People are just dissappointed that the chapter was allowed to release in this state.
Even more so because this is not the first time this happened
and not the first time in a row

This is what happens when you work from home and get lazy
statistics about productivity speak against homeoffice being a bad thing, but go off, karen

At this point: Please, devs, contact the folks that make warframe and have them have a look at your game and then listen to them how to fix it.
Cause, folks, whatever you might think about warframe, in terms of optimization, accessibility and customization it's lightyears ahead of dbd at a smaller team.

outfit 'sets' like the minotaur where you can't ue individual parts of the cosmetic are 'unbreakable' sets. Krampus and Minotaur make sense, cause the meshes are new and don't line up with the regular meshes at all. but there are linked sets (kate's oktoberfest outfit for example) where they could have just shifted the meshes a tiny bit to allow mix and match

Thats the important stuff of course.
yeah, cause hell beware people have fun mix-and-matching.
Like, I get sets when it's using complete new meshes like Krampus or Minotaur. but everything else shows a certain level of incompetence (not as high/low as the one when it comes to optimizing though)

Franklin's isn't that strong, and it wasn't that strong before the nerf.
Can't really argue about Lethal, though. I guess there are two killers that benefit from it.
I'd say every killer that can traverse the map fairly quickly benefits greatly from it. Heck, I'd not be surprised if there are Huntress mains out there who can just hatchet someone cross the map at the very start

This would be great for sure! I have a lot of trouble leveling up the PTB since i'm never quite sure when the snapshot's going to be taken from the live. Because of that there were some cool perk combinations I wanted to try on Nemesis and never had the chance.
But on the other hand, people wouldn't ever use perks or characters at their lower levels so they might not detect bugs with them. Like if there were a problem with Tier 1 Flashbang it might not be caught until it went to the live server.
yeah. though I think if all perk-tiers were available at once, people might go and try stuff with them (like with old discordance I think it was)

AFAIK they're doing a pretty good job. Excluding licenses, there's an incredibly diverse cast (ethnically), Claudette is hinted to having austism (although this isn't directly confirmed), the backgrounds are also incredibly mixed, from David beating people up to help his mother, to Jane facing serious discrimination because of both her race and gender, and they'll probably do more in future. The argument kinda falls flat when you realise they're already doing it.
I'd also argue that Deathslinger is somewhere on the autism spectrum. though it'd be nice if some stuff would get confirmed.
-
@Beelzeboop said:
That doesn't seem to be the case. For killers, at least.
The only really strong licensed killers are Pyramid Head and Freddy, and neither of them are S tier (well, Freddy was, but the nerf put him into A tier where he belongs).
Plus, none of those killer perks you mentioned are really... good. BBQ is decent, though.
Blood Warden is mostly only useful against those dumbfucks who think it's super fun to stay in the exit gates until the last possible second. Plus, it requires you to get a hook, which, in the event that this perk is actually in a situation that it can be powerful, that is a hefty requirement.
BBQ is mostly used for the BP, but the information is undeniably useful. It has counterplay which doesn't require much effort or change to tactics, so I don't see why people complain about it so much. I guess it can't be countered if you're just running around in a dead zone, but you kinda deserve it then. Plus, BBQ is the best anti-tunneling and anti-camping perk in the game, so if anything survivors should appreciate killers running it.
I have no idea what FD is. Maybe you meant Forced Penance. The perk that applies Broken for 80 seconds on a protection hit. That doesn't even sound strong on paper. The fact that the killer is sacrificing a perk slot for a meager effect that has a fairly low chance of actually triggering at all.
Lethal Pursuer is only good on Ghostface. It has no effect on the game after the first ten or so seconds.
The two survivor perks you mentioned are actually fine now. The reason they were so bad before was that the devs were more focused on making the characters feel accurate than be balanced. They later decided to go the complete other way, and overcompensated severely. I mean, be honest, does playing the Executioner make you feel like Pyramid Head, or Nemesis make you feel a Tyrant? I doubt it.
franklin's demise.
And I've seen Lethal on Nurse... If you can down survivors across the map before they can even orient themselves, something went wonky

There were about 16-20 and they were just as safe as they are now. As in, there's a peak to maximum safety and anything beyond that doesn't matter.
i admittedly never noticed. then again, you get lost so easily on the map before and after that it doesn't really register. but... thinking about it it makes sense:
you are buying yourself time to get to the boxes.
@Mister_xD said:
as for the original 3, i feel like their maps were specifically designed to compliment their abilities.
MacMillan Estate has a lot of grass and a dark floor, allowing traps to be hidden well (before they made the grass so super shallow that is)
Autohaven Wreckers has a lot of open areas with few hiding places, allowing Wraith to spot his prey from longer distances
Coldwind Farm has many open fields allowing Hillbilly to quickly traverse them with his chainsaw without having much trouble doing so
as for the others, i feel like they were mostly designed trying to make them look good. they dont really strike me as maps that were specifically build for the mechanics their respective Killers came with tbh.
I think the trend continues even after the original three:
Huntress has a high vantage point to snipe around the map, but plenty of obstacles to dodge behind.
Doctor has narrow rooms and corridors which are great for shocking people, but also a hindrance in terms of getting TO them.
Even Spirit has all these nooks and crannies and bushes to hide and change direction in, which... on paper could work.

Well, clearly the counterplay to Pig was intended to be drop pallets every five seconds.

It's a psychological thing:
In A LOT of societies children are raised to thing they MUST always triumph over others, that they are worthless if they don't. and not just triumph, but devastatingly triumph.
Thus, games in which they can easily feel like they triumphed over others, because the game does not require any fairness or skill to declare them 'winner', are games these shits love and which they latch onto.
Much to the dismay of normal people.
-
here's one of the things:
it's very likely that bhvr HAS to present rising numbers (money) to their investors and the licenseholders. Right now the only way to make money are chapters and cosmetics.
If they have to deliver numbers every quarter they CAN'T afford to test stuff proper as it has to gotten out there.
What we as players can do is stop asking for licensed stuff.
-
Two parts to these problems:
- the devs changing stuff from the ptb to live instead of putting a new ptb up
- people NOT testing older stuff (killers, perks, spawnpoints) on ptb
edit: you even have people complaining that some people play other killers on ptb, only to then come around and complain that other killers are bugged upon the live patch. have your escape cake OR eat it, people.

Farming is just boring. People just want to play the game and have some fun. If people don't want to farm then just move to the next game.
'people just want to play the game and have fun' where's that quote when people get frustrated about slugging, tunneling and camping?
-
Clown is another ranged killer that has these problems.
Seriously: Since the Trickster 'buff' ALL ranged killers (Deathslinger, Plague, Huntress, Trickster, Clown and now Nemesis) suffer from the same bug: Hits not registering fully. Like, the hits will 'connect' the animation and sound will play, but nothing will come of it.
Wonder how they 'fixed' Trickster's hits to mess it up like THIS
-
@[Deleted User] said:
The hitboxes for ranged killers are all broken, too forgiving and gigantic. Huntress hatchets, Nemesis tentacle, Plague blood, all these hitboxes are too forgiving and broken. I have been speared by Deathslinger through a wall, it’s unfair to survivors, unacceptable.
so, you're saying that the hits NOT registering AT ALL is totally okay?

It's probably lag but if you have video evidence you can report it as a bug.
done already a while back. and no, it wasn't lag. a couple of people (on survivor side even) noted that it happens, too.
So, yeah, we're talking about hits both sides agree should have registered/have an effect, but didn't
-
@[Deleted User] said:
What
Sometimes when playing these killers and hitting a survivor with a ranged attack the -hit- animations for it (and often the sound) will play, but no hit is actually registered.
Meaning:
Deathslinger doesn't spear you, you don't get infected by plague, no laceration from trickster, no healthstatus down from huntres and now no infection from nemesis.
-
@scenekiller said:
Because people continue to line their pockets so they don't take the time and effort to optimize and work on game health.
it's unfortunately just half the truth:
it's the investors. They want to see a plus every quarter, so there's no time for proper tested chapters every 6 months or so.

I just want to enjoy the game. I haven't played in a while and I just want to enjoy it. I shouldn't have to spare my tears just because people want to be #########. I should be allowed to play and not have to compete goddamn in an e-sports environment.
It's not going to work, unfortunately:
The game is full of people who run on the mentality
'yeah, we are toxic, but not as toxic as (insert other community) therefor it's okay that we don't do better'
they act as if playing fair will cost them a vital organ, and therefore playing fair MUST BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS, etc.
It's amazing how the devs still cater to them instead of doing stuff to get these MoFos out, cause it's them who are also most likely to just hack cosmetics instead of buying them, so they don't make the devs money either
-
Can the game be balanced?
Yes?
Are people who will cry bloody murder should there be anything to make them change their 'loop&juke&genrush' respectively 'tunnel&camp&slug' MO and go to the barricades till the plans are dropped?
Yes.

I paid exactly the same amount as the Stranger Things chapter, which was exactly what I was expecting to because it has the same number of survivors.
Alright, my mistake then, as I got the ST chapter for 6,99.
What's still a thing though is that the events and earnable items suffered the more expensive licenses came in. that's still worrying me

0 map pressure, 0 multi target, 0 range on his power, tiny hitbox, ultra long cooldown, extremely easy to dodge, 3 hit power, taller killer in the game super easy to spot from far away, he is F tier, played him a few times on ptb to notice this and my first match confirmed his uselessness and how weakly trash he is.
you know that this list reads like what people demand the changes for deathslinger to be to make him 'fun'?

I'm guessing the idea is for people who are just new after RE chapter. The funny thing is,
When there's a new chapter all the old DLC goes on sale 30% or 40% (on steam). That makes it a better deal than this new bundle.
this. marketing wise this is... not a good idea. long time players get nothing, new players might realize and refund. might.

@bibibib8 said:
Im really surprise to say this but this chapter release is one of the best in the last 2 or 3 year. No major bug for now and nemesis feel better compare to the ptb.
The only issue are the nerf they did specially for franklin demise but at least they made the nemesis perk playable compare to before
no major bugs except apparently massive framedrops all around and game freezes... Optimization looks different than that
-
Don't keys have charges too?
Like, the X seconds of use and after that you can't even use them on hatches anymore?
-
Two groups here:
- group is scared they'll be matched with people that now how to counter their unskilled but 'effective' play (aka toxic swfs fearing ruthless, scummy killers, and ruthless scummy killers fearing toxic swfs), which would be great for everyone who actually tries to play fair and show they have skill
- people with skill fearing that the mechanics will start matching them with scummy killers/toxic swfs because the mechanics somehow recognized their nonsense as 'skill', which would suck for everyone.
-
Y'know, it's a bit unsettling to see how the OP made it clear that their 'teammates' already playing without them, and people still say 'it's unfair cause you screw other the others chances'...

i think dyllonKG is collecting data on tunnelling, 100 matches with if he got tunnelled and if he escaped and what survivor and perks he used. Is that what you are thinking of?
not entirely, but adjacent.
-
@SMitchell8 said:
Not seeing the survivors teabagging in the exit gates is enough credit for tunneling. I 9/10 will get 27k + by playing nice but I do get the exit party brigade on occation for playing nicely.
so, all in all the legitimate reason for scummy playing is... your ego?
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
Decent bait, definitely worthy of a 7.5/10
not bait, i'd really like to crunch the numbers.
Cause lately there's been an increase across the ranks of that playstyle (is it cause of rank reset incoming? new players waiting for the RE chapter?) and seeing scoreboards with 4 digit scores for survivors while the killer gets 20k+ plus ... You gotta admit that can't make for a 'fun' game
@TicTac said:
Isnt this post pointless? You can kill one early with tunneling and then "farm" the other three and max out your bloodpoints.
which farming do you mean? the one where survivors get some points in as well? cause with that survivors will usually get at least 15k or something.

During the evening in the US, survivor queue time can be upwards of 10 minutes. Definitely not fun for that to happen.
if that's the actual reason, how is camping/tunneling someone out of the game fair then?

I know I've learned mostly by trial and error in this game, but I agree. Once you can identify the killer, play accordingly! It's one reason why the nerf posts on this forum sound silly to me. Folks act like DbD doesn't require analytical thinking and attention to detail. Plenty of problems can be solved with some brain power. Playing survivor AND killer helps too, because it provides insight into each role...a tactical advantage.
you people think we should just go ahead an make a thread for these tips and tricks?
-
@[Deleted User] said:

I think there are some loading screen specific Killer tooltips for Survivors, but quite literally only for the first few matches you face a Killer, during the same time in which the majority of the verbiage probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
yeah, you get more tooltips on hwo to counter a killer... when playing killer
-
By all means, we need a proper threat on all that stuff first. Cause I somehow doubt the devs will put that into the tuts/tooltips :(
(And with some people I really doubt they are still learning. They just don't WANT to change their tactics and instead expect the game to change for them...)
-
Started with Claudette, now rotate between her, dwight, feng and felix
Started with Plague, now a Deathslinger main.
-
Investors.
Hands down, this is a matter of pleasing investors who care more for games LOOKING amazing than RUNNING at least well.
To so many investors games MUST look hyper-super-mega 'realistic' even if it doesn't fit at all...
-
Okay, paging @GoodBoyKaru here:
Any idea, any list of things that devs said about eastereggs and elements no one found yet in general? Cause I've heard rumors bout a third legit way to escape trials
-
Naw, forget the lullaby et all:
Just bar him from M&A (as well as barring spirit from stridor etc) and give people a better hint on how to break the chain.
Cause, guess what, most people fail to break from a sharpshooter shot chain cause they dunno how
(also: the reload addons can go. I'd rather have a better version of the spike)
-
It's cause people can't read:
The models are ALL Work-In-Progress, meaning there's be very likely different textures in the end, refined meshes etc. But people act as if these models are final
-
How about we keep rin and caleb and get rid of CoalTower?
-
Question: Why does DCing as KILLER count as 'unsportsmanlike behaviour'?
-
The devs got it a bit backwards right now. As in, sure, this is just a test, but, as long as they still declare things like tunneling, slugging, camping, and swf without any identification as such to be fair and square and legit and 'necessary' you can't really have a 'skillbased' system.
Like, when you have people who get to red ranks within a week through tunneling, camping and slugging, do they have any skill with the killer they're playing? no.
When survivors get to red ranks in a week cause they are continuously on swfs with voicechat (and maybe even got pulled by an experienced player) do they have skill? no.
On the flipside: when you have people who let survivors go because they're good enough that the match would have ended fairly quickly (as in 4-6 hooks before the second gen) and they felt pity/compassion, are they bad? on the contrary.
when you have survivors that know how to counter the various killers et all but take a lot of hits/hooks on purpose to protect their teammates and theoretically could get all of the others out, do they lack skill cause they got hit/hooked often and didn't do much in terms of gens? no.
So, until the mechanics etc aren't overhauled a skillbased system won't pan out.
-
People: ALL the new models show so far are WiPs. Meaning there will be tweaks to the textures, meshes etc
