So if you're in a bad mood finish the game and then do something else. You're just putting everybody else in a bad mood with you.
like i said man i dont care about others fun until A. bad killer chases me and they lose, then i apologize and wish them the best and B. when im playing killer and someone quits or someone gets screwed over. when i wanna leave ill leave and i think lots of people should prioritize their own fun before prioritizing others
-
@dugman said:
FYI as a killer when I have a survivor obviously trying to get me to chase them it immediately tells me that if I ignore that person and switch to someone else who is on gens I'll be keeping two survivors off the gens with a single chase. And if things go right I'll be able to down the one who was doing the gens, slug them, and immediately THEN chase and down the survivor who was following me, giving me two survivors in the dying state simultaneously.
Also quitting because the killer didn't chase you is pretty disrespectful to the other survivors, you're throwing the game for them too.
welp as i said, i care more about my mood and mental state than someone elses fun. and yesterday my mental state was completely drained
-
@Gary_Coleman said:
I disagree. If this game was boring you wouldn't still play it.
ha! well i do, because huntress is fun and so is being chased, when all youve been doing is sitting on gens it gets VERY boring. but before you try and say im wrong pay attention closely to HOW i worded my statement instead of generalizing
-
@Jasix said:
You know what's even more boring - teammates who kill themselves on the hook or quit the match.
welp, too bad i guess. Because i care about my fun more than anyone elses and if i get to a point where dbd drains me mentally and is ruining my mental state why the heck would i stay just so other people can play? if i was having a bad match and WASNT suffering i would stay for sure
-
welp old billy was even more unengaging with bamboozle and people still would run it. i understand because i mained billy on console without bamboozle and good survs easily abuse those windows but still man its like 90 percent run it and i hate perks that are always used
-
@Marik1987 said:
Its relatively easy:
Survivors must repain gens, thats their main goal. They can heal, they can unhook, they can flashlight-save, they can work with boons.
So, as a killer, you can use perks who make healing harder, which makes flashlights useless, but at the end, what u have to protect, are the gens.
If survivors have to repain 4 gens and clanse 4 totems, then u wont run only Gen-Defense (+ a bit of chase).
well i really hope chase isnt a requirement then so many killers will ruin bamboozle
-
@Carth said:
Every killer perk you listed was nerfed in some way in the upcoming patch(minus DMS,but it's synergy with pain resonance is no longer a thing)
yeah i was told but i guess i missed that part
-
@TheArbiter said:
If someone is using ruin as their gen regression perk, they have effectively handed you the W even if it's solo Q
i mean i COULD since i dont kick gens XD
-
@ARTRA said:
Just another point of view.
I play more casual and dont have those regresion perks. So to me that dont have access to those perks may help.
since i play huntress i def use gen regress since it can be hard if you have smart survs and most survs know how to dodge and use los blockers so its definitely useful
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Pain res and dead man switch doesn't work together anymore. Corrupt will be for trap killers and myers. And i don't think anyone is gonna use ruin lol.
oh really?! thats good and corrupt will def be less useful but i was mainly using examples of how everyone feels the need to run it and still will because it will be even stronger
but if they are genuinely nerfing gen regression along with gen speeds then thats good

@Risky_Biscuit said:
NOED is already dead on arrival in this next patch. Now it shows itself to the survivors after a brief period. It's even worse now, and it was already bad since it's a Hex Perk.
Nobody's going to use it after these nerfs go through, as it's a guaranteed totem break for survivors. The whole point of NOED was to force survivors to leave the trial or they'd risk being downed, and while that's still the case technically, it lights up for the survivors now, so there's no doubt that they'll find it and break it before leaving. The risk factor has been severely diminished with this nerf.
bruh... noed easily countered, not too bad to loop if you play smart. but isnt it funny how often people dont do totems? XD like seriously no survivor is gonna be like oh he has noed so let me cleanse totems when everybody is dying and the gens need to be done. bad killers are who survs ASSUME have it and those bad killers give us time. but as a solo player i cant keep track of totems and some are hard to find. but the times you get hooked BY noed mean there is no way to save and with this people wont just waste time or die trying to save you. this perk has given killers kills they didnt deserve. noed lets you move faster and instantly down people and if you decide to slug then welp gg ez. noed is problematic not because its strong all the time but because A. it doesnt work on good teams. B most games do not have good teams. and noed is still hidden unless youre lucky and if youre running around the map for 30 seconds and then youre within 24 meters then you still spend 6 seconds running to the totem and 15 seconds cleansing which is a whole hook stage dang near

his power is situational i get many trials without using his 5 hit, because good players knows to not stack-up or and tank a hit to stun legion out of his power, search for some counterplay videos there are lots of them and you will find one good for your build
the problem is im solo que XD

You will waste A LOT of time with those add-ons to get the fifth hit on most maps. As with every legion game just try to stay as far from them as possible and don't give them free hits. It's also exceptionally hard to get the first hit, so you can actually try to loop them before they get their power off of you.
yeah but thats the thing. it doesnt work that way. we dont know who the killer is and barely anybody is gonna hide from him and for the most part people arent scared of his hits so why wouldnt they give him a free hit when its not important, then bam he uses these add ons and he cant be ran away from. this is just my experience but the absolute duration just needs to be shortened. he shouldnt be able to go cross map on his ability and still have time to chase someone who is prepared

And guess how many survivors don't know how to look behind them in a chase while running in a straight line? I've been playing for over 2 years with nearly 2500 hours as survivor and I still see survivors not doing this all the time. I have argued before that this game needs to fundamentally change. How it plays overall needs to change. Saying the survivors who don't want to "get good" should just quit is not the answer here. Its just not reasonable to expect the majority of survivor mains to play like the top skilled players. Its just not going to happen.
well you dont have to look behind you all the time. i dont and have 2000+ hours. because i run into crap and for the most part i know what killers will do. also yes dh requires skill but not much. what you need to know when and when not to use it? 360 into a dead hard to trick the killer? last second blind to deadhard bait? yeah its not much skill required for a great effect. dh was fun because you could destroy a killer and win the game... but is it an achievement if you dead hard to a pallet?

I'm struggling to think of an experiance like the one's your describing where clown get's these easy hit's at loop's by just throwing alot of bottles or doing a setup. The only one's i can think of are where the survivor sit's at the pallet and let the clown do this unless the clown is playing 3 moves ahead. I've had very different experiance's which is why it's baffling to see someone complain about it being unfun or as difficult to deal with as your making it out to be, then again i find clown fun.
That aside, a 50/50 is what a lot of killer's do or aim to do, you say it's not looping and it's not for survivor as it's something the killer does as there looping, but that would mean killer's like freddy or doctor would fall in this unfun category for you, as they generate the same 50/50 with a generally better power kit as opposed to clown. If your expecting the 50/50's from clown then take the chance they'll double back and leg it after the first vault. Again the only situation's i can think where this would be unfun or problematic is if you stay near the pallet as clown position's themselve's instead of makiing sure you have the distnace to begin with..
If a clown is using there bottle's to put you in these situation's you don't like, that, is skillful. A good clown will have a larger game plan going on and if there getting you as easily as you keep saying then the clown player is skillfful. Other than that, your treating them as a tier 2 myer's or as i said, your too comfortable with your playstyle.
It's possible this is just the one un-fun thing or killer you have with the game, i have my own as do many. But it's not as big of a deal or issue you seem to be making it out to be.
if you can run around a loop against a clown you are either not playing against clown or that clown is dumb and thats the last thing ill say, you seem to think you can use loops on clown when in reality youre too slow to run around and its the same with freddy and doctor you just keep running because he wont catch you depending on loop size so doc is better in my opinion. you can insult me or say that these situations dont happen all you want but its no longer any use talking about this. have a good day

Survivors don't complain about killers (players) that are bad.
Experienced dbd players would understand this.
that logic makes clown good, which isnt true and what you said isnt true. I literally dont like trapper because i hate having to look out for traps and sometimes my brain cant register disarm trap from vault window sooooo yeah not everyone just doesnt complain because killers are bad or weak. there are plenty of things in this game that are annnoying whether they are weak or not

Server validation is and will alway's be an issue that will persist, i wouldn't use it as a reason as to why it's unfun when playing against clown.
The situation you provide is strange, if i could hit a survivor at a pallet and then smack them with a bottle and hit them again before they got to any other resource i'd be on board. You seem to be exaggerating thing's beyond what they are.
The way you describe your playstyle is rather "greedy" in the sense, pushing the chase to the closest moment's. Which is great for the stubborn killer's. Clown's a stubborn killer as are chase killer's, but his power is forcing you to act way earlier and less greedier.
It's quite possible your suffering from, it doesn't really have a term i think but, player-rot. Where you've become to comfortable or have stagnated in the way you play that you start making mistake's. It's quite possible that Clown has brought this out in a sense as you seem to be having trouble with him. It might be a good idea to change your playstyle or take a break from the game/survivor role. If your constantly going against clown and getting into situation's as you described that's something you yourself would need to change in-game.
ok. clown sees you on gen, you start running to a pallet 20 meters away, he hits you with a bottle as you run. you drop the pallet because you cant run around the loop conventionally. he keeps tossing bottles or even using speed to catch you as he runs around 1 loop and refuses to break the pallet. you drop the pallet and he goes around so you vault it and he goes back around and you vault it again. thats a 50/50. its not fun nor is it skillful. if you drop a pallet and the clown goes around after tossing a bottle and you vault youre moving away from the pallet slow enough that you cant make it to another pallet. unless the map is pallet dense. do you see what im saying? this isnt about greed i drop pallets when i need to but im good enough that i can hug loops and go around a loop a few times and deal with mindgames. clown doesnt need to mindgame because you get hindered.

@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/334540/clown-sucks
I wouldn't call it badly made, for what the power is it's well managed. 4 bottles which can be changed for various effect's, a reload that slow's clown down heavily, the bottle's travel time is the slowest projectile in the game, slowdown and a slight disorientation effect that last's 2 seconds (which is only amplified for direct hits's and doesn't stop fast vault's) and a 3 second haste that take's 2-3 seconds to activate. Add-on's are fairly balanced, some would argue, but there effect is at least noticable and provides something for them.
Clown's a M1 killer with a power that denies areas survivor's want to use, placing more than the average pressure on chases in exchange for no other power. It also allow's him to close the distance between those he is chasing without an abiility that is tied into an attack (Billy,Huntress,Nurse). Clown's bottles are limited by line of sight and travel time. Since clown is chase dependent they don't want to commit to a long chase, they are going to want to use all of there bottle's to get this done, it's not a bad design of the power, it doesn't straight up end a chase or win it for a clown and it requires more input from the clown to commit to such action's.
Clown's gas dis-orientation isn't much of a issue, whenever i've gone against a clown i play as if they don't know about it and they never try doing anything with it near high wall's. The dis-orientation is at least better than hag's, you have control of your camera and it's not a guarenteed hit.
As for looping and feeling accomplished, it seem's from the way your talking about it, you feel accomplished when the chase is going overly poorly for the killer (not saying thats the case, just it comes off like that). I personally don't find it fun when the killer's not makiing the chase difficult, clown make's it fun as i have to make generally faster commitment's to the chase. It's a little baffling that, clown, the killer that generally suffer's from dropped pallet's is causing you problem's without breaking them.
simple doing the 50 50 mindgames is horrible i get to a small filler pallet, lets say ormond small rock loops and he bombards me then follows me. the way the game is rn with hits over pallets make it to where even if i choose the right time to vault i get hit at the end of the pallet which doesnt make sense. i cant run away because he will catch me and also not poorly but when the chase has interaction. vaulting a pallet over and over and dropping pallets is not very interactive or skillful. baiting the huntress or billy or bubba to rev or wind up by running back into a pallet then continuing to run and then dropping it next time, thats fun. it shows the prediction and game knowledge skills of each side. why would i enjoy clown counterplay when afrer 2000 hours in the game its the same no matter how good i am? i constantly can learn and use different counterplay to multiple killers and if they lose the chase its not because its unfair. yeah looping a hag who doesnt use traps is pretty unfair and a 4.6 killer as well because once you know how to loop jungle gyms youre guaranteed damn near to waste time. i just hate if i cant loop a killer. predropping is not looping and it is just boring.

Huntress puts you in a situation where if you drop the pallet you get hit with hatchet if you don't put it down you get hit still. Not just with pallets but with vaults.
that is far from the truth

Is there a killer that survivors don't complain about?
just because a killer is weak doesnt mean we cant complain or find issues. hillbilly is fun to go against, very fair killer. but he sucks to go against now because he is less lethal. there you go i just complained about the most loved killer XD
-
@ACleverName4Me said:
Clown is more fun to go against than a huntress. Why? Because if you make it to a loop or pallet he can wind up and hit you with a bottle but it isn't going to down you like a hatchet.
Also he isn't over used by the player base. The day I see more than 1 clown in a row is the day I believe the entity exists in real life. Everyday there's a huntress when I've got WEEKS without seeing a clown.
Clown is best fat man in game.
whatXD huntress doesnt down you if you play smart? you dont drop pallets until she walks through them and clown is best fat man but clown is not fun, he can just blind you and slow you down and then they just do the walk around loop until i catch you strat

Most threads concerning Nurse either consist of "Nerf Nurse" or "You're a baby, Nurse is fine", which causes people to say why they disagree/agree with the OP but at the same time not explain their reasoning as much as they could.
As a result, nobody learns from these discussions, so their opinions don't change- they may even become more cemented. So I want to achieve the exact opposite, and make sure that people can take away valuable knowledge.
So if you don't think Nurse needs nerfs, say why, and how you think survivors should play against her.
If you think Nurse needs nerfs, say why you think so, especially if you think she needs basekit nerfs or even a complete rework.
And please try to be open-minded and civil.
tbh i always defended her... but after playing her and not even playing her for a straight week and all i have to say is... she is easy. i tried playing her on console and ive played a long time, so i know what i have to do with her and playing on pc makes it easier to do those things. its not fair that i can destroy a deadhard swf with no add ons and just because i play nurse for a week or less. she is hard to use but her skill ceiling isnt that high, (incoming salty bois) scott brought this up on why people dont like her... and its very valid. you just pick her up get the muscle memory and the knowledge of her ability which doesnt take that long on pc or if you have prior knowledge and then you just slap on perks and everything and bam! i use jolt, pain res, thana and sloppy and i dont think ive ever had 2 man out and if so barely ever after maybe 20 games. not every game had babies, she is just... not good for the game. I hate to say it because i loved how she was hard and good but console just really isnt a good way to see if a killer is fair after switching. a ok nurse can be looped, a good nurse cant and its not that hard to be good

I main Clown and I agree with him being boring but his power doesn’t ruin the 1v1 an6 more than a killer like nemesis or artist or trickster do. He has 4 (without add ons) and a fairly punishing reload so just spamming doesn’t really work
But yeah he’s definitely boring as hell to fight. Still unlike killers like artist at least you can actually do something to counter him that isn’t just holding W
oh yeah for sure! I hate that nemi can just fake his whip if you start baiting pallets, the only way baiting his whip works is if he actually pulls it up, trickster is just braindead hold your knives and run around the pallet forcing you to take knives and vault pallets or run away and die, and artist is definitely good but i enjoy her ability for now. never went up against a really good one, but i can definitely see why she can be a problem

Yep, Clown is one of the most boring killers. His chase power is dumb. He's poorly designed all around. For some reason people always think boring = op. It does not. Blight is a strong killer, and aside from some addons, he's very fun to face. Spirit is the same way. Huntress is not weak, and is also fun to face. They have well designed powers to their kit that make them a challenge but also fun.
His power is not interactive. He's definitely C tier at best, but that does not make him fun. Escaping a clown is kind of like escaping a facecamping bubba. Yeah, you won, but did you really enjoy the match?
They should trade off some of his chase power for some map pressure, which he has none. It'd make him a better killer, but also more fun.
exactly this! i get wrecked by gens with huntress even tho she is better than clown, like gens always exist and so do perks but with a huntress if she hits your hitboxes over rocks its because she knows how and youve never seen it, you see it once you can start assuming, and you can have a back and forth with her and know what she will do. like old billy. billy and huntress are probably the strongest fairest and most fun killers to 1v1. whereas you have trap killers who place traps midchase, that sucks but isnt unbearable, you have clown who forces you to play like a rank 20, and then you have deathslinger who can still quickscope. like so many things in this game can be boring, but when there is no interaction the fun aspect suffers

I was just trying to pull your leg a bit, but now I feel terrible :V You should definitely get a good night of sleep. And Clown is just hillarious to play, all that mirthless laughing and huffing and puffing. But Clown usually gets totally destroyed by competent groups. He benefits a lot from Disolution, though! so keep an eye out for that one as nothing is more satisfying then seeing those pallets disintegrating into splinters right before your eyes (you gotta squint, though, in order to see anything through the purple haze).
yeah i know and its cuz i slept at like 4 30 yesterday and woke at 7 when i wanted to wake at 5 30... sooo my sleep schedule is ruined, so in 30 minutes its gonna be 8 and then ill sleep til 12 and my schedule will be fixed... military life really messes with your schedule XD and yeah his grunting and sounds are definitely creepy and humorous, like i think he is cool and all i just hate when my skill doesnt matter XD purple haze for sure

Please state wether you are a killer or survivor main and if you play both sides please.
So tunnelling and camping is obviously a problem… don’t get me wrong. I’ve played a hell of a lot of killer on console but it’s been more survivor for me on pc but still have a lot of killer hours also.
BT was introduced for tunnelling, and of course it is very strategic to use this perk to bait a hit from the killer, no doubt about it. Now in my eyes as a killer if someone wants to use that perk to save their team mates you should expect to be chased.. not all the time. But if a survivor is going to take as much advantage over their perk than what it was intended I don’t see why I can’t (according to the survivors rulebook) keep going for them.
usually I don’t… but if someone’s blocking my way, obviously trying to bait a hit.. I will wait 12 seconds until but wears off, and a lot of the time they stay standing there until the last 5 seconds when they realise what I’m doing.. then I get them down… they wanted to bait the hit, so I countered the bait by waiting and then hitting.
this is the one that just happened and made me write the post, someone unhooked their team mate, they were injured, I went to chase them and the survivor who got unhooked just body blocked me at the door obviously baiting my hit, so… I hit them, not before there team had already gained distance on me, even with the unhooked survivors endurance, was the closest survivor to me.. so I chased them.
my question is… would you consider the killer to be ‘toxic’ or a tunneller When I was obviously intended to go after their team mate first? Would you say that if a survivor wants to bait that hit so much to make more time for there team, that it is a invitation for me to chase them?
obviously it was always going to happen as a mechanic with that perk, baiting hits can definitely be essential, but you’ve chosen to use the perk that way and should face the consequences if I decide your the survivor I want.
P.S. I did not once focus this survivor I only had a 2k game anyway.. plus they all would have survived if they weren’t being stupid by trying to get my ruin on the last gen when they got the last 4 easy. And I was barely patrolling I was having a chilled game.
P.P.S I was playing trapper, barely even placed many traps.
i play both sides, have plenty of hours and.... anyone who thinks that is bad is dumb. The survivors who cry and complain about camping and tunneling are the ones who stay by hook. Downed a jeff early in game and seen a claudette behind a rock while i was trying to snipe with bitter, ignored her because no hatchets and didnt care. I hook him and she is nowhere to be seen but i refuse to waste time when 1 gen was already done. I hooked him by shack and as i leave i spot her and she starts looping at killershack and because jeff had kindred she could see my mindgames. Called me out for camping and said i wouldnt be able to catch her... blendette got hatch and never took chase and when she did she had aura reading :| anywho that jeff died on hook because she refused to 1v1 or run the loop instead she hid and avoided my line of sight and then on steam the jeff said i facecamped.
survivors like this arent good or just are dumb. When i get camped after looping a killer its a compliment and same for being tunneled. if my teammates refuse to 1 for 1 when they havent been hooked i blame them and i blame them when the killer loops around my hook. You punish bt plays and you punish saves, thats how you play killer. if you just go for another survivor and play fair the whole time you cant alway win. I posted a video to youtube of a 18-19 minute match against a good console swf. I made multiple wrong choices in how i left and didnt play mean, the only reason i 4k is their greed.
Dont be afraid to play to win, as long as you arent tunneling and camping for no reason you are good, but punishing survivors is what you do. and if you come across a good survivor who still doesnt understand then they are either new or just dumb, most people who play this game alot understand the struggles of each role

Eh there's even times where they can do a tiny vacuum (or seem to) when they're running to the pallet instead of running past it. I've seen plenty of people go from the middle of the pallet to instantly dropping it. Not like to the middle and keep running, no I saw them legit teleport.

Funnily enough, bad connection bypassed the old vacuum.
A player with a poor connection with the host, who was the killer back then, could still get hit even if the game recognized the vacuum and the pallet drop.
Just an interesting little fact, probably not well-known anymore.
yeah i wasnt around back then, but with the old servers and all i believe it. this new vacuum is almost as good tbh, its just super rare because most people dont go above and beyond to do these sort of tricks its mainly comp players XD. most people here probably think im just stupid or bad after reading this. ive only ever experienced the new vacuum 3 times so i wouldnt blame them
