It is very relevant seeing as how it is the main reason why I couldnt solo any gen AND nonstop unhook players.
It wasn't because your teammates kept needing saving then?
-
The killer was running the incredibly overtuned 4-hex build — Ruin, Pentimento, and the rest.
Don't think the 4-hex build got him the two downs. Kind of sound irrelevant to the rest of the story.
Teaming is something you can report.
-
So you tap the switch and stealth to the other gate while the killer searches around the auto completing gate? How about you give the killer the ability to regress the switch?
-
I don't think any of these needed nerfs. It's just selective outrage that will find a new target shortly after.

Which may be fun for a game or 2, but anything reliant on jumpscares for horror gets very old very quickly.
It does, that's why DBD isn't scary after playing for some time. Another reason why these modes are limited events.
-
BHVR does update the engine regularly.
They are trying to speed up light to reduce latency but running into issues with physics.
-
Turning off end game chat will take care of one of those issues.

"In reality players want to win"
Well yes, we see this in every discussion around game balance. Anytime someone mentions just playing for fun and not worrying about winning or losing, a bunch of people will tell you to stfu and they're here to win (ask me how I know lol). Not sure if you tried survivor in the first round of LO, but I can assure you the issue was less to do with losing/winning and more to do with the frustration of running into walls and corners because you were disorientated.
I've played it everytime it came up. Never had the issue of being disorientated or running into walls, so I cannot relate.
-
It can be both

that doesn't necessarily track imo; a lot of players are boosted by crutches and Lights Out takes all that away. I can handle fighting naked, whereas many people can't. lots of killers need their aura perks and Slowdowns. Nurses have to use their eyeballs so they just don't play Nurse.
Everyone knows Nurse uses echolocation.

Because every single power in this game (other than those with stealth) were created without basekit stealth in mind. Not much fun to be had when a killer is able to down you out of nowhere with 0 time to react
It's a mode that came about because players said the game wasn't scary anymore and where's the horror. In reality players want to win, not be scared, so it's hated.
Players that play the mode with the mentality of normal matches miss the point. It's supposed to be like facing a movie serial killer.

Shakeups definitely gave us some fresh air, new things to try, new builds to play.
More calls for shackups. More post about "OP" builds.
-
All the other "meta shakeups" worked out so well.
-
Lights Out is the real horror aspect of DBD, Not knowing. Survivors don't like not knowing. So they hate Lights Out.
-
You know the concept of MMR right? You're forcing yourself to be outclassed every match you play.
-
Odd, I was told he was overpowered and unfun.

But they're still pushing the Survivors out. If the Killer really has lost all hope of getting a kill, they can push them out. Or they can choose not to and run around, break pallets, doors, etc. The same point applies to all these scenarios: the Killer is in control.
If the killer isn't one that can one shot, I've seen survivors hide and wait out the timer before. If they get found they take a hit and run out the gate.

There are killers who give up when the going gets tough too by standing in the corner or opening up the exit gates, they still get counted unlike the dc's.
doesn't mean all the data is worthless. At least that's when the going gets tough. I'm talking about pre first down standing under a hook bad here.

Once a gate has been open for 60 seconds I think the killer should be able to resign. Not abandon. Resigning would give all remaining survivors full credit for escaping including the MMR gain and MMR loss for the killer.
If the killer is done trying all that's left for survivors to do is heal (which they probably have already done), cleanse dull totems, open chests and bm the killer which could include using Plot Twist to extend the timer. That's not gameplay worth preserving.
I also think slugs in the 2v1 scenario should be able to resign after 60 seconds.
Sure, if that could also be the case for survivors that abandon the moment all survivors are on hook or down.

Except the Killer is in control of that situation, too. Even in endgame, even when the game is lost on the Killer's end, they are in control. That is the main difference that no one seems to understand.
Depends on the killer. Some M1 killers you can hit a survivor mid map and not have the ability to get the second hit if they have a straight path to an open exit.
-
Fireup?
-
Kill rates would have more meaning if survivors wouldn't stop playing the moment they noticed a killer they don't like.

Main point of them was to make matchmaking more consistent as having killer as host could cause really bad latency issues.
It was a double edge sword. While it made the killer roll less abusive when it comes to introducing lag it also forced some regions to connect to servers very far from them to actually play. Even with the servers, complants about lag and lag switching haven't stopped and IPs for players were still leaked.

Pretty funny how this game still does not have server side checks for impossible actions. Cheaters can add haste, teleport, bypass game rules like cool downs with no challenge from the server. It literally accepts anything the client sends. You could not pull this off in any modern PVP game.
Yeah, what was the point of servers if things like this can't be flagged for investigation?

Havent her fatigue and animations been bugged for years now?
Yes, and they just fixed it not too long ago. I suspect that's where the OPs slow felling is coming from.
-
There's probably some signed driver being exploited to gain ring 0 access bypassing EAC. So DBD is going to not launch if that driver is loaded. I doubt it will have anything to do with hardware like motherboards or keyboards. It would be the software and drivers.
-
There has been very few, if any, events players haven't complained and riot over. Only in retrospect does any event get praise.
-
Killers need to aim? While we do have killers with projectiles, this isn't a fps. How do you aim a swing with precision?
Expressing skill with a killer must reward at the level of effort put into developing that skill. Problem being every survivor will/has revolted to this scenario. Killer gets nerfed without reducing the effort to play making the killer not worth playing.
-
Maybe you watch a Youtube video on DBD anxiety and started to feel anxious?
If you feel anxiety over playing killer then stop playing and take a break. Nobody is forcing you to torture yourself.
-
I take it that Wraith can hit a survivor instantly after breaking the gen. So, this can only happen after hooking a survivor and only one time until the next hook. DBD has many stealth based killers that can just walk up on you at any point. Also there are perks/addons that remove TR from any killer.
I don't think its a big deal. Sure it's cheaper than silent bell addon but burns a perk slot for a basic hit.
-
Because when there's two survivors left its highly likely the killer is going to down one of them. How long should it be before the down survivor can abandon?
By current rules, if there's only one non-bot survivor they get the ability to abandon too. Does the match for the survivor end when there's only two left now? Guess the killer just needs to clean up the mess or abandon as well.
Or killers can start slugging for the 4k at three survivors and avoid getting bots. Then we can start this conversation all over again.
-
Why does Sprint Burst and Lithe operate with the same amount of Exhaustion as less popular perks to use like Balanced Landing and Overcome?
Why? Because we've been here before and it was not fun. Where we are now took years of complaining to balance sprinting type perks.
I understand the feeling of finding a survivor just for them to speed away but it's just something you need to strategize around.
Sprint Burst is the lesser of the two Perks
I find this line to be hilarious.

Game was always hard on new players because you can't teach experience. Only time everyone was on "equal" terms was at the start of beta.
- Drip drip of BP? A lot of my criticism is going to be based on, you don't even know how good you have it, old man talk. But the fact you got 40+ killers to P3 in 1000 hours is insane coming from it took nearly 3x as long with less killers for most of us vets. Even modern day I can get 1 killer and 1, 2, or even 3 survivors to P9 well before the next chapter hits, and I don't play anywhere as much as I did years ago.
1b) The grind is the reason many people even continue to play this game. Those like me who played for years are trapped in a cost-sunk fallacy and newer players need a goal to reach or they become bored and leave.
2) MMR doesn't work because making it work causes players to realize they aren't top tier kill or survivor. They get frustrated claiming every match is sweat. The reason new players SWFing with vets going into the pits of hell is due to smurfing issues. A low MMR survivor host the lobby and vets join them getting baby killers. It was such a big issue bhvr had to rework it so that match making would use the highest MMR player for match making.
3) perk bloat is an issue because every character needs 3 perks, apparently. The devs digged a hole and keep throwing dirt out. As for the equip perk and win, no. While perks make some aspect of the game easier it is down to the skill of the player. You can be a ######### player with meta perk and still get your ass handed to you.
4) old man telling you you don't know how good you have it. The hatch is necessary or there will be no endgame. Any solution you can think of, I will tell you now, has been proposed and shot down.
5) argued at nauseam, not going into it.
6) yet 10 years later the game is still kicking. Not much you can do without taking actual controll away from the player.
Overall, congrates on 1000+ hours. Hope the tutorial phase treated you well.

Within a year I don't really think that counts
it does when we have 43 killers and limited amount of ideas.
-
43 killers, there's going to be overlap.
-
If you feel anxiety then it is time to take a break.
-
I don't see an end game
voicechatIt happens, most of the talk about it is historical when everybody was on Steam getting messages after a match. Some players would use tools to get into your every lobby. (Happened to me before). Players will be as toxic as you let them. That's why we have anonymous mode now.

It's because the strategy is diminished so much against the toolkit of Jason that it is no longer a viable one. I really think the "footsteps" are a joke, since they just supersede scratch marks, appear when walking - and therefore ignore any and all perks on the survivor side that hide or modify scratch marks/tracking. And the "red mist" is Aura that cannot be suppressed, not even in a locker.
I don't find that at all. People make it out that Jason is able to see and hear across maps and can be everywhere at once. Such foolish nihilism.

We joke, but we are quick to dismiss the fact that something he might be doing with his build could show something wrong with the game. I'm not saying there IS something wrong but no other game has ever had this happen that's competitive.
Like the build or a specific playstyle, or maybe a specific trapper interaction… What I don't understand is why the balance team doesn't study these win streaks (on both sides), to see what's wrong. No build is 100% going to work. It's not the killer or the perks that get kills. It's the skill level of the killer and the survivors they are facing. One Pump Willie is a highly skilled killer. He devotes a lot of time to this game and tries to master killers other players ignore. You won't find many survivors capable of facing that kind of skill playing dbd today.

so what determines a throwaway account not being someone getting frustrated and making this known to BHVR?
And yes, people could do that but that misses the point of why would they isolate it to the forums and not somewhere like twitter where the controversy you think they'll cook up could spread like wildfire? BHVR can't control it there, but here they can easily delete the account entirely before it spirals out of control and then whatever satisfaction they wanted from the attention and negativity is squashed
You can't prove either way. That's why I say it's suspicious. You seem to be the belief that every account is legit and valid while I'm more skeptical of the timing and nature.
-
Clearly Trapper is OP. It shouldn't be possible for anyone to win 200+ times in a row. It just shows how unbalanced this killer is.
/s but these are actual arguments you find here.

In the end you can do gens while he is in his power. He will eventually come out and chase one of you guys. So why waste the time not sitting on the gen. I for example have stopped caring if he is in his power when I am on a gen. The gen progress is way more imporant that hiding from him. Just keep track of the spots he can appear from and if the map has grass and it moves just start moving away of any possible spot for him to appear from. Play the enviroment against him but hiding when doing a gen is pointless as he will either come out to check the gen anyway or you will just waste time sitting in a corner waiting him to comeout.
I have said it would be good to him not see anyone doing objectives but have to wait what the changes are going to be.
Crazy how basic stategy is down voted. Have we devolved into hiding in corners?
