There is no practical reason to do so. It is entirely for completionism and the bloody cosmetics. If you like the cosmetics or want every character to have a little III icon, do it. Otherwise, don't waste approximately 4-5M BP.
-
No, not really much comparison. He (thankfully) doesn't have a flick, so he actually has some counterplay.
-
Clown. Ironically, I brought him for Kate, who ha seen my main ever since. After that - Spirit. First killer I bought just to play, and not because I even knew how strong she was. I just liked her in vids and thought "that sound fun." Then I got to mid/high ranks and found out that she was, in fact, one of the strongest killers in the game and that most spirits did not, in fact, know how to play her and just slapped on Stridor, thus giving me a bad name by proxy and earning me a buttload of hate just for playing my favourite killer.

That freaking Tofu guy, showing off the bouncy alchemist. When will he learn that he's at that stage of YouTubeing that now everyone's going to be bouncy alchemist.

nah i haven't but when you are fully healthy you can take a hit and start looping shack, you know like a good teammate. I know i can hit them. But when you are saving someone from basement without bt and you refuse to take a hit so you can all get out thats not my issue. See here is the situation. They rescue from basement, I return and stalk at the staircase, the healthy one tries to run through me but run backward after i swing, that was her mistake. She should've taken the hit and ran out with her teammate. Instead she ran back and got her entire team killed. Ill post the video in the OP after this post
Wait, did you just suggest that letting you camp basement was "being a good teammate?" That is survivor no-no #1: DONT LOOP NEAR HOOKS.
-
Yes. This pleases me. More mains for the Blighterhood. We shall band together and take back the crown of... I don't know, one of the other killer's crowns.
And now I made myself sad because Blight came out after the 4th year anniversary and I want a crown for the bouncy alchemist.
-
Apparently you've forgotten that you can just stop stalking and hit them. You know, the thing they are worried about you doing.

I mean he's right , when i was on twitter yerstoday on the patch post all i saw was survivors main crying about DS being Bugged , Heartbeat being bugged , Blight being Op .
I think all the survivors main here came to troll you but you're right don't worry , this has always been like that and it'll always be like this.
PS: most funny thing is that people with 3000 /4000 messages on this forum wasted their time to make thread like this sink to protect their main role and then call themselves 'killer main too' when they can barely make a build on their own .
Wait... A bait post in a bait thread?
Well played.

Shelter Woods is a map whose strength is determined almost entirely by RNG. It can be one of the weakest, or one of the strongest. There's not really that much else to say, except that even at its weakest gens are still easily doable thanks to its size and easily chained tiles, pallets notwithstanding.
-
So, you think it is a baseline skill to, on top of memorising the maps themselves, memorise 10-15 different totem locations, most of which are tile-specific? For 35 maps?
Even ignoring that, you've got to realise by now that people often just don't do totems. It's not a matter of not knowing spawns or mechanics, it's a matter of not caring for various reasons, both good and bad.
I would also like to point out that I have lost more games to fellow teammates wasting time on totems than I have been killed as a direct result of said totems. Oh no, the killer has Ruin - so let's stack on the gen and have it done in 48 seconds. THEN we go totem hunting til we find the next gen.

Wraith isn't really a stealth Killer. You can see him coming and he has a warning notification. His power is actually just mobility its not really stealth unless you're standing still and camping for the full invisibility or using the iridescent add-on. Otherwise the Survivors will always have a head start on you... which doesn't really scream stealth to me.
I'm sorry, are you seriously suggesting that the killer who's only power is to turn transparent and Undetectable is not a stealth killer?
-
I sort of see where you are coming from, but Wraith is also a stealth killer. Blight doesn't have that option just because he's so loud. Plus, as you said, Blight is much better in a chase and has much better mobility. I feel like a better comparison would be Demo, Billy, maybe even Oni and Nurse. All have out-of-chase mobility and in-chase power.

The bonus bloodpoints even through lockers had to have been unintentionally because it makes it better than the purple seeing addon just by being able to immediately clear some groups of lockers in garage tiles or the temple locker tiles
It's better than the purple add-on in every way, not just the locker effect. I think they should have their effects reversed.
-
I watched a Steve (who jumped in a locker like a little baby after sitting on a gen, so I'm not sorry about it) get downed almost immediately. If the killer had actually been tunneling, that would not be okay, and it is more important that the perk stops tunneling than disallows awful plays like that. Not by much more, but still by more.
-
In terms of raw gameplay? Corrupt Intervention, Decisive Strike.
Corrupt helps killers when they need it most without making them go out of their way to use it, and DS is just the single strongest perk in the game without builds because you can sit your injured arse on a gen and jump in a locker when the killer is close or get free unhooks.
In terms of overall usefulness? Kindred and BBQ.
Kindred gives you all the info you need exactly when you most need it, BBQ gives you BP for days and sometimes you see aura's as well.
-
Great, because there was no playing around it. It was just constant, free wallhacks, with a bonus serving of knowing if someone was in a locker nearby. You cannot "adapt" to that, you just have to hope the killer sucks.
-

Play a survivor match where there is no obsession. Then you will see if DS causes tunneling, or the lack of it.
In my experience, nothing changes.

So that DBD doesn't die.
We all know how powerful SWF is, in that it easily enables coordination, which in turn trumps literally everything killers can do and then some. Most, if not all, killers would leave SWFplay off most of the time. But the majority of players play SWF, so making it so that they don't get games would... Well, kill the revenue stream, and by extension DBD itself.

It actually isn't. If Survivors go through a window and even attempt to juke you, they usually can, since you can't see scratchmarks. Plus, I play on Console, where my FPS drops to 10 when I activate Feral Frenzy, so that is likely skewing my perception.
Legion stomps newer Survivors, but he gets absolutely decimated if the Survivors have any clue as to what they are doing.
Blight does not have instant downs, he is not really close to Billy. He is a very fast, stab and run Killer who has decent mobility if you use your bounces correctly, Billy has nothing like that.
As for your last point, they need some significant buffs (so does Clown.) Their power, while it may be easy to use, has almost zero value against good Survivors who know that if they do not heal, the Legion almost always loses. That's his win condition, if the Survivors understand that healing will waste time, you will almost always lose. This makes him pretty awful against good Survivors and there isn't anything the Killer can do about it.
It seems to me that your perception about the difficulty of legion is extremely skewed, and that you maybe don't know how to play Blight. Hitting and running? That isn't a thing you should be doing at the best of times, not unless there is a huge concentration of survivors in one area.
And, like it or not, a lack of instadowns doesn't mean that two similar killers suddenly become completely different. 230ms, straight-line charge, similar cooldown time, similar map mobility. They even have similar in-loop use, except instead of curving you're ricocheting.
Whereas Legion has an uncounterable, extremely fast first injure and nothing else. They move at 130ms, they have full control with no real downsides since not seeing scratchmarks rarely has any effect, their power applies deep wounds, it goes away when you hit someone out of it, it gets refreshed when you hit someone in it, it cannot down anyone, you get Killer Instinct on people within your TR after a hit... I genuinely don't see the comparison.
-
Just look at the sheer amount of people complaining that Blight is weak, even though he is one of the few killers that survivors have to genuinely outplay in order to escape. And the sheer amount of people defending second-chance builds to the death even when someone calls out their reasoning, to the point where people have been attempting to alter the terms "camping" and "tunneling" to capture a much wider range of behaviours.
-
The dude mutated himself with scientifically accurrate magical potions. That answers pretty much everything. It's a fun little tool that writers use to get away with things because otherwise the world would be boring.
-
Doc has a rather unique situation: He is rightfully one of the more hated killers, but for the wrong reason.
Unlike most killers, and this is something I rarely mention because people get butthurt about it, a good Doc has zero counterplay. They can time their shocks just right and you don't really have any option but to hold W. However, it is extremely rare to see a good Doc, and most solo players get destroyed more by panicking teammates that rely on stealth than the killer being good.
-
Flashlight saves have to be very precisely pulled off. If the blind goes through while the killer is in animation, it doesn't count. If the blind is too late and the killer just looks away, it doesn't get activated. You have to start it at a precise time so that the blind registers just after the animation stops, which thanks to dedicated servers is actually kind of easy, at least compared to a year ago. Still difficult to aim and time, though, it's more that you have a slightly larger window to successfully save in.
-
Legions power is a borderline free injure+slowdown with no counterplay whatsoever, with the possibility for some decent information and some juggling if the survivors are... kinda dumb or just uncoordinated. That isn't something you can just buff and expect it to not be ridiculous. (And, yeah, Legion has the easiest and least-counterable power in the game, it's just that their power only injures, not downs.)
And, to be honest, the comparison really isnt there. Blight is closer to Billy that Legion - a 230ms straight-line dash? Sound familiar?
I like Legion. I think they could use some buffs. But their power really is extremely easy to use and completely uncounterable.
-
That isn't in any way killer-specific. Gens are pretty easy to do (which shocks me that solo que is as bad as it is), and survivors are realising that more and more. Bonus points if they second-chance some free gen time because, you know, that's a fair and balanced thing that they can do.
-
Playing windows is your only real option without holding W. And, of course, one of the most popular perks on Bubba is Bamboozle, so just hold W and pre-throw every pallet while your team does gens.

Any stealth killer could tunnel and camp without an issue against solos.
Good spirits, freddys, billys, and nurses will also easily tunnel cause they can return to the hook very fast
Tunneling + slugging would become extremly easy without second chance perks to counter them.
the devs need to do something against tunneling and camping before they can remove second chance perks
I'm sorry, but you are repeating a mantra, not addressing what I said.

If survivors stopped using second chance perks (ds) killers would just tunnel most games
Its sad but true
No, I don't think it is. If survivors stopped using second chance perks, they would be forced to play well and killers would quickly realise that tunnelling isn't an effective strategy unless the survivors just completely blank and forget that it's free gen time.
Tunnelling is a solo destroyer, not a good stratagey. If solo's were forced to play well then GG killers. So maybe it's a good thing that second chance perks exist.
-
This is going to sound stupid and a little conceited, but I'm often too merciful. I start to go easy on my opponent/s, and they take that inch and somehow turn it into a mile while I'm not looking. And, this being DBD, that cannot wait to brag about the fact that they won... Even though I clearly, and deliberately, gave them the opportunity to do so.
-
Honestly, most survivors need them.
That's not a good thing, I don't think it is a good excuse, and in fact I would prefer it to not be the case. However, they exist. They have existed for some time. People have gotten used to running them and genuinely cannot play the game without them because they never learned to play without them and they are now at a rank (this is why ranks don't matter, BTW) where they have no chance of learning except for that 1-in-10 game.
That is not to say that everyone who uses second chance perks is like this. I certainly sprinkle them in now an then, although I wouldn't call myself particularly good ("boosted moron," perhaps) so I am a poor example. However, given the sheer amount of people that complain about constant losing when they dequip them it seems pretty obvious where the (vocal, at least) majority lie.

Lol who cares, "good" survivors are genuinely unbeatable even as Nurse with ranged add-ons and a mori so I certainly don't.
-
Because that would be insanely overbearing.
"Look, it's a Blight, time to get hit!"
"Wait, Blendette, isn't that already how it is?"
"Well, yeah Nea, but most people haven't bothered to practise that yet!"
Blight is a pretty well-balanced *coughverystrongcough* killer. Once his QoL issues have been taken care of, I suspect I will be only one of thousands of Blight mains.

I'm saying your comparison doesn't hold. I do realize what I said is quite confusing so allow me to elaborate.
Generally speaking holding W is a good strategy against any killer that isn't Blight. You will also waste sometime against a good Nurse before she catches up. The difference between any other killer and a Nurse is that when they catch up, the chase begins which again wastes quite some time. However this is something the Nurse isn't affected by as a good Nurse will make the chase non existent.
This is as you said yourself the opposite of the Blight where the first part is pretty non existent but the chase, the looping isn't his strong part as the steering of his power doesn't allow him to use it at loops, unlike Oni. Having a better flick won't change this either.
Sure there's tiles on some maps that are further away from each other so this is a time the Blight could use his power. A survivor keeping his eye on the Blight and adjusting his movement to what they're doing as well as using debris etc is one of his counters and would still be a counter if his flick were to change. Meanwhile, again the Nurse doesn't care what you do.
So no you can't compare a killer that ignores every input from a survivor in a chase with a killer that depends on said input.
I will literally get everyone at every loop if you give me an Oni flick on Blight. Plague Bile alone makes every loop playable, instead of just maze tiles and buildings. But a flick, coupled with his speed, will make him even stronger than Nurse. Look at it another way: I've lost 4 games so far. And by "lost," I mean 2k'd, because I haven't had more than 2 survivors escape even with a key, a map, and 2 BNP's. Blight is strong. You are basically asking for a killer with a slightly worse chase than Nurse (only in the sense that it would take slightly longer, but still less that 20 seconds from full health), but much, much better mobility that takes away even holding W, a valid strat against Nurse. That would be OP AF. I don't understand how anyone could think that would be okay.
-
@PleassBuiltInNoed said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1622496#Comment_1622496
most of loops have no mindgame so not really, you just force the pallet every time
Yeah... With mindgames, and basic ones at that. Quick red-glow switches and directional faking that gain significant distance and force the pallet drop much quicker. What do you do, Bloodlust it? That takes forever.
-
@Nameless said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1622905#Comment_1622905
Holding W is good against any killer that isn't Blight... A good Nurse still won't care though because they're confident in their ability to down you in a matter of seconds. That's the essence of the problem with Nurse: a good Nurse doesn't care what you do.
If you're not outpositioning yourself and not just mindlessly holding W, the killer has plenty of counterplay, especially when the steering is left untouched as it should.
I'm confused. What are you trying to say? What are you attempting to argue? You literally just contradicted yourself in the same sentence.

I just disagree with you someone made a good point oni has a good flick and he’s a insta down killer whys he not better the the nurse? Or spirit? Or the others above him blight needs a flick end of story
Because Oni doesn't have his power all the time. Blight does.
-
@Nameless said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1622867#Comment_1622867
Then why is the Oni considered weaker than the Nurse? Oni is literally an insta down killer with better steering and a better flick...
Also what do you mean without the defence of holding W? Blight is literally the anti-W killer... Like... I don't know what to tell you, if you're outpositioning yourself and holding W against a Blight, you're already playing against him badly. The change in the flick would only make it easier for the Blight to capitalize on your mistake.
Oni doesn't have his power all the time. Blight does. That's why you cannot just throw on a flick - the instadown isn't why Oni is so strong. If he had his power constantly, he would be stronger than Nurse.
And the OP wanted to say that Blight and Nurse have no comparison - Nurse gets wrecked by holding W. That is her default counterplay. She can blink through everything, but if you just hold W it takes her ages to catch you. Blight is the opposite: he has to break pallets and vault windows, but then he's on you immediately. If you don't have debris to hide behind, you're getting hit. And you want him to have literally zero counterplay? To take away any chance of dodging his power? Yeah, that's actually stronger than Nurse.

I'm sorry dude/ette. It sucks when that stuff happens.
-
Yeah... No. If he had that, he really would be stronger than Nurse. Break the pallet and hit them without even the defence of holding W? Hit them before they eve drop the pallet? Zero counterplay?
-
I hope they switch it's effect with the soul chemical.
-
What did that look like from her perspective...
Wait, could you facecamp someone in basement without either of you actually being in basement? BM with no actual BM? Just you and her, staring at each other as some random dweet is downstairs staring at an "unhook" prompt going "######### did I just spend $15 on?"

Thats only if they nerf his only good addons.
I don't play him with add-ons.
-
You wouldn't even need it to be truly animated, just have it cycle through textures based on event scoring. However, it might be too much work for the game to handle, depending on what else is happening behind the code that we don't see.
-
No. That would be OP. Survivors could do absolutely nothing to get away from him. Imagine Omega Blink Nurse but with breaking pallets. That is what you are asking for.
-
Nurse. Spirit, Freddy and Ghostface are close seconds, but I hate Nurse. There's nothing they can ever do to make her fair.
-
He's pretty damned close. His power is strong, but it has counterplay. He has amazing map presence. His chases are fair, in that both parties are competing to outplay one another instead of one dominating the other with simple, boring , frustrating tactics. His add-ons are good, but with one exception they aren't ridiculous.
If they fix his FoV, Compound 21, and heartbeat, he might be the perfect standard for killer.

prediction is a 50/50 and killer cant afford that kind of scenario
just look how salty survivors are about spirit and there are 4 of them
Most of killer is prediction. Unlike Spirit, who is basically a guessing game because you cannot see her, you can kee your eye on a survivor, get a feel for how they run, and predict, based on what you have seen, what they are going to do next. That's how looping works. It's the same principle wrapped up in a power.

I also thought he was bad, but yeah he's pretty strong.
There is one problem though...survivors are learning to dodge when he is using his lethal rush and since he can barely turn, sooner or later most survivors will be easily able to completely ignore his offensive part of the power.
Predict, don't react. Lead the hit. It's like playing a ranged killer - you don't aim where they are at, you aim where they are going to be.

I feel like that would be... Interesting. One of the biggest things about learning her is knowing when to STOP infecting people so they don't reset the fountains.
