I didn't. I don't have a SWF to play with.
Maybe you could pull it off if you just leave it on all the time and wait for that 1 in a hundred trial.

No..if it was the same as oni it would be fine ..oni one shots and can turn better than blight ffs
No. I would literally never lose a trial. That would actually be stronger than Nurse. A killer who always has the best mobility in the game AND you cannot dodge no matter what you do? A killer who literally doesn't care about having to hit you twice because you're going down 5 seconds later? GGs.
-
I see we have wildly differing playstyles for the same killer. I like it. It's always nice when a killer offers that sort of variety.
I can definitely see where you're coming from, and I feel like I should probably try it just to see if that helps... But I make constant split-second decisions because if I give myself two split seconds I'm going to mess it all up and second-guess myself to death.
-
If people want to pretend they accomplished something, let them. It's sad enough that they don't understand how easy an escape that is.

The issue is it's a melee attack..it makes sense with the other killers..but when I can just run sideways and the blight can't touch me as a result there's something wrong here
But... But I can touch you. Even if you run around debris... I'm right there and you don't have a loop. Time to get a thwack.
Also, if he had any more control he would actually be OP.
-
I mean... I don't think that BHVR can pay Disney enough money, but if they magically could... Ghost Rider isn't a murderer. Unless all of the survivors were revealed to be disgusting and violent criminals, why tf would it be killing them?
And aesthetically similar killer, however, would be pretty cool.
-
I see so many people calling this killer weak because they are too scared to try him in loops and don't realise you are supposed to swing at where they will be, not where they are.
Is it because I was a Plague/Slinger main that I just fell I to that playstyle? I know it's a thing that only those two and Huntress even need to bother attempting.

Shack I can kind of understand if you force them to loop to the window from the inside. The setup is ok for rushing into something and then at them, but that will be incredibly obvious if they know how to dodge.
But how do you use LT walls? The outside out them would be entirely dependent on what's around. The inside of them would require massively telegraphing what you're going to do after using a significant amount of time to position which would be even easier than shack to dodge.
Is there some kind of trick to catching them inside of a vaulting animation that's counter intuitive until you do it?
That's the thing: his power actually isn't that easy to dodge. Unless they have something to run behind, it's more on you to miss than it is on them to avoid you. People rarely change tactic, so if they dodge your power once, that's going to be how they always do it. They fake left and go right? Just go right when the fake left. They 360? That doesn't actually work, you have about 60° of leeway and a pretty big hitbox to boot.
-
How do you know they have high ping? It's not like hits will ever look normal on the survivors end, after all.
And what is the specific hypocrisy you are meaning?

I'm not going to waste more time if I'm choosing between a healthy survivor who hasn't been hooked yet and an injured survivor who has been hooked at least once
I mea... Yes, yes you are wasting time. If you're chasing someone who has DS and BT, you have no map pressure. It still takes 2 hits to down them, and they still have DS. And you. Still have. No pressure. Even if they don't have DS, everything else I just pointed out still applies. You. Have. No. Pressure. On. The. Team. Seriously, if you see two survivors, one of them an instadown, the wrong play is to hook them. Doesn't matter how many hook states they have. How much time are you going to waste even if they don't have DS? 10 seconds? 20? How much distance is that? How much gen time for the other two?
I honestly don't get it. If I tunnel someone, I lose. Hands down. The gens just get done and I wasted my own time.
-
Basic Blighting: Use your power for mobility. It is the best mobility power in the game. When you find a survivor, loop them normally. When they drop the pallet, break it and use Rush to catch up. Most of the time you will have enough speed to prevent them from reaching another pallet, and with practice you will be able to hit them in the open with your Lethal Rush and/or zone them away from the nearby loop. When using Lethal Rush, remember to pre-turn before you initiate the attack.
Advanced Blighting: You can play windows. Shack and LT walls are your strong areas: In shack, slam the doorframe and Rush them down. It is tricky but effective. LT walls: "missplay" them. Let them go for an infinite, but slam and Rush them down. Long-wall jungle gyms are decent, short-wall gyms are acceptable. 4-walls are almsot entirely dependant on having other nearby tiles, but you can still get them in occasion by slamming the end of a wall and Rushing them down.
Junk tiles and path pallets are borderline unplayable if the survivor knows what they are doing, but there's usually something you can bounce off of to get less experienced players, and if they try looping the long side of a path pallet or long wall/short wall you can quickly slam the pallet and Rush them down.

If I can down the unhooker for free (aka bt trade) then I won't refuse to. Although if I were to choose between chasing healthy unhooker/injured unhooked survivor, the choice is obvious, even if I have to power through BT/DS.
So... Even if you have to waste more time and have zero map pressure, you think that it's the right play?

That could work but against Killer Like Freddy or Spirit I'm sure midgame will become terrible
It works against literally every killer, and especially against Freddy. All the survivors have to do is hold W if they get interrupted and the killer cannot snowball.
-
Honestly, I can see it. But also, there is counterplay: Stack on gens. Make sure you are the only person working on the first gen, and go around looking for other people after that so the killer has much less time for Ruin to kick in. It's the same tactic as with every other scenario, it's just that most people are genuinely too ignorant to know it. Don't spread out for the last gens if the killer has Ruin, you're just setting yourself up for failure.
-
Uh... Huh? You do know that the best play is to down the unhooked survivor and chase the unhooker, yeah? Free map pressure + instant chase, as opposed to wasting your time giving 2 people 4 free gens and 1 person a couple of unhooks and a free gen.
-
So, you suggestion... Is to buff survivors?
You do realise that Hold-W is a problem for a reason, right?
-
"If the right conditions are met."
There's a difference between "the right conditions" and "chase music begins."
-
The amount of "I told you so" that is going to be going around the community in a week already has me cringing. I'd be willing to bet that you are only the first of very, very many to wake up to Blight's capabilities.
-
It's a good perk. It isn't a "must-use" perk. To be honest, there really aren't any. There's some must-have boxes that need to be ticked - not having regression or slowdown of some kind is basically losing, for example, as is playing many of the cast without tracking perks. But there's no specific perks you absolutely have to use.
-
Getting offended by someone trying to offend you isn't really being sensitive. That's a really unhealthy way of looking at things that too many people fall into. If someone hits me, it hurts. It's not my fault that it hurts, it's theirs for hitting me.
But yeah, my really crappy teammates are getting me down. Ironically, I see more killer hate as a survivor than as a killer. It's so tiring. I wish people would grow up and realise the damage that shite can do.
-
Honestly, yes, with one stipulation: the endurance effect only activates if you heal the other survivor for more than 1.6 seconds. That way, UB's cannot literally 99.9 the perk for an insta-up and still get the benefit. (Normal recovery takes you to 95%, requiring the survivor picking you up to spend 1.6 seconds healing you.)
It would definitely make it a strong perk, even a meta perk, but not in a way that it combo's with already-kinda-OP perks.
-
Bamboozle is... Honestly, it's kind of a shut-your-brain-off perk. It just makes it so that you can run at survivors when they're in areas with strong windows, but it's not quite as effective as learning to play the window. If that's appealing, go on ahead and get it. I'm no stranger to wanting to just play to have fun and not have to Big Brain every little thing all the damn time.
Mad Grit is just a meme perk. It isn't very good. Even in the situations where it's useful, you have to combine it with 1 or 2 other perks. If you want to meme, get it. Otherwise, save your shards.
Technician is decent if you have trouble hitting skillchecks, for whatever reason (lack of "skill" isn't the only reason to miss them). It also has the nice side benefit of muffling the sound of gen repair, but the recent update basically did that anyway. Pass and save the shards, most likely. Or, if you're on console, just level up Feng.
Flip Flop is extremely situational, bordering on worthlessly so, but you can combo it with a few other perks to make it activate more often. Pass if you want to save the shards immediately, but it is a perk that might become even stronger in the future as the meta shifts, and if you miss it in the shrine you can only buy it with real-world cash. So, if you have the shards to spare, maybe.
-
If you want SB on command, it's called Dead Hard. Maybe try it.
Otherwise, maybe learn how to 99 your exhaustion.
-
Kate is my overall main. She's easily got the majority of my playtime out of any character, killer or survivor.
As for killers, I mostly play a few. In descending order of mainness: Blight, Deathslinger, Plague, Ghostface. I play most of the others as well, but those are the ones I usually enjoy the most.
-
Uh.... That we're cute and cuddly?
-
I prefer Meg's outfit to both the other Oktoberfest ones. I also like most of her outfits.
-
No, I don't facecamp unless I've got to punish Gens Before Friends. That's not to say I give easy unhooks for the sake of "playing fair" - I'm not going to run away from a patrol route just because a survivor suddenly appeared on a hook, not unless I have another chase readily available.
-
It's an unfair winmore second chance free heal that rewards survivors for playing poorly (not healing) and by extension drastically increases gen speeds.
-
Rare offerings: rarer than Ultra Rare.
Seriously, I have more worthless (for me at least, cause I don't wanna burn them) Ebony Mori's on every single killer than I have actually useful BPS. Thanks, map offerings.

corrupt, early downs, slugging.
the only time i would say its completely impossible to stop an early game genrush is strong tiles you can chain together
Slugging doesn't work if they are gen rushing, only if they aren't. Corrupt helps them by ensuring no team member makes a mistake and does the far gens. Early downs is... There's so much to unpack with how unreasonable that is.
There's a difference between an average team, and a genrushing team. All of that works against average teams. None of it works against genrusher deathsquads.

I’d actually be ok with a RHPF nerf. I don’t think he really needs it. I hardly use it.
It is a problem add-on, I've never seen an argument that convinces me it's okay... But stopping there? I mean, it sounds like a BHVR thing to do

Uh no i think you have some problem about understanding , when i said 'there's so much things to do to prevent gen rush , they just dont want to focus on it' i was talking about game devs and gameplay mechanics .
Then the fault is yours, because your opening statement was just as applicable to the OP and them not wanting to learn.
-
I forgot I was upside down and got very confused by your title.
But yeah, the fact that the most common add-ons are, in descending order, Common, Ultra-Rare, and Very Rare?
Uh... Yeah, there's maybe a bloodweb rework in the future, me guesses.

They cant really do much to make him any worse.
they can call him "underrated" as much as they like, hes still the worst killer in the game, literal Hold W killer and power that gets countered by dropping pallets
Honestly, you've just described half the cast.

"We're not done with Clown yet!"
*Nerfs redheads pinkie finger*
"We're now done with Clown!"
-
Honestly, no. I don't think that the majority of survivor players know the difference between 4 decent, coordinated survivors and 4 decent, uncoordinated ones.
That being said, I also don't think the majority of killer players do as well, but that's kind of a different topic. Long story short, most solo players rarely, if ever, experience the power trip that is good teammates.

Uhh no, that's my solution against Gen rushing , you're the one Off topic
We were never talking about gameplay changes. We were talking about current, extant tactics. That's what you opened this with.
-
Tinkerer/Ruin/Undying is the new high-mobility meta. Tinkerer/Ruin was already a good combo when it worked, but Undying makes it so that it works in almost every trial, so now it's actually meta instead of just being a kinda meme thing that sometimes works if they don't find the totem.

I have a good idea yeah : Deleting the tool box or add a different item in game that you can only search in game like in chests or other places that allow you to repair gens (that's an idea i took from the game named soul at stakes kinda) so gens won't be rushed and survivor won't press M1 the whole game and will actually move their asses a little .
But i'm pretty sure this idea will be bad because 'No survivor aren't supposed to move their asses , we're too lazy , No because we can't gen rush anymore .'
Off topic. You wanted to explain to me how killers are supposed to be in 4 places at once, pressuring 4 survivors at once, who all have every resource on the map still available to them and will just immediately go back on the gen the moment you look away.
And, for the sake of fairness, let's assume they have no items.
-
Its point is to be a safety blanket.
Seriously, it is basically a community placebo to stop people complaining about map offerings. I like the idea, but it is the same rarity as a normal map offering (which means that you will literally get it 15× less than a map offering), which means that it is super easy +actually the most common way of using it) to waste your valuable Ward on a trial with no map offerings and get literally 0 value. Or worse, you could burn it, cancel the offering, AND STILL GET THE MAP.
Yeah... It just needs to be more common and that would fix everything. Make it Uncommon, Very Rare or Ultra Rare. Rare is just rarer than Ultra Rare. Because DbD logic.

I've seen every idea the forum has and they are all hugely flawed with overtly simple counterarguments. You seem to be the expert on preventing genrushing, so please do share.

Lol ? There's so much things to do to stop gen rushing , its just that they don't want to focus on it .
Name 1.
-
Honestly, the only reason Camradarie is a bad perk is because your teammates don't know you have it. I'd probably buff it by slapping a giant neon sign above the hook saying "I'VE GOT CAMRADARIE!" that only the survivors could see.
Which sounds like I'm being sarcastic, but I'm kinda not. It really does need some overt, easy-to-understand signal that you have it, or else it will continue to be a SWF-only perk.
-
Dark Devotion is actually a pretty decent perk, even on Ghostface. You go out of stealth the moment you hit someone, so if you hit the obsession then DD activates while your power is recharging and you're still Undetectable, plus everyone is hearing your TR so they think they're safe...
-
That's just what happens sometimes. There's nothing you can do, so don't even worry. Just play what little game you get, try to have fun, try to get as many hooks as possible or whatever goal you want to set for yourself. Actual genrushing isn't really a thing that can be fixed without screwing over every other survivor.
-
Honestly, first and foremost you should check to see whether you were actually tunnelled. I know I sound condescending, but I've defended 6 killers today against salty teammates that call them out for tunnelling for no apparent reason, so I've learned to be cautious.
Second, if the killer is tunnelling you, play super safe. Drop pallets quick, don't risk hits. If you have DS, screw it. Jump in a locker. Force it or force them to wait it out. Normally I'm against that sort of thing, but normally I don't see tunnellers/tunnel people myself.
If you're getting tunnelled, you're screwed. But if you can buy as much time as possible then go for it.

Yeah we just keep ripping on Spirit/Pyramidhead and completely ignore everything on the survivor side. That’s how the game comes fair and balanced ^_^
Yeah, it we could contasntly whine and complain with no real focus.
This has nothing to do with other issues in DBD, it is about PH. Stay on topic or don't bother, please. I'm sick and tired of everyone whattabouting and stalling any and all discussion. If you want to discuss the stupidity that is holding W, or what you consider to be easy about looping, go open a topic on it. Otherwise, let's talk about the skill cap and skill floor of PH and where the problems come from.
Personally, he's pretty easy if you just go for zone-into-m1 or animation-locked hits. There's also no real counterplay to it because of the lack of cooldown and the ease of hitting. However, going for non-animation-locked hits is actually very difficult, and I respect PH's that do. His power, when used that way, is very tricky but certainly still achievable.
-
Okay... How are they cheating? Please provide some details.

Because running around a pallet in a circle then dropping it when the killer gets close is so skillful right? Running a trapper, wraith, pig etc from safe pallet to safe pallet and having dead hard ready to get your distance back if you fall for a mindgame. High level play right there.

Yeah, his FoV is a little too low. I like the uniqueness, but I also really do lose survivors at loops because I cannot hear footsteps and cannot see... Anything.
