See the positive side: It was not Ormond :P

Hey... I hate Ormond but actually got a 4K using Spooky Myers (Scratch Mirror and Boyfriend's Memo) the other day. I was so proud.

Does this count as bug abuse or maybe griefing? Idk it doesn't feel right to me.

Three times now I've watched killers see a survivor stuck in a hill and refuse to whack em to hook them. They will literally stare at them, shake their head, and let them wait the full endgame timer to die.

It's kind of an excessive, spiteful thing to do.

The sooner the Patch comes and makes the "Hungry Hill" extinct, the better. I can't address the specific Killer experience you had, but I've never seen anyone do that. It would be long and boring for the Killer too. It is also worth less points. The lost potential in chasing, hitting, downing, and hooking you multiple times is very cutting. So, I think you just had bad luck with a very rare exception of a bad player. We have to judge things by the Bell Curve, not the statistical outliers.

For my own part, I'm always torn when I come across the stuck person. If I notice them, and I'm ashamed to say I'm often so busy chasing other people that I have missed it before, I hit them and hook them and then leave the area so someone can pull them off. I consider this tax a fair exchange for the release. What I will not do is:

    1. Use a stuck Survivor to charge up my Stalk and go Tier-3 Myers for free. This would be unethical.
    2. Leave the Survivor there until everyone else is dead. This too is unethical.

I'm not going to drop a chase or important activity I've got going on the second I see them stuck (that would be prohibitive to me depending on what is going on) but I will get them out as soon as it is possible without handing over a different hook or generator in the process. All this being said, this is just what "I" do. I don't really think it is my place to tell other Killers how they should handle the situation. I had one Survivor mad that I didn't down them and drop them. I got grief for still putting them on the hook. I was like, look... I lost time and valuable chase/pressure getting you out of the hill. I didn't HAVE to do it. Some people are never happy.

  • I've faced them, and I've countered them. I've used tons of the methods already listed in this LONG thread. There are lots of Killers that are good at camping, some of them much better than Bubba. The Hag might be the reigning QUEEN of basement camping, and she doesn't even have to give up hunting other people down while she does it. Just because something is hard, or you are playing a VERY good Bubba, doesn't mean it can't be countered.

I love playing Scratch Mirror Myers. I had a Survivor go off on me and tell me that build can't be countered on certain maps. I said, I beg your pardon, but I've gotten my butt handed to me in the Meat Plant and at Lerys. The Survivors quickly realized I was a Spooky Myers and went VERY aggressive. The point is, I'm pretty darn good at Spooky Myers (I can even win on larger maps now) and I've still get curb stomped from time to time even when conditions are optimal for me.

Yes, and ds isn't the only perk/tool that can help you escape, sprint burst and dead hard can help with it and bt.

Those Perks don't stun the Killer and prevent him/her from going after other Survivors even if they help the user escape. DS pretty much gets EVERYONE out pretty regularly. How do I know this? I've done it. If I, or anybody I play in a SWF team with, still has a DS available and the end game collapse has begun, we make sure we get caught by the Killer. You don't make it obvious, a little chase is put up, but the point is to get caught and stun the Killer. Maximum escape vector is created. By in large I don't approve of SWF and after doing it for awhile I decided not to do it anymore unless it is a Custom Game among us ourselves. However, I see other people employing this same tactic on a regular basis. I've had to let people bleed out because of it.

  • @SCP_FOR_DBD said:

    Title.

People don't want to have to run a perk to not get gen rushed and a perk to not get tunneled. I don't think this would break the game. Obviously they might need to be tweaked to work better as base kit.

Edit: If people are opposed to making perks base kit the devs could also build in basekit counters to tunneling and gen rushing.

This would be a bad idea in my opinion, but playing devil's advocate I'll address it in more depth.

    1. If D/S was a built in thing, it would require a GREAT Skill check to work, and how quickly you get that Skill Check would have to be random, i.e. it might not happen fast enough to avoid the hook. This is the only way to build it in so it doesn't invalidate the value of actually taking the Perk. *Of course I think the Perk should be 15/30/45 seconds respectively rather than its current incarnation.
    2. I think having an Offering and/or Add Ons that can mimic Corrupt Intervention (say for the first minute) might be workable, but locking off those two furthest Gens for two minutes for free is too much short of a Perk.
    3. By in large I wish that all the Survivors had ONE of their abilities as inborn (like the Killers) and thus an unteachable ability. I think game balance would be better, and Survivor choice would make for hard calls. Right now the Survivors are really just Skins. The Killers are not. I think the signature ability of each Survivor should be an inborn ability, but again, that is just me.

Anytime I give this kind of commentary it comes with a grain of salt. I am not in the DEV, nor do I do this for a living. I haven't been playing long enough to really be qualified to make suggestions without this caveat.

  • I don't tend to comment too much about specific Perk suggestions because I don't really feel qualified. I will make a rare exception here. This idea deserves to be thought out. I'm not against it specifically. Right now many Survivors (myself included) save D/S until they absolutely must use it, i.e. last hook or end game collapse. Why? If you use it during the end game collapse, you pretty much are guaranteed to get away. What is more, you are pretty much guaranteeing all your friends get away too. The stun created is just long enough to give the Killer a serious bad day. The point of DS is that it is an anti-tunneling tool. Well, tunneling doesn't matter once you have hit the end game collapse. All bets are off on everything.

There is a negative side effect going on too, i.e. the slugging that everyone hates. No Killer in his right mind is going to want to pick anyone up unless they know for CERTAIN the DS has already been used. They know with the gates open, often right at hand, that if they pick someone up and get DS'd.... everyone gets away pretty much automatically. The Killer doesn't want that but their only other choice is to slug everyone down and wait for them to bleed out or the end game collapse to complete. That isn't ideal for anyone.

So, after thinking about this all morning, I kind of agree. The end of the game is the end of the game. I'm pretty sure I would also take away the Killer's ability to open the gates too though, or you would be creating a situation where DS can be turned off at the Killer's best timing.

What I ment is that he knew we were very far to be able to reach the hooked survivor thanks to Bitter Murmur so he can save 10-20 seconds by abandoning the hooked victim so he can reach us before we can escape

And your point is what, he was a good player? The aura snapshot given by that Perk do not come with a range finder. He had no idea how far away everyone was or not. He took a gamble. If your problem is with Perks that reveal position, that is a horse of a different color. It has nothing to do with a Camping Bubba.

Sorry to burst your bubble but in-game behaviour reflects absolutely nothing about a person. One can act like a toxic, disgusting, childish kid in Dead By Daylight while being the most precious, caring and terrific human being in the real world.

Not in my experience. I have found, in a rather long life at this point, that there is a direct correlation.

  • @Yamaoka said:

While it may be scummy to dc I wonder why you are thinking about attributes like self respect and pride in a video game. At the end of the day games are played for fun and nothing else (unless you're a streamer who pretends to enjoy the game to pay the rent) so sone people will obviously just disconnect if the game's not fun for whatever reason. Nothing will ever change that so why even make a fuss about it?

How we conduct ourselves in play is a direct reflection of how we conduct ourselves in life. If one cannot even display basic common courtesy in a make-believe game, it means they are waste of space in the real world too. Good sportsmanship is the most basic of lessons we learn, and probably only the second or third as we grow up. I make a "fuss" about it because such people deserved to be shamed. Society, and this gaming community is a society of a sort, only functions well based on common morays and etiquette. So yes, when people act like human garbage, I'm going to call them on it.

My issue is if he gets an early down, also Bitter Murmur shows the aura of all survivors for 10 seconds once the final gen is done. I saw him abandon a hooked survivor to down 2 who were going for the exit gate, knowing that I was very far to be able to reach the already hooked survivor.

And about my timings, yes every match will be different but even with the best outcome he will secure 2 kills, unless survivors manage to pull off a flashlight save or unhook themselves with ds, unbreakable, and soul guard.

Ummm... you kind of undermine your own point. If the Bubba left the hook to go down more people, that is the very OPPOSITE of camping. You could have worked to 99 the other gate, gone for the rescue, done any number of things. The fact that the Bubba leaves the hook (at any time) shows he is NOT camping.

  • @rhodamia said:

Let's go over tunneling and camping shall we? People toss those words around a LOT on here. So let's be clear

    Examples of camping:

Staring at the hooked survivor and revving a chainsaw face to face

Scaring off survivors but refusing to chase in order to protect one hook

Staying within heartbeat range of hook the whole time despite seeing no-one

Here are examples of NOT camping:

Chasing a survivor near a hooked survivor (guy being chased needs to leave the area and loop somewhere else so a buddy can unhook)

Seeing someone go for a save and chasing them. (Assuming the killer wasn't doing the above camping beforehand) If they SEE you. They are going to chase you and smack someone when you unhook. It's called "unsafe unhooking" verified by the fact that there are bloodpoint rewards for "safe unhook" and the game punishes you for performing unsafe unhooks rank-wise. Read the emblems for altruism.

Bouncing between nearby gens and the hook. That's patrolling. Wait for him to go for a gen. Then unhook. Simple.

    Examples of tunneling

Seeing a survivor and running past them to hit someone else

Ignoring a body block to try to get to someone else

Here are examples of NOT tunneling:

Seeing you run up to the hook and following you but hitting the unhooked guy instead (he took a chance on BT triggering. If the unhooker was healthy then the killers choices were a 2 hit down on the unhooker, or a 1 hit down with a chance of BT... Easy choice)

If you get off the hook and walk or run into the killers view on accident or on purpose and he chases you.

If you get off the hook and the killer downs and hooks someone else then finds and downs you. Not tunneling. If they hit someone, pick them up, put them on the hook, find you, chase you, and down you again. That's. Not. Tunnelling. The whole time they were killing your friend was plenty of time for you to get away. Please explain that to whoever coded DS.

    Did I miss anything?

And your point is what? Look buddy, it is pointless to gripe about camping or to try and define what is or isn't camping. We have Killers who can "camp" the hook from the other side of the map. They literally can walk away (and do) on purpose so someone will come up and they can teleport back. Don't blame those Killers can't hide what they are doing. You should be grateful for any "tells" you get.

Most people simply hit whom them can hit. I get accused of Tunneling whether I do it or not. I take the first victim I close the distance with. I do this whether I know they were unhooked, have DS, or whatever. In my opinion, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I let them get their DS over with and move on. My strategy is that I'm not strategic. If you get in front of me, you get hit.

Killers have nothing to apologize for whatsoever. I will tunnel, camp, or mori you if it serves me winning the game. In most cases, tunneling or camping will not be a benefit. You pick and choose those times. I'm so sick of hearing people whine or winge or try to define good versus bad. We come and play hard. All I ask is:

    1. Do not use hacks or lag spikes to cheat.
    2. Play the game to the end. If you start it; finish it.
    3. Do not be salty before or after the game. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Smack talk is for close friends, not people you meet on the internet.

There was nothing "buggy" about the game we were playing. The Claudette just disconnected the second I downed her. And I DO blame people for bad sportsmanship. I play every game to the bitter end. If you are EVER in a game and you see Mr. Moundshroud has disconnected either my internet went down or my heart went out. It is so disrespectful and has so little dignity.

  • @Aneurysm said:

At least she waited until being downed. Some will disconnect on loading screen after being tunnelled in the lobby

She didn't even get tunneled. I put the first hit on several people before I came back to her. I found it hard to believe it was a Rank 2 how easily I got on top of her. That is why I wonder if there is a way to manipulate the d/c to avoid losing a Pip. All in all, that is just very poor sportsmanship and destroyed whatever chance her teammates had of doing well in that game.

Mori offerings in their current form are OP and should be nerfed. If SWF teams are a problem, the solution shouldn't be an OP item that can be used on everyone and not just SWFs. That just results in both things being a problem.

Except that the Mori has been around a LLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGG time and hasn't proven to be OP. Long and the short of it is, don't fix what ain't broken.

  • @FFabeq said:

Bleeding out when in dying state, and killed by ph cages would still exist, so it wouldn't be only hooks

And those are slow and tedious. At least the Mori is quick. My point is the Mori is a necessary tool because it puts pressure on SWF so they can be pushed off Gens. When you know you can die after a single hook, nobody does the superman and stays on the generator taking hits just to get going.

I've noticed that when I take a Mori (even when I don't use it) I don't run into a room with three people working on a Generator only to have all three just keep right on working ignoring me. When I don't have the Mori that is EXACTLY what they do. They know they have so many hooks left and powering through this Gen is more important. That is the kind of math I'm talking about. The Mori prevents that.

  • There is nothing wrong with the Mori. They have been part of the game and theme for a LONG time and they haven't broken anything. Removing the threat of a quick death reduces the game to brutal, tedious math, i.e. counting hooks, Pac Man with different skins. No thank you.

  • @lostboy said:

    Simple question, when?!

They are working on it. The new Killer and his Perks should create a great impetus to do Bones. More objectives will slow them down a bit. SWF is an issue, and they are going to try to do it Perk style. While I'm dubious about the long term effectiveness of this approach, I have to give them the benefit of the doubt. They do this for a living; I don't.

That is why I said "It doesn't matter what the context is assuming/stereotyping and prejudging is all the same thing." so someone like you wouldn't say something dumb like this. YES I KNOW IT IS NOT RACISM DUMMY

Clearly racism is the prejudice against races. What I am saying is there is no difference between two people whom one is racist other is xenophobe they are the same thing different words because one is specific to races other is countries but thought process and ignorance is exactly the same. If there was a word to an individual who is prejudice against two different game platform player base I would use it and you would be happy ?

and no it is nothing like trash talking about two different teams. There is no team made of 40.000+ people and PC players have nothing in common other than playing the same game. It is like saying all soccer teams are the same.

you are even worse because a horribly faulty thought process is not being used on a bigger scale then it is OK to do it ? this is how problems spread, you have to fix it before it spreads.

Actually no. You are engaging in hyperbole which does a disservice to those affected by actual discrimination and persecution. Check yourself. Man up and admit you could simply have said, "stereotyping is wrong." You undercut people who actually suffer when comparing something as silly as playing video games to real world horrors.

  • There are just a bunch of people who aren't happy if they aren't whining or winging over something. There are some legitimate issues for discussion, but they are lost in the sea of salty tears; more is the pity. I expect if people send even ten percent of the time playing the game that they do complaining about it, they would be good enough not to have the problems they write about.

  • Yep, ideally you can see the Killer but he can't see you anymore as long as someone else has died. :) I think it is an interesting design and I'd hate for it to go entirely, but it needs a rework for people to actually use it.

  • @ReSpEcTtHe4PeRcEnT said:

    Hey

I recently bought Laurie but I don't see the use of her perk Sole Survivor. Is it viable? It just seems as if you only have use of the perk if the killer slaughters the rest of your teammates? And even then the reward seems situational?

Pretty much. If you take that Perk you literally juice up as others die. It does seem a conflict of interests in some cases. However, all that being said, I don't know how many Strodes actually take the Perk. My experience seems to be that the Strodes are great team players that seem to come back again and again to try and save the last other Survivors no matter the odds. It is a paradox.

  • @aGoodOldRub said:

This is stupid. This is literally racism. It doesn't matter what the context is assuming/stereotyping and prejudging is all the same thing. You can't possibly be so ignorant to label ALL pc players by the killers you face against which is almost always tend to be same few hundred people because region/time of the day/rank.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but it isn't racism. It is a type of bigotry to be sure, but we should be careful about terms as it weakens and invalidates them when they are thrown around willy-nilly. Racism is a specific type of bigotry tied to ethnicity or perceived ethnicity. Snobbery over Console versus PC isn't an appropriate comparison. One is as simple as choosing one's favorite football team and then being vocally loyal to them while trashing all other teams. The other is being born into an ethnic group that suffers discrimination and persecution for no other reason than they are alive.

I apologize for this little screed, but this is a pet peeve of mine. PC versus Console is a silly, artificial construct. Racism is not; please do not lump them together.

  • I have noticed no difference whatsoever between PC and Console players (regardless of main). I'm not sure where all these salty tears come from. I wish I would pull these mythical players that each whiner side claims exists in their own group. They sound swell. All I ever get is standard DbD players. They throw the same pallets, use the same tactics, and do the same things right down to the some of the salty and poor sportsmanship in some cases. The only thing that is different is less after game chatter since the Console players can't do it. It makes them seem very nice. But then I come over here and realize they are also the same, and have to vent a spleen when they get wrecked. Ah well.

Please review the video. I'm telling you that Survivor was doing something to me causing me to slow down, be unable to interact with the pallets, etc. It stopped the SECOND she died. And the person on the hook never went away. The timer wasn't slowed down. It was stopped.

Save this whining stuff for private. Make valid suggestions, such as indicating where you think a Killer is weak. Talk about problems on the map. Just a blanket statement like this is a screed and has no value. Survivors have their Perks and we have ours.

  • Offerings are only as good as their practical, applied effect. I'll use the Oak sometimes. They just don't have enough effect on the game. I'd love to see an offering that locked down just (1) of the farthest away Hooks, sort of a mini-Corrupt Intervention. The current offerings just don't have a strong enough game effect. So yeah, mostly I use Maps, the Oak, and sometimes the party stuff to give everybody a boost.

Myers is strong, yes. With just a little bit more strength than the average person but not superhuman.

And no i wouldn't say he can beat the entity it sounds silly lol.

Depends on what you go by. Myers is called the Shape for a reason. He is merely the shape of a man. He is something else; he is the boogeyman if you go only by the original film. There is something riding the body that doesn't care about time; it is irrelevant. And, unlike the other Killers who must make an offering to the Entity to kill, Michael does it when he wants to do it. The Entity is some kind of evil from outside, slithering its through worlds. Michael Myers is homegrown, evil native to this world, and I'll put the boogeyman up against the Entity any day.

Ah, yes, let me be grateful for battle passes, which are just enhanced monetization schemes, in a game that already has a purchase to access the game, DLC purchases multiple times per year to actually have access to 100% of the gameplay, and an in-game cosmetic shop for real money.

Yes, as if the log-in ads for cosmetics weren't enough, here's smaller ads (in the form of notifications for "prizes" you've "earned" even though it's literally nothing 75% of the time) that pop up after every match. That's all those are. Ads.

You can be grateful to a corporation for granting you such an amazing boon as some valueless digital costumes all you want, that's still not even relevant to what I was talking about.

Also, if I had a dollar for every mark I've seen talking about "more free stuff?!" in response to battle pass discussions of all things, I'd be a rich man by now. How can so many suckers possibly exist? Do you really think these items exist as nice little fun freebies for you? Maybe in the early days of DBD when it was mostly just event items.

Don't even get me started on you spending $10 to participate in an absolutely absurd grind. Why make it a grind? So you pay for skips of course. Gotta make money on making money, after all. Jesus. The scheming never ends.

Know what I'd be "grateful" for? A return to an era where I would buy a game, and if there were costumes to unlock, I'd do it by achieving things in-game. And occasionally you'd buy an expansion with a whole bunch of stuff. I mean, if they make most of their money on cosmetics, why even charge for the game or DLC? They're so far beyond double or triple dipping, and people will defend it. You're supposed to make companies fight to earn your buck, not defend them.

So find another game and don't let the door hit your fanny on the way out? I suspect you will be taking a lot of toxic with you. Good riddance. If you stay, you are a hypocrite and we will know you just like to whine and winge.

  • Michael is the only one who doesn't need a treat, i.e. an offering to the Entity to Mori. Michael does what Michael wants.

  • Michael Myers, plain and simple. He is the Grand Pooba who is the spiritual ancestor from hence the whole genre flows. Even in the Lore the Entity can't control Michael Myers. He appears to have come more or less because he wanted to and kills whom he wants. If the Entity isn't careful, it might end up supplanted someday.

  • Rank matters to me. The more potent your Rank, the harder it is NOT to lose a pip. One disconnect usually means I'm lucky to hold steady. I think if a PC disconnects, and I lose a pip, it should be a wash.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

Don't you have any sense of reflection? Do you just hear what they say and take it as granted? Are you incapable of thinking for yourself?

Its okay to take their opinions into account and formulate your own. What is not okay is to take their opinion and put them into a pedestal, spam their videos and take everything they say in them as an axiom.

Yes, I know it is a player a 100 thousand hours in the game, yes, I know it is a player that knows how to play very optimally, yes, I know it is a player that can 4k as clown 100 games in a row, does that make everything he says about the game true? No. Learn to think critically.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

I always apply critical thinking to whatever topic I am weighing. That being said, the opinion of experts in the field should always weigh in appropriately. I apologize, but I'm always going to take the opinions of Otz and Monto (and quite a few others) seriously. That is part of critical thinking.

  • Perhaps I just don't have the context to understand this complaint. I think it is silly. But then again, I've never bought a single cosmetic. I don't even understand why people do it. I'm not here to dress up my Survivor or Killer like a Barbie Doll. If I wanted to do that I'd play more Skyrim where I can get all the incredible, free mods I want to dress up characters.

I'm here to PLAY DbD and will probably never use any cosmetic that I didn't earn from the free area. I don't even see the point in doing the Prestige thing. Seems wasteful of my time and the stuff I collected. I might just be too old to understand wanting to makeover fictional serial killers and their victims. But my original point stands. DbD provides you with free stuff already. Saying they aren't giving you enough sound entitled, spoiled and ungrateful.

And why do I get a notification after every single match I don't open it to go 'claim my reward'? That's some primo trolling.

I care approximately 0% about cosmetics even at the best of times, so I'm not the target audience regardless, but good lord could this be any more lazy and obvious? It's the most barebones battle pass concept I've seen so far, so much empty space.

Ummm... you are trying to demonstrate how to be toxic by complaining the company isn't giving you ENOUGH free stuff? Given that most of their money is made off cosmetics, I'm surprised (and certainly don't expect) them to give us ANY free stuff. Talk about ungrateful. The game is inexpensive. The new additions are always inexpensive. Isn't playing the game enough?

You are a long distance runner. Unlike Meg, who is a sprinter, you train for endurance and controlled bursts of speed. Pushing the Action Trigger while running will increase speed to 115% for up to 3/5/7 seconds (based on the level of the Perk). The Exhaustion status will trigger afterwards and last for 60/45/30 seconds after (based on the level of the Perk).

Love spooky Myers too. It's not so much big maps more open maps that are the problem no where to hide yourself. Survivors don't like it but if they bum rush hook don't need to leave. What is your build?

Right now, based on the Perks I have available, I use Hex: Ruin, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, Play With Your Food, and round it out with Sloppy Butcher to slow down the healing a bit. I will eventually replace Sloppy Butcher with Hex: Undying or Hex: Haunted (whichever I get my hands on first). *I have lots of options for that last slot so still testing things out. I seem to get more out of Sloppy Butcher so far. Obviously I'm running the Scratched Mirror and Boyfriend's Memo. As an offering, I will gladly put a Map if I'm trying to pip. Spooky Myers loves: Meat Packing Plant, Lerys, Hawkins, and as a surprise to me Midwich. Spooky Myers rocks that map. *All other Myer's builds get roasted there though. I have found I can play on MOST Coldwind Farms maps (minus Rotten Fields) with competency. I think I just developed the talent since I pull these maps all the time. When I'm not putting in a Map, and just taking what comes to practice, I usually put in to put the hooks closer together.

*The point of this build is to swamp the map in Totems which alert me the moment someone touches one and gives me more time to get there. Spooky Myers has to find Survivors quickly on big maps, and my Totems do double duty in slowing down the Gen-Rush and helping me home in until I'm close enough that the Scratch Mirror does the rest.

Until unbreakable plays comes not against camping it out but that's just me.

True enough. I've been playing a LOT of Spooky Myers, trying to see if with practice I can actually make him viable on big maps. Mixed results so far, but the long and the short of it is Spooky Myers has to camp a lot. He isn't fast enough to run down Survivors in a big map and doesn't loop well at all. So I'm usually never far from the hook. I'm at least close enough to keep eyes on it via wall hack.

  • I've seen that becoming more and more common too. I just kind of shrug and go about my business. When the person they are under sacs out, it won't be any trouble to pick them up.

  • If his speed started at 110% he might be able to work better on the larger maps. Mostly it is just his add ons that need work. One of his Ultra Rare is never used (Tombstone) except as a joke. The truth is I only ever use the Scratched Mirror, Boyfriends Memo, Tombstone Piece, J.Myers Memorial, Bow Tie, Judith's Journal, and the Fragrant Tuft of Hair. None of the others EVER get used, and of this list I don't use half of them hardly ever. I think his base power is fine, but I do think his stuff needs tweaking.

Just because you succeed with a killer doesn't make them strong. That would be like otz saying trapper is s tier because he succeeds with him often

I didn't say he was strong or OP. I said her performs very well on these maps and I'd hate to see him go. I'm trying to learn to play this build on other maps too. Got my first 3K on McMillian with Spooky Myers (very hard). It would have been a 4K except they disconnected.

  • Yeah, I've been pulling mostly to all Red Ranks for the last few days. I'm mediocre at best. I learn what I can but when the gap is that big it is hard. On top of that I doubt I provide them much fun.

Sounds like you take things more seriously than you should. As I said, there are bad apples and good apples, there are people that stream with TTV in their name with no intention to be toxic towards the killer, just to have fun and play the game while also interacting with their community. Is it such a rare thing nowadays?

Learn to play around a mori and live with it? Sure, I have more than 500 hours so I'm more than well acquainted with moris and learnt to deal with them with a big "Sigh" as I continue to play the match... Do I absolutely hate moris? Yes... Just as match as Keys

My failures? My rank? Are you psychic or something that you know what rank I am, or what my failures are or even know me as a person to judge me in such a way?

That's my bad. I confused you with the OP. You see that? I made a mistake and owned up to it. I do the same thing when I get the Mori used on me. It is part of the game. We can agree to disagree; there is no harm in that. I don't like the game reduced to just brute force math, particularly with the spread of 2nd Chance Perks. It would get boring and take all the mystery and danger out of it.

So I kind of stopped playing on PC for around a year or two, and simply played on PS4. Mostly because I was having graphic and frame rate issues and wasn't sure how to fix it. I recently managed to fix it (Go Me~) But here is my experience playing as both Killer and Survivor at rank 20-15.

Survivor - Everyone is crouch walking...Let's run in front of their face and hop on a gen. They are still crouch walking or just regular walking to the gen I'm already working on. I guess that's fine let's just knock this out! The gen explodes...okay then. I'll wait for the killer and take chase...killer refuses to chase me and chases the other person who goes down in two seconds somehow. Killer camps them or tunnels them until death. Rince and Repeat until it's a hatch match, because gens don't get done. When I finally get in a chase...it lasts for 4 minutes or so, no gens get done, and when I get on the hook the killer actually doesn't tend camp me/tunnel me much. But I don't get saved until at least second state, because the other survivors are crouching in a corner somewhere. Luckily I've pipped every game regardless of winning or losing...but it's a pretty horrible experience.

Killer - These survivors...run in a straight line as soon as they get chased....and any stealth killer I play I pretty much can just grab them off the gen because they don't look around. Against Myers they tea bag when I stand there and look at them instantly giving me Tier 2-3. I now know why the survivors go down in two seconds. Some survivors also like to crouch behind something after they break line of sight for half a second not realizing that they make noise hurt, or that their scratch marks lead me right to them. The survivors also tend to go to second state often despite not camping them or being close to the hook at all. And others kill themselves quite early. This doesn't happen as often when I'm playing survivor. Maybe because I'm quick to go for the save if I can.

I'm enjoying the smooth frame rate. But man these first 10-20 games are rough experiences. Killer side being way too easy, and survivor side being a slaughter fest. @~@

Don't worry. It turns around pretty quickly. The game is certainly Killer weighted at the start, but it gets Survivor weighted once they figure a few basic things out.

I am too late , he deleted the video. Could anyone find a backup? =))

Sorry? I didn't think about it or I might have made a copy. I figured since he through it up there to humiliate himself, there wouldn't be any reason for him to take it back down. The horses are already out of the barn. Who knows, perhaps someone else has a backup though.

So what if moris have been around a long time? That doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with them. Devs are reworking both moris and keys and that's all that matters.

I've no doubt, but the DEV are always working on something. That means we might see a change next Patch or might see it next year (or never). You assume they are going to rework the Mori in a way you would like. I make no such assumption. I've learned in a very short time that trying to predict what the DEV will do is kind of a pointless venture. We will see it when we see it.

I expect the Mori will remain with us and will still be effective in its role as a Mori. But that has no bearing on people who WHINE constantly. The buck stops with us as Players. I watched that game. With or without the Mori that game was lost (and lost badly). It happens. Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat. Those are words to live by. Coming here to complain about it doesn't reflect on the Mori. It reflects on the person who can't take responsibility for their own loss.

Ever heard of streaming out of fun or a hobby buddy? To maybe interact with other people or friends ? I know people who stream for friends only but they don't mind when other people come and hang out...

Also pls teach me how to read people's mind from the other side of the screen or the god damn continent.... Just because some apples are bad, that doesn't mean all of them are...

Well, if that is the case, perhaps find a different game? For someone so potent of Rank you seem to whine a lot. Yesterday I pulled nothing but SWF and most of them were mostly or ALL in the Red. Did they take it easy on me? No. Did I cry about it? No. I felt bad I didn't give them a better challenge. You should be ashamed. Even I wouldn't have fallen for that trap, and I'm nowhere near your Rank.

Quit trying to blame your own failures on other Players or the Game. We all learn to live and play around the Mori. And I expect if it wasn't the Mori, you would be whining about something else. If you are going to stream (or post) Man Up a bit because you are making a terrible impression.

At least I would know how to play against him on this map. Maybe it is just the overall potatoness of survivors. Everyone says The game is weak for him, but this is actually my favourite map for it, because you get quick information on where every survivor is due to map size.

And that is the point on Midwhich, the map is way bigger. and to get up, you need to walk to the edges of the map, which is horrible with 105%. And as I said, I'm pretty sure when playing against him on that map, I don't think I could be jumpscared. Only thing is, that currently I would not know about a super safe healing spot, that all the other indoor maps have (like the top floor in the main room of Lerys, the big vault drop on Game or almost each catwalk in Hawkins)

Well, I do always take Play With My Food, and that helps offset. By in large there is no safe healing spot against Spooky Myers on that map. He only needs to move a bit either way to find someone at the extreme edge. I also take out all the breakable walls as fast as possible. Since I'm invisible to Aura Reading stuff, that doesn't give me away to anyone with Alert. I shutdown Kindred. About the only thing that is a pain is Spine Chill. And the nature of the map makes it fun to do mind games with them. They know I'm looking at them but they don't know if I'm on the same level as them (or where) so you can just keep them running around and off Generators and Totems merely by Stalking.

Spooky Myers performs very well in the Meat Packing Plant, Lerys, Hawkins, Midwich, and the Swamp. He performs adequately on most of the Cold Wind Farms maps by learning to use the middle. He struggles a bit on the Temple of Purge, and is downright hard on the Auto Wreckers and McMillian Estates. The common thread is the wide open, large map with tons of looping options.
