it would be funny if it wasnt so true...

i usually just play normal (no tryharding - e.g. M2 only) and dont deathhook them.

they cant complain i would be a boring farmer, they cant complain they didnt get any points, they cant call me a "skillless baby killer", etc.

    its actually great xD

  • Shirtless Myers or Unicorn Trapper.

AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE HAS TO MAKE IT! °^°

Because some people believe that because there is such a large choice of perks it means we should make the games balance even more whacky so people can run all these perks at once, lol.

    yeah...

im voting for 60 killer perk slots!

@Mister_xD Honestly, I'm not about changing the way mori's work; if a killer had one oh ell, I just move onto the next, and as a killer They're not too bad, once you can apply pressure anyway, I unironically think the mori's right now are really good, and dont need changing... that was til I read your suggestion, and I must say, I really like that ide to add amother layer of obsession. Only making Rancor a little useless honestly.

i would like to refer to my very first comment in this discussion where i stated the exact same thing.

my second post, with the change ideas (the one you are currently referring to) has been made upon the request of OP on how i would change the mories, if i had to.

i believe that my suggestion is a lot better than the original idea of just adding an additional hook state to the requirement - the cypress mori change is something i'd still like to see though.

That would indeed make it more spicy and the killer would have to work towards the kill. And if the obsession was never hooked and is the last man standing that means it was wasted. BUT this would kill DS.

DS would definitely get his by that, but an offering is something you dont see every game. you would still be able to use your DS every other game. its just that using the perk now comes with a risk and you better think twice about weather you go for the strike or not.

also, DS would not be the only perk that would suffer: STBFL and PWYF also wouldnt match with this change very well, since the killer would constantly be hitting their obsession, therefore removing all the stack from those perks.

Dying Light would literally be useless, since the obsession would always be reincarnated, once one dies, therefore the -25% speed penality would never apply to the team.

but myers has his tombstone, so he isnt necessarily in the need of mori offerings anyway ^^

Why would you use a red mori anyway?

For winning the game? You dont win when you use a red mori, at least you dont get max Pip or BPs.

    To piss off the survivor?

Never understood the reason why someone would use it anyway. It makes no sense. (maybe if you just have like 5-10 minutes time and you need to end the game super quick... only reason i can think off why using ebony mori')

    i usually dont.

however, when i do use it, there are 2 possible reasons for it:

A: ive just had a horrendous match and want to boost my morale a bit and feel like the big scary killer i wanted to be

B: to teach some toxic dudes a lesson.

(C: i just feel like using them. i usually use them on the 3rd hook though / not at all, unless the survivors really make me work for my kills)

both dont happen too often though, so here i am with my stockpile of 300+ red moris

  • @Gorgonia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/623213#Comment_623213

Well, that’s alright. Let’s change the conditions that need to be met for mori to work.

how about this (i'll include the cypress mori, since i'd like it to be buffed a little. its utterly useless right now and with this idea it might find some usage)

    Cypress Memento Mori:

    • allows you to kill your obsession by your own hand after they have been hooked once
    • you will become obsessed with one survivor
    • only one obsession at a time

    Ebony Memento Mori

    • allows you to kill your obsession by your own hand after they have been hooked once
    • you will become obsessed with one survivor
    • if the obsession dies, a new obsession will be chosen
    • only one obsession at a time

that way i believe we can add a fun little aspect to it in which the killer has an specific order that he needs to kill the survivors in, which would make the whole thing a lot more fair and fun. of course, perks that change who the obsession is (e.g. DS) will also alter that order and endanger different survivors all the time. it would also make it a lot more scary being the killers obsession, which is something i wanted for a long time now.

  • freddy is definitely good, but no way he beats billy.

freddy's map pressure is worse than billys (mainly due to the cooldown) and his chase ability is good, but i dont think it outclasses the chainsaw - its on a very similar level though.

  • that might aswell just be in the killers basekit then.

why would i even use a red mori if i can only get it to go off when the survivor is literally already dead?

i can just hook them and end it much faster, why even bother going for red mories at that point?

ultra rares are supposed to be very strong and gamechanging, there is nothing wrong with the current red mori.

and before you mention it, yes BNP and odd buld need buffs, i know.

  • i do believe they will change when they introduce more objectives for survivors to do.

lets just assume its gonna be "find part X to repair the gen", maybe a BNP could allow you to repair the gen no matter what.

  • or ripping the doors open immediately.

FFS others are lookign for the NOED totem and the killer is NOT EVEN NEAR YOU!

  • Trapper:

    • Let me place my Beartraps in the most obvious areas and then wonder how they constantly get disarmed
    • Let me completely forget that i have traps and only go for the M1 playstyle

    Leatherface:

    • Let me exclusively use my chainsaw to break pallets, without any faster charging time add ons

    Doctor:

    • Let me constantly shock suvivors, even though i could easily hit them
    • Let me walk around in treatment mode all the time
    • Let me completely forget that i even have a treatment mode

    Pig:

    • Let me constantly use my ambush attack instead of just standing up
    • Let me crouch everywhere
    • Let me tunnel the one guy that has a trap on his head

    Every Killer:

    • Let me try to Bloodlust a survivor on a safe pallet
    • Let me stand next to a hooked survivor with insidious and think i'm invisible
    • Let me think rank is important

I'm rather neutral about this idea as long as it's not the same type of Legacy from before.

Also, I wonder what this change can be? Do you have any ideas?

    the standart outfits in golden

    or unicorn skins.

    i want unicorn skins.

    i NEED unicorn skins!

    #UnicornTrapperWhen?

  • yes.

    that would be aweseome!

oh, and while we're at it, i'd like them to hand out the legacy 1 outfits to the players who lost them due to the loss of progress bug.

felt like adding that, since the topic is alreay legacy related ^^

  • add it to small game.

With the stability increase over the past few months, we are back to the regular DC ban system. Things are on track and it's starting to show. (Insert happy crow.)

But as for the original topic, we are not ignoring it. I would suggest reading through the developer updates (which can be found in the news section). There is a new system on the way that will punish disconnects better than our current system.

@ABannedCat well i hope killer has fun with 3min games when soloQ players are mashing gens, instead of having game in which survs are screwing around, looting, doing totems, etc xd, ofc they prefer 3min games :)

@Mister_xD well (but youre into that idea) if i have red rank (not atm but most of the time unfortunatelly i had red rank) and have friends with 30-40h that are starting playing in dbd its for sure fair to play with red rank killer, and tbh recently i have like 4-5 friends that literally have at most 30lvl on 1 surv, so its fair to push them vs red rank :) (and btw these days its more likely for 200h player to have red rank than over 2k hours player because those with 2k know how trash red ranks are so its better to have chill games in purple/green, but new kids on the block doesnt know that so they are like lets hit R1 and be greatest players in community :) )

but friendly reminder :) with current killer que, matchmaker is ignoring ranks anyway :) so even tho you hate playing vs SWF that avg rank is around yours, atm with current state of game you as killer can easly play vs swf (which you hate most in the world for some reason) that avg rank is way higher than your as killer xd im so fckin amazed how instead of fix you want a change which is fix but with overkill for que :)

not every swf is sweaty and focused on making killers life miserable xd and remember 1 surv cant carry whole team unless killer will refuse to drop chase xd (which is his fault) xd so he needs to learn that lesson if he wants to rank up (as you would love to)

so in short you want to tell me that its unfair for low level survivors to face high level killers, yet its completely fair and balanced for low level killers to face high level survivors.

that is quite the doublestandart there.

since you mentioned "killer queue times", those have dropped drastically - at least for me. on top of that, i happen to always find survivors of my rank in my lobbies, unless i get an SWF group - this is whrere i face those red rank survivors currently.

and yeha, it might be that not all SWFs out there are sweaty tryhards, its just that those i get usually are. if i find survivors that want to goof around, great! ill gladly join them and have a chill and fun time. and yet 99.95% of the survivor groups i face look for a competetive match and tryhard to win - that includes SWF groups.

here is the simple truth: when i as a low rank survivor decide to group up with a rank 1 survivor, i should be prepared to face good killers. that was my decision, i actively made the choice to face those killers and i can stop whenever i want. the killers do not have that luxory. a low rank killer can not decide weather he goes up against said rank 1 survivor, he just has them join his lobby as 4 random persons with unknown rank.

that is simply unfair. if i group up with a red rank survivor, i should be facing red rank killers.

Then let's just agree Leatherface fits no category, because if we're going to go on an area. Let's just add the one rule where the area must contain gens.

well, i get that you dislike camping, i do too, but that doesnt justify throwing him out of his cathegory, just because he is a camper by design.

the "area" defenders defend has no rules to it - trapper and hag both have different areas to defend aswell, its just that bubba has the smallest one.

the wording might have not been the best in my previous post, but defenders are killers that defend something - that is an area with gens, pallets hooks, etc. in bubbas case it would literally just be the hook.

you cant deny that he is ment to be played on the defense, thats literally all his power can.

  • survivors complain about camping

--> devs add perks that encourage the killer to leave the hook

--> survivor complain about those perks

    --> survivors encourage camping

    see where this is going?

also, BBQ has a LOT of counterplay. learn to use it.

  • Survivor: claudette

    Killer: Trapper, Doctor, Clown

  • @Galklife

i... never said any of those things...like, at all xD

i just said that it would prevent R1 players to go down and bully low ranking killers. a rank 1 player with lets say 3k hrs shouldnt be able to face a rank 16 killer with lets say 100 hours. yet that is possible, which is just bad game design and encourages toxicity.

i never said you werent allowed to team up with your friends, i said you should face a killer on the skilllevel of the best member in your team. i really dont know where you read all those things you claimed i said in my comment...

  • yes.

that would stop high rank survivors grouping up with low ranks to bully low rank killers.

its stupid that thats even a thing in the first place...

  • @DoomOrb said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/619304#Comment_619304

A nice format. I like it, but I don't think Leatherdace would fit in defender.

well, looking at his power closer we would have a problem then:

he has no tracking tools, he is very bad at hunting and he has nothing to slow down the game with.

his one and only strength lies in , like @Ember_Hunter said, defending his hooks.

insidious camping is not necessary to use his power, yet its the most effective way.

his chainsaw is designed to be slow and hit multiple targets - where could you better use that then when someone is unhooking someone else? you can literally get 2 hooks out of one with him, no one else can do that as effectively as he can.

thats why i put him into the Defender category, as he is best suited to defend his prey and not let them go.

yeah, he is literally designed to be camping a hook. as much as it hurts to say this, thats sadly the truth. nothing is as scary as bubbas basement...

  • honestly, id make it easier:

"Hunters" - killers whose strength lies at chasing survivors

    • Hillbilly
    • Nurse
    • Huntress
    • Shape
    • Nightmare
    • Clown
    • Spirit
    • Plague

"Trackers" - killers whose strength lies at tracking / finding survivors

    • Wraith
    • Shape (tier 1)
    • Doctor
    • Ghostface (uncertain about his placement, but his power seems to have more tracking tools that hunting tools, so...)

"Defenders" - killers whose strength lies at defending one area

    • Trapper
    • Hag
    • Cannibal

"Game Slowers" - killers whose strength lies at buying time and stalling the game

    • Pig
    • Legion

the significant part is, that Hunters are strong at hunting, but bad at tracking. Trackers are strong at tracking, but bad at hunting and Defenders are strong at hunting AND tracking in one area, but weak at both outside the area.

the "Game Slowers" are rather new, but they have bad hunting and tracking, therefore they get longer matches.

PS: "bad" in those cases means average. a hunter can still be good at tracking, its just that a tracker will have a much easier time.

  • that "gen nerf" you were talking about was implemented years ago.

they just recently added a visual clue to the survivors that it is slower to repair one gen with multiple people than everyone on their own gen, but the time it takes to repair a gen has remained unchanged.

now, your suggestion to change sloppy butcher would literally be a reversion of its most recent buff, which would immediately throw it back into the corner of perks that exist, but no one uses.

PGTW is definitely in a great spot right now it does not need any changes and same goes for Ruin.

Ruin is already a very time limited perk, it gets found and destroyed very fast in the majority of your games and good survivors are literally unaffected by it.

i can see that it may be frustrating to face all of those at once, but the current meta is to just push through the gens and dont heal at all - which would render SB useless by default (and if you are selfcaring with SB on, im sorry, but you deserved that slow down xD) ruin is like i said very easily destroyed and PGTW will only work after a hook and on one gen only (it does cut 20 seconds off the gen, but still)

TL;DR: imo the perks are all in a good spot. nerfing them would probaply kill them, so they should stay unchanged.

  • i do believe he should be next on the rework list.

his power wont be fixed with some buffs, he needs a full on rework imo.

  • when 4 survivors team up and play SWF to win, thats pretty much the equvalent to a killer picking nurse and playing to win.

its unbalanced and stomps everything that is below its level - which in this case would be everything but a godlike nurse.

    its just frustrating, thats all.

Buy LF and get BBQ, the grind in this game is a joke and BBQ is very much worth having unlocked ASAP.

Don't listen to @Mister_xD He has no idea what he's talking about. BBQ has only ever showed up in the shrine of secrets 2 times.

if i am the onen with no clue, how comes you are just repeating what i already told him?

i just happened to point out that the perk is obtainable for free aswell. yes, that would take time, but it is definitely not impossible. you said it yourself: the perk has already been on the shrine before - and it will again.

i literally told him he'd have to decide on his own what is more worth to him: a new playstyle or a BP booster.

something your post happened to completely miss out on. you only look at one side of the coin: bloodpoints. i said so before and i will say it again: if you are looking for BPs only, go and buy BBQ. however, if you look for an enjoyable experience and fun gameplay, go and buy freddy.

  • i always buy them with money

i believe that BHVR put quite some work into it and therefore i wish to reward them with my money.

and lets be honest: if no one did that, they would stop creating new chapters, so its like an investment in the future of the game ^^

  • i dont think he needs a passive ability tbh.

i'd like to see some fixes to his power and then some buffs, but he doesnt need anything entirely new.

also, that would pretty much kill the iridescent stone add on, since its already build into his passive.

here an idea of what kind of buffs i was talking about:

    • increased trap number (10 sounds good)
    • starts with all traps in hand (and carry them all at the same time)
    • logwood dye as basekit
    • escaping a trap is a set animation and no longer based on RNG
    • cant trap himself
  • i love you too

  • that should be ONE of the trapper buffs.

however, trapper is not high on the buff / rework list (sadly).

i would prefer some actual fixes to his power first:

    Trap hitbox sizes

    Trap deadzones

    Emblem gain

those are the 3 changes that should really be top priority.

  • @nan1234 said:

I get that BBQ is a great perk, but you didn’t answer the more important part of my question. Is it with the taking over Freddy? I do want him.

@Mister_xD while I agree that It’s worth 5$, I don’t want to spend those right now. I have 500 auric cells left, so it’s down to Freddy or Leatherface.

    that is purely your decision.

i cant tell you to pick a certain thing over another, it fully depends on what is more important to you:

your BP gain or a new playstyle.

i personally find the new freddy to be very fun - and he has nice perks aswell -, but i cant tell weather you will enjoy him or not. who knnows, maybe you will turn into a bubba main?

then since you specifically asked for it, here is my advice:

buy freddy and wait for BBQ to appear at the shrine of secrets.

  • well, its literally a 2x BP offering when you hook everyone once.

you dont need to buy leatherface, you can also wait for it to appear in the shrine of secrets.

however, i would definitely say its a great perk for you to choose, it really helps reducing the grind. is it worth the 5$? i would say so. gaining your future BPs twice as fast is just really, REALLY good.

  • whispers goes off when a survivor is within a certain range to you.

that includes any survivor in the trial, hooked, downed, healthy, injured, deeply wounded, etc.

thats what the description of the perk clearly states, i dont see the need to add this extra to it.

technically speaking, there IS a survivor within 32m to you. its just that they are on a hook.

  • its a dead perk after 120 seconds.

    not worth it.

  • not necessarily a nerf, but i do have an idea in mind how to change NOED:

    Hex: No One Escapes Death

at the end of the trial, when the last generator has been repaired, the fear of losing your prey overcomes you and fills you with unbearable anger. each remaining dull totem in the trial will become affected by the perk and light up.

you are now granted to instantly kill any survivor by your hand that comes too close to you. once the animation has been started, it can not be stopped.

when you perform the kill action, 3/2/1 of your totems break.

once all of your totems have been destroyed, the perk deactivates.

i believe it would be in a better place with this change.

short clarification: by "kill any survivor by your hand that comes to close to you", i mean somehting similar to a tombstone. no need to down, just kill. would need animation changes for killers with a mori animation that starts from the dying animation, but they should just add a swing that sends the survivor to the ground and then the kill animation and that'd be fine.

  • i dont think so tbh.

since you are not DCing, it usually means easy points and a win to the survivors. those rounds also dont last long. without a killer around gen times are absurdly fast anyway.

however, i am not certain this is the case, some clarification from the devs would be good here.

  • trap deadzones.

espeically with the new hook placements, those can really be a pain in the ace.

and ever since the multidirectional unhook was added, i dont see the need for them anymore anyway.

  • yeah, i would never have done it if i had the choice xD

i am still hoping for the devs to finally give it back to me...

i mean, i have proof and all, i dont see any reason not to get it back.

  • happy birthday!

    have a great next year!

  • ive had over 50 million BPs on my account once.

i lost a legacy for that.

  • why would i even bother spending 7k BPs in the bloodweb when i can also spand 5k and get a mori that will do the exact same for me?

  • while i do agree on everything you said, i feel like i have to disagree with that.

  • "why is stopped cleansing totems"

and then you complain about noed...

    are you trolling?

the whole point of NOED is to give a punishment for survivors who do exactly what you do. it is ment to be a time waster. and if the killer didnt have it? well, you wasted your time. but if the killer had it, you are glad for every second you've spend on a totem.
