  • With the latest patch, whatever they did to optimize or tweak the dedicated servers has worked wonders. I only had 4 spots in matches last night where I got "dedicated". Twice as a Killer and twice as a Survivor. This is going from 3-4 per match prior to the latest patch. It felt GOOD to play as Killer and not lose Survivors because of rubberbanding and ghosts for a change.

That's why I think some of the bugs people are seeing, especially with the grabs, are not a dedicated issue. Considering how many problems are going on with the various Killers, it would not surprise me if this was the issue and dedicated servers simply magnify it. They will take longer to fix of course, it's not as easy as tweaking a bit of code to get better performance, but whether it's the animations or something else, it's not as easy as a single instance of something failing to work properly (Madness 3 + DS).

I think most people only complain because they really love the game and don't want it to fail. You see this at workplaces a lot, where the one or two people who ######### constantly only do it because they really love their job and want everything to be perfect. Now of course, some are just toxic buttholes, but I'd say that most of the people who are complaining just want the game to be the perfect experience they desire.

I appreciate all the work that does get put into the game, but it is really painful to have to shelve one of my favorite Killers for a while because of a bug that hurts her game play so much, especially not knowing if/when it's going to get fixed. Now I have to P3 the Spirit and listen to all the complaints about "noob killer playing easy mode" instead of max'ing Mama. 😥

It's one thing to say there are perks that are counterable, that is true, it's completely different to relate exploiting game design to 'adapt and counter'.

And before you get started, that's why they're looking into hook teching. You shouldn't be able to do that. It's an exploit, yet you don't see me saying 'adapt and bring a perk to counter THAT' because I acknowledge you shouldn't be able to do it in the first place.

Not to mention, I'm sure borrowed time is really the only viable perk to use against that and it won't work with certain killers if you're affected by the undetectable status effect now so even that perk becomes null and void.

As if a swivel hook prevents a grab, a trade or even a one hit killer (addons or otherwise) from downing you for trying to get the save (and the person you saved in some cases).

I really don't think it's unreasonable to ask to be able to actually play the game. God forbid you want to use a variety of perks to have fun and switch it up, you'll be criticized for not running the meta like it's not a choice.

With this logic can you imagine the next time there's a game breaking bug? The devs are just going to tell us to 'adapt' and bring a perk to counter it. 😂

I actually find hook tech to be funny. I usually get the first hit in, then they realize they aren't invulnerable and try for the save. 50/50 I get the 2nd hit in and that's 2 on the hook now. It's a bit annoying, but counterable with an in-game mechanic. You just swing at the right angle.

BT isn't the only counter though. If 2 people go in for a save, and one baits the Killer, most of the time they will leave the hook. I do say most, because some refuse to leave. Those ones are the ones you have to gen rush, and if they're doing it from the first down with 0 gens popped, you already know they are toxic.

I solo queue and manage to get unhooks on Campers pretty often. It's actually a bit fun to be quite honest, because you get a little adrenaline rush when it's successful. Sometimes it just goes all bad and I end up on the hook, but that's part of the game. It's why you have 2 1-minute timers before you die.

Look at the Hag right now for game breaking bugs, btw. Her teleport is all sorts of screwed up and actually hinders her in many situations. I'll not even talk about how sounds are all over the place either, sometimes good but mostly really bad right now. There's actually quite a few bugs that can legitimately break the game to make it almost unplayable from a Killer perspective. Some of them are really random, but they do happen.

Camping isn't a bug. It's a tactic as has been stated multiple times. Much like flashlighting a Killer at a pallet while they break it, it's annoying AF and frustrating, but it is in the game for a reason. It "can" apply pressure to the remaining Survivors, and while there are many reasons to not do so, some people prefer to secure their kills instead of going out for another chase. Everyone has a different style of play, there is no "correct" way. Just have to adapt to it and move along to the next match when it's over.

  • @joker7997 said:

Anyone else bothered by this? It's not just the same person doing the voice over, it's the same sound files that have had their pitches altered. Haven't heard anyone mention it, but its undeniable

I noticed this a couple times last week with Yui in a match. Her moans/yelps when injured occasionally sounded exactly like Nancy. During one chase it confused me multiple times because I'd swear I heard Nancy yelping, but I was chasing Yui at the time and I thought there were 2 Survivors nearby.

  • I started playing almost all Killer, because of the queue times. I'm prestiging a bunch of my Killers though, so the quick matches = more BP. Even when I get rekt, I get a bunch of BP so it's a reasonable situation. Survivor queues aren't too bad at the times I play, but 3-5 seconds for a match playing Killer is too tasty to pass up.

I stopped playing for real though. Most of the time I'll just play chill and let the gens get rushed to oblivion. I get enough points to keep me happy, but if I managed to get things snowballing, I'll go a bit harder to get more kills. If it's one of those 2-3 gens popped as I get my first down, I sometimes just wander into a corner and tab out for a while. Much more relaxing that way.

I wanted to work on the Adept Achievements I am missing, but ffs... the gens get done way too fast for me to gimp myself with trash Perks. Survivor is easy AF since you just need to escape. Trying to get Merciless Killer with Lullaby, Territorial, and Beast of Prey would be a nightmare. Have a few Survivor ones I need though, so I might work on those for a bit when I need a break from Killer matches.

  • Played against a Pig. She "found" each of the Survivors and we formed a conga line sneaking around the map to each generator. She would sometimes sit there and "help" us with it too. Had a good laugh in the post-game. Just one of those matches...

  • If you stop running, Spirit is reasonably easy to counter. But that is the big problem, Survivors run everywhere. It's like their finger is glued to the Shift button when it's not hitting the Spacebar for a skillcheck. People say it's to be more efficient, but how can it be more efficient when you are getting downed and hooked all the time? Relax, learn to walk (not sneak), and you'll find your survival rate against the Spirit going up.

  • Be better to simply hide all Offerings except ones that affect the other players, like BPS or Envelopes. It's a personal request to the Entity and should be treated with the respect and care it is due.

  • Endgame builds are too high risk for my tastes. If I can tell a Killer has no early/mid game Perks, I'm breaking totems and making sure there at least won't be any NOED. Without that, most endgame builds are going to fail because you can't down fast enough.

That being said, I absolutely love it when Blood Warden pops and there's that one toxic moron who gets downed and hooked because they wanted to teabag the Killer at the exit gate. I'll usually try to get over to the hook and point and teabag them myself. Funny AF to see karma come around and bite them in the ass.

  • They've added multiple Perks to promote non-Camping play styles along with the emblem malus. Sometimes it's the proper choice to make though. Especially if you are playing against over-Altruistic Survivors who are sweaty for those Unhook points.

The same as Slugging, Camping is a legitimate tactic to use. I'd suggest Patrolling is better and more rewarding, but Camping is just fine if that's the style of play you like.

How many Survivor Perks are available to counter it? Multiple. Not to mention they added swivel hooks so Facecamping is no longer a thing.

Learn to counter it. There are ways to do this. Isn't that the chorus everyone sings when a Killer complains about something? You just need to adjust and pressure the gens.

  • They were saying that grabs were an issue with dedicated servers, but since the latest patch I went from having many dedicated issues to having almost 0 now. I still can't get grabs. Probably something in the animations, which seem to be an issue for multiple Killers.

Very sad that Hag is broke AF right now. Her teleportation is screwed so badly it took me 3 matches just to get 4 teleport hits. Her stun animation is jacked as well. Everytime I take a pallet hit, it leaves me looking at the ground instead of returning to face forward like every other Killer. Mama needs some love. 😕

  • The devs as much said that Killers should camp from the statements they've made. Killers have to adjust, and one of the easiest ways is to either camp or slug. Survivors are now the ones that need to adjust and stop feeding the Campers. Go do gens, eventually the Killer will either move away and you can get the save, or you'll finish the gens and escape. This is the only counterplay to Camping.

Until that happens though, feel free to complain all you want about Campers. It changes nothing.

I agree with most of that list, but Pumpkinhead would be great in the game I think. He's creepy AF, and has that horror slasher feel to him/it/whatever. Fantastic cult horror movie too. If they are going to license something else, that would be a great place to start imo. The only issue I could see would be the lore and canon from the movie. Might not fit too well in DbD.

Yeah, and when it activates, you need to remove it. Then it slows down the game

For 10-60 seconds (RNG dependent), a single Survivor is not doing gens. Sometimes less, sometimes they die. This is not slowing down the game in a significant way.

You are going to lose 1-3 gens during your first chase. Hopefully, hopefully you can get the down + beartrap before they pop. Most of the time, this is not the case for your average Killer. So you now have anywhere from 2-4 gens worth of time you can utilize for the remaining traps you have left. Do you really think that small bit of time it takes to get a beartrap off affects the game in a meaningful way?

Amanda can camp the boxes. Now she's not pressuring gens so the game is lost.

She can patrol like a normal Killer, maybe using her Stealth to an advantage. She has nothing to utilize during a chase other than the basic Killer tactics. Her lunge... it's a slight buff if you can use it properly, but I've yet to face a Pig that can even though I've seen a few videos of people using it to their advantage. She's still weak against everything all the other Killers are weak against.

I've played against quite a few Pigs who didn't even get to use all their traps before the gens were powered. Some were potato, some were new to the Pig and were hurting from their previous Killer's rankups, but quite a few were pretty solid all around. Even some were great in chases and mindgames. The fact that half her power is gone as soon as the gens are powered significantly hurts her when the early/mid games go so quickly.

Her beartraps should activate even when all gens are powered. The timer for EGC should go to the slower timer that is standard when a Survivor is downed/hooked. Just having this alone will give her a little extra power in the endgame to make up for her lack of mobility and M1 Killerness in the early/mid games.

The devs have already stated that they expect early gens to be done quick, and Killers need to adjust to this. That's fine, but when a Killer's power is centered around slowing down gens and keeping as many unpowered as possible so they can maximize their ability, that's when it becomes an issue.

I understand what you are saying. What I'm saying is it didn't take FFE for him to get there. I should have recorded the trial. I was in shock at how quickly this all happened. Not sure if its a bug that it happened as quickly as it did, but I just can't participate in gameplay like that. Actually its no that I can't, I won't.

I have Myers at P3 right now, and love playing as him, but if it went that fast, someone REALLY screwed up. Maybe the other players didn't know to break LoS with him, or something similar. You can only tier up fast if the Survivors let you do it. I mean stuff like:

Standing at a pallet looking at you while you stalk them (have this happen with new players a LOT) instead of breaking the pallet.

When you come in stealthy, they see you and you just stand there stalking them because they think you are friendly (multiple multiple times... please stop doing this Survivors....)

Instead of staying around cover, they run to massively open places where Michael can stalk for days.

Leaving the Cornfield. FFS the corn. I HATE Coldwind Maps with Myers. Being almost completely unable to stalk across half the map is complete bullshit (rant rant rant).

Sticking around to complete that extra 3-4% on a generator when Myers has you in plain sight. This is usually the case, and generally results in me popping T3 right as they pull off the gen for a quick down. Overconfident Survivors suffer frequently against Myers.

I know the gameplay sucks, but that's why they are Ultra-rare add-ons. 14k BP for a single match of potentially overpowered activity isn't a great investment imo. Sometimes all you can do is avoid, avoid, avoid and pray you get the hatch. But truthfully, when it goes down the way it happened to you (and I've had it happen in that fashion multiple times), move on to the next match and forget about it because one or two of the Survivors blew the match for you.

  • There's an achievement for Myers to kill all 4 Survivors with T3 Evil Within. Yes this is 100% the gameplay that is desired.

Honestly though, even if you didn't mess up someone else did. It takes FFE to get to T3 with those add-ons, and if people aren't breaking LoS then it's their fault he even got there. Have had numerous matches against those specific add-ons where he never got to T3 because of the time it takes, and the ability of Survivors to deny stalking.

When it does happen, it really is pretty much Game Over, but you can prevent it reasonably easily if you are playing against him properly. Thankfully they are Ultra Rares so you don't face them very often. It's equivalent to all 4 Survivors running Commodious Toolboxes with speed add-ons or BNPs. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does it can be overpowering.

You can buy any non licenced dlc characters with iridecent shards, and level them up until you get their teachables.

How long does it take though? This is the biggest gate for any new player. The sheer number of shards they will have to grind just to get specific Perks.

Just looking at the Killer side of things you have Clown (PGTW), Plague (CI), Hag (Ruin) for slowdowns for Shards. Potentially Legion with Discordance, but I am not a fan of this Perk. The rest are cash only licensed. Nurse is the only free Killer with a slowdown Perk, and quite frankly Thanatophobia is a placebo at best unless paired with others.

As far as other Killer Perks, you have Hillbilly (Enduring, Lightborn), Trapper (BS), Wraith (Shadowborn, Bloodhound), Nurse (NC, Stridor if they ever fix sounds). Base Perks - Bitter Murmur (maybe... this perk seems a waste to me), Deerstalker for slug builds, NOED (way too RNG and potato Survivor dependent), Sloppy Butcher, and Whispers. Building an effective Killer build out of the freebies severely limits your choices in a match.

Survivor side. Just the free Survivors you have - Dwight (Prove Thyself), Meg (Sprint Burst, QnQ, Adrenaline), Nea (Balanced Landing, Urban Immersion), Claudette (Self-Care, Botany, Empathy), Bill (Borrowed Time, Unbreakable), Jake (Iron Will, Calm Spirit). Not to mention the base Perks like Kindred and We'll Make It. You can build an effective Rank 1 Perk set just out of the freebies, and not just one setup. You can craft numerous builds out of the free Perks you get for Survivors.

It just seems to me that anyone coming in on the Killer side of things, because maybe they like Freddy or the Saw franchise or something, is going to have a severely frustrating time right from the start. Whereas a Survivor is going to come into the game, and once they've scraped away a bit of the newb potatoeness, they are going to have an easy time with things without having to spend anything. Just save up those shards to grab someone who's aesthetic you like, without needing to use them just to have a chance in a match.

  • Kills for pips is bad. It promotes Camping and Tunneling, both of which are "toxic" to Survivors. The Killer Cube when we had it was pretty bad for this. You had a lot of Campers who got boosted because Survivors were hungry for the saves and would lemming rush hoping their Perks would save them in the end. It was not very fun. Most matches I played in back then were either 1k or 4k, very very little in between.

Pips for Bloodpoints sucked. REALLY sucked. I say that as a Killer who started when this was a thing. Earning 20k+ BP every match was awesome, but getting boosted to Rank 1 every month when I was playing like a green rank Killer really sucked. You could run on auto-pilot, get a bunch of BP, rank up, and that was okay with 0 kills. Never, ever again please.

Emblems can work, but they need tweaked in the points you get from them. It is insanely easy to get emblems as a Survivor, but Killers need to work to earn theirs. Which seems a bit backwards imo as there are 4 Survivors trying to get their goals, and only 1 Killer.

Killer side of things seems okay, maybe a bit harsh, although the change to Gatekeeper really helped. Survivor side needs toned down though. I never even consider escaping as my goal anymore. I just help my team, get downed quick in chases because I suck at looping, and generally have a bit of fun. Almost guaranteed pip. If I depip it's because the Killer camped me from first hook or my team mates think that unhooking in the Killer's face is acceptable when they don't have Borrowed Time.

No one complained about Devour? I've had games where survivors told me I was "carried by Devour Hope" in the post-game chat.

Never tbh. Usually the only complaint is "Where the ######### was that totem????" then we get a good laugh out of it. I do get the occasional "You should've waited til I got there. I wanted to see that." when I Mori the first person, but nothing else.

Honestly though, anyone complaining about a Hex Perk should be kicked back to Rank 20. They are too easy to get rid of unless the Killer is defending it, and if they are well... gens anyone?

  • Devour Hope - if it gets 5 stacks, the Survivors know they screwed up. 3-4 stacks is the norm though, so I get 1 or 2 OHKOs. Pretty balanced Perk.

Make Your Choice - It's the perfect anti-Camping Perk, and have never had a Survivor complain about me using it. I think this type of Perk should be a model for newer ones. Promoting avoiding a style of play that people find "toxic", but it gives a solid reward for doing so.

We'll Make It - Only ever had a handful of Killers complain to me about this post-game. The fast heals on an unhook are great, but also being able to heal others because the timer is generous can really turn a game around.

Had a match where all 4 of us were injured. I got an unhook in front of another person, hook healed both of them, then ran from the Billy coming back to the hook. Found the third person, healed them and got healed after that. Ended up with 4 escapes because we only had 1 gen to finish after that even though most of us were on the death hook. Having that safety net of a hit really helps towards the end game.

  • RBTs don't slow down the game. Unless mine is ticking away, I go work on gens for a while. There's no real pressure from them until it actually starts ticking, and even then it is map dependent. Small maps, or easily navigable ones, I'll work through a whole gen if it hasn't started yet.

They feel like a gimmick and have no real power to alter a match unless the Survivors are legitimate potatoes. Not to mention they are completely negated when the final generator is popped. There is no other Killer that loses half their base Power when the generators are finished. Imagine making the Hillbilly unable to sprint with his chainsaw when the 5th gen is done. He can rev it, and OHKO, but no sprinting.

I enjoy playing as Amanada, but she has lost a lot of power with changes made to the game and needs to be buffed.

Oooookkkkk....ruin before nerf had the same issue...soo what would that argument be here? When I changed over to PC a few months back I had to unlock ruin but before I could do that I had to buy the damn thing from hag expansion...so yeah...unless you wait for it to be in shrine of secrets, you're SoL...and i'm a killer main myself, I'm just telling you the idea of what to do as a fix, as this fix worked for me...for now at least till they find a way to butcher it. I'm not saying the gen speed "is acceptable" and it's annoying as hell when everyone automatically jumps to that conclusion when you arent spitting out piss and vinegar that something needs a change. I would say run pop, but pop is locked behind a damn paywall to. So what are you suggesting here because half the crap in this game is locked behind a paywall....

I'm suggesting that the issues really at fault are in the base game and keep getting passed over in favor of "fixing" the band-aids that have covered them up. Being forced to use a Perk, or multiple Perks, to balance gameplay is unacceptable.

Multiple objectives for Survivors, mandatory ones, has been suggested ever since I started playing back when the Hag was still fresh and BNPs were one-click gen poppers. Instead of this though, we get PGTW, TT, etc etc. All Perks that cover up the fact that between Matchmaking, Map size, and Map balance, the base game itself needs work, not the Perks. These things should have been addressed since then, instead they get adjusted and then shadow reverted.

For new players, and the game does need these occasionally, they will probably drift to the Survivor side of things because you can run Perkless and have a good chance of surviving. As a Killer though, unless you are veteran, running Perkless you are going to be in for a world of frustration and pain. It wasn't too bad before, when you could pickup Enduring, BS, NC and a few other free Perks and do pretty good with them, up to the purples/reds without getting sweaty. Now though, you need multiple DLCs on top of that just to have a reasonable game in lower Ranks.

  • It's not just the footsteps though. All sounds are muted in various ways. Played a match on Haddonfield earlier, and I thought the generator in the basement area of the one house was untouched, when in actuality it was halfway done. The sounds coming out of there, and similar effects on Springwood and other places where you have a stairway by the gen, are horribly muted.

Most Survivors now sound like they have at least Iron Will T1 on, and footsteps are almost nonexistent. It's been this way for a while though, so I have 0 hope of them ever fixing the sounds. All you hear is "Soon" and then another patch comes through breaking even more of them. I have yet to throw on Stridor to see if that helps, but it may be the only solution as I do utilize sound more than sight to track Survivors.

  • @Rosutoutsuro said:

See, people talk about long queues, but I don't have long queues on survivor. It takes FOREVER for me to queue as killer, and I don't understand why, really. I've seen people on here talking about how not having enough killers is the problem with queue times, but wouldn't that make it WAY faster to queue as killer? Maybe I just don't get it, I'm not that much of a tech nerd, but the numbers just don't add up in my head.

Depends on the platform + time you are playing. I get instant or extremely short queue times as a Killer in the evenings/night, but Survivor is painfully slow. PC, NA Eastern US (if that matters). Your actual queue times will vary tremendously depending on time of day due to school, work, personal lives, etc etc.

  • @Poochkips said:

Gens dont take that little of time. Run corrupt intervention. It limits what gens are available....

Not every person has that unlocked on the Killer(s) they play. It's also a DLC Perk. Telling someone to run a paywalled Perk is unacceptable as a means to balance the game. The game should never be balanced around Perks.

If it is required to run specific Perks to have a reasonable match, those Perks should be in the basekit of every Killer, not limited to DLC purchases. It used to be this way and the devs have gotten away from reasonably balancing around the base game's content. It's now "Run Ruin + Surveillance", one Perk which is cash only, or run Thrilling Tremors a cash only Perk, or run Corrupt Intervention another DLC Perk, run Dying Light a cash only Perk, or run PGTW another DLC Perk.

Thanatophobia, which is really only a placebo unless you stack it with others, is the only "free" Perk out there if you level the Nurse, a Killer that many people dislike because she has such a high skill level.

  • If they can come up with a matchmaking system that weighs the number and tier of Perks in loadouts, then it would be more fair. I've gone against many of the deranked Survivors with full meta T3 loadouts. This has been happening since the game came out though, and the devs have done nothing to change it.

It used to be worse because you'd have 3 R1s + 1 R20 alt account who would match up with sub Rank 15 Killers. Now at least the SWF issue has been somewhat removed since they match based on the highest Rank instead of an average.

Matchmaking has been a core part of the balance issues with the game though since it's inception. There isn't a large enough playerbase to have legitimate matchmaking without nasty queue times. There's a lot of people playing, but spread over 24 hours it doesn't add up to enough for proper experience/skill level vs the same.

New Killers have it even worse now though. Power creep has made it so that Survivors will always be more powerful than a new Killer. Every generator slow down Perk is now Paywalled behind RL cash except for the Plague's, and not Shards. Everytime I see someone say "Well just use X, Y and Z Perks" I have to laugh, because you should not be required to purchase DLC just to be able to compete at any Rank. Perhaps red Ranks, but not at Rank 15. At least the Hag is purchaseable with Shards.

I really hope they don't go with hours played as any indication of skill, simply because when you start with a new Killer (fresh DLC), you shouldn't be penalized for your hours of playtime on another Killer. Hopefully the new MM system they are working on can alleviate some of the issues though. It seems promising to some extent, but so do many other things.

Naturally anything I haven't seen. But saying that, I had not seen any Saw films (although I was familiar with the franchise) or Stranger Things before they appeared in DBD. Now I have seen all of both franchises and really enjoyed them.

Back on topic: I would not want to see the Joker, any representation of Hannibal or Norman Bates. They just don't feel right.

Norman Bates would be interesting. First time I ever considered him as part of the DbD crew. I also got a chuckle as I thought to myself, it would fit perfectly in the current political insanity of gender issues. He'd look normal as he charged his power, then put on his mother's dress + wig when his power bar filled and he activated it.

Have to agree with the Joker and Hannibal though. Hannibal is way too calm, collected, and intellectual. DbD Killers should be more of the gruesome and slasher style. In my opinion at least.

M slightly confused since this is a dont want licenced thread so im guessing your plainly saying you "want" and not "what i want to not be licensed" what is phantasm btw?

Phantasm is one of the great cult horror films to come out of the 70s and 80s. It's iconic Killer, the Tall Man, is one of my favorites. Still waiting for this to come to DbD because those films were superb slasher/gore type and would fit right in the game. The lore behind it all is pretty interesting as well.

They did 4 movies iirc, then did something of a "finale" not too long ago with Phantasm Ravager, I think that's the name. I haven't seen that one, but was told to avoid it. A bit sad, because the first couple really were good horror.

  • Used to be Doc for me. A year or two ago, matches would load and there'd be 2-3 DCs as soon as the first Survivor screamed. Now with the adjustment, haven't seen a DC yet.

Legion is the worst though from what I've played against. No matter the loadout, almost every game there is a DC as soon as the first Survivor gets hit while in FF. All I hear is "Legion is annoying to play against" in post-game. Can be annoying AF as I usually only play him/her to farm BP or do a daily.

It's something I don't understand tbh. Legion is pretty easy to play against, imo at least, and I have the best escape rate against him/her, personally at least. Even with good add-ons, Legion feels like old Freddy. Powerful (annoying to play against according to other Survivors) if played by a good Killer, but easy enough to escape if I want to when played by a decent Killer.

Otherwise, it's the usual "You found me first and my top tier juking failed completely so I'll DC because that's a win" with any Killer I'm playing. Especially amusing when I'm playing one of my prestiged level 1s for a daily with only 1 Perk. I laugh every time.

  • Adrenaline. Most game-changing Survivor Perk in the game right now. If 3 or 4 Survivors are running it, you cannot put enough pressure on the last gen because they won't heal and keep pushing to finish it. The speed boost is just a final slap in the face when you're chasing someone and it pops. Absolutely needs reworked or taken out.

Rancor. Hate this Perk. You can do gens, help your team, and basically be an all-star during a game, and then out of nowhere you get OHKO'd and Mori'd. Really not a fair Perk imo. Had enough matches where the Killer got 1k, me, only because of this Perk. NOED is outplayable (all Hex perks are), but there is no counterplay to Rancor other than "Hide and pray the Killer can't find you until the exit gates are open and hopefully you picked the right one to use".

  • FNaF - it's a meme game, not a horror game. All the Killers we have now have an excellent horror atmosphere and aesthetic. FNaF is just jumpscares and trash for pre-teens.

Child's Play - Chucky is awesome, I love the movies. His height would be a significant issue without killing his canon. Although a human-sized Chucky might be okay, a bit creepier too.

IT - We have the clown, we don't need another. If they used the Tim Curry Pennywise... maybe.

Slenderman - Just no. I don't want to see the Tall Man ripoff running around DbD. This just needs to die and be relegated to the trash.

Any remake horror film icons - The only horror remake I've seen that was remotely good was The Evil Dead, and they went from the campiness of the original to full-on horror. Everything else has been absolute trash. The Evil Dead though... but that's a whole nother discussion.

  • Chasing a Meg, downed her, had a trap pop halfway across the map and was using distance add-ons. Fumbled the key press to pick her up because I was getting ahead of myself and hit Left-Alt (which is my teleport key) and yeah... that game didn't end well.

  • When the TTV'er loads in next to you, gives you a couple crouches to say "Hi" and runs off. Then gets downed 10 seconds later and DCs.

Anytime I start on a hill or elevated location, because I know the Killer sees me and is coming to eat my soul.

I don't know how you checked and confirmed but I'll take your word for it. They need to fix their ranking system, Everyone who plays the game would get to red ranks now just by actively playing, Barely anyone is left in the lower ranks. Heck look at that third survivor, The hell is that load out. It's like a new player pieced it together because that's what he could find.

Not necessarily a new player. They might have switched Survivors to play them while they level for teachables. I do this to give me a challenge. Let RNGesus decide what Perks I'm going to run with, and make the best build I can from there. Some REALLY amusing combinations come up. Almost as funny as when you start a fresh Killer and the first 4 Webs are Coulrophobia, Beast of Prey, Spies, and Monstrous Shrine. Not much of a build there...

  • I got it from a Killer who wanted to farm because we all popped Streamers, after having a discussion about it pre-game. I got my hooks/unhooks, some heals, then headed out to do the 2 gens that were left. The other Survivors meanwhile pissed off the Killer by flashlight'ing him and he killed them all (Bubba did not appreciate the flashlights). They all died as I finished up the last gen. He let me go because I wasn't being a "toxic assbag" as he put it.

  • Ivory helps you get a game back under control. Ebony is pretty OP. I can see a lot of instances, especially right now, where a Killer would want to get rid of 1 Survivor to put more pressure on the other 3. It's a quick method that doesn't really throw the game off by being overpowered. Ebonies are just for the memes and salt though.

For Demogorgon, STBFL, Mad Grit, Unrelenting, and any addons that reduce Shred's cooldown. Scream as much, as fast, and as loud as you possible can.

This sounds like fun. Any rules, or just make the heavens shake with your roar?

But she didn't get anything this year lol. I don't count the Demon Slayer.

    sigh

Thanks. Another dream ruined by an uncaring playerbase.

Actually it also depends on the time to you play the game.. In the morning where there are fewer players, it takes longer but at night it lessens the queue time.. Even though i agree with you with the sound bug.. I even don't know if its even a bug since it has always been that way where you hear footsteps on the right side of your headset but they're actually on the left.. And have the devs address these issues? No.. Not one bit.. All they care is nerfing Slow gen Perks on the next update.

From my own experience, I had no issues pre-patch with hearing footsteps. I used to use them heavily for tracking during a chase because I was having severe desync/lag issues with dedicated servers. I could hear the breathing, steps and other sounds to keep me in the chase and get hits.

Right now though, it's horrible. Thankfully changing my download region on Steam alleviated some of the dedicated issues, but I still get nasty lag, especially during chases, at times. They break sounds with every patch, then it takes forever to fix them. I should know to wait a couple weeks post-patch before trying to play, it's like watching the Marx Brothers or Keystone Kops at times. Slapstick patching at its finest.

  • Matchmaking and sound bugs make it bad for Killers. Low ranks getting matched up with reds and purples constantly makes for a very unfun experience. You can't learn if you get bullied and rushed.

The sound bugs are awful though. You can't hear footsteps at all and a lot of the usual moans, grunts, and breathing are horribly muted unless you are standing in an area completely open on all sides. Not to mention the "Everyone has Iron Will even if they didn't bring it" Bug, which has happened to me on a few occasions.

Add those two together, and you'll get a lot of the reason why Survivor queues might be longer. More Survivors will switch over to Killer though, so it's only a short lived issue right now. Killer times for me are 1-5 seconds was up to Rank 11 before I deranked myself, Survivor not sure cause I ditched back to Killer after 5 minutes of waiting at Rank 5. NA Eastern US region if that matters.

  • Franklin's Demise. First Survivor with an item you find, you must knock it from their hands and camp that item. No one is allowed to touch it. If they come near, you must attack them to keep them away. If another Survivor drops an item near your first, you have to camp them both.

If anyone takes an item you've claimed out of the match, you've lost. If you manage to keep all items you've taken, you have won.

  • Tell them to run Small Game and they won't be affected by it. Perk for Perk right?

I've started playing Graveyard Keeper - it's a lot of fun.

Good game. Gets a bit grindy, but pretty fun overall.

  • Johnny Depp getting turned into a blood fountain in the original Nightmare on Elm Street. Classic scene, and still one of my favorite movies in the slasher genre. Robert Englund had some great one liners.

The ending of Saw. Still one of the greatest endings in a horror movie to date. It literally comes out of nowhere and just leaves you sitting there going "######### just happened?" Especially since most horror movies during that time period were extremely predictable, good and enjoyable, but predictable.

  • I like to burn a Shroud when I smell an SWF sometimes. It's almost always a DC before the match starts.

Just bring Devour Hope. It's your Mori in a bottle, and some of the totem spawns I've been getting are really good. Out of 4 matches tonight, managed to get moris in 2 of them, with one the totem destroyed early, and the other totem destroyed at 4 tokens. Much prefer this to an actual Mori because the DCs are nuts if you have a hidden Offering as a Killer.

I hook Meg. I go off and chase other survivors. Meg gets unhooked. I hook Dwight. A healthy Meg comes over and goes for the save; I grab her and get DS'd. Then, she got the save while I was stunned. My other option at that moment was to hit the healthy Meg, after which she also would've gotten the save.

I absolutely wasn't tunneling. I went off, let her get unhooked for free, and she used her 60 seconds of immunity to make a save in my face right after I hooked another survivor. DS shouldn't be able to be used like that.

This is the only problem I have with DS right now. It could get another 30 seconds of duration, fine, but if the Survivor engages in any other action besides movement or healing, it should end. Multiple matches I had where Survivors who had just gotten unhooked immediately began repairing a gen, sometimes as I was walking back to the hook due to the insta-save, and kept right on the generator without a care because they know DS will just save them.

Give it some more duration (30 seconds maybe), but if you do anything except movement or heal, yourself or others, it should shut off. Let it be useable again if you take another hook. That would be fine as well. But 60 seconds of what amounts to invulnerability is insane.

Dead by Daylight is what you make of it in the long run, if you want to take the game seriously then you will find yourself getting frustrated over the smallest of things.

I stopped taking the game seriously a year ago, so things, currently, don't bother me as much as before. The game became more enjoyable for me and I didn't have to inconvenience other players by sending them back into queue times (we all know queue times can be insane).

All in all, it's your choice if you wanna dodge, but I don't think it's fair to tell survivors they can't use what's in the game or else you will extend their queue time. There's a double standard going on where killer make rules for survivors, some being simply ridiculous, I feel like it's only fair that killers get punished for excessively dodging because of that.

Also, you won't get punished if someone has bad PING. If you don't like facing survivors who use what's in the game, you can just bring Franklin's.

I can guarantee you that keys will get their rework eventually, as hinted by a developer in a previous comment in a different thread. 😁

Franklin's is paywalled. Telling a Killer that they are required to buy more DLC to enjoy the game is not healthy for said game. You can't even get it with Shards, which is generally the next statement with regards to DLC, unless you get lucky in the Shrine. Leatherface is cheap, and it has great Perks, but a new Killer should not have to purchase said DLC, level up the Killer, then hope they get it on the Bloodweb just to compete against coordinated teams with 2-4 toolboxes, keys, and other assorted goodies.

  • Monitor and Abuse. I P1'd the Doctor for Overcharge, and because I enjoy his laugh. Did not realize how much M&A would help Myers and Hag, both whom I love to play. Works well on other Killers as well. It just doesn't give me much love in the Bloodweb sadly.

It's not about balance, it's more of the inconvenience of waiting in queues again.

Sometimes I will find a toolbox from the last match and forget to unequip it from my item slot. I hardly ever pay attention when I'm waiting in queue as both roles. Other times, I don't see a SWF with all toolboxes in the lobby because I don't pay attention, and honestly, I don't get destroyed.

Sure, I'll depip because the game doesn't like it when you play dirty, but I still manage a 2K. :)

Also, here's another comment I made elaborating about dodging:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1029600#Comment_1029600

Your convenience. Not mine. I'd rather dodge than end up getting bullied up and down a map because I am not good enough to play against the reds and purples I keep getting matched against. It's either that or get completely frustrated and hit the Quit button.

If you want to point a finger, take a good healthy look at Matchmaking right now because that's probably a large cause of it. I feel really sorry for any new players looking to get into the game because it has their favorite licensed Killer, and ending up with the matches I'm facing. It's either a 3/4k where I feel a bit bad at the end, or I get completely run over. There's absolutely no middle ground post-patch for fun matches where it can go either way.

  • I never dodged in the past unless it was an SWF team I had encountered before, but now....

The past 6 nights I've played, the first two matches each night were Red Rank SWF teams, and I do mean teams not just your casual SWF friend group. So I now dodge the first two teams I come across.

After last night's experience, I dodge:

    2 Toolboxes (sometimes 1 if it's a toolbox, medkit, flashlight, key/map/firecrackers)

Sweaty Meg/Nea/Claudette/Feng with neon clothes and a flashlight

3 Medkits and a Map (yeah, ######### that SWF death squad from last night)

Any match that "looks" like an SWF because of themed names, multiple TTVs, a New Age Blendette (in earth tone clothing instead of the P3 blood) with her pack of guardians, anyone I recognize.

Why do I do this? Because Killer queues are almost instant for me and I am seriously tired of playing against Purples/Reds as I'm trying to learn a couple Killers. These games are not fun and end up with me getting frustrated and wanting to scream by the end of the match. My 2-3 T1 RNGesus Perks do not match up against 4 meta T3 loadouts.
