodlust
Again, she teleports. Would you really walk when you can teleport right on top of people.
window blockers are basically irrelevant to her
So the Nurse ignoring windows that every other killer has to deal with, is a downside...
she can’t use a normal lunge either (her lunge post-blink is 5.667m compared to the standard 6m, her regular post-blink is 3.333m compared to the standard 3m, to punish inaccurate blinks and better reward accurate ones).
Every other killers teleport-lunge is much worse than Nurse's teleport lunge. When I was teleport-lunging with Trapper, it just didn't seem to work.
---
I'm going to list the downsides to each killer.
- Nurse: Some Mindgames
- Trapper: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Wraith: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Billy: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Michael Myers: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Hag: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Doctor: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
- Huntress: Mindgames, Windows, Pallets, Loops, Walls
Do you notice a pattern here. 1 killer in the entire DBD roster gets to ignore everything except for mindgames. And by the way, the Nurse can actually ignore a lot of mind games that every other killer doesn't get to ignore. Specifically, the Nurse ignores every mindgame that doesn't break line of sight.
So if a survivor is on the other side of a short wall, all the other killers have to try and force the survivor toward the shortest side of the loop. Nurse just teleports across and completely ignores the short wall.
Nurse is not and will never be balanced while she can teleport through objects.
-
@SuzuKR said:
It’s amazing how many people continue to use the same inane argument she ignores every defense as if mindgaming wasn’t the most important aspect of chase for and against any killer anyways.
Nurse is like any other killer except you can't use loops, you can't use pallets, you can't use windows. Nurse is exactly like all the other killers, except she gets to ignore every defense survivors get to use against all the other killers.
So technically, she's unfair not only for survivors but all the other killers that don't get to ignore all the defenses survivors have, except for mind-games.
So it kind of amazes me that people continue to defend the Nurse even though she's like every other killer except she can ignore everything every other killer cannot ignore, accept for mindgames.

I have hardly played the past few days because my drive to startup the game is almost non-existent. Looking at the player counts it appears my sentiment is shared among most.
I watched some Twitch to look at the patch and what I saw was not very encouraging. A popular streamer camping and tunneling everyone out of the match and eventually survivors gave up. I literally saw a Dwight and a Kate looking at a Legion in his eyes asking to be sacrificed because it was impossible for them to win. This is after the killer camped someone unnecessarily in the basement. Survivors not able to escape either and complaining about how bad their teammates are. Can I be reminded why the hatch and keys were ruined? Survivor gameplay is way too hard now. I actually saw no survivors escaping in a span of about 45 minutes.
The patch is 100% killer favored and now Legion is so overpowered there is nobody going to escape. Not to mention how unfun they are to verse. Survivors hit hard with more unnecessary nerfs is really causing a very lack of any enthusiasm. A fun boon mechanic ruined, there is no reason to use them now. I find it disappointing a healing perk has nerfed into the ground while buffing a killer that makes it extremely easy to injure people and actually down. Downing that fourth person is going to probably be happening a lot because of how long Legion can maintain his fast speed.
And now we have an old character with a sexuality change against his will that can potentially be targeted with no way to defend against that.
Balancing and priorities needs to change before the Titanic sinks. I can't be alone with this opinion.
I'll be honest, I'm honestly moving away from DbD myself. I started playing survivor with my friends because we wanted something to play while we hung out. Anymore it's just not worth the frustration, I started up Diablo 3 with my friend and it's just much more relaxing. I've noticed I've also started playing LOL more too, just because I know I'll have fair matches and be able to actually play the game instead of sitting on a hook staring into Leatherfaces cold empty eyes for 2 minutes plus however much time it takes to find a game and wait for everyone to ready up. DBD has become a Christmas Tree simulator anymore.

Honest question, how much of the camping and tunneling is due to the (today nerfed) Circle of Healing and how much is just the Killers being campy tunnelers?
Killers are not campy-tunnelers. It's only because of CoH that camping and tunneling sprung into existence. Once CoH is nerfed, survivors will never see camping and tunneling again. Well, maybe after DH is nerfed also. After DH is nerfed and DS and BT are removed, then camping and tunneling will magically vanish. Sprint Burst and Adrenaline probably will need to be removed after DS and BT, then camping and tunneling will disappear. Once the only perk survivors can use is Corrective Action, then camping and tunneling will be removed. Well, maybe get rid of all of the survivor perks and make sure they don't have arms and legs, then camping and tunneling will be removed, the killers promise.

I guess I understand, with killers like Bubba, Demo, Blight, Twins, Slinger, the joker wannabe whatever he's called, looping is sort of pointless, but where does that leave the rest of the roaster?
"So sorry, you suck?"
BHVR Can't be fine with that... Can they???
Actually... Why not... After all, it'll incentives you to buy the new and improved killers -.- I hate capitalism man...
Nurse is an old killer and she completely ignores every survivor defense, so you really don't need to buy the new roster.

To be fair, Nurse ignores TRADITONAL means of defence
the solution is to be unorthodox and break LoS as much as possible (and also run Iron Will), which most people don't know how to do
All killers require you to break LoS as much as possible. Also, with all killers except Nurse, you can loop, throw pallets and use windows.
The Nurse is broken because she ignores every defense that survivors have and use against every other killer in the game, except for breaking line-of-sight. If the Nurse had other weaknesses survivors could exploit that other killers did not have, then it would be fine, but she doesn't.
Consider this, what if The Trapper could walk through every wall, window and pallet in the game. How would that be fair. It's not fair for other killers and it's not fair for survivors.
Sure Nurse is hard to learn, but once you learn her, your basically god-mode.

Sounds more like entitlement more than a balance issue, if undying was release today with all the anti totem and boons survivors have, it will never be meta. Why play any hexes when they can be deleted in less than a minute in most games. Ruin is not strong, it was only good because it was the only option killer have for gen regression besides pop and pop is way better since it’s not a hex.
Well I guess the developers are entitled then since they are the ones that did it. So I guess you should complain to them since they just willy-nilly nerf perks because they're so entitled.

hexes are balanced and easily counter, so yeah undying nerf wasn’t justify survivors just hate doing bones for some reason even till this day with all the anti totem perks and items that can have show you aura of totems
Undying was not a balanced perk, hence it was justifiably nerfed by the developers. Hex: Ruin can win games single handedly and is one of the most powerful and used perks in the entire game. With the old Undying, you multiplied Hex:Ruin by 3 to 5 as powerful.
Survivors don't have time to do all 5 sets of bones and the "just do bones" has become a meme on these forums for exactly that reason.

I don't know what was done to the MMR about 3-4 weeks ago but it's made this game unplayable in the solo queue. I've been playing this game for the past ~3 years and I keep dying on 1st or 2nd hook because I keep getting paired with new/trash players who just stay on gens & don't get their asses out to unhook and get chased by the killer.
Several streamers I follow who played either solely DBD on their channel or mainly DBD have been deserting it after this atrocity. I'm ready to do the same because this is pure garbage and not fun. If you're going to do this, might as well give veterans another 2 extra hooks before death (5 hooks) and built in Deliverance, except with no broken status because it's BS that we can't play this game normally.
Until 3-4 weeks ago I used to get players around my same skill level where we used to set up plays of unhooking players face camped by killers with NOED active where one of us looked for the totem and then helped the other unhook by taking a protection hit from the killer. I have been able to do that maybe once in the past month that the matchmaking has become trash.
This game is unplayable unless you have a SWF team, and even when you do, you have to deal with trash killers who tunnel & camp from the start of the match.
One of the mods said that the new MMR system wouldn't sacrifice lower-level players to killers to make games easier. However, this post has me worried the developers did exactly that. Here's part of the MMR post that was suggesting that lower-skill players were being sacrificed so high-level players would have easier matches.
