We post the main news on Steam as well, but we choose to use our Official Forum for the majority of our news. We only have a few sections on Steam now, we wish to keep the majority of information in one place for our players - such as bug reporting, technical issues etc.
-
In order to get the cosmetic you had to log in prior to 11am on the 2nd July, if you got the jacket but not the beret it's incredibly likely that you logged in after 11am EST on the 2nd.
-
As this has been resolved, I'll go ahead and close this
-
@DetectiveBingBong sadly no, whilst I would love to see a way where you know your report was acknowledged, we don't currently have a system for this. It might be something that's changed in the future but I don't think it's high on the priorities list at the present time.

Yeah they aren't handled at all they jusy sit around not doing crap but forum mods will ban you for any reason even if cause they just don't like you
🙄
@SirCipher The reports are forwarded to the ACM's for investigation, they will review the chat logs and decide what action to take...that could be a temporary ban or a permanent ban depending on the circumstances (previous temp bans etc).
All reports are looked at and dealt with and action is taken on them providing that something bannable has actually occurred and there is sufficient evidence. You do not receive notification of what action was taken though.
-
Ban appeals for Discord do not happen here, you will need to contact the Discord Staff.
-
For any issues please contact DBD Mobile - https://discord.gg/dbdmobile
The forum is only for PC & Consoles.

Can you please make sure that you've levelled up Bill for these Teachable Perks - and provide Screenshots to show that they're unlocked.
Thank you
(if you are on Console, once Bill was added to the game, these perks became teachables, so not in the regular pool of perks available to all characters, this is why you now need to level up Bill or purchase the Teachable Perks in the Shrine of Secrets).
-
No the Clown is not a licensed killer, if you are having trouble unlocking a crown for him - please can you fill in a bug report here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

Not a dream, but a couple of times when I've been out I've seen birds circling an area and I immediately thought someone had spent too much time hiding in a locker there...it was the first thing my brain went to :)

You know the best thing about online games such as DBD? You play against a wide variety of players - some you will be better than, others will be better than you. I'd rather play against someone better than me any day of the week, because that's the only way to learn and it improves your game so much.
So instead of dying on your first hook, maybe try to play the game which will help you to learn the game and therefore improve your own skills in the process.
Thread locked as I'm not having threads trying to encourage negative in game behaviour from other forum users.

If you notice his job title in the 3 year Anniversary post @Dehitay you will see him listed there as Head of Partnerships or Partnerships Manager there as well. I do know he's not connected with Design and they have their own people.
-
That's what I am saying though @coppersly there is a dedicated role for Feedback - that's the Community Teams role. It's completely impossible and unfeasable to answer every single feedback post or every single post on the forum and no company would ever do that, or would be able to do that. Plus a lot of it would be saying the same thing over and over again. There's only so many times we can discuss the same topic and only so many different ways we can say the same thing - we give updates with the Dev Updates, we have a regular Q&A, we're on the forums as much as possible. Having further staff dedicated to answering feedback is impractical.

I'd say sometimes that policy goes a little far 👀👀
But they should honestly just have a new forum role solely for the purpose of responding to feedback and suggestions. I'm sure they're looking at them as much as they can but with so few ever getting commented on we as a community are left in the dark as to what they are and aren't seeing. If we had someone to just say "This is cool, will forward it" or "We're discussing similar stuff in the vein in this idea" etc...
Something would be better than the sporadic responses we get.
And that "role" is exactly what the Community Team does, that's their job - Peanits is incredibly active and has the Dev tag for that purpose, as he can speak for the team that he is part of.
Moderators are here on a volunteer basis and also carry back information and feedback as well as myself. We all have our jobs to do here, Developers are here during their free time, and most read without commenting due to time - when you've worked on something all day, it's pretty tiring then to spend your free time doing the same thing.

Are you honestly telling me that the Game Director doesn't control which direction the game goes in?
As I said, he is the Head of Partnerships and has been for a long while now.
-
As you can clearly see we don't censor topics...we do remove posts that are insulting however, so maybe that's what you are mistaken on with the "censoring".
There's plenty of posts here that disagree with the Developers, and plenty that the Developers do comment on and it's done on their FREE TIME not their work hours! Because their job is not connected with the forums, that's why we have the Community Team.

Watch Mccote play his own game once. Just once. You'll see everything you need to know about who exactly in charge of this game.
But he is Partnership Manager not a designer, so doesn't make the decisions with anything related to that...so it's immaterial how good or bad he is at playing the game anyway.
Quite a few of the designers play, Almo & Jeff are the two that come to mind...they play both sides consistently and have a lot of hours in the game and are both pretty good. And Peanits plays a lot, again both sides and as BHVR works as a team then I think it's fair to say, his opinion is probably listened to.

Can 100% confirm, using voice chat is not cheating!
Closing this thread down now.

This is a bug.
-
I'm not sure if it's just over reacting or that people are resistant to change in general. I just hope that people go into the PTB with an open mind and test things for themselves not just make an instant decision on something - I think that's what I find the most frustrating.

Yup, as expected I literally knew that you were gonna mention nurse and the devs not caring about info cause so many people mention it. Let alone the fact that seeing a Nurse thread is as rare as me willingly completing almost anything, but Devs DO BLOODY CARE. NOT EVERY DEV TEAM IS THE SAME AND THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO DO AT ONCE. Just bloody wait and eventually Nurse will get changed again.
Yes you saw gameplay footage of literally Billy holding his chainsaw and hitting 1 survivor....not for “How long does it take while Billy is sprinting to overheat his saw” or “How many add-ons affect his saw’s Overheat”. You need to think away from all the negatives and look at all the positives. He still has almost everything that made Billy who he was, they didn’t just throw billy in the trash. And hell, recently Pyramid Head actually did change from the PTB through his perks and some of Cheryl’s perks, so there goes the “Devs don’t take feedback seriously” argument I am tired of hearing about.
YOU don’t know how strong a killer can be through a video, ONLY YOU can know how strong a killer can be by actually playing them.
Not trying to come off as rude but I swear almost every change that happens to a killer this argument is used and its starting to get really old
Thank you for this @Hoodied it explains things very well.
The Devs do know their own game, they know their game very well indeed. And yes, Billy will now require that little bit more skill to effectively manage his power - I personally don't see that as a bad thing at all. He's still going to be very strong and there's still going to be counterplay to him.

If you think you have found a bug, please report it in the correct sub forum so it will get looked at properly: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
Thank you

I'm hoping that people will still want to try out the PTB @N0T0Ri0US - usually people go on there for at least a few hours over the course of the time it's up for. It's a shame that they overlap but sometimes these things happen and it's either put everything back a week or just stick to schedule - I think in this case sticking to schedule is probably right, because people are going to be interested enough to test out Billy & Bubba.
-
@Elena I can only answer about what is out in public I'm afraid - the rest we're going to have to wait for the PTB for...it's just a few days away now.
-
You noticed that quickly! I was hoping it would take longer :(
-
yes I agree @ShrekTheThird69 I also think that with the changes they've actually got a bit more of their own identity now, Bubba was always Billy's weaker cousin (viewed as at least) but now, I think it's his time to shine in his own right. The Add-On changes to both are also pretty great and I'm really looking forward to people's reactions to them.

@Respectfulnancymain said:
So many posts complaining about billy when the changes havent even released yet
How about we try him out first before crying about the changes?
It would be nice! I get that people get excited/annoyed by changes, it seems to be human nature and people are naturally very resistant to change in general it appears (not me, I love change!).
Whilst I don't mind the feedback at this stage, I just want people to go into the PTB with an open mind and not have their minds made up beforehand - if that's the case, I don't mind the negative feedback right now, because I'm aware of how much that can change when people actually test out the mechanic.
-
Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm really looking forward to people's responses after playing him on the PTB, and Bubba of course - I think the whole add-on changes will give them both a much needed refresh and definitely give Bubba more of his own identity than he currently has.
So excited for this PTB next week.
-
I see absolutely no reason why BBQ would need to be a Hex based perk. It gives valuable information to the killer and even then, you can tell as a survivor after the first hook if the killer is using it - so then you outplay it, lockers, faking direction etc. Just played a match where the killer only got use out of BBQ after the first hook (still got their stacks, don't worry!), because we all outplayed it by using lockers and diversion tactics after that first hook. It just takes some map awareness.
-
It will be this coming Tuesday which is July 7th.
-
Can't wait for you to try them on the PTB, looking forward to reading the feedback <3
-
Please verify your game files, the game will probably download a few more files - this happens occasionally, it seems that some files get corrupted on download.
-
I've been summoned I see...
I've dm'd you.
-
I don't have a fix date I'm afraid.
-
@Fiv55 the most common cause of having a larger download file is because you've got altered icons, because they all change again.
-
This is a bug
-
It should be showing now, there was a slight delay but that appears to have been resolved.
-
Due to the way these threads go, and our forum rules - I'm going to close this right now. Discussing Content Creators in general always leads to an element of people who like them and people who don't, it's a purely personal thing that always ends up with people arguing and disrespecting one another and this is not the type of thread we wish to promote on the forums.
-
A reminder to you to keep this discussion civil please and to stop insulting each other, we don't need personal attacks on other users here thank you.
-
Please provide DBD Mobile feedback on the official channels for DBD Mobile - they do not visit this forum, the game is entirely separate. We deal with the core game here, so that's console and PC versions.
https://discord.gg/dbdmobile this is their Discord where you can provide feedback
-
This would probably be top on my most requested thing for the game...not only for us personally as players, but it would help ACM's with their work so much - no need for people to record games etc when needing to report.
-
Sadly no, they need the in game report to have been made
-
@Midori_21 said:
You must be new here. The devs really don't care what people say in the chat after the game.
Completely false!
@ValgeVari An in game report has to have been made, the chat logs are then checked. You can also send screenshots to Support https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us but the in game report is mandatory in all cases.
-
Closing this because we don't want to promote these types of threads on the forum.
-
As it says, we are aware of the situation

@Flyguy115 said:
Zoning is basically what all pyramid head players do. They force you away from places in fear that you might be hit by his ranged attack. deathslinger can also do it with windows.
I think with PH it's particularly strong to zone tbh. His ranged attack gives survivors a lot more chances to dodge the hit, so it makes sense for him to zone the survivors into an area where they can't dodge it. It's much harder to dodge the close range hits at loops, especially if the option is to take a window - it puts the survivors right out of position.
-
Please don't put the footage on the forum - that would come under Naming & Shaming.
Yes this is definitely reportable, please report using the in game report function and send video proof of both players to Support : https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

The killer can't be banned in that situation I think.
But the survivors might for "working with the killer"
I might be wrong but Idk
As the expression goes "it takes two to tango" - so yes, it's on both parties, survivor & killer.
-
Yes, they do not expire - you will be able to use them after the event
