  • The DC'ing wasn't an issue while the test was live. The only issue was the number of posts about "I DC'd when my dog pulled the internet cable out, but I got a 30 minute ban" and other ridiculous nonsense, when you know damn well they DC'd enough times to warrant the timeout.

Just bring that back, please. It made the game so much better. I'll take a 5-10 minute softban for my FIRST DC if that's what it takes. Really. I've only DC'd maybe a dozen total times in all my hours, and I'm more than willing to take a 5-10 minute softban for a DC. If it's for a legitimate emergency, I probably won't even see it since I'll be dealing with an emergency...

  • This is why a lot of people farm BP on their main Killer, then just use that to level up their new ones. To me that is a bad idea because you don't learn their power, all you learn is their power with Perks you are used to using. I prefer to start at level 5, get that 2nd perk slot + potentially more useful Perks than base, and go from there. You can't learn a Killer's power if you play it with the exact same perks, in the exact same way, as other Killers.

  • I always thought David was a typical college bro type who just loved to fight. Drunken English football thug style. Seemed to fit his character.

Thanks! I’ll try it out with insidious trapper. Survivors like to loot the chest in the basement, I’ll be ready for them!

One of the funniest matches I was ever in was a Trapper meme'ing. He camped the basement chest, and as long as you made no moves toward it, he stayed there. Otherwise he was coming for your soul because "No one was allowed to touch HIS chest."

The other 3 people in the match, Megs in an SWF, of course got rekt with them all eventually DC'ing. I just farmed a bunch of stuff, finished 4 gens (they had finished one before going into the basement), did some totems and headed out the gate. Had a good laugh about it with the Trapper in post-game. I thought it was funny AF.

  • Last time I bothered to look at Perk selection rates was back when they said Self Care was only used 22% of the time. They didn't bother to provide the information that it was 22% of the time per Perk slot. So you're looking at 80%+ Survivors were using it.

You can come up with statistics for anything, but without any context on how they are counting them you can't really draw any conclusions.

  • Not now. I changed my review to a negative until they fix matchmaking. I see this as the worst problem in DbD right now. If they can fix that, then I would 100% recommend it. It's a fun game at its core. Some things need addressed though before I'll switch that back to a recommend.

  • The problem being, that there's no losing rank for easier matches to gain more skill. Sitting at Rank 13 atm, and I've faced more purples/reds than I have greens/yellows by a large margin.

Before you can cry "Nerf, buff, blah blah" you need to address matchmaking and make it so that Killers can face Survivors of equal skill. But hey, that's not really possible at all tbh, because deranking exists. When you're Rank 20 facing 4 Rank 20 Survivors with a full meta T3 loadout, obviously there is something else wrong with the game besides Perks getting nerfed.

Part of it is the playerbase, there will always be trolls and people who get a rush bullying anyone they can, but the matchmaking needs addressed before anything can be balanced. Without that, there's no real use because you're going to have matches all over the spectrum of imbalance and that will simply give you trash data with which to balance the game.

I also feel like I get blinded sooner as killer. I'll see a feint light and then BAM I'm blinded. Was it a perma blind or were you able to see before you DC'd?

I was getting about half a second of vision before I'd get blinded again. It wasn't that perma-blind bug that's been floating around from how people have described it. They just kept flashlighting me while another Survivor locked me into the wall.

  • @asergioam said:

In this situation it would be fun if you waited for the flashlight to deplete (and have recorded the match), and then facecamped. This is a flashlight bug if I'm not mistaken and that was an exploit so a report wouldn't be discharged by the Devs.

Yeah. Sadly I wasn't recording at the time. Making an effort to learn Demogorgon's game play atm, and my matches have been frustrating to say the least. Gen times are so fast, LOT of toolboxes, so I don't get much time to practice anything with it.

Really salty AF though about this whole thing. I don't mind getting blinded, it's part of the game as irritating as it is, but to get basically stun locked for however many clicks you can get out of a flashlight is pretty trash imo.

  • @BabyOniMain said:

Elaborate? Is this a bug where you can't move your camera and look at the sky?

Tried. I still got blinded. First thing I tried in fact. Managed to look at the wall as well, but I still got blinded from the side. Not sure what is going on, but it is not healthy at all.

  • Take your Survivors back to Rank 1. This entire night's playing has been against deranked full T3 meta Survivors, either SWF or not, and it's getting ridiculous. How the hell am I supposed to learn how to play a Killer properly when all I get is some idiot with a flashlight, 2 toolboxes, and a medkit who all hit gens when they aren't being chased?

I've been looped, flashlight spammed (this ######### is broken btw. How the hell do these things insta-blind when they were found in a chest?), basically just bullied all to hell, while I'm trying to learn a Killer. Take these idiots back to Rank 1 where they belong and leave the people trying to learn the game in peace to their own thing ffs.

Thanks for creating this problem BHVR.

  • If they let them die on the hook, as I always leave and allow the unhook, I'll try to find the hatch and kill them. If they go for the save, and it has been a fun match, I'll give the last person the hatch. Being selfish and uncaring for your fellow Survivors makes me work a bit harder for the kill though.

Survivor side, I always try for the save. Unless they just give up to give me the hatch, I'm going to try to get them off safely so they can get the hatch. I will martyr myself for anyone, except David, because I hate Davids.

  • It's lag. I've been hit with this badly myself. 300 MB connection, 50-55 ping solid in the lobby, yet I rubberband, see "ghosts" running away from me who end up 20 meters in the opposite direction, and I won't even discuss the disappearing/reappearing scratchmarks. Welcome to getting "dedicated'.

The BS hits are real though. I've landed a number of them, including getting pallet stunned afterwards and the Survivor landing 20 meters away from the pallet they stunned me with. Not to mention the T-Posed Survivor husk still hanging on the hook after they've been unhooked. Guess what? If you hit that "husk", it actually hits the Survivor too. Good luck finding them though, as they are usually 50-60 meters away swearing at you while they are on the ground wondering how you managed to hit them.

  • @LemeTheMeme said:

Ditch the whole emblem thing and focus on surviving and killing. How it is now is super unreliable and you can still pip if you don't escape and you can sometimes not even pip if you 4k. Even if they add certain scoring based on individual killers, it will still be a flawed mess. It really doesn't need to be more complex than that.

If a killer 0-1k's he de-pips. If a killer 2-3k's he pips. If a killer 4k's he double pips. No pity pips.

If a survivor dies, they de-pip. If a survivor escapes they pip. They can't double pip anymore.

Not only will this help with making people stay in their rank, but will help with keeping survivors more than likely in their respective ranks and decrease the flow of red rank survivors. Not only that, but it creates and ACTUAL win condition for both sides! Which is something that has never been addressed, and quite frankly, as of now, it's subjective to how the individual views winning as. Personally, I view winning as getting more than 25k points as killer, and more than 20k points as survivor.

They did this with Killers before. It encourages Camping and other behavior Survivors have labeled as toxic. Why? Simply because who the hell is going to leave the hook when their Rank is dependent on kills?

Give Killers all the BBQ and Chili you want, when you implement a system based specifically on kills, they are going to kill and too bad if you wanted a fun match. When this system was in place, I saw more Campers than ever before. It was every single match because "muh rank".

Matchmaking, Ranks, and Emblems can never be well balanced because potatoes exist on both sides in ranks they didn't really earn. Perks will carry either side. SWF will carry Survivors. Crutches are crutches, whether it's DS, Adrenaline, BT, SB etc, or Ruin, BBQ, etc. There are reasons they are meta Perks because they can change the flow of a game significantly when used properly.

Since the balance is 2 kills, 2 escapes. Winning is either 3 kills or an escape (3 escapes if you are playing as a group in SWF perhaps). The fact you can have multiple "winners" in a match makes any sort of balance foolish to begin with. At best, you can balance matches so each side enjoys it enough to play another round.

There doesn't need to be any other win condition than what you set for yourself. This is not a competitive game, there are no e-sports leagues drooling at those 10 4ks in a row you got, there exist tournaments but from what I've seen/heard they aren't too good, and if you need some shiny pin stuck to your lapel for doing a "good job", well that's what achievements are for, right? Anything else is simply pushing your own views onto the general playerbase, and sorry, I have my own views as to what a win is for me. I stick to it and feel good when I manage to accomplish my goals. Everything else is just gravy.

  • NOED is too endgame I think. Pig is more early/mid (by who's definition? Lol) in my eyes. Her traps are meant to slow Survivors down, and force them off of gens so they don't make their team mate go PoP! They just don't do this very effectively from what I've seen. She can build an effective endgame of course, all Killers can, but the fact her traps have 0 power as soon as that last generator pops makes her extremely vulnerable to Survivors getting their objectives done.

If she really got tweaked, she'd need something that heightens her early/mid game, or else make traps viable in the endgame and build on that.

From the Survivor side, I honestly feel 0 fear about getting a trap on my head. I know I have plenty of time to get it off, so I'll usually go pop a gen, or at least get it to 50% or higher if I'm solo'ing it. The only time I have had an issue is if Amanda is camping the Jigsaw boxes, and then it's pretty much game over so I'll run her as long as I can to let my team mates get gens done.

Her traps are a nice gimmick, but they have no bite and don't do what they were intended to do, especially with the changes to end game mechanics. Give her back some end game potential or make them more punishing in the early/mid game, and she'll be a comfortable spot. IMO at least.

  • RBTs should auto-start when used after the last gen has popped, but before EGC begins.

Her crouch/uncrouch should be quickened. This hurts her the worst I think.

I think she should only roar if the Survivor(s) see her during the lunge. Otherwise, it should be silent.

Is it still a thing to escape through the hatch with an active RBT? Can't remember if that was ever changed.

  • I would be upset, but not majorly. I've bought almost all the DLC with cash, but considering an hour vs dollar ratio, I've MORE than gotten my money's worth out of it. Had some great times, and some frustrating times, but I'd just move on and find something else to play. I do have a couple games in my backlog I really should get into. That and Steam sales... I hate Steam sales because I buy a bunch of stuff I shouldn't due to limited play time. Damn you Steam!!

I play casual though, and I have no income coming in from this game in the form of subs for streaming or whatever. Anyone who's major source of income stems from this game would be hurting for sure. I doubt it will happen though, at least not until BHVR has a legitimate game to take its place.

For all its faults, Dead by Daylight is still a damn fun game to play. I get rekt, I roflstomp some, I have tense and enjoyable matches, and that's just in one evening's play time. It always makes me feel a bit bad for the super tryhards and "professional" players because at its core, DbD IS a game for casuals like me. I play it for a month or three, take a little break and get heavy into other games, then come back to it for another go round. Pick up a few cosmetics for my mains and don't bother with the rest. This is not a competitive game even though it looks like one on the surface.

It's here for the memes and the lulz, and if it ever shuts down for good, I'll say a thank you for letting me enjoy myself as much as I have and move on to the next.

  • I feel bad for the new Survivors now. The matchmaking got worse with the update, but loving my queue times as a Killer (less than 10 seconds every match!!!!). Having that random Rank 20 in a match though is pretty awful. Just think how much fun they are having now! No Ruin, but hey, you only got 5k points because you got matched up with 3 SWF Red Ranks who want to troll and piss off the Yellow Rank Killer.

The only good thing about this that I can see is... at least I'll get 1 kill per match. Although I can't do it on the Hag because they screwed her up and it's irritating AF trying to play her right now. Oh well. Demodoggy gets to come out of his Kennel for a bit I guess. He does need to get prestiged three times.

I really love oatmeal raising cookies. Homemade of course, not that store bought trash. Nothing says comfort like some oatmeal raisin cookies, a glass of milk, and hanging people on meathooks. I'll even offer them a cookie if they are nice to me.

  • I get an adrenaline rush sometimes, but not that fear rush I used to get when I first started playing. Occasionally playing against a stealthy Killer who is excellent with their stealth mechanics, I get some good jumpscares which are usually accompanied by something along the lines of "You dirty ***********" or similar. After so many matches though, the TR is just a way to keep track of the Killer and not a "time to gtfo and hide" notification.

  • Bad matchmaking, getting "dedicated" a lot more with the update. Otherwise, the usual. Against coordinated or SWF, I get rekt. Against 2-man + solo, or all solo, I do pretty well.

New Gatekeeper makes it a lot easier to pip. I had 2 Merciless Killer matches that felt "right" for me to get that double pip rather than getting Ruthless and feeling I got cheated out of a pip because Gatekeeper burned me.

Matchmaking is even worse I think. First 3 matches had one random Rank 20, grouped up with all Purples/Reds. It was a bit frustrating. Last few matches though were reasonable. Purples and greens, no reds.

Dunno if it's intentional, but you also can't use firecrackers in tier 3 madness.

Probably intentional. You can't use any items in T3 madness iirc.

  • I'm a Feng main. I hate the bunny outfit. It's absolutely ridiculous looking.

She should instead be given a cat outfit. Cats are intelligent and cute, just like Feng. Imagine a hoodie with cat ears, and she could have whiskers too. MUCH better than some silly bunny outfit.

  • Don't worry. It'll be in the game for at least a month because "That's a complex issue that we will need time to gather information on before seeing if it needs fixed."

  • I like Ruin Nerf Day. It made queue times for me as a Killer to be 10 seconds max. I actually have the luxury of cherry picking my matches a bit, so I don't feel bad dodging that sweaty ass SWF looking squad with 2 toolboxes, a flashlight, and a medkit all dressed up in their neon glowing best, except that Blendette.

Literally made it SO much easier to play Killer, because I didn't have to wait for matches! Thank you BHVR!

  • I would leave a gen and go hide in a corner whenever I'd hear the beginnings of a TR. Sit there for like 10-20 seconds looking around, then find a competely different gen to work on because "The Killer knew I was at the other one". It did not work out very well on my end usually, especially since I didn't know how scratchmarks worked so I ran around a good bit trying to figure out how the Killer found me so easily.

  • I play solo queue always. I'd try to make the save, or if I knew the Killer was hanging around the hook, take a quick look around for the totem before going in for the save. Hopefully I have BT in my kit, so the person I unhook can gtfo easier, I don't always run it. Either way though, if it ends up with 2 on the hook, I'm still going to take a shot at it.

Escaping is secondary to me. If everyone else isn't going in for it, I'll YOLO save if I have to. Gotta give that person at least one more chance to get out. Even if they die, I did everything I could to try and save them, and that makes me happy.

fwiw, yeah, I hook trade a lot and end up dying. Lol. But damn it's fun to take the chance. Usually end up saving the person so that works out in the end. The best ones are when everyone swarms the hook, Killer comes in drooling, NOED gets busted and we all get out alive. That's not very common though. Usually it's someone else on the hook, maybe 2, and I'm giggling in post-game because it was funny AF to watch the Killer go "tfw this #########?" while we lemming on into his/her arms.

  • I actually wouldn't mind seeing a modified version of this tbh. Maybe if you came into the lobby as a solo queue, you could see the Perks the Killer was running. I know this helped me a TON when I was a new player, just seeing the most common Perks, and especially when I had a question about something happening in the match.

There's ways to abuse this though of course, friend from wherever in the match too, you just happened to load into the same match as them. Then you message them of course. I just think that new players, who aren't going to stick around when they die, should at least know what took them out instead of having to wait until the end.

There were a few times in my first couple dozen matches that I honestly thought the Killer was cheating, until I looked at their perks + add-ons and went "Ohhhhhh. Well that's a neat Perk/add-on. I have to remember that when playing against X Killer."

  • OHKO Killers and mechanics such as the Trapper's have been punished from Day 1 of the emblem system. This was supposed to be worked on with either the 2nd Chapter or 3rd, I can't remember the QnA about it. It has never happened. One of the couple things I am a bit salty about because when I play Trapper, I want to grab out of the trap, not do that stupid hit + pickup.

  • The same way a Survivor disconnecting hurts the Killer's points and emblems. Bring back DC penalties and it will become rare instead of how common it is right now.

  • Not quite as bad as it was when a Survivor running 40 meters away would throw them up on the 2nd floor of the Thompson House, but I've been seeing them up to 12'ish meters away from where they are running.

Only thing I can think this is is desync with the dedicated servers. Especially when I watch a Survivor running, and they keep running, but their scratch marks will disappear completely for a few steps, then reappear. Happens frequently when there is a quick set of actions going on, like a hit through a pallet stun, then the stun, then the Survivor jumps over the pallet again and runs. Scratch marks will frequently not appear at all for their first half dozen steps.

I ran T3 Predator for a few matches to see what would happen, and I saw the same things, just in a straight line instead of thrown all over the place. Many times scratch marks would just disappear for a bit then magically reappear.

  • She's A+ in the right hands, I'd say. Her problem is mobility. She has issues putting pressure on gens because she has that slow move speed. If you can get hatchets in people, then you can apply more pressure, but there are a lot of good survivors who can dodge them thus extending a chase.

Hitboxes are all over the place as well, so right now I'd say she is B Tier. Hopefully if they push the dedicated updates from the PTB she will get a lot better and go back to dominating a bit more.

Any Killer you want to rank should be based on their basekit, never add-ons. Most Killers are add-on dependent to avoid getting run over, but that is also dependent on the player's skill level with that Killer. I've played against perma T3 Myers that got run over because they were trash in chases. I've also played against Perkless, Add-onless Clowns that completely wrecked the team because they were just that good.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Wow this is really good. As for how swf might be fixed: kindred basekit, totem counter, and chase indicator. Your thoughts?

Chase Indicator like we have for the Obsession would be nice.

Kindred basekit... maybe. If it showed where everyone was at, but not if the Killer is camping. You could easily tell by the way someone goes in and then comes right back out for that. Especially since Kindred negates Killer Stealth abilities (still does this right?).

Totem Counter... maybe all the totems you've seen personally? I think this in itself would be extremely strong. It obviously mimics SWF + comms potential, but having that uncertainty of "Did we get all the totems so NOED doesn't pop?" is a good thing in the game.

IMO, if you do this, the Killers will need seriously buffs themselves. The devs keep saying they want to buff Solo queue to the level of SWF and then buff Killers from there, but I have yet to really see anything on this level other than some buffs to various Perks.

As far as the various OP items, the problem I see there is that there aren't enough placeholders on the Bloodwebs. You only have a couple URs on a Killer/Survivor and that's it. Everytime a web is generated there is a very good chance of having 1 on there, and since there is no real variety you end up with the same ones. I see Ebony Moris all the time, I just choose to not get them as I'm pushing for levels and Perks. 7k BP is too much to spend on one node. They need to massively increase the rarity of these items, say to max 1 in 5-7 webs, because they really are not that Ultra Rare.

If you add more URs, you increase the items the Bloodweb can pull from so the ones that are gamechanging become actual Ultra Rares. Whether it's some form of UR Offering for BP, or changing another mechanic in the game, they need to stuff some variety in there otherwise it'll be Moris every web for some people. The same with Keys as well as add-ons.

  • I find it funny that the original Dying Light made Killers want to tunnel and sacrifice the Obsession ASAP. New DL makes Killers want to keep the Obsession alive as long as possible so they can get maximum stacks on it.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

    Know what else sucks?

When you queue as survivor for 7 minutes just to be met with a mori game after game after game.

Can someone please reduce the frequency of these in the bloodwebs? Especially when after waiting in a queue for so long I’m hoping to get a game I can actually enjoy!

Reducing their frequency won't make a difference. Lots of Killers have them stockpiled because they don't use them normally. I never go for one unless I absolutely have to take it, and even I've got a few on my Killers.

  • When the DC penalties were being tested there in Decemeber, it was the BEST games I've ever played on DbD. You had some people suicide on the first hook, but fine, that at least eats a little of the Killer's time up so I can get something done besides: Load in, pan around, DC, think "Oh great. Here we go again."

Bring back the DC penalties. They made this game so much more enjoyable for those like me who don't care who they're playing against, what perks/add-ons they are using, and where they are playing at. I literally don't care. I am going to try my best everytime. Sometimes I fail, sometimes I succeed. All that matters is I did the best I could do for myself and my "team". Even if sometimes I want to slap them.

I've DC'd maybe twice? three times? due to legitimate toxic idiots. I've had... perhaps 10 DCs due to internet issues or the game freezing on me. Over the course of 770+ hours, that's pretty decent I'd say. I sometimes wonder how many of these freezing issues are caused by people having a ton of apps open on their potato PC, or else they are simply trying to justify their "I don't like to play against/with X" mindset.

Suck it up, people of the Fog. Bring back those DC penalties, make them harsher if you like, they won't affect me at all. I'll just keep on playing the game the way I like, and hope that others will do the same.

  • There isn't a single thing you can do to balance the game until Ranks mean something. You have potato Survivors at high ranks who got there with SWF, the extreme ease of pipping as a Survivor, and the new reset rules. The reverse is also true. You have Rank 20 Survivors with meta T3 Perk loadouts who play 4-man + comms to bully new Killers and have their "fun". Unless you can come up with a way to Rank people that is actually useful, Rank means nothing and is useless in ANY data.

Once you can separate the good from the bad, then you can look at the data from those matches and determine where the problem lies. This will never happen though because the emblem system doesn't work properly (poor OHKO Killers getting jacked out of points because they used their actual in-game power), Gatekeeper is a hot mess (you get screwed on the emblem because 3 Survivors spawned in and all 3 finished a generator separate while you chased the 4th even if you allow no more gens to get completed), and I've had frequent issues with Chaser not registering a Chase beginning before I got a hit and/or down on someone (this actually caused me to depip instead of safety once because I got a number of surprise hits in before the Survivor started running).

There are so many variables regarding matches right now, that any stats the devs throw out there are going to be worthless from the start. Unless you go on a match by match basis, Rank each person in the match based on actual skill, figure out some sort of metric to judge how much they did in each match (did they only gen jockey? did they run the Killer for 5 minutes? etc), and then adjust for 2-man, 3-man, 4-man SWF and then 2/3/4 with comms, you will never be able to get any sort of reasonably accurate data from the game. It's just numbers vomited forth that show "Hey a bunch of people played this game. They are of skill level from newbie to elite. They did these things." and that's it. Nothing more, nothing less.

About the only data that seems even close to legit is the Perk percentages, and that is even skewed to a certain extent because we have a meta that has been stale for months, if not years.

  • When I'm playing Myers, I tend to say stuff like "Daddy's home! Come give him a kiss!" when I get a grab in T1/T2, or "Who's your Daddy now, #########?" when I pop T3 and down someone, especially a flashlight warrior who's blinded me on every pallet.

Anytime I'm playing Hag or Trapper and a Survivor sets off a trap, I always scream random nonsense, especially if it's been a tense game. That and when some cocky looper screws up and I down them I yell stuff. My neighbors always say something to me the next day, wondering how good my matches were. Especially if it's a great match, and I'm yelling stuff for 10 minutes.

  • Practice your basics while you can against lower Ranks. Learn how Survivors travel, learn to hunt them down, and learn how to react to situations in the match (when to ditch a looper, when to slug and go after the nearby Survivor, how to mindgame pallets/loops, etc). You'll have higher ranks in your matches of course, but that will only help to improve your base game faster because you are facing more skilled opponents.

Those types of skills will help with EVERY Killer, not just Freddy. Once you have them down, you'll be in a much better spot to really dig into a Killer's power and learn how to use it to better your game with that specific Killer. Do not get reliant on Perks or specific loadouts too soon. Always be prepared to try something new to see if it will benefit you. People can talk about how this or that setup is "perfect" for a Killer, but you may find something that suits you better so only ever use those as a guide.

Focus on getting those BP and leveling for more Perks. Don't sweat the kills too much, those come over time. Get good at finding, chasing, and then downing, you'll be raking in plenty of BP because these three activities are where the bulk of your BP are going to come. Always have a BP Offering up unless you have a Daily to get done, and if you aren't using Shards to buy Killers/Survivors, use them for the Shrine to get BP from teachables you've already learned. The grind is pretty ugly when you first start out, but investing a bit of time and patience will pay off well.

Stay chill. When those sweaty Survivors want to call you out for being ez or a baby Killer, just remember that eventually you'll be the one 4k'ing them. It's a game, and people take them way too seriously sometimes, so have fun with it.

  • I enjoy playing on them. They offer up enough variety that I don't mind seeing Badham come up multiple times in my rotation when I'm playing for long stretches of time. They did a pretty decent job updating the map, and giving it enough variety in its different iterations that it never really feels stale. Some things I like about certain ones of them, some I dislike. Overall they feel like they're in a decent place.

  • Just an old meme. Whenever Killers would have a legitimate complaint/concern. Just have to break the pallet. Back when loops were newer and people had issues with them at times.

that was a very nice Billy!

I must admit I don't like the spawning that close to the killer right at the start of the match - where you're in line of sight of each other.

It only happened to me twice, and I'm pretty sure they finally managed to get it gone from the game. Or at least I haven't heard of it happening in a while.

2nd time was a Hag, and she had a light snack 10 seconds into the match because I came out of the pan around freeze just as she was hitting me for the first time. Panicked, ran into a wall, dropped a pallet wrong, and I was done.

There were a bunch of stories on the various Forums when it was going on. Some really amusing things.

  • Not considering SWF, since with comms (or any communication app) that breaks most things in the game, it should block:

Kindred, Empathy, Bond, Aftercare, Alert, Windows of Opportunity, and anything similar. Not that many people use stuff like Alert or WoO, but anything with an aura read.

It won't block Spine Chill or Small Game, obviously.

Hmmm... I wonder how useful it would be to pair it with Rancor, the Obsession doesn't get the aura read, so Rancor comes out of the blue at end game and they have no time to prepare for it? IF the Totem lasts. That's where it always gets me.

Perk sounds really great, then you see it's a damn totem. Ah well. Will see how it works out. I'm not one to give up on something until I've tested it in at least a couple dozen matches. See how it fares against multiple different compositions of teams.

  • Kindred and/or Aftercare. I'll run either or, sometimes both, because they help me enormously as a solo player. Knowing where everyone is at, and potentially who needs help, is crucial for me to assist everyone better so we have a chance at escaping.

Aftercare also helps with gens, cause most of the time whoever can see me will come over and we can bust out gens together. One reason I like that Nancy Perk, although I don't use it currently.

  • Spawned into a match looking straight at a Billy. He revved his saw twice, gave me a couple nods, turned around and zoomed off towards the opposite end of the map. I think he got a saw at the end of that long run too, since a couple seconds after he left me, someone went down immediately.

Third seal and knockout are a nightmare for solo Q players, but ignored by SWF on comms. If you want to grief solo Q players go ahead and use them though.

I hate Knockout as a Survivor, so I'll probably never use it. I used it once against a team with 2 deranked bullies that I had encountered before. Some of those ones that derank to purposefully bully low rank Killers. They did not appreciate Knockout + Franklin's + Lightborn w/ a Purple Mori. I let the other two newer players farm and go afterwards. Right now I'm just looking for Perks to swap in/out and get some use out of instead of the meta ones.

There's a lot of combos that work well on this or that Killer, so while I'm max'ing, I can try different loadouts and see if I find something I enjoy playing with. Third Seal was the next one on my list to try out. Gonna mess around with Surge, and a few others to see if they work with how I play or not.

Half the fun is in the experimentation.

They're way more common on ps4 than pc

I liked third seal on legion before they changed his basic attack thing. Apart from that it's a hex perk, if ends up surviving a while I usually wish I'd brought devour hope instead.

That's part of what I'm looking at right now. Figuring out how many stacks I'd have on DH before it goes down. So far... not looking good. I'd have gotten much more use out of DH at this point, even if it's just 1 or possibly 2 OHKOs. Ah well. Will see in another few days how it works out.

Third seal and knock out do nothing to swf using comms

Not worried about this. SWF isn't as common as everyone thinks. It's just you remember those matches more often because they are usually painful. From my own experience Survivor side, you tend to run into 2-man groups more than 4-man coordinated jackal packs.

  • It's the same with every slowdown Perk other than PGTW. It's good at low -> middle Ranks because you have more time to get the stacks on it. At Red Ranks it loses it's effectiveness because you can't get enough stacks to make a difference quick enough on those last couple gens.

The perk block all aura reading but it won't block pig boxes and the survivors will still know the place when you hook someone because of the black cloud (the black cloud is not an aura) and camaraderie is not an aura perk so the third seal won't affect it

Might be a different one for Steve then. The one where you see the Killer's aura and he sees yours after you unhook? Babysitter?
