  • It's hard to say it without dipping a toe into the negativity, so I'll keep it as shallow a dip as possible: I forget what it's like. I play DBD for a while, I have fun because it's a fun game and as much as I complain I do love it. I do wierd survivor builds, I go back to old ones and see if they're still good, I constantly cycle out perks to try new things. But then I have a really, really bad experience that taints it for a while and I have to stop.

But then the bad experience goes away and I return to this game that I love and have spent way too many hours on. The new/reworked content is a huge bonus (especially reworks). Plus, now I have Blight, a killer whose playstyle just fits with my head. I've always mained killers because I suck at them and want to get better, but now I have a killer I'm just having so much fun with and not getting steamrolled constantly.

  • Weeping angels should never be in DBD. Please god no. I want to be able to sleep at night.

  • You forgot that "being respectful" and "not directly insulting someone with hurtful words" aren't even remotely the same thing. The sheer amount of assumptions and straw-man arguments is insane and I think it's been getting to people that try to open their mind a little. Say one thing, and suddenly you're a toxic main, you have all these opinions, you don't know what you're talking about and your opinions (that you don't even have) and experiences are invalid. It's been really driving some of the threads.

I've been cursed with the Spine Chill+Sprint Burst Combo when comparing my snapshot vs other people who have put up stuff like this before. It's probably why I've long since developed favoritism towards Whispers and moonwalking to generators.

You don't need to moonwalk. Spine Chill's activation window is smaller than your base FoV, which has annoyed everyone that I play Ghostface against.

  • Wow, it is actually super nutty to me that BL is so low in the Exhaustion meta. I'm going to have to run it more to bump up the numbers, it's such a good perk when you don't get the flattest maps in the game.

Also, Spine Chill all the way up there. I knew it was meta but every time someone tracks it I feel like it's creeping up the list. Vault build maybe? With the new vault hitboxes?

  • Honestly, as much as I love the uniqueness, his FOV being so damn low is pretty bad. It's like chasing someone while crouched as Ghostface.

  • Wow, I guess I'm just some god-tier killer main to be getting consistent wins. I never knew I was so good at killer. M1 GOD over here, 10M hours btw.

Or, maybe you just aren't that great with him and need to practice. He's not Nurse, but he's damn good once you get the hang of it.

So...you think the solution is posting a topic in the incorrect forum? :/

I hate this bug, like many others, I started a topic in the correct area to have the devs look at the issue I and others reported.

They don’t come to general topics to look for bug topics, they come here to jail or ban people. If they do find a bug topic, and they aren’t feeling lazy, then they have to take the effort to move the topic...

Just report bugs in the area created for it. <_<

The larger the outcry, the quicker the response. Sad, but true. There are a lot of Game-breaking bugs that still exist, to this day, with very little coverage and zero fixes.

  • He's pretty strong. His map presence is second to none, his power is good in a chase, and he hard-counters that second-most annoying of survivor playstyles: The Sprint-Forward.

That being said, he is a very adrenaline-fuelled killer. If you're normally the kind of player that goes into a trial with a plan, or the kind of player that likes to chase WITHOUT a plan, he's probably not for you. While you're moving around, you have to take into account everything along your path, every obstacle, every loop, everything you could slam. Then when you're chasing, you have to recall all of that prep but throw away any plan you might have formulated, because the sheer chaos of his chases forces wierd, unpredictable decisions.

And you've got to remember that his power has a lot of wierd nuance. Pre-turning, pre-lunging, being able to make snap decisions while moving at 230ms, being okay with literally running away from your prey... Even being able to chase, not juggle, CHASE 2 or more survivors at once because of the threat of his Lethal Rush, or a quick cancel-and-m1.

  • If you stand on the lock, they cannot leave and you can close it. Otherwise, they get out for free because otherwise people would just give up and make the game boring after 1 or 2 kills, depending on the death-to-gen ratio.

That came off a little more aggressive than I'd like but the point stands.

Because we have a bug report forum with a side category of specific bugs that cater to the new new patch.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/4-2-0-bug-reporting

And yet DBD is suffering from years-old bugs. Perhaps a simple bug report isn't sufficient.

  • You mean instantly drop every pallet and hope your team is doing gens because every LF under the sun runs Bamboozle?

  • Do you honestly believe that people care?

I'm sorry, but as a killer who goes out of their way to play nice... They don't give a damn. Most players, killer or survivor, genuinely don't have the presence of mind to avoid being hypocritical.

I can understand why they are nerfing loops, but why stealth? Killers already have tons of opportunities to track down survivors, bruh.

Because they really, really don't have any way of tracking survivors. It's why Dead Dawg is one of the most survivor-sided maps in the game - sure, the loops are terrible, but you don't even need them. Just crouch in a bush and force the killer to spend over a minute looking for you, or give up and let you do the gen while they look for someone else and hope they can find them even with 4 tracking perks.

  • Legion isn't the worst killer - their reliance on a basic m1 chase makes them terrible against good players, but so is more than half the cast. Add to that decent slowdown, quick injures and somewhat okay map traversal, and you've got a killer than can make deadzones (you cannot risk taking a hit) and exploit them (once again, you cannot risk taking a hit).

But, I don't think they're that great, either. They have literally nothing in their kit that helps them get downs, which is actually pretty unique.

  • Rank is a bit of a joke. It doesn't mean anything except you've played for a long time. Blight carried my arse from rank 4 to rank 1, and I'm not especially great.

  • Yeah, because killers are the only ones who BM and game-deny.

  • Have you read the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which the Blight seems to be inspired by (I think they even mentioned it in Into The Fog)? Dr Jekyll was a brilliant chemist that created a serum to transform himself into his most base self in order to do the things he had always secretly desired to do. Most modern interpretations paint Hyde as a literal monster.

The Blight is similar: One of his own concoctions transformed him into a monstrous, raving lunatic. It's the basis of Jekyll/Hyde stories. The Blight is not the same man that did all of the brilliant sciencing, he's a degenerate lunatic that rushes around murdering people.

  • If it wasn't a Hex, then Deathslinger, Blight and whatever other killer benefits from the hild-W playstyle would be insanely strong with it on certain maps.

  • I like it. A lot of people have been disliking it because of it not fitting with DBD, which I can understand, but Blight is one of the most adrenaline-fulled killers and that boss music just goes so well.

@MadLordJack As promised. I quite like this Killer, but my mouse nearly came off the table at least 3 times from trying to hit someone using his power.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZO1UWTESH5RS/lol.png

Also, the hatch is my only weakness.

Can confirm, I swing my mouse around wildly when I'm rushing.

Also, all of those perks VS your first game as Blight with 2 of your own, one of which is bugged? Damn, that's impressive. I lost my first few games with a full loadout and survivors that couldn't dodge my lethal rush.

I like his power and such. He's a good addition to the game, in my opinion. Anyone else who thinks otherwise just didn't play enough as him or against him.

To be fair, against him is pretty rough at the moment. His TR is... Wierd, to say the least, but very few Blight's have even attempted to counter the 360's, so he gets an easy first hit but then just played like a normal m1 killer because they're so convinced they cannot use his power in a chase. It's hard to gauge how good a killer is when it's a pebcac issue.

It's funny that it's very likely that out of all blight feedback devs will take into account only this one because it calls out for unnecessary nerfs.

    What's unnecessary about it?

  • I don't see what crossplay has to do with it. It's not like console has the monopoly on whiners.

  • @Godot said:

I didn't get the chance to play as him yet, but I think he's pretty underrated.

To everyone out there struggling with this Killer, please note down your skill level and rank, and make sure to look at the "difficulty" on The Blight's tooltip to see why you're unable to correctly play as him.

According to the tooltip, Myers is hard, Billy is easy, and Deathslinger is intermediate. To be blunt, they mean nothing. They're like rank: Sometimes you get killers that make sense (Nurse is Hard, Pig is Intermediate), and other times you get rank 1 Trappers that facecamp with NOED.

Also, rank 1, consistent 4k's against good teams that know how to loop and slam gens. I think Blight might be my new main because he's so damn strong and his add-ons just make him better in every way. Plague Bile and Umbra Salts for life.

I actually found it so funny. I was hoping for a 4th time but somebody cleansed the right totem. 😂

I wonder if it can even spawn 4 times? The perk takes up 2 totems, so it may not allow it. You might have had the most Haunted Grounds's you can have.

  • I doubt that it's working properly. If the Devs want your entire screen to freak out and fisheye, they clearly don't get headaches or motion sickness. Which I don't believe, given that it's their job to stare at screens all day.

  • IS/DS/Q&Q/SB. Do gens, jump in locker when killer is close. Zero counterplay efficiency.

DS/UB/DH/SG. Do gens in the killers face with zero repercussion or requirement for locker. Top that.

  • It's not bannable in the same way that bodyblocking for kills or full-party bleedouts isn't bannable.

  • Holy shite, poggers dude/ette. That must have sucked.

Edit: Wow, this was a rollercoaster of emotions.

  • No. I don't want to change your mind. You can't make me. I'm no hypocrite.

  • It's definitely a nice buff to him. I hope that other maps get the vegetation rework that they have received - you can still see traps, scratchmarks and survivors crouching, but you have to be attentive.

  • Solid killer. Decent chase power, amazing map pressure, good add-ons (and some ridiculous ones that are totally getting changed), but a high skill floor that is holding people back. Seriously, I didn't even know til an hour ago that so many people I know haven't been pre-aiming with the Lethal Rush, or lunging early to not get 360'd.

  • If by "tunnel" you mean "don't play mercifully," AKA what most people seem to think is tunnelling, then yes. If you mean "get tunnel vision in one survivor and kill them no matter what," then no. That's how you lose.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/190518/killer-perk-that-disables-all-survivor-perks-balance

Not in the minds of BHVR unfortunately.

BHVR Mindbreaker - Causes exhaustion for 3 seconds, when a survivors working on a gen under 50%.

Balanced Mindbreaker - All survivors are exhausted 100% of the time.

Thats balance folks, 1 killer perk to counter 4 survivor perks.

Yeah, but not the right kind of balance. There's a difference between scraping shite from each side of the scales and piling on so much more that the whole town stinks.

  • Ah, yes. The expensive, small-area, on-miss, highly situational, worse version of his best perk.

  • Uh... No? That sounds insanely strong. 5 perk slots opens up some ridiculously OP possibilities.

  • They're all fine, except maybe DH. Push "E" (or whatever key/button you have it mapped to) to fix a mistake is a bit... Not okay. Great, I outplayed you, I have a hit lined up... and you DH for distance to a window/pallet.

Other than that, I think they're all decent but not ridiculously so. SB is good for not getting caught with your pants down. Lithe is okay, if you don't mind being predictable and not vaulting. Head On seems weak til you remember that it's a stun, not a speed burst.

  • No, it's not. Don't compare something with no counterplay to something with counterplay that the Devs have been pushing for over a year.

  • Just remove NM and don't heal. You really won't get much benefit from being able to pick yourself up, IW is better for anti-sound purposes, and not dropping blood isn't a huge deal since they can hear you grunting and moaning.

  • In the off-chance you are being serious... There's a reason that not healing is meta.

  • It seems to be a bug. I had a Blight walk right up to me, while I watching him, with no TR. A Trapper activated IF even though I couldn't hear him, and a Legion's FF (I assume) tracked me down for a stab even though their TR was acting like they had M&A and I never heard it.

  • Undying/Retribution/Ruin.

That combo is nuts. Retribution will activate at least twice (Undying then Retribution). They cannot avoid cleansing because Ruin. When they cleanse, there's a good chance that

    1) they cleansed Retribution and now I can snowball.

    2) they cleansed Undying, I get Retribution, I snowball.

    3) they got Ruin, I get Retribution, I snowball.

    4) Undying is still active and either of the two other totems jumps to a remaining dull.

Plus I can defend my totems better than TOTH.

  • I had a team send me to Badham then complain about a glitched totem, but they were so salty and so intent to blame it all on me that I had no idea if the totem was easy-to-spot cleansable or uncleansable (they cleansed both Ruin and Retribution consistently throughout the trial).

  • Okay, first: don't expect to land hits 24/7. Second, the threat of his Lethal Rush is what makes him good. Third, predict instead of reacting.

  • Uh... Don't sweat it. That sounds like terribly advice, I know, but the more you worry about gens the more you will make mistakes. It's often fine if one or two gens pop before you even get a down, because most of those times they are shrinking the effective map space that you have to patrol. Just also remember to slug if you have a second readily available chase, always take easy hits, juggle survivors to keep them injured and pressured, and patrol the hook/force hook states if they "gens before friends" it (so they don't get to have their cake and eat it too).

And just really don't worry. For the most, generators are out of your hands. I find it best to just slap on a slowdown perk that synergises well with my build and killer and have at it. You could also take the route of concentrating on gens before chases, but that's just a personal preference and, while many people swear by it so I bet it has plenty of validity, I don't get it.

  • I guess Blight just isn't for you if you don't want to play him. Personally, he's at that level of strength where I feel like I actually got outplayed when I lose. His Lethal Rush has to be limited to be dodgable - imagine yet another killer that will get you no matter what. That being said, you often have the option of anticipating the juke and still landing a hit, and even then the greatest aspect of his power is his mobility. That really isn't something to be underrated.

  • Legion might have the crown of most underrated killer in the game, unless you take add-ons into the mix (then Doc wins). That's not to say they're one of the top killers, just that they aren't that bad. They can get pallets dropped very quickly, their Deep Wounds is an okay slowdown (often better than Pig), and they really can force... Uncomfortable situations.

  • Because all the hold-W players out there can just go die. Or, rather, I can kill you. No other killer can boast that except Spirit, and maybe Huntress, and I don't find either of them particularly rewarding (Spirit's too strong for my taste, Huntress really isn't my style even though I find her fun to play on occasion.)

Plus, he's just super fun. I like being the chaotic pinball. No-one ever knows what I'm about to do, me included.
