I just want to take screenshots of Felix getting Mori'd in different ways while wearing different clothing and hairstyles....

No one will give this to me...how come???

Mostly because you seem into it, and because if you aren't pulling your weight for the other Survivors, i.e. just jumping in to get killed, the Killer probably doesn't want to reward that behavior.

Well, getting prestige is free and this thing is not. I won't buy it, but it's funny to see how they trying to fool ppl. I laughed hard when i saw that in store decided to share it there. All i wanted is to show that and prevent players from buying this scum.

    >I get what you are saying, but they wouldn't have it up there if there wasn't someone wanting to buy it, i.e. have a choice between the two. Why complain about the company giving you more options rather than less?

Having more options of cosmetics is good but not when they are the same. No one is happy when all you see is recolors when they just releases character (original ones) but many people buy this one new outfit that comes with the recolors as well. And it's good when this cosmetic is completely unique. In this case, the character is licensed and all outfits cost real money and you expect them to be unique bc Steve and other licensed survivors/killers have not that many clothes. But instead of creating something good BHVR just tried to scum us and they did it pretty good. People pay money for that bc they want to have different options, really different but not just dirty pants from other outfit, it's not fair.

I want to mention that i don't complain about that. At the end, everyone are capable to decided themselves what to buy or not

Part of the issue is that the character is licensed. That is probably all they got permission to do. You will notice that trend with most of the licensed characters, except for Ghostface because of the lucrative relationship the have with the costume company. My point, which I didn't make clear enough is that their offering a set of the same jeans, only dirty, does no damage to ANYONE. It is just an uninspiring option. It is still better than nothing. You complained to complain. You weren't injured by this, nor was anyone else. That is the problem on this Forum; complaining and looking for something to complain about has become a sport.

is it a good idea to use object of obsession on solo? Or am I crazy for thinking this?

If you want to, you do you. It is a hard Perk to master, and I wouldn't advise it myself as most people who use it just die. :)

Some of the posts on here are made very clearly they want a significant change to the game such as a nerf to tunneling and camping (I am not going to call them out).

These posts are made by either people who want to make people upset and confuse them, or are just a noob who just got face camped to death by a bubba in the basement while his teammates tbagged him.

I don't want to completely insult people, but there are some posts on here that make me lose IQ at an alarming rate and I question how they wrote that and thought it would be good. There is no way anyone is that dull (maybe), so I think it is safe to say that there are tons of posts like this just to upset people. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if people already knew this, I just wanted to speak out on this.

PS: If you do find some of these posts, don't feed the fire please. If you must say something keep it brief and simple.

I love how diplomatic you are and how you completely manage to avoid using the term "trolling" and don't feed the "trolls" while saying exactly that. Kudos. Me, I'm more direct.

######### is that? Did you guys even try to make it different besides using dirt and other shoes?

Update: shoes are the same actually, my bad

Well, not to toot too obvious a horn, but just don't buy it? I suspect there MIGHT be someone out there who wants dirty jeans, and this would be the cosmetic for them. I don't understand the thirst for any cosmetics really. People go through Prestige just so they can cover their outfits in blood. And as for different, just how different do you think one pair of jeans is going to look from another?

I get what you are saying, but they wouldn't have it up there if there wasn't someone wanting to buy it, i.e. have a choice between the two. Why complain about the company giving you more options rather than less?

They only seem to care about your wallets these days :(

It depends on who YOU mean by the "community" because this Forum is "a" community, i.e. one mostly of misfit toys. The actual DbD community is much larger and oblivious or apathetic to this Forum. The actual community spends more time playing the game than talking (or complaining) about it. They do pay attention to those guys, i.e. like any business they are driven by sales. This Forum, and weird community, is just a Fun House mirror that distorts things. Or you could think of it as a drain filter at the bottom of your shower. Most of the water goes about its way to do its thing where it should be going. The nasty stuff, hair and the like, gets stuck in the drain where you can see it an be annoyed by it. That is us.

  • There are so many pointless, redundant threads on this Forum. I'm going to boil it down for you:

    1. There are no sides, not Killer and not Survivor. We are all playing the SAME game, and most of us play both roles.
    2. You do you. Bring whatever you want. Your builds are your own business.
    3. Nobody important really cares. Ignore the voices quacking in the dark on this Forum. They are the minority.

And here are the only three rules you should follow:

    1. Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
    2. Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
    3. Be humble in victory and courteous in defeat.

Forums like this are a Fun House Mirror, the distort everything and create a false impression of who the community is and what they want. The vast MAJORITY of people who play this game don't post or read posts here. So nothing you read here (including my little rants) has any value whatsoever. Just play the game, have fun, and if you aren't able to do that... move on.

The issue is, that he can be seen cross map as long as survivors know what to look for. Crotus, Autohaven, and Coldwind are bad maps for this reason.

Most Killers have bad maps. I play Myers, and those are all rough maps on me too. The Wraith is at least harder to see coming than my tall dark and featureless.

swf wont be able to give away your position as easily because you wont be visible unless they are close to you

spine chill will work on wraith regardless of what they do to him because thats just how the perk works against stealth killers

it is VERY much so the distortion that gives him away, you can literally see him across the map like only cover prevents you from seeing him so this combined with swf always gives you position which this buff greatly lessens.

this literally addresses what you say it wont and as said nothing can be done about spine chill as it works like that against all stealth killers. will this make him be able to deal with swf maybe not but its buff that will help him without making him op. it helps get surprise hits and makes him a true fast stealth killer.

Look, I'm not that invested in this issue. I think it is a fruitless pursuit that even if you convinced them to do it, it would have negligible effect on games. The issue is this is yet another coding thing we are asking them for and I know from personal experience that what we THINK should be an easy fix often turns out to be a massive job. There are far too many other things that need addressing, when Wraith isn't actually in that bad a place. There are things I'd love for my Myers. I think his SILLY Stomping steps and breathing can be heard far too loudly and early. I learned to live with it. :) It isn't worth asking them to change when there are bigger fish to fry.

I understand that you are invested in the Wraith. That is why I'm pointing out that I also have things I'd love for Myers (my investment) but I want to put into perspective that there are other options. Big open maps are a challenge to you. Sure.... it might be one of those few times the Wraith has to try to use terrain when he can too. It means you might have to play against type. I have those maps also. I kind of think, and this is just my opinion, that there should be maps and situations that put us out of our comfort zone. Do you think I like pulling a big empty map when I'm playing Spooky Myers? :) It happens all the time. Someone blocks my Map offering, or their offering wins the coin toss. The Myers abides, so can the Wraith.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1711621#Comment_1711621

I play him pretty often at high ranks and really the only times i can get land an uncloaking hit besides in a chase is if they are on a gen that has very limited line of sight like the ones in jungle gyms. if a gens in the open you can't sneak up on people they just go to a pallet when you try to approach. this wouldn't change how often you get hits on gens with limited line of sight by that much its mainly to give survivors less information on his location so he can be more unpredictable and so he can have more reasonable chases when approaching survivors in the open.

also you have to take those stats with a grain of salt since wraith is the most picked killer in lower ranks and killers often tend to dominate those ranks as well. he isn't good at high rank unless you get an indoor map and even then he isn't OP. As said this will simply make him better in open maps.

I'm just not sure he needs to be any better. Let's be honest, it isn't his distortion that is really giving him away. It is Spine Chill and the SWF. All the Stealth Killers are feeling this impact more and more. Remember, I'm a Myers exclusive Killer until I hit Rank-1. I prefer Spooky Myers as my build. The biggest issue I have to overcome is Spine Chill and the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms). Even if you did shrink the range that the Wraith's distortion becomes visible, it wouldn't help you against anyone but the POOR Solos who don't need another anvil dropped on their head. :) How do I know this? I play Solo Que, we few, we proud, we determined to play the game without Seal Team-6 Coordination. :)

The SWF will still give them your position. Spine Chill will still tell them the second you line up and they will start moving. I just think your concern about efficacy in this case is misplaced.

  • I went back and reviewed the Pick/Kill Stats and Wraith is picked about 4% of the time and his Kill percentage is 66.6%. That puts him 10% above the bottom Killer and 10% less than the top Killer. In short, he is part of a very wide middle field. The notion that he is weak or suffering has turned out to be as inaccurate as the idea that the Pig isn't good. She turns out to be doing quite well. People used to tell me my Myers was bad too, but lo' and behold, he isn't.

I just think there is this risk where perception become reality. People say the Wraith is weak and has problems long enough and people start to believe it. The numbers say otherwise. He is fine. I say leave his cool Predator distortion in.

Lmao, do you really think dealing with wraith is tough? What rank are you?

As a Survivor a am perpetually between 7-9 (I got to a 6 once for a few days). I'm a Rank-4 Killer driving for Rank-1. The biggest thing holding back Wraith as a Killer is how Players use him, not his toolkit. I've fought so many Wraiths in the last month it isn't even funny. In my experience, potent or baby Wraiths don't do the same Generator patrols as other Killers. Because of their invisibility, they tend to be a bit more random. They are all over the place because they can afford to be in general. The Wraiths that I fought that did the basics, i.e. regular patrols and taking information Perks made very swift work of us.

How good is he when you hit the Red Ranks? I've nod idea as I'm not a Red Rank Survivor. But I don't judge a Killer on how they perform at the very top of the pyramid. I judge them on how they do middle of the pack. The recent numbers released didn't show the Wraith doing that badly at all, no where NEAR the bottom.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

So i have seen a few buffs around about making wraith completely invisible while cloaked and i don't really think that's the best however it certainly isn't terrible, in fact the only thing i don't like about it is that it would allow you to get right on top of a survivor without them seeing you so why not solve that with a mechanic similar to Freddy.

if you made it so while cloaked wraith's "glimmer/shine" can't be seen outside of say at least 8 or at most 16 meters i think that would be an awesome buff to him since it would allow him to be a lot more stealthy and he will have an easier time getting close to survivors before they can see him and get to a loop.

He also won't be able to uncloak right on top of you as long as you pay attention but a good wraith will use cover to uncloak behind once he's close to you. this will make him a lot more viable because good survivors won't see him approaching from far away and then go to a loop so he will get more hits from finding survivors on gens.

this wouldn't affect the chase to much either but will make it so you don't know if the wraith is still on you after he cloaks so that will make playing against him a lot more terrifying because you don't know where he went.

Because Wraith can be tough enough to deal with already? :) He is the FASTEST of the Stealth Killers with his Add-On(s), and a Survivor's best defense is to spot him quick to get the maximum head start.

Aye a "game offering" is the jigsaw piece. It sends you to the map "The Game" which I really hate.

Got it. That went over my head at first. I'm not sure why you hate it. That map is so Killer-sided it isn't even funny. :) Survivors that choose it have a death wish to start with. That is my favorite Spooky Myers map.

  • I don't know why bringing a "Map" Offering (I guess that is what you intended to say) means "no mercy," but who am I to judge. You do you. I decide in a match if I want to spare someone or not. I don't have rules ahead of time for it. I base my live or let die on:

    1. Will letting one (or more) go cause me to lose a Pip.
    2. Did they fight the good fight, i.e. do their best.
    3. Are they inappropriate to be fighting me, i.e. compared to me are they still babies.
    4. Did I get tea-bagged or some other nonsense that didn't have a game reason (distraction, etc.)
    5. Do I feel like it.

My point is I'm not going to decide to punish people simply because they make use of the Offerings that the game gives them to use. I know there are some horrible ones, but I'm not going to hate Players for the game's design.

  • I enjoy the game. I tolerate the Forums because every now and then I learn something interesting or meet someone new that is worth my time. By in large, I think the Forum is a waste of the company's resources, as it seems to just fester with bile and angst. A great Web Page, Facebook setting, and Twitter sites to announce things would probably be a better use of their PR time.

  • I would have new Players, i.e. Ranks 12-20 (both Killer and Survivor) go up against Bots to learn their basic Skills. Said Bots would still be there to take over if someone disconnects past these levels, and thus provide some stability to matches that would otherwise be ruined. This extended learning period would at least let the true Newbies get the basics down.

After that initial period is over, I would start cycling them into playing against other Players.

  • @BioX said:

technically you are teaching the killer as well.....

Also what are babies? because personally from experience (3000 hours so far) I say that everyone up to rank 7 is a complete baby.

You are kind of making my point. With 3K hours you should only be playing against other Red Ranks, or perhaps a Purple here and there. You know a Baby when you run into one. Why go out of your way to run into MORE of them? There is a difference between "teaching" and simply destroying people with no opportunity to learn, and/or losing the community potential players. I know for a fact if that Bully Squad I dealt with had had their way, my friend would have walked away from the game in disgust. If that had happened to me when I first started, I might have too. I'm sure I would be a "Baby" if I ran into you (without a doubt). And I would hope that if you somehow ended up playing me and mine you would take that into consideration.

Case in point, the other day I was in a match on Cold Wind and we ran into a Legion Player who was near perfect in movement and application. I've made it to Rank-4 as a Killer and I know this person's real Rank wasn't what we saw at the end of the game. :) This Legion Player worked out on us, practiced, but also (it became apparent to me) let us work Generators and THINK we were doing ok. He didn't farm with us. He was tutoring us. At the end I thanked him and said, "I know you were being nice; thank you." He simply answered. "Yeah, I was." We left it at that. He knew what we were in comparison to him and took it into consideration (or she did... I really don't know the gender).

Ideally, I don't think those match ups should happen. But when they do, it should be an accident, not by some loser's design. More to the point, when it happens, I think proper consideration should take place. I like it when I get that courtesy and I certainly pass it on to others when I'm involved. We all need to take one for the team now and then and teach rather than just game off some newbie's expense.

  • I haven't noticed a difference one way or the other. There are a lot more Console Players (I think) judging by how many of them I pull for matches, but that doesn't seem statistically relevant for them exhibiting any particular behavior MORE.

  • @Raz_ said:

Survivors are not allowed to use DS, unbreakable, OoO etc

but I AM allowed to use insta downs, moris, every single strong perk possible and the reasoning is "im the power role"

so you tell me.. ME who has to deal with

    -potatoe teammates

    -Dedicated servers, hitboxes, bloodlust

-unsafe pallets in every corner, dead ends

-insta downs, moris, strong killer perks

even tho i need to deal with more things then you can imagine its a a.s*ole move when i bring strong perks?

BUT "survivor playing is so easy LMAO TROLOLOL"

yeah its very easy especially when you get dedi hits in every corner. go play soloQ with potatoes and lets meet again.

you dont want people to complain about your noed and mori then you also shouldnt complain about some solo survivors bring some perks to survive longer because they dont wanna get tunneled at the beginning of the match.

I don't care what Perks Survivors use; that is none of my business. Just because a few vocal whiners vent on this Forum doesn't mean most Killers are upset or even care what you choose to use. You do you.

  • @BioX said:

Lets make sure we have a distinction here, people like to play this game with friends, when they got a friend that just bought the game to play it with them you are going to have these rank disparities but there is no ill will associated with it.

Also the matchmaking rarely means that you go against absolute babies anyway

I disagree. There is a knowing malice in it. 1) Babies are absolutely being matched with Red Rank Survivors. I just watched it six times in a row last night. And in every case it was one of these SWF put together with that purpose in mind. Statistically, six games in a row is not a fluke. And playing with your friends is fine, but if you are a High School Student playing Dodge Ball with kids in Kindergarten, you aren't REALLY supposed to play. You are teaching, nothing more. If you do more, you are jerk.

  • @Solomonkane said:

As someone who is usually purple/red ranks and sometimes plays with friends who are rank 20-16, it's not my intention to "smurf" to bully low level killers. I just want to play with friends who are new to the game.

Matchmaking is the overall problem, it should either find a middle ground for ranking or pull from the highest ranked player in the swf.

I don't begrudge anyone wanting to play with their friends but surely you know that a single Red Rank Player can run a baby Killer into the ground without breaking a sweat, even 1v1. I'm hoping that YOU aren't doing this and are simply hanging with your friends and teaching them the game and not making life miserable for new Players who are trying to learn. Do you see my point?

I play with my friends all the time. I fluctuate between being a Rank 7-9 Survivor and when I play I do my best to not take advantage of the fact that my friends are much newer. In fact, I often make sure I'm a kill. Because, in essence, I'm taking advantage of a loophole that shouldn't be there. Mostly I'm seeing Smurfing done for Bully Squads, people wanting to Stream (this is really disgusting), and simply to get one's jollies against easier targets.

  • Follow Up: So I kept watching and saw a "Bully Squad" load into the lobby. There was no mistaking it, but I watched the game start. *It did turn out to have a Rank-3, some Rank-8s, and I think a 9. They were all decked out with Head On and clearly weren't there to play the game either. They lured my friend, a new Player, into the Killer shack and started the alternating Head On stun attacks. They made no attempts at Generators or to leave the Shack. They were having a good old time.

I asked my friend to tap me in; he obliged. I will be putting the video up on Youtube sometime this week. This kind of behavior is terrible for the game. What they expected was to beat up on a newbie. What they got was a "total party kill" with two of them dead on hooks in the basement and the others went by Mori. I don't have a sense of humor about bad sportsmanship or idiotic creeps. I won't always be there to tap in when I'm introducing and teaching my friends the game, but you can bet that if I am available and I see that nonsense, I'm going to let you play against a Killer in your own weight class and make it as humiliating as possible.

Get some self respect, manners, and play at your own level.

  • @NursesBootie said:

We used the wrong tactic as a community guys. We removed the OoO users as fast as possible from our matches to teach them not to use the perk.

From now on we need to let every OoO user escape. Every single one.

The devs mentioned they decided to not nerf OoO, because the escape rates are low and they also considered the fun factor.

So if we all bump up the escape numbers, they may nerf it? Is that the way?

How about... no. Why don't we pull together and deal with the disease, not the symptom. Let's work on getting Solo and Team Ques separated. The problem isn't OoO. The perk has been around forever. The problem is SWF. Broken into separate ques, different balancing triggers could kick in, like say perhaps a cool down on the power.

  • The state of play is not Survivor-sided; it is SWF-sided.

  • @GamingBrix said:

Matchmaking needs to change to how many hours you have in the game, and your player level.

There are too many killers going AFK to remain at rank 20. I'm trying to learn how to play survivor at the moment, but can't get out of rank 15 because I get matched with these types of killers. For example, a rank 20 Spirit or Freddy, with full tier 3 meta perks and add-ons. Just so they can get easy 4 kills against inexperienced survivors. The next match they will AFK, de-pip, and just keep repeating that process.

Sadly there is nothing that can be done about this kind of crass, impotent nonsense. There are plenty of ways to Rank oneself down (if that is the weird goal) and there is no logistical way to police it. Sure the DEV could put in a monitor to track people who are afk, but then the Killer would just move about a bit to get the same result. There is no way to tell bad play from purposely sandbagging oneself, or at least there is no logistical way.

In the end, people who purposely knock themselves down so they can slaughter newbies have something seriously wrong with them. I don't see how they could get much satisfaction from it, as every down and every kill would just be a reminder to me that I wasn't good enough for the REAL game.

Nice Myers is a favorite of mine but at Rank 1 I'm just not viable with him as I can't get 4k's as often as I like with him. What about his play style draws you to him?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1707831#Comment_1707831

I agree purple is more casual and let's you use more fun builds which is probably where I'll be trying to stay once reset hits. It's not worth it being rank 1 more than once as there is no real reward for being rank 1.

I was drawn to him because he is the Godfather of the entire slasher genre, and thus the patron saint of this game. I'm a huge fan of the original movie, and so when I decided to play DbD, I knew I was going to stick with him until I got him to Rank-1. I also picked him because he is listed as "Hard" because he does have a learning curve. It isn't as steep at the Nurse, but it ain't easy. I figure if I can get to Rank-1 with him, then the Killers I learn next should come easier. In regards to his playstyle:

    1. I love Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo). I like mind games and working the jump scares. Naturally it is more effective on the smaller, indoor maps, but I've played him so much in this build now I've been able to get consistent wins on larger maps.
    2. I enjoy Maniac Myers (Any Build which can hit Tier-3) because of the options. Right now, I'm experimenting with the Dead Rabbit+Hair Bow along with the Perks Undying, Ruin, Monitor & Abuse, & Iron Maiden. Most people start jumping in Lockers to let a Maniac Myers run out the Insta-Down clock. Thus, when they come out I get a notification and some more Insta-down as a nasty surprise. The Dead Rabbit and Monitor & Abuse give me a zero terror radius even in Tier-2 when not in a chase. *Sometimes I throw in a Fragrant Tuft of Hair but when I do I don't bother with the Iron Maiden and replace it with Thrill of the Hunt.

I guess what I like most about him is that you can drastically alter how he plays. His add-on(s) don't just make him better at what he does, they completely rework him. That interests me.

Burger king Myers is the Vanity mirror with the Tombstone Piece, lowering your movement speed to 89% with no upside.

This build is a hell of a lot better I can assure you.

Hrm. To me any Myers carrying that damn Tombstone on his back is a Burger King Myers. I agree with you about it being a great build. I just don't think the speed loss of the Tombstone is something I can risk where I am right now. I will try it out soon enough though. :)

Just curious to how long it took new players to reach rank 1 of in game time. Mainly interested in killers but survivor mains feel free to post your times aswell.

Well, I can't claim to be an savant like the "TheButcher" in this thread, but I've managed to get my Myers to Rank-4 on the cusp of Rank-3 in one and 2/3's of a month. I'm driving to reach Rank-1 by Halloween. I probably won't make it, and if I do it will be by the skin of my teeth. I play fairly often and I'm a pretty determined guy. There are easier Killers to Rank with, however, so I might not be the best one to judge the timing by.

Wait, so the new Halloween skins were released then BHVR lowered the price late after release?

    OOF that sucks.

Well it wasn't some dastardly plan or anything like that. They were trying, on the fly, to come up with something to give back while still keeping an eye on their bottom line. So they reworked the event to give us lots of BP and Shards, and reduced the cost in Shards for the new Skins. The only unconsidered aspect of this was the people who had immediately bought the Skins unaware how rapidly they would come on sale.

A lot of people, conspiracy theorists mostly, think this was some sort of dirty trick, when it was simply a reaction to the community response. I fully expect those people who paid full price to get some sort of compensation once the company figures out a win/win way to do it. People just don't have any patience anymore, and want to play the victims and scream at the first opportunity.

    Strategy

Find as survivor as soon as the match starts. You'll need to stalk the equivalent of 2 full survivors and half of another to get your Evil to tier 3. Getting stunned will allow you to quickly earn PWYF tokens thanks to Nemesis so don't be afraid of pallets. All this is the usual strat when using insta-kill Myers.

Now the fun part. Once in Evil tier 3 find a gen with a decent amount of progress, which shouldn't be hard since survivors will try to gen rush you anyway, and kick it.

    Did you know?

That killing people with Michael doesn't deactivate Trail of Torment? Now you do!

This allows you sneak up on a survivor, kill them, and start searching for the next since you remain Undetectable.

And you scarcely have to worry about a survivor touching the generator you kicked since, although it's highlighted yellow, who the hell would willingly go near the area that an instant-kill, zero-terror radius, Michael Myers is near?

That has quickly become my new favorite build on Michael. Although it still suffers from the usual problems of running both of Michaels iridescent add-ons. Mainly the super slow movement speed you have when the match starts. It's an unbelievable amount of fun once it gets going.

    Give it a try!

It sounds like a hell of a twist on Burger King Myers.... but it is still Burger King Myers. :) I'll try this when I'm not trying to get to Rank-1. If I played the King against the Red Rank SWF I face all the time, I'd get slaughtered.

  • I was in the Old West against a Clown this morning. This guy was a monster. He seemed to be every where at once. He got us down to the last two and decided that he was a bit out of our league and let us farm.

Then I'm here wishing I could get a Dwightcrow, probably running from you.

If I see a Streamer giving out codes.... I'll post. Keep an eye on the Forum. I got mine because someone gave me a head's up.

Just wanted to know what everyone's thinking about Halloween this year, what you wish was different, that kind of stuff.

I'm having fun; it mixed up the normal games just a bit. Could it have been more extravagant? Sure. But I have no complaints. I dig my Dwrightcrow. I love my Blighted Jack for my Myer's hooks.

I disagree with you. If you watch the video i posted at exactly 3:40 and again at 3:48 you can see her health bar appear at the bottom of the screen. I was purposefully trying to see the healthbar, I expected it to be 99%, but.. it wasn't. She was crawling around the entire time i was chased and when I had the chance to run over her body, she wasn't ready to be picked up. So to say that you assessed that i was going to ditch the team and was trying to go for a hatch when myers was no less than 2 feet behind me the entire time is nuts lol - I was running for my life and had he stopped to break that pallet, i was going to make a dash for the hooks, but they didn't break the pallet so I couldn't. I'm new to posting vids, I gotta figure out how to get the software to block out names.

I missed that, but then again I was watching it while working. Yeah... always cut the names or blur them. I learned that the hard way myself. Given that you all died anyway, and the odds were really bad against you ANYWAY... you would have gotten more points just unhooking one of them just for the heck of it. To be honest, the moment three were down, you were done. The hatch was your only hope. When that happens to me, I just put my head down and go Kamikaze. I say, "I'm not getting out alone. Somebody is coming with me or I'm not getting out either." Oddly enough that attitude has led to some saves and getting the hatch or gate from Killers who respected the effort.

Again, I'm not judging you. I think you played fine. I'm just saying, it probably looked TERRIBLE from their perspective. The Salt was unnecessary and wrong though.

  • As a Myer's player, it hurt me to watch Mikey not breaking the pallet in that last loop... for so long. I abhor bad sportsmanship and thus I do not approve of the Salt they gave you after the game. That being said, you should put yourself in their shoes. From their perspective you didn't ever try to get them off the hook or pick them off the ground. Did you have opportunities? Yes. You made the calculation that it was too risky. I suppose you had decided to let them all die and go for the hatch. You had an option to pick the slugged one up while Mikey broke the pallet and you were right next to her. I'd be willing to bet she was recovered to the point where a second is all that would have taken. The two that died on hook, well, let's be honest there were lots of times when you could have given it a shot.

I'm not judging you. I'm just being honest. I'm sure your assessment was the safe bet, but I'm also sure from their point of view it looked like you wrote them off pretty early in the game. So, bad on them for being Salty beyond good sportsmanship. I say, "if you can't say anything nice... say nothing at all." I do have sympathy for them though, and I don't think you are supposed to show their names on the Forum. It is called "naming and shaming." I've done it and it will get you a warning (and rightly so).

  • Myers is my own Killer, and exclusive until I hit Rank-1. Thus, I am most frightened as a Survivor when I drop into "The Game" or "Hawkins" map and I haven't heard a heartbeat within the first minute. Then I know I'm dealing with a Stealth Killer. What is worse, I start to suspect (particularly if the map was the Killer's choice) that I'm dealing with my own Alter-Ego, the Spooky Myers (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo). I don't breath a sigh of relief until I'm proven wrong, and even though I just KNOW it is Mikey I still jump when he intercepts me and jumps out from around a corner to get me.

  • Your actions don't match your words. If you are tired of everything, why are you reading every single post remotely related to the event and splashing them with your irritation. That doesn't sound like someone who is tired; it sounds like someone who is trying to stir up a fight. This person went out of their way to help others. If you can't say something nice, try saying nothing at all. If you want stir up a fight, I'm your huckleberry. However, I would suggest (and I mean this honestly and in a friendly way) that you take a step back, a deep breath, and let things rest. At the very least, go vent in appropriate threads.

but give us the price difference back don't should make them lost anything

shards can't be bought with money.... is just a imaginary currency earned by playtime...

it's just be nice with with the players who buy them more expensive for no reason...

Personally (and NO I do not have any insider knowledge... I don't work for the company) I feel that the people who did buy them will get it addressed one way or another. Patience is a virtue.

Ditto what Mikeasaurus said. I appreciate you taking the time and posting a heads up for people still trying to get one. I play Myers exclusively so I'm kind of stoked to have the Blighted Jack and Dwightcrow hanging on my hooks. Seems appropriate.

The sheer amount of time I have to waste for a chance to get one doesn't make it free. Its there to trigger FOMO out of people and improve Twitch viewing numbers to make it appear like DbD is doing better than normal.

Hrm. I just saw someone post here on the Forum when a Streamer was doing it. I went over and watched for about ten minutes and got one. I sometimes think some of you make things sound like they are tougher than they are in reality.

  • I suspect they are contractually obligated to pay some costs for every sale, so a refund would put them upside down. That is an unreasonable request. However, I do feel, given the odd situation and timing (as well as reason) for the sale that those who made this purchased should be compensated with some other cosmetics (of their choice) of equal value to make up the difference. That would seem to be a win/win for both those who purchased before the sale, and the company.

    Its a charm. Who cares?

I cared, and I got one. It is a pretty cool charm. And it was free!

No thats not true, a Killer has the Survivors and BHVR to blame for their loses.

Anyway I understand the whole "team" thing though in Solo queue there is not a team, more of an alliance of convenience also it wont stop the feeling of injustice NOED brings but as I said playing conservative in a trial last throes usually saves me from it so its been a long time since the last time it affected me.

No, with all due respect, they don't. Killers have only themselves to blame for their failures. They delude themselves when they try to scapegoat their opponents or the company. :)

  • @HectorBrando said:

My main problem with NOED as Solo player is the fact that even if I cleansed half the totems, manage to avoid the Killer, juked him and actually did a good job if Im the one who is chasing when the 5º gen activates Im going down and it feels super unfair, I did my part and my teammates did not, why Im being punished for their lazyness?.

In the end since cleansing all 5 totems as Solo is almost impossible, unless the Killer is already using other Hexes, my main counterplay is playing extremely conservative when the last gen is close to activate so the one who ends hit with NOED is someone else, then open gates and get away asap unless I manage to see the totem on my way out to the gates, Its cowardice? yes but as I said many times on endchat, "I did my job, Im not going down for you".

I think the best way to rework NOED would be similar to DH but in inverse, a Hex that activates when all gens are done and is stronger the more totems there are (counting Hexes), with 5 it could be much more stronger than it is now to punish gen rushers harshly, with only 1 left it could be tamer so it does compensate Survivors for doing the totems but missing one.

Because it isn't a 1v1 game. It is a 4v1 game and that means your greatest strength (numbers) is also your greatest weakness. Take solace in the fact that you can blame others for your losses and have a leg to stand on. The teams of Survivors are only as strong as their weakest link. A Killer has no one to blame but him/herself.

Yo, there is tons of threads in there about tunneling and camping, and how it's legitimate strategy and nothing wrong with that. Lately more posts stating, that it becomes more frequent so I just wanted to share a thought.

I'm, or I see someone else being tunneled ridiculously often. Few days back then I stumbled upon guy with steam profile description along the lines of "I'm camping, tunneling and I don't care what you whiners call me, I'm playing for my fun and I'm not gonna stick to your rules"

So, considering how majority of players thinks it's legit and ok, I feel like I actually should join them in that. I started playing game mostly as killers, so assume I'm killer main (more like 75/25 killer/surv), and apart maybe from the time I was learning the game I wasn't tunnelling consciously, unless guy ran straight onto me.

Recently I started playing surv more often, because I'm playing with friend. Due to constant camping and tunneling I just feel like there is no fun in playing surv, so I'm quitting this side, but I'm thinking about going back to killing. And not the nice guy killer. I've turned bitter, and as I said I feel like joining in what most of killers are doing rn, tunneling and camping. Like, sort of strike against BHVR. If they said themselves it's not reportable or anything, I'm gonna camp/tunnel people all the time, hoping they'll stop playing. Maybe if number of survs/players plummet, they'll address this type of playing somehow.

Honestly I doubt it, simply looking at forum, seeing threads about keys, moris, perks, addons being unbalanced and so for so long (at least now they admitted they are "looking into" keys and moris, and actually changed few perks for what it's worth)but imma give it a shot anyways.

Summarizing I'm just gonna repeat what most of you already know, that devs' priorities are BS, releasing new dlcs and skins, without focusing primarily on fixing old content, changing graphics instead of game mechanics and working on balance. Honestly I'm keeping my fingers crossed for people quitting DBD, at least till Devs notice people want to play polished game and not get new cosmetics instead.

Cheers and have a great day.

A few points, if I may:

    1. You cannot "strike" against the company unless you are in their employ. You are suggesting a boycott.
    2. We have all been where you are now, and somehow got through it.
    3. This is not an effective way of getting the company to listen to you. The "us versus them" mentality rarely goes well.
  • I thought about my previous answer, and I think I might have been hasty. I'm not that capricious. I looked back through my videos to see who I tend to let go. If there are early disconnects and some people stay and fight the good fight, I often let one or both go. If the game is really hard fought and the last person really stood out to me (for whatever reason) I tend to let them go. In other words, if someone loops me for 2+ minutes I don't get mad at them. I am impressed. If I finally down them, and they are the last, I generally let them go.

Right now I'm in a desperate race to become a Rank-1 Killer by Halloween, playing ONLY Michael Myers. It is hard to put into words how difficult it is to do with that limitation. This does cut into my generosity because I'm in the Red Ranks now and it is a fight just to stay even, rather than lose a Pip. Thus, my generosity is mostly on hold.

  • I'd like to see Krampus released around Xmas, either the traditional one.... or the one from the movie Krampus (by the same guy who did Trick R Treat). Heck, I'd love a Trick 'R Treat DLC. I'd consider that gift enough.
