  • Billy and Hag both seem pretty well balanced. I think Hag is suffering more from getting "dedicated" right now, but before that trash started they were both in a good spot. Think the only thing missing from Billy is a UR add-on? He has some nice ones though, so I really don't think he needs any attention at the moment.

Why not give the Pig some love? She's the one most affected by nerfs lately, and in the past. EGC really screwed her up.

  • Talk to them in post-game chat instead of calling them out for mistakes and trashing them, something I see happen quite often. A red rank Survivor going toxic ######### on a brown rank Survivor is pretty trash. Everyone was new once, remember how that went for you and maybe you can help them become a good Survivor instead of a boosted potato.

  • Make sure that they didn't DC without the notification. Had a match earlier against a Myers where there were only 3 of us in the actual match. The 4th person got 21 points, and never showed up at all. I'm assuming they DC'd in some fashion, but no one got the indication and it never showed up in the post-match score screen.

Not sure how common this might be, but it's a possibility.

On the other hand, I think the Entity should block lockers, give it a 2 minutes cooldown, for anyone who's been in them for more than 30 seconds. I hate when people do things like this because it ruins the match for everyone.

  • Meg in the Deathgarden mask. I know it's going to be a jedi warrior waving their lightsaber at me every chance they get. Most of the time if I down them, they will DC, robbing me of those precious Bloodpoints. In the event they don't DC, they probably have a friend hanging around them waiting to either blind me or bodyblock me. At this point, if that fails, they'll DC on me too. On the rare occasion I manage to get them hooked and killed, it's ggez in chat and/or other memorable phrases.

How Hag is A tier, if she is slow killer (no map pressure)? She waste time setting traps (even less map pressure). She cant follow any survivor, because, if survivor run where she has no traps, she is slow Huntress without hatchets. Whoever put Hag at the top doesnt play her. She is as strong as Huntess or below her, because Huntress can always use her power and tunnel someone to death, but Hag is limited to where her traps are. Hag can once fake setting her trap and hope to catch survivor between loops, but, again, if survivor has adrenaline, its all meaningless.

Hag doesn't get map pressure from movement speed but from teleporting to her traps. This is the common misconception with her. She's nightmare fuel when played well. A lot of people also think all she can do is camp. Another incorrect assumption. Camping Hags do poorly.

  • New Killers call it "securing the kill" not realizing how badly it affects BP and emblem gain. Camping is a legit strategy at times, but you are better off patrolling. As has been shown in many wars, speed and mobility is a winner. Sitting on your ass around a campfire will not win you much of anything but salt.

Even if they are a toxic PoS, it's better not to camp because then you are just giving them what they want. Attention that mommy and daddy didn't give to them. Just hook em and move on along to the next victim. Just be sure to check around the vicinity for any lemmings that might be rushing in for the save.

  • I don't find new Freddy all that strong because it's so easy to wake up. With those certain add-ons, he does become a Nightmare at times, but otherwise he's not as strong as people think. Being awake nullifies most of his power.

It's somewhat the same with Ghostface. You can nullify him pretty easily as well, and then he becomes just another M1 Killer. He can have nasty hook pressure, but that's true for almost any Killer really.

I'd actually say that he is one of the least map dependent killers. Sure, you're gonna struggle if you're trying to run Coxcomb and The Ghost to try to get gen grabs and you get Red Forest, but I love Wraith because I very rarely have to worry about what map I get. Large, open map? Your mobility is even more useful now. Small, indoor map? Your stealth is even better.

It's not his mobility that is the problem, it's the setup time. He can get in and stealth on people if they aren't paying attention, or if they are in an enclosed place like a walled in gen on MacMillian or Lery's, but once he gets there it takes time to uncloak. That time gives someone who's paying attention plenty of space to get away from that initial hit. Especially if they've got an escape route planned out.

I'd much rather face him on the larger open maps because it's a lot easier to see him coming and you can easier judge how much longer you should stay on a generator before cutting out. He's a bit tougher on the indoor or smaller maps, because there are a lot more blockers to be used, but there are still plenty of indicators as to when he's getting close. The stomping feet + loud breathing are really bad if you are paying attention to them.

  • You can hear his footsteps and breathing, giving you more than enough time to react when he gets near you. It is really loud. Any Survivor who is paying attention will avoid that first hit, with enough time to get to the first loop.

His shimmer is visible really far away. You can use LoS blockers and go full stealth when coming up on a Survivor, but there are many generators where LoS blockers do not exist. It's pretty RNG dependant.

He is extremely vulnerable to flashlights. I haven't played him in a while, so not sure how bad they are, but every match I've been in where I found one in a chest (I don't ever ready up with one), has gone badly for the Wraith. I'm not talking about pallet break + blind or any of the stupid toxic crap that Survivors do. Just straight up turning around mid-chase and blinding him while he's cloaked and trying to mindgame me. I usually get tunneled and/or mori'd after this, but it is really satisfying.

He is extremely add-on dependent. HIs base kit got a buff iirc, but it's still not that good compared to a lot of Killers. He has really strong add-ons, the silent stuff is fantastic against Survivors who pay 0 attention to their surroundings, but they are more map dependent than most Killers.

Good Wraith Killers can slaughter a team of Survivors, but that's true for every Killer. I've gone against some Clowns who completely wrecked us during the match because they are simply good. Every Killer has this potential, but Wraith needs to work for it a whole lot harder than someone running a Billy or Spirit.

If you can consistently 3/4k at Rank 1 with a Wraith, I'd say you're a pretty damn good Killer. Much the same as people who ran Perkless OG Freddy or similar builds. A large part of a Killer's power comes from the person at the keyboard.

  • Found the best example last night, and it's reproduceable in every match.

Get on Springwood and head to the house with the generator in the basement. This is on any map it spawns there. The one with the car in the garage and that loop w/ pallet. Stand a bit back from the stairs and you will not hear the generator at all. As you go down the stairs, the generator noise will slowly become audible. At one point while you are on the stairs though, it actually completely mutes. Then you take another step, and it becomes fully audible again.

I had 5 matches yesterday on Springwood's various iterations with that generator setup, and in every case this happened to me. Twice it caused me to lose that generator specifically because I thought no one was working on it. Once I realized what was happening, I could prevent it simply by going closer to the generator when patrolling, but sounds coming out of that basement area are screwed up.

So far that's the only bug I can reproduce with consistency. Honestly though, the rest of the sounds are pretty solid for me. I'm just using some cheap Walmart generic headphones, so quality isn't exactly there for me. I have gone in and rebalanced stuff in my audio though for various other games, so I'm wondering if some of these bugs are being caused by people's audio setups or software that isn't reproducing sounds correctly for them.

  • At red Ranks, I 100% agree with that. Certain Killers have 0 map pressure or presence, and are extremely difficult to play without a helper. Low ranks though, where people are supposed to learn the game, is a different story. If you're getting carried by a Perk, on either side (I think Survivors get carried more personally), then you learn nothing. You become mediocre at best.

  • I like the new change. Any Perk that affects the game as much as Ruin does should be given this treatment. That's on both sides of the coin though, not just Killers. I actually do not use Ruin at all in any of my builds, but in its new state, I may consider it. It won't be such a moth to the flame as it is currently.

Hopefully they address the issues that Ruin was covering up though. I think they will, you need both Survivors and Killers to play the game, but faith is a dwindling commodity at times. It definitely could've been marketed to players better. Coming out with a statement that is heavily biased is not a good thing, especially when you are changing a Perk that is so heavily used in the community. That alone would've made the transition much smoother.

There's just too many alarmists and people trying to play up reactions for the benefit of their subs. I've heard this game is dying so many times in the past, and it's still around. It will still be around for as long as the devs support it. It's a really great game, it just has a few issues that need corrected. As long as I can play a match reasonably well though, I'll be here for it.

  • That's the Doctor's lunch. Veal is really good for you and Doctor approved.

Wait...so if he is say in front of me to where I can see...lets say his right half of his body, with his other half blocked by my body standing there...that will interfere? If so I think this may be my issue lol.

Yes. Almost positive on this because I had the same problems when I first started playing against him. Now though, I keep his entire body exposed in front of me without my player body blocking any of it, and he gets revealed really easily.

I actually recorded some matches because some reveals felt like I was doing the exact same thing, but other times it wasn't working. I noticed my body blocking parts of Ghostie when I couldn't get the reveal. Adjusted that little bit and now as long as I see him, I can usually get him out of stealth.

  • Don't let your body block the reveal attempt on him. Third-person view actually hinders the reveal process to some extent. Best way to practice is to find him chasing someone and break him out then. Record it if you can and figure out where you are having issues in your reveals.

I honestly don't have much problem breaking him out unless he's running that one nasty add-on which really cuts the distance down (don't play him so can't remember the name). Otherwise, I normally win the stareoff, or miss it by a half second or so, and that earns me the right to get tunneled a bit. Ghostface's are REALLY touchy about you breaking them out of stealth.

Entity help you if you are a passive observer in a chase and break him out of stealth. I've gotten facecamped a couple times for that. It is funny AF though. There's usualy a second or two of Ghostie staring at me before he comes to take my soul. You can almost feel the raw fury and frustration.

  • Random thought:

When the change goes live, Ruin won't be hunted and gone within the first 30 seconds. :)

  • Spirit. Her freaky movements and phasing are perfect horror movie fodder. Seeing that walking down the street would probably make me hide inside for a few days.

    Nea? OG 4? You're mistaken.

Dwight, Meg, Claudette and Jake are the OG 4. Nea was the 1st DLC survivor

Ahhh. Thank you. I always forget about Claudette. She seems to fade away into the scenery so often.

  • They probably don't promote her as much because she is paywalled. Dwight, Meg, Nea, and Jake are the original four and they'll be the first Survivors someone plays unless they pick up some DLC along with the base game. I'd imagine that they also do this because for the free weekends, these are the Survivors available for people to utilize unless they make the purchase.

Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Huntress would be the same on the Killer side for the same reasons. By promoting the freebies, they can hook people in and get them to pickup the DLC if they like what they see. This is how they got me, and I picked up Hag/Myers within a couple days of playing this for the first time.

Did I miss any btw? I have all the DLC from shards/sales. Can't remember if there are any other free ones.

  • Playing as Hag in low ranks, I have to ease up frequently because the Survivors I'm playing against just aren't very good. This includes the multiple purples/reds that get thrown into the match with me. Happened while i was leveling Freddy, Demogorgon, and the Pig as well. The majority of Survivors I'm seeing there, even with the trash matchmaking, don't have the skills to compete against a decent Killer.

Within the first minute or two though, I can usually feel the SWF and go all out against them. Those matches I find fun though because it helps me get better at my own game, and I would like to hit Rank 1 this season if I can get enough playtime. You will never get better playing against potatoes though, so the 3/4 man groups I play against, getting rekt frequently, give me a chance to work on rusty skills and better my Killer game.

That being said, if you're having issues pipping, especially at low ranks, you need to work on the basics and get better at them. This is why I never use Ruin on any Killer, because it supports you heavily at low ranks and doesn't force you to get any better at the basic skills ALL Killers need to survive in the Reds.

This is something I think will happen frequently now when the nerf goes live. Killers who literally got supported by Ruin through the ranks will drop quickly back into the yellows/greens. Killers who only use it as a tweak to their gameplay will be mostly unaffected. Much the same way Adrenaline, DH, DS, etc etc can carry a Survivor to the red ranks with them learning nothing along the way, Ruin has falsely propped up the Killer side and made it easier to pip and/or get kills.

No I play on PC as well. No idea what is going on.

I do sometimes hear footsteps of running survivors as well, but for the most part they are pretty much completely silent for me.

Weird. I've gotten called out in a couple matches for "hacking" because I could hear people's breathing and/or walking just this week. Newer players of course.

I remember the old sound issues they had before they put some fixes in. If it's like that for you, my sympathies. That was bad trying to track people for me. I ended up just playing Survivor for a while until they patched it.

  • DS should be disabled if the unhooked Survivor does anything other than healing. Vaults, etc etc should not count of course, but if they start repairing a gen, cleansing a totem, or any action that isn't part of being chased or healed, it should be disabled. Otherwise, I think it's just fine as it stands. No need for any other adjustment imo.

NOED... why do people still complain about this Perk? CLEANSE THE TOTEMS. Hell, they even buffed the BP you get from doing dull totems.

I don't normally get into the whole Survivor too strong/Killer too strong stuff, but as a Survivor you can wipe an entire Perk off of a Killer with a few seconds of animation. Why are you not doing this? 1 Perk slot completely wasted, and you can't spend the time taking down a totem? You have now EARNED that NOED proc, and the resultant downs, hooks and sacrifices. I have no sympathy.

  • I have yet to encounter any of the sound issues going on. I hear survivor footsteps, breathing, grass swishing etc etc all the time. It's literally my #1 way to track them during a chase. Cannot count the number of times I've gotten surprise hits and/or grabs out of a locker because their sounds lead me right to them in the past couple weeks.

The only time I don't hear this stuff is when they have Iron Will or a similar Perk to stop them.

Is this on console specifically? I play on PC, so maybe there's a difference in the builds right now.

  • Demogorgon's roar always gets me fired up. He gets the hit, screams in pleasure and victory, and I get a little adrenaline rush to keep that chase going or slap someone on the hook.

That and my guilty pleasure. I love the Clown's cough and laugh. They just seem to fit his character so well. Almost everytime he laughs, I'm laughing too. This used to be the case with the Doctor for me, but I find the Clown to be so much better due to the Doctor's laugh being a bit too synthesized sounding.

  • I'm still waiting for the Leaderboards + Rewards that were promised when they put out the first Roadmap.

That being said, it would be nice to get a small amount of Shards or maybe some special Offering. It's just too easy to get there right now though, so I don't see this being implemented at any time in the near future.

  • Not sure how people are having issues revealing him. Had a match earlier that I had 0 issues with it. I think part of the problem is people trying to look at him dead on. You can't block the screen with your own body, or at least that's the most effective way I've found to reveal him.

It usually pisses him off though, so be careful, especially if he's chasing someone at the time you do it. You tend to become his target immediately.

  • +1. Never thought about exploring the maps and learning them that way. I just count on RNGesus' love when I want to play specific ones.

  • There's too many "Hag is only good for Camping" Killers out there. It skews the results. 😎

But really, the statistics that get vomited forth on occasion are useless. My own personal experience, even at higher ranks I feel more comfortable playing against a good Freddy than I do a good Hag, and I am a Hag main. Good Hags actually scare me a bit when I play against them.

Freddy is a great M1 Killer, very powerful, but he doesn't have the ability to shut down a map like the Hag can. He can teleport, with a cooldown. His snares will slow you, but it's easy AF to stay awake in a match. There's multiple ways to break out of sleeping. He has some neat gimmicks, but they are just that, gimmicks. There's lots of mindgames you can do with him, but the end result is he is heavily dependant on his add-ons to give him that extra boost to take out high ranked Survivors.

Hag isn't reliant on her add-ons for that. They give her more power certainly, but they aren't required to make her great in chases, loops, and overall map pressure. You never know when the hell she's going to pop out next to you and take a swipe if she's played well.

I don't have friends, so I can't make any special proclamation about what they think, but I find Freddy far easier to survive against, even in his new form, than a Hag. Both are tough when played correctly, but Hag comes out on top imo at least.

So you are just checking the area for VERY altruistic survivors? I don't think that counts as camping unless you stay there for a large proportion of the match. Also, THANK GOD someone thag plays killer mentioned slugging. Some of the killers just said survivors are toxic and need to be nerfed

Yeah. It's why I personally would patrol rather than actual Camp. When you camp, you put 0 pressure on Survivors and they can pretty much run wherever they want and blow you out of the match. If you are patrolling though, lots of things you can check in the vicinity without getting too far from the hook to get back there and either interrupt a save attempt, or get an easy hit in to begin another chase/hook event. I actually don't do either, but I'm sitting in low ranks right now until I can play a bit and get back to the purples.

Slugging, I hate it... but it really is necessary in some instances. I can feel the pain when 3 generators pop as you're hooking your first Survivor. You have to do something to slow down the pace of the game and give you time to get in some chases and hooks. And really, the absolute best thing is to slug someone. Especially if there's already one person on the hook. Slug the next, then go back to the hook and engage the rescuer and/or the unhooked one. You can get all the Survivors off of gens really quickly with a simple strategy.

It's just so annoying as a Survivor. It does have it's place as a strategy, but it's definitely not fun to be on the receiving end of it. Just the same as Camping though, when someone is slugging at 5 gens left, you know they are just a toxic moron out to ruin everyone elses' game because someone pissed in their Cheerios that morning. Those types of games I'll crawl to the most out of the way place and hope I can get a wiggle out, just to extend the game, get a few more BP, and maybe have someone get the hatch. Nothing more satisfying than to have Killer Tryhard Toxicass get outplayed because of an Unbreakable, Flip Flop, or similar Perk and someone gets the hatch on them.

You know I like you, you seem to actually put thought into other people's words and your own. I agree with you that Aura reading for survivors is a bit much especially when you add swf into the mix. Plus the tension/adrenaline rush is what got me addicted to this game in the first place.

Consider this though. I thought of the best example to fully represent my complaint. I like NOED, I run it with my killers and I destroy it with detectives hunch/small game. But what if the killer claimed they only used it for the haste? I know the comparison is a bit extreme but imo it's basically the same thing. You don't just use NOED for the haste and you don't just use BBQ for the BPS; they're icing to the cake.

NOED has a haste effect? I actually forget about that all the time because the OHKO is so overpowering when it has a chance to proc. It's rare for me to see NOED though tbh, I cleanse every totem I come across so if it actually procs, it's a legit surprise to me.

But with BBQ, I dunno. I actually do run it for the BP boost because I always forget to glance around and look for auras. Lol. I don't have it on many Killers though, I keep prestiging them, so I'm not used to it at all. I also main Hag, and BBQ is a complete waste on her in my eyes unless you are using it for the BP bonus.

No, I don't think the comparison is that extreme to be fair. It's like Devour Hope has a Haste effect at 1 or 2 stacks when the person is unhooked (can never remember which), but no one ever talks about that. They're always about the OHKO and/or Mori. I use it a lot myself, and never even consider how that could help me in situations.

I think with BBQ you need both effects though for it to work as intended, as a reward for not camping/patrolling but for engaging the Survivors away from the hook. It has the aura read to draw a Killer away from the hooked person, then the bonus BP to reward the Killer for hooking everyone (at tier 3) making them actually want to move off the hook and engage. If you split those up into 2 Perks, it loses a lot of it's effectiveness as an anti-camping Perk unless the developers come up with something to reward Killers for not camping.

Otherwise, what's the point of not Camping and securing that kill? If you move off the hook and end up with 4 escapes rather than 2-4k, you will lose out on emblems and BP. With BBQ I think it's the best of both worlds, because you can at least be satisfied with the extra BP if you get outplayed and end up with a 0k.

The camping is a "legit strategy" part I don't get but I am intrigued. Are you talking about like camping/guarding gens?

There are times when you need to camp a bit at higher ranks. Not at 5 gens left of course, but if you have a bunch of overly altruistic Survivors, camping a hook when a couple gens are done can net you some rewards. It's just really risky at high ranks because good Survivors will go back to gens when they see a Killer camping. You are better off light/heavy patrolling rather than a standing around camp though, because that keeps you mobile and can make potatoes think you are moving off the hook instead of coming immediately back to it in a few seconds.

Personally, I'd rather slug if I need to put indirect "pressure" on gens because it's minimal risk with a healthy reward. 1 player down, at least 1 person healing them, and me with a chance to get in a chase with another for a down. So that leaves 1 person on gens, or best case none if 2 go to heal the downed person. This also carries it's own inherent risks. SWF and the downed person has Unbreakable, no one leaves gens. Or something similar.

At low ranks, both strats are not needed because it's low ranks... but up into the reds, camping will net you some rewards if you notice Survivors behaving in altruistic and "must unhook as soon as possible" manners.

fwiw though, Camping is a legitimate strategy per the Developers, so I doubt anything beyond the -emblem malus will happen. If done improperly, or the Survivors just do gens, the Killer is punished badly for it.

  • I think Camping is a legit strategy when used properly. 5 gens left and you're camping, you're a moron and/or just want to be toxic. I don't think it needs fixed other than what they've done to date.

I absolutely hate getting camped on my first hook, but I don't really blame the Killer. I tend to blame the 3 lemmings who swarm the hook without BT looking to suck on the unhook BP teat. Instead of doing gens due to a Camping Killer (which my Kindred SHOWS), they crouch around, slowly move up to about 12 meters from the hook and sit there. Getting absolutely nothing done, when I will willingly sit here spamming my right shift button (rebind cause my spacebar doesn't need broken) so they can repair at LEAST 3 gens in the time it takes this idiot to roast his or her marshmallows and eat dem s'mores.

  • I love this map for its atmosphere, looks, and general neat ######### to look at while I'm playing on it. It's a great addition imo. Just....

I hate trying to navigate it. HATE IT. ######### this map.

Really need to stockpile about 20 Lab Offerings on someone and then burn them all so I can learn the ins and outs of it. Play Killer once I hit Rank 3/4 so I can depip and just wander around figuring out ######### leads to where. I ALWAYS get burnt on this one generator that sits in a single-entry room, and it looks like the other sides are open, but they really aren't. It's worse than trying to navigate a 5-gens to go Game map. ffs

Lol wow 2 more sardines who can't read.

How can BBQ get nerfed if it's not OP? and I didn't say anything about changing the Aura part at all.

And I complained about killers using a SCAPEGOAT like "I only use it for BPS boost" when in fact you see them scan the whole map after hooking.

I don't care that they get a 4 second Aura reading. Make it longer once the boost is gone for all I care, cause people still camp with BBQ on and those people I believe when they say I use it just for the boost.

How about all survivors get to see the killers Aura for 4 seconds when unhooking with WGLF? It won't be OP right?

Honestly? I don't think an aura read with WGLF would be that bad of a thing.

Since they changed it to safe unhooks, maybe give it a 2/3/4 second aura read on the Killer if they are within 32 meters of the Survivor. Not sure how this would work with taking a protection hit though, since the unhook part requires a safe. It could work out for either scoring event though.

The only problem with this is I dislike the number of aura reading Perks Survivors already have right now. It's a personal thing, but imo Survivors shouldn't have access to aura reads without a SERIOUS drawback. As an example, OoO lets the Killer know where you are at too. I really feel that the uncertainty of knowing exactly where the Killer is at is one of the few tension builders in the game right now.

Biased? Yeah, probably. It's just that aura reads for Survivors are extremely powerful since they can then communicate it immediately to their teammates. As a Killer, they simply help you find someone's general area. There's a lot of hiding places on maps, LoS blockers Survivors can use to their advantage, and Perks that will assist you. There's no Killer side Perk comparable to Discordance. The only one I would consider close is Third Seal, and that's a Hex which puts it in the realm of RNGesus as to whether it lasts all match (like Discordance) or if it's blown up in the first minute.

An aura read could be balanced into WGLF, but maybe it should buff another area of Survivor gameplay instead. Increased self-healing speed (medkit and Perk), maybe a small speed boost like say 2/4/6% for a couple seconds when it procs (add this to the regular bonus for taking a hit if you score a protection hit to proc WGLF), your next skillcheck is auto-great, or pick something else that gives a nice tweak but isn't too overbearing.

I do have to say though, that if you split that Perk into two separate ones, you are effectively nerfing its usefulness as an anti-camping tool. No one is going to give up two Perk slots at high ranks for this and you'll end up with a lot more camping and/or hard patrolling to offset the loss of the aura read for those who choose the BP side of things.

  • Play against a Hag who camps or puts multiple traps at every hook. ggez

Play against a Hag who traps loops, can force people into her web, and exploits Survivor tunnel vision going pallet to pallet. Nightmare fuel

She is arguably the easiest Killer to snowball with, and there's not much Survivors can do against it when it starts.

fwiw, coordinated SWF breaks the game against any Killer. You can still win, it just becomes a sweatfest really fast.

    I love mama Hag. 💘

  • I could see allowing regression if the Killer had to perform an action at the gate. Animation lock for 2-3 seconds maybe tampering with the controls, and then it would regress (like a generator). This would at least provide an opportunity for Survivors at the other gate.

This would be another buff to higher mobility Killers though, and another checkmark against playing outside the meta.

  • 2 DCs = relaxed and I'll let the last 2 farm if they want. That or if I'm playing a specific Killer for a daily and there's a DC. Can make it harder to finish up that daily in one match so I'll let them farm as long as they let me get it done.

  • Red Ranks, already insanely easy to get to as a solo Survivor, will become populated with more potatoes skewing the results of those matches even more.

You'll see a lot more bad matches with baby Killers vs veteran Survivors until they can fix matchmaking. Actual fix, not a "let's just remove the ability to see Ranks at the end" type of fix.

Killer queue times, already really fast right now in comparison to 2 weeks ago, will be even better. Might see some Survivors jump over to get faster games and more BP.

Killer side? I see many Killers getting bumped from the reds because they really aren't that good and have been carried by numerous Perks, Ruin being #1. They never developed skills that are required to compete at Rank 1 due to using Ruin at Rank 20 because "Killers have to use Ruin" as has been stated time and time again on the Forums.

Good Killers will still be good Killers. They'll find a new Perk to use, maybe having to try a bit harder. They are still good Killers. Perks don't change skills and experience.

The devs will probably ease emblems a bit, it's pretty rough trying to pip as a Killer in comparison to Survivor.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing a buff to WGLF, but I run it all the time anyways. The change to Safe Unhooks now gives it a little more room to maybe get a buff in some fashion.

I wouldn't change BBQ though. The aura read is good, it really does give Killers a reason to not "secure the kill", but without the BP bonus, I doubt many people would run it. It doesn't help the low mobility Killers very much, especially on the larger maps other than giving them a "rough" direction to head in after a hook.

How many people actually run Iron Maiden though? I've tried it a few times, but it seems so situational that you're better off with something that'll give you more power over the course of the entire game. Legion is weak AF to begin with btw. He's more of a meme than a Killer imo.

You don't need to block BBQ to prevent it catching you out though. Just move randomly, or in a fashion that throws the Killer off. Much more difficult against a Billy or similar with fast map travel abilities, but instead of just running around like mad, walk so you aren't throwing scratch marks everywhere and they'll probably move right on by you. Hiding is always an option, just have to count off the seconds on that aura read.

  • Most Ghosties I play against don't camp, slug, or tunnel. They tend to go out and stalk their prey. The bad ones camp and tunnel. You can usually tell them because they are the ones who cry "SWF" or "survivor sided" when the other 3 people simply do gens and escape.

If you're paying attention to your surroundings instead of mindlessly shoving your fingers into a gen, you won't get caught out. It's amazing how much information is revealed by panning your camera around. This works against Myers and Amanda as well, so you should practice it. Besides, he's loud AF, imo even louder than heavy breathing Myers. I usually hear him before I can see him.

I normally don't have issues with revealing him, always take great pleasure in doing it from a hook, but he does have add-ons that increase the difficulty of doing this. Think they reduce the distance you can reveal him from, so a good GF will know that distance, stalk you from outside of it, and expose you without danger to his cloak.

As far as removing hiding his TR... uh... that's one of his strengths and how he was designed. Every stealth Killer has this as an option, giving them some form of strategy to avoid things like BT that proc within the TR. Myers + M&A + dead rabbit is one of my favorite Killers to play simply because of this. You can get an enormous number of grabs and mindgame a lot of people simply because they are so used to that TR, that they can't effectively loop or juke without it. You can tell the really good Survivors because lack of TR changes nothing about their game.

  • Getting grabs with Myers never fails to make me laugh and smile. You can almost taste the jumpscare. Especially if it's a good one, where you come around a corner and within 1/10th of a second you're getting the grab off a gen. Almost as good is having the generator in the Killer Shack and Stalking Survivors through the window. Feels good man.... feels real good. Especially if they blow a skillcheck as they start running away from the generator.

Anytime someone completely screws up and DCs. You can feel it coming. Mistimed blinds, bad loops, game mechanics (the locker vault instead of a window), "I saw this on YouTube so I'm going to do it" tech, 5 gens pop because you camped 1 person, you've tunneled that person for 4 minutes so we've completed all the gens, 3 people with BT + 1 hook near the exit door + a sweaty Killer. I laugh everytime something like this happens from either side of the coin. It's moments like these that make me wish I recorded every single match I play.

  • Gens go too fast at high ranks. They go really slow at low ranks. The developers have already stated, unlike any other "competitive" game, they balance for both ends of the spectrum. This is a point of view that many people cannot understand, and flat out refuse to consider. They think that balance should only exist at the top tier of the game, and too bad for the low ranks. They just need to "git gud".

This game isn't just competitive, it's also casual. I'd say, just from my own point of view, there are more casual players than actual competitive ones at any given time. They are playing for fun, not for bragging rights or e-peen measurement (or for subs on their stream). The Developers may have numbers or something to support this, but the balancing that gets done feels like it's a lot more for the casual side of the game than the competitive side.

I personally think, if they can fix matchmaking, they could institute a tiered series of objectives instead of the flat 5 gens/4 kills we have over all ranks. Give the lower ranks an easier time of things to learn, but give the higher ranks challenging matches that are fun rather than an M1 simulator or Slug, Camp, Mori.

It's entirely up to the devs though as to what direction they want to go. Vote with your wallet and playtime, as any gamer should do anyways. Me, I'll just stick around and play casually, thoroughly enjoying myself on both sides, because that's what I want from the game. I've liked and hated changes from both sides on Dead by Daylight, but I still come back to it because it really is a hell of a lot of fun.

  • Huntress with hatchets down for stacks 4 and 5 of Devour Hope is fun. Especially when you mori them and they start calling you a hacker in post-game because "You didn't bring a Mori Offering". This is red ranked Survivors btw.

Just remember, when a jedi warrior completely screws up, you have to let them go and can only resume the chase once they are 32 meters away. They need some time to readjust their ego and make sure their precious flashsaber wasn't damaged. Otherwise, you are a "nub" and need to "git gud" because the game was "ez".

  • I think he's fun to play. I don't really care about power, but it feels good to play as him. I've never seen the show, but after leveling him up to 40 for Perks (going to P3 him eventually), I realized I had just as much fun with him as I do with Hag, Huntress and Myers.

He might be weaker than the holy trinity, but there's a lot of enjoyment to be had just roaming around smacking people with him. Especially when you can bait a shred dodge, nail the Survivor with a basic, then land one on them because they are looking for the bait. Some interesting mindgame potential with him that I don't find on other Killers.

His portals... dunno. I like using them, but even with the stealth effects, I rarely ever get even close to a grab or something like you can with Myers. I use them mostly to pressure the whole map, placing them in out of the way places, near enough to gens but far enough away they won't get closed too quickly. Need to work on my placement more of course, 40 levels is barely enough time to scratch the surface, but overall I like this little addition to his arsenal as it is.

Overall, fun AF to play for me. Even when I get rekt I have a fun match. I play more for that though than to "win". 4k means nothing to me. I just want to enjoy myself.

I would guess it should work with Legion too, as the description says inside his TR. But Dark Devotion should not be applied by a hit in FF, cause that is not a basic attack.

Thinking more along the lines of: come up on 2 people on a gen, hit the Obsession with a basic, then go into FF and move along from there.

The old ranking system was better. You needed two kills and a hook to rank up.

It was better, but camping and tunneling were much more common. I rarely have it happen to me anymore, unless I potato. When it was kills for pips, camping happened every other match, and you'd get tunneled off the hook anytime someone made a save. Didn't matter if someone tried to bodyblock or had BT, you were going back up on the hook because "muh pipz".

Emblems can work, but it seems like they are just haphazardly band-aid'ing it instead of taking a real look at the matches and coming up with a legitimate system to reward the good players and make the bad ones actually git gud.

  • Does it transfer your Feral Frenzy detection on Legion as well? Or does that stay as your "normal" TR?

  • I'm a Killer main, rank 13 but moving up swiftly again as I finished all my teachables finally. Should be in the reds a week or so after the next reset. I'll stay high purple/low red as best as I can because that's where I have the most fun, and I'm not really a solid Rank 1 Killer. I tend to go easy frequently, and enjoy the chases too much to be truly effective.

Rank 4 Survivor, but I'm done playing that for a while. Killer queue times are insanely fast for me, so I'll suck up those BP and have some fun while it lasts.

  • Multiple hits tonight were trash, and that's playing from the Killer side of things. Swung around a corner on a Bill, moved through the pallet square and got the hit, after the hit animation I got the stun animation and heard the pallet drop, Bill was back on the other side of the pallet and down.

This is uncommon, but not as infrequent as people think. It's one reason I disrespect most pallets now. I get a ton of bullshit hits on Survivors, and it's not their timing at fault. When the pallet drop + stun animation play after the hit goes through and I've already done my wipe, there's something wrong.
